So What
Eleanor Rigby Oct 2014
I spent a big part of my life not doing
things because I had no reason why I ought to,
I mean, so what?
But one day I woke up and found myself
loving you and putting more effort into
our relationship than I've ever done
into anything else.

I mean, I told you I loved you
and your response was, so what?

Floating Words
Eleanor Rigby Oct 2014
Words smoothly floating
On the waters
Endlessly travelling
Looking for lovers
To cherish them in their hearts
Before giving them meaning
In sore lips
In lonely paper
They come to life
And learn to swim.

Why Do You Love Me?
Eleanor Rigby Oct 2014
Do you love me
Or the fact I love you?
Do you want me
Or only my love?

Do you like how I make you feel
Or how you make me feel?

I wonder,
Will your love stop
After mine does
Or will it go on?

Is it something about me
Or is it all about you?

Just tell me baby,
Why do you love me?

Sorrow Cleaner
Eleanor Rigby Sep 2014
I wish they invented
A sorrow cleaner
That would **** up
Pain and loneliness
Into its vacuum
So you would never
Complain again
About the shattered bits
Of my heart
That I left on your carpet
The day we parted ways.

You Said Nothing
Eleanor Rigby Sep 2014
I spoke to my soul about love
She said, do not question it
Do not ignore it.
I resorted to my heart,
Guess what happened.
It skipped a beat
And I was reborn.
I asked scientists and doctors
And people who knew drugs
They said, it's all chemicals
I shouldn't bother myself with
They said I'm too strong
To let it ruin me.
But when you and I
Got under your blankets
And I told you I loved you
You said nothing.

I Know Her
Eleanor Rigby Sep 2014
I know her
That of which your heart is made,
That for whom it beats,
That for whom it bleeds.
She is forever scarred
Into your skin
Like a one-winged
Butterfly tattoo.
Your dream lays
Where she sleeps,
Where she breaths
Soft and neat.
Your passion lives
Where her attention
Is yours for hours
And you long for years
To trade her fears
For heavy tears.

And you long for her smile,
Her laughter
For only a short while.

But your pain expands
Where mine also does.
My shattered heart and I
Know you, feel you
For you are broken
Just like us.

A Shadow
Eleanor Rigby Sep 2014
My absence is forgotten
And so is my presence.
The sound I make is unheard,
The words I speak are noise
To your ears.
My love is unwanted
But so is my hate
And so is my indifference.
I am flesh and bones
In the shape of a ghost,
A shadow of a shadow,
The echo of an echo of an echo...

My kind murderer,
your eyes burn like caramel
and melt my insides.
You light a cigarette

And you say, everything turns
to dust with time.
But my kind murderer,
you are not time, you are fire
bringing me to ashes.

Stringless Kite
Eleanor Rigby Sep 2014
When I was little I dreamt I was a stringless kite
flying freely in the sky, I was the out-of-control wild
type you could never manage to keep quiet.
But when I met you, things somewhat changed and
you brought me back on land and showed me that
what I needed wasn't exactly in the sky but rather
right beside you. I decided to give away my wings
for one taste of your witty tongue and dangerous
love. The only problem is that deep within me, and
even though I had legs that I wasn't exactly designed
to use, a hint of feeling out-of-place
would always disguise itself in the most subtle
ways you would always detect and hate, absolutely
hate about me.

The idea of dying so I am finally free was tempting,
I've got to admit it was the only thing left about
that long gone dreamy girl you managed to
change completely. And it's all confusing because
no matter how hard I try to get away, I always
find myself stuck inside my brain thinking
about the way your lips form when you say
you love me. And I bet you hate the way mine
do when I say I don't want you. But baby,
if it hadn't been for you, I would have
probably ceased to exist by now.

Maybe I simply wanted you to love me
with my flaws and pain and sorrow
and everything that's me.

And maybe you cannot do that because
no human can love unconditionally.

I keep saying that maybe
there's a place for you and I;
a parallel world where we can
love each other unconditionally.

Somewhere safe,
somewhere you don't have to
question everything I do
and every word I tell you.

But the truth is I don't think
such world exists.
We had it here, yesterday
and we lost it.

A List
Eleanor Rigby Sep 2014
If I made a list of things
I would like to own
It would have
A garden on the roof,
Maybe a pipe that I wouldn't even use,
A collection of every Smiths' record,
A yellow bird that I would call Jules,
I'm not sure,
I could do with a bottle of Perrier right now,
Oh and my own house
Right by the sea.
I don't care about the order
I just know
That right on the top
It would have
you.

Not today, no.

Why not?

All You See
Eleanor Rigby Aug 2014
In a room
The colour of the dawn
I turn the lights off
And you turn them back on.

I keep your shirt on
And you lift mine.

I kiss your lips
And you pull away
Quickly reaching down
Between my legs.

I open my eyes
To find yours wide awake
Exploring every inch of me
As if that's all there is.

And maybe that's all you see.
But I just want you to love me.
Rather than simply **** me.
