Your voice feels so soothing
I could listen all day and night
You make me smile and forget
because you give me this feeling

I like the way you think about me
you believe that I´m strong
brave and have a good heart
don´t you ?

That´s why I´ll hide it
my fears and the pain
the moments I don´t smile
cause´ I don´t want you to go

But if you would see me
see me trough my eyes
you would see, I am weak
and you would leave

I miss the days of not caring,
I miss those happy nights,
but most of all I miss you
smiling under the starlight.
I am so often offended
By the brokenness of men
So let's resume the music
Clueless of the evidence
Of our improbable evolution
Mention my name to the same old songs
We are stronger now than we were then
Are we to blame for the way we came here
Standing on our innocence
Lest we defy the painter’s faith
The same old shapes are whispering again
That I am the sound that never gets found
And are we proud of our too loud relatives
Whenever jilted lovers become our mothers
In their pain and their nakedness
We forget ourselves completely

Why
Why did you lead me on
You always had doubts
Yet said you weren’t pretending
And now you’re gone..

What hurts the most
Is that you don’t care
All along it was only me
To think it was something rare

She is not gone. You have not
lost her.  She is transformed
into shine and glow and into
star stuff.  You are part of her
in some way that glistens in
the Universe.

Death is only a segment of the
cycle of which you are the
best part.  Her laugh rings
around you. Her love
transfigures you.  Listen.

The tinkling of star songs is
for you.  The sparkle in your
eye is her. Be aware that
death is a tap over your
shoulder, a smile in your
mind.

You have touched a miracle
of which you are a player.  There
is no way into tomorrow.  Today is the way to love her forever.

Today is always.

Tears like upside down smiles,
Bringing the condensation,
I bicker with the way its
Supposed to be
And when I get it right,
The tears go up,
Ironical universe and I know
That it could be worse,
Cuz even rain going the wrong way
Is still looking up.

He stands there with a passive regard.
The silence mirrors that of a graveyard.
In front of a lit door,
enters the wintry air.
Extends his arm, welcoming me aboard.
I can't stop remembering you

I pace these floor's
wishing for sleep

trying to forget
The soft curves of your lips
sipping at your hot morning coffee

the beauty of your hair
as the wind blows it about
while you sit upon the swing
of what use to be
our special place

your smile when happy
your distance when mad

Four year's etched into my heart

You don’t decide who
Will make your heart race.
The corners of your lips just
Upturn so suddenly
That you only notice your smile
When you step forward and feel
The cement  pieces
Of a shattered frown
On the ground beneath your feet.
-what the first taught me
I wonder

if I make you trip
over my foot
into a canyon

will you understand
how I feel
when you smile at me?

Not until you learn
To be kind to fellow man,
Who, unlike the sun,
Still has much to find
In the shadows cast by good
Intentions of will,

Can you thrive and will
Everything you come to learn
Be fruitful and good.
For in every man
Is a universe to find
That outshines the sun.

For under the sun,
Where immense heat halts all will,
Nothing you will find,
Nothing you can learn,
Competes with the heart of man
When within is good.

Man is all that’s good.
By man alone is the sun
Understood, as man
Utilizes will
And has tamed the beast to learn
To name what he finds.

In nature, you’ll find
It knows no such thing as good,
And you will soon learn
The indifferent sun
Has no heart, no soul, no will,
Near the likes of man.

In the heart of man
Resides all courage to find,
For courage is will’s
Resolve to do good,
As unlike the deathless sun:
Only man can learn.

Man has all the good
You can find beneath the sun,
For, by will, they learn.

Contemplating completely
Changing my heart beat

Hey all I know is
Sometimes love upsets wisdom
Nothing one can do

So let’s take a ride
Down old highway styx in hell
Hand in hand in hand

Let the Devil try
Cause we won't make it easy
To pull us apart

Unwind, call me yours
Love me like you love yourself
God is lonely too

I DON’T WANT ANYTHING
I JUST WANT
TO BE LEFT ALONE

I RESENT THAT YOU CARE

LET ME GO AND
TURN YOUR BACK ON ME
SO I CAN FIND MY PEACE

I DON’T WANT TO HURT YOU

BUT IT’S AWFUL HARD
NOT TO GET YOU CAUGHT
IN MY CROSSFIRE OF PAIN

SO LEAVE ME ALONE

YOU’LL BE BETTER OFF
NOT WORRYING ABOUT ME

AND I’LL BE BETTER OFF
NOT HAVING TO RESTRAIN MY URGES
FOR YOUR SAKE

I COULD FINALLY MELT INTO MY ILLNESS
DRIPPING INTO ONE ANOTHER
UNTIL I’M UNRECOGNIZABLE

LET

ME

GO

PLEASE

YOU’D BEST BE ON YOUR WAY
OFF IN A SEPARATE DIRECTION
TOWARD BETTER THINGS AND PEOPLE

BECAUSE I AM TIRED OF FIGHTING
SO MUCH MORE THAN YOU KNOW
AND I’D LIKE TO REST SOON

Words float in the air
They rearrange themselves into a sentence
form a picture of a train and roll away

Words shaped like balloons
They float away but will be back soon

Words hiding in a tree
Leaves fall to the ground and form sentences for me

Musical notes rearrange themselves on a scale
Fingers jumping from fret to fret
or dancing on the piano keys
These are some of the things I see

Ocean waves roll in and write on the sand
Once it just wrote, "I AM"
Seashells with words lie on the beach
In a sentence they realign
Thank you Lord for this beautiful mind

I don't have the words
Your words
The words that bring me to tears
The words that comfort me more than the man of the ocean's melody
It's absurd
How I can have all these complexities within me
Only for them to be swept away when I try to convey them
I long for your way with words
The ability to speak in an impacting way
Forgive my sense of inferiority, friend
I know you hate pedestals
But I could never envision myself atop one either
It feels great to be writing again.

Fibonacci and Kandinsky will tell you that math and art are everywhere and are essentially the same,
I’d agree-
The geometry of your hand fitting in mine is the only proof I need,
The symmetry of your face is the only thing that plays through my brain.

If I split you the same way over and over, would you catch on to the pattern?
Would you become it?
If a tree crashes down into the middle of a library does it understand the value of the silence it’s breaking?

Let me get down to your essence,
Simplify our equation,
Push deeper into the chemical reactions that make up your mind.

If I turned you into a puzzle, could I finally solve you?

“the simplest definition of our learning to count to infinity”

wrote those words
to a stranger in pain, awful pain,
asking him to count his blessings

now awful pain
no stranger to me

a pain four decades long,
that the surgeon promised was fully excised.

but today was triggered,
chest pain dagger ingredient emergency room

so I am counting for,
but not to,
counting on

infinity

when the wounding cannot be recalled,
only a minor scar to struggle from whence
came it from

which is the definition of reaching the
infinity place,

where finite comes to rest

Skin a salmon shade when she laughs.
The curly strands that frame her face
are the color of the red apple.
Her contact lenses are a bright fuchsia.
Her lips are brick red.
Her stories are tinted carmine.
Her grief is bordeaux.
She blushes in violet
and smiles in rosy pink as she
stretches her hand for a shake
and says her name is Ruby.

You see the slump in my shoulders
the way I carry myself
the burdens of boulders
that threaten my health.

When you ask what's wrong
I pull up my guard
don't want your pity or sad song
won't tell you why life's hard.

So if you want to know
I'll bottle it inside
wrap up all remains in a black bow
and tell you I'm fine.

A dark room
Full of liquor
and smog
I know he’s in there
Saying, “I’ll try tonight,
To not get drunk
To not get high,
Don’t wanna end up
like the old man,
I’ll try tonight”
“Nirvana,”
He writes
no suffer
no desire
no self-consciousness
It’s what he wants
While he’s in the state of
fear
and love
Under the influence

Saying, “I’ll just try tomorrow”

In her gauzy garments
Above the bowing trees
The moon has many lovers
In the sighing breeze.

They all take her dancing
In exotic lands
They give her sparkling diamonds
They kiss her milk-white hands.

She is round & fullsome
Or slender as a waif
When she is then waning
Her flowers are kept safe.

Silken skeins of darkness
When she's waxing full
Are parted by her brightness
She is NEVER dull!

Her beaux are all so courtly
But she eschews them all
Her only love can make her pale
She burns at his call...

She lets out her moonbeams
Through her eyes they weep
She loves the one eclipsing her
They can NEVER meet!

She, so strong within her court
Will curtsey when he comes
The moon has many lovers

But she's taken by the SUN.

We live in war
But die in peace.
Doesn't matter if your face
Is full of wrinkles
Or caked in grease.
We live in war with ourselves
With emotions
And strangers
With finding hope
When every corner you turn
You only find a new danger.
But death is proof that war can end
So don't give up.
Stay strong, and know that you won't break if you bend.
