Where Shelter
~for Allison~*

she loves your poetry,
ok you think,
cause you just love her his-stories of her/here life,
the children, the musician, nominate her as daughter,
her poetry and her yay’s spontane-us,
we are fan fanatical
of each other

and she describes us perfectly -

“So I am an idiot standing in a sad storm of letters that are unrelenting”

ok you think,
not bad, for surely
only the most precious things in life are
unrelenting

Never have i felt so alone.

All my friends have left
Fault of my own im sure,
For i never made the effort.
"Too busy, too tired" i said.
At first I blamed anxiety
But let's be honest,
I was just too lazy.

No family to be seen.
Packed their bags,
And off they went.
Still we talk in text, alas
no hugs through a screen.

Despite all this I was happy,
All this seemed as nothing.
As my girlfriend was my all
Best friend and family as one,
What more could i ask for?

Now we are no more.

Never have I felt so alone.

No One
Flowers in my hands, now they are dying
Right here in front of you, with my head, bowing
Eyes looking down, for they are swelling
Now I'm in front of a gravestone, with my eyes, staring

Till Death Do Us Apart, you said
The accident happened last year so you're now dead
But until now I can't move on
Always looking up at the stars, waiting for you til' dawn

This necklace you gave me
I know you're the one who made it sweetie
Written my name, with a heart at the end
That's when I felt that I was a lucky girlfriend

I want to accept the fact
But my heart don't want to act
Now I can't take it anymore
Wait for me, mi amor
An elegy for you from no one!

"Is she doing okay?"
A friend looked down at me
I pretended not to hear, just go away
And leave me be

"Yeah, she's probably fine."
That's how he replied
My mind refuses to align
Why couldn't you have tried?
Even if I don't seem to like it sometimes, it's always nice to ask to show that you care.

i spill forth my illusionary dreams
and you’ll fall in love with my hallucinatory fever
is it a delusion if this is a delusion

like alice, we’ll revel in childlike wonder
so scatter the bouquet and dream in the land of flowers

She stepped to the edge of her world
Cloaked in night, her mind would not quell
Wails everlasting, endless woe
And as she spread her wings, she fell

Exhaustion stole away her
Life, desolate of all as well
Not a spark of soul to recur
And as she spread her wings, she fell

Jagged rocks and frigid waves await
Silver moon in her gaze a spell
Cloud blown in efflorescent fate
And as she spread her wings, she fell

Lone tear in fate to defy
Soft breeze her calm fear to dispel
A smile to death for angels fly
And as she spread her wings, she fell

She stepped to the edge of her world
And as she spread her wings, she fell

We’ll always remember
that special smile,
that caring heart,
that warm embrace,
you always gave us.
You being there
for Mom and us,
through good and bad times,
no matter what.
We’ll always remember
you Dad because
they’ll never be another one
to replace you in our hearts,
and the love we will always
have for you.

I'm longing for the sweet taste of summer to fill the air,
For my feet to dip into cool rivers in the woods,
For smooth legs and sun kissed skin,
For unexpected rain storms that we will slow dance in,
For the nectar of a ripe peach to kiss my lips,
For the days where my soul is warm and daffodils bloom upon my heart,
For the nights where I'm curled up with you sharing a sleeping bag under the stars,
For the adventures we will have, running through an open field,
For the memories we will makes, memories we will talk about years from now when life isn't so simple.

Wala nang lumalabas na salita
Di na ako makagawa ng tula
Pinipilit basahin ang sarili
Ngunit walang tugmang mapili

Alam kong dapat walang ganito
Pagpiga ng damdamin para sayo
Diba dapat natural lang daw
At hindi magtutunog mababaw

Pero mahal bakit ganito
Bakit biglaan na lang huminto
Dahil ba nabasag ang ideyalismo
Mga makalumang aspirasyon ko

Pero mahal wag kang mag-alala
Mabubuo ko tong aking talata
Katulad ng Pag-ibig ko sayo
Gumulo lang isip hindi ang puso

Di ito hihinto tumibok para sayo
Nandito lang ako lagi para sayo
Ako nang sasalo sayo mahal
Pipiliting maging sagot sayong dasal

Mamahalin kita ng buong buo
Hinding hindi magkukulang sayo
Kaya tatapusin ko tong sulat ko
Pero hinding hindi ang pagmamahal sayo

There's a hole in my heart

A void in my mind

A deep desire for nothing but want

A need for something like fun

Adventure and thrills

Seekers and pills

Falling into a blackness

So dark I'm turning blue

Such stark it's only true

Helpless and innocent

Forgiving and iridescent

I bond with strangers

Act bold, I'm not the tamest

I am stuck, so stuck

I don't know how to get out of here

This place, this room, this hide

This mask, this facade,

This glass, this wall, this broken bridge

It is all burning up into flames

Watch it, sink

Down it goes deep into

Black Waters

I find myself searching for something in others,
I do not know if it is approval, love or forgiveness.
I do not know if I am searching for virtue or if I am searching for him in everyone I meet.
so I wander in mindless curiosity,
searching for the answers to questions unknown.

I'm here sitting
alone,
the smell of coffee runs through
my veins,
some music i probably will forget
in a few years arguing with
the thought of you,

But I'm here,
I'm here,
writing about what's happening

pretty boring huh?

i call myself a poet
but i can't use high metaphors,

i call myself a poet
but i can't describe fully
how you make me feel

i call myself a poet

but what am i?

I'm just a kid
scared of life
finding new ways to cope
searching for someone to love,
desperate,
not holding unto my dreams
how can i choose with my mind
what's right for the heart to choose.

and you see?
don't you see?

don't worry i can't either

i can't see how great i am
i can't see how other people see me
i wish i could.

i want to believe this was a dream
or
a nightmare at that.

But at last.
I'm here wishing that in another life
i could be with you,
or
maybe in other deaths,

i crave your touch,
i crave you..
with coffee waking up my senses
like a kid in summer waking up early
to go play with his friends.

i wish things were different,
so i wouldn't have to wish.

to be confident enough
to root yourself

wild abandonment,
being unapologetically
you?

i'm still running,

Path Humble
the count starts now (tired of tired)

I read your outcry at 3:00am
posted on Facebook

you are
tired of tired
sick of sick
the only question, will it ever end...

rise this day,  start another way...

count your blessing
count against all odds
for there are more than merely one

use both hands
both hands chested to feel the heart thrusting,
for living is a wondrous blessing unique
an unbelievable to believe than so many beats,
born and borne,
by you, a strength unequaled,
you a richness possessed

count that one first.
count my hands holding your shoulders.
count that as two, one for me, one for you.

more? more.

mirror.  find the tiny light in each eye against a yellow backdrop.

add two more. for they are a sparking confidence of confirming.

you felt the heart thrumming
go back, feel the breathing warmth breaching forth.
add another. for now known you can never ever be cold.

wash the face, wash away the caution that sleep leaves,
the coverlet of fear that fears you not to dare,
amazing that tap water plain is sacred when it
miracle breaks you out and anoints thy forehead with pure oil like the kings of yore, be a kingly human being.

go out. do not return
until one act of kind is performed and
count that as a thousand blessed, a sum recurring recounted

walk humble and the path will always appear.
walk contented for you can be both king and servant,
there is no difference - you must be both to be the other
one.

and if you still cannot raise the head,
call me.
that would be a blessing for me
and I will hear your blessings sounds mine merge,
dear friend and no more stranger,
that is the simplest definition of our learning to count to
infinity
4:00am I read your cry on facebook

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.

Do you know what I love about our love story?
It did not happen.
It did not happen in reality.
If we scavenge history for proof of us, there won’t be any.
We never existed.
We were never alive.
Because our love was some place else.
Some place where no one could ever look.
We were just characters in that old lady’s dream, weren’t we?

Can I kiss you
I have waited for so long

I yearn to taste you lips
Pressed against mine

Do they taste the same as when we’re young?

Have they grown more experienced over time?

Will we feel the same electricity when they touch?

I need to known these answers
So I will ask one last time

Can I kiss you?
