On this gift of space,
we maintain a garden
where grows many kinds of seeds,
some flourish...some die...some
are stunted...they just don't grow,

we do what we do best
in this garden
we try to be better,
even when on a standstill,
or when snugs pop up
and distract
we stray from focus...but,
try to get back on track
we...........persevere,
and along the way, we inspire,
and enhance others, too,

we're on the clouds when fruits
of our labor are appreciated
for, high up there is a temple
most of us aim to reach
...to experience some glory
.....to taste sweet water
from the fountain of fame,

but, its flow...dries bit by bit,
winds of change blow, to remind,
there are others, too, in the line,
waiting for their share of drink,
we move over...we give way...
but, we don't stop planting
we just lie low, at times, disappear,
then start down there........again,
like a newcomer........persevering,
aiming for the temple.......again,
not as eager as the first time,
....but, just savouring
the blissful feeling,
........when it comes...

(Already seven years last March,
and still moving about, in this
  garden called Hello Poetry...where
various kinds of poetry are posted,
and the best poets, who're friends, too,
have come and gone...come back, then
go again...there are those that are still here
...how i love and miss them all...)

Your laughter trickles
down the glacier
of the cold hills
of time.
Into the
earthy elixir of
life, merging the
bespoke elements of life
I love observing nature

At first I wanted to please you,
I gave in just to appease you.
But your requests were at my expense
And your complaints began to stretch.
It wasn’t just the things I did “wrong”
But who I am, and what I said
Then you changed what I had meant,
And put crazy worries in my head...

        Standing tall and proud
running snot nosed in the dirt
        Laughing long and loud

I love you
I am with you sailing on oceans,
I am with you climbing to mountain tops,
I am with you in a space shuttle to the moon and Mars,
So will you find apart of me under a rock on Mars?
So will you find apart of me under a rock on Mars?
So will you find apart of me under a rock on Mars?
I am with you on a journey to Proxima Centauri b,
I am with you on a journey to the edge of The Milky Way Galaxy,
I am with you on a journey to The Andromeda Galaxy,
So will you find other parts of me on your journey's?
So will you find other parts of me on your journey's?
So will you find other parts of me on your journey's?
I am with you to the earth is no more,
I am with you to the Sol Star says goodnight,
I am with you to the universe turns into night,
So will all parts of me find each other before that darkened day?
So will all parts of me find each other before that darkened day?
So will all parts of me find each other before that darkened day?
I am with you always to the very end of all things,
I am with you always to the very end of all things,
I am with you always to the very end of all things.

No gods, no fate,
not even yielding to chance
To live this one life
in full acceptance:

This will only happen once!

A stubborn strength
born of a conviction
That there is no soul
in need of absolution

That life is not made meaningful
by abstract metaphysical contortions
in favor of a jealous,
angry, cruel
deity
Purportedly in love with creation

Such is the choice of the humanist
in staunch opposition
to the zealot, the spiritualist
To stand on one's own feet
Acknowledging the grand mystery
Not willing to submit.

throw paper-cutout images
against my white-walled shiny life.

words we can’t say lick like flame.
The edges of my reality
curl when I read your name.
Dipping my toes....

I have never thanked you,

what does it feel like to be held
not by another body
not by a set of limbs, a chest, a chin
but
by another soul

what does it feel like
to see truth in another pair of eyes
instead of hidden intentions
instead of absence

what does it feel like
to hear a familiar heartbeat
resounding next to your own
reaching through skin
through bone
two rhythms
indistinguishable

what does it feel like
to write poems about
a love that exists

Your words float around me,
A charming melody-
They pay homage to my senses,
Wrap me up, and set me free;
But my heart aches of its own accord
It never leaves me be.

It reminds me of the time before,
Time spent in the dark-
But time with you jars my soul;
I've gotten back my spark.

I look up the skies,
And I saw the clouds.
I look at your eyes,
It's not me you want around.

I felt the urge to apologize,
Cause its only now that I realized.
I'm sorry for the times you wasted on me,
Instead with the girl you like to be with.

As I walk away from you,
Please take it as goodbye...
I'm letting my love go,

cut my throat.
Pull me open,

Breath me in;
taste the fear.
Shank my skin;
stand and cheer.

Unbolt my veins;
enjoy the read.

Gouge my eyes;
punch my face.
Wrap me up
in your embrace.
Get to know me like I do you; inside and out.

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out

REY
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.

I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.

We are two different worlds
And it *****
I wish I wasn’t
Wish I was better suited
We both deserve better
But the world plays games
I can’t tell if she knows
or if she's even into me
Or if she’s just creeped out
Because, different worlds
But I want her… badly
and I'm afraid she knows
not that it stops me
a boy still dreams
I want to ravage her like there’s no tomorrow
I imagine her whispering my name in the dark
Her blonde hair dangling over my face
Her eyes trapping mine
her smiling shining in the darkness
She smells like a garden in my dreams
She always wears black
But I see her in a white dress
Her hands soft against my face
They melt me with her heat
I swear…
I’m afraid she’d be worth every consequence
I’m scared because I wouldn’t regret her
She paints her lips in a glossy pink
Reminds me of donut frosting
But they’re probably sweeter
And in a more natural
Addicting way
Not that it would stop me otherwise
I’d wanna kiss her
Even if she made my teeth hurt
She paints her nails blood red
I pretend it’s my blood
From digging them into my back
****, she caught me
I’ve been staring at her nonstop
“What you thinking about?” She asks
And I shrug her off
“Just thinking about something…
You know...”
She laughs, and I laugh
And we pretend it’s not weird
But you know

I LIKE TO SAY YOUR NAME

I like to say
your name

when you're
not here

turn you
into sound

conjure you out of
thin air

so that you appear
before me

dressed in sound
only

memory sketching in
the rest of you

as if sound
was just an outline

and love
colours you in

adding the voice last
so I can hear you say.

"Hello you..!"
and there you are

as present
as present

can be.

I like to say
your name

when you're
not there.

(This poem can be sung to the melody of "Strangers in the Night," by Bert Kaempfert, Charles Singleton, and Eddie Snyder)

COVID'S in the air.
It's so distressing.
Though we know it's there,
It keeps us guessing.
Keep avoiding crowds.
That's what is best to do.

Don't let down your guard.
Just keep on trying.
It is not that hard.
(And it beats dying.)
We must do our part;
The country counts on you.

We know droplets fall
When we talk and yell--
Especially aerosol--
When we laugh as well.
We have learned so much.
Safety is--as many say--
A scarf or simple mask away.

And since it's in the air
When we are talking,
And maybe lingers there
When we are walking,
We must all beware,
For COVID's in the air.

Safety is--as many say--
A scarf or simple mask away.

Since it's in the air
When we are talking,
And maybe lingers there
When we are walking,
We must all beware,
For COVID's in the air.
