Sometimes
You meet the right people
At the wrong times.

That thing could’ve worked
If it was a bit later,
Or maybe a bit sooner.

Maybe
We would’ve worked
If it was at a different time
In a different place.
With different people

Maybe
We could’ve lasted.

Maybe
You were the right person
At the wrong time.

We sit here waiting for the technology of the future
We write about flying cars and time travel

We create paradoxes in our heads,
as we dream of paradoxes beyond us

We learn about the past and worry about the future
We think we know what's coming and we think we're in control.

I wonder if they sat around waiting for Da Vinci,
in a pre Mona Lisa world

I stand and wait for you
Patient as always.

But more desire
This essence, my friend.

I will stay true, even if it's not to you.
doubt, how long is too long; can we make it, a valid question

When our lives became entangled I was so naive
I still believed in the universe and the people inside it
Wanting to trust in the inherent good of human life
I tore down my walls for you so easily

For years afterwards I stayed wishing that our paths had never crossed
That the stars would never have aligned
But now I’ve learned to treasure all the lies you’ve ever told me
Because they led to me realizing the larger truths

And all the pain and misery I’ve suffered at your hands
Yeah it can’t touch me anymore
And the way you used to play me is nothing but a bitter memory
A reminder of all the fear I fought through just to survive

I’ve grown through all the hurt
Pushed through the hard earth and bloomed
You wouldn’t know me if you saw me now
I’m too sweet for your reality
I write the same thing over n over :/

It's always beautiful
as usual
waking up to you
in the morning.

Closed eyes, tucked in
looking for you
as fresh rays
break day, and we
toss and we turn
feeling limb by limb

Leaning over to kiss
you awake
coming to know
first light
by your smile
when.
Another sweet nothing - for a girl haha

The lingering comfort of your presence
I think
My dreams are made of you too.

Because the earth’s round
Doesn’t mean it’s  having a ball.

Because waves crash
Doesn’t mean that they aren’t in control.

Because the sea is deep
Doesn’t mean that it’s thoughtful

Because land meets the sea
Doesn’t mean that they agree

Because you float my boat
Doesn’t make me the captain.
Five little ten worders to ponder.

Will the fog clear today

Like clockwork
11am
and my eyes open

the same blurry thought makes its way to the surface

will it be today

will the dull dissipate
the confusion clear

this edge of uncertainty
uncertain about possibilities
that might not be possible

this worry

I cannot explain it but my father says I
worry too much

Too much or too little

Too much
too much
too much

dense whispers
in the light of the shadow

but what exactly to see

11am
Will the fog clear today

I’ve loved you in ways that I have never been loved
I loved you for reasons that you will never know
I’ve loved you for longer than you’ve known and for far longer than you’ve deserved
It’s my fault for loving you too much
I knew you weren’t capable of accepting what I had to give
But you didn’t have to make me feel stupid
I can’t count the times you’ve brought tears to my eyes or have made me cry
You’ve hurt my feelings so many times and I just want to know why
If I could go back in time I’d try to be perfect for you just so you didn't make me feel so stupid
I gave you so many chances to change and you just made me look stupid
And now I have tears in my eyes and you’ve made me cry
I don't know why you had to make me look so stupid

Love me
naked beyond
flesh or bone,

trace your
fairytale dreams
to memory upon
my lips,

runaway your
passion and lust
across my eyes,

and never
let the sun
run to retire.

and deep inside
our eyes
we will define
our destiny,

and we you
will never
let each other go.

and as all
of your love
falls out
of time..

nothing will
be left
but you and I.

so let me
be your
more,

and never
be satisfied
with less.

to be young
to die old
inside  your
angel eyes

and sing.

today,
I wore it again
and people complimented me
they say red is my color
and it suits me.

today,
it's too thick and dark
did I overapply
no, it's the right amount
just enough
to make them think
I'm fine.

today,
I look at myself
in the mirror,
and they're right
red shines on me,
so I applied
another layer,
and another
until my lips felt too thick,
but my eyes still see
the scars beneath it.

Chain-smoking her pretty lies

Oh the pain, you can not contain
Out of reach, you weep
This is your defeat

If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.

When I was much younger, beaches were my second favorite places. I still love watching waves as they go by, crashing against each other and the whole process repeating all over again.
