Keep your trees, keep them for your heaven of ashen dusk
And night like the pale-faced deathmask of emperors,
No reason that the commoner to oblivion is hushed,
These old-wise woods and leaves, peopled without us.

Keep Macedonian dust lightly conquered over the breeze,
So that it shoots its tail like the centuries-sole comet,
The scorched earth left by Alexander’s mapmaker eyes,
Swung wide like his Sarissophoroi over Persian might.

Remember the lesser grove of his teacher Aristotle’s tribe,
They have only slipped their sandals off, to bare themselves
Of sound and the concourse of the foot’s impulse,
Caught the lithesome wind, to flow outside our hearing,
And muse as empire of air and loss and forgotten walks.

Keep your trees and the darkening sky through them
That remind me of the passing into the past.
Never is the poem from tongue of ***** or plow.
Sarissophoroi were Macedonian light cavalry under Alexander, so named for the pikes they carried (sarissa).

Aristotle taught Alexander until his mid-teens.

(for loved ones lost over Tehran)

The sound of shovel against snow
in a distant Canadian town

Same here as there.

Knee deep in the harsh clarity of
stark white,
thoughts turn to lost life
over Tehran.

Same here as there.

Above us muted Moon
veiled in winter's cloak,
blind to our divisions,
wears a mournful glow

Same here as there.

Screaming in my ear the sound of a mother’s panicked cries clutching her child
in those terrifying last moments
over Tehran

Same here as there.

The howl of a father’s anguish oceans away,
beloved ones lost over Tehran,
Rings helpless

Same here as there.

Another father in despair,
with shaking voice
confesses his pain is as big as the sky his son loved to fly

Same here as there.

the sound of recklessness and
twisted minds in high places targeting nations, peoples and someone's hero

Same here as there

the sound of innocent blood on ***** hands

Same here as there

the muzzling, the blame game, the smoke and mirrors

Same here as there

the agony of he who pulled the trigger

Same here as there

the tragic moment the mistake was made

Same here as there

Despair in light of truth

Same here as there

the wailing sounds of a nation grieving

THE SAME HERE AS THERE.

Dedicated to those aboard the tragic flight of Ukranian Airlines 752 -  and to their loved ones

The unforgettable tragedy that has left hearts bleeding and lives forever damaged.. all because of a reckless move by reckless so called leadership. Thank you Michael McCain all who dared to speak up

I'm back!
So sorry everyone, the last few weeks have been... a strain on me.
I am still doing my media course and all, but mentally and emotionally,
I was slipping down into a dark place. My sleeping patterns have been messed up, my nerves have been completely out of control, my self-doubt, anxiety and depression drained me so much that I found it really hard to write, so I needed time to gather myself. It was so hard for me to pick up a pen. To do anything. My smiles were hollow and I just felt so lost.

I just wanted to apologise, I didn't mean to worry anyone. I'm truly touched by the out-pour of support for me. I got so many messages asking if I was alright. I can't express how much that warmed my heart. I'm so used to people being angry at me for my silence that it usually scares me to come back. By nature, with everything I've experienced, it's made me more and more of an isolationist. To all of those people, truly, thank you so so much for staying and just being kind to me...
Really. Thank you T-T
And thank you to all my followers, old and new.
245 followers... I can't even... T-T
I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record but thank you.
I'm back now, and I'm feeling better.
It's easier to hold my pen so I will resume spilling my ink.

I'll continue the Masked Bard on Thursday, I'm free the whole day.
I have no idea of my schedule the coming week.
Again, I appreciate everyone one of you.
Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts.
Thank you for staying with someone like me.
With much love,
Lyn ***

The Great Wall of China
goes on mile after mile.
Keep walking high
rise onto roofless towers!

We have day and night
a coin has two sides.
There are here and hereafter
hell and paradise
a mundane earth
and a heavenly sky!

Walking on the wall
one might wonder
to take which side
left or the right?
Both look same now
but was built
to save only one side.

Choice is yours
turn on to either side.
There are good and evil
for the chosen better you
see what’s pops up?
Meet the sun rises high
in the silhouette of a great wall!

I did it, I wrote the best piece ever
Looking over the art my head made.

Rereading.
It's a very good poem of self-expression

Rereading.
I mean, the scheme is a little off
It sort of captures my essence.

Rereading.
Its average at it's finest
I really don't like the style.

Rereading.
These words don't even fit me
They don't have meaning at all.

Rereading, deleting,
An empty page is all they saw.

I found a diamond in the rough today
It was hidden in a garden where kids
play.
I looked at it and almost left it behind
but something told me to embrace it
so it could shine.

I found a rose growing where it didn't
belong, and when I watered it became
strong.
I thought about letting it go but
something in me said take it slow.
I found a treasure I did not know was
there and it revealed itself when you
said you cared.

Even so, I did not dare to hope it could
be, nor did I think it would unseal
the key. I found my way into a garden
of love, and now I hear the song
of the turtledove.

And got lost in a maze..
There were etheric echoes sweeping on through..
Sky trees passed on by like clouds on the move..

From their leaves fell the haze..

that captured the terror within her face,

the trace became like a hole
within her senses and heart
like a nasty big ball

she ran towards nothing !
like she was in an actual race
because, this dark lie!
put her in a dangerous case
until the trace shone again!
behind her, like a grace
and suddenly, stood up!
in front of her!
like a heaven base

she stoped, and felt sorry
when the evilness within the grace, was too sick
she licked its inner wounds so quick
until it healed, and its health became thick
but all of the sudden,
  she felt the hit!
on her head by a huge stick.

there
within this scary darkness
she left her breath with sadness
and about the evilness
that hiding within the grace soul
you can taste its gladness

Long overdue,
a woman of tennis
came out of the wilderness,
and gave birth to
electrolyte towers,
naturally no one would give her
the credit for such powers,
her smarts were seen as a threat,
so she took them to court,
(centre court),
and won, love set.

Shy and withdrawn,
the conservative librarian
won an all-expenses-paid trip
to a **** beach,
rather a contrarian,
and feeling none to comfortable,
she wore her favorite
pair of dungarees on the shore,
but everyone stared mercilessly
at her being such a bore,
ever so proudly she walked away
as a non-conformist,
she'd be naked another day,
one of her own choosing,
unapologetically,
and in doing so she found
a new friend, liberty.

Saturday's child worked hard
and won the spelling bee,
but on the prize
they just couldn't agree,
she was the best in her class,
no doubt, but still
only a girl, you see,
can you guess the word
that pushed her over the top?

Passing out coats and blankets
At Tent City on the river bank
No more room at the mission
Out of sight is out of mind
Is what town said about it's decision

The homeless didn't like being there
A cold wind blows hard off the river
A city that really doesn't care
As long as they continue to be hidden
They had no warm clothes to wear

I met a man that everyone called Poe
His real name or not I may never know
He had a million stories to tell
Everyone gathered around in the snow
A steel barrel was burning very well

"We are just like lightning bugs
We're Living in a big clear jar
There are holes poked in the lid
Without those we can't get any air"
He said while waving with his hands

He talked while trying on his new coat
"I had one just this a long time ago
When I shook hands with Kennedy
And that pretty wife of his, Jackie O
It was April 1960 I do recall" said Poe

"Boys, keep one eye on the ground
You never know what you'll find"
He stopped talking and turned around
Poe looked hard and squinted his eyes
The church van stopped without a sound

I was ready to hear more fables
But went to help unload several boxes
Serving food we set up folding tables
Hot coffee freshly brewed in paper cups
I started passing out brand new Bibles

I handed one to Poe "thank you"
He said in a voice that was shaken
"I had a Bible just like this one, it's true
Way back when I was in Vietnam"
A single tear fell from his eyes of blue

He opened the book skimming through
"It's sad when the country I fought for
Leaves us here and forgets about you"
Poe said as I handed him a cup of coffee
He took a sip from the steaming brew

We went back a couple of days later
We brought more food and coffee
I looked but Poe was not in Tentland
They said that they found his body
In his tent with his Bible in his hand

I found his obituary in the paper
Edgar Allen Poe it read in print
Congressional Medal of Honor winner
Two Purple Hearts for service in Vietnam
Awarded to him by President Johnson

In the newspaper's obituary photo
It showed a young Mr. Edgar Allen Poe
He wore the exact coat we gave him
And standing with Kennedy and Jackie O
I'll always remember the man named Poe

Any human being on the trek of life
falls are part and parcel of it
some cry and blame themselves
many shift the blame on others for their failures

In agony nursing bruises physical/non-tangible
giving up is out of the question
uncover the cause of the fall
establish your contribution in the fall
identify lessons learnt from the fall
forge an appropriate way forward

A fall confirms not the end of the road
neither proves weakness nor helplessness
what counts at this challenging time
is picking up your pieces in time
stand up, walk and run!

Remember a fall is an opportunity
you must learn from and aim for your target!
