maybe I could drive away, drive my way
towards you
get past Tennessee
and through
watch the flowers die and bloom
maybe if I lose my mind—
come closer to the truth
maybe if I look for you
in mountains you’ll be carved into
them just the way
I always do—
you’re in my mind
you’re in my room
I see you in the phantom blue, I
fall I drown I look for you
I close my eyes, don’t wanna lose

I close my eyes;
the flowers bloom

The finger upon whose weight
Depends the pluck of the string,
Does pull back the folds of a drape
Of sunwashed loneliness in afternoon.
Windows drift through you, without home,
Without glass, or any warmth from looking through.
Life in its squared sequence does amass, ecumenical,
Until death its finger does pass in its final pluck
As the touch of the thundering universe.

Can I bring him back by helping souls like his?

Can I help from the present?

Can he help from the past?

Who holds the key? He or I?

If we dwell on this mountain of
on going, scary daily breaking
news we will be pushed over an
emotional cliff, plunging into the
abyss of a dire collective chasm of
depression, perhaps as damaging
as the plague itself.

Becoming a world population
infected with PTSD, all wounded
casualties in the war of COVID-19.
A mountain of endless news, lies and
inaction by our National leaders is
beyond the pall of human emotional
endurance, at this point better to take
small sips rather than chugging the bottle.
Back off, tune out and consider voting
out the swamp reptiles in Washington
who put us on the edge of this cliff.

I might answer,

Honor thy self

And Fate shall evaporate like the morning dew

Do what thou wilt

And watch a useless world devoured by dreams

breathe deep and laugh

King of this universe

madly creating reality

Athena in the flesh

Eris and Eros hiding in her eyes

The universe in her hips

thighs wrapped in budding vines

An interplay of allurements

her smile takes divine form

And melts like Dali's clocks

filled with desire

And chaos

laid out in rapture

A barrage of machine gun fire

Trench warfare of the soul

Split the atom

Ritualistic ******

arcane eroticism

an occult offering

Under full moon

innocent of heart and of mind
Very rough draft right now, still working on it, any feed back in comments, it seems to be turning into prose rather than poetry.

He, who has been filled with guilt
Rising above this empty void he built
Reaching out to the skies above
With all the people filled with love
When all of the words were left unsaid
It was the moment that they dread
Spewing words that turned into a thread
With all of the tears they shed
With all of the words left to read
Most of the flock fled :)))

Been a while 4-15-20

i've already written these things
and they still don't matter
i've alerady ripped off these wings
and fallen into a shatter

the dreary drops of do or do not do
are merely evaporated dew
and wherever is my there
i'm finding it hard to care

I require a kiss
a long sensual merging
deep in my soul I need this
lest empityness keeps emerging

music batters me with memories
emotions brittle me with memories
she's still right here
they're all still right here

clouds cruise across the moon
loud in their silence
used to make me swoon
now it's just violence
ice pick to the eye violence

tired
burnt
my cat matters
love her purrs
everything else is just whatever

another drink
some same old think
it's just whatever
one more step towards forever

I was wishing upon a star
for a star upon thars
but I forgot what I meant
and thus goes clint

4 am
And the fog blankets the lake.
Critters wake
Crickets chirp
And fawns are alert.
On the surface,
A turtle's head
Emerges from the stillness.
The smooth reflection of
Moonlight is disrupted
As four wild youths
Run to the water.
This is where we belong.

what does it feel like to be held
not by another body
not by a set of limbs, a chest, a chin
but
by another soul

what does it feel like
to see truth in another pair of eyes
instead of hidden intentions
instead of absence

what does it feel like
to hear a familiar heartbeat
resounding next to your own
reaching through skin
through bone
two rhythms
indistinguishable

what does it feel like
to write poems about
a love that exists
Give Love Freely , Christ calls Us to Love Our Neighbor here.

Breathe now
Take a breath
Don't take for granted
What is left
Some cannot
Some will die
Some would rather
Than stay alive
In this moment
In these times
Pray together
Fight these lies
All alone
In a hospital bed
Some fight to live
Some end up dead
Breathe now
Fill your lungs
Open hearts
Share tongues
Can't turn back
The end is near
Take a breath
Now its here
Covid has done a number on the world. Stay safe everyone.

On this gift of space,
we maintain a garden
where grows many kinds of seeds,
some flourish...some die...some
are stunted...they just don't grow,

we do what we do best
in this garden
we try to be better,
even when on a standstill,
or when snugs pop up
and distract
we stray from focus...but,
try to get back on track
we...........persevere,
and along the way, we inspire,
and enhance others, too,

we're on the clouds when fruits
of our labor are appreciated
for, high up there is a temple
most of us aim to reach
...to experience some glory
.....to taste sweet water
from the fountain of fame,

but, its flow...dries bit by bit,
winds of change blow, to remind,
there are others, too, in the line,
waiting for their share of drink,
we move over...we give way...
but, we don't stop planting
we just lie low, at times, disappear,
then start down there........again,
like a newcomer........persevering,
aiming for the temple.......again,
not as eager as the first time,
....but, just savouring
the blissful feeling,
........when it comes...

At first I wanted to please you,
I gave in just to appease you.
But your requests were at my expense
And your complaints began to stretch.
It wasn’t just the things I did “wrong”
But who I am, and what I said
Then you changed what I had meant,
And put crazy worries in my head...

No gods, no fate,
not even yielding to chance
To live this one life
in full acceptance:

This will only happen once!

A stubborn strength
born of a conviction
That there is no soul
in need of absolution

That life is not made meaningful
by abstract metaphysical contortions
in favor of a jealous,
angry, cruel
deity
Purportedly in love with creation

Such is the choice of the humanist
in staunch opposition
to the zealot, the spiritualist
To stand on one's own feet
Acknowledging the grand mystery
Not willing to submit.

a bird always in flight

a fist full of tomorrows

staring out the window at the pouring rain
the warmth of your hand
pinions of a dove's wing
your hand in mine

I will not see the shadow
under your smile

gathering all the light in a room
like a flower in the sun

I remember you as you were

Pull me open,

Shank my skin;
stand and cheer.

enjoy the read.

punch my face.

I look up the skies,
And I saw the clouds.
I look at your eyes,
It's not me you want around.

I felt the urge to apologize,
Cause its only now that I realized.
I'm sorry for the times you wasted on me,
Instead with the girl you like to be with.

As I walk away from you,
Please take it as goodbye...
I'm letting my love go,
to chase the girl he likes.

I used to read your poems
but lately you don't write
you're silent and aloof
you know that isn't right.
You can't close a door once opened
you can't abolish all your dreams
you're a poet of the heart
mustn't fall apart at the seams.
Say what you can in words
they speak the message true
spoken from the heart
the poems will see you through.
A hermit's not your style
a recluse, you are not
never give up writing
of things that you've been taught.
I used to read your poems
I'd read them once again
if you would send them out
(this one's from a poet friend)

If you could read my mind,
You’d see a thousand papers
Filled with broken poetries
And deadbeat proses
Full of woeful verses
With mournful pieces
Of unfinished stories
That are yet to be written
And failed to be spoken;
If you could read my mind,
You’d hear horrible screams
And earsplitting weeps
From shattered dreams,
Kept in a nasty notepad,
Scribbled on a bed
Of bloodstained words,
Ringing in my head.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the shadows
That lurk within me;
You’d hear the bellows,
Screeching the words
“I’m tired,”
“I’m a failure,”
“I’m stupid –”
I know it sounds stupid,
It’s pathetically foolish
And seems too *******.
If you could read my mind,
You’d feel the tears
I had ever failed to cry;
You’d see the people
That make the weak weaker;
You’d see the monsters
That consume my head;
You’d hear the hollers
That failed to be freed;
You’d see the heart
That still bleeds and bleeds.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see the face
I’ve failed to show back then,
The face I’ve faked back then.
If you could read my mind,
You’d see a character
I had ever failed to become
If you could read my mind,
You’d be able to read
A book you never wished
To touch and read,
But sometimes I still wish
Someone could read my mind.

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.
