Baby, don't worry,
I love you more
than my soul
You're my dream
and life goal.

I feel so sorry,
I'm not there with you
right now
But I always find myself
in you.
Soon I will get back
to you.

I love you, I miss you
Baby, don't worry!
I feel you, I want you
Honey, don't worry!

Sweetie, I will come soon.
Your memories
still make me smile
I remember
you were climbing a stile
to walk with me
in the afternoon.

One day all the dreams
will come true
'Cause everyone knows
our love is true.
There is no need to worry!

5am we crowd in the rickety cage
to take us into hell's cold entry
into the mines where we dig our
claws into the rock to drag coal
into the carts we roll to a rich
man's greed and we end our days
in poor man bars swallowing the
dust into our angry bowels where
we keep score and wait for God.
We sleep with our sacred wives.

Love is
waking up at night
kissing you
just to see you smile
in your sleep
guy scutellaro
staring out the window,
I remember you as you were

a bird always in flight

a fist full of tomorrows
held in the palm of your hand

staring out the window at the pouring rain
the warmth of your hand
pinions of a dove's wing
your hand in mine

I will not see the shadow
under your smile

gathering all the light in a room
like a flower in the sun

I remember you as you were
I have never thanked you,
for the conversations.

I have never thanked you,
for the smile.

I have never thanked you,
for asking me how i'm really doing.

I have never thanked you,
for staying alive.

Thank you,
thank you.

i feel like someone
is trying to pry open my ribcage
with a crowbar
like the doors to a closed bar
ready and wanting to drink in the rage
sitting in my heart

the only question is:
will they reach it before I die
and anger flows out of my body
on the wings of relief?
Until today I have never fallen for anyone,
but today it feels like he is the only one.

I can't stop thinking about the guy I met today,
when I saw him I couldn't take my eyes away.

When I saw him my heart skipped a beat,
and I didn't know when was the next time I am gonna meet.

The moment I looked into his eyes,
it felt like we were surrounded by all butterflies.

Now when i think of him I get distracted,
Don't know if it's love or I'm just attracted.
what does it feel like to be held
not by another body
not by a set of limbs, a chest, a chin
by another soul

what does it feel like
to see truth in another pair of eyes
instead of hidden intentions
instead of absence

what does it feel like
to hear a familiar heartbeat
resounding next to your own
reaching through skin
through bone
two rhythms

what does it feel like
to write poems about
a love that exists
Anna Magill
There is no limit to possibility
There should always be tranquility
No one takes away my peace
We are inclined to cease
Still, we fight and we rage
Like the bronze age
The burning walls
Become our downfall
Be our dying light
Oh, to see that sight
strange seed
drifts over crooked hill
cold dream
We will vanish one by one, until we are gone without a trace
Displaced by grass or covered in titanic snowdrifts
Dilapidated buildings
the silhouettes of ghastly midnights past
Churches and temples laying in ruin
Un-holy vestiges embraced by the warmth of the morning sun.
Reach out now, touch the void
God and man are dead ! Rejoice!
What a joyous revolt!
Divine notes from blasphemous flutes conduct a symphony from beyond time
Dive headfirst into the growing black rift
become eternity
Feel no further reverberations of the ego
Completely alone perhaps
but quivering and afraid no more
Ashes where we had once stood before God and man
screamingly sentient
Once made of rotten creation
life the echo of a shrieking moan
Coming from the graveyard of the universe
somewhere below the moon.
Now drawn into a different dimension
leave the pallid stars behind with a mad laughter.
An original poem
im sorry i havent been better;
i promise you ive tried.
but no one seems to notice
the pain behind my eyes.

im sorry i keep crying,
i just dont know what to say.
my words would only be empty,
and you would turn away.

im sorry that i must leave so soon;
i really cannot stay.
i know that i seem fine,
but i am not okay.

im sorry that my time is up;
im ready to say goodbye.
i know this might be hard,
but i promise ill be fine.

im sorry for apologizing,
(its really all i know).
i promise that i love you,
but its time for me to go.
i found this in a diary from freshman year and its one of the only poems ive written that rhymes.

I sit with you but I'm alone
I smile at you but it's not returned
I laugh with you but you don't hear me
I whisper in your ear but you ignore me
I look deep into your eyes but there is no reflection of me
I caress your neck but you seem distant
I cry out your name but there is no sound
I'm with you but you're not with me
Am I in heaven or hell?
Commuter Poet
You and me
Upon the sea
Are floating
On the breeze

To a beat
That’s deep
And Sweet

We move
With the groove
And the rhythm
Of the flow

We click
Are slick
And quick

I know marigolds in Paradise
Is the life that waits for me
A creation with a plan devised
Capable and deserving

A brilliance with no shadow
Inside, snow-white purity
Attempting to make use of
Every breath you breathed through me

My heart sought out your paradise
With a dream that it would see
That path carved out so beautifully
And the worth you gifted me

I walked away but I will find you
A love, a home; eternally
I will ascend until I reach and take
The hand held out towards me

Heaven rained on me,
I breathed in the petrichor,
Bathed in the downpour.
I have sinned,
So destroy me,
With your rain.

You we're my sunshine
But then I remembered that the sun doesn't just shine for one person.
Still, I'm in the eyewall,
Still fighting,
All the turbulence of harsh winds,
But, with every drop of strength left within,
I trek forward, step after step,
Hoping that one day,
I'll reach the eye of this storm
Note: In a storm, EYE  is a region of calm weather at the center whereas EYEWALL is the surrounding region with strong thunderstorms and severe weather.
your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that
finding myself
in this moment
I taste the air
and let my mind expand
island poet
morning first poem: tropical storm coming north

two days of rain, with a first appetizer of
***** white clouds falling to earth where
renamed, fog, a wonderful guttural word

a curse, a wonder, a summary, an exclamation,
later the rain and the wind will visit to remind
us who’s the boss, if the  blackout whiteness
was insufficient to mind mortals ro their proper
places, basements, closets, and  under the  covers,
thinking of Dorothy, visiting Oz, going home to that imaginary,
wherever it really be, if there is such a place

the avians coat the lawn, camouflaged in brown grass,
and climb the house as an animals-only observation deck,
a big buffet breakfast ordered, (possible delays for a civilized
lunch and a roast beef sup) in anticipation of the change in
atmospheric pressure, which is far more accurate than
the goofy looking weatherman on channel 61, who announces
disasters approaches with exactly the same unwavering, unnatural
damnastic enthusiasm as a gorgeous July Fourth weekend

and here I am watching, observing, thinking
maybe I’ll move the chairs and umbrella into
the garage, you know, be responsible for once,
instead of a lazy whatever pretend poet writer,
but the coffee is warm and fulfilling, the music
randomly licking, hitting my mental G spot,
this creamy easy poesy coming so pleasy so
being responsible just too damnistic boring,
and why start now?

Robert F. and Walt W. wave by, on their way to someone
better, it’s ok, they gave me the old college try,
and the ground is more fertile up North and
tropical storms are not of much interest when
the world is burning itself up and history is
being revised by rose colored glasses to make us forget,
if we clean up ancestral blackness evility incivility

then Jude Johnstone one of America's finest
songwriters sings her Wounded Heart, and I
hear it solo on piano, hear it break my heart,

”Wounded heart I cannot save,
You from yourself.
Though I wanted to be brave,
It never helps.
Cause your trouble's like a flood,
Raging through your veins.
No amount of loves enough
To end the pain.
Tenderness and time can heal,
A right gone wrong.
But the anger that you feel,
Goes on and on.
And it's not enough to know,
That I love you so.
So, I take my heart and go,
For I've had my fill.
If you listen you can hear,
The angels wings.
Up above our heads so near,
They are hovering.
Waiting to reach out for love,
When it falls apart.
When it cannot rise above
A wounded heart.
When it cannot rise above
A wounded heart...”

and now a tropical storm seems like no big deal,
and maybe someday
I’ll write so sad n’ soft, good
be at last
no longer afraid of the tropical storms
that live within...

Break my bones;
cut my throat.
Pull me open,
learn the ropes.

Breath me in;
taste the fear.
Shank my skin;
stand and cheer.

Kick my head;
let me bleed.
Unbolt my veins;
enjoy the read.

Gouge my eyes;
punch my face.
Wrap me up
in your embrace.
Get to know me like I do you; inside and out.

You’re much like the rain,
You can be soft or heavy,
Or kind to my drought.
your presence
is all
i need.
I'm stuck for eternity,
for infinity.
Following this illusion,
this intention.
Chasing the tide,
and following the current.
Hoping it will lead me back to you.
two hearts,
each beating for one another,
yet neither,
uttering a word.

Let's swim about, Peter
Mimic my sound

Speak my language
You precious bottle-nose

The trouble you have
With the letter M
Sure makes funny bubbles
Beneath the surface

What then should we talk of
This morning?
Miss Kelly, perhaps

Every room
Is an island, my child

Never isolate your love

Let it run to the sea
It's where I will always be
Thomas W. Case's Historical Figure Poetry Challenge, Margaret Howe Lovatt. In the 1960s, she took part in a NASA-funded research project in which she attempted to teach a dolphin named Peter to understand and mimic human speech. This while living in a half-submerged dwelling to have continuous contact with him.
If my fate is to love you
From a distance
Then I'll burn for you
Like a star in your night sky
Bright, steady, reliable
Until the end of time.
and they never knew
they were lost stars,
building their empires
after many lost wars.
David Lessard
I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.
you inhale tragedies
and exhale poetry
From where do you get your perseverance?

Have you ever liked someone so much you regret meeting them?
I went to see the starry sky
It's dazzling gleam was a delight
But as I went to tell my friends
the starry night came to an end
I wrote this impulsively when feeling overwhelmed and I haven't changed a thing about it because I wanted to capture those exact feelings.
Ariana Bagley
I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.
