Windows ***** or clean
Each tell a unique story
Depending which side you're looking from
Are you looking from the outside in
Or from the inside out
Every soul has two eyes
Two windows
Together they talk about a journey
A journey that started a long time ago
Like the glare of the sun on a glossy window
Some try to hide their transparency behind tinted glasses
I've been there
Prevent the world from seeing inside
Kindness mistaken as weakness
Silence as a lack of confidence
When in essence silence speaks louder than words themselves
What shall we do with all the cracked windows
Broken and smashed
Lying on the ground
Stripped bare of value
However an oasis of splintered pieces
Could configure a formidable mosaic of Love

Once Upon a Time
Sean Achilleos Apr 2018
Once there was a blue light
It shone bright over us in the night
Quiet in the midnight sky
When mankind was still kind
We looked not to religion
We looked not at tradition
We looked not at culture
We placed our hopes, dreams and aspirations not in a politician
When everyone was a person
No-one was a colour and titles did not exist
Simplicity was the name of the game
But then mankind ... the one who was suppose to be kind
Gave a name to everything
The division had begun
Was man-kind really kind?
What once was one had been splintered into pieces
Now we stand divided
Where have all the pieces blown, you ask?
Where are they hiding?
An incomplete puzzle we have become
However the answer has been revealed to few
But for now their tongues are on mute

Since When ...
Sean Achilleos Mar 2018
There once was a man who shouted … I am healed
His friends replied
That’s great but we didn’t realise that you were ill
The man answered
I have been healed from being gay
His friends responded
But to be happy is a good thing
The man said
No you don’t understand
Not gay as in being happy
But gay as in loving another man
His friends replied
Since when is Love an illness

SEDUCTION
Sean Achilleos Apr 2018
You got into your car and went looking for me
You had one thing in mind
You chose me among many others
Of course I came at a price
Then you fired me up
I felt the grip of your warm hands surrounding me
I knew you wouldn't let go until you're done
You forced your supple soft lips against me
At times it felt like you were ******* the life out of me
After using me to satisfy your need
You tossed me aside and stepped on me like I was nothing
You wanted to make sure that I was dead
There was no spark left in me
But I guess that is what you get
When you're nothing but a cigarette

The Biggest Regret
Sean Achilleos May 2018
Walking home from a local pub
The evening so quiet
With the distinct smell of magnolia
Lingering in the midnight air
I look up at the stars
Suddenly my thoughts are taken back in time
It seems like yesterday I think
Where did the time go
Those endless nights of excitement
We’d throw stones on a stranger’s roof
Dare to ring someone’s doorbell
Then run away as fast as lightning
We laughed so much our stomachs hurt
Now our muscles contract from stress
The needle had reached the end of the record
Lifted and returned to its holding place
The stereo light still burning when returning home
From an intoxicated night of pleasure and dance
Oh the bliss of ignorance and youth
Sometimes it’s better not to know
I continue to walk on
Suddenly I see a FOR SALE sign
Someone else’s dream has come to an end
Or perhaps it’s just begun
You never know how special the moment is until it’s past
The biggest regret is regret

NO QUESTIONS ASKED
Sean Achilleos Apr 2018
NO QUESTIONS ASKED
And so it came to pass that you were born
Your name chosen for you
It's not to say that you necessarily like your own name
But no say did you have in the matter
You were told what is right and wrong
Not that you agree with everything that you were taught
Because the people who taught you, were also taught by others at some point in time
How do you know that they were taught the right conduct in order to teach you?
How do you not know that you're just another victim of tradition?
Passed down from generation to generation
It doesn't make it right!
But once again ... No questions asked
Then you were introduced to a religion ... A belief system
And even though there are millions of beliefs in existence
You were told that yours is the only one which is right, and that all the others are wrong
Each man feels as passionate about their own belief as you do ... then why cast a stone?
Except that there is a major problem with this situation
Now we have a war between who's right and who's wrong
Even though your knowledge of other beliefs is based on how much you've heard ... which in essence becomes hearsay
Where is the Love in this, you ask? This is nothing but division and war!
Keep your mouth shut ... Shhh, no questions asked, remember ... You're not allowed to think for yourself
If you dare to do so
You are branded as an outcast ... non-conformist ... free thinker ... weird ... in rebellion and even anti-Christ
You've also come to understand that there are many different shades to life
Everything is not black and white
There are many shades of different colours
When adjusting the volume to your television
You adjust it according to your need
You don't put it on complete silence or full blast
But at a level which is comfortable for you ... this is the way it was designed ... Balance
Now you've come to know how people think
"Does he believe in God, they ask?"
The answer is "yes" ... But in a different way
To you God is the act of Love ... Be it anywhere ... Spirit is omnipresent
To you God does not live in a building somewhere made of bricks and cement
That building people like to call a church
Where does this so called Love come from and where can it be found, you ask?
Look no further than your heart and judge not a book by its cover
A man might seem squeaky clean on the outside, while in his heart darkness lurks
While another man might be having a drink at his local pub ... But his heart might be pure
Quote me not a verse from a book you did not write ... but rather ask ... "Hello, how are you?"
Brick and mortar shall crumble in time ... These so called "houses of God"
Likewise the body shall pass on ... Dust to dust ... Ashes to ashes
While only one thing remains certain ... The Spirit of Love is eternal
No questions asked

THE POWER OF NO
Sean Achilleos Oct 2018
The liberation that comes
When learning to say NO
One of the least used words
Yet one of thé most powerful

What will they say you think
Afraid to disappoint
What will they think you wonder

A heavy black cloud to be lifted from your shoulders
When suddenly to utter the word NO

You Reap What You Throw
Sean Achilleos Jan 2019
When people judge you harshly
Never judge them back
For the degree and measurement they have used to judge you by
Shall be the degree and measurement
Which shall be used when their judgement time arrives
Therefore don't worry about what people think or say
Why tire yourself about something you have no control over
Their words are likened to leaves blowing in the wind
Such people shall be trapped by their own words
And they have determined their own fate
The more stones such people throw
The more stones they shall reap
A harvest of stones
You reap what you throw

Maybe ... Just Maybe ...
Sean Achilleos Oct 2020
When half a century of my life has gone
I'd like to live in the countryside
Or maybe a cabin next to the sea
I would like a dog and cat of no special breed
Windy days to dangle the wind chimes
A Capil heater in a modestly furnished lounge
Curtains shut for instant midnight and candlelight for thought
No loud noise, and no glare from an insensitive TV screen
Bombarding the beautiful silence with negativity
A little art studio on the side where I can explore
Bottles with stained water and paintbrushes
No exhibition for condescending tongues and haughty eyes
Maybe all the above is just a dream
It may never become a reality
But it is still a dream
And maybe ... Just Maybe ... I can dream it into reality

Nature Will Always Win
Sean Achilleos Apr 2018
If ever you are in doubt
Always look towards nature
She will answer you with a non audible voice
Observe the stars in the sky
Observe the starfish on the beach
They are connected and speak of patterns
Patterns of nature
No matter how hot the day
The shade of a leafy tree is always cool
Venus carves out a perfectly five pointed star in the galaxy
Everything is in synchronicity
Nothing is coincidence
Realising that we are part of nature
Part of this living, breathing blue-ball we call planet earth
But more so, part of all
Like withering flowers at the end of Spring
Every season passeth
As we continuously transform
Changing even while changing
No beginning ... No end ...

Tuning Into God
Sean Achilleos Jun 2018
Tuning into God is like using the correct password
I once overheard a woman praying
She muttered Lord this and Lord that ... It was Lord all over the place
Suddenly I received a vision of someone writing a letter
Then casting it to the wind in hope that it will reach the correct recipient
Then I began to wonder, Lord who? Lord of what?
A title such as Mr. or Mrs. with no specific name attached
Then it dawned on me that so many words have been spoken to the wind
Blown away ... Lost in translation
The incorrect passwords
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
Bingo!!! Password accepted and your supplication is submitted
Whether it will be granted or not is not for me to say
However, I have heard someone say "I don't believe in God anymore, because He did not heal my loved one"
Once again I received another revelation
Had God healed your loved one, what then?
Would you have expected them to live forever?
And if they didn't ... What then?
Would you have lost faith?
Do we not know instinctively
That the day you were born, you were one day closer to the the day you are destined to die
Therefore death is part of life ... It's not the end
Simply a transformation
A never ending cycle of beginnings and endings
Life to death
Death to life
And the cycle continues

The Man Who Never Was
Sean Achilleos May 2019
The man who never was
Among a myriad of people
A shadow cast over water
Continually changing shape
Seen yet absent in presence
Opaque ... Yet a void
The man who never was
Translucent illusion
I could swear I heard him speak
Or was it simply the return of an echo from long ago
Again he didn't stand on the pier last night
Where he had never stood before
Therefore I ceased from looking for him
In places I knew he never was
The man who never was

When you enter the garden of life you will find many different shapes and sizes
The colours of the rainbow live therein
Violet blue daffodils and the blood red rose of love
Yellow, pink and orange are all around
Some trees stand so lofty they almost scrape the sky
Others grow happily in the shade of the taller trees
The velvet green lawn unfolds like a giant sized carpet
And highlights its surroundings as a backdrop to a stage
Considering that we are all just actors on a stage after all
No man can deny another his place in the sun
The tree can not tell the flower to uproot itself and grow elsewhere
The rose is fragile and fragrant
The cactus is rugged and requires almost no care
As one of these flowers in this garden
So we are all different from one another
Yet we all derive from one source
With the knowledge of all-ness comes the greater wholeness

BLACK DOG (The Leech)
Sean Achilleos May 2018
Black dog, black dog
Why do you follow me
What do you want
Why do you rob me of experiencing joy
I try to flee ... It's no good
Wherever I go
There you are too
I fled to a foreign country in aid to escape you
But low and behold there you were
Waiting to welcome me at the airport
Black dog, black dog
Aren't you embarrassed
You ought to be ashamed of yourself
I wish I could **** you
I would if I could
But then I'll have to die too
And I refuse to give you any form of satisfaction
I intend to stick around just to spite you
What do I have that you want so badly
You feed off me
You're nothing but a parasite ... Leech
Black dog, black dog
I can't stand the feel of you
You're a brain drain
Keep me chained at home
Yet you grant me creativity
But at a price of course
I love to hate you
And worst of all ... You know this
A paradox of gross contrast
Black dog, black dog
I have a plan up my sleeve
I'm going to buy a brand new pair of pliers
Then, slowly ... One by one
I'm gonna pull those teeth of gleaming white
I will destroy your deadly bite

Tortured Soul
Sean Achilleos Apr 2018
Though this world is full of people
There is no one for you
You are entirely alone
You observe a film and catch a bird's eye view of a giant size city
You see the enormous buildings
Uncountable windows
In every window there is a light
Where there is a light, there is life
So many people you think
How is it possible that I am alone, you say
Every time you reach out to be loved
It crashes on barren ground
Most don't understand you
And those who do
Only understand a small part of you
Forever giving of yourself
Yet never receiving
A soul in anguish
Yet you know that out of darkness and despair creativity comes
You long for those short lived moments
Like a flower that blossoms in season
Only to wither away when the moment is over
Trampled underfoot by the clowns of this world
The ones who know so much, yet actually know so little
The ones who base their cleverness and worth on their fattened bank accounts
They say we are all equal and deserve happiness
Really now???
Or has our life path been carved out before the beginning of time
Some to thrive and others to suffer
Like Judas was chosen to betray Jesus
I'm sure he just fulfilled his role in life, somebody had to do it
Yet it's human nature to question why you are devoid of Love
Have I done something wrong in a previous life, you ask
Afraid to smile in case it gets wiped off by the reception of bad news
For the vulture is forever watching while sitting on the perch
Waiting quietly like a scarecrow in a field
For when you fall he will be ready to devour

Glutton of Sorrow
Sean Achilleos May 2018
Oh glutton of sorrow
Nothing is ever sorrowful enough
One sorrow on another
Give me something to be sorrowful about, she cries!
When all is well ... All is not well with the sorrow glutton
Simply because there is nothing to relentlessly complain about
In her little corner of the world
Forever the victim she paints
Anyone willing to listen to her songs of sorrow
She will surely pull down with her
Into the depths of despair
A bottomless darkened pit
Virtual vampire of energy
Too lazy to live on her own fuel of life
To live off other people's sympathy
Oh it makes her thrive
Never does she utter a trusted word
For it is surely someone else's thought she stole
Blank canvas without a frame
Forming a collage
A collage of other people's personalities
Yet none of her own
The sympathy card she will play
Time and time again
Until you shout ... Game over!
Only then will she look for another to continue her sorrowful game

Word & Action
Sean Achilleos Jan 2019
Every judgemental word of stone that you cast
Shall ricochet and slap you in the face
When you gossip
Be careful
For a bird might hear you
And tell others what you had said
Don't fire arrows of jealousy
For you shall be put to shame
Don't try to mould someone into what you'd like them to be
Unless you're willing to do something against your own will
Don't accuse others of wrong action
If you are guilty of more
For your skeleton in hiding
Will almost always fall out of the cupboard at the most inopportune time
Be who you are
And people shall respect you more
It's better to deal with a criminal
Than to speak to one who wears a mask

Some people only feel when they hurt
Investing in a taker is like throwing your hard earned money down a bottomless well
It will never prove a return
Echos and silhouettes
Apparitions and mirrors
Yet not amounting to the real thing
Dogs barking at shadows on the lawn
Chasing their own tail ... Chasing the wind
Death is a more considerable option to the taker
As long as he doesn't have to give

Speck of Dust

Sometimes the most valuable things in life are hidden in plain sight
And now that you are gone
We are left with only a void
There seems to be some kind of hollowness
While the days are long and deeply quiet
There's a tangible silence in the air
And nobody knows quite what to say
Words can not make it right
Words won't bring you back
Even tears seem futile
A picture frozen in time
Displayed in a time capsule
You are virtual now
And will never grow old
Your smile will never fade
The smile you so often used to hide the pain ... pain unseen
Your mask became heavier to bear
Like a goldfish in a small bowl
Swimming round and round
Life pushed you down just as you were coming up for air
But we will live by your request
To remember the good times ... for you

Nature itself has boundaries by which it abides
The waters of the sea can only go as far as the shore
Unless instructed otherwise
Likewise you need to set boundaries in your own life
You are responsible for who you allow entry into your life
Keep the darkness at bay
But remain open to the light
Who is the light you may ask
Those who bring forth the best in you
And remember not everyone who says "I love you" is necessarily of the light
Weeds grow among flowers too you know
Who is the darkness
Those who practice envy, strife, and sow destruction
Who reflect their dislike of themselves upon others
Avoid such people
Do not engage
Lest they reel you into their bottomless pit of despair
Like a fly you may get tangled in a web
From which there might be no escape
And soon the spider will emerge to devour its prey
Learn from your mistakes
That's what mistakes are about
For you to obtain knowledge
But NEVER repeat the lesson
Forgive but keep a distance
Never allow your heart to be darkened
It will only make your enemies happy
The world consists of givers and takers
No one stands in the middle
Trust your gut
It will never tell you a fib
Keep the good and cast away the bad
But never forget what you had learned from the bad
LEST YOU REPEAT IT
Don't be afraid to use the word "no"
You'll be surprised how much power such a small word contains
Always try to do the right thing
And remember that the journey which you are on
Is YOUR responsibility alone
So remain true to yourself
And don't forget to enjoy the ride while you are at it

Twice a Fool
Sean Achilleos Oct 2020
When I was younger I was easily stressed
Now that I'm older I've come to realize that I've wasted a lot of time worrying about things I had no control over
I didn't have control over it then
And I don't have control over it now
Every time I go through a bad time in my life
It makes the previous times seem less bad
It's then that I ask myself, why the hell didn't you just enjoy yourself
What you were stressed about seems so insignificant now
It's like looking at a picture of a past love
You almost always ask yourself ... What was the fuss about ...
And somehow they never appear as pretty as you had remembered them to be
The veil has come off and the ******* truth has been exposed
Like the man who is hungover in the blistering sun
It never goes down well

alone
Sean Achilleos Sep 2018
can you see me
do you recognise me
did you acknowledge me in the womb
or did you pay me no heed
a lovechild i was born
it was not i who rejected you
but you who rejected me
why should i carry your burden
your guilt
joined by an umbilical cord
your pain became my hurt
your anxiety became my fear
your rejection my way of life
my demon to fight
a void of baby photos
sparked an avalanche of photos in adult life
always posing in search of finding my face in a crowd
a mother harbouring a secret
an absent father
see me
see me
see me please
cries a silent voice inside
i seek your approval
day in night out
a closer look in the mirror
reveals a story untold
though a thousand people around me
i am always alone

A Need For Want
Sean Achilleos Oct 2020
When I was young I wanted to be older
Nowadays I wonder whether I should walk on my hands so that gravity can pull my skin in the opposite direction
Gravity can be so unkind, yet I guess it keeps me grounded
I see miserable people live long lives
And the good die young
Like and Love ... some still battle the difference
Many get what they want
But is it what they need
Or just a need for want ...

The Coldest Winter
Sean Achilleos May 2020
This is not just a tangible cold
But a chill in the heart
To say goodbye and love from afar
For the very one you held so dear
Became the root cause of many a fear
One never knows you're in the eye of the storm
Until you escape and look back
From the other side of the mirror
Things have now become clear
Uproot and cast away
The naysayers who sowed pitfalls in your way
Yet bid such not a bitter farewell
For hiding underneath that glossy shell
Unveiled a serpent you thought you knew so well

Who Am I
Sean Achilleos Apr 2018
I know that people were created to live together in Love and harmony
Regardless of their skin colour, beliefs or ****** orientation
But do they? Do we?
Somewhere the master plan was interrupted and a lie was born
I believe in a power called Love
Love is light and light is God
Which I believe is the highest source of energy
But people will always have their difference of opinion
I also recognize that there is a lot that we don’t know
And things are not always the way they seem
Don’t believe everything you’ve been told or taught
Even teachers were taught at some point in time
And if the wrong things were taught to the teachers to teach
Then the system is unauthentic
People will try to convince each other of who is right
So they create a war and **** as many innocent people as possible
And they call this a victory
I believe that when we transition from this world to the next level
We will come into full knowledge which will result in Love
The same way that complete Love results in complete knowledge
The transformation of moving from the flesh to the spirit
Means moving from the darkness to the light
Moving from a condition where there was once a lack of knowledge
To a circumstance of full knowledge
Then we will know LOVE

Irony
Sean Achilleos Jan 2019
There once was a man
Who lived a long long time ago
He went by the name of Jesus
Sadly He committed horrendous crimes
He healed the sick
Caused the blind to see
Walked on the water
And dispelled any form of iniquity
And for ALL the above He received the death penalty
Today there are those who steal, ****** and ****
Their sentence ...
You shall go to a place we call prison and reside there for free
There you shall receive three meals a day ... On time
You shall have a roof over your head and a warm bed to sleep in
You shall stay there for a period of time
While you're there you can watch TV and have full use of the gym
Once your stay has expired
You shall be released back into society
Where you most-likely will commit the same offence
But not to worry
You will always have a place to call home
Where the cycle shall repeat itself
And as for the rest of society
Who cares about the people who were affected by your heinous crimes
As long as you weren't injured while committing them
Sleep peacefully

Hard shall be your days
Gloom shall be your nights
To bring you to that point
The point of creation
A love hate situation
One can't exist without the other
No sorrow
No creativity
Depression more than a companion
Pain is your gain
Salty tears you shall cry
Carry your burden and blessing
To obtain your title
The title of ARTIST

Often misunderstood

Until your next creation
Only free for moments short lived
For a fleeting moment in the spotlight
A brief moment on the stage

You want to scream
Pull your hair with fists clutched tight
Boiling over inside
A pressure cooker ready to explode
Your lid is ready to fly
Like an electric guitar reaching a screeching ******
You want to bash everything to the ground
Red lipstick words scribbled on white painted walls
Words of scorn
Words that warn
Debauched in madness
Seduced by sadness
One big ball of crazy
Devouring everything in sight
Goat or sheep
Blood will bleed
The coming of the Lion

Sean Achilleos Jul 2018
Are you depressed
Write it Out
Do you feel lonely
Write it Out
Do you have pain
Write it Out
Devote all emotion to writing
Write Write Write
Don't hold back
Scream with written words
Disclose every feeling and thought
Empty your heart to pen and paper
Rip off thé emotional scab
Allow that wound to erupt like a volcano
Burst into words of flame
Let all the infected lava boil out ... EXPLODE
Write it out ... Shout it out ... Spit it out ... Get it out
Knowing that you will be the only reader of your writing
Say what you think ... What you feel
Not what you think another might want to hear
Write until you are exhausted ... Nothing left to say
Read it several times ... Read until you tire
Take a deep breath and set it to flame
Then let it GO

A Story Unwritten
Sean Achilleos Nov 2018
When I was a child
I thought I'd live forever
Now that I'm an adult
I tell myself that I simply won't die
But that someday I'll be raptured into a cosmic sphere of ecstasy
To read the engraved words on a tombstone
I once was where you are now ... And someday you'll be where I am now
But where are you
You never returned to tell the end of the story
Left me hanging in the air ... Waiting ... Guessing
Thus I accept
Darkness to light
Flesh to spirit
And while in the midst of an incomplete journey
A story unwritten
I have no choice
But to enjoy the ride

Change of Season
Sean Achilleos May 2018
The sun is far away
Rusty coloured leaves are curled up against the sidewalk
Like a homeless drunk trying to keep warm
Everything looks pale outside
As the wind whistles through the bare trees
Time to reflect
Cold body, warm heart
Am I where I should be
Am I in the right season
The seasons of my life
The picture always seems different when looking through a window
Until you're outside in the cold
No season can be escaped
To sail on through is all you can do
The days are shorter and the nights seem endless
Hold on, hold out
Soon the ice will melt
And what has been hidden will be revealed

Into the Light
Sean Achilleos May 2019
To forgive the unforgivable
To carry on as if nothing's wrong
Though you have too much on your mind
And a mountain on each shoulder
To push through the storm
Because you know the calm is waiting
Like a creature of nature who hibernates during the long and cold winter months
Until the warmth of the sun is felt
The ice slowly decays
Invisibly cocoon yourself from all that is around you
And know that better is to come
Better is on its way
Pay no attention to the shadows
For that is what they are ... Mere shadows
The more you look at them ... The taller they grow
Cast luminosity and it shall terminate their existence
For the dark can not exist in the light
But the light of Love will banish all darkness

Once there Was a Man
Sean Achilleos Apr 2022
There once was a man who didn't know what to do with his money
He saved it all for a rainy day
But that rainy day never came
He lived modestly and tightfisted
Deprived himself from many pleasures
But when the time drew near for him to die
He realised that all good things he had denied himself
Were to become someone else's pleasures and treasures
Too late it had dawned on him that he had existed for a short time
But that he had forgotten how to live for a long time

LOVE
Sean Achilleos May 2018
If love was tangible what would it be
Do you hear love in the beat of your lover’s heart
Do you see love in the smile of an innocent child
But what good is love if you have it not...if you know it not
You can merely hear it...you can merely see it
But you feel it not
Still we hunger for love
Black or white...day and night
Man or woman...young or old...we all run the race
Searching this whole world...in my world or in yours
We keep searching for love
We search the depths of the ocean
The outer limits of the cosmos
We keep searching
Some say they have found love
But how great is love
How do you measure love...is there a measure to love
And when you’ve reached the end of the road and your journey is complete
You find that you’ve been running at a losing streak
Your chasing race has been in vain
Then you look in the mirror and hear the voice of love say
Are you perhaps looking for me
I have been here inside of you all along
Love begins with you

To read people like books
I've read many books in my time
Some good ... Some bad
Some deep ... Some sad
Some books don't relate to their covers whatsoever
Some consist of a simplistic cover
Yet relay a deeper story
Others have an immaculate cover
But with no substance inside ... Blank pages
And yes everybody can write a book
But not every book is a Best Seller

You'll only start to know a little bit about me after I'm gone.
You'll scratch the surface to find some details
You'll say...why did he not endure?
Why did he give up?
But you will never know the price of inner loneliness
While the rest of you dance
While the rest of you smile
A lonely heart is floating somewhere
Being used by the vultures who don't give a **** for life itself
And so it will come to pass
Moments you failed to express a feeling of care
A feeling of Love
A word of encouragement
But you kept it all inside
Brainwashed not to show emotion
The cost of time
Time you can't reverse

Revelation and Continuity
Sean Achilleos Jul 2019
I once said that I don't want to be like my father
He was too harsh a man
I once said that I don't want to be like my mother
She was too passive a woman
To make do with what I've got
Paste together the pieces of a broken puzzle
In the past I believed that God judged me;
according to how people had judged me
I believed I was loved only conditionally;
according to how those around me chose to love me
A degree, percentage or not at all
But I was missing in this picture
Where was the unconditional part of love I now ask
What happened to having a moral compass
However morals seem to have gone out the window
And the compass is broken
When my mother died
I was deeply saddened
When my father died
I felt alone
Who is left I shouted
I am now truly alone
My mind emerged to a deeper understanding
A new revelation
If God were to be my parents
Blemish free
An unconditional love
My earthly parents were then just vehicles
There's no need to model myself on either of them
I could just simply be
For in reality they too had no mother or father
Perhaps they never knew this
Their parents also just vehicles
Stepping stones to life
Then truly no-one is an orphan
Do I feel lonely ...
Why would I
Why should I
How could I
When I am never alone
Though I don't always feel that this world is my home
I shall continue to sing a song
Write a poem
Whistle a tune
Thus I have thrown caution to the wind
People passing through my life
Like ships slowly disappearing in the horizon
Sailing away
I observe them come and go
Should I wish them back
I'd rather wish them well
Who has sailed has sailed
Continuity man's key to survival

Contrast
Sean Achilleos Jun 2018
Like black and white keys on a piano
They fit like hand to glove
Darkness strengthens the light
And the light contrasts the dark
To play a song on the ivory key only...would be unlikely
To only play your song on the ebony key may start to sound out of tune
Therefore play your life song on both the ebony and the ivory keys
And you shall find a melody
Your life song of harmony
For there is darkness in the light
It makes the light shine brighter
And there is always a light in the dark

Mary, woman often overlooked
How deep was thy pain
Unfathomable sorrow
Face in the crowd
To bear witness
You who bore the Light
Made to observe the Light dwindle
A kiss of deception
Sweat and blood
Nail and wood
You lingered until the last cry
Only silence remained
But when the third sun rose
A massive stone was rolled away
Tomb clothes exchanged for a white robe
And the Light shone again

Oh thy restless soul
Forever wandering
Forever running even when no-one is chasing
A restlessness comes from deep within
Never at ease
To many places you have travelled
You've seen the dark
You've seen the light
But a hollowness remains
Though you are indoors
Your heart is outside in a thunderstorm
Lightning strikes
But an eye you do not blink
Alive but dead
A restless chase
Forever in a hurry
But with no destination in mind
Tears you refuse to cry
They simply turn pale blue
There is no way to console you
Oh my restless soul

Sharp shards of glass
Shattered pieces everywhere
So was your life
So was your mind
Tortured soul in distress
In the dark while in the light
Blinded by anger
Driven by fear
Take me out of the equation you say
Out of the picture
To run from ones own shadow
Until you meet yourself again
Somewhere along the dusty road
Years have passed as in a dream
With uncertain shaky fingers two hands collide
To embrace a broken mess as if it were whole
A cloud lifts
Faces of hope are raised towards the sun
A new day has begun

Too much trauma
The brain needs a rest
Who cares
Too much of everything
To sleep with no interference
In isolated solitude
A moment of no spoken word
Curtains drawn
Darkened room
My room of gloom
Devoid of thought
No telephone to insensitively pierce the silence
No one to enter the room uninvited
Utter words of razor
Cutting into you
Into your very soul
A hellish insensitive voice
The one that could make you ****
Feel no shame
Carry no blame
Then go back to sleep
