He said he's never danced without music before
He tells me that he'll miss me when he'll see me tomorrow
He said in all his life he's never been more sure
That I have an ease about me that makes him comfortable
He said, "The city lights can dim the moon,
But there exist no lights that could outshine you."
I'm still learning his emotions
What it is that sets him off
He said he's been waiting for a while
But for me this happened all at once
Trying to make sense of all the feelings that I've felt
No lights ignite the path to a heart's recovery of health
Tanisha Jackland
We were never
in control
just cunning enough
to fool ourselves
While the planet
spins on
nudging us gently
to move mindfully
in this space
no more
cars or stock
or brutality
just the clear air
of kindness and simplicity
the new way of life.

I'll say goodbye.

I have loved and lived, I have lived and sinned and my sins I pray god forgives. I try so hard to Stay away but you say no way and you pull me back in with your lies but now I'll say godbye.

I have did some things I'm not proud but all I wanted was your acceptance and love. I have lied And cheated I have cheated and lied so now I'll say goodbye

I know I was dumb I was just having fun, but I guess I got too caught up in my lies. today is the
day I am changing my ways I can no longer live in these lies. that's it I am done I hate this man I Have become so now I say goodbye.

Demons are just FALLEN ANGELS.
They fell
And unlike angels,
DEMONS have a STORY to tell.
Good and evil.
It's just two sides of the same coin.

Break my bones;
cut my throat.
Pull me open,
learn the ropes.

Breath me in;
taste the fear.
Shank my skin;
stand and cheer.

Kick my head;
let me bleed.
Unbolt my veins;
enjoy the read.

Gouge my eyes;
punch my face.
Wrap me up
in your embrace.
Get to know me like I do you; inside and out.
he listens
he listens out with his valley of doubt
and the echos aloud make a crowd in his head
he is the king
on his knees
somewhere green
I will dance
And I will spin
Until the room blurs
And the lightless gaps
Between swaying bodies
Absorb my ache
And longing

I will twist
And I will wring
Dizzily releasing
Whatever still clings
To my depleting soul
And replace it with champagne

And I will dance

I need you to settle me down
to sing me to sleep with a lullaby

stroke me to sleep in your
loving arms, emote me to peace
with ardent embraces so sure
wash me free bathed in light
as your shining stars burst more
shimmered droplets glisten bright

wrap me in your body's nurturing light
ease me gently my love thru night after darker night
dust my skin with loving tender hush
then fill me up with hot ardent crush
of your body in my body
my body on yours

I ache for you to lead me astray
in the dark under covers you & me
to be kicked aside all flung away
as our bodies soar alight flying free
fused as one by fiery heat in play

Feed me your love until I choke
blissful I will yield to your desire
breathe me back to life & invoke
with kisses of air to feed the fire
from sweet lips of my loveliest love

I need you to settle me down
to sing me to sleep with a lullaby.

One year, of love, my sweet darling, this was ,  as I know you remember,  the first of my poems you commented on, and the start of a conversation, we are still having now, and I pray, remains in play, until I draw my last breath.  I love you with all my heart, my body, my mind and soul. I am ruined forever for any other but you.  In love, for you my darling Michael. xxxx

P.S. I will post another original new poem to mark our 1 year anniversary, it us a work in progress x

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)
When butterflies fall in love, do they feel humans in their stomach?

The thing about masks is that someone always sees the string behind your head.

Can I give a girl anything
Except what she wants
I wash my hands
as the Rome burns to the ground
I smoke a cigarette at the balcony
as the city goes in lockdown

my city
my city
It's a ghost-town.
my people
my people
I am lost without.
She was so beautiful
so graceful
so filled with wonder
that the parthenon
wept at the sight
of her.
your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that
She stood on the bridge
In silence and fear
For the demons of darkness
Had driven her here

They cut her heart
Right out of her chest
Making her believe
That the demons knew best

They were always there
Sometimes just out of sight
Waiting in the background
Till the time was right

These demons were destructive
Knocking down the life she knew
Hating everything about her
She hated herself too

These demons can't be seen
But they're far from fairy tales
They live inside your mind
Their evilness prevails

So on the bridge she stood
About to end the fight
Then she stopped and thought
I'll fight them one more night.

I'm afraid
We're going to isolate
Even further than we are

If we don't get a grip
On this sinking ship
Going down for the third

Being all I, me, mine
Where we spend our time
Inside our solitary rooms

This constant creep of self
Will soon be our death
If we keep humming this crazy tune

Our social butterfly
Has up and died
Cut off in mid-bloom

The once abundant life
Took to flight
With nothing much to do

But to isolate
I'm afraid
Even further than we are

With no flotation devices left
On this sinking ship
Going down for the third
to me,
you are
an art

                              to you,
                              I was
                              a tragedy
you still remain, and will always be
a fine piece of art
to me.

he said
when you are crying
          i will dry your tears.
when you feel like self-destructing
i will sing softly to you for as long as you need.
when you are broken
i will lie with you, and we can do beautiful nothing together.
when you are wordless
          i will understand.
when you can't move
i will be there for you.
when the past is choking you
i will gather you into my arms.

i will love you through everything.
every brokenness
          every fear
                    and every "what if."

it will be you and me,
me and you,
no matter what.
Words' Worth
The panic
Is more dangerous
Than the pandemic
Everywhere I look it's being preached.
That cutting your ties and leaving your home
is the best thing you can do.
And I would love to.
But I'm not able to.
All I can do
is bring out the best in these little roads.
Or at least that's what I'd love to believe.

When I die, I will miss
A woman’s long hair in the wind,
Not a timeless thing, but a thing
Without concern for time,
The way Rome always reminds
Of Greece, and Greece reminds
Of salt air and vines.

The Restriction of Movement was extended for another 14 days.

Another 14 days to overthink this existence.
The streets are bare as
the cherry blossoms still bloom.
Life will carry on.

A walk in the woods
will still be enjoyable,
while six feet apart.

Slow down and observe
the beat of nature, for it
is good for the soul.

I get replaced so easily
you get a call
it’s too early
but too late all at once

you get a call
it is after midnight
he has the bottle in hand

you get a call
it is early morning
the pills are down his throat

you get a call
it’s one am
he tells you not to worry

you get a call
you don’t know how to feel
he says he’s done the bottle
(you don’t know if he means the pills or the water)

you get a call
you don’t know what to do

you get a call
it ends too soon

And Spring-like.
That’s how I’d describe it,
the smell.
Nose poking through door like
a dog,
pulling in soft air and the faintest
whiff of a Marlboro light.

So quiet.
And calm.
Hard to believe it,
the uncertainty.
Nose poking through door like
a truffling pig,
wafting in pillows of anxiety that
taste just like Tuesday.
I don’t know why

I’m continuing to wake up

Expecting a sunrise

When I know the forecast is clouds

Not rain, just grey and heavy

I like to say
your name

when you're
not here

turn you
into sound

conjure you out of
thin air

so that you appear
before me

dressed in sound

memory sketching in
the rest of you

as if sound
was just an outline

and love
colours you in

adding the voice last
so I can hear you say.

"Hello you..!"
and there you are

as present
as present

can be.

I like to say
your name

when you're
not there.

i bathe in serene
sleepy mountainside ledges
kissed by lips of fall
To touch a heart
is to be a part
of a work of art.
since lies are sweet
and the truth is bitter
i'm not surprised
i liked you better

Corona! Corona!
We hate you! You stink!
We all try to wash you away in the sink,
If you were a drug,
I'm sure we'd all quit,
Corona! Corona!
You're a real piece of st!

We'd rather go out
and buy tons of food
or buy the last pack of tp
(which is really rude),
buy clorox and lysol,
and clean till it hurts ,
than risk catching you
'cause F
K, you're the worst!!

Corona! Corona!
you're last on our list,
we simply can't see
why you even exist,
if you just disappeared
you'd tickle us pink...
Corona! Corona!
we hate you! You stink!

i see her
across the mirror
her golden eyes
staring back at me
she knows what must be done
it’s the end of an era
baggage from the past drags
in between her legs
heartbreak, manipulation,
betrayal, broken promises,
broken dreams, lost innocence,
anxiety, breakdowns, grief, sadness

i see her
across the mirror
my golden eyes
staring back at me
i know what must be done
it’s the end of an era
my body is itching for release
shedding itself free
i won’t claim the lost baggage
