Opalescent emotions/thoughts riotous
tossed like drowsy eyed flora
tangled
in dove-eyed bed sheets
their nuances silken edged
and cool to the touch.

Sunlight drives winks of promise
the beckoning beam
a gossip mongers wicked tongue
unleashed
as tortured petals/seeds
share their space
so indiscreetly.

Boasting a spider creed
a web of delicate mazes
that twist and choke
photosynthesis
the mixed bouquet
struggles for forbearance
and composure.

Ahh you are a funny bunch
eager to burst forth
without a root to bear
beautiful in your swilling path
unsubstantial at best..

And yet you bloom so beautifully
the experience untamed
and I am quite fond of it.

Blossoms no matter how reckless
leave behind sweet dreams to be desired.

And I am all about dreams.

i carry your heavy burdened heart
i have waited patiently as i court
i wrote and made love to you on paper
this was not simple task nor easy a labor
you kindle the flames that blaze
bringing me in such a tamed craze
i spilled my ink across the sheets to you
with gentle sweet passion that is true
caressing you with each sentence and letter
from your curves and lips with pleasure

You can try, too!

Dear Emily, Happy Birthday!!

I know you don't want to make a big deal out of your birthday (and that's okay), but I hope one day you will realise that you deserve it. You're worth it.

I believe we met for a reason and I'm so thankful for your presence. This year, I wish that as you grow and heal, you'll be able to find love so safe and bright that it'll lighten all your past aches and bring hope for the future.

I love you! I can't wait to see you again :')

freshly laid wounds traversing old scars
left wondering, why life lessons are so hard
in spite of the failed attempts
in spite of time
never being on our side,
you are my sweetest hallelujah.

last week
i would drown in a sorrow
but now i sleep
just 'cause i'll see you tomorrow.
Pagi-pagi sekali,
terdengar sayup-sayup berita pagi ditelevisi.
"Pasti Ibu dan Ayah."
Kupaksakan untuk membuka kedua indera lihat ini.
Bangun lalu jalan perlahan menuju ruang keluarga.

pelukannya selalu hangat seperti biasa.
Ia pun tak mengucapkan sepatah kata.
Kini, giliran si tuan yang memelukku.
Agaknya ia sedikit canggung,
si tuan pun memelukku sangat erat
seakan-akan ia tak ingin kehilangan putri kecilnya
yang kini telah beranjak dewasa.

Kulihat mereka sekali lagi,
tersenyum.
Setetes air mengalir dari pelupuk mataku.

Semoga tuhan memberikan umur panjang.

the sun was shining
and big white clouds ran across the sky

someone held you tight
and told you, "i love you"
admired you
and cherished you

all of your love poured out

you inspired
and you soared
you lived
and you died

your love remains

Where do they all go
the unspoken words
Do they melt, into nothingness
burning in the backs of our throats
Or delve into the blue deepness of our thoughts
a sunken treasure
I think they hitch rides
with the hopeless
and the heartbroken
Sitting heavy on shoulders

And I'm walking with the weight of the world
and I'm walking with the weight of the world

until I wait for you
until the sun swallows the moon
and every person is gone
and the stars come crashing down
in shards of crystal amphetamines
and all the dead rise from their sleep
as walking zombies

and if I grow very old waiting for you
too old to think, too old to move
and this earth is nothing but sod
the way it originally was
before man ruined it
with his hands
and the animals drown in the sand

I wouldn’t consider it long
if I saw you at the end
if I drew my last breath holding you
if the last of what I saw was your face
if the last of what I was met with
were your lips
then this was worth the wait
But I wonder what you feel
as we left apart,
back to back—
only falling leaves in between.

MY LITTLE NUMERO UNO

She attacks the page
with all the fervour & ferocity

of learning to write:
! nUmBeRs!

Her pen
digs its way

through to
(the other page)

as if it were trying to
escape its task

make a break
for it.

Finally, she draws
a 2

a gentle swan
gliding by on a single wave.

Then, an 8
(which she informs me)

is an O
“...wearing a belt that’s too tight.”

“Right? ”
“Right! ”

6 & 9
she cuddles together.

“Shhh...they’re sleeping! ”

Then: a 3
“...which is an 8 with half the 8
...missing.”

Then: a 1
which is a man
“.. with a little nose.”

Then: a 7
Which is a man
“...with a big nose.”

10
is
“The man with the little nose
going out with an eight without its belt.”

5
is
“Like a S
frozen stiff.”

4
is
“My hand doesn’t like writing 4’s
so...it doesn’t.!

'Well, that's
enough of that! '

She glares at me
as if to say

'Don't dare
contradict me! '

'I'm going out
to play!

She proudly
announces

(a woman with her work
well done) .

And out...
...out she goes!

Being with Tilly as she gathered the world to her and her attempts to make the meaning of it mean something was one of the great delights of my life.  It was like eavesdropping on God whilst he made the universe. I used to love to travel across the wild and wonderful emotional landscape of who she was and who she was becoming.

If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.

I want to be magic.

I want to be the sparkle

that comes with the colors of the wind.

The kind that touches your soul,

The kind you fall in love with,

The kind you feel but remains unseen.

I want to be magic.

I want to be the light in your iris,

that makes your pupils grow.

The kind that warms your heart,

The kind you grasp at your fingertips,

The kind you breathe in and are left wanting more.

I want to be magic.

The kind, you want to wake up to

and sleep beside.

I want to be your magic,

The kind your dreams would ride.

Know when your ready
Ready to begin
Begin a new journey
Journey into the unknown
Unknown of what lies ahead
Ahead is our future
Future to opening doors
Doors that will help
Help lead you to your dreams
Dreams of the imagination
Imagination that keeps you believing
Believing which is not impossible
(Im)possible is possibly just a dream

The letter of the depressed soul
I always want to love life,
but it seems am an awful and unforgiving lover
And it seems life herself is grossly unfair to me,
Always frustrating my labour of love and very many commitments

I always get more than I want or ever deserves,
of the many struggles and pains that life serves
Maybe she forgot the concept of fair share
Or maybe others were made with iron
And I with soil.

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.
