Tip-toe to the basin in broad daylight
Look at your reflection in the water carefully
What do you see on the surface, my child?
Yards of skin, paths of lips, rivers of hair...ย ย
Millions of atoms that make you you
Now, look closer

Closer...

Deeper into the irises of your orbs
Can you see an odd twinkle in the depths?
Can you see your soul burning in the pits?
We're not merely human, my love
We're spirits behind a mask
Of mortality.

My best friend came over today and was asking me really deep questions. So, if you're wondering, that's probably why this poem is deep, ha ha!

As you can see, I am getting pretty creative with the format of my poems. I am really happy with how they're turning out. Aren't you?

Iโ€™ve been drawing circles,
The same ones
Over
And over โ€“
Iโ€™ve been feeling sleepless
Night after
Night,
Hoping that I can work the courage
To talk to someone
And not feel so lonely โ€“
But like I said โ€“
Iโ€™ve been drawing circles.

Forget me
As I fade away
Drift away
Even space isnโ€™t here to stay
As planets watch stars collide
Unaware by which laws they abide
Unknown to them their destined sorrow
For they too must disappear
And the universe will follow

So why am I

Still here

Hiding away are the
stars in the day.
But during the night,
they shine so bright.
Waiting all day
they pass the time
until they get
their chance to shine.
Be patient, honey. Your time is coming.

an idiot

like Dostoyevsky
described

straightforward
you cannot

understand me
I am outside

your scope

I do not want
from you or

to be you

I do not absorb
your threats

or insults
I am immune

to your world
I know

you want me
you know

I canโ€™t be

the moon is slowly moving away from the earth,
just as we are slowly losing grasp of reality.
a single word
escapes from her frozen lips
and my heart sinks
to the bottom of my fantasy-filled ocean;
just like how
i want to drown
in the breaking waves of my delusions.
but, every second i spend with you
drags me down to the
cold hard pavement of
reality.

what does it feel like to be held
not by another body
not by a set of limbs, a chest, a chin
but
by another soul

what does it feel like
to see truth in another pair of eyes
instead of hidden intentions
instead of absence

what does it feel like
to hear a familiar heartbeat
resounding next to your own
reaching through skin
through bone
two rhythms
indistinguishable

what does it feel like
to write poems about
a love that exists

from the creation of stardust
that is once a small nebulae
contained with colorful hues.

forbidden in

or in my heart
because when
i think about
you;

i'll cry a little more,

love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that

Break my bones;
cut my throat.
Pull me open,
learn the ropes.

Breath me in;
taste the fear.
Shank my skin;
stand and cheer.

Kick my head;
let me bleed.
Unbolt my veins;
enjoy the read.

Gouge my eyes;
punch my face.
Wrap me up
in your embrace.
Get to know me like I do you; inside and out.

It was dark inside the Cavern Club,
The Beatles played the night away.
We twisted and we shouted then
We waltzed when they played โ€œYesterdayโ€.

It was loud inside the Cavern Club,
The throbbing music filled the air.
Iโ€™ll never dance with another now,
It pleased me I could take you there.

It was magical in the Cavern Club,
A mystery I donโ€™t understand.
We said hello, we said goodbye,
We worked it out, I held your hand.

There was love inside the Cavern Club,
On that, I think, we are agreed.
From me to you, eight days a week,
And love is really all you need.

Iโ€™ve lost my mind a thousand times,
I donโ€™t know why

My spirit youโ€™ll find
In the pines, in the pines,
Where the sun never shines

Where wolves devour my corpse
And bend knee to the source

Where my will is dissolved into ethereal vapor
While the wraiths sing and dance in mysterious caper
made of clouds
evanescent
vagabond  into the sky
waiting for you to look up
before the wind
dissolves me

it's funny
the way my lips move
in times of uncertainty
the way my hips sway
in times of distress
the way my fingers dance
along each finger tip
feeling one another
trying to grasp the tangible

i've tangled myself between
too many bedsheets
to not understand that
what is in front of me is "it"
that what it in front of me -
is all i've ever yearned for

i've tripped over myself
on too many sidewalk cracks
where i drew my heart
in sidewalk chalk
hoping you wouldn't step on it

i've suffocated my lungs
in too many embraces
that i have a hard time coming to my senses
and differentiating
between
manipulation
or love

i've been let down too many times
that my fingers
and toes
can't keep track anymore

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)

From a distance
Then I'll burn for you
Like a star in your night sky
Bright, steady, reliable
Unwavering
Until the end of time.
