On the edge of sleep you are the moon
suspended in a midnight sky
shining among all the stars in heaven
A ’twinkling in your eyes

You are my Sunday morning
sharing skin between the sheets
And lazy afternoons
That leave me full, complete

You are a life long journey
A path that leads me home
A fire to stir my passion
The only one I’ve known

You’re whispers in my coffee
Sweet echoes are my cream
You‘re the rage of lustful yearnings
In my silent movie screams

Just like a speckled puppy
You bring me youthful joy
Like a candy coated confection
That leaves me wanting more

You burn with fire and flame
That robs me of my sight
You’re everything I long for
An ageless guiding light

You are a timeless vessel, dear
The maker of my sighs
A keeper of my secrets
The flame I can’t deny

You are that haunting melody
Rewinding in my head
A bold and tasty morsel
That keeps my hunger fed

In dreams…you are the moon, love
Sweet whispers in the night
You settle on my pillowslip
To make all my wrongs seem right

Proper words to fill your lines

Touch each flower, smell
the fragrance of freshness and
the sweet desire that arises.

Like life it's sweet, it's
lovely, what lies deep tells
the story of treasures not
yet seen.

Roads traveled never
play a fair hand at times,
only new changes of
lessons learned, make
each road easier to
travel on.

While you find yourself
don't forget to pass some
of your wisdom on!

So much deeper
Your beauty
So much bigger

In this light

Than any sunset
Any night.

I'm seeing blue
and I'm seeing the room move again.
So you called the cops
and cursed at my step-mother.
It wasn't your fault
It's the voices that are in your head.

Let's rob a bank
you, me, and a bits of help
call your gang
and the movie-man

let's throw all blacks
and wear some masks
maybe then they won't trace us
from the blurry vision of the gas

let's run and laugh
hit the ground and won't back down
hold each other's hands
while chased down by the red-blue lights

let's take the money
and throw the bag in the back of a shack
and we can have an adventure pack
in the middle of the sack

hey you,
let's rob a bank

I gave you a lot,
you took it for granted.
I gave you my heart;
you left it so damaged.

I gave you my love,
that you couldn't manage.
you left and then broke me,
as you then start to vanish
this was lyrics from a song i made into poetry hehe

"Why'd you do it why'd you leave
Why'd you help me find my feet
Why'd you guide me blindingly
Then turn and say goodbye to me
All this time I tried to be
The person you applied to me
This lie you feed that I'd succeed
Is why I'm me, a dying breed

You saved me, you made me
And through it all you changed me forever
You love me, you hate me
And through it all you changed me forever

Through it all you changed me
I'm not the same me
For better or for worse this person that you made me
Through it all you changed me
I'm not the same me
For better or for worse you changed me forever"

Because the earth’s round
Doesn’t mean it’s  having a ball.

Because waves crash
Doesn’t mean that they aren’t in control.

Because the sea is deep
Doesn’t mean that it’s thoughtful

Because land meets the sea
Doesn’t mean that they agree

Because you float my boat
Doesn’t make me the captain.
Five little ten worders to ponder.

Alone in the wood,
A littered river flows ahead.
Smoke, like silver lightening,
Spark memory's dread.

Like a fruitless tree
Shamed and uprooted,
I'm unholy sanctum
For Human Woodpeckers.

My wood is all I have.
Unbarked by the airy, sharp, monosyllabic
Pecks of my half-beloveds,
My heart shrivels.

Fire, cigarettes, and smoke,
Friends and lovers. Inanimately
Present for me.
Cackling, kindling, dead Bark.
I’m drawn to the universe you made
being a foregin I don’t mind
learn your languange I will.

My fangs grew overnight
And when I tried to hide my smile
It poked my lower lip
From it, a bit of blood dripped,
It tasted sweet.

I walked over arched bridges at night
The ones, that mold around the moon light,
My fangs were longing for a match
To graze your lips, your mouth to touch.
On you, to latch.

The knock woke me from my deep sleep,
I heard some kids say trick or treat,
I realized it's Halloween!
I gathered candy from under couch
I didn't need my plastic fangs
I had my own and the costume matched...

These words are for me,
For I'm the one who's hurting,
I'm just healing myself.
I often wonder why we can't understand other's poems sometimes, but deep down it is the one who writes it knows the value of it.

I’m tired of people dying
Of all the loss in this world

She was lost years ago
To the cancer in her body
Her ashes spread in the sea
Resting where she loved

I’m tired of people dying
Of all the loss in this world

She was lost way too young
The water too deep for her
Stuffed animals on the alter
Two years wasn’t enough

I’m tired of people dying
Of all the loss in this world

He was lost last week
When he fell too far
Only eighteen years
Sister said “see you soon”

I’m tired of people dying
Of all the loss in this world

She was lost long ago
Her heart beat blocked
A daughter, a sister, a niece
Just SMiLe, you’ll be okay

I’m tired of people dying
On October 11th, 2019 a boy I graduated with passed away. At his funeral his twin sister said “This isn’t goodbye. This is see you soon. I love you. I’ll see you soon.”

Ode
Sunshine guides my vision

away from the shadow play
of giant cottonwoods and maples,
as a north breeze gently unsettles
them. Clumps of swaying branches.

Shadows, like portrait paintings,
fall onto the pavement. Such marvel.
I must write about it -- an ode
to darkness, yin to the sun’s yang.

But soon I see the face of Pablo Neruda.
Wise, whimsical, a piercing gaze.
Of the ode, he is all-knowing. I follow
the sunshine back -- today, empty-handed.

Because sometimes,
paper is the only one
who listens.
I thought
My long wait is over,
The solution found
I need no longer pay heed
To the approaching footfalls
Nor listen to the old songs
Or stories often told;
Now,
A voice, loud and clear,
Asks me to retrace my steps
And commence the beginning
That began with me.

no Capitalization when I begin

Who'll know?
Where a question mark
No longer goes

Warp the structure
Bend the lines
Put in repeat
Let emotion unwind
Make yourself
Your poetry's the best
Be your own ruler
Pass your own test

Take your own road
Where ever it leads

today,
I wore it again
and people complimented me
they say red is my color
and it suits me.

today,
it's too thick and dark
did I overapply
no, it's the right amount
just enough
to make them think
I'm fine.

today,
I look at myself
in the mirror,
and they're right
red shines on me,
so I applied
another layer,
and another
until my lips felt too thick,
but my eyes still see
the scars beneath it.

If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.
