A Slow Heyoka
They said that it would rain today
but for some reason when it didn’t

I was strangely disappointed.
Nevertheless, my jealousy pursued

like a jewel in the nightlight.
Revelling, repulsive, catastrophic.

The earth opened up and all the flowers fell inside.
They mixed with all the tar and soot and rust and then

made us sigh in awe.

In awe of how quickly a tough decision can be made
on our fates.

Suddenly, abruptly, snapping shut, an elastic
band on the door of the future.
Part of a collaborative project at a local writing retreat I attend. Its not all mine. Can you guess which parts are?

The last ripe peach will go
unpicked. Let it fall as fall
the days, one after the other,
fall into the heat of August.

Haze fills these mornings, too thin
to claim the name of fog.
There is no chill to it.
The sluggish sun hides, bides,

blurs the bounds I have set
on work and sleep and rest,
and I too must fall
into another August day.

I have seen the last fruit
tumble to the grass,
all its sweetness untasted.
The day will carry it away.

The goodness in me.
Slowly being erased.
Almost none left.
Nothing but bad.
Floating in my bloodstream.
Darkness left in my mind,

We only try to escape,
The imminent doom
But closer the date looms,
Why do I die to live,
When I live to die.

The apocalypse of man
Is near and doomsday glooms,
Forever shall come
Like a whirlwind,
And his face frightened in glum
Lies within the heart of man,
The will to live.
What if I was surviving to die?
What if we're surviving to die? Think about it.

A kleptomaniac was born,
His specialty was hearts
That he whisked away
In a real short time.

An oriental angel ascended,
Upon him she descended
In a way that changed
All of what was his.

I’d rather look out my window
To beaches and trees
Than watch men fall to their knees
I’d rather hear waves crashing
Against cliffs
Than hear men using tricks with bricks
To sort out rifts
But this is where I’m living
Men fighting men and
No first aid given
Just dragged across the floor
In an attempt to be hidden
I need to get out of this city
It’s such a pity because
I used to see it as pretty
With dreaming spires
And so much culture
But now all that I see
Is vultures
Making  me want to flee
live by the sea
And finally be free

The solitary beat
of a beating heart

The solitary heart
of a heartless man

The solitary man
of a crowded world

The solitary world
of a ludicrous dream

The solitary dream
of hideous music

The solitary music
of incoherent beats

The solitary beat
of a beating heart
A Beating Heart resonates throughout the vast fields of the universe impacting and being impacted. Consider the impact of one solitary beat.
The mind is the man
Don't let it go astray.

The mind has appetite for food
Feed it with  the right diet.

The mind is the eye of your destiny
Give to it  food of glory.

The mind is your acre of diamond
Prospect it with all diligence.

Fertile is mind than the black soil
Beware of what you plant on it.

Our lost Hen has returned
after an absence of 4 days.

Iskeroon.com is an area with
a lot of Hawks and Foxes.

So, how she survived is a
mystery, there are few trees.

With no place to perch or no
where to hide, it was bleak.

This morning, we saw her
coming up the drive, alone.

Obviously been in a fracas, she
had only a solitary tail feather,

Sticking up like a Wren, so we
decided to christen her Tonto.

Because the earth’s round
Doesn’t mean it’s  having a ball.

Because waves crash
Doesn’t mean that they aren’t in control.

Because the sea is deep
Doesn’t mean that it’s thoughtful

Because land meets the sea
Doesn’t mean that they agree

Because you float my boat
Doesn’t make me the captain.
Five little ten worders to ponder.

If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.

I love you; I am here;
I always will be I always want to be;
So take my hand because I love you.
i saw her in my dreams next day she was there
walking down the street long blonde flowing hair
then she came towards me stopped and said hello
i could feel the love as it began to flow.

i told her of my dream she had the same dream too
said the one she saw. looked a lot like you
then she looked at me with her eyes so blue
i fell in love with her i could tell she knew

the girl in my dreams she had come to me
one i always dream of that i always see
sitting my side with the same dream too
dreams we both had now were really true

we walked along together walking side by side
my hand in hers began to gently slide
then we carried on walked a little more
i had such a feeling i never had before.

then we held each other i squeezed and held her tight
holding the girl i dream of each and every night
now she was there with her arms round me
the girl in my dreams that i always see

the girl in my dreams she had come to me
one i always dream of that i always see
sitting my side with the same dream too
sharing love together with a dream come true

The best part of you  is You.

Your ability to take sadness and pain

and mold it into growth and beauty

To create peace and desolation in the embrace of the life storm

To sit in emptiness when there is chaos all around me.

I am the night thief... stealing hours from the normal day to

to exist in silence and think.

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.

I turned my wishes to verses
And sang it to the universe
And to my surprise, my desires
began to appear before my eyes
She must have enjoyed my tune,
My words & reality, she attuned.

Speak your wishes into existence,
Your tongue is a powerful tool
Whichever you say: "I can" or "I can't",
Ultimately becomes your truth.
Consciously pick the words that
proceed from your mouth.
Choose gracious, lifting, life-giving words.
