As a pandemic spreads across the globe,
we realize more and more
about ourselves
which we once did not know.
Extroverts transform into introverts,
introverts into extroverts,
finally, a revolution for the mind,
an extraordinary, cosmic show
of divine and unprecedented kindness.
Externally and internally
we will continue to grow.
And the days are not full enough
And the nights are not full enough
And life slips by like a field mouse
      Not shaking the grass
And every night that passes by leaves me more empty than the one before...
Felicity Paris
My sadness consumes me
Devours me;
Takes me alive

I wish I weren’t

I wish it didn't have
that chance
Still water run deep...
Dark water run deeper...
I see myself swimming in dark water...
Noting changes.
Nothing grows.

Empty highs.
Empty lows.

I can't feel the warm,
And I can't feel the cold.

You try to make me happy,
And I try just for you.
But other than our trying,
Nothing else is new.

I worry I'll upset you,
If I can't make a change.
It's not fair of me,
To make you stay the same.
Don't let me drag you down with me.
Jibril Abdulmalik
It is not in your beauty that I found love;
It is in your love that I see beauty.

And if you care as much,
I would care more.

If you care more,
I would care most.

For this path of ours is not blind,
But truth from love's perspective.

If hate ponders this path of ours,
It shall find nothing of its kind,

But evolve,
Just as we have, in love

Beyond all barriers –the isms:
Racism; tribalism; religionism,

To become one –WE:
You, me and love.

Goodbye I love you...
Goodbye love...

Years ago
We stayed up till
3 am talking,
And today
I don’t even know
How to say hi,
I never thought I'd matter
To anyone

Until you
Came along

And changed my perspective
Of the universe

You made me feel
Like I matter

And I'm grateful
For you.

Break my bones;
cut my throat.
Pull me open,
learn the ropes.

Breath me in;
taste the fear.
Shank my skin;
stand and cheer.

Kick my head;
let me bleed.
Unbolt my veins;
enjoy the read.

Gouge my eyes;
punch my face.
Wrap me up
in your embrace.
Get to know me like I do you; inside and out.
Monsters don’t exist
Still, we are very afraid
Because we made them
Monsters. A concept so often used to represent anything dislikable to society, which we are afraid of. Yet literal monsters don’t exist.
How dare we
think of the loan of universe, its arrangement - when the Earth is breathing in chaos!

i keep waking up
with you on my lips
but it's only your name
and not your kiss
screaming your name at night in my sleep

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)

Never lose your hope in pursuit of your fate
Never lose faith in pursuit of happiness
Never lose sight in darkness
Fight to confess and ease

Address hidden emotions
Talk them out, converse with your demons
Understand that your flaws are what make you human

No amount of pain, aside from death was meant to break you

While you are alive keep finding the real you
If someone loves you they will fight for you
Even if it’s not besides you
Never lose

I drink my morning coffee,
gulp after gulp,
searching for sanity
in the bottom of the cup
your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that
A sower

A forest is the poet

A harvest

A cherry

Sweetness is the poet

A feather

A flight

A sparrow is the poet

A swarm

A buzz

A sting is the poet

A puzzle

A fog

A mystery is the poet
Love is truly an art
where til death do us part
For the true love we all seek
it is always in front yet it rarely speaks

For death can truly see
who we would love and marry
yet he will never tell
if our story is a wonderful tale
Death an ugly truth
Do you want to know why I’m like this?
Do you really want to know what’s wrong?
The problem is you.
It’s all of you.
This is what happens
When you abandon your friends
When you ignore the people around you
When you take advantage of your family

People aren’t designed for that
Humans require community
And as I watch you all
Finding ways to love each other
I sit in quiet jealousy
To not make you feel shame

But to tell you the truth
I’m dying
Depression is eating away at my soul
I can’t survive alone
Not much longer
Not like this

Can I give a girl anything
Except what she wants
I´d like to vanish
in the dark
so when the sun raises
I am gone

I don't want to be
in this world
so when the earth turns
I am gone

I wish to flee
from this life
so when the birds sing
I am gone

I gave up
the hope of morning
so when the moon vanishes
I will too

The dreams of others feed my contempt
Hope strings to unfulfilled fantasies of everyone but myself

All my dreams have come true
I have all that I wanted but being content is more harmful and dauntless

Thrown to the dust and walked all over
I claim I was hurt by the lies, heartbroken

Reality is, I was scared of consistence
No grip on my new-found placid content
My love grew too strong for my mind to control it

So I gave it up for the loss and full moments
His stories and dreams all wore, once mine
I threw Them away and always wanting more

Since years and years,
they talked Salam.
I see no Salam.
What is Salam?
I don’t know how to say Salam.

Peace means Salam in Arabic. This poem is for those who have been talking about Salam and never made it happen.
to me,
you are
an art

                              to you,
                              I was
                              a tragedy
you still remain, and will always be
a fine piece of art
to me.

The other day,
I unblocked you from

Not because I miss you.

Not because I am inviting you
back into my life
after a year and a half--

Because I refuse
to remain in hiding.

I wonder
when all my lies fall
and the truth
comes knocking down
all these walls I built around
will they still want
this child of the rainbow
amongst their white flock?
Living a double life is hard and it becomes harder every single day I keep hiding the truth about myself. I long for the day I'll be free, but also fear it, for it also may be the last day I see so many of my loved ones...
Black Lilacs
blooming -

a blossoming
of grief -

dark fallen pollen
on the breeze -

I can see it falling
all around me -

there on the wall
for us to see -

April will be
the cruelest of them all.
“ April is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land...

I will show you fear in a handful of dust...

...And other withered stumps of time
Were told upon the walls;...”

T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land, 1922.
Calavera, burlón y algo alocado
Siempre Ricaurte fue, pero valiente;

why would i say "i love you"?
maybe it's because you remind me of poetry.
i love you and every little rhyme,
i cherish every syllable of you.

i would say "i love you" because your beauty could outshine every rain any day.
i say "i love you" because, simply put,
i do
We all have demons-

The difference between,
you and me-

I choose to feed them.

They live rent-free,
unwanted guests trapped
in the abyss of my memories

I cannot hide
it's all in my mind

separation of church and
There is no redemption

Last call, fist fight-
getting over the words
inside of my mind

I must be dreaming
it's all deceiving

stream of conscious
We wake up on being called.
When you open your eyes in the morning,
listen to the voice inside.
The first thing that comes to you is
the sense of ‘I am’.
Isn’t it true?
It was consciousness’ voice
waking you up to a new creation.
