Let me love for the good,
Not hate for the bad.
Live for the happy,

For there is always light in the dark,

My favourite flower
MsAmendable Apr 2015
Pretty little dandelions
Don't sit in nice neat rows
They follow their hearts and their dreams
And where the wind does blow

I love my hardy dandelions
They know to persevere
Their little songs will always flow
Where gardeners can't hear

They will not drop
For silly things
Like being torn
Or poisonings

And These dear sweet flowers
Let their beauty show
In their stunning yellow smiles
And fluffy white tufts kids blow
For hours

And so my pretty dandelions
Yes, they go where others should
But they do their best as they can
And I promise they'll be good

Cold moon in Warm air
MsAmendable May 2015
The cusp of the stark moon
Hangs in stillness,
(the world fading blue),
And drifts softly
Like a baby's feather,
Gently lowered,
Then wavers,
And balances delicately
On the edge of the world
Before sinking softly
Into glassy water.

Sensation, perception
MsAmendable May 2016
As I age, the world unseen
Comes to light,
And the way I'd been
With wonder, cease
For now I know reality;

Curious, how time does fade
Naïve questions with a wave
Of insight, yes, and somthing more,
Of jadedness, we watch the score
But not the game, the point
is not the point...

Questions fade in custom-made
Tiny starbucks coffee cups;
A tired dog won't think like pups
For they have seen the world

Waterfall
MsAmendable Apr 2016
Tumbling and roaring
Froth-water came soaring,
To bash on the rocks below
Up, it rose as hazy mist
And on my  face, a dewy kiss,
A gift, to let things grow
Rainbows, bold with golden light
Upon the splash, its glowing bright
The tumbling and the roaring Might
Goes crashing down below
A river, wide above it crawls
To the edge of gushing falls
Then cascades a crystal show
And on the floor, beneath the trees
Goes gushing on towards to seas
And I will watch the water go
Will watch the water go

Hollow from the victory of war
Only those who returned were welcomed,
Despite desperate eyes searching

And reluctant ears intent
On not hearing another name on that list,

You've got to move to the rhythm and sway
Let the sound wash your troubles away
Its your turn to seize the day
So swim in the rhythm and sway

Hold your arms out to catch the beat
Lose your self in the music retreat
Spin on your new light feet;
Have the bad pounded out by the beat

Its not a song, its your soul
Feel it heal you until you're whole
It'll warm you when you're cold
Move to the music of your soul

(Re) cycling
MsAmendable Jun 1
When we as loveless humans failed,
With hate in every word exhaled
We turned and let our gods all crash,
we turned our children into ash.
.
And from out the ashes crawled
A thousand demons, wide and tall
Roiling mud and blood and stench
Tore out from groaning wound-like trench
.
And then down from the sun there flew
(not too many nor too few)
A band of angels, a golden choir
Singing songs of purging fire
.
And at the end of battle-day
In the fields of war there lay
No liars, beggars, thiefs or knaves
But a thousand crying naked babes

The heavy rain falls swift and stark,
On these hills, the wheeling lark
And sodden sparrow sing in the dark,
As the sea falls from the sky.

The wind blows strong, the trees all hiss,
The arrows strike an icy kiss
The water drowns in anguished bliss,
As the sea falls from the sky.

I pity him with no place to hide,
But wet, in frozen arms abide
A spark against this fearsome tide
As the sea falls from the sky.

Long Cartrips
MsAmendable Jul 2015
Long car trips
Crowded with junk
And cramping legs
Flashing light streaming through the window
Into the muggy car air,
A trapped fly banging on the glass,
Low rumbling like gravel thunder
And bursts of shaking
Rattling teeth and seatbelts
When you roll over stones
Wisps of vented air
Curling around your naked toes,
And sweaty, rumpled clothes.
Skin sticking to fake leather seats
The slight sifting sick in your belly
Sitting fat like a toad,
And hoping the stuff in the back
Isn't shaking or breaking apart
From the crunching washboard gravel,
And drowsy eyes, tired from endless trees
Slowly drift until you arrive in the dark

Hello, my darkness,
I found you at last.
I stifled the blinding lights,
And delight in your soft kiss,
Your velvet cloak pooling in the corners,
And the soft silk touch of the moon
Glowing silver behind your eyelids,
And your fathomless depths
Bleed like ink, and I breathe you In like smoke,
out like water from the abyss.
You surround me with your touch,
you fill me, even as we cut delicate missteps
In the sweet, swaying, firey silence
For I am as mystified with your cool secrets,
As you lay entranced with my light.

Swirling coils of thick heat
Rise like snakes, reaching
Waving angrily in the air,
Poisoning us who cling
To the parched earth,
And stretch, up, up
Into the cool, tender night,
Whose cool fingers sooth
And gentle caresses calm
The angry snakes
Until they coil back down to sleep,
And then her gentle breath
Soothes, too, our troubles
And lays us down softly sleeping
Into the comforting coils
And warm bodies
Of the snakes

Maiden in the ash
MsAmendable Apr 10
Maiden in the ashes
Robed in silk
Robbed of milk
No mark on your tender skin
No sign of turmoil within
The coal does not yet scorch your soul
...
You walk your delicate path
Bearing the sightly, brightly beaten cut bloom of spring
Luscious petals not yet knowing
They will drop from the stem
No seeds to plant, and not her fault
the only water here tainted with salt
And the ground here is hard, turned up in its roots
And the soft garden bed tamped down by boots
Do you know the path you tread does not want you?
Do you not yet feel the cut of the stone or burning of the coal to your sole?
Or does this black earth need your bloodstained steps as much as you need to bleed them
Is it possible for one woman's blood to nourish this dead soil back to life?
And one woman's love to seed them
I wish I could not pray for your success with this life
I wished far more for you than this trial of strife.
