I put my heart on ice for you
I told you I’d save it for you
As my body went numb
You told me I was crazy
I only said that I’d wait for your love

I'm the child playing in the dirt
Look for me by the grass
Don't go to the park
Make a right on straight street
Dig deep
Bang
As one night I traversed between
Familiar ponds and waterholes.
The mirth and pep of cobblestone catacombs
Traversing also
And lingering languid with the interminable vapours of combustion.
I approached a woman,
Plain,
But radiating a genre of beauty obsolete.
Our trajectories to cross,
I half-stepped, swung, and made to speak,
‘Madame, if you may fancy but a drink?’
To which she did not so much as glance,
But brushed me off
And kept steady on her path.

Is moving so slow, I watch it go by
Look out the window on my bus ride
I thought the world was so small, through my closed eyes

In the end that's what controls me

I could love you like a rock
sit here and do nothing
heavy on you
Or
love you like the breeze
take you to places
you never felt before
riding on my storming nights

so fleeting
I’m troubled with the decision of
basking in it or capturing it

Remember

And when I woke up it was still right there in my vest
My Love Saga - Poem by Col Muhamad Khalid Khan
She is a sweet flower on the bark
Love my love has no question mark
An eternal light in a complete dark
It is like a sweet singing lark
Love has its own burning spark
In sheer disgust like a Noah's ark
Beauty has its own defined stark

My love my beauty of the day
Allow me to take every ray
I don't mind wonderful stay
For your sake I always pray
In disgust in have to display
I am in dance my heart to play

your lips have melted iron

tasted the wicked, subtle, penny-bitter condensation
off of my skin
and within myself
within that place

i’m so sorry that it wasn’t the
smooth cold of porcelain
you’re used to
but i think part of you likes that
it’s not

you want me to cut up your tongue, just a little

that’s all you’ve ever wanted
someone to love you
fiercely. uncontrollably.

is this really what you wanted?
and to think i hold so much back, so tightly,
for both your sake and mine.

my sweet darling it is simply pandemonium

Purpose -

is it a pose and a purr
or a purple rose,

in both cases it's lacking an
R.

Are
we
online
or on
inline skates
to too well known fates?

What's true connection
while there's degradation
used as the causation for cash,

blamed for feeling like trash?

Turn around,

trash can only be
in the existence of its concept.

I feel
displaced
and restless
in this test of a rest
arresting intuitive attraction
to the best that could have ever been had.

A touch despite
pain,
free of validation.

If I could,
I'd cry,
instead it leaves a sigh
into another night.

Because the earth’s round
Doesn’t mean it’s  having a ball.

Because waves crash
Doesn’t mean that they aren’t in control.

Because the sea is deep
Doesn’t mean that it’s thoughtful

Because land meets the sea
Doesn’t mean that they agree

Because you float my boat
Doesn’t make me the captain.
Five little ten worders to ponder.

If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.

Love is pointless,
worthless,
and cheap.
Three words,
uttered,
purchased too easily.
It's exhausting,
dangerous,
and empty.
Love hurts,
painful,
basically scalding.
It's fire,
passionate,
put out with a simple breeze.

i've learned the hard way
that life will never be
as beautiful as poetry
and that we will never be
as perfect as we sound
when squished between
similes and metaphors
so while we don't fit together
quite as well as puzzle pieces
and you sometimes
might not complete me
as well as a cup of coffee
my hand still feels
quite nice in yours

and i don't need a poem to say that
sometimes things aren't poetic

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.

so here's the thing:
I am always performing but
only for you.
I give you my heart, that is raw and burning
while we lie on the floor face to face but you look away
       and wish for hers.

I want you to see me
and see.
marvel at my one untied boot.
I want you to see me.
smile at my chipped nail polish.
I want you to see me
and notice the one curl on the nape of my neck.
I want you to see me and see.

Look at your heart.
I know it reflects someone else but
god what I would give
for you to watch my lips like I watch yours.
