Creature of Delight
Branden Youngs Jun 2019
What she once wore
now lays forgotten on the floor.
Behind lock doors
we can let our lust pour.

Creature of delight
comes alive at night.

Make them scream and moan
but never call one of them home.

Nostalgia
Branden Youngs Jan 2019
Increase our heart rate
for old times sake
Teeth in your neck.
Nostalgia through your veins.
Limited hours of dark remain.

**** off our clarity with champagne
before sunrise scares the lust away.

I wanted to control the things I couldn’t avoid.
Growing up, disappointment,
and how my heart gets destroyed.
Pieces shattered in my hands as I tried to hold
moments of my life
created uncontrolled.

Curating a mind grown with unchecked panic.
Thoughts clashing around like violent storms from the Atlantic.
Wishing my words came out less frantic
and more romantic.

Love or Vodka
Branden Youngs Dec 2018
Spun dizzy till she fell

Love or *****?

Fumbling for words to tell
What brings you to say my name
 after the sun sets?

Love or *****?

Burning down your neck

Chased with a cigarette.

Sober or drunk

My name brings cold sweat.

Good luck

You’ll never forget

Stardust
Branden Youngs Aug 2018
Before time existed
There was just you and I.
We were a star that loved too much
We collapsed and created an entire universe.

Between beauty and pain
lies a reality created
from our stardust.

Pacific Northwest Coastline
Branden Youngs Jul 2018
Drunk with my name dripping from your mouth.
Fingers curling as gently push me further south.
Your secret is mine
Safe between my mouth and your waistline.
Carving down your spine
Clashing like the northwest coastline.
Dissolving pieces of you into my shore.
This night is my chance to infect your core.

Killing me softly
Branden Youngs Mar 2018
You always made it known
protested with a ***** and moan
about how my lips curled around cigarettes
when you aren’t home.

Testifying in a patronizing tone
that someday I’d end up alone
if the habit wasn’t thrown.

You just envied
the way they were slowly ******* my life
wishing you still had that power.

You need me like a flower needs snow.
Love you cold.
Suffocate your eternal glow.
Strip down naked.
Leaving a heart that’s vacant.

You can only grow
When I melt away.
I control
when your colors display.

Voices from the past.
Branden Youngs Nov 2017
The wind carries voices from the past.
Words of ex-lovers thinking they were my last.
Foolish -
To ever think you could put beauty on display.
There is no containing the wilderness we crave.

People’s hearts only rot in a cage.

A recipe for the insane
Branden Youngs Nov 2017
Karma has its knife to my throat.
With a past full of anchors
It's impossible to stay afloat.
Childhood full of cannonballs

Vengeance through my veins.

My DNA
Branden Youngs Oct 2017
My mother told me to never trust a sweet talker
so that’s what I became.
Cupid and his demons created their evil
through my father’s DNA.

I was built to design happiness
then exploit its flaws.
Never trust a sweet talker,
it’s in our blood to ravage all.

Mental Illness?
Branden Youngs Oct 2017
It’s my soul that bleeds sickness.
Spilling a new breed of darkness.
My heart has been infected

This tongue drips poison undetected.
Passing along this disease to other hearts neglected.

Knight in Shining Armor
Branden Youngs Sep 2017
I am what you threw your coins in the fountain for.
A knight in shining armor,
ready to free this prisoner of war.
Someone to love gently and bring your soul some peace.
A lover who will mend your broken bits into a masterpiece.
Once you’re complete, I will leave and be on my way.
Taking my masterpiece with me, so I can add it to my display.

Yes, I am what you wasted your wishes on
Once I finish decorating my pawn
I’ll be gone.

The Edge of the World
Branden Youngs Sep 2017
There I was
alone
sitting on the edge of the world.
My feet hanging off
Wondering if I should just give myself a hurl.
Inching my way closer, I felt the grasp of a girl.

How did you find me on the edge of the world?

She too came to leap from reality.
Misery was worn so elegantly
From that day
she started to love me delicately.

Together, we sit on the edge of the world.
Holding hands, so we never go alone.

Here's a poem you can call your own.
Let it wrap itself around your neck till you turn cold.
A toast to the paragraphs of your emotional distress.
These words will stitch your insecurities into a seductive dress.

Here’s a poem you can call your own.
A haunting of memories for when you’re alone.
A guide
for the ghosts who don’t have a home.
Lost and lonely
wishing they had a tombstone.

And taste like every shooting star I ever made a wish upon
Branden Youngs Sep 2017
This flower has finally learned how to bloom.

It’s been buried below
forgotten by the world who created its tomb.

Life was a ghost town
When this flower needed help to sprout from the ground.

Now that’s it time to radiate
all the bees are starting to gravitate.

Come back another day bee to collect this honey.

Right now it's not my time to love.

Branden Youngs Aug 2017
There's a depth in you that has yet been discovered.
Abyssal and buried
it terrifies your lovers.

carved in your heart from years of pain frozen into ice.
Bottomless cracks in your chest
where no one can touch you
have become paradise.

Branden Youngs Jul 2017
Finding the balance between love and wild.
She will split you in two.
Searching for love in the back of her van.
Rapid
Heavy.
She's gone before it even began.

Drinking hearts of unsuspecting lovers.
Quenching her thirst of lust and moving to another.
Leaving her sacrifices drained and chasing shooting stars.
She's gone in the blink of an eye.
Leaving behind a trail of hope burning in fire.

My Great Wall
Branden Youngs Jul 2017
I was so busy building a wall to keep everyone out
that I didn’t realize I was locking myself in.
Now I’m completely trapped within myself
and the civil war for my soul begins.

I’m left alone to tear down a wall that was built to keep hundreds out.
My monsters are winning this war and I will soon perish in my doubt.

A vulture is the only thing I can see
mocking me from the boundaries of my wall.
Soon it will be his time to dine
as I think I’ll leave my body by nightfall.
Branden Youngs Jul 2017
The dress was nothing short of beautiful that she wore
but all I could think of was how exceptional it would look on my floor.
Her accessories sparkled and matched the twinkle in her glare
but my hand pulling her hair would be the ultimate flair.

Darling, this lust is as deep as the ocean.
Tonight, these waves of mine are coming to drown you.
Branden Youngs Jun 2017
I don't need any more new friends.
They just help keep my monsters fed.

I don't need any more new friends.
The females lay forgotten in my bed.

I don't need any more new friends.
I am exhausted from digging their graves.

Let it be known that in the end
The demons were always my favored friends.

Monsters
Branden Youngs Jun 2017
I tried everything to silence the monsters that are in control.
Unspeakable methods
just to save my soul.

Attempted drowning them with every bottle I could find.
Till the alcohol completely flooded my mind.
I passed countless ladies through my bed.
Praying their moans would quiet the voices in my head.
Late nights spent numb and floating endlessly from the narcotics.
Out of reach from the monsters before I turned psychotic.

My intentions were honorable
but my design ******* unforgivable.

Endless hours trying to put my monsters in a grave.
I became the devil and now these demons are my slaves.

The Power of Words
Branden Youngs Jun 2017
Sticks and bones may break your bones
but words…
Words will chew you up, spit you out, and leave you on the bottom of the ocean’s floor.

Then they will breathe a tiny bit of hope into your lungs and drag you back to shore.
As your left gasping for air,
those words will have you begging for more.

Never underestimate the power of words.
Chaos has plagued the world started from prayers that go unheard.

Branden Youngs Jun 2017
I’m not afraid of evil
that makes the demons thrive.

I’m not afraid of plagues
and diseases that will deprive.

I’m not afraid of death
or what happens when we leave behind our skin.

I’m afraid of people
because we created every sin.

I don’t have trust issues,
I’m just not foolish enough to ever let anyone in.

Saints into Sinners
Branden Youngs Jun 2017
I am not a novelist writer, I could never fill chapters of our affairs.
The only way I know how to love is intimately and destructively unaware.

This tongue was created to turn saints into sinners.
Nothing excites me like bringing out the demons within her.

Just like the seasons love to trick her every year,
when she finally begins to feel comfortable,

I disappear.

I’ve been whispering a thousand breathless lines to a lover that I will never taste.
Every day I’m reminded why spending time on people is such a waste.

Whenever morning comes, I’ll quietly leave you sleeping with my ghost inside your head.

This monster within knows the secret to making victims give in.
Like a werewolf during a full moon, I turn into such a fiend.
The only way to stop me is to bury me six feet under in quarantine.

Love comes in endless flavors and I’m addicted to tasting them all.
Branden Youngs May 2017
Nothing good happens after 4 am.
This was the time when my negligent lust began.
The hour of which my angels are locked up by my demons;
time to release Dracula’s descendant to begin hunting season.

Ready,
to slowly empty my next victim of their feelings.

Swallow these words in between your moans.
Let them send chills down your spine
as you brave intimate relations with a vampire’s blood line.

Without this hour, my favorite part of me would not exist
Making monsters out of the ones I once loved with a deathly kiss.

The ones who taught me its all in the eyes where passion flees.
Wondering nomads,
connected by soul’s craving to be free.
Communication created with the touching of lips.

Politely, yet demanding, that I kiss between her thighs.

Next thing I know, my tongue is writing our sins on her chest.

I could feel her demons hiding away in her smile beneath.

My favorite kind of ecstasy was locked away in her kiss,

Sunsets Vs. Storms
Branden Youngs Apr 2017
We were both selfishly beautiful in our own way.
Wanting to steal the heavens no matter who we betray.

The nights we would meet always went down in vain.

Some evenings she would paint the skies with her decorated lies
but I would strike with lightning and drown it out in rain.

Then other times, when she’s closing the curtains to people’s days
by letting the colors of her eyes vibrantly display

I will come kiss her in the sky
and we become the gods that paint the atmosphere alive.

Beautiful is broken.
Branden Youngs Apr 2017
The most beautiful are the broken humans,
because we learned how to bloom when our lives were completely in ruins.
We still became stars when the sun burned out and every demon in our head filled us with doubt.
Instead of praying, hoping someday the pain would go away,
we created a light and never gave up the fight.
This one is for people who went to sleep contemplating if they want to see tomorrow.
We are the most beautiful because we learned to blossom in the
eternal darkness called sorrow.

From this day forward, when you're feeling at your worst, I will lie to make it seem better
I promise I will be the one to sign your resignation from the world letter.
This sickness inside my soul will continue to deteriorate your health.
The days I bring you to your knees is how I'll count my wealth.

Till death do us apart,
I swear to poison your heart.

I’m the grim reaper that will become your keeper and when I leave, you’ll be begging to meet your maker.

First, I will fill your head with lifeless words so it paralyzes your brain.
Every second I'm not around is a second you’ll be less sane.

Then I these words will poison your heart, so there is no chance it will stray away.
Parts of who you used to be will now start to decay.

Finally, I will finish the job by stealing your soul.

Embrace the chaos
Branden Youngs Jan 2017
There is going to be a period in your young adult years that will haunt you for the rest of your days. During this time, you will learn that every caterpillar won't some day fly away. You will experience how cold the world really is and what courage it takes to keep your heart warm. Despite everything you were told growing up, love is not remotely close to a perfect art form. You will realize that your years are sometimes spent trying to survive instead of living and that there are way too many people on this Earth to do the Devil’s bidding.

Sometimes in life, your worst demons are your next of kin and it will take longer than anyone likes to admit to love their own skin.

But,
there is something beautiful that happens you finally learn how to be alone.
Pieces that people stole from you will now begin to organically grow.

Embrace the chaos.
