As a cloud torn apart
by vicious winds,
unable to mend, adrift in tatters
upon currents of cold convention.
Eager to pour out; envious of rivers
into broader, deeper seas.
It is about timing
and the willingness to act
I had the willingness but never the timing

Half of it is grace and the other is your own hand
Hannah Lurie Bowen
I’m sad, I’m numb
I’m lonely, I’m numb
I’m in pain, I’m numb
When you’re with me
I’m happy
When you’re with me
I’m loved
When you leave
I’m sad, lonely, in pain
I’m numb
The things I used to say
About Time
All my preconceived notions
Like salt in water
They dematerialise

You are right for me

Like ripples forming in stale water
In perfect rhythm
Not because they have to
But because it just is

You are right for me
"Can you hear it?"
                                                                                                            "Sorry?"

"Shhh, quiet. You might ruin it."
"Hear what? There's nothing to hear..."

"You can't see laughter.
                    You can't touch sadness.
Yet they're still there," She said.

"There's always something there,
you just got to search a bit harder,
                                                                  that's all."

I just want to loose myself in solving the maze of true love
I just want to loose myself in understanding the mystery of true love
I just want to loose myself in finding that one soul of true love

A hero gone
That was born
A leader lost
That was found
Sweet honey in a calabash
Fresh wine in a gourd
And a raindrop in the ocean
That was not lost
A ray in the sun
Shining across the globe
You stained your white garments
To save your motherland
You tore your green apparel
To defend the course of freedom

You remain a woven nest upon the maple branch
Eagles, doves, and many more
Found refuge in your reign
Fond memories of you still linger on
Happy days of laughter somewhat covered the mourn
The sun will rise and set unend
So shall you remain in hearts forever

Together we drift
Floating high above our sphere
Surrounded by love
we reach new heights
there’s trees that stand tall and wave
from some lofty place where
their tips touch the clouds
where they bathe in air and light

and jealousy runs into the ground
twisting and churning under your feet
and the bugs march on
and the bats never sleep
and the monkeys are out for blood
and there’s no sweet song

to blanket your ears from up above
but there’s vines and places to climb
go on, then
hold on tight

What we hate in others we often hate first within ourselves. Projections get old and the light eventually burns out. Face the darkness, let it die.
the moon is my friend
she cradled me in my past life
she handed me to my mother when it was time for a new one
she gave me fruit when i was younger
sometimes she leaves
but she always returns
not all of them are about stars and stuff i promis

It was a fleeting moment
that took me with it
With the waves a sea encounter
A spectre of eternal tides
Swallowing my hollowing pride
They say pain
makes poetry
so I wondered why
I hadn't been writing
then I remembered
pain is not what I'm feeling
it's what I'm yearning
in all this feeling
of numb
Reach the light
Look at stars,
They are so far
I catch a shooting star
to burn fire
in my heart.

I know what I want
In me, someone
tryna be number 1 #
be the only one
great as the sun.
I know it's so hard
a pillar wish to fly,
the winds wants to find
where it belongs.
Nothing will be wrong
to follow what we love
And I'll be strong
to reach the light.
I haven't written a poem for long time
in life there're a lot of things to carry and I was kinda confused.

I kissed a girl with a broken smile;
nothing could come near.
She carved it with a pocket knife;
slit from ear to ear.
And she wears it like her favourite scarf;
it keeps her from the cold.
So I told her its only woven by
her enemies of old.
i don't want other people to have the same epiphanies i do.
i want to be special and unique, even if it's only in my thoughts.
there is a girl in a garden
who sits under a dying tree
sometimes I look out the window
and she waves or smiles at me

frost paints over the window
cobwebs fill the room
and still the girl in the garden
sweeps away the gloom

I've never spoken to the girl in the garden
I couldn't if I tried
but her smile is a sight to see
even if she's long since died
Looking out over a Mountain View
was my idea of escaping.
But my feelings of
my shortage of happiness,
and my lack of love
only grew.
It’s wasn’t an escape.
It was emotional poverty with a view.

Inside you

is where I want to

within the folds

of your mind

the sweet softness

of your soul,

as I release my love

deep within you.

You swore you wouldn’t hurt me,
And I swear the ache in my bones is all your fault.

Or maybe it’s mine?
For giving in too easily,
For giving you too much of my heart.

And you know I’m terrified of drowning,
But this silence is consuming me.
Swelling my lungs.

This keeps happening,
Like the sun sets and the waves crash...
People keep leaving me.
Whether a comma, or colon:
Punctuation slows my rolling
I need no period. When I end
no Capitalization when I begin
Rulelessly I flow my art
  Not a single!
Exclamation mark
Are you not the one
Who'll know?
Where a question mark
No longer goes

Warp the structure
Bend the lines
Put in repeat
Let emotion unwind
Make yourself
Your poetry's the best
Be your own ruler
Pass your own test

Take your own road
Where ever it leads
Lover or hater
It's all poetry!

Strange, the Hellopoetry computer demanded I put two stars on this poem to repost it to the front page... But it was worth it, it’s been on here for over a year now, I appreciate it Elliot.

No matter who you are
You have my deepest respect!

All is vanity
The meanings of passion
The aesthetic expression
The lines we draw and stay within
Even love is beyond intent
Vanity transcends
Flowing from our pens
And so we breathe again
I always find a way to disappear
because that's what they did to me.
I can't say it's wrong or right
but it's what comes natural to me.

Dandelion sky
Full of awesomeness to grasp
But too high to reach
Dear me,
Don't just sit
Rise, and pursue greatness.

Don't just watch
Go after what you want.

Don't just exist
Strive and start living.

Don't just dream
Work hard and aim for success.

Don't get tired
Keep hiking until you get to the peak.
Sheila Haskins
I dreamt of you last night
You were laughing in the light
I was laughing with you too
We had nothing else to do
We never looked ahead or behind us
I’d forgotten how life could be
Sparkling easy and free
Now I don’t do very much
Routine chains me, keeps me in touch
With reality such as it is
I do miss you and the fizz
You were my bottle of champagne
In my dreams you will remain
I dreamt of you
Yes I dreamt of you.......

Last night

I haven't wrote in a while and my words fell silent
But the war in my head still remains violent
I've changed so much and come a long way
Pushing through day by day
I've missed these poems, they kept me sane
These poems I write take away the pain
I am the deep, the sky in reverse
I have what you seek, for better or worse

I am the blue of infinite depth
I've swallowed the crews and cleared the decks

You are afraid or maybe intrigued
Of the place where you played and also was freed

Kiss me now like you did before
Give me your vow and the ocean is yours.

love is a hurricane
it begins as a light rainfall
a soft heart beat
a light footed dance
and then the wind picks up
and our desires grow
and the dance becomes fast
and the need to be in the others touch
can leave you broken
and shattered in its wake
They’d waited too long to say

“I love you”.

3 words. 3 syllables.

Yet they held millions of emotions unspoken.

and now that they’d done it, they wouldn’t,
couldn’t, stop

they told each other all the time. In the end of the argument and before the good news.

In the middle of the storm, even though it was hard to see, and after, when the raging winds had settled on a breeze

before the rising sun turned the sky pretty colors and after it flickered out and faded away into the dark

Underneath the stars that their love had been etched into

There was no love until death for them. Because it would never stop. Their love was beyond. It rose above any border that would dare to try and stop it. There was no finish line

because they were each other’s end game.
I know you.
Sometimes you say things, expecting that I won’t understand, and I think it’s strange because
I know you.
That’s what this is. I know you,
And I want you,
And I care about you
Don’t want no one else.
You might not know me,
The stanchions you use to prop yourself up eating all that I have fed you,
In the darkness,
In the night,
But I know you.
And I want you anyway.

The flowers keep wilting,
For they know that you’ve gone.
They sing out their lonely, heartbroken song.

They long for your touch,
And care,
Breathing your water,
They thirst for your air.

They live out the days,
In their milky white vase,
Murky water subsiding,
Reflecting your face.
Crystal Freda
Why is poetry dying
when we still have the gift?
If we still have water
then we still have a ship.
We can sail to the places
these words take us.
We are still shaken
by the words that make us.
Why should we let poetry die
when there is so much to explore?
If only people read it
and discovered more.

Why do we always love what we can’t have?... #D

By design, you put roof over me
By nature, I need the sun
I poured myself
inside your cup
pretended to be tea
your lips pursed to the rim
burning kiss
bile churns
you forgot
I'm made of sins

To this day,
your name
still hurts my tongue
but I still say it anyway.
Sometimes I like to
hear my soul
gently tear itself

Be a sunflower.
Turn towards someone.
Help them.
Guide them.
Nurture them.
Your warm radiating energy will do.
Hug them.
For they need it.
