The Ocean and Transient Me
Mercury Chap Aug 2017
Memories, as I recall,
Leak from my eyes,
Nostalgia washing the shores of conscience,
Pushing out the pensive mood from the ocean of lively memories,
Sinking my feet inside the soft, brittle sand castles,
Buried years ago under the waves of time,
Afraid to walk further into the tide,
Happiness of past brimming itself with pain,
Oh I wish I could go back again and again.

Those Juvenile Dreams...
Mercury Chap Jun 2017
How fast her fingers move on
From work out tips to
Cannes festival link
Her heart and mind afloat in the
Jolly, juvenile winds,
She opens her wings and flies into the jet streams,
Soaring for the highest peak of her heart
Always dreaming, imagining her future fantasy,
Hoping reality wouldn't crush her
Before she even starts struggling.

Something Burning
Mercury Chap Jun 2017
It isn't just a flame
Burning within me
(cannot extinguish with your loving words)
It isn't only the rotten smell of overcooked thoughts
(I'd still love to eat their bitterness away)
Although it is...

It is me and my love for thee,
You who makes me a poet,
Who makes me feel enough to feel human
Whether it's sadness, happiness, hatred or jealousy
(oh that silly stinging heart of mine)

No... It's a contagious forest fire
Combusting my sanity towards those
Near you; Lived and living or loving
(how readily my tears want to burn them)

It's known it's not healthy
But you don't see it's my love anyway
Even when I am angry with you
(nothing that you're responsible for)
And mime my thoughts out to you
So you never understand.

By the time this forest obliterates,
It's all just too late to tell you,
And again,
The ash is buried inside,
Waiting to reignite,
Soon.

Nothing is cheesy with you
Mercury Chap Jun 2017
Crazy stupid things
Nothing but too sweet, too cheesy,
Cherry on top of a typical romance story,
Some things which are worth gagging at,
But being in such a close proximity to you
I guess, I predict, warm stars would burst within me
Shivering my soul from head to the tip of my toes,
An earthing shock electrocuting me,
I would forget I used to be sane
And dance, floating above the ground in our own bubbled space
I would do all the crazy stupid things with you.

How to write a poem
Mercury Chap Jun 2017
Ask yourself, how are you feeling?
Sad, mad, happy, glad?
Maybe stuck in a hurricane of gloom, Where angry grey skies loom
High up above your head,
Even when they aren't near,
Your heart is filled with fear.

How are you feeling?
Write it all out
Maybe compare it with a simile or a metaphor so the reader feels it too,
You need these devices only for beautification,
So the reader connects with you.

One more tip,
I will make it quick
It is only for the comfort of lips,
That we make it all rhyme,
But it's not necessary,
Since at times we try rhyming it, and it doesn't make sense,
Like celebrating marriage (death) anniversary.

It is all up to you, what you have to write,
It doesn't have to be a structure,
There are no rules, no regulations,
Only you and your heart,
So let the ink flow to its natural tendency
And what will be will be.

So my dear writer, I hope I helped,
I hope you see it clear and bright,
It's your turn to tell me
How are feeling? Is everything alright?
Just write and write and write.

I'll be gone
Mercury Chap Jun 2017
It's not as if I am the sun
Without which the day is just as dark
I am not the needle which ****** your emotions
Without which you're just as empty
I am not your heart
Even though you say I am
I am not that thin brittle air you breathe
Maybe you don't know -yet- but I do clearly,
You wouldn't even notice
When I'm nowhere to be seen
You wouldn't even notice
That I have ever been,
You wouldn't even notice.

Who IS poet?
Mercury Chap Mar 2017
A lot many times,
Constantly,
Innumerably,
Perpetually,
I am too handicapped to write
A sentence
Or
Two... words, one word, three words, four words...
Like a poet. I am too unconfident or inconfident or disconfident or... Is it unconfident? No, yes, no. Yes.
I am too broke, mentally, exhausted reserve of words, letters and alphabets that I am not native to, but are mine since I was born and my real language is lost amongst the chaos of my broken English. I can't be a good writer like this.
I can't be a poet, I am a person merely aware of a few things in life and can't express it clearly so I think vague poetry helps, even though I write it I can't interpret someone else's poems.
I am not qualified to be a poet. I haven't written 200 sonnets or a 1000 poems on various themes of life, not qualified to write poems on all stages of Human Development. I have only written a 100 poems... Actually, 150. But you can think it's 100.
I am not a poet. I am not old, I am not famous. I am not dead. Why should I be called a poet?
I am just a person who is expressing oneself, I shouldn't get so haughty and give myself a designation. Yet.
Let me grow old and decay in time, so when the earth swallows me up, provided people know me then by luck or chance, I might become a poet. I might.
I am not a poet.
But then, who IS poet?

Occupation
Mercury Chap Mar 2017
I can overload the already built occupation with more competition and make a tower out of it,
in which my work would be only a brick,
Although cemented in the walls but invisible amongst the other bricks.
I don't want to be a brick,
I want to be creator of the tower,
Who will always remain at the base and remembered to the unending apex.
Mercury Chap Feb 2017
There are times when someone else's  words
Feel just as familiar as if they were your own
That you can't help falling in love with it
Happy to know
You're not all alone.

Your Fair Lady
Mercury Chap Feb 2017
She doesn't need your 'love' to survive
Your 'love' meaning providing her with sufficient funds
Or giving her a roof above her head
Then calling her your wife
She doesn't need your sympathies  by buying her food and clothing
Or by doing the formalities of saying one word or two per day, like 'Do this' or 'Hmm'
She has seen a lot like you
No she doesn't need your 'love' and sympathy
She needs Love, real love
Which means, if you know how to read a dictionary,
Caring and being affectionate,
Not lashing whip at her for every single mistake she makes,
Understanding and encouraging,
Not blaming her for every single **** thing you did wrong in your messed up life.
Oh you want a fair lady, the fairest of all?
Before pushing her in front of the magic mirror
Dare to present yourself in front of it
Listen what it tells about you and your messed up grey matter
And compare who is being fairer.

Dear Poetry
Mercury Chap Feb 2017
Dear poetry,
You are still here aren't you
Why haven't you left me?
When I only ever wrote you gloomy,
Only so I feel better expressing myself to anyone who reads it
And discards it in their short term memory, left abandoned to be forgotten,
Why haven't you left me?
You're only there to display my grieves to those
Who look at you one second and look at someone else the other
Why haven't you left me?
When I rant on you, play with words on your belly to make an impact and point to the world
That my world isn't a happy place, that I am the biggest fault in my world
And you are the support which obscures all my faults
As they only see the calligraphy of words and mosaics I make out of you. They all seek beauty and heart touching sentences out of you and pluck them out like with their silly fingers and adore them. Cause why does anyone want to know about gloom? There is plenty in their world I bet.
While you over there materialise yourself for me and only me, open yourself to any other person who passes by and close down when they are done plucking out your beauty.
Why oh why, after all this are you with me?
Maybe because I have tied you to me
Maybe because I don't want you to leave.

Crocodile Smiles
Mercury Chap Jan 2017
If there can be crocodile tears,
There exists crocodile smiles
I see them everywhere
I feel them playing on my lips
Everytime I pose for a picture that I don't want to pose for,
I don't want to smile, cannot smile
Because there is nothing to smile for
But we have to smile for a picture right?
All over the world wide Web I see the plastic smiles adorned over pretty the faces
Only the eyes giving out the truth with a dull sheen,
The dead sadness and the extinct happiness
Reflected by that flash in your camera which is there to light up your face
Those smiles that make the world jealous and mean nothing to themselves
Can you just for once zoom in and look into the stillness of my eyes
See the longing and the emptiness,
Devoid of any form of happiness,
Of anything which can genuinely induce a smile in a normal human being
Those eyes of mine are just waiting and waiting for this one missing part in my life,
That hand I would hold with care,
Those lips which would kiss away my invisible tears
Those eyes which would take me to dreamland with one look
That voice which would tingle my insides into bursting fireworks
That person who would stretch the corners of my mouth as far as the west and east of earth
Without any effort that even I wouldn't realise
When I smile
Genuinly
For the first time in years.

When she decides to leave
Mercury Chap Dec 2016
Maybe be blackhole
In the pit of her stomach
Was enough to consume her
To disappear within midnight
Without any countenance in sight.

Before she could,
The heart beats its feet,
Sinks into the earth,
Rises above with sprouting buds-
Singing a melody, approach her to stay-
Dormant and yet to be born.

Sucked into nothingness
Mercury Chap Dec 2016
She wishes the pain was enough to consume her,
Little by little,
Atom by atom
Flesh by flesh,
That her heart obliterates just as soon
As it reaches the brink,
The peak of all the miseries.

She wishes to merge with the mist
And never be found again.

Lazarus
Mercury Chap Dec 2016
'Let me tell you a thing or two,' he said.

She clutched his hand
The other clutched her breast.
She heaved and wheezed
As the universe dropped on her chest,
Waiting for the last words
She would hear.

His lips were devine as they recited a sermon-
How good she is,
How the world needs her-
She watched his perfect eyes
Delve into her depths, see through her.
He acknowledged her beauty,
She didn't hear.

She was deaf for those words
Her beauty, nonexistent,
Her intellect, negligible,
Every word he spoke about her
Was Unintelligible.

All she mumbled with the life left in her:
'How did I deserve you, oh, heaven?'

Have you ever felt
The world slip away from your fingers
Your hopes, worries and anxiety
All crush you beneath a mammoth of fears
That no matter how much you struggle
It'll push further till you bleed
How much you try standing up
It'll splinter the strength in your marrow
Bit by bit
You Crumble and fret
And all of a sudden
You stop struggling.

Have you ever felt
Like giving up to it
Just embrace the slumber
Sooner than planned
And close your eyes
Forever?

I have. I do. I will. Until it all ends...

Can't Bear Her Anymore
Mercury Chap Nov 2016
She hates me,
Annoys me,
Makes fun of me,
Kills me.

While She is Me

She rejoices when I give in,
Give up,
Crumble, diminish, shrink

Fall down and deep
Swallowed in an abyss of dreams.

I want to fall asleep.

Rainbow Of My Life
Mercury Chap Sep 2016
I see a sky full of rainbows
I feel their warmth,
Their vibrant colours tingling my skin
Though they are so far away.

I long to touch them,
Feel them under my grasp
I can’t wait to embrace them
As they hold me, our souls clasp.

Through this distance I see a world of joy
A world of colours, vibrant and lovely
My rainbow is such a beautiful boy.

The spectrum envelopes me in its comfort
It gives me the strength to keep moving
Gives me hope of a magical future
Where our love sparkles, never ending.

Whenever I think of him

I live for him,
Every breath I take
I take each one for him.

Frozen
Mercury Chap Aug 2016
She always knew
She was too cold to touch,
Too hard, too repelling.

Her tears would freeze
In the depths of her eyes
Her heart was stiff
Sharper than the knives.

But as she never saw
Through the fog in her life
Mayhap somewhere in the distance
She wasn't as cold as this other
Who, when they woke up at dawn,
Prayed the sun
For a warmth like Hers.

No Luck
Mercury Chap Aug 2016
when it's dark enough
for the stars to be invisible
and my eyes still open wide
don't shut, don't dream
i feel like i'm falling
in the bottomless pit
where the darkness embraces me
and i can't tear out of it
but shiver uncontrollably
unstoppable, i look for the sharp
edge of the frindly enemy
in the drawer
inside the cupboard,
and I know, it's my short term memory,
Cannot find it,
panic,
heavy breaths,
anger,
tears,
anguish,
unlucky for the day,
unlucky, no scars,
yet.

Light And Dark
Mercury Chap Jul 2016
It was the witch

Who didn't know magic

Her spells rebound

Struck her heart

Tears, gloom all around,

No where to restart.

It was the ghost

Who knew the way to light

And though he wandered clueless

Without any delight,

Had a heart of a firefly

But no one to rely.

When the dark and the light

Merge with an ease

Of water paints

Where there's melancholy,

There's mutual empathy and love,

There's a new creation of hope,

It's all over above.
Story of the oer lost light and the one lost in dark.

Who are you?
Mercury Chap Jun 2016
There is that tunnel I see

A reflection of my own soul

At the edge of it I stand with my trembling feet

And shiver under my sweat with fear of darkness.

"Hello?" I call out.

The darkness grumbles like

A hungry beggar's stomach

And mumbles out a deep

"Hello?"

"Who are you?" the dud lips speak.

"Who are you?" the tunnel of my conscience

Echoes a little late.

A pain in my chest shrieks out a

"I don't know!"

And my feet shuffle away

Into a quick sprint

Away from the tunnel

Of my dark dark soul

Away from everything

As if

Running could make

A shattered heart

Whole.

Knit that sweater for me, please,
That sweet humming with its peaceful catch
Your hands and their darkening crease,
A mere cloth of your hardwork
To stay with me.

When it wraps around me
On a chilly day
I'll feel your love
Your warm embrace.

Under the sunlight
I'll dream of the rows,
Silly reasons to fight,
But even if for a day, I was your foe,
Your love would cook for me,
Knead the chapati dough

Make me that beautiful sweater
On my 90th Christmas when you're above
I'll wear your colours, my dear mother,
Which will remind me.of your undying love.

The Mysteries Of This Music
Mercury Chap May 2016
A dangerous song
The soul tangles up in
A rhythm, a tune
Plays incessantly
An addiction, lust,
It traps everything you have within its hold
And dances like a ghost
Possessing the body whole.

The soul is caged,
Vulnerable to this mysterious music,
Addicted like a hippie singing Hare Krishna,
With the perfect cadence
Chanting the lover’s name,
Exasperated and confused,
It looks for reasons
To decipher its meaning.

Is this love?

Mythical Angel
Mercury Chap Apr 2016
Invincible angel that I can't see
Who dwells in his dreams
Why in a hundred days i've held his hands
You're still a myth to me

the sirens in the black waters
They sing and beckon their pray
And he doesn't stir but
Your voice may crumble my day

Our strides may sort to slow down
But I sprint to match his gait
By his side i feel i am just a clown
When I see you on his back till date

I've tried on your magic shoes
Infuriated every time I don
Over my tight fitted thick socks
They're too lose for us to move on.

I'd write those enchantments merrily
If you'd be so happy to share
The cracks and crevices in his soul you made,
My soft hands try to fill, I dare

I live to see the colour of your eyes
That can't be fogotten once seen
The spectator revers your name on his lips
Where my heart is stuck in between.

Each star in the sky is etched with your name
Each word i speak is a repetition of time
So I sit dumb, he begs to play your games,
Fearing you, I write my anguish in my rhymes.

Oh angel, you're a myth that scares me
My heart so heavily cries and reeks
That now another day I kiss his lips,
It's only your sparkling taste I seek.
Mythical angel you flew away
You've clawed his heart
It's my nightmare today
That we'll be forever apart.

She Was A Missile
Mercury Chap Apr 2016
She was a missile
Dropped from the outer space
****** into the black hole
Into a parallel universe
And as she landed in my arms
It was all meant to be
She was here meant to make this universe happy.

The sparkle of her eyes
Showed the thrill of the skies
The starburst, the planets collide
The world I waited to see
The world she wanted to show me
A world of ecstasy.

She ran through the fields
I tried to hold her leash
But she freed herself and ran further
But looked back to see me
On the ground, all cut and bruised
Because of her energetic force,
She ran back and kissed all my tears
And we ran together in the fields of
Flowers that bloomed as she ran through
All the flowers bloomed in the barren land
Her happiness was contagious.

Her little tail wagged as I played along
And her tiny paws scratched my skin red
But those scars are all I had
Of her to remember her
Not a picture nor a painting to show
The love she engraved in my soul

She was a missile
Gliding through the winds
Taking you along in her adventures
Taking you along with her alluring smile
That others fail to see in her creature
We are odd to think we're not animals
Cause she wasn't any animal too
She was just another soul
A soul that mingles with the winds
makes the air laugh so much
It's difficult to breathe.

She was a missile
And she burst as fast as
She landed here
In my arms
And exploded bringing the sparkling tears that were
The starburst, the planets colliding
The world that I knew someday I'd see
The world she showed to me
The dreary universe she left in glee.

She is wizzing through the skies now
Among the burning stars
She is a shooting star now
Ready to enter another universe
Look out for her, the brightest one she'll be
The one that'll make you smile, she'll be,
She is there to make your wishes true.

She is a missile
She'll catch your eye
The shiniest one in the sky
It is all meant to be
She is there to make another universe happy.
5 April 2016 she shot up in the sky
I'll look up every day
And love her even after I die.

Are so unworldly picturesque
It’s always hard to believe.

It begs to reignite
Its pledge to take up a fight
And we will be the
Few of the ones
Who survived...

Not so lovely is sleep,

She has no features on her
But she keeps on banging her fist to be free.

I stare into the giant river
The ripples wrinkle her smooth face
Devoid of nose, devoid of eyes, devoid of lips,
Her face, I see, is the emptiest place.

I stare at my reflection,
But I'm acquainted with an unknown countenance,
Staring back at me like an empty piece of paper,
Begging words to be written on her to make sense.

But making sense wasn't enough.

Which I never adore.

I am trapped in this thought cloud
Flying beyond the horizons of fantasy,
Reaching non-existent places,
Impossible in my destiny.

I float around on this surface,
Swimming like a cinder-block
On this black tar of love,
Burnt from within,
And ready to burn further,
To win it all,
And to get that shine of a diamond,

You make me feel
Not a word you say,
My heart skips a beat.

You're this ghost
Invisible, yet, imaginable
You hold my hand,

Like swift winds
You swivel and fly
Up in the clouds

A thousand unimaginable things.

I wish I could control your emotions
But you don't feel what I see
You don't see what I feel.

I am joker faking a smile
An ear looking into your eyes
Laughing at your silly jokes
Loving it when you make fun of me.

I beg him
Mercury Chap Jul 2015
I beg his eyes
To look at me for once
Even a glance would suffice this hungry soul
A link with those eyes, make me lost
They're no less than a black hole.

I beg his lips to turn up to heaven
Those pretty little teeth
Flash to burn the darkness around me
So I find my way in the sunless day
With his smile even a blind will start to see.

I beg his ears
To listen to my voice
When I try to sing in the sweetest way (im)possible
Just so he could hear my voice
So he could hear only me above all the noise.

I beg his nose
To smell this cheap perfume I wear
Just for his receptors to be aware
Of my invisible presence in his life
So in his mind my cheap perfume runs rife.

I beg his skin
To feel the waves of my love
On his tiny hair which makes dots of goosebumps
And wave them as if a wind is blowing
Out on his skin my love is always flowing.

I beg him
To beg for me
The way I beg for him
If only his soul is as tattered as mine.
Another poem for a crush. I guess this one seems a bit creepy (but I have no intentions to make it creepy). What to do? Sad story, same life.

Art thou mine inner soul
Art thou this air I breathe
Art thou mine internal whole?

Oh, poetry where thou live?
Come hither thee
Cans't thou be a little hearty to give
Thy name, thy soul,
Oh, you make me whole.

Lovely poetry,
Pity this misfortunate lover
Your beauty I love to see
Don't vacant this lonely  heart
Paint thy words on these throbbing veins
Flow thy letters in this blood
Oh it won't pain.

Beloved poetry,
My heart thee hold
Beloved poetry,
Be my whole world.
I am undeniably in love with this wonderful beauty in this world- poetry.

Painful Daylight
Mercury Chap Jun 2015
It's a habit now
To live in the darkness
That's the only thing I get to adore
It pains to see the daylight any more.

How Can You Guide A Heart?
Mercury Chap Jun 2015
How can you guide a heart
When the heart isn't in there
When the heart has been stolen away.

How can you guide a heart
When it is juxtaposed to someone else's rhythm
When it has disappeared itself
And all that's left is just an empty space.

How can you guide a heart
When all that is left
Is an empty chest?

When everything in a magic trick
Is an illusion
Then how can we say
That life isn't a delusion?

Pretentious
Mercury Chap Jun 2015
They were fake
She always knew
They were liars
She always knew
Someone told her to keep quiet
You're living a life
Pretend that it's all true.
