There were segments of you through this world mirror parallel..

Increase the mystery of your smile as your tears leave behind light trails.

I can't find you anywhere..

Even though I can make the anywhere...

This control let me give in..

And it also let me reverse all of my sins..

And through all the magical haze..

You are still lost in my dream maze..

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)

I used to be so weak
Only strength I had was to lie and weep.
I cried alone, until the noises collectively made a song.
Melodic lullabies as if I were once a baby.
I never was though,
and that's so crazy.
Even a lump of diamond
will remain a diamond
even in a pile of dirt.

I tried to warn you the box was fragile.
But you held it and shook it around,
Until it became too much to carry.

Then you dropped it.

And I watched my heart
shatter on the floor.
A tire goes round and round for an eternity...
The same way my inspiration goes around your eyes...
For an eternity...
Maybe my poems belong in a tire...
I don't know...
But I can tell you...
The tire of my inspiration will never get tired...
Of writing poetry for you...
And I hope your eyes will never get tired of it...

I smooth out the sand, sticking to my ankles
I look up to you, our eyes meet
Green as the sea
Mine as deep as the trees

We know
Forever connected
Forever growing
Forever in motion

The unknown
To stand still on the sand?
To move as the tide?
Or
Do we soar above the mountain peaks?

When I was younger, I was told not to feel
"You'll just get hurt"
I listened

But then I see these people
Laughing and living

I disobeyed and felt
I was alive

But I should have listened
Now I'm hurt
Now I'm broken
Now I'm -

my breath smells the same as my sister's.
not our explicitly clean breath, nor our post-meal breath,
but the natural essence that diffuses from within that cavity.

our parents were the same so the germs- the
bacteria that populate our orifices must be related too.
twin tongues, the same undulating monuments of calcium and cavity.

do not know
the poem i've been trying to write
and maybe
that's because

or maybe it's because
the poem i've been trying to write
is not ready for paper
and maybe
i'm the paper
that's not ready for it

I stand on a cliff
Wanting to jump
But looking down
Into the endless hole
So deep
And full of pain
Remembering the memories I made
Along the way
Ending up
To this point
Of wanting to make the dot
On the last sentence of the story.

Yesterday I cried to the moon
as she wiped my tears away
made my worries disappear
so I could sleep again.

Today I smile at the sun
and it shines back on me,
what a wonderful world
to be alive;
to be me.

pouring myself into the cups of others

only to find that
when it’s time for myself
to take a sip

all that’s left
in my cup
is the remainder of a girl

self care is extremely important. most days I fight my depression by putting smiles onto others faces, but forgetting about my once bright smile.

Minsan panalo at masagana
O di kaya ikaw ay bokya at talunan

Pero kahit man ako ay matalo
At hindi man maging tayo sa huli
Hindi ako magsisisi na sayo
Ay umibig at naging malapit

Dahil Mahal kita
Iyon lang ang gusto ko sabihin
At gusto kita
Kahit na di mo ako gustuhin

Kaya Oo di ako sigurado
Kung kinabukasan ay magiging tayo
Pero sana alahanin mo
Na ang pagmamahal ko sayo ay totoong totoo
My love for you is true and time will prove it someday.

I traced the texture of your words
Like my heart was blind
And your voice was braille
They will talk
And talk
Even when you’re gone
The bad and good
Won’t really matter
As long as
You know who you are

Who'll know?
Where a question mark

Warp the structure
Bend the lines
Put in repeat
Let emotion unwind
Make yourself
Your poetry's the best
Be your own ruler
Pass your own test

Take your own road
Where ever it leads

All is vanity
The meanings of passion
The aesthetic expression
The lines we draw and stay within
Even love is beyond intent
Vanity transcends
Flowing from our pens
And so we breathe again

Truth
19 April 2021

To read, is not to learn.
To cry, is not to suffer.
To love, a fantasy.
To pray, is not ecstasy.
To search, is not to find.
To give, is not to be kind.
To take, not greed.
To do well, is not to win.
Who can speak the truth?

My entire life,
I have been waiting.
For years,
Almost two decades now
I have been waiting.
Waiting,
For the better parts.
Waiting,
For the “soon”.
Waiting,
For my life to begin.
Because,
I don’t feel like I have lived.
In the nearly twenty years
I have been alive
And breathing
I do not feel
In any of those years
That I have been alive.
I don’t feel like a single breath
That I have taken
Has been real.
I feel as if
All these years
I’ve been stuck
Behind a window
Watching as my life unfolds
Before me.
I feel that
I have had
Zero control.
That I am in the backseat
Letting someone else drive.
That someone else,
Is writing on the pages
Of MY life.
But no more.
I will break that window,
I will take that wheel,
And I will write
My own pages.
My life has begun,
And now -
I’m in control.
Yesterday, April 8th, was my birthday. I wrote this poem two years ago, when I was 19 almost 20, and on my 22nd birthday I find that the website selected it as a daily and I have all these wonderful people saying wonderful things about my poetry. Thank you Hello Poetry, and thank you everyone else. This was the best birthday present I could have even gotten. (04/09/2021)

She has chains
Around her chest
Slowly tightening
Give her rest

She’s in danger
Every day
She can’t continue to
Work this way

She’s saving lives
And skirting death
Ushers joy
Or one’s last breath

This blight has taken
A toll on her
On ALL of us
It has, for sure

But on the caregivers
So much worse
On every doctor
Every nurse

I put my heart on the pages of my favorite book, such that you will trace each word to know me better/ I will place my love in the core of my favorite things, such that you will see why I treasure it so much/I am sorry if I won't kiss you because my passion doesn't lie on my lips/It's not the texture of skin that I crave but for the eyes read the soul within/If you were to ever leave me I wouldn't be living in your head/I would be in the shadows of the things present, at the places that we met.

I know the river runs dry after it has fallen asleep.
Death is not our alliance, life is.
So, between my arms,
you emerge like a hand,
and the way to celebrate it is to embrace you,
with long kisses on your cheeks,
because your heart is a garden of illumination,
plated with violets and lavenders.

I'm sinking farther into the sea
Air cut off, unable to breathe

But it's not all too bad
The water's warm

It's a shame I can only see this
By myself
at the end.

lost cause
if i wrote my future
all would be changed
from the way i was raised
to the thoughts in my brain
if i wrote my future
no love would be lost
so i’d stand right beside you
no matter the cost
if i wrote my future
i’d bring nothing but peace
and save you from sorrow
and the darkness that creeps
if i wrote my future
you’d still be here
but you wrote my future
and i did nothing
but stare

Months have come and went,
time left and spent.
Moments of eternity and bliss,
here now to witness.

A blink as blue skies,
turn gray in old eyes.
Bells have began their knell,
and leaves have all but fell.

Hold on,
cold song,
I long to live.
Tomorrow may be borrowed time
