Bring your truth not your anger
Though the alter take both
A burnt offering of words
As cinders fall
Off the smoking end of my tongue
The circle is drawn
You need only write your name
With the ink in your arms
Then two
Then four
I know I have a problem
But higher I soar
Five then
Then eight
I better stop now its getting really late
What started as scratches
So light and so thing
Now craving deeper
When will it end
Why even fight
It hurts so much
Now I've lost touch
Red dribbles down
I HAVE to stop now....
Maybe one more?...
No, or I'll be on deaths door...
I can't bleed the pain away
I cant bleed my mind free...
I'm trying to stop now
But what's stopping me?....
Angered by scars
but wanting to cause more
Because if I cut just right my mind won't reel anymore...
Trigger warning
When you no longer have control
Over your
When you no longer have the independence
To speak
To move
Do you still feel the presence of love
Do you still feel the presence of right relationally with another
When you can’t translate that
Through words or actions

A stroke of lightning
Everything is on fire
What could we have done?

Bombs fall and friends die
On this day, black as the smoke
That now fills the air

That smoke fills the air
The only light we can see
is from burning ships

We will not back down
As dark as the day now looks
Brighter it will be
He wondered when his life was to begin
He wished he didn’t

It became his only wish while life left his bedsheets
Make sure that by then you’ve run out of wishes

Everyday is the same
Sleep, skip meals, snap, sleep, repeat
Everyday I’m in the same loop
And I need
To break free
Tobe Rune
I want to sit
in the flames
with you.
We don't
have to be
on fire,
but I'd like
the air
around us to
be the stage
for it
to dance.

Goodbye dreams, you have left me for the last time
Phantoms in the boxcars of my mind, screeching down track
This first taste of cold is biting at my back, and I can't run fast enough

The little brush
used to dab over words
you typed or misspoke

and that made globules
of white paint
on the page

someone's whiting out a canvas

over images and words
that have grown stale
and no longer serve them well

my lola died
and I'm so faraway

can't cry
can't scream
don't know why
numb, I seem

my lola died
and I'm so faraway

can't go home
even if I try
I'm not alone
I feel like it, why?

my lola died
and I'm so faraway
goodbye lola

Mask up my pain
Hold back my tears
I'm goin' insane

All by myself
Let the rain hit me

So you've stumbled and fell
I say get up at once
I know you don't feel well
You felt like this for months

Yet is time to get up
And dust off your doubts
We could start up a club
Me and you, we'll gather facts

There are so many reasons,
To smile and be thankful
Don't mind the rainy season,
They're hidden and they're bashful

Our challenge is to find them
They're all around us
What could be inside them
Won't ever let anything drown us

So get up at once
Dust off and open your eyes
I know you felt like this for months
You have yet to find life's precious prize
Beheaded flowers
Weary of time
Their remains unrevivable, left
Neglected day in, day out.

Bloom-less faces
Wrinkled by time
Their sent no longer perfumed, left
Wilted in murky water.

She clings hard to dry stems
As she watches their love die.
Chris Saitta
She walked out of the watercolor storm of a fresco
Like a cowl-bound form in a light drizzle of rain,
Her mosaic tiles of ancient lovers’ eyes, ceramic-borne,
Just as her hips held the curves of the urn, kiln-fired,
The coiled heat of Greece still stinging through her flesh.

For her, the treetops had been the summoners of storm,
In kind, she poured down the wet grove of her hair, electral,
Pantheress of humid breath and fanged flair of lightning,
Tamed once in the cloudy cage of Pentelic marble of the Parthenon.

But the world piled dust before her, baiting with its groveled roads,
For her black mullings, much-tasted rain, and heaven’s leaves to fall.
If only the Michelango-to-come had carved the clouds of her
For the light to remain, shining its centuries,
Then maybe the thunder would have been left undone.
They cringe when they see me
Because they ain’t me

They don’t like my appearance
But hey,
That’s a them thing

What they don’t know is that:
I’m amazing

So don’t do me like that
Because you’ll just get played
Whether a comma, or colon:
Punctuation slows my rolling
I need no period. When I end
no Capitalization when I begin
Rulelessly I flow my art
  Not a single!
Explanation mark
Are you not the one
Who'll know?
Where a question mark
No longer goes

Warp the structure
Bend the lines
Put in repeat
Let emotion unwind
Make yourself
Your poetry's the best
Be your own ruler
Pass your own test

Take your own road
Where ever it leads
Lover or hater
It's all poetry!

Who said explanation marks were merely laughing at your own joke?!

Actually my grand daughter gave me this poem!
Flora Felafel
Pain is inevitable,
Suffering is optional.
The crossroads of success,
Is always constructional.

If we could become tress,
Solid and stoic, deep rooted
In Mother Earth's flesh;
We could stand firm
Through the tempest, unswayed.

But we are only humans.
Covered in darkness.
Hiding behind our fears,
Timidly withdrawing from
The ominous tempest.

So, embrace the fury,
The daunting gales that
Once were scary.
After all, you can't
Stop the waves,
But you can learn to surf.

And even if you sank,
Deeper into the void,
At least you'll drown
Knowing there was
Beauty In The Struggle.
Be patient with me
I’m still a work in progress

Somedays I seem put together
But that paint’s not dry just yet

One day I’ll get this right
I’m sorry

rivers flow from my eyes as
you bathe yourself in them,
letting my tears water your ego

my tears watered your ego
i want to talk about you
to everyone i know
i want to shut my mouth
and keep you to myself
my heart flares up
explodes with thoughts of you
and i can't catch the words
and i can't catch my breath
Because the earth’s round
Doesn’t mean it’s  having a ball.

Because waves crash
Doesn’t mean that they aren’t in control.

Because the sea is deep
Doesn’t mean that it’s thoughtful

Because land meets the sea
Doesn’t mean that they agree

Because you float my boat
Doesn’t make me the captain.
Five little ten worders to ponder.
My newest fear is learning to forget these lies
Wish me well
I want to trace
your signature
with my lips
until I can
taste your
thankyou for making me feel something
i just wish it was less painful
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.
Everything was so horrible
That words stood beside me and gaped
At a life so cruel.
We held our flags while they held their guns
We approached them with roses yet they stained us with our own blood

More than 320 were killed, more than 12,000 were injured, hundreds were arrested and abducted, still we’re fighting.

Look for pictures, my friends. And you’ll see why words can no longer suffice in describing the tragedy happening in my country.
I know you’re there
I can feel you
pulling the desire
through the tissue thin membrane
between worlds
through my bones
porous and resilient
through my blood
displacing oxygen
through my skin
chemical annihilation

it lingers there
in the space all around me
a measured undulating haze
seeking you
it knows you’re close
it can feel you

You are the best thing for my poetry.
And the worst thing for my mental health.
I have a fascination with
all things love,
Daydreams constructing expectations
and a daily need for a thing which
I have yet to experience,
It's an obsession which has
evolved into a fear ~
Fear of a broken heart,
of a lonely life,
of distracted dreams.

~ Funny my ability to
These words are for me,
For I'm the one who's hurting,
I'm just healing myself.
I often wonder why we can't understand other's poems sometimes, but deep down it is the one who writes it knows the value of it.
I need to get you out my mind,
before I fall in love with you.
Because I know, you won't love me back.

Theres a light at the end of the bridge.
That flash of green...
It matches my heart beat.
It reminds me of you.

It was flashing when we first talked.
It was flashing when we fell for each other.
It was flashing when we talked poetry.
It was flashing when we touched each other.

It still is...
Our days are numbered.
Our talks will cease to be.
...and are we flashing?

I don't want this light to fade.
I don't want you to move on.
I don't want you to forget me.
I don't want you to leave.

Remember me.
Think of me.
Talk to me.
Feel me.

Theres a light at the end of the bridge.
That flash of green...
It will always be linked to you.
I can't help not look at it and smile
close your eyes babe
what do you see?
a starry night or a porcelain sky?
is it the shade of navy you love?
i closed my eyes and i saw the world grabbing me gently, pulling me tight and close,
while it whispers sweet nothing in my ear
i envision a love that is endless,
a heart so large that it overflows,
and a passion that even fruits envy.
so tell me darling,
have you a dream to sell me?
I am a master at lying
It is an art
I’ve become so good at it
That when I say
I am fine
I almost believe myself
keep your eyes closed love.

"keep your eyes closed love. sometimes all you have to listen is to what the sound of the waves tells you to do"

When I was much younger, beaches were my second favorite places. I still love watching waves as they go by, crashing against each other and the whole process repeating all over again.

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Frozen blades and visible exhale
Shift with the seasons
Fog lifts but turmoil sits
The wind lifts wings
The sun closes eyes
Welcome home

paper is the only one
who listens.

I was reading a book in a place no normal person would be. When I was accomponied by a lovely gal who had the same plans as me. We never spoke a word to eachother but I've never felt so understood.
