Candy coated tongue filled with sweet, rotting lies.
Ireland Green eyes with cavernous secrets deep inside.
Frosty demeanor, misty mountain moods, and perfectly sculpted arms.

How could a girl resist?
How could she ever forget?

At 1 am, he tasted like cigarettes and was over 6'3 in all black.
I didn't know his name & I didn't care.

At 2 am, he gave me ****** beer and held my waist and taught me how to kiss.
His eyes held secrets, I'm sure, I didn't want to know. And his smile said I'll -****-you-up in a **** kinda way.

At 3 am, he was ready for more and I craved another touch, another kiss from this bad boy at the bar.
Drunk off who knew what and this overwhelming urge of lust.

At 4 am, i had bruises on my arms and lipstick across my face left in a ***** bathroom with no shirt.
He tasted like cigarettes and I wanted to puke.

You can find me skipping through the streets of Paris. I'll be the girl with the long brown hair in a black summer dress. I'll have sunglasses on and as I make my way around this foreign town I'll wonder why I ever need to go home.

You can find me arm wrestling in Germany. I'll be the girl in the shorts and the lips t shirt surrounded by angry, sweaty German men who just want to take a chance on beating me. And as I laugh my way through the match I'll wonder why I ever need to go home.

You can find me in Italy drinking wine and dancing under the moon along the cobblestone alleyways.  I'll be hand in hand with some beautiful Italian man as we kiss just because we are young and free. And as I kiss my way across the canals I'll wonder why I ever need to come home.

And if by chance I make it home to America, where the lights aren't nearly as bright and the memories aren't nearly as fun. You'll find me in a boring office working as I dream of my foreign adventures again.

These downers have me laying in bed watching light flares float across my room like the ghosts of my past float across my eyelids.
And I’m convinced these drugs aren’t going to get you out of my head anymore.

The rooms too hot and I’m too cold and I’m crawling towards the kitchen begging for someone to get me some ****** water but then I remember....
it’s just me as usual.

I get up and take control of the situation and find some uppers in the hall and ask myself if maybe we can work through this or maybe I’m just high enough to think you’re still around.

I’m drowning in a bathtub full of rose petals I found under the sink and I’m staring at the water drip down the shower walls as I watch my inevitable breakdown drip down my eyelids.

I guess I’m convinced these drugs just made things worse and I’m convinced I gotta get my **** together... I gotta get myself together.

I hope you slip quietly asleep when I'm caressing your black hair.... I love to watch you sleep.
Drinking from dusk to dawn we stumbled into your room kissing like two perfect strangers ready to rendezvous...
You are my heart.
Winter came to fast for comfort we had barely enough time to make it through the summer alive.
You said sleep was for the weak! So we stayed up holding each other all night... And it was perfect.
You are my soul.
Morning came without a sound and I had fallen asleep in your embrace... Awoken by your arms falling from mine I saw nothing but innocence in your sleeping face.
You are my love.
You are my one and only.

I said do you remember the way out hands touched on the bus as we sat down in separate seats?
- you said no.

I said do you remember the first time you told me I was beautiful under the rainy skies?
-you said no.

I said do you remember when I told you I loved you and you smiled as you out your arm around my waist?
-you said no.

I said do you remember the day you decided you didn't love me anymore?
- you said yes... And walked out the door.

Drowning was never an option for me so I took the long way and swam back to shore.

I could have asked for help but when you're higher than a kite what's the point? The air rushing through your hair is pure and utter ecstasy.

Every touch, every sound, every single color... Magic couldn't begin to describe how I felt.

They say it only takes one time but it took a couple times and a couple different drugs but I think I've got it now.

I kept falling faster and deeper down this rabbit hole with little to no escape and the whole world was tipsy turvy by the time I figured out I needed help.

I lost that weight finally, I also lost some friends and family along the way... But I gained a best friend, or so I thought, one who would never let me down ( literally).

I couldn't be sure if the high was enough but it felt right at the time... Everything felt so... Good...

And the time came when I realized I had to stop feeling good and get back to reality... Who knew it would feel this bad?

I dug my grave and as far as I was concerned I had laid my head down deep beneath the earth ready to lay in the bed I made...but then you came around.

You got me back up.
Told me pretty things that made me feel Better than these drugs... Which was almost (easy enough?) hard to believe.

And drowning was never an option... So I swam back to shore leaving the high to fall slowly back to earth.
I have never done drugs but just went to see a play about Crank the book and thought I would try something new! :)

You remember when we planned out imaginary weddings? We picked out the dress and the location.
We were so dumb.

You remember when we walked the river in middle of the night?
It was freezing and nearly winter and we put our feet in anyway.
We were so dumb.

You remember when we ate cold Mac n cheese in your parents living room drinking till we couldn't think?
We laughed till we cried.., then we couldn't stop crying over each other.
We were so dumb.

You remember the 4 times we have tried, the endless, sleeveless nights?
The morning of regrets and the nights of pain? The day you left and moved away? The day I fell head over heels? The day you fell out of love...
We are so dumb.
I am so dumb.

It's roughly 1 am and I am staring at the ceiling fan wondering if i leave it on long enough if it'll fall off the ceiling-
I can't get your body out of my head the way your arms flex around me when you hug me or the way you push those hips on top of me... maybe I just need to get off already--

It's almost 2 am and I am pacing my room smoking with the windows open and it's freezing outside-
I hope she treats you as good as I wish I could have but I'm just a messed up kid with no self respect-

I'ts 3 am and I don't think I am going to sleep anytime soon as I put on another *** of coffee and think about my life --
I wonder if you're pressing those hips against hers... I bet she's really good in bed-
I wonder if when you kiss her you think about me kissing you... or maybe you think about me kissing her?

It's 4 am... why the **** I am still awake I have no idea but I can't get you out of my head--
I text you to see if you're awake because I am really good at bad decisions lately--

It's 5 am and you respond with little enthusiasm especially since I am your ex girlfriend-
You tell me " It's over, go to bed."--

I was never very good at following the rules I guess.

There is something about eating Thai food alone. I don't know if it's the music in this tiny place or maybe how friendly everyone pretends to be while they judge you from afar.

And I'm not sure these days if I'm lonely or just tired of being alone? Love is just a far away option I'm not sure will ever be more than past tense.

This piano is giving me a headache... Who am i kidding I have no idea if it's a piano! I just wish I wasn't eating alone.

Red lace covers white skin.
Perfume and candles; ******.
Kissing leads to touching, touching to begging.
Tell me your ready as you breathe down my neck.
Tell me you're hungry for more as my lips move down your stomach.

Lace off and memories fade as we fall into a lustful splendor.
Rough hands on soft skin; touch me one more time.
Tongues meet as we kiss deeply wanting to take all we can from each other.

Tell me you're ready as your legs entwine with mine.
Tell me you're hungry for more as we move together as one screaming ecstasy.

Skin on skin, rough to slow.
Heavy breathing, heavy touching.
It feels so real sinking into you...so real.
Brianna Feb 2014
You told me you liked to ask me out on holidays because then you would never forget the anniversary. I always felt that was sort of cruel and odd but you looked towards a future of happiness and I saw a break up.

Timing was never out strong suite and I am not quite sure how we got to this point in our lives eight years down the road. I still think about you every single night before bed.

It's windy today and stormy. It's not funny and yet I laugh because the last time I saw you it was raining... And you took me to the airport to say goodbye.

You asked me to stay but I had a plane to catch.
You asked me to marry you but I had a life to get.
You asked me to love you but I had to love me first.

I asked you to come home but you had a reason to stay.
I asked you to marry me but you changed your mind.
I asked you to love me... But you ignored all my love.

Eight years later and we are just as dysfunctional as we used to be back in those high school days. Eight years later and we still can't figure out if we are meant to be together.

Eight years later and I still think about you every day.

The prettiest sunset I had ever seen was  during the largest fire we had had in a long time.
It was smoke covered reds and pinks and yellows.
It was hazy blues and darkening grays.
It was as if the sky was screaming for help while it was also fading away hoping sleep would clear the bad dreams.

And all the while I watched the sun set and the colors fade to night and I knew...
that even the worst of days can fade into something peaceful for even just one moment.

And I knew... that my bad day would burn out like the fire one day...

These poems seem so happy but the truth is I'm just a...
Self conscience
Hateful
Sad twenty two year old girl.
I keep these emotions bottled up inside till they just come out with tears and sentences that make no sense at all.
It feels like it should be snowing and my car is threatening to break down and yet I just ...
Keep spending money
Crying for help
Never listening to anyone.
Hope has never been my strong point but right now I could use a little faith. A little faith in something besides this emptiness I feel.
So don't get me wrong with these poems of happiness and of love because I am...
Not in love.
All alone.
Pathetically trying to get on with life...
Brianna Sep 2015
I've been falling asleep in the back of the bar lately & I am not sure which way is up and which way is down.
"He" leads me down the stairs to the parking lot and rips my dress off me like its ***** laundry... But who he is... I don't even know.

It's been long enough for me to move on and get over you but there's something in the way the light shines against my hands that makes my heart ache.

You aged like wine and I aged like moldy cheese but we never found the perfect combination to keep us together.

I've been falling asleep in bars... And the bartender told me I can't come back anymore.
"He" took me home... But where that is.... I don't even know.

I don't think we were meant to end quite yet but you took two steps back with each one of my steps forward. I leapt before I could even crawl let alone walk.

You are still perfectly unhappy and I'm still researching the meaning of life... And even though part of me doesn't want you back... The other part of me still wants one last kiss.

I've been falling asleep in bars since i returned back west & I don't know if I'm just exhausted or miserable these days... But man... I hate beer.

I fell in love with a siren with a serpent tongue.
She was beautiful and friendly and glowing like the ocean herself.
She was rain on the window on a cool Autumn day.
She was your favorite cup of coffee in the Winter.

In her eyes held wonders of the world.
The colors felt brighter.
The trees smelled richer.
The memories felt softer.
She was the master of Chaos.

Her siren song was so melodic.
So haunting that when she grabbed my hand and lured me down to the depths of the sea--
I didn't even feel fear.
I felt remorse for the loved ones I was choosing the leave behind.
I felt love for the ocean and for nature that was choosing me.

It wasn't until right before she opened her mouth and showed me the sharpest set of teeth I had ever seen--
Did I realize she was actually the devil in disguise.

I like the idea... Of falling in love strangers who don't know me.

Who don't know what I've been trough or my favorite book. Who don't know how I like my coffee or what my favorite food is.

I like the idea...of being someone to somebody new.

I don't want you to know my ***** secrets yet, or my lack of showering every day. I don't want you to know I hate not blow drying my hair after a shower or how I hate walking around naked.

I like the idea... Of new beginning With new people.

I want you to get to know me for me. I want you to ask my favorite color or why I prefer white chocolate instead of dark. I want you to ask me why I take too many pictures or cry for no reason sometimes.

I like the idea of falling in love with someone who doesn't know me at all.
Brianna May 2018
She was fascinating.
Not because she was drop dead gorgeous or oh my god beautiful.

No, she had humor she used as a weapon.
No, she had love she used a shield.
No, she had strength hidden behind layers of wisdom.

She was fascinating.
In the way that made men cringe and made women envious.
She was the type of girl you wanted to get to know if only to keep her close by.
Brianna Dec 2013
Looking back I found there wasn't much I could do to get through to you.
It could have been your constant bickering or need to be better than me.... I'm not quite sure.
You picked me up so easily in your Arms I slid down your waist to kiss your lips as you smirked... I hated that smirk.
We got drunk off cheap whiskey and red lipstick.
Looking back things were so silly but we were too drunk to notice that you were too rude and I had to much pride.
It could have been your lack of lust or my lack of trust I can't remember these days.
You led me on so easily it was like a list child looking for their mom I went willingly.
We got faded off cheap bud and sour smiles.
I guess looking back I didn't notice your emptiness that couldn't be filled with ***.
Brianna Sep 2017
I remember the day you gave me the first set of red roses- you did it on New years because you always said Holidays were easier to remember-
I remember the feeling's I got-
Passion.
Excitement.
Anxiety of being treated with such love.

I remember the second time you gave me red roses- it was after we broke up for the third time- you promised we would work it out this time.
I remember the feeling's I got-
Sadness.
Love.
Hope.
Anxiety at thinking It wasn't going to get better.

I remember the last time you gave me flowers, my favorite daisies, you were moving across the country.
I remember the feelings I got-
Depression.
Lost.
Confusion.
Anxiety at knowing this was the last time we would ever have to fix us.

I don't blame you for retreating and hiding away.
I don't blame you for not wanting this to work out.
I do however blame you for making me feel worthless in the process.

I do blame you for the fact that I will forever question any man who gives me flowers and whether for not he is going to leave and never come back.
Anxiety.
Brianna Sep 2016
We rode the train across the country- just your hand in mine.
We drank coffee and fell asleep on shoulders- uncomfortably comfortable.
We watched the sunsets through glass windows huddled up together under blankets.
We read books and quietly fell in love with fictional characters who reminded us of better versions of us.
We smiled a lot and slept so little because for once our reality was better than our dreams.

"Through thick and thin." You said as we passed by the great Rocky Mountains.
"Forever and always." I said as we kissed at the station in New York.
Brianna Oct 2017
Twisted up from the inside like vines around the outside of my house.
I can see the horizon - morning is on the way and if i can just walk a little farther then i can find happiness...
I just know it!

Anxiety is melting my insides like the snow on the outside of my house.
I can see Spring is around the corner and if i just keep warm a little longer then I can find happiness...
I just know it!

It's loud and cracking the sidewalks are moving outside and its giving me a migraine.
I keep thinking the longer I hold on, the closer to happiness I will be.

But what if I am just sinking farther and farther into a sadness I haven't been formally acquainted with yet?
Brianna Jan 2014
The mirror looks so twisted and I can only see the fragmented versions of the me I used to be.

I see her eyes, they once smiled with so much joy and heart, now filled with pain and a glimmer that she's barely hanging on.

I see her smile, once filled with laughter and jokes, now filled with sad secrets and a force she never had to use before.

I see her cheeks, once held lines of youth, now hold the fear of growing old and alone.

And I think  about who I was and who I am as I stare at the pieces so deformed by the thoughts in my head and I wonder... Am I really that bad?

The answer is... I am not as bad as everyone tends to make me feel but I am truly not the monster I make myself out to be and I will rise above this challenge.
Brianna Jul 2017
They like to keep me up night--
creeping around, haunting sounds, and pale figures in doorways I can barely make out.

They like to keep me on my toes--
Small phrases that make it sounds like they care and then they turn around and stab in me the back.

They try to remind me how to move forward--
but all they do is hold me back and keep me trapped between getting out and staying there.

These ghosts aren't the ones who haunt my hallways at night.
They are not the ones you can banish with some spell or some pretty knick knack you find at the store.

No, these are the ghosts of my mind.
They are the ones who remind me everyday I am in the same place.
They are the people who forgot me.
They are the loves I have lost.

The ghosts I cannot hide from.
Brianna Feb 2020
I sit in a dark room digging up old memories that I had thought were forever in the grave.
Thai food and coffee surrounds me and in a quick minute I have never felt lonelier then I do now.

I watch old shows we used to make fun of and write stories of love that has never and most likely will never happen for me.
My thoughts are ancient memories like the dinosaurs or the Pyramids- wonders and mysteries I’ll never truly solve.

As the light from the tv shines over me, and I cuddle up with a glass of wine- I truly wonder if I’ll ever make it past this haunting nostalgia....
or will I forever be stuck to endure the ghosts and nightmares of a life that never was and probably never will be.
Brianna Dec 2017
Keep putting on a good front, let the world see that gleaming, brilliant smile you wear so well.
Let the laughter pour out like the drinks that keep sliding towards you on that bar.
Please, continue to be the class clown, make them laugh, make them wonder how you're oh, so, cool.

You put on a good front, babe.
You sure made them believe.
You put on a perfect smile, babe.
You sure let them wonder.

But I know you better then they do.
I know that smile hides sadness and fear of never being perfect.
I know those eyes hide hate for yourself and where you're at in life.

So, go ahead babe, put on that smile you wear so well.
Please let them see you laughing because god forbid they see you cry.
Continue being the confident one because we know the rest of us need a little more help.
Just remember the next time you talk about me, you're just as afraid of failing as I am.
Brianna Dec 2013
I'm hard to love.
I am stubborn and I never take compliments.
I'll deny you every chance I have just because I'm scared.
I'm mean and indecisive and sometimes I make irrational choices.
I don't like being told what to do & I hate admitting when I'm wrong unless I know I'm wrong.
Sometimes I drink to much sometimes I cuss to much and sometimes I cry too much.
I may be hard to love and a bit cynical sometimes but given the chance...
I will love you harder and stronger than anyone else in the world.
I will show you compassion and a deeper side of me than anyone has seen.
I will be your best friend and lover....
I may be hard to love but when I love I go hard.
I miss being really in love...
Brianna Jun 2016
Lying awake with my head on the opposite end of my bed trying to figure out what's up and what's down.
I've lost control again and I'm starting to think maybe I'm the guard and the prisoner.

They keep telling me you cannot hit lower than rock bottom and yet here I stand a little to close to the core of the earth.
Sweat dripping down my face and my eyes heavy with stress as I head straight into the magma and lava that awaits below me.

No one told me growing up would be this hard. That you would find yourself in sticky situations with money and love.
No one told me that sometimes you have to discipline yourself enough that you're stable and yet find the balance between work and play.

Tossing and turning my stomach is queasy and my head is throbbing from lack of sleep as I stare at the black ceiling above me.
Is there a way out of the darkness or should I hope that someday the answers will flicker on like a broken light bulb needing to be replaced?

No one told me growing up would be this hard.
Brianna Nov 2014
You came at me like quicksand and all I could think was after this there wouldn't be a single piece left of me if this ended wrong.

You were supposed to stay away ( no matter how much I wanted you). You were supposed to be strong enough to let me go... Because we both knew I wasn't.

You came back so suddenly I didn't have time to comprehend what was happening. I can't even stay mad at you when I want to!

You are a ******* disease.
You are the reason I'm so dysfunctional.
You are the love of my life
& for that I'll always forgive you even when I shouldn't.
Brianna Sep 2017
Dancing through the bright and loud New York streets my little gypsy queen floated by with her camera in hand.
Snapping memories here and there she found love around those ***** streets and neon lights.

He tried to grab her waist and pull her in but she was too preoccupied with the memories she was making.
Her hair sparkled like glitter and her smile could make the ice caps melt.

Singing to the beat of the sirens and the moving to the beat of the traffic she weaved in and out of local shops like the complex braids in her hair.

She was the queen of the grungy corner kids waiting for one more cigarette.
She was the goddess of adventure and the muse to all who craved the lust of life.
She was the Gypsy.
She was the Artist.

Dancing through the crowded New York underground, my little gypsy queen was unbelievably and undeniably herself in every way possible.
Brianna May 2016
He told me once he would name our daughter after the places we had been or flowers he picked for me.

He said he would name her Carolina, not Caroline, and he would remember those humid summer nights we spent watching the sunset.

He said he'd name her Daisy, because he knew my favorite was flowers and he would buy her anything she desired to make her as happy as me.

He told me this once, a long time ago, back when we were young and before we really thought about life. Back before I knew what I wanted and *** to react when he said he wanted kids.

I told him I hoped our son has his green eyes and his sandy blonde, but turning darker each year, hair.

I told him I hoped our son had his spark and his sarcastic smile so I could always remember he had the good pieces of his father, the parts I laughed about.

I told him that before things changed, before we both spun out of control and closer to the flames.

Now we sit on opposite sides of the country and we talk to different people about kids and love. And we wonder, where things could have been if we hadn't become so lost in ourselves  for once.
Brianna Nov 2013
You came around like the wind; sort of unannounced and very cool.
You were smooth and walked with your eyes down and head up as if the world would part for you.
You talked with your hands and told me about bands I had never heard of before...
We smoked and drank cheap wine throughout the night as if nothing could stop us.
I was intrigued; you caught me off guard.
I like the way you smile like you have some great secret or brilliant plan you can't share with anyone.
When I was with you I felt invincible...
I felt calm and stress free...
I felt peaceful.
You listened to ****** indie bands and I liked pop punk.
You liked heartbroken girls & I had a thing for good looking boys who smelled good.
No one said we were a good match...
No one said this would work out...
But I sure like you.
Brianna May 2018
It was like strawberries and champagne.
It was like the taste of sugar when my lips pressed against yours.
It was like the rush of *******.

It was the morning air filled with regret and sorrow.
It was the way you touched me that made me heart race.
It was the look you gave me when you said you wouldn't be back tomorrow.

I like the games, they keep me on my toes.
but i hate the way my heart feels when we are done.
I like the games but they fill me with woes.

It was like strawberries and smoke.
It was the way you asked me my name when we first met.
It was the way i wished you'd just choke.

emotions are high.
I am high.
My life... is low.
Brianna Jun 2017
He likes to come back when I least expect it and sometimes I wonder if it's because its familiar or if it's the sheer fact we are both missing something in our lives.

He likes to tell me when he's drunk and filled with lust -- and because I'm lonely I get off knowing I'm on his drunken mind.
He likes to tell me the things he would do if I was in the same room- but we both know that's just drunken words and actions always speak a little louder.

He's clumsy with words, but also eloquent enough to get me hot.
His tongue plays tricks.
His lips speak riddles meant for only me to solve.

I think somewhere deep down he knows we aren't good for each other and that my heart lies with another man.
I think somewhere within he numbs the fact I've broken his heart numerous times simply to get off.
I think somewhere in his heart... he knows I'm no good for him.

But those lips speak riddles against my skin.
His tongue leaves my body crawling for more.
One day he will  stop calling and we will be left with clumsy words and broken memories.

Dread fills my stomach and I’m puking in the bathroom before dinner. I know they are all outside talking loudly.

There is so much food at this table and everyone thinks the fat girl will just gorge and eat herself to death.
But I’m starving myself.
I’m punishing myself for weight I can’t lose fast enough.

I know you all are staring.
I don’t need the comments - I say them enough to myself daily.
I don’t need your frustration - I have enough of my own.
I don’t need the comparisons and the comments of how beautiful they are and how disgusting I am.

And while you claim you’ll never think that I know you do- deep down.
I hear it in the “oh you look nice today”
I hear it in the “a little walk won’t hurt”
I hear it in the “we just want to make sure you’re happy and healthy.”

The stigma-
All fat people are unhealthy- let’s be honest, I’ve had my body examined more than you and I’m in perfect health.
All fat people are lazy- while you’re sitting in your house all day I’ve been hiking and running around like a chicken without a head just fine.
All fat people do is eat eat eat- I had one plate you had 6.

Dread fills my stomach & my anxiety is running high -
Who the **** made holidays a time to hang with family ?

They say you'll know when you kiss someone if it will last or not but wih you I have
Never been quite sure of anything
Except that I am
Mad
About
You.

We kissed so shyly at first and the passion I felt was more than most people feel in a lifetime. We looked deep into each other's eyes falling in love and in love.
We were one.
We were infinite.

I couldn't be quite sure where this was going but I knew if it remained strong I would
Be perfectly okay staying
Mad
About
You.

We danced along rooftops and swam through oceans to gain each other's trust. We watched stars burst and moments passed us by without a single sigh.
We were one.
We were infinite.

When the moment came for us to choose to stay with one another or to leave... I left. As many wonder what I was thinking I knew in that moment something I would never forget.

If I kept focusing on the glory, the beautiful, amazing moments we shared and never touched the horror of our love, then how would anyone ever know the truth was:

I was completely
Unbelievably
Truly
Disgusted by you.
I don't know about this one but I like it so far
Brianna Sep 2016
You can't blame me when the moon is out and I'm howling to the skies above with good friends.
We left summer with every inch of our souls.

When fall arrived we found love in corn mazes and pumpkin patches.
Dreaming of cinnamon flavored candles and the nostalgic feeling of being wanted.

When winter came around we traded our flannels in for oversized jackets and warm gloves.
We spent our nights drinking spiked hot chocolate laughing at how reckless we had become.

When New Years came around we saw each other in a new light.
We knew spring wouldn't hold much for us but did our best to dance in the rain.

Throughout the years you'll find me remembering moments I shared with people I've loved.
You'll find me putting pieces of myself back together when they've gone and created new lives for themselves.

And when we get old and time has changed us physically.
You'll find me howling at the moon on those summer nights listening for my loved ones again.
Brianna Feb 2014
It was hot... Almost to hot.
Hot in a sticky wet way that made me want to run away.
I was from this high and dry desert town; we complain about dry heat but the humidity is by far the worst change I've ever experienced.
I walked down those airport stairs contemplating where I could get some water or coffee; I mean it was 6 in the morning!
I remember thinking how angry I was going to be if you weren't waiting for me.... I know you hate mornings.
And if there is one thing I'll never forget for the rest of my life is the way you stood at the bottom of the stairs in that airport terminal and the way you made me catch my breath.... I almost forgot that humidity that made my skin pour and my hair frizz.... I almost forgot I needed that coffee or that I had just been on a plane for 6 hours....

But I sure didn't forget how I was so enamored by every single piece of you.

I wasn’t just another museum tour you had on your list.
You don’t get to come through here with your bright words and advanced vocabulary telling me how things should have been and where we should be.
You don’t get to come in and destroy my artwork as if I didn’t spend my whole life creating it from the ground up.

I am celestial.
I am the 8th wonder of the world.
I am a temple of power and femininity that your mind will never understand.

I wasn’t just a solar system you thought you had the right to explore.
You don’t get to set up camp and experiment and write stories about me as if I wasn’t real.
You don’t get to see the light and the stars of mind and then use them for some ultimate power move.

I am a ******* privilege.
I am a ******* planet.
I am a ******* black hole of love and destruction that you shouldn’t have messed with.

I wasn’t some church you thought you come to and atone and be forgiven for your sins just because you said some prayers.
You don’t get to come in here and demand forgiveness when you don’t deserve it.
You don’t get to come in here and disrespect all entities and gods and goddesses just because you don’t believe in a higher power.

I am a goddess.
I am my own deity.
I am a power of worship and peace that your heart will never understand.

I am so much more then the girl to a man with such a simple mind.

I could tell you how every stupid Taylor swift song I hear reminds me of you.
Or how I'm drowning myself at the expense of my liver.
I could tell you I'm covering my lips in
Red lipstick hoping someone will call me out one bluff.
I know you'll regret leaving me; you always crawl back with broken promises.
And I could tell you how every east coast band I hear brings tears to my eyes.
I could tell you how winter is the most depressing
Time of the year for me because
Everything I see
Everything I do
Everything I hear
Reminds me of you.
And I just want to tell you one thing...
I am doing in everything in my power
In my heart
In my mind
In my body
To move on from what you ever said
Ever did
To me.

I lost you in between rainy windows and sad jazz songs we put on repeat.
He told me he would never let me fall apart but the thing I don't want to be put back together.
He said he'd wait for me, that I would change my mind, but we know I'll always be this way.
I lost you somewhere in green fields overflowing with fireflies lighting up our darkest night.
He said he knew if I just tried to love him things would work out!
He said he could feel the connection even if I couldn't see it yet.
I love you, and I don't love him, but I lost you somewhere between rainy windows and sad jazz songs.
I don't love him.
I wish he'd stop trying to love me.
And I wish the one I loved would admit his feelings.

I gave you time- all the time in the world- and when i promised i would love you forever - it wasn't a lie-
However, the time has been passing, and each day I wait, I find a piece of my soul goes missing-
Life would have been everything we wanted it to be - but you couldn't get me a straight answer to save your life-

I gave you time- all the time in the world- and when I promised I would love you forever, well, you're turning me into a liar-
I went to close the door, I shoved all the evidence of you back into the closet and locked it air tight, hoping that if i left no oxygen in the room your memories would die-
However, the memories are trying to escape and reaching out to my friends is still the cowards way to go-

I gave you time- all the time in the world- and when I promised I would love you forever, well, I'm taking that back now-
You used me up, you disrespected me and made me the fool in my own kingdom when I should have been the queen-
However, I made it **** near impossible to reach me this time- I am locking up my heart- double knotting it to the docks so  it doesn't float right back your way again-

I gave you time.
I gave you all the time in the world.
When I promised I would love you forever- I didn't know the clock would stop working.

I smoked my last cigarette today on top of this city's skyline as i let the windy night flow through my long hair.
My hair is getting so long.

I keep losing my train of thought; trying to drown the thoughts of ending it all with a bitter beer.
I really hate beer.

I keep myself busy planning my escape from this Cities hold on me but we all know I am afraid to make the first move.
I  am always so afraid.

Failing isn't an option and you told me you were never wrong... i almost believe you until the day you left me.
I knew you were wrong about at least one thing now.

I started smoking again today... I could have swore I was done with this disgusting habit but my life is one habitual mess.
I have horrible habits.

I planned my escape today while i sat work, slacking off like my boss often does, and i realized I can do.
I think things are going to be okay.

I threw out the bitter beer i had in the fridge today. I really can't stand the cheapness of it and how it reminds me of your bittersweet goodbye.
They both tasted the same to me.

I finally got that hair cut i told you i was getting.
The truth is hate long hair anyways.

One day I hope you stop staring at the clocks you keep in your apartment. I hope you stop wondering whether time is slowing down or speeding up. I hope you stop questioning whether you're living in the past and start focusing on the future.

One day I hope you stop writing self
Destructive volumes and novels about yourself. I hope you stop comparing yourself to cancer and death. I hope you stop focusing on other people and learn that it's only you.

One day you'll wake up and find the anxiety and depression is all a little less terrifying than the day before. You'll find that the clocks are meaningless and time is nothing especially relevant. You'll find that the self destruction has turned into self love and the world might continue to go on for another day.

But if you find yourself stuck... In the middle of wanting to die and wanting to ask for help.  I hope you remember to ask.
I hope you remember it's okay to be afraid.
I hope you remember you will go on.

And if I find myself stuck... I hope I re read these words I wrote to try to find myself back again...

I like the way you broke my heart it was almost to innocent.
You read me like you're favorite book fast and skimming the words.
You told me you had the perfect summary of me; heartbroken tragedy awaiting.
And at the time I didn't know what that meant but I get it now.
See you sketched our romance like an amateur artist.
You drew us in pencil never retracing in pen.
And I waited around for the finished work only to receive an empty page with eraser marks.
I like the way you stole my heart it was almost to easy.
You kept me around like a lost puppy; waiting for the actual owner to show up.
You told me pretty lies to make me smile not realiZing I was still crying on the inside.
And like the poet I felt I was I wrote this down for you to read.
I just wanted you to know I don't like not being able to repair this broken heart.

I like you early in the morning, before you even open your eyes to a new day. I like you in the middle of the night when you're mumbling nonsense and making weird noises in your sleep.

I like you in the afternoon when you can't figure out if you're hungry or not. I like you when you're upset, seeing your brown crease in frustration over some minuscule problem.

I like you when you're yelling about something and I like you even when we disagree. I liked you when you walked into my life and I liked you even when you walked away.

Even though you've walked away without a decent explanation... I still like you anyways.

We fell down the mountain into piles of cold snow and we never saw the frostbite headed our way.
It was cold and lonely as we went our separate ways but the ice had only just begun to form in our hearts.

It was like trying to cross a train track when the train was moving full speed ahead; death was around the corner laughing at us. It was like trying to breathe underwater; impossibilities were not our strong suit.

I would like to paint a picture of us but I wouldn't know what color to start with. Sometimes I picture us so blue and calm with tiny hints of red... But it was more like red slashes along a white canvas.

We hit the winter at full speed with only our naive hearts guiding the way. Love melted faster than the snow that night and there was nothing we could do to stop it.

Even after all this time... You're the only one I want to waste my time with..

I want to day dream of your eyes and your lips. I want to day dream of the day we get married and the vows we will make.

I want to fall in love with you each day, over and over again. I want to be afraid of the "what ifs?" And the " I don't knows" with you and only you.

You told me you love me, you said you were afraid... And I just want you to know....

There is no one else in this world if rather waste my time with.

These headaches come without warning; they hit me like a train at full speed.
I haven't slept in weeks and you're the only nightmare that keeps reoccurring.
My heart tells me  I'm ready to move on but my brain tells me I should just wallow in sadness a bit more.
You're name is the only thing I wake up screaming in anguish and my roommate is tired of me scaring her every night... I can't stop it even if I tried.
I have been grinding my teeth again and my jaw is sore from holding back all the emotions and fake smiles.
I keep trying to convince myself things are going to be okay but my body keeps convincing me I'm weaker than everyone thinks I am... Weaker than I thought I was.
These headaches come without a warning; they hit me like a baseball bat with full swing.
I'm bending backwards lately but my heart is swollen wih fear.
The drugs and alcohol just turn me into a monster I can't stand!
I keep apologizing for silly things and I'm crying every night.
I went and got myself destroyed over you & I just want to ask....
Do you know what it feels like to be in too deep over your head?
Brianna Sep 2014
I hope the rain stops and the leaves change from green to red for you.
I hope the fog fades and the sun comes out to shine down on you.
I hope when the morning rises and you're tired eyes awake you feel peace...

I hope the night stays a little longer and you find that sense of adventure again.
I hope your eyes stop hurting and your lips stop cracking from the days you've been crying.
I hope when the morning rises you feel love again.
