I laugh, I smile, but I cry myself to sleep hoping that tomorrow when I rise, the sun greets me, sees me, forgives me.
I ask the rainbow to give me colours for my heart but the rainbow isn't here yet, coz the sun forgot to rise.
Why? Why me? Was I strong for too long? or is the world too tough for me? Why the next sunrise I don't want to see? Is it okay to cry? The sky does it too. But the sky has light to glow after the night.
Can I be cured? Can I be healed? Can I be saved? Can I be me? coz life is no more good, I want to be back, be back to where I stood to where I stood....
'TO WHERE I STOOD' is a poem from the perspective of a person facing depression.
The eyes of an eagle. The breath of a snake. The sound of a cat and the ears of a dog. You are unique. Fire as bright as ember burns through you. Along the icy cold chill of the winter months as it cools your nose. Be your best self. You can’t be everything at once. Be unique. Be different. Be you, and shine like diamonds. Burn like ember, chill like ice. Care like earth. Flow like water and blow like air. Work yourself into the shinning ember I know you can be.
Glow like a diamond, love like a valentine. Light up the room like thunder and burn the negativity. Light the tunnel, melt the ice. Unlock the key. Be you.
WARNING! MATURE CONTENT, CAUTION WHILE READING. *Trigger Warning*
Look at stars, They are so far I catch a shooting star to burn fire in my heart.
I know what I want In me, someone tryna be number 1 # be the only one great as the sun. I know it's so hard a pillar wish to fly, the winds wants to find where it belongs. Nothing will be wrong to follow what we love And I'll be strong to reach the light.
I haven't written a poem for long time in life there're a lot of things to carry and I was kinda confused.
I kissed a girl with a broken smile; nothing could come near. She carved it with a pocket knife; slit from ear to ear. And she wears it like her favourite scarf; it keeps her from the cold. So I told her its only woven by her enemies of old.
A hero gone That was born A leader lost That was found Sweet honey in a calabash Fresh wine in a gourd And a raindrop in the ocean That was not lost A ray in the sun Shining across the globe You stained your white garments To save your motherland You tore your green apparel To defend the course of freedom
You remain a woven nest upon the maple branch Eagles, doves, and many more Found refuge in your reign Fond memories of you still linger on Happy days of laughter somewhat covered the mourn The sun will rise and set unend So shall you remain in hearts forever
Whether a comma, or colon: Punctuation slows my rolling I need no period. When I end no Capitalization when I begin Rulelessly I flow my art Not a single! Exclamation mark Are you not the one Who'll know? Where a question mark No longer goes
Warp the structure Bend the lines Put in repeat Let emotion unwind Make yourself Your poetry's the best Be your own ruler Pass your own test
Take your own road Where ever it leads Lover or hater It's all poetry!
Traveler Tim . P.s Strange, the Hellopoetry computer demanded I put two stars on this poem to repost it to the front page... But it was worth it, it’s been on here for over a year now, I appreciate it Elliot.
Hay No matter who you are You have my deepest respect!
Vanity All is vanity The meanings of passion The aesthetic expression The lines we draw and stay within Even love is beyond intent Vanity transcends Flowing from our pens And so we breathe again
I dreamt of you last night You were laughing in the light I was laughing with you too We had nothing else to do We never looked ahead or behind us I’d forgotten how life could be Sparkling easy and free Now I don’t do very much Routine chains me, keeps me in touch With reality such as it is I do miss you and the fizz You were my bottle of champagne In my dreams you will remain I dreamt of you Yes I dreamt of you.......
Light! Ah, light. At last. The dull grey vanadium Even burns full blast! No need to breathe, Just take the heat And soon you'll never Know defeat! Victory! Victory, at last; A great pile of ashes- That is all that will last. On this meagre battlefield For all that will not yield.
I haven't wrote in a while and my words fell silent But the war in my head still remains violent I've changed so much and come a long way Pushing through day by day I've missed these poems, they kept me sane These poems I write take away the pain
Looking out over a Mountain View was my idea of escaping. But my feelings of inadequacy, my shortage of happiness, and my lack of love only grew. It’s wasn’t an escape. It was emotional poverty with a view.
I know you. Sometimes you say things, expecting that I won’t understand, and I think it’s strange because I know you. That’s what this is. I know you, And I want you, And I care about you Anyway. Don’t want no one else. You might not know me, The stanchions you use to prop yourself up eating all that I have fed you, In the darkness, In the night, But I know you. And I want you anyway.
In that very moment My fears are gone Taking all the risk I bring her close As I put her lips to mine With her startled eyes I didn't dare to move for a second For it's a pure bliss of happiness Covered with face mask
Credits to the face mask that gave me courage to kiss her
Why is poetry dying when we still have the gift? If we still have water then we still have a ship. We can sail to the places these words take us. We are still shaken by the words that make us. Why should we let poetry die when there is so much to explore? If only people read it and discovered more.
