Sam
she told me her saturn was returning
the icing on the cake
of a well baked excuse

I asked what, 'what on earth',
but she was far from it
she felt my climate change
and had jumped in a rocket

the recipe was written on the stars
and we were following it with ease
it said to turn up the temperature
but she turned 180° degrees

It is not a disease
It is not a disability
It is not a disorder

I am different

Just like everyone else
My difference can be seen by the naked eye

This difference is simple

You and I don't see the world the same
but isn't that what also makes me human?

So why does this A word make you look at me differently then
If no one sees the same world
when they look around?

The sea.
So many colours.
   Green.
       Grey.
           Blue.
All in between.

So many emotions.
   Rage.
       Calm.
            Peace.
All can be seen.

Reflections in
      mirror-black water.

Raging winds
      over restless waves.

Freedom!

Ever changing is the sea.
This is a poem I wrote about 5 years ago and recently rediscovered. Figured I'd share it.

It’s a city from the outside,
Shining on a hill
But from the inside looking out
It’s just another jail
It sometimes feels like the city walls are pressing in, suffocating me, but I can’t leave, at least not yet. Soon, though, I’ll be leaving; soon... I just have to remember to breathe long enough to get there.

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)

Time reveals
written May 25th, 2021

Time gradually reveals
treasures dear
lines of poetry
flows of water
buds on the tree

they feed the soul
if patience perseveres
polishing
raw painful shards
until they crack open
revealing glorious brilliance
that shines briefly

time dearest
just another day
another second
hold on
for time to reveal
her treasures.
Dad
Father, my dad's a good good dad
The best dad that was ever had.
No man has ever had a better
(I swear upon my life) begetter,
(Except for Christ, the only one,
Because he's your begotten Son.)

He's strong in love and family faith;
He breathes his love in every breath;
His lovingkindness knows no bounds;
The voices he loves are his favorite sounds.
He models well my Father, LORD,
And by his son is he adored.

Usually when it happens I'm upset
I fall apart and I'm crushed for a bit
Not after this time though

I just feel numb when I'm alone
Not really caring about anything much
Less myself

It's scary but I don't know what to do to get rid of this

Numbness

if ever

you don’t

feel

like you have a home,

pull me close,

wrap your arms around me,

rest your head on my chest,

close your eyes,

and feel the warmth of the fireplace

resonating from within my heart.

My brother,
You’ve another to your beautiful family
A second angel with Evelyn,
Aiden’s got a bright future to see

You and Vi deserve wonders.
Miracles; both the large and the small.
I wish a happy future for you,
And even more for them all
you gave me a word to hold onto
it got me through the night
felt nice for a while
but we both know this isn't right
keeping your distance is a crime
I know this by the hurt in my chest
someone's placed you here in front of
me as a torturing test
you've put a gun to my head and I'm asking to die
for the sake of being dead
what I would do for you to crawl out of her
and into my bed

They said,
"The most beautiful art is
looking into someone's eyes
when they talk about the
things they love.
"
And I said,
"Or looking at someone you love.
Or maybe, just maybe,
by looking at the mirror
is the most beautiful art
anyone should appreciate."
Appreciation post for myself; for you and for everyone as well. You deserve more than the world has to offer.
The memories have not yet passed
away, into an area I’ll forget. Awaiting
a time I feel fine, awaiting, always
waiting. Conscious that is no right
way to live. I’ll die anyway.

It only takes...
One...
cut to slowly fade out.

One...
rope to swing your life about.

One...
train to reach the final station.

One...
bullet to stop your concentration.

One...
handful of pills to finally shut down.

One...
step off a building to lay dead on the ground.

One...
jump off a bridge to never be found.

It only takes one thought to pick one way out
And nothing can be done to come back around...

Your smile
Places we laid in
Your touch
Always the taste of
Sweat on our trade ins

Pleasure was seemingly
Empty embraces
Drowning on our
Over indulgence
Your habit and mine
Distilled of the finest

Sweet dreams
The fix that would fix us
Left you cold
Kissed air to your lungs
Now your gone
I ask for forgiveness

It's always have said to have patience
Do your work
You will get the fruit on tym
Have patience
Every thing will be right
Have patience
Your life will be bright
But it's hard to have patience
In the very bad tym of life
as at that time we forgot to survive
We just lost our cool, our thinking ability
We just because blank
And it's tough to have patience at that time
But without patience
You can't able to reach the high height
So have patience
And every thing will be all right

I first read news of her demise on social media
She was beautiful with perfectly arched brows

She had called family and friends
To bid them adios
Before she cashed in her chips

And when the necropsy results came
I couldn't help but think
'Wow, what a brave soul'

See, I have been down that road
More times than I can count
But chickened out in the last minute

The meanings of passion
The aesthetic expression

Vanity transcends

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.

The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.

“If I change,
The world changes”.
Well, I did.
But it didn’t
Or maybe it did.
Well, I don’t know.
I am darkness.
I wear the mask of sunny mornings
But dark shadows seep around the edges.

I am storm clouds.
I masquerade as blue sky days
But the cows out in the fields lay down.

I am a somber dirge
Though my speakers play a happy song
It’s always in a minor key.

I am tomorrow.
While I can’t untangle from today
I waft the scent of yesterday.

Beware the Quiet Ones.

The Quiet Ones are the Thinkers
The Quiet Ones are the Dreamers
They’re the heart seekers, thrill lovers, and love givers
They’re the heart breakers, story makers, and life changers
The best heroes, the worst villains, the most notorious saints and sinners
Their hearts and minds are largest of all (But they’ll never control them)

Beware the Quiet Ones, because it’s Always the Quiet Ones.

The Quiet Ones will always listen, even when you won’t do the same
They’ll break your comfort zone, just to make you comfortable
They’ll never ask for favors or a shoulder to cry on
But they will always be there, hanging on every word and tear
They’ll sell their souls to save yours, sacrifice their minds to break yours
They’re the strongest, and the most broken.

The Quiet Ones don’t like to harm you, because they know too well how it feels... but don’t you hurt them.
They’ll always forgive and never forget, and they know how to aim for the heart
All they know is the past, and vengeance is their greatest weapon.
That’s why it’s always the Quiet Ones.
Whether the key to your heart or your greatest fear? The Quiet Ones will find it – Beware the Quiet Ones.

The Quiet Ones are the first to stand up, and the last to point the finger
They’ll stand up for anything, because they have nothing to lose.
They are the champions of love and hate, and if you hate to love them, or love to hate them?
That was their plan all along.
Your deepest plots or darkest secrets? The Quiet Ones knew all along. They’re four steps ahead of you – Beware the Quiet Ones.

They’ll never put you down, but believe they know how, because the Quiet Ones see EVERYTHING
They know what you did, they heard what you said - they were there
Their depth knows no end, yet they’re so empty inside

Their curses bring power, their strengths bring weaknesses
They’ll control you, even when they can’t control themselves
That’s why it’s always the Quiet Ones

Beware the Quiet Ones.
