There were days
I remembered
To put my heart on my sleeve.

The other days
I hid it
So deep inside my body
I couldn’t find it for myself.

The terror of anyone finding
Me judging me
Seemed to linger in the air
I inhaled.
Left To Rot
A thousand pairs of judgy eyes,
grey, blue, brown, green,
all colors spinning around me
attached to bitter faces,
expressive frowns.

As good as

There is a ninety-nine comma
Nine hundred and ninety-nine
Chance this is purr-fect
Said the Cheshire cat
With a wry smile and disappeared
Leaving behind the smile.

my husband sitting on my knees
in past he was so ragious
he screamed so hard he lost his breath
his passion was contagious

he tried too hard and bruised his hands
he lost his courage on the way
cause he was never suited there
he tried to get away

now there he is so nice and calm
he ain't the one i loved
I’m not the prize - he never won
I wasn’t on his draft

he ain't a captain of the sea,
or writer, or a pilot
he ain't someone he tried to be,
yet he’s so calm as violet

my husband sitting on my knees
in past we were just crying
and now the comfort of my heat
is stoping him from trying

I can't say I'm sorry for what happened before
I left because
I didn't matter to you anymore
David Lessard
I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)
Your hands

reaching towards me in the morning

a sculpture Michelangelo

casted from beyond

the grave
My bones are aching
for a tight hug
while my heart
screams thy name
to hold its every beat.

But my brain?
it's willing to die first
before it admits
and surrenders.

for it felt pain first
that causes too much

too much for the bones
to ache
and for its heart
to break.

If tomorrow never comes for me
If I shall not wake in the morning
Would you know I love you
Would you know I care

was trained on Jim's person
making ready to chase

Sometimes the world drifts out of few
And all you see is you
Standing in the rain
Feeling the pain
But you don’t always have to be tough
Hear me when I say, you’re enough

When you make a mistake
That’s okay
We’ve all been there
I mess up every day

Sure, you have your flaws
As do well all
But you care when others would just stare
You give a hand even when you’re feeling bad
And try to be fair

You can play the guitar
Write real well
And let’s be fair
You’re also pretty tall xD
wrote this for a friend lol
All that love flowing through my veins
got me sick to my stomach
I’m disgusted by how much
I loved you.
They said,
"The most beautiful art is
looking into someone's eyes
when they talk about the
things they love.
And I said,
"Or looking at someone you love.
Or maybe, just maybe,
by looking at the mirror
is the most beautiful art
anyone should appreciate."
Appreciation post for myself; for you and for everyone as well. You deserve more than the world has to offer.
I don’t want to
Open my mouth
Because I’m still afraid
The truth might come out
And if it does
If it really breaks free
You’ll see what I am
You’ll see the true me
The one I hide
With jokes and lies
I’m a terrible person
All jokes aside
You don’t seem to know it
You don’t seem to see
Even a glimpse of that person
That I know to be me
I’m such a good actress
I hide it so well
Cover it with a laugh
And you’ll never tell
You see depth in my eyes
You see love and emotion
But what would you see
If I ever did open
I can’t bear to find out
I can’t bear to show
The me you don’t see
The me that I know
If I let it out
If I let it be
I know for a fact
That you would hate me.

The time has come
To right the wrongs
To apologize
For all we've done

For the ones we've hurt
To make amends
As time draws nearer
To the end

The time has come
For humbleness
For this mess

For those we've hurt
Lacking tenderness
And ask no less
For forgiveness

The time has come
Where what must be done
Must be done
By everyone

Harmonize, apologize
Not placing or taking blame
Just saying we are sorry
For all we do and say
To finish your own life by hand,
May seem like the right thing to do.
But to free yourself from this land,
Is to imprison those that love you.

i live here on the bedrock
tunnel vision
it’s difficult to see

sometimes it’s just grey
there used to be easier ways to get out
before i became baggage
left behind, raided and rotting

a shell of what used to be there
So many poems
and stories
have gone unwritten
due to fear of not being good enough
She said "I'm falling in love."

I said "I'm falling apart."

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

i adore cold weather.
But not for the fires,
Or the warmth of another person.
I find something beautiful about it,
And maybe even a bit lonely.
It reminds me of bittersweet loss,
And finding the strength to move on.
Whether a comma, or colon:
Punctuation slows my rolling
I need no period. When I end
no Capitalization when I begin
Rulelessly I flow my art

No matter who you are
You have my deepest respect!

All is vanity
The meanings of passion
The aesthetic expression
The lines we draw and stay within
Even love is beyond intent
Vanity transcends
Flowing from our pens
And so we breathe again
When I tried
To open my heart again
You left

When I tried
To recover from that ...
I can't
I can't

I can't
I can't ...
Even though im kinda used to people leaving me
It is still painful
your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that
The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.

i sat there,
watching my blood
drip onto my hands,
and on the floor,
seeping through
the rug below me

i sat there,
and said
"it didn't even hurt"

but sadly,
that was a lie

i can still feel
the knife slicing my skin,
but i liked it
Our ancestors owned plantations
and had owned hundreds
they had ocean cruising vessels
and stocks and liveries
worth millions in city banks and safes
now we are reduced
shamed disgraced and humbled for
reds are not the new black
and fashion has changed from flouncy drills
to distressed pale genes
all stained threadbare torn raggedly and faded
like pages from old history books
tells me that I’m alive
Sunset reminds me
that I lived
