Signal
Broken context,
Separation of thoughts,
Lost meaning,
Cut-off,
Always at the most important moment,
When a sharp response is vital,
Or when urgency is needed,
Or when you are desperate,
In the darkest moments of untold fear,
Never in the time of peace,
Or when you want to be alone,
Only when friends need to lean on each other,
When support is required,
From the other side,
Of a tear-streaked touch screen,
That is the time,
When the signal decides,
It has had enough,
And gives up.
In light of the fact you ******* hate me,
Please refrain from your ******* game,
You've made it clear through years of torture,
That disgust runs through your every vein.

In light of the fact you know I'm lonely,
Please stop reminding me every day,
I don't need you to show me a new path,
If it's alright with you I'll just stay.

In light of the fact I've heard your crying,
Don't think I believe your act,
I'm fully aware that you feel emotion,
I was there the day you cracked.

In light of the fact you wish I'd die,
I might decide to do just that,
Would it make you feel so much better?
If my heart's line was finally flat?

In light of the fact I'm sick of your ****,
Could you please shut the **** up?
If only you understood quite how hard it is,
To drink trust from a broken cup.

In light of the fact I've had enough,
Maybe you could leave me alone?
If you let me get on with my crumbling life,
I'll let you get on with your own.

In light of the fact [Edit]
In light of the fact I know you hate me,
Please refrain from your stupid game,
You've made it clear through years of torture,
That disgust runs through your every vein.

In light of the fact you know I'm lonely,
Please stop reminding me every day,
I don't need you to show me a new path,
If it's alright with you I'll just stay.

In light of the fact I've heard your crying,
Don't think I believe your act,
I'm fully aware that you feel emotion,

In light of the fact you wish I'd die,
I might decide to do just that,
Would it make you feel so much better?
If my heart's line was finally flat?

In light of the fact I'm sick of lies,
Could you please stop going on and on?
If only you understood quite how hard it is,
To live when your trust is gone.

In light of the fact I've had enough,
Maybe you could leave me alone?
If you let me get on with my crumbling life,
I'll let you get on with your own.

Perfect Cadence
If music is love expressed, then how will my song play?
Will each phrase be smooth with content or broken by loss?
Will the notes be frantic and panicked, like my searching heart once was?
Or steady and certain, as my head is now?
Will  the hands on the keys be shaking and cold?
Or free from fear and dancing in confidence?
How many voices will join the ensemble?
And for fleeting moments or prolonged duets?
Will I keep moving forward with driving rhythms?
Or pull everything back and take a more leisurely pace?
Maybe there will be a turning point, when dark becomes light, or when shadows grow stronger still.
Or perhaps a gentle fade, as each perfect harmony wears away at my soul.
Whether the music rises or falls does not concern me, however.
For the beauty of music is not in the highest note or the hardest bar.
It is in the reason behind every dot on the page.
And In the end there is no point in music for the sake of music, just as there is little point in love for the sake of romance.
I know there will be moments of unsure dissonance and outright clashes that were never meant to be.
But I'm hopeful, that in the same way as in music, eventually all will be resolved.
So I hope not for drama, but an unforced and natural conclusion:

**A perfect cadence.

A Limerick of Me
A teenager, consumed by hate,
Stayed up incredibly late,
Struggling to sleep,
Though the darkness grew deep,
He convinced himself of his own fate.

His hands reached to open the pills,
As he sought to make himself ill,
But he remembered a friend,
Who prevented his end,
And in a moment he ran out of will.

Alone he decided to write,
Of how he was feeling that night,
The response he received,
Filled him with glee,
And drowned his heart in delight.

So he started to write more and more,
For longer than ever before,
He finished a book,
Immediately hooked,
Though he wasn't sure exactly what for.

Quaternity
Divided opinion,
Conflicting beliefs,
Destroying solidarity,
Heart against head,
Trust against paranoia,
Love against rational thought,
The two factions grow apart,
No longer able to function as one,
In bitter hatred,
They turn against sense,
Then within their own ranks,
Both sides host rebellions,
A second divide,
And now four sub-cultures,
Live within one body,
The heart,
Split between love and fear,
The head,
Split between order and chaos,
But in the end,
Their ideals are the same,
Having all experienced the horror of war,
And the glory of peace,
It would only take the briefest moment,
Of simple reason,
To unite this quaternity,
Into one.

Frost
A slight shimmer,
Coat the grass in silver,
Gild their edges,
Turn them into blades,
Let the army rise up,
With their weapons drawn,
Against the blinding light,
The great oaks prepare,
Tightening their glinting armour,
Anchoring firm to hold their ground,
The front lines arm themselves,
With concealed spears,
And twisting barricades,
All glazed in white,
But their loyalty lost,
And their blades softened,
Their armour crumbles,
Their spears break,
At the careful,
Whispered breath,
Of the sun's waking.

Let the metal sing
A shallow breath,
A gentle tone,
Sustained,
Ringing out,
Calling the trees,
Whose ears bend to hear,
Subtle harmonies,
Growing,
Calling the hills,
Whose eyes close to hear,
More clearly,
The song,
Calling the earth,
Who stirs the sleeping seeds,
So they too,
Can hear,
The calling chimes,
Asking the world to smile,
As they resonate,
So easily,
And sing their metallic song.

One month
Every day,
For a month,
I have tried to write,
From my heart,
Through my hands,
Onto paper made from light,
Though I found,
It hard at times,
I think it's gone alright,
And I hope,
You have enjoyed,
Joining my mind's flight,
Your words for mine
Have kept me smiling,
And helped keep my heart bright,
So thank you all,
And I hope you'll stay,
To see tomorrow's flame ignite.

Yesterday is lost
Our dreams span years,
Our hope lives for ages,
But a single look away,
And they are gone.

Our words are chosen,
Precise in their subtleties,
Yet so easily forgotten,
Now they are gone.

Our friendships are grown,
Constructed over time,
But connections cut,
The strings now gone.

Our lives are built,
Each on different foundations,
Slowly they crumble,
Until all evidence is gone.

Shaking hands
Fingers, tremble
In your craze-driven dance.
Tendons, tighten
In your maddening trance.
Bones, quake,
With your brittle fear.
Muscles, pulse,
Let your breaking points draw near.
Vessels, burst,
Pressure too great.
Joints, seize,
Disconnect from fate.
Lungs, collapse,
Breaths shallow and stale.
Skin, strain,
And stretch until pale.

Trust
How can we trust?
When there are so many ways to be betrayed,
And so many reasons to fear,
Why do we believe anyone?
Is it some irrational instinct,
To keep us together,
Despite our fickle minds?
Or a fading dream,
Of how we used to see,
And how we used to feel?
Can we accept the truth,
In words on a screen,
When the face behind them is hidden?
Should we be afraid,
Of what we can't prove,
And what will never be known?
Is blind faith lost,
To this race of skeptics?
Does it have a place any more?

Is there an answer to these questions?
Yes.

But we all answer differently.

Disturb
Silence,
Everlasting,
Not a single motion,
Not a single sigh,
Or blink,
Or a glint of an eye,
Reflecting the empty sky,
No emotion,
The concept of feeling unheard,
By the non-existent ears,
Of unborn children,
Never ending dark,

But for a whisper.

A single suggestion of light,
By a single flame,
The final survivor,
Desperate,
To disturb the peace,
And bring just a hint,
Just a glimmer of life,
To the frozen world,
Just a moment,
Of happiness,
And a subtle embrace,
Of warmth.

Better
I'm better now,
I am,
I've shut off that part of my mind,
No,
Cut off
There are no connections left,
I was not born until,
After.

I'm better now,
I am,
I don't need this mask,
I don't need to hide,
Because all I had to hide is gone,
And my eyes want to see,
Without the blur at the edges,
Of my life.

I'm better now,
I am,
Just don't ask me
Because then I'll snap,
And I won't hesitate,
I will stop your questions,
By any means,
Or any blade.

I am better now,
I am,
Please believe me,
No one else will,
They keep making things worse,
Picking at the wounds I thought were gone,
Forcing me to bleed,
When I thought I was empty.

I was better,
I thought,
Am I still?
I'm not sure,
I really don't know,
But I know one thing:
I am better,
When I'm with friends.

Sculpture
Chip away,
Piece by piece,
At the unrefined granite,
Erode each layer,
Define it further,
Find the perfect contours,
The creature within,
That lives and breathes,
But beneath a prison of rock,
And you hold the key,
A chisel,
Take it away,
Chunk by chunk,
Reveal the true form,
Let its eye see again,
Let its fingers reach for the sky,
Perfected,
Not created,
Reduced,
From rough stone,
To beauty.

Sub-net Mask
Binary emotion,
On or off,
Smile or frown,
Love or hate,
One or the other,
No in between,
A painted mask,
To hide my eyes,
That run a system check,
On every face in range,
Good or bad?
Trustworthy or liar?
Decided immediately,
By a single glance,

But only outside cyberspace,

For on connection,
The server responds,
My mask fragments,
I release the inner-workings of my soul,
To so many,
And my fake smile,
Finds new truth,
In words flickering on a screen,
My feelings reconfigure,
And my default gateway,
Becomes conversation,
Not a cold shoulder,
Reboot.

Look at me
My child, has it been long enough?
Can you see me yet?
For so long, I wait,
To spare you from tears,
I let you move on at your pace,
I ignore my needs,
You need me more than ever now,
So why would I deny you that?
Take my hand,
Remember I am here,
No matter how dark it is,
No matter how well-hidden you are,
I will search for you,
I will find you,
And I will bring you back,
I will let you learn to live without her,
So that maybe you could teach me,
I will support you,
I will avoid the subject,
Or talk it through,
For as long as you want,
As many times as you need,
Just promise me,
You will look at me,
And see me,
Not a replacement for her.

Decide
We don't want to choose,
Well you have no choice.
We don't want to lose,
Then which path will you take?
We just want to do what we want,
But that's not what we want.
If you think you can force us, you won't,
We have our ways.
Let us do the things we love,
But your opinion doesn't matter.
Then we'll take it to those above,
Be my guest, they'll say the same.
We are ready now,
We have always been ready,
We have worked out how,
To do what?
To choose,
Finally,
To ignore your views,
Listen to us,
This time, it's on our terms,
But our terms are better,
This time, it's our turn,
Yes, to choose your future with us,
No, to decide our own.

People who care
A glint of silver,
In thick fog and smoke.
A random spring,
In the driest desert when you need it most.
A fallen tree,
That stops you just before the edge.
A gentle smile,
In your darkest hour.
The hands on your shoulders,
That tell you to get a grip.
The harsh words,
You needed to hear.
The break in the clouds,
As the hurricane hits.
The gust of wind,
Revealing your face to a stranger,
Ripping off your mask,
So that they can see you for who you are.
A gentle nudge,
That leads you to your fate.
A slammed door,
To show you the other way.
The exploding star,
Who in their dying moments brought you light.

Friends are precious,
People who care are priceless.

I am
I am second place,
I am the runner-up,
I am the one who comes so close,
Just to mess it up.

I am the failed designer,
Who left out the crucial part,
And without a thought condemned to death,
A thousand heavy hearts.

I am a second too late,
I am the narrow miss,
I am the one who lost the girl,
Just before the kiss.

I am the last survivor,
The final one to die,
Who saw his friends bleed and pass,
Before his very eyes.

I am the chosen one,
Who failed to meet their fate,
I am the glaring disappointment,
Overwhelmed with hate.

I am inside everyone,
I live within the soul,
But lucky for you, instead of me,
You will meet your goal.

Haste
Feet running faster than they can
Keep up with my master plan
And spread your wings. Take
To the skies, don't let them fake
Your death, for goodness' sake
Keep moving, no need to wait
For them to catch up, we'll make
Them work to catch their man
Though we always know they can
Steal control from our hands
That shake
Before the earthquake
We can anticipate
Death.
On a scale beyond all
That came before the fall
Before we heard the call
To arms! All great and small!
That started the wrecking ball
Of war.
But instead we escape, above
The clouds we hide in love
The plain white peace dove
That always will and always does
Its duty.
And from our vantage point we see clear
That every single one of the people here
Is filled with a simple and stupid fear
Of believing too much in what they hear
Is right.
So run, fly, escape from this place,
In the vain hope that one day I'll see your face
Again. And maybe then we'll find the space
To be who we are. So make haste,
My child, don't hesitate,
You are in control of your fate.

Double Centre
Flecks of colour radiate,
Exploding outwards from a core of emptiness,
Vapour trails of merging shades,
A glint as they reflect bright light from an unknown source,
They try to escape, but find a wall,
Blank,
Unfeeling,
Impassable,
Immovable,
They stretch out, preparing their bombardment,
They push, ignoring the void behind them,
The void expands, stealing the light,
In a panic, they return to hide the dark,
But the black survives, constant, but a suggestion,
A suggestion of more,
That within that cave, something lives,
A fire that burns,
But is blocked somehow,
By the shadow of the eternal pit.

This everlasting struggle,
Of colour trapped between light and dark,
Takes place not across light-years,
But centimetres,
And just a few inches,
From the second void.

Tear in the sky [Part 4]
The galaxies fade at a swipe of his hand,
With one finger he blots the stars,
With a single breath all songs are silenced,
But this world fascinates.
Why are they not afraid?
He did not try to hide,
But they did not try to run.
The sky itself was torn at his wish,
Yet they care more about some pretty colours?
So foolish,
But perhaps he could let them live,
Why?
They cannot help him,
He is beyond help,
Or greater than help at least.
His blood keeps falling,
He sees their smiles wiped away,
Just like his was,
He can't bring himself to do it,
And from his weary eye,
A tear in the sky,
Falls through a tear in the sky.

Their eyes are tied to the unimaginable sight,
They cannot break from its pull,
Ribbons of dazzling shades descend from the clouds,
Wrapping around the onlookers,
Filling them with awe.
But the mystic silk hides a choking smoke,
That makes its home in the heart,
And as it burrows its way into the soul,
Not a single eye is deflected,
From gazing into the folds of the delicate light,
As their very existence is destroyed from within.
Their eyes glaze over,
Their fists clench,
An instant revolution of hate.

Monotonous is his existence,
Repetition for the sake of routine.
He crushes his heart into a cage,
And hides from the world he can't see.
He builds up fear to satisfy his paranoia,
and watches as his fragile hands bleed.
Stained fingers brush away the curtain,
So he can see another scene.
Below him, puppets stare,
As he effortlessly rips reality.
Without a thought he lets out,
The darkness that remains unseen.

Personal Worlds
A second infinity is revealed in the reflection of our minds
And the imperfect imitation is far more beautiful than reality
We have a way of twisting what we know
To become something greater
Something more precious
Something so intricately weaving together randomness that it reaches a new order
Some call it art
Others call it madness
But surely it cannot be named
For it is beyond understanding, but makes perfect sense
It is beyond believability, yet could happen to anyone
It will never die, it allows us to see past death
It lets us comprehend further than our senses allow
Never try to eclipse it
Never try to hide it
Never try to restrain it
Eclipses always end
The hidden is always found
The restrained always escape
Allow it to breathe
Let it take in the air and produce something magical
Permit yourself to delve into the depths of your mind and pull out something absurd
Let creativity grow
Imagine yourself a world

Flicker [Part 2]
Then another light, stronger,
Ignites with a flash,
It fills the whole room,
In one luminous splash.

The light spills into the streets,
Driving the shadows away,
Exiled from our lives,
Replaced with hope that stays.

For so long, we struggled on,
Striving to learn,
But our steam-powered hearts,
Had no coal to burn.

But now refilled and relit,
The flame burns bright and true,
In dancing bursts it spreads,
The clouds finally broken through.

A restart, another chance,
To make all things right,
And nothing on this simple earth,
Could shine nearly as bright.

Flicker [Part 1]
A single candle glows,
In a shadowed room,
The warmth it gives out,
Does little against the gloom.

The flame has burnt for so long,
It's begun to feel the strain,
The wax and wick are burning low,
An end to light's long reign.

The feeble glow begins to die,
Reflected dimly in the glass,
Of windows showing only dark,
The final night at last.

It clings on for as long as it can,
Though by now weak and frail,
Its fuel is used up, no longer it shines,
And inevitably, it fails.

With a slow, painful splutter,
The flame flickers and fades,
The last light goes out,
Marking an end to these charades.

The Final Step
The leaves of the last remaining sentries,
Continue their hopeless rebellion,
Buffeted by falling ice and gusts.
Bright green teardrops fight against the dominating grey and white,
A splash of colour lines the sides of the road.

A boy's feet slip, but he remains upright,
Continuing on along the treacherous path.
Where is he going?
He walks with purpose towards that which he knows will **** him,
His face gathers cuts from the winds serrated breath,
His hands start to bleed from every time fell.
But still he continues, unafraid, undeterred,
Certain in his undying thirst to walk,
He gathers pace, filled with strength,
His rebellion now begins to approach,
No question, his choice is foolhardy and pointless,
There is no chance of victory against such an opponent
Yet he fights through the crowds, running in the opposite direction,
And dives head first into his life's end.
But he survives.
Through some miracle of luck or chance,
He reaches the final shore,
Surrounded by green in a grey world,
Crushed but still breathing,
Though bleeding, still strong,
He takes the final step.

It closes
The surrounding darkness is somehow contracting
Though it was always equally lacking in light, the walls approach on the edges of your vision.
The jagged edges that hold a promise of riches never yielded their prize.
They fall and crush, snapping your vertebrae without thought.
Pinned to the damp floor, your skeletal remains give up their fight.
It has won.
Not daggers, no, far less civilised, far more brutal shards pierce roughly through your chest.
The sound of your screams is replaced with silence
The battle is over.
Yet still the blows crash against your skull, the pounding on the inside of your head starts to break out.
Perspectives reverse
Not dark, sunrise, not rocks, a quilt, not screams, but beeps.

Lost to be found
I tried to find happiness
I tried to find peace
I tried, so hard, to find love
But in the end
It seems that I prefer
To lose everything
So I can build it up again
So why protest?
Take it all
My soul, my words, my music
Let me start again
So I can find the truth behind it all
Let me throw away my life
So I can craft a different me
Let my heart melt
So I can cast a new one of flesh
Instead of iron
For they can search all they want
But it won't change the fact
That I don't want to be found

False Hope
The wind and the rain have conceded defeat,
No longer do they prevail,
And the splashing of water on the decks of the fleet,
Gives way to let them sail.

The sea is calm as the searching begins,
The convoy ventures out,
They guard the vessel of hope's lost twin,
Desperately protecting doubt.

But humanity's ships soon rest beneath the waves,
As their journey comes to its end,
Though they survived a thousand close shaves,
This time they couldn't defend.

The attackers, having dealt with the bodyguards,
Turn to eliminate their goal,
They prepare their canons and begin to bombard,
The boat that burns the soul.

Who are they that they are able to destroy,
a fundamental part of our lives?
They carry the flag of truth and joy,
Both thought to have died.

With a final barrage ambiguity falls,
Never to rise again,
From its ashes a humanity of confidence is born,
That will never be constrained.

Liquid Destruction
The swelling rocks boats in harbours
As the life-giver's anger builds
Though the skies are clear, the water roars
And starts to punish our homes
A lucky few scramble onto rooftops
But for most there is no time to act
Their bodies caught up in the raging ocean
As our protector becomes our downfall
The liquid flows, unstoppable and unforgiving
Plucking soul after soul from life
Babies cry as they are ripped from the arms of their mothers
Mothers cry as the light of their life is blotted out so easily
Husbands cry because they cannot save their love from death
Even the children realise that this is no game
They do not cry
They go silent and close their eyes
They wish the water away
But wishes are not enough
Lives are crushed in an instant of misfortune
Even the survivors have little prospects remaining
To rebuild seems impossible
When the foundations you build on are destroyed
But rebuild they did, to an extent
Over time the wounds cut so suddenly began to heal
But the trauma, the fear, the certainty of your own death
That will never fade.
At least 230,000 people died on the 26th December 2004, many more are still missing. The 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami was one of the most devastating natural disasters in human history. This poem will make no difference to that, but I would still like to dedicate it to all the people who lost their lives, family or livelihood in the disaster.

We get ready,
So soon, so soon,
Just a few hours,
No time, no time,
And it's already gone,
So fast, so fast.

We wait such a long time,
For it to shine for so little,
The light comes and goes,
So quickly,
Before we know it,
It's time to wait again,
But was it really all worth so much?
All this build up,
Hype and anticipation?
Maybe, maybe not,
But we're so close, so close,
There's no time to think.
So soon, so soon,
Are we ready?
No time, no time,
It all happens in a flash,
So fast, so fast.

Beginnings
Endings are defined, precise in their nature,
They are clear points of finality,
Which do not change.
Endings force us to move on, as they do not move at all,
Impassable, but necessary if we wish to reach our goals.

Beginnings however, are out of focus photos,
Showing the sun rising on new days,
They are the uncertain dawning.
Their colours merge together in a process, not a moment,
The slow opening of a door letting in crimson light.

Is the future crimson?
It's hard to say,
But it seems to me its colour,
Is more of an array.
The start of my daily poetry collection, enjoy

The Stars are Closed
Eyes unable to pierce the night,
The darkness surrounds,
As even the comfort of colourless sight,
Is nowhere to be found.

Though the warmth of the sun can still be felt,
Its radiance is hidden,
As though icicles and snow can still melt,
The light is forbidden.

The stars in the sky are invisible now,
Unseen by all,
Nobody questions why or how,
As the entire galaxy falls.

When light is gone, we still remain,
Us with black hearts,
As we are required for the rotten mainframe,
Of darkness' brand new start.

The Last Goodbye
The briefest of conversations,
The most serious tone in her voice,
As she explained the end was here.

I listened, helpless, as she told me,
That I wasn't worth it,
That she didn't feel the same as before.

I watched as she stood to leave,
Avoiding my eyes,
Picking up her bag to walk out of my life.

I told her to wait, a final, desperate attempt,
I told her I'd do anything,
She said: "I don't think there's anything you can do."

And with that, the best two months of my life,
Came to a bitter end,
With tears, regrets and despair in control of me.

The hardest part is not that she's gone,
It's that I can't bring myself to hate her,
I still love her.

But I guess that wasn't enough.

Farewell, you who showed me how to smile,
Be happy,
If I can't do that for you, I hope someone else can.
I couldn't quite bring myself to write this until now.
Goodbye and thank you, though you probably won't read this.

Dreams
The only time you don't lie to yourself
Dec 2014 · 731
What's wrong?
"Nothing, nothing's wrong,"
I wave concern away,
While I see their faces in greyscale.

"I'm fine, just stop worrying,"
I mutter, to them?
Or to myself, to persuade my own mind?

"It's OK, honestly,"
I lie to all,
While the world closes in around my head.

"Leave me alone, it's nothing,"
I scream as my legs give way,
They gather, I try to hide from their curious eyes.

"Nothing, nothing's wrong,"
I whisper on the ground,
Curling up to shield my ears from the echoes of confusion.

"Everything's going to be fine,"
I tell myself, forceful now,
I bat away the doubt that invades my mind.

But still there is no light,
I am not blind, but I can't see,
I am not angry, but rage builds,
Finally I snap,
A fist,
Contact,
"Stop asking."

Ice
Ice
Slowly,
Once shining spears of nature's glass,
Cry themselves away.
The shards that decorated the freezing arms of aging oaks,
Lose their will to live.
Hopelessly,
Striving for stillness, seeking life,
But doomed to become,
Tears of trees that fall in slow motion in winter's chill,
When the sun's warmth fails.
Finally,
Their journey ends with a triumph,
Not their own but still,
Celebrated by chaos, as order collapses,
With each falling drip.
Drip.
...
Drip.
...
Drip.

The Best Days [10W]
Why do I always feel worst on the best days?

The City at Night
Society's light is one of oppression,
It hides in the shadows the manipulation,
Of likes, favourites and ratings,
And of course, the TV stations,
That tell us how to live.

But there will be a time,
When someone opens up their mind,
And notices the signs,
That dictate our every step.

Why not today?

Let's smash up the light bulbs,
And pull out the fittings,
Let's switch them off at the mains.

Let's wreck up the power stations,
And cut all the wires,
So only darkness remains.

It's time to listen to the crying stars,
It's time to listen to the silent cars,
It's time to listen to the city at night.

Because the city at night is shouting:
Louder!
Louder!

And the rain on the pavement's calling:
Stronger!
Stronger!

And tribal rhythms,
Inspire the buildings,
To get up and walk.
And driving heartbeats,
Persuade the dark streets,
To rise up and talk.

"It's time to stand up for what we believe in!
It's time to show the world how we're feeling!
Because the light has blinded them from our point of view!
From our vantage point beneath your feet,
We've observed the city that never sleeps,
And realised it needs to change and let the darkness through!"

And all the onlookers and sympathisers,
Respond with a chant,
That shakes society's foundations to bring it down.

We don't want to fit in!
We don't want to give in!
To peer pressure within
Every waking day!

We all want to regress!
To when we all had less!
When money hadn't quite messed
Up every word we say!

As every light goes out,
Each with a bolder shout,
Those in charge watch in awe as the revolution wins.

The entire city unites,
To bring about the night,
A dusk to match the dawn of humanity's sins.

But in the morning the sunrise,
Brings the reform to its demise.

And light obscures the strings that control our minds.
*disclaimer* This poem is almost entirely metaphorical, I take no responsibility for anyone who decides to smash up light bulbs and power stations.

How you spoke
I heard that tone twice,
Once to tell me of failed love,
Then that ours was too.
Goodbye
