I hand
you my heart.
Basically giving to
you on a platter. And
what do people do with it?
in a society where artificial
is praised; the immoral and
cruel rule this world. And
in order to survive, I've
had to become cruel
because, let's face it
the world doesn't
like nor do nice.
Back on topic.
When I give
you my he-

you all.

Gamble

For
love is
a gamble,
I'll give all I
have or nothing at all to feel your warmth

Tried out a new form of poetry, a tetractys, which was invented by Ray Stebbing.
It consisted of 5 lines and with the syllabic count of 1-2-3-4-10.
I tried this out now with a quote I've had written for a while now,
and it fits!
I may try a double and triple tetractys poem later, haha!
It feels so good to try different forms of writing!
Be back soon with more!

Arachne
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2020

Flawless is her art
Life now drips from every thread
Silk now spun in dark

New day, new haiku!
Now that I've done with the Pleiades, I'm back to other women of myth!
This one is for Arachne. Now she always stood out to me.
The myth I grew up with is that she was overly arrogant and proud about her talents. Athena challenged her and well, Athena lost. Even the Goddess of Wisdom and Handicrafts was in awe of Arachnes work. As Ovid said, Athena couldnt find 'a fleck or flaw—even Envy can not censure perfect art'. But then, Arachne didnt portray the gods in a good light either. (Tbh, most myths are about the Gods being ******* to humans AND each other). Athena tore the loom, in jealous rage and we all know what happened, Arachne became a spider. There are in fact two alternate stories with the same ending. One is the one I grew up with, Athena cursed her to be a spider, but the other one is that Arachne ended her life as the Goddess destroyed her proudest work and she was turned into a spider out of pity. Either way, I was alluding to a spider with the last line. Ironically, while writing this, I saw two spiders in my living room and several baby spiders in my garden.
Which doesn't help my arachnophobia 😅😅😅

Meihua's Message
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2018

My love,
I do not know if you will see this letter, lest
you do not wish for my words to taint your holy eyes.
But I must bear to you my inner most heart.
I humbly beseech to Your Majesty that I be
not condemned without answer or reason.
You said that you will not glide through
the seasons without your sacred flowering
plum in hand, heart and mind, and yet,
I have now been left at the foot of
a stark tree in the heart of Winter,
confined in your palace without your
summer heart which it too much for me to bear.

I crave to have one word...
If not, then one last glance of you.
I had been cursed to not be able to carry
nor birth your seed, but the love we shared
is more than enough to give my life meaning.
I care not of promotions, of being your Worthy
Consort, of being your Phoenix.
I care only of being a loyal wife to you.
My heart is so hollow that every kiss,
loving word, happy moments have
come back to form a single goodbye...
The grief has ripped you from me,
leaving me with a guilt and fear heavier
than any mountain.
Please, do not leave your flowering plum,
to wither for with this snowstorm,
I will not be able to raise again.
Not without you...
My pain has been wrapped for you,
and is presented in the form of a letter,
and I am aware that I am a mere spider
walking on a silk thread.
I just want to hear from to you, one
last times...
My arm rests by the blade made
sharp by stroking a stone.

                        Your fading plum,
                                       Meihua

Ardour
Lyn-Purcell Sep 2017
Two becoming one by golden rings,
The man in a suit, and the wife demure
in white.
During the art of making love,
the ardour of man is firewater,
and sweet liquor.
The woman's wistful gaze is aflame
with a wish of vestal silk.
The firewater may chill, and the sweetness
of liquor fade, but the wistful woman's wish
is as lasting as time.
A poem from my journal based on a picture of a married couple that I saw in a magazine.

Thalia
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2020

Fair and bright beauty
Light feet revel with swift song
Joy blooms in her soul

New day, new haiku!
Feeling better today, haha!
I'm onto the last of the three Charities, Thalia. (Not to confused with Thalia the Muse, haha!)

Again, there isn't much on her as she is depicted with her sisters dancing.
But she does have a connection to spring. Her name, Thalia, comes from the Ancient Greek word, 'θάλλειν.' The Greek word 'thállein' means"to flourish, to be verdant - hence the connection to spring.

I also found that her name is also an adjective used to describe festivities, banquets and such.
Now that the main three Charites are done, I will be moving onto the younger ones! ^-^

"Remember," Ainhara says to the young maid,
"that towel is to be hand-washed only. Do it
with care as rose-silk is costly. Our reign queen
deserves the best but she is also frugal."
"Yes, my lady."

✿⊰✲⊱✿
As the maids leave, I walk out to my balcony,
curious of the sights beyond. Passing the small
seat and table, I take it all in. My Kingdom is
blessed by the softness of the evening sun,
from lands to sea, my high walls to the docks,
all is coated by an orange-gold glow.
"Would you like the Jasmine Pearls again,
Sweet Queen?"

✿⊰✲⊱✿
"No," I say, "I'll have the Dragon's Pu-erh
for the evening."
She nods, bows and leaves my chambers.
So much done, yet so much to be done, still.
"The crown is light, but the burden is heavy,"
I remind myself as the warm zephyrs blow.
The seas look so calm, as do the docked
argosies. The walls so tall, so proud, so
new. I am proud and happy for it all
standing, I welcome both old and new.
Even though there are time I do not know
what to do.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
'Let me relax...' I turn around. The seats are a
mix of obsidian and bronze with filigree
style moulding that make the back of the
seat; the same with the small table with a
vase of lilies. Upon the seat's lap, a round
seat-cushion on which I gently sit.
My mind seems to run amok with
thoughts so I close my eyes and let
the sounds calm and distract me.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
The calm seas, the bird's songs, the gentle
bustling of life below, the flapping flags
above, the heavy steps of patrolling guards
on the walls, the neighing of horses, the wind
blowing, the leaves rustling and now the
opening of my chamber door and light
footsteps - ever so familiar.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
As I open my eyes, Ainhana is by my side with
a silver tray of hot water, my tea-cups and foil-
wrapped Pu-erh Pearls in a tea caddie.
"And so Aurelinaea's Phoenix will will drink
from the Dragon's fermented Pearl Moon!"
"Indeed." She places the tea on the table.
I pat the seat next to me and she graciously
sits down and I peel the foil from the Pearls;
seaweed green, yellow streaks with hints
of burnt umber.
Second part of my free-verse!

So sensitive skinned
Passions keep me from world's lies
My heart unscripted
I made a promise to myself that on my 25th birthday, Ill be making changes to myself, slowly but surely. Ive often hated myself for being so 'sensitive', I thought if I killed that part of me, Ill be happy. Now Ill be kinder to myself and embrace it as an asset, not a flaw. I will finally be tackling some old fears and demons. Its my very passion, my own fire that keeps me warm from the chaos of the world around me and the relationships of wonderful friends and family that keep me sane and grounded.
I want to be as real as I can and present the best version of myself everytime too.
As I said, Im working on new collection which I hope will be posted soon. Still got alot to research, haha! But I will be going back to continuing some collections here!
Stay safe and well everyone!

Sunborn scales of the Imperial Dragon

whose body is entwined in a purple cloud.

His feathered tail whips around with vibrant colours as it

is  like the peacock's beloved eye of the Emerald Seas.

With coiling whiskers of fiery carnelians

and eyes born of liquid sunrise

whose roar rattles the sky and cracks the Pearl Moons

and out pours the Virtues of Harmony, wingless dragons

who dance to the music of the Heavens and it rains silver feathers,

wind-beaten. Sweet, soft, feathery wishes that perch on my

shoulders that brings me tranquil seas.
A poem that I wrote in my journal by looking at the night's sky.

Now, it's warm and now, I feel so happy!

God had answered my prayers.
And to those who wished me well,
you have my gratitude.

Thank you so much everyone for the support! ^-^

A concrete angel
runs her fingers through
silver strings.

Lose yourself
in the depth of her
sad blue eyes.

She glides over
streams of restless arms,
an empyrean light
flying through umbran
constellations.

She is neither
deaf nor numb to
their pain as her harp
sings with sweet sadness.
As she wonders...

How strange and sad it is
that death gives peace
more than life ever did.
Things have been so hectic I haven't had time to post on here as much as I want to. Today is a grey day for me, literally and emotionally. Its raining and I passed a hospital and a graveyard on my walk around my local area

✿⊰✲⊱✿
Ahead is the grand side entrance to his
palace, but not before we ride around
his large angel fountain. Ever so detailed
from head, wing and toe and the waters
so clean before we are pulled to a stop
by the marble steps with a vibrant wide
carpet. The coachman comes around
and opens the door, and gently helps me
out of the carriage and then my ladies.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
Turning around, I look at the fountain
with stars in my eyes.
"My Lady, King Paul ordered me to give
you this." The coachman holds out a silver
coins with a lion printed one side, Paul's face
on the other.
"Strange, he usually gives me one."
"He said you most likely would like to
make a wish before you enter and the
other is for later."

✿⊰✲⊱✿
"He knows our Sweet Queen well!" Ainhara
laughs. Taking a guard's arm, we walk to
the fountain; my ladies holding the train
of my dress. Below, there are many silver
and gold below the water, and I clutch mine
with a deep deep wish.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
'Let there be peace and harmony for us all
till the end of our days.'
I pray.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
I toss the coin in, watching it sink and
rest with its sterling brothers and sisters.
"My Lady, it is time," the guard smiles
and I nod.
"Time to let them know I'm here!" I beam
as I walk back to the marble steps and the
music filled palace.
Part 5 is here!
Part 6 will be out tomorrow so PREPARE!
ALOT of people will make their grand appearance,
Haiku Donna most of all! ^-^
I'm finally at your court, Paul! loool

The Lantern poem uses five lines with a syllable structure of one, two, three, four and one syllables per line. Of course, it's called the 'Lantern' poem because it's meant to be shaped as a hanging lantern! I can't believe I didn't know about this, it's absolutely wonderful! People spend money like water.
Especially the wealthy. As water flows downstream,
more comes in.
But for the poor, they live in a constant drought.
The sun is harsh for them so they labor hard to get by.
Until more gates open for the wealthy, they will
never know the value of a single drop...

Towards my future

Success is my destiny

Why
should I feel
inferior by the opinions
and comments of others around
Opinions are never facts so dust it off
and move on and up
Though I know
I'm insecure
about myself

I know I'm a
dragon with
the breath of
fire All those
determined to
destroy me the
best way is to
set me on fire
watch as I die
watch as I burn
bask in that light
but know this
I won't **** my-

I will **** my-
self for me
burn away the
shame rise from
ashes and roar
like a dragon
Because once
I've hit the bot-
tom, my wings

the way to go
now  is     up
People don't seem to understand how their words can destroy others.
Their words have alot of weight. One word is all it takes to push someone over the edge! Words are like arrows, once you let them lose, you can't take them back! You can only watch as they hit the target.
I know what it's like to be on the edge, I know what it's like to feel like you're going to self-destruct. I feel like that every day of my life -  wondering if I am worthy, if I'll ever be good enough. Fighting off depression as well as anxiety. I'm one HUGE bottle of nerves. But I owe it to myself to keep feeding my own inner fire and my dragon. To rise like a phoenix, roar proud like a dragon and take flight.
One's opinion of you can hurt but it's not fact.
Never will it BE a fact.
Anyway, I appreciate everyone here on HP.
You all add to my positivity. I feel at home here because people are so supportive.
Thank you.

Nocturne
Lyn-Purcell Oct 2020

Under the light of the moon,
my mind races as I chase its tail
The sweet taste of happy thoughts
soured by the bitter screeches of life

Everything seems to scuttle through the cracks,
jumping and voiding every lance of light
As the flowerheads bobbed in the hooting wind,
ever earnest and every more grateful

But I am voiceless. Agile I may be to skip and
stay keep my cloak of shade, the panic grows in
its fat and I can't stop hearing hums
For the warmth in me comes in waves

In flames that flicker and smoke my lungs without fear
As I race forward to find my tranquillity
so I can stop feeling so wild, to **** that feeling so fierce
And not face the light that will scorch me so

Been a while since I did a new form of poetry. This one is called a Nocturne - a free form poem that set at night. It has 16 lines in total and sometimes can come in 4 stanzas.

Not feeling 100% but I want to make use of what's going on in my mind,
which is a thousand things a second these days with anxiety burning very hot in me.

The more I remain lost in my head, the more the urge there is to escape it. Have you ever thought of the mistakes you have made, and feel like the worst person alive? Even though I am scared of being in the dark,
I fear the light more as it feels somewhat like a scope at times, y'know?

Especially in this day and age, so I suppose the symbolism of a rat scurrying in the dark is rather apt. But it is a cycle of thought I am trying to break,
The more I read about poetry and study it, the more I am both grateful for it...and in a way, heartbroken too. I feel like I need to trust my skills more, I suppose.

I'm still making the list for the Women of Myth series as I have some new ideas in mind. Maybe next year, I will take a short course on poetry as well.

It feels good to write free verses again, I'll admit.
I miss writing really long ones so I'll definitely go back to doing so.
Please stay safe and hale, everyone.
My regards to your families.
Have a wonderful day!
Be back soon with more.
Much love,

I'm not a drinker, (so I'm naive in the ways of alcohol) but it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Not something I'll make a habit of doing either lol cuz I'm a lightweight. Me and alcohol don't mesh well, that I can be honest about.
Drink responsibly always!
Know you limits!

I stand in front of a baroque mirror; grand,
gold, gilded with leaves, grapes, dolphins
angels, swans and shells. So wonderful, and
proud on my chamber wall. And in it, I see
myself  in a fitted dress, velvet, and of the
deepest plum kissed by gold-jacquard; a
single, heart-shaped Tanzanite suspended
from the girdle belt;  the skirts trailing
behind me.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
I marvel how the light hits the embroidered
florals with pearls and diamonds; they sweetly
glint and wink, sending shards of the rainbow
around my room. Around my slim throat,
a pendant, a coin with lace doily pattern,
and amethyst at the core the size of
a robin's egg.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
Across my forehead, a golden diadem
decorated with filigree, beaded with pearls,
delicate gem tendrils and patterned with
lotuses and lilies, the symbol of my proud
Aurelinaea. As I tuck a black curly ringlet
behind my ear, my earrings twinkles,
tear-cut, Tanzanite, with gold filigree.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
"My Lady has had a long day indeed,"
my senior handmaid Ainhana smiles
and waves her hands, her menagerie of
handmaids begin to help me undress.
Removing the jewellery, removing my
diadem, unlacing my dress and
removing my corsets and heels.
"You must be relieved that it is over."

✿⊰✲⊱✿
"Yes I am," I sigh as a handmaid presents
my iris-purple kimono robe which I slip
into. Another maid presents a large bowl of
rosewater while the other held a silver tray,
upon it, a milk-white towel spun from rose-silk.
I proceed to wash the make-up from my face.
The delicate aroma fills my nose, as my skin
feels cleaner, feels purer. As the waters drip,
I use the towel to wipe my face and pat
the rosy drops down.
Re-upload of my first poem, just broken down into three!

I just overheard
Koi fish do not have *******
In my sister's mind
Yeah, you read that correctly! And right now, I'm howling.
My sister apparently wanted to say 'koi fish don't have teeth' but said '*******' instead.
I'm dying loooool

Sing With Me A Song
Lyn-Purcell Apr 2018
The spell of worlds will flow right through
And wrap its arms around you.
In Fate's hand, the brush of night
that's drawn to the light.
Sing with me a song of blood, warmth and mist.
Here I float and I rise for a kiss.
Dawn cracks and dusk falls, as I talk to my soul.
Lost in thoughts all alone.

Hold up the quill, turn black to blue
with words of the consummate truth
And from a hand of love and strife
Tapestries come to life
Sing with me a song with depth, soul and heart.
In this world, light and dark don't depart.
Tides of setting suns, merge with the rising dawn.
Lost in thoughts all alone

Embrace the beams of the calming noon.
Just let the light caress you.
Within us all, a treasury
of gilt memories.
Sing with me a song of vibrating gold
Flowers bloom in the shade untold
Spread my fragile wings, the wind that I rode.
Lost in thoughts all alone.
I forgot how much I loved Fire Emblem Fates! I was playing the game with a friend of mine and it made me write these poems in my journal. Not great I know, but it was great to finally get some downtime in my hectic life. Sorry I haven't updated. I'll be back soon!

You know what they say about curiosity and boxes, this one is dedicated to the one and only Pandora.
Even when she ket curiousity get the best if her an unleashed so much negativity, she also released hope and that alone will see us through.

Lesson Learned #114
Lyn-Purcell Jun 2018
Dissect yourself. Get down to the root
of what your demons use as their
sustenance, and cut
it out.
Easier said than done, I know.
Rip out the causes of by the root and your demons will wither and die.
Be back soon!

In me, the flames
of conflict has me in pain
Mind, body and soul

And I see your helping hands
That now calms my storms
Thank you for all the kind comments and messages on my poem, Phoenix.
Especially Pagan Paul and Sue!

✿⊰✲⊱✿
Paul's courtyard is always one to
be admired; high cream coloured
arches with white statues of birds
upon sleek mint-green marble steps.
His myrtle hedges, high, hale and
trim, in spiral shapes that decorate
the courtyard; potted flowers and
trees by them.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
As the carriage rides down the mosaic
path to the palace; a glittering rainbowtic
mosaic orchestra for the eyes; me and
my ladies look to see the large-marble statues
built upon a large pond with waterlilies;
a life-sized history lesson of the proud
Kings of Luciuscemi from the first to
the current, King Paul, in his carved
regalia.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
The music grows into a crescendo as we
approach the palace. We admire his private
pool houses, each of various colours but had
mahogany steps and hanging flower baskets
and lights which makes me smile - I usually
came to Paul's court to discuss treaties but
to also relax and get away from home.
Paul always made sure his guests were
taken care of.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
"Look, my Lady!" says Ainhara and she points
at the benches of flowers; daffodils, roses,
lavender, rosemary, mint, white lilies
and many more. "He put flowers there in
your honour."
"Not just mine," I smile, "but of all his friends
from Kingdoms near and far. I am looking
forward to seeing him again."
Part 4 of the Gala! ^-^
