My first world problems continue,
Baffled by the  washing  machine,
It    probably   has   more  buttons
Than a knock-kneed, pearly queen.
What    is that        flashing   icon?
What does   that number   mean?
What     is a   sensitive  spin cycle?
And will my boxers come out clean?
The face in the mirror
the look in the eye's
that reflection ain't me it's just a disguise
the fading of hair
the wrinkles that bend
it's just a life story that's told on my skin
this man in the mirror he ain't really me
their's a child inside that want's to be free
that woman of mine you could say she's the same
sometimes in the covers we laugh and play games
but as I get old and my life bears thin
I think of the fun
and think of the friends
so you could say i'm kind of bold
it's just a part of getting old
A poem my dad wrote on his 45th birthday
we all thought it was funny but truth is
I think it was the greatest one he ever wrote

Your writings
are macabre
in thought

You never

You died
but known

It was not worth the price

I love Robert Frost because he wrote about nature. I love the outdoors, change of seasons, plants and trails.
But, for rhyming and timing, the way he put poems together. I believe Mr. Poe was the greatest poet I ever read.
I do not share his view on life but no one wrote like him.

She was beautiful
I couldn’t even look at her eyes afraid I’d stare forever if I did
I don’t know what it was that made her amazing
Plain and boring a normal person you’d never think twice about but
She was beautiful
And that was suffocating
I hate attractive people because most don’t realise and I could see them in a crowd and fall in love
When I was a child,
I was taught poetry wasn't mild,
It was deep as the sea,
And it seemed truly unachievable for me.
I was taught poetry had to rhyme,
Every single line, every single time.
So poetry seemed out of my reach,
Like chasing a seagull down a beach,
Jumping ever so slightly away,
Or soaring into the sunny day.

So I never thrived for what I thought would,
No, Could
Never be.

I guess now I'm fixing the mistakes of past me.
act happily
& smile nonstop
keep the tone steady
& don't let the façade drop
keep it going
even just for a few days
& on the 7th evening,
go to a secluded place
take a small ladder
along with a knotted rope
tie it on the bar
& don't forget your note
dress cleanly
to make sure everything's good
& never say goodbye
to be misunderstood
I’m coming back to you
I always do
No one compares to you
You know that

We’re bound by the strongest invisible rope
We venture to opposite ends
Lose ourselves at times
And swing back to each other in the end

I can’t explain what we have
It’s beyond this world and many more
Cultural boundaries hinder our actions
But no one can stop the unseen

Hoping we can finally rest
My face close to yours
Giving you my breath
I’m inhaling yours
After all this, I'm going to be happy
After all this, I will find my way
After all this, I will come back stronger
After all this, I will start to love everything
After all this, the hate will be gone
After all this, everyone will celebrate
After all this, I will belong to you forever
After all this, life will be better and easier
I’ll fade to you,
In the Sierra Nevada blue

Your emerald eyes,
I will never recognize

Chasing the dawn,
Drawn the swan

Of our flourishing love,
Venus envies our dove

I want to drown in your heart,
I sincerely hope you’re smart

Interlock and chain,
Your pain in my geometric domain

I’ll solve it like my upcoming exam,
Acing it before you say “Aries and Uncle Sam”
Virgos love the best ;)
My poems are going mediocre again...sorry about the lack of inspiration.
P.S. Will look into this after med. school in 20 years...
*I took college geometry as an eighth grader; it was a breeze, honestly.
**My first (and probably last) horrible attempt to write a love poem to nobody in particular.
***I consider love to be honorable; no one deserves to have their heart broken by someone selfish.
The last note is especially dedicated to @sadnspicy0 and @Owen.

The painful truth is
  (undeniable / dawning)
  (most / many)
young people won't
  own their own house,
  have a stable job

They've been brought up

by generations that lived
lives that were
much more similar
to their own parents'.
The future, now

Sing with me
With breaths wild and ablaze
On the rooftop, overlooking
The snowy escape

Come with me
Under trees with lanterns adorned
The sugar of maple sap,
The fresh light of morn'
cosmo naught
my very favorite thyme plant,
it never went to seed.
Well hey, maybe me either dude
let’s just enjoy the leaves
Is it the words whispered
in secret corridors
i love you

are they proclaimed boldly
from roof tops

Or maybe love
sounds like laughter
giggles shared only between two

what if love has no noise
its beauty is similar to a sunset
seen and felt
but never heard

i trust in you and you love me

maybe i'm scared, here and there
i, then, close my eyes and speak to you

you, then, answer me and calm me

You guys good?
Lift your skirt a little
Show us a bit of what you've got
Under your vowels between your aspirations
and your imagination is not in these words is it
is it in these woods when we hear what we are
all are skittering about with some explanatory look
become explained away when the sound rains down
inside the cellular convulsion i'm poking about for
If only you could hear my pain,
You would hear my cracking joints and screams, in vain.

If only they changed colors; You would see three: Black, Red, and Blue,
Covering my body through and through.

Alas! It doesn’t work that way,
So, I have to get up from my bed.
Put my make up and pretend,
This isn’t that bad or, it’s not the end.

But the tears trickle down, out of control,
Silently, no noise that you can hear.
A trickle dripped down on my cheek,
I see round a drop of pink tear.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems like *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.

Break my bones;
cut my throat.
Pull me open,
learn the ropes.

Breath me in;
taste the fear.
Shank my skin;
stand and cheer.

Kick my head;
let me bleed.
Unbolt my veins;
enjoy the read.

Gouge my eyes;
punch my face.
Wrap me up
in your embrace.
Get to know me like I do you; inside and out.

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.
An ounce of action can crush a ton of fear
In the vast expanse of sky,
There was a silver lining.
No tongue began to speak of joy,
And no face was smiling.
Then everybody realized:
A silver lining is nothing.

When she moves her eyes
She won't give me
Any alibis

She tells me
She doesn't have a tale to tell
But I know her
And it's just as well

One day I'll say the right thing
And she will let me in
And then she will tell me

I am
driving as
the dappled sunlight hits me
in the face
and it
becomes so visibly
clear to me in
this one moment that
With such deep
Ebbs and flows,
Valleys and climbs,
Must be felt
Broke my wings
So I couldn’t

So I stole his soul
So he couldn’t

They say
parents are there for you
where were they
when I needed them
I was hurting
I was screaming for help
They didn't hear
I have become numb
To the pain
I have given up
