Deep into the sweet and sleepless night I lay,

Cradling that which is not half as precious
by day
MsAmendable Apr 2015
Midnight phone calls
Whisper stolen words
#6w
MsAmendable Jul 2016
Thick white clouds
Drown rolling mountains;
Gone before the first cold fingers
Can touch the wind-whipped water
MsAmendable Mar 2016
Where day and the moonlight kiss
Fire and silver steam up with a hiss,
She came at midnight, he came at noon
The sun was on fire, and so was the moon
Daylight and shadows are always at war,
And puddle at twilight, in gold on the floor
MsAmendable Jun 2016
The stormy shore does blow
With all its wind and might
Then waves will crash
On rocks and splash
All throughout the night

***

Frothy waves tremble uneasily,
Seasick on the rolling tide
Shaken waters, choppy waves
Stormy seas on oceans wide

***

The troubled sea rolls in to shore
To bash along the rocky floor
And brushes quaint, the fishing boats
All of which no longer floats

***

The waves beneath my feet
My feet upon the pier
Day grows short, the end draws near
And dance along the rocky shore
For ever and forever more

***

Sea birds fly like kites
Soaring through the gusty winds
Sprayed by sea, they dance
In stormy revelry,
their wingéd fins of feathers
hoist them higher than the sails
Of ships, or spray of whales
MsAmendable Jan 2016
And soft, unto vivid petal struck
The tender hand of golden light,
The violent violet blue aflame
To every eyes' intense delight
Spring colour flower sun
MsAmendable Apr 2018
We dance in the ashes like
Literary scavengers.
In the ruins and after rages
We draw the shreds of words and pages
Around our naked bodies like Blankets,
A quilt of the quintessential struggle
Which all people suffer
I'm not sure if I posted this before,  but it's have been a while. I wrote this not too long after reading "the Book Theif" which was wonderful
Air
MsAmendable Jul 2015
Air
Trying to feel the thinness of air,
Running through your fingers like silk
Gently pushing around you in a soft embrace
Intangible tendrils wisping around your face
Ever present,
And forgotten
MsAmendable Mar 2016
Moonlight steams through window panes
Spilling over my books and floor
Laying herself upon my bed,
She paints in silver on my door.

Her fingers brush my dusty shelves
Her winter eyes a-glow:
And when the night air rushes in,
She fills my mouth with snow
MsAmendable Aug 2015
Who are we?
Walking around proudly
With our heads to god,
So easily bearing
Satan's hands on our ankles
To drag us down, we
Can fly until the planes crumble
Until the balloons pop
Can climb until the mountains
Cease, but we
Never realized that for all we go up
Must come down,  and
Leave us yearning for the skies again.
So lay flat on the ground
With your eyes to the stars
Give Satan your limbs
And God,  your head and heart
MsAmendable Jun 2016
Sleepily in bliss with you,
We turn and sway under the fullness
of the velvet stars for company,
Drawing warmth
from each other's embrace;
A moonlight waltz
MsAmendable May 2015
Before you break man,
You must first tell me;
What are the color of his eyes?
After watching the new avengers movie
MsAmendable Oct 2015
Rain brings life
And sun brings warmth,
Wind blows away all fears

The stars will guide
And shadows hide,
Night cloaks you from all fears.
MsAmendable Oct 2015
Today, I looked up, And saw
a tiny stain in the shape of a bird
Pressed to my ceiling.
How ironic, I thought
That such a moment of freedom
endlessly trapped,
Is still so free for the bird.
I was looking at videos of black holes and how someone on the edge of one appears to stop moving (like a pause button) to any observers, but to the person it is just a moment passing before they move on. But in that one moment, they will live forever.
MsAmendable Aug 2015
I fell from the sky
And landed on the cusp
Of a soft baby feather
MsAmendable Dec 2022
I do not dare myself compare
Against the flame within your state
My love, you fill each breath of air
So that each word may expell hate

You soar so high, you bring me low
To roots, to nourished earth - I grow
For you, my sun
You tend to life, and love and play-
You ease my nights and brighten my day
MsAmendable May 2016
I felt the first kiss
Of a pain so familiar,
I welcome the loss
Before it begins;
The knife in place
I mourn my pace
Too soon, I cry,
Too soon.
MsAmendable Apr 2015
A poem isn't like somthing,
It is.
A poem is everything
Or nothing at all.
A poem does not need to rhyme,
Just because.
A poem can be anything
   -a fear or a dream
But a poem by an artist
Is a work of art.
MsAmendable Oct 2015
I cannot touch my invisible visions,

But God,
How I try.
MsAmendable Jun 2015
The night whispers
Things the stars told them
Lines of truth to sound like ink
And stolen murmers, he didn't think
That, for all their wisdom, stars
Have wild mischief in their hearts
And oh, the things they make you dream
But still, all things I'm glad I've seen
But night soon grows too weary and old
And the stars fade in shining gold
Before night can tell me what he's told
From the stars who live so silver-bright
And so good morning, and goodnight
MsAmendable Nov 2015
Breath froths thick from my lips
Like cotton,
Drawn out into the thin autumn air
Forming gusty halos,
Wreaths of white,
Cheeks and nose pinken
From the crystal kisses
Placed gently like angel wings
Tingling with magic
In frosty air
MsAmendable Oct 2015
Crisp, dark lines
Of autumn trees fill the sky,
Even as the firey leaves drop from it
In the wintery air
MsAmendable Oct 2021
The thin skeleton trees
in midnight blue dresses
Sway in the sparkling streets,
And reach their arms to the sky
Some still boast a firey red,
And blow Ruby kisses from high
MsAmendable Jan 2023
In the bath,
The every rise and fall of your breath becomes the tide
Your heartbeat echoes through mutable water,
Engulfing me in womblike embrace
Small waves lap at my skin and resonate through my flesh
lapping at the shore-
I am water too

I feel your rhythms course and overlap with mine like music
And if I were to bathe in the ocean,
I'd be no less
Only fulfilled with ever more
MsAmendable Oct 2015
Do I dare disturb the universe;
With dreams so much more
Than dreams?
The first line is from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
MsAmendable Oct 2021
Before the world came darkness
And at its end was peace,
But chaos calmly churned between,
A violent masterpiece
MsAmendable Oct 2015
The past unfurls
With silver memories
Like messy cloth,
Tarnished or frayed;
Each life woven with yours
And so many paths crossing
Twining over and under
A stitch dropped, or added
Shadowed or shining
And all being woven
With the thread you are spinning,
Spinning,

Spun
MsAmendable Apr 2015
Sleepy sun rays
Sink into my bones
Waking my soul
I hope that this stays
The first warm warm day
Forever and always
With me
MsAmendable Oct 2015
The exquisite blend
Of paint
Melting off the palate
MsAmendable Dec 2022
The night sky moans your name-
She echoes across the mountains
Her tongue on the snow
Her teeth in my bones
MsAmendable Jul 2015
Cars march dutifully like ants
On strings of suspended steel
Purposeful like tight rope walkers
And travel in white boxes
in the morning
MsAmendable Sep 2015
Leather and whisky smoke
Whisping around yesterday's memories
Curling around your face in a haze
And you
Setting the world ablaze
Leather and whisky, smoke
And ashes shifting
That's you
Wow this wasn't supposed to turn out so bitter
MsAmendable Aug 2015
Wooden love,
Forgotten like old bones
And memories

XxXx

Lies settle uneasily on her skin
Like thick perfume choking
All who are near

XxXx

Wisps of dust
Curl into the rising air
Like invisible smoke

XxXx

Exquisite telling
Of the corpse;
Sparkling wine and cold fingers

XxXx

Do not touch
the shameless broken glass
That lie like crushed diamonds

XxXx

Two buses
Full of empty people
Pass blindly

XxXx

Rising towers of ice
A complex of cages,
And we call it beautiful

XxXx

This is the way the world ends
(World ends, world ends)
Not with a bang but a whisper

XxXx

Because we are the hollow men
And there is never rest
For a lost boy
MsAmendable Jun 2015
Standing in light
Cast by day
Tiptoe through shadows
Which connect anyway.
The sun is so bright
It corrodes away;
And I'm healed by night,
Cool layers of gray
Also not a vampire. Not sure if writing while tired makes my poems loopy... Will have to check in the morning
MsAmendable Jul 2015
Tin can busses fill rapidly,
Stop.
And bleed like tuna.
This cane to me on a bus where people were all elbow deep in someone else.... Pretty weird but why not write it down?
MsAmendable Sep 2015
Her face
Her face is lit
By the candle she holds beneath it
Because she is afraid of the dark
But as the candle burns down
So does she,
But she is afraid of the dark
MsAmendable Feb 2016
The sun falls swift as an overripe cherry,
Lighter than air, it still laughs like a fairy
Warm and wet and juicy and red
Along the horizon it slowly spreads.
Tossing up splatter to stick to the clouds
Filling the sky, its sweetness astounds

Then washed away by crisp starry rain
Silvery ice that soaks through your veins.
And each sweet day, and every night
The lights fly away, and out of sight,
But surely my dear, to beautiful eyes
Sunset sweet always brings sunrise
MsAmendable Jun 2015
It is cold tonight,
But that's alright.
Leftover winter air
Rushes through my open window ,
And coils of my heat
Languidly rise to the stars
Obscured by city air, true;
But still sitting undisturbed
Far, far away from this night.
This night that takes my warmth.
MsAmendable Jun 2015
I am
Sitting in the sun
Eating store-bought chocolate pudding
Next to one who calls me a friend,
I cannot say the same.
The sun is warmer,
The pudding sweeter...
And the company is almost excruciating.
But,
Eating indoor pudding
Is nothing but bland.
And for all that she ******* about everything incessantly,
She is still warmer than the abandoned hall.
MsAmendable Sep 2016
I see the skies within your eyes
And oceans in the underneath
Do you ever get the feeling
Like summertime stuck in your teeth?
The stars they shine, like candlelight
Holding vigil through the night
I hear the wind, like whispers fade
A story for another day
Oh,
the cities fall down...With fire
And forgotten enemies, oh
They burnt... with desire
A city built on locks and keys..
A scrap of song I put together..
MsAmendable Jun 2015
Winter leaves
Settle uneasily on cold sidewalks
Stirred into frenzy
By the sweeping feet
And wind that seldom taunts
With the promise of spring
Remember spring?
It sounded like golden bells,
And smelled like honey.
MsAmendable Feb 2023
In the future
When I hold love around me like a cocoon
And it unbecomes my being -
I hope I remember you
Even as my wings unfurl from under my skin,
As I take my first breaths
And fly
MsAmendable Nov 2015
The bitter rain came flying
Dropping like icy marbles,
Freezing my bones, the wind
Stung my knuckles with lightning,
Shards of glass scraping past
my tender face, torn pink
Like blood mixed with snow
And ice, this bitter day
MsAmendable May 2015
The cusp of the stark moon
Hangs in stillness,
(the world fading blue),
And drifts softly
Like a baby's feather,
Gently lowered,
Then wavers,
And balances delicately
On the edge of the world
Before sinking softly
Into glassy water.
MsAmendable Apr 2022
Night falls into my embrace
My bed softens the fall to sleep
Moonlight washes across my face
And lessens the darkness of the deep
MsAmendable Dec 2015
I've learned to doubt purple,
When fat white flakes cascade,
In ice blue eyes and winter skies
In a December rain parade

I savour the red,
Umbrellas and scarves unshed,
The blood doesn't pour, but the fireplace roars
Soft and alone in my bed

I swim in the grey,
Soft skies like seeing seas sway,
Puddles on tar,  frost on the cars,
Fat drops, like the birds, fly away
MsAmendable Apr 2016
Die with me.
Shed your tears on mine,
Seek comfort in my darkness, fine
Let me take you
Make you and shape you, never wake you
Come lie with me
In my bed of hands to lift you to starry Skies
Please, realize that my eyes
Are for you, and you are mine
My self, my divine
Dry your tears on me, you see?
You'll be my life and I'll be your home,
Come die with me..
Please, don't let me go alone
MsAmendable Nov 2015
And as they marched home,
Hollow from the victory of war
Only those who returned were welcomed,
Despite desperate eyes searching
For one more face
And reluctant ears intent
On not hearing another name on that list,
That long, long list.
MsAmendable Apr 2022
The darkness has always been that gentle softness to embrace and soothe my worn heart, oft burned from ravages of daylight

Soothing and sweet, you hold more than any eye could comprehend

But possibly, the depths to which
My heart will extend
MsAmendable Nov 2021
We are made of starlight and shadows,
Shining despite our darkness,
Laughing against the night
