I get my information
from the dirt…
While running my hands
through the fertile earths…
My mucus membranes
collect the biome beneath..
ancient mycelium filaments
feed my primal needs!

There is a fungi that lives just beneath the soil called mycelium, it is known to grow up to 2250 acres. It sustains all the trees in its reach.
There is peace and harmony under the dirt!

Here, in this silence,
of no one around
I address absence

Turn up the tv
have a drink
flip thru channels again

check on the dogs
change where I'm sitting
scroll thru the news

if you were here
would it be
any different

I've been alone
and alone
with others

Which desperation
wishing you were gone
wishing you were here

smashes me more
I don't know
sitting in smithereens
Right next to the
Sane and rhyming description
Of the things I keep resisting
Is the wailing banshee of doom
Seething stealthily into this room

You don’t want a sad face!
Ah, but nor do I —
Still I sleep and rise alone
Still I have tears to cry
You are just the way you are
There’s naught that I can do
Floating here in the morning light
Feeling it through and through

And then I think of money
And I really start to sob
I just seem to get nowhere
Although I’m glad to have a job
I do good work, cash comes in
I turn around and it all goes out again

Everyone knows the drill
The Man has pockets to fill
Baby needs new shoes
Mama has the all-time blues

When is the moment of my
Great Escape?
Who will pull me from this
Hopeless Outrage?
Obviously, now, and
Obviously, me
The clouds glow softly
As light kisses the city

Longing! How dreary to the soul!
Perpetually wishing for more
Of your essence mixed with mine
Long intervals filled with pining
The minutes meander through my worries
Words spill out in a flurry
Nothing can contain them
Certainly not the fraying
Basket of my wisdom

Go to the source
Says the voice
Back in March
She tapped me right on the shoulder
And I heard her say in my mind
Heal your inner child!
This child so confused
By not-quite abuse
She still lives in me
She wants to be free
Stealing a tidbit from Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine, the part about the great escape and hopeless outrage.

Emotions are like water, they flow and they cleanse
Come with me at midnight
Traverse an obstacle course
Leading to my heart
And into my soul

Come with me at 1
Run through the park
With no care in the world
But your hand in mine

Come with me at 2
Dance with me
In the middle of a field
Like only we exist

Come with me at 3
Tell me all the secrets
Your heart carries
And I'll tell you mine

Come with me at 4
Let me pour out my soul
As you hold me close
And I hide in your warmth

Come with me at 5
Look at me with weary eyes
And kiss me in disguise
As I melt from the look in your eye

Come with me at 6
As we return to reality
With me in your arms
And you mine
Olan Douglas Webb
Oh, when
I look into your eyes
And I see the ocean
Of your soul
Words fail me
And I became senseless and dumb.
Oh, you are
A siren burning
In the warm velvet night
As you seem to consume
My very soul
As all that I am
Is absorbed within you
Till I forever lose my soul!
And I am consumed
Within the burning flame
Of love
For you.

That's what you need.
I can give you time.
But I'm sure already that time will change me.
Warping my image of you,
into an unrecognizable,
undesirable form.

So if it's time you need,
I'm giving you all the time in the world.
I can't promise I'll be able to handle the separation,
I can't promise I'll be here when that time is up.
As a summer breeze rushes through the trees:
             Silence speaks

          As the ocean's waves
whisper to the moon to
               Silence speaks

As nightfall comes and dark is deep
Earthen creatures take rest and sleep:
               Silence speaks

As winter's snow falls from the sky
In piles the angels make merry where they lie:
              Silence speaks

           As autumn's chill brings vibrancy
In cinnamon rust, in burning orange as leaves 'fall' from the trees:
              Silence speaks

Even death rains memories so loud
Like thunder - lightning from a cloud:
             Silence speaks

Silence has never been quiet
Silence is very loud

Gold is precious
Won by the best
He is the happiest
Counterfactual is the silver
Won after losing to gold
The better is lesser happy than The bronze
His happiness subdued
By the sense of losing
Bronze is crazy
Inferior to silver
His happiness stems
From his sense of winning
Winning from a weaker one
Poor silver's condition is confusing
He considers his self
A product of losing!
Bronze medalists may feel happier than silver medalists! Silver medalist gets the medal after losing to gold medalist whereas bronze medalist wins his medal defeating his opponent.

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)
There were days
I remembered
To put my heart on my sleeve.

The other days
I hid it
So deep inside my body
I couldn’t find it for myself.

The terror of anyone finding
Me judging me
Seemed to linger in the air
I inhaled.
Lost Soul
I spent 83 days wondering why
1,992 hours crying
And 7,171,200 seconds dying a little more inside

I can't say I'm sorry for what happened before
I left because
I didn't matter to you anymore
Bring me back my love
Whom god hath torn asunder
Bring me back my love
I can stand the solitude no longer

Darling come to me
Darling please
Don’t leave me alone

Wherever you may be
Is where my spirit longs to be
Talk to me, darling
I’m still me
I may not be with you
On Earth anymore
I know we said goodbye in one way
That night on that floor
But darling I love you
Always and true
Nothing could take me away from you
Daily and nightly I shall persevere
Until the right day that you find me here
And then we shall continue
The work we began
For the seventh generation
To make its stand
All is well here on Earth
For just one more day
Let us fly off together briefly
Like the pair of
Monarchs we are
This dropped on me out of nowhere as soon as I stopped to watch a Monarch Butterfly in a big Oak tree. It was almost like she was dictating it to me. As she flew around at the end I got the lines mixed up and then had to edit it a little as she came back into view. When I tried to photograph her she freaking hid behind a leaf hahahaha! Why was I not surprised. She finished telling me the poem and then flitted off with her mate, who I had not noticed before then.

If tomorrow never comes for me
If I shall not wake in the morning
Would you know I love you
Would you know I care
When I die...
Will you visit me sometimes?
Wearing a nice suit,
Would you leave flowers by my name
and say a few words to get through a bad day?
They said,
"The most beautiful art is
looking into someone's eyes
when they talk about the
things they love.
And I said,
"Or looking at someone you love.
Or maybe, just maybe,
by looking at the mirror
is the most beautiful art
anyone should appreciate."

Because I’m still afraid
The truth might come out
And if it does
If it really breaks free
You’ll see what I am
You’ll see the true me

With jokes and lies
I’m a terrible person
All jokes aside
You don’t seem to know it

You see love and emotion
But what would you see
If I ever did open
I can’t bear to find out
I can’t bear to show
The me you don’t see
The me that I know
If I let it out
If I let it be
I know for a fact
That you would hate me.

So many poems
and stories
have gone unwritten
due to fear of not being good enough
To finish your own life by hand,
May seem like the right thing to do.
But to free yourself from this land,
Is to imprison those that love you.

Life with you
is not about
attaining milestones.
It is simply
to the fullest,
at the misadventures,
at the adventures,
at the successes,
from failures,
each other
when life is not so smooth
and inspiring
one another
to take the next step.

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

No matter who you are
You have my deepest respect!

All is vanity
The meanings of passion
The aesthetic expression
The lines we draw and stay within
Even love is beyond intent
Vanity transcends

your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that
In the peaceful magical world
where I would be living

No one would dream of a better world
as the one we've been given.
The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.

I would have moved mountains.
I would have drowned my light in your motionless fountains.
Burned alive your imposters.
And sacrificed angels for your dark twisted monsters.

But you made me believe that the monster was me.
So I let you down just to let the Beast free..
i adore cold weather.
But not for the fires,
Or the warmth of another person.
I find something beautiful about it,
And maybe even a bit lonely.
It reminds me of bittersweet loss,
And finding the strength to move on.
my soul will be calling your name
and I have to accept that

my will can not oppose
the strength of once-in-a-lifetime

and sometimes I hear calling of your soul
across the distance, across our two way street
i write to you almost every day
i talk to you every day

claim it as theirs
soon to realise they have built on sand.

You mourn with the moon
Because she too
Weeps at the tragedy
