Bleeding Heart
Lyn-Purcell Jun 2018
Just when she thought she could
finally rest, she finds now she
must help conquer his
demons. Ones who
have plagued him
since birth
but for him,
she's more than willing
to give up all of who she is
to save him. Perhaps, her heart is too
big. For it bleeds for those touched
by pain.

If all is fair in love,
this means war
This is a poem for someone I know. Shes too kind for her own good, too caring too. Even when people tell her that she can't save them all.
Her latest relationship is a toxic one. Everyone seems to see and tell her but she won't listen. Theres only so much one can do....
Be back soon.

She with cheeks so fair
Her eyes dance with merriment
Love encrowns her brows

New day, new haiku!
Still working on feeling better too.
Now for the second woman of the Charites, Euphrosyne.
There isn't much on her per say.
No particular story that stands out, just that she is depicted dancing with her sisters. And that there is a mosaic depicting her with Akratus, servant of Dionysus and demi-God of unmixed wine.
Even so, she always struck me as lovely and joyous.
Anyway, thank you all for growing followers, I'm forever humbled and grateful for the support 🙏🌹💜

Snowing in mountains
Howling wind answers to none
The lost ruins calls

Frozen time collapse
Sleeping child rests before Falls
Mirror lake commands

To see the unseen
Promise of first Autumn Moon
Shall show you the way

But beware, my friend
Inside the Mountain's stomach
Riches of sickness
These haikus are inspired by The Hobbit.
I needed to watch something whimsical to take my mind of...well, my mind.
Head's pounding away with ideas and anxiety as well as my overthinking and paranoia of the worst case scenario of my life.

Rosy mists breaks skies
Dawn is painting the new day
Periwinkles sway

Smooth, glassy ponds
Sunrise flares sweet spokes of light
Noble groves of trees

Koi fish glide smoothly
Glimmer through seaweed like pearls
Their eyes shine with joy

A tree dew drop falls
Kiss the pool and forms dimples
Near to far rose shades
Had a trip to a park today. For once, the sun was shining, the sky was clear and the breeze was perfect. I sat at the top of the hill, closed my eyes and just imagined a quiet place in mind. So here it is!

Been a while since I wrote a classic haiku.

Beauty of Breasts
Lyn-Purcell Jun 2018
"May her ******* satisfy you."

******* were made to feed the
seed that grows in a woman's
womb, born between a couple's
love.

                                                                     When the seed has finally
                                                                      sprouted, they drink the
milk of the mother to help
                                                                      their growth.

The beauty of a woman is to carry life
The beauty of *** is to make new life
The beauty of ******* is to strengthen
that life

                                                                          Not for your filthy mind.
Why would you hate on a
                                                                          mother strengthening her
                                                                          child?

A life that a man helps to create.

                                Must everything be sexualized?
First off, thank you everyone for liking my poem, They May But They Won't.
I saw it was trending and I was so excited! I literally jumped from having 65 followers to 75! That was crazy! I'm super grateful for the comments and the support! I'm becoming more confident in my skills as a poet, knowing there are such wonderfully supportive people on HelloPoetry! You guys are awesome!

Secondly, this poem is dedicated to an incident I witnessed today. Some teenage boys were mocking a mother for breastfeeding her child. I was so angry but several women and men stood up for her, and the boys were kicked out! I approached the woman and we had a brief conversation about it. I don't get why people hate on such a natural thing. That's what women's ******* are for! You can give a baby formula but nothing beats breast milk! The boys attitude towards it was absolutely disgusting! So ******* are only used to attract and can only be playthings now? Anyone who has that mentality seriously needs to grow up!

I'm a young person with an old-soul. Fitting! ^.^
So, this poem is dedicated to all mothers everywhere, specifically breastfeeding mothers. I know how much of a strain breastfeeding can be (I'm 22 and my mother never lets me live it down loool) but still, people shouldn't be hating on this natural act, just like ***. *** is a beautiful act but in this day and age...you know, I'm not gonna get into this now! Maybe later.

Thank you everyone, really!
I'm super grateful.

"But I'll admit, how Paul is looking at those two is
bothering me." I raise a brow. "Ainhara, you
go and speak to Sue and Yidna, tell them I will
be there shortly."
Tucking an apple blossom in her hair, she curtsies and
leaves my side, joining the diverse conversation,
and joyous laughter.
As I walk up the steps, I see Edmund and his wife
walk down, I smile and nod their way which
they return and I am by Paul's side.
"Why is the King pouting now?" I roll my eyes.
"I legit may poison Brandon's food," he says.
"Paul!" I hit his arm.
"What! He's tempting me to do it! He's all

"Oh my," I facepalm, "You're upset that Brandon
is entertaining Esshi?"
"Yes," Paul pouts. "No fair, I saw her first! She's mine!"
"Oh Paul," I sigh and laugh, "Sometimes I don't
know what to do with you."
"You can help by assisting Luciuscemi take arms
against Huarean."
"Behave yourself!" I hit his arm again. "You are not going
to war with Brandon."
"He's flirting with my girl!"
"Talking, not flirting. There's a difference. He's not you!"
At that moment, Esshi giggles in response to
Brandon's comment.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
"I'm the only one that should make her smile
and laugh like that. She's too adorable!
So, I'm gonna wife her!" Paul says.
"I won't let you. And no, I am not jealous!" I cut him off and
walk down the steps, smiling at his antics.
"You're not going to stop me, Lyn!"
"Challenge accepted!" I wave my hand and
walk to Kim, Donna, Dean, Sue, Ainhara and Yidna.
"What was that about?" Sue asks.
"Paul's upset Brandon's talking with Esshi."
"Seriously?" Yidna tries not to laugh.
Kim only chuckles and Donna shakes her head.
"Between his incessant flirting and playful nature,
it's a wonder how Esshi has not exploded from
shyness. She certainly is a timid thing." Donna sighs.

Lyn-Purcell Jul 2018
The sheer beauty of you will
had made the Earth tremble
And managed to bring unity
to a divided race of
sentients

Behind you, the sheep would never stray
we would follow, conscious that we may
never return

The battles were long,
the battles were hard
And to you, a debt we can never to pay
back

For what you stood for was true unity
For every race that thrives in this world
and beyond

Within your sight, you would make it all right
You came, you strived, you conquered and you
died

Which I still can't believe...
Which I still can't accept...

Shepard

With everything that the perils dealt,
I never truly sat down and told you
how I felt

You brought me the light
You brought me the rain
You brought me the hummingbirds
And now you brought me pain as
a causality

But I know that your sacrifice will never
be in vain, as now we are strengthen by
that chain of unity, of the power in being
different and proud

We're equals who stand strong on the
same ground

Shepard

I can't tell you how much I miss you
How much I want to see your face,
and your heart and your smile
And I dream of us together
when we shared that last night
Even though I knew it was a final,
final goodbye

Shepard

Thinking of all the times we had, I didn't know
what to do, and then I realised how I was lost
without you

By your side, I could take on every world
and beyond. It's still so hard to accept that
you're truly gone
a light that we need
a beacon of hope

I know you want me to live,
and it's hard to cope

Shepard

I regret not saying this to you more
As I think of the times we had before
I will always remember you
I will always love you
No one can ever deny you your dues,
your service, your strength has made
you a monolith
I will carry on your legacy forthwith

Mass Effect is one of my favourite games - a true guilty pleasure.
One OST that stuck with me was the piano piece known as 'I Was Lost Without You.' It's so beautiful to listen too. So sweet yet haunting and intimate and tragic. A true masterpiece.

And let me know if I should do more tribute poems to games!

My affirmations. This is based on a drawing I did two years ago which I hang in my room so its the first things I see in the morning and the last thing at night. There are days that I smile at it. There are days that I can't stand the sight of it. There are days that I wanna show it proudly to people. There are days that I want to tear and forget it ever existed. But I don't. Its easy to think negative, that 'I am not' and admittedly, I still feel this way. But little by little, I'm starting to believe in myself. When I say and think 'I am', I claim it. Feeling so relaxed
I feel cleansed by my sad past
Flowers waved relieved

On my chest are seeds
From it, thorns of hatred grow
and they plague my soul

But now I do see
That I really must let go
of all my grudges

It is a poison
That I've been feeding my soul
And it's not worth it

I will now forgive
make peace and try to move on
the best that I can

I'll let my body
be a clean positive seed
from which light will sprout
Mentally now, I feeling alot better!
Slow and steady wins the race!

Autumn's Queen
Lyn-Purcell Sep 2018

'How humid the air is,' she murmurs
with her eyes closed. With her fair back
resting her bare back on a tree of eld,
she listens to the sounds of nature
The winds blowing
The flapping wings of geese
The songs of the birds around
The sound of falling leaves
Exhaling through her nose, she opens
her wet russet eyes, soaking in the
myriad of tumbling leaves from
orange to brown. She rises to her
feet, the sunlight kisses her straight
fiery hair. With each step she takes,
the wind blows and the branches
quivers.
'Winter's howling call,' she chuckles
weakly as she walked down the cold
pathway. Acorns fall in front of her
which she picks up. Seeing the squirrels
scrabbling around, she opens her palm,
'Here,' she strokes the squirrel's tail as
it takes the nuts and scurries away.
Here, in the heart of the forest,
the leaves fall golden as she sits
next to a pumpkin patch, each ripening
with their mistress near.
'The days grow short, the nights grow long,'
she places a hand on a pumpkin, 'I hear
your call, Sister.'
The cold winds twirl around in response
Let all prepare for the harvest is fruitful,
and the wolves will howl for the Frost
comes...

The nectar of the forbidden fruit,
the music that dances in your ear.
Crashing on bed,
the sheets ripple as you're lost to the
beat.
Your heart's aflame.
Tendrils of adrenaline begin to spark
and spread through you, from the
fingertips to your bedroom eyes.

Naked,
the silk sheets caresses massage your body.
Strokes like gossamer wings
flutter in you,
around you.
The golden sax becomes a sensual purr,
as you are kissed by the smooth
sounds of sweet murmurs.

Tongues are chisels
that leave you some sheen.
Fingers are brushstrokes,
that combs your chest and
forgets no details
as it traces shapes over
your goose-prickled flesh.
Writhing in the pleasure of
golden smoothness, with
lucid silhouettes of heated
summer layers during wintered nights.

The sax growls through your ears,
and all that is seen are its glittering lips,
the promise of the sweet doom and amour fou...

For
nothing is more
liberating,
nothing is more
enthralling than
the
carnals
thrill of the illicit.

A candied fingers to your lips...
This is kind of a first for me. I never usually write these sorts of poems, but hey! First time for everything. I was listening to some jazz music and man,
there is nothing more **** than the sound of the sax to me! I just let it flow while writing.

Fall on my tongue crisp

the best revenge I can have is

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
So here's the eleventh Epulaeryu! ^-^
Timeless, tender, tremendous!
Carrot cake, the classic which is great with a cup of coffee, or in my case, a cup of tea! ^.^
This is my mom's favourite, too. When she took me to that cafe a few days ago, this is what she had. She tried my lemon meringue **** and I tried her carrot cake. Heaven in my mouth, I swear T.T I could cry from the freshness alone. I know I say everything is heavenly, but man, I can't describe it any other way!
...I'm coming off as a glutton, aren't I?

Ego
We all have that desire
to climb high.

High enough to touch
the Heavens who watch
us through the stars.

High enough to look
down, admiring how
we got to that height,
with all the twists and
turns, stumbles, pauses
and falls.

Some have the chance of
being above the rest
earlier than many.

Those ones usually get drunk
on the power of being above,
never below. The head and
not the tail.

Their egos swell and all they
see, hear, touch and smell
are themselves.

I know because so many have
looked down on me from
above. And you know
what, I smile.

For one thing, you don't
know what sort of moral
compromises they made to
get to where they
are, which is why
I don't envy them.

Or if I do feel any slightly
envious, it's only for
a moment.

But one thing that I've
realised is that those who
get to the top, who look down
on me, who knock off the
crowns of arising kings
and queens.

Can't see what's above their own heads
and just as easily, they can crash and
burn.
This poem in particular is something I've been telling real good friends of mine for years. I realised this early and I've witnessed it first hand. At that moment, I didn't really feel envious for what people have. Although, I can't deny that I do feel slightly envious of what people do. Travelling, seeing the world, not having to worry about finances. They're stable. If I ever envy anyone, this is why.

I don't envy celebrities. I don't know what sort of sacrifice they made to get to where there are. There's no profit in gaining this world at the cost of my own soul. Not worth it at all. I won't ***** myself in anyway just to get a piece of fame. I believe that if I work hard, and with a lil luck, some hope and determination, it will come my way eventually. I'm not racing with anyone. I won't compete with anyone. I know better than that. I'm not perfect, I know that. So? I'm human just like you. I will mess up along the way. It's fact.
I won't pretend I'm something greater, knowing my flaws and faults.

Anyway, thank you everyone for all the love and kind comments.
You're all amazing!
Be back soon!

Arachne
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2020

Flawless is her art
Life now drips from every thread
Silk now spun in dark

New day, new haiku!
Now that I've done with the Pleiades, I'm back to other women of myth!
This one is for Arachne. Now she always stood out to me.
The myth I grew up with is that she was overly arrogant and proud about her talents. Athena challenged her and well, Athena lost. Even the Goddess of Wisdom and Handicrafts was in awe of Arachnes work. As Ovid said, Athena couldnt find 'a fleck or flaw—even Envy can not censure perfect art'. But then, Arachne didnt portray the gods in a good light either. (Tbh, most myths are about the Gods being ******* to humans AND each other). Athena tore the loom, in jealous rage and we all know what happened, Arachne became a spider. There are in fact two alternate stories with the same ending. One is the one I grew up with, Athena cursed her to be a spider, but the other one is that Arachne ended her life as the Goddess destroyed her proudest work and she was turned into a spider out of pity. Either way, I was alluding to a spider with the last line. Ironically, while writing this, I saw two spiders in my living room and several baby spiders in my garden.
Which doesn't help my arachnophobia 😅😅😅

Change
Lyn-Purcell Jun 2020
So sensitive skinned
Passions keep me from world's lies
My heart unscripted
I made a promise to myself that on my 25th birthday, Ill be making changes to myself, slowly but surely. Ive often hated myself for being so 'sensitive', I thought if I killed that part of me, Ill be happy. Now Ill be kinder to myself and embrace it as an asset, not a flaw. I will finally be tackling some old fears and demons. Its my very passion, my own fire that keeps me warm from the chaos of the world around me and the relationships of wonderful friends and family that keep me sane and grounded.
I want to be as real as I can and present the best version of myself everytime too.
As I said, Im working on new collection which I hope will be posted soon. Still got alot to research, haha! But I will be going back to continuing some collections here!
Stay safe and well everyone!
Much love,
Lyn 💜

Drift
Lyn-Purcell Sep 2017
The twine sides of the Golden Threads
shimmers above the inky abyss.
Raining tears of pure starlight
baptise me with your grace.
Wash away my iniquities,
calm my passions that
burn with the lust of
a thousands suns,
and replace them
with the tender
lullaby of the
moons.

Allow
me to be born
again. Allow me to
wake in a sea of clouds,
painted by the daily promise
of many hues. Let me be able to taste
the sweetness that grows, away from any
lemons that dares to moan, and break the shackles.

Allow me to drift.
Not the best of days today. I just wish I could let go of all that burdens me.

Thalia
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2020

Fair and bright beauty
Light feet revel with swift song
Joy blooms in her soul

New day, new haiku!
Feeling better today, haha!
I'm onto the last of the three Charities, Thalia. (Not to confused with Thalia the Muse, haha!)

Again, there isn't much on her as she is depicted with her sisters dancing.
But she does have a connection to spring. Her name, Thalia, comes from the Ancient Greek word, 'θάλλειν.' The Greek word 'thállein' means"to flourish, to be verdant - hence the connection to spring.

I also found that her name is also an adjective used to describe festivities, banquets and such.
Now that the main three Charites are done, I will be moving onto the younger ones! ^-^

Anyway, thank you all for growing followers, I'm forever humbled and grateful for the support 🙏🌹💜

Would
Lyn-Purcell Sep 2018

~
Would that the words would
come easily to me.
For me to be able to express
myself, to be a strong and proud
and confident bard...

Would that I could feel more
secure in the power of my ink
to not feel dread or shame or
depressed for now keeping
my ink flowing upon the
canvas...

Would that my soul would fall
into the arms of the true moon
that sees my soul...
I know that I am flawed.
I fear that one day my mistakes,
my past will catch up and drag
me down into a hell where others
loathe me...

And while my wounds are fresh
the ghosts that I have locked
behind the doors, the ones that
one time that I had loved and
let go for my own stability will
rise...

I can admit my faults,
but it hurts when my mind leaves
me floating in a dark sea; calm
with no light, no shore, no soul
in sight...

Would that I can believe
that indeed

I am good enough...
~

Scratching at my emotional wounds...
Still finding it hard to write...

Sunborn scales of the Imperial Dragon

whose body is entwined in a purple cloud.

His feathered tail whips around with vibrant colours as it

is  like the peacock's beloved eye of the Emerald Seas.

With coiling whiskers of fiery carnelians

and eyes born of liquid sunrise

whose roar rattles the sky and cracks the Pearl Moons

and out pours the Virtues of Harmony, wingless dragons

who dance to the music of the Heavens and it rains silver feathers,

wind-beaten. Sweet, soft, feathery wishes that perch on my

shoulders that brings me tranquil seas.
A poem that I wrote in my journal by looking at the night's sky.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
Following everyone down Paul's grand hall,
I cannot help but smile and hum, Ainhara's
arm links with mine.
"My Lady seems to be jumping with joy!"
Ainhara beams.
"I am," I chuckle, "I'm just so excited for
Donna and Dean to see their final present
from us all."
"As am I, my lady."
"So, how do you find King Brandon?"
I ask Ainhara.
"Very charming, " she responds, "and
very articulate. Like King Paul, he shares
your love for myths and legends."
"Well, they do hold truths. People
underestimate how much one can learn
from it."
"I concur."

✿⊰✲⊱✿
I look at Esshi and Brandon
walking in front of me. As she is
timid, I see that his smile and calm
nature put her at ease.
Soon enough, we found ourselves outside,
the afternoon sky has darkened and the
stars have bloomed.
'Perfect', I smile more as we all walk down
the marble steps two by two.
"Ok, everyone has their coin? If not,
please collect one from my guards
and make your wish at the Fountain!"
I hear Paul beam from ahead.

✿⊰✲⊱✿
"What will you wish for, My Lady?" Esshi
turns and asks me. "I know you have already
made a wish, but I assume you have more."
"Plenty," I chuckle. "I never run out of wishes."
Brandon smiles, "Sounds just like you, Queen Lyn."
"You can't blame me for being a little girl at heart."
As the queue moves forward, I see Donna and Dean
walk down together, pause, then throw their
coins into the water.  Then the other Kings and
Queens follow before it comes to Brandon
and Esshi's turn.
And finally, the last part of the Gala!
Enjoy! ^-^

Fear
Lyn-Purcell Jun 2018
I don't fear personal growth.
Emotionally.
Mentally.
Physically.
Financially.

In growth, I feel like I can find
my stability.

What I fear is being stunted.
Forgotten in the soil
never basking in
the light.
All I want from my life is stability.
All I want is to find some form of peace.
I've cut out alot of toxic peop!e, friend and family but still, they persist in coming back and making things harder than need be.
But I will go on. I will thrive. I will succeed in this life.
No matter what anyone says.

Be back soon,

Surprise
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2018
Before my journey
to King Paul's Palace Gala
I received a note

Being curious
I opened it and I gasp
and I fall in shock

My voice has been heard
Now I'll have a new conquest
But first, a small test

One I'm sure I'll pass
Then my studies will begin
Another conquest
I GOT AN INTERVIEW FOR MY 10-WEEK COURSE!!!!
***, I'M SO PUMPED!!!! ^-^
This course will be for ten weeks but I'll get so much out of it!
Interview's gonna be on the 3rd September but man, I was so stoked to hear that they are taking me on! It'll force me to tackle a series of challenges , to learn more about myself, and to conquer some of my fears.
Fingers crossed!

Moon mantled in clouds
From it falls tears of Heaven
Lotus kissed with dew

Barefooted, she walks
A lithesome body in white
Rose cheeked, tear-brimmed eyes

Her skirts made of mist
as she twirls and piroettes
and reaches for you

Her sleeves are water
They wave high, above her head
Drops become crystals

As she shines so bright
Crowned with cassia-blossoms
on her silk black hair

But why does she cry?
She hears the music of life
and yearns for the flame

The flick of her wrist
The lake murmurs its sad song
And she's reminded

As the petals rain
In hemp or rich brocade
We are like vapors
Appreciate life.

Ariadnê
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2020

Sleeps with skein in hand
Wined promise upon her lips
Threads hold up labyrinths

New day, new haiku!
This one is for Ariadnê, the Cretan Princess who is heavily associated with Labyrinths. She is also seen as a goddess to some to!
This haiku alludes to Theseus and the Minotaur to which Ariadnê is included in. She supposedly fell for Theseus and helped him to slay the Minotaur and they eloped but he left her. There are many variants of why, her being in a relationship with Dionysus (lover and in some his wife also) or that he was bored of her.
Even so, this haiku does hint to the Minotaur with the first and last line (threads have also become her symbol also) and Dionysus with the second line. The second line also hints her natural seduction also which I imagine Theseus and Dionysus found her to be too!
