Peculiar
Lyn-Purcell Sep 2017
What am I?
A mere butterfly in the summer fly of your
beauty?

Why am I
here,
coloured by the summer sky of your
grace?
Here I am to face
the nurture and the chase
of a diamond dragon's pace.
The searcher and my crystal
percher.

Where am I?
I'm gliding by the land to overhead.
By the starry riverbed, and time goes ahead,
as I taste the words
I never said...
I see flower heads of lover's lies
that suffer by the frontal eye
of azure skies, who's flustered by
the boats ahead.

Who rode ahead the ocean bed
of love and lust.

My flesh is a myriad of coloured dyes.
And when I wonder
why,
I am discovered by...
What?
Truth.
And pain.

I must be going insane...
I just let the words flow. No image or concept in mind... Today has been a strange day as it is.

The world we live
in doesn't like
nice.
We live in a cruel world. I've noticed that people will walk all over you if you're nice. But the moment you strengthen yourself, they'll be begging you to go back to being nice again. We truly are living contradictions.

Nocturne
Lyn-Purcell Sep 2017
The moon gives us light but no heat.
The moon hears our secrets but doesn't tell.
The moon gives us comfort but at a distance.
The moon loves us all but it's only dark.
There's a waning quarter moon outside... It's so beautiful

Fountain
Lyn-Purcell Sep 2017
Imagine.
Your gift, your craft, your love,
seeping.
Your fingers become a sanguine
fountain, bubbling and oozing down the drain.
Like your dreams.
Like your craft
The shadows of fear and anxiety wrap around you.
Your paranoia hazing your vision.
Your thoughts becoming drums in your mind
and you feel numb.
Empty.
And you fall on the floor,
your gift in your hand
your fingers are extant
but they feel like nothing but phantoms.
It is then that you know the value of life.
The unpredictability is
the
Grim Reaper...

Unpredictability was nearly the
death of this author.
I know I've been away from this page. I apologise. A lot of things have transpired...but I'm back with a bang! This is based on an incident that happened to me recently. I cut my finger to the bone and man, I didn't think one could bleed so much from it. I lost so much blood that I nearly passed out and this cut rendered my writing hand useless...for a time. I was so scared. I don't know what I'd didn't have it anymore...
Please, be grateful for what you can do. Life's unpredictability can be terrifying but be grateful. I am able to write again after a few weeks of being not feeling my hand. I always remember that there is someone out there in a worse position than I am. I still have my hands, I still have my fingers. Someone out there would **** to be in the same position as me.
I'll always remember...

A Song of Wind and Dust
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2017
Your song ends but your melody plays.
Your body crumbles but the feelings stays.
Minutes, hours, days, you were at my side.
You will never be forgotten in my lifetime.
Can you return to me? As a shadow, or a dream?
Because life without you is so much harder than it seems...
So much tears I've shed, my heart cannot bear.
Your touch is still upon me as they become stairs.
If I could go to Heaven, and ask for one thing,
I'd ask for you again and the blessings you bring.
I didn't shower you enough with affection and praise
Just know that
you will forever be my always...
A poem I write from my journey to the park, with fresh tears in my eyes at seeing people with their loved ones. We all hurt someone we love...
It's apart of being human.
You only live once.
Treasure all those you hold dear.
From your blood family, to the family YOU get to choose.

Practice your craft as if your life depends on it.
Persist to overcome all that comes your way.
Passion will be your fuel. Don't let the flame die from life's water.

Keep your eye on the ball. Always.

Walk
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2017
As life passes,
and time goes on,
There comes a period
where we sit and reflect on
how our journeys have
been.
Memories, happy and
sad.
Old and new come back in mind
like the dance of a butterfly,
shimmering.
We all make mistakes, yes.
But still,
We all should go through life
without the worry or need
of regrets.
Believing that all we did, do, and will do is right.
We all dig up the past, to try and understand it.
We also put bricks and cement in place for our futures...

you can be killed as you
fall
or
as you
land.

It's Ok
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2017
It's ok to be conscious of your vulnerabilities.
In fact, it makes you stronger.
It's ok to be conscious of how flawed you are.
In fact, it makes you all the more beautiful.
It's ok to make mistakes. How else will you learn?
In fact, it makes you wiser.
It's ok to even hate. At some point, we all do.
Just don't let it poison your ability to love.
It's ok to be sad. We all are at some point.
Just don't forget to count your blessings
and laugh hard.

Damage
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2017
I can't tell which
hurts more.
Disappointment or pain?
I know the daunting feeling of the
unknown can be a strain.
We only ever want to live
doing the things that are good
for our souls
Our dreams will never work
unless we do with
blood and
sweat and
Tears.
No denying that
it's so hard.
Both disappointment and
pain are
diseases
But the most corrosive
to the mind is
doubt

Lyn-Purcell Aug 2017

and
to love.
We created products in this world

and our creations are loved

Lost in the Grey
Lyn-Purcell Aug 2017
There's something so magnetic about the colour grey.
  It's neither dark nor light.
Not evil or good.
It's a calm colour of silence.
And it's comforting too.
It's easy for me to float in gray clouds.
Lay in grey sheets.
Even talk to the stone graves.
Despite the ugliness in the world, there are still splashes of love and wonder around.
But as the sands run by, I feel weaker and I just want to stay put
in silence.
The brilliance of white permeates through every corner though the world itself is stripped of it day by day.
The shadows of blackness wrap around us from time to time. It can be easy to succumb and surrender.
I'm so tired, so drained.
I just want to sleep and stay lost in the grey...
I'm trying so hard to stay awake but I'm physically mentally and emotionally drained to the point where I want to sleep it away for eternity

Wealth is Water
Lyn-Purcell Jul 2017
People spend money like water.
Especially the wealthy. As water flows downstream,
more comes in.
But for the poor, they live in a constant drought.
The sun is harsh for them so they labor hard to get by.
Until more gates open for the wealthy, they will
never know the value of a single drop...
Be grateful for what you have. Starting my life now, and my eyes are hit with the harshness of life. Its actually...quite terrifying
