so you can pull them over yourself,
on a cold day
and always remember,
Its me keeping you warm.

some of us
never get to stop treading
and some of us
have to learn to breathe water
through the waves

and some of us
look **** good in coconuts

some people call us strong
maybe even survivors

but we just do what mermaids do
just
keep
swimming

I am doing a set of poems or lines from poems nicely printed on equally nice paper stocks for etsy or other platforms and I'd like to know which poems or lines from poems might suit that. Up for a little dance down poetry lane?

Or
Was it your smile?
Maybe
It was your voice!
I'm just asking myself what was the reason my heart chose you

I have switched off the fans, the air conditioner
covered you with your blanket
And have stared you unconditionally.

Teary eyes?
Walking; Eating ice cream.
Never stops leaving some of it on her face.
I can't stop myself.

I will hold you and then look at you.
The lights will then fade out,
and we'll then disappear into the night.

WILLIAM WORTHLESS
i met her in a bar down in memphis teneese
she was standing there looking straight at me
with her sparkling eyes and a smile upon her face
sent the soul in me to diffferent place

then we danced together on the bar room floor
dancing cheek to cheek my heart began to soar
with each dance we had i just loved her more
such a lovely feeling i never felt before

everything i dreamed of was dancing there with me
the girl that i wished for it was meant to be
we settled down together raised a family
with the girl i met in memphis teneesee

i wont forget that night in memphis teneesee
when  i met the girl that was meant for me
her and i together it was meant to be
that i settled down with and raised a family

A friendship that will never fade
Glitters in spite of darkest shade
Like roots clasping strong together
We will grow our branches stronger

Cherish the memories we share
Taking a bath in river's bare
Lying on green grassy hill
Watching white clouds that standing still

In times I'm on the very edge
And can't control myself in rage
Solaced me with a warm blanket
Your love and care is my jacket

Our friendship, like trees clasping roots
Always go like a pair of boots
Keeping you like my treasure gold
Together till we're grey and old
This poem is dedicated to all.  It's just great to have friend/friends.
Cheers to friendship!!

There was a knife by the window.
There was a pair of shaking hands.
There was a letter he could barely read.
There was a silence in the room.
There was a coffee scented candle.
There was a broken music box.
There was a photo of a stranger.
There was the death of a poet.

If you want this night to be good,
Just say it:
- Good night.
I haven’t been to the stars,
I count my blessings with you.

I haven’t been to the moon,
I see my light of love in you.

I haven’t been to the Opera.
I can hear a perfect pitch thru you.

I haven’t reached Mt Everest.
I am on top of the world with you.

I haven’t done many things.
Except my single minded devotion for you.

Fearless
rain drops fall upon her head
try push her to the ground
but she stands tall against it all
and strength and love are found

the torment and the cold
of the never ending drops
feed her very core with life
and eventually it stops

the hardships that we face
are not always as we see
sometimes they just happen
to be exactly what we need

the pedals soaking wet
stem dripping down with tears
but still the flower stood
in lieu of all her fears

then the sun came out
as the rain began to cease
and her purpose came to light
and she enjoyed a life of peace

The sky and I
Just sit by
And watch time fly.
We watch as people come
And as people go
We watch as it starts to snow
We watch as the sun comes out
We watch as children dance around
We watch as children fall
Only to rise after all
That is us
The sky and I
Just sitting by
Watching time fly.

Sifting Through The Dross

Fire, flood,
War and blood -
It is no wonder I can’t stand
The papers and TV,
Those apps aimed right at me,
The dearth of quality,
The deprivation, loss of lives,
The angst it gives.

Preferring comedy,
Cartoons by Disney…
Am I cowardly?
Maybe.

Fixated on the negative but well aware
Of heroes all around each day, each year,
Deeds of goodness and devotion,
Yet, there is this bleak emotion, yucky fear.

Another factor is the greed:
The pressured need for growth and profit.
Prophets sow salvation’s seeds.
Many listening, few that heed.
With much to win and much to lose,
One mostly feels the costly loss.
But sifting through the dross with trust,
Stably doing what one must,
One gets a glimpse of tunnel’s light,
Decides it’s worth a willing fight
And pushes on through restive night.

do your words have any meaning?
I can't seem to get the gist.
I have been doing too much dreaming
that is my cross to bear, my mind insists
I'm kind and selfless, I am supposed to be that way.
The heart is vigilant and restless, it struggles every single day.
To stay polite and quiet, fragile.
To be like they invision me inside.
To their perfect little angel.
I swear I couldn't. even if I tried.
I am myself without pretending
It's not as hard as you may think.
The people's lies are neverending.
This is the hardest f*ing thing.
I need the truth, I won't take liars
I won't be playing guessing games.
Come tell me all about desires
We might be feeling just the same.

I dreamed of skin

as petal soft,

a fragrance gone

and lips remember.

I dreamed of skin

in jealous eyes

like water flows

across her thighs

and lips remember.

I dreamed of skin

painted in rose

desires drawn

across her bed

and lips remember-

Because the earth’s round
Doesn’t mean it’s  having a ball.

Because waves crash
Doesn’t mean that they aren’t in control.

Because the sea is deep
Doesn’t mean that it’s thoughtful

Because land meets the sea
Doesn’t mean that they agree

Because you float my boat
Doesn’t make me the captain.
Five little ten worders to ponder.

I don’t know
If I believe in soulmates
Or fate

But if you told me
That something
Or someone
Had planned for us to meet
And made each of us
For the other

My darling I don’t know
If I would be able
To argue

You are
Everything I always dreamed of
And
Everything
I could’ve never imagined

Sometimes, I feel
that the modern world
has traded love, for clarity...

has traded flowery gardens,
for deserts.
has traded stars,
for a picture of stars.
has traded dance and songs,
for analysis.
has traded ecstasy,
for mere control.
has traded heart,
for mind.

has traded life,
for death...
