Twin Kisses
Hebert Logerie Nov 2024
Hello
Goodbye
Good evening
Ad vitam aeternam.

With my two hands
I kiss you for life
For tomorrow's flowers
And happiness on the rugs.

A kiss on the left
And another on the right
It's not ugly at all.

Deep at the bottom of your narrow throat
I swim not far from the lawn
Like a giant shark.

Spring Is Here. Hooray!
Spring is here to stay
For three months, hooray!
More bluebirds are chanting
More tulips are blooming
More trees are growing
And dusts are in the air.

The weather is cool, not cold
More houses are being sold
More joggers run in the streets
More retirees are warming the seats
More athletes are at their meets
And allergies are in the air.

Spring is here to stay
For a quarter of the year, hooray!

A new Pope
A new hope
Farewell to Pope Francis
Who did a wonderful job as a great clergy
As we know, age believes in no dynasty
We come and we go like a kiss
New blood is needed from time to time
And of course, that’s natural; that’s not a crime
Novum papam habemus
Novum spem habemus
We have a new hope
We have a new Pope
A new Leader for the Catholic Church
The search is over, no more search
For a few decades, since no man or woman is eternal
The recent Popes have been  friendly, humble and truthful
We expect the Pontiff to be better than the previous one
(No laughing matter) Who is sitting in Heaven
Filing and signing his proper documents
Where countless Angels are singing under the divine tents
The world is right now deep in a messy situation:
Lies, crimes, corruption, deportation and discrimination
For crying out loud, this is to say the least
However, the entire world wants peace, peace and peace
We want all nightmares to end: injustice, wars and poverty
Novum spem habemus
Novum papam habemus
We have a new hope
We have a new pope
May God bless the new Pontiff, Mother Nature and Humanity!

Mama Ist Tot
Hebert Logerie Nov 2024
Wo niemand stirbt

¡Oh, otoño, me encanta tu sonrisa maravillosa y natural.

No fabricamos armas
En nuestro lugar
Solo tenemos lágrimas
En nuestro lugar
Nosotros lloramos

No quiero romper tu corazón
¡Oh, Jo, Jo, Jo! Me encanta una Navidad correcta y alegre.

Un nuovo Papa
Una nuova speranza
Addio a Papa Francesco
Ogni tanto c'è bisogno di sangue nuovo
E naturalmente è naturale; Non è un crimine
Novum papam habemus
Novum spem habemus
Menzogne, crimini, corruzione, espulsioni, discriminazione e impunità
Cavolo, è un eufemismo
Tuttavia, il mondo intero anela a:
La pace, la pace e la pace
Vogliamo che tutti gli incubi finiscano:
Ingiustizia, guerre, ipocrisia, razzismo, intolleranza e povertà
Habemus novum spem
Habemus novum papam

Jean Pierre Basilic Dantor Frankétienne D'Argent
Quem escreveu, à pressa, o último ato
Milagrosamente, acabou no porto

Wendell diria

O gigante, o escritor, o ator, o escritor
É a morte

Yon nouvo Papa
Yon nouvo espwa
Orevwa Pap Franswa
Nou vini, nou ale epi nou ale tankou yon ti bo
Detanzantan, nou bezwen san nouvo
Epi natirèlman, li natirèl; Se pa yon krim
Novum papam habemus
Novum spem habemus
Nou gen yon nouvo espwa
Nou gen yon nouvo Rwa
Yon nouvo lidè pou Legliz Katolik
Ankèt la fini, eleksyon an fini, tout kontwovès fini
Kote yon dividal zanj ap chante anba tant diven yo
A mwen pa konn si ke yap bwè di ven
Mond lan jodi a plonje nan yon sitiyasyon dezastre e malveyan:
Manti, krim, koripsyon, ekspilsyon, diskriminasyon ak enpinite
Sepandan, lemond antye anvi:
Lapè, lapè e lapè
Nou vle ke tout move rèv kaba, fini:
Enjistis, lagè, ipokrizi, rasis, entolerans ak povrete
Novum spem hablemus
Novum papam hablemus
Nou gen yon nouvo espwa
Nou gen yon nouvo Papa

Tu seras naturellement fanée alors;

Ecoute l'écho mélodieux des trompettes angéliques;

We Die A Little
We die a little bit
Each day and each night
As we live every minute
Gleeful or glum under the light.

We die in our sleep
And rise again if we’re lucky
And blessed. This is deep
Few people are truly canny or savvy.

Believe not in all the glitters
When it’s time to go or to depart
Gravity behaves like deadly creatures.

We die every day and every night
A little mum or sharp under the weight
As darkness exists deep in the heart.

They Eat Good Hot Dogs
Hebert Logerie Oct 2024
They consume hot dogs
Too
Like you
But they don’t eat dogs
Never, ever
They do not eat cats
They do not eat pets
Never, never.

Immigrants eat wild boars, wild hogs
That’s hot Griot
They don’t eat rabbits
But they eat spicy Tassot
And of course, they eat hot dogs.

Haitians eat and drink Soup Joumou
Which contains vegetables and of course carrots
Haitian food
Is very, very good
Immigrants consume good meats
Like you.

Stop being racist
Stop being supremacist
Years ago, your ancestors used to eat dogs
Not immigrants, not West Indians
Not Haitians
Quit the hate
Think about your fate
On the final date
Immigrants eat fried wild hogs
Like zillion of Americans
Who love apple pies
Stop the lies, stop all the lies.

The massacres of our beautiful people must STOP.
It is unconscionable and unfair to destroy so many lives
For selfish, greedy and hatred reasons. God, in his archives,
Have recorded everything, which occurred, from top
To bottom, from sunset to sunrise, from the start
To the end. God knows what’s going on in every one’s heart.
God knows what took place in Cleveland, in Charleston,
In Santo Domingo, in Staten Island, in Sparta, in North Charleston
In Buffalo, in Texas, in New York, in Ferguson.
The Lord is fully aware of what has been going on.
The massacres of our beautiful siblings cannot go on.
The brutal and deadly violence against the innocents must cease.
Too many of our people are weeping, too many are deceased
From unnecessary gun violence. Too many have been unjustly executed.
Too many egregious mistakes have been made. We need to see a STOP
Put into this nightmare, this quagmire. We need an end to this flip-flop.
Human beings are suffering and dying. Let’s not apply a band-aid
On this humongous wound. Let’s do our best to provide appropriate aid
To our serious and minor problems. Real people are being killed,
School children, churchgoers and shoppers are being killed,
We are not fantasizing; we are obviously not at the movies.
Our People are real, with human flesh; they are not dummies,
They are not actors; they are not all guilty by association.
The massacre of our innocent people must stop in this nation,
In this state, in this borough, in this city, in this town, in this school,
In this cathedral, in this church and in this community pool.
The mental and physical slayings of our people must END.
All potential perpetrators must look in the sand
To find themselves, reverse the role, think of being
A potential victim of racism, bigotry, indiscriminate shooting,
Senseless firing, ignorance and all sorts of sins under the sun.
We need to defeat the negative feelings that are eroding the fun
That God had put in our soul, and are destroying our natural gift,
Which is to love our fellow men and women. Let the Spirit lift
Us to a higher ground, to a more sane and comfortable pasture.
Let’s be human again, and be stronger, kinder and more mature.
The slayings of our beautiful must be something in the past,
Some crazy events in history, some horrible times that must not last.
Let’s free ourselves from negative emotions, let’s be free at last.
Let’s not be silent, let’s speak, and let’s tell it like it is at last. Alas!

Por el amor de Dios
Debido al resultado
No me sentí particularmente orgulloso
No, América no murió.
Tigres, leones, jaguares y hienas luchan y compiten

The Room Was Empty
I got lost coming home tonight
To my surprise, the room was empty
You were not there, sweetie
The bed was made and the floor was bright.

I miss you, I miss you dearly
The room was very cold and sad
Like a lover who’s desperate and mad
Frankly, my heart felt weak and empty.

Your shadow was absent
Your silhouette was inexistent
You were not present in the room.

One can easily hear a domestic silence
Which was afraid of bothering the broom
I’m lost again. I lost my common sense.

Our voices have been stymied, choked off, obstructed
Forever. Let every single vote be counted and tabulated
All must live up and adhere to the democratic principles
Let the vote counters do their jobs. The real exit polls
Are taking place now.Everybody's votes are important
Everybody's voices must be heard; we are adamant
About that. Let's the hard working volunteers do their jobs
We will have a NEW soon. Let our fighters use the big jabs.
Leave the indefatigable clerks alone, let them count the ballots
Stop the nonsense. Quit acting belligerent in the parking lots
All votes must be counted. Democracy is a meticulous process
Be patient. It takes time and resiliency to see and reap its success
Our voices must be heard. Democracy has its particular finesse.

Time Is Not The Enemy
Time has no wings
But it flies faster than bald eagles and fast jets
Time has no rings
But it is engaged or bound to ‘no safety nets’
And married with death.

We are all migrants in the depth
Of the valleys. We are passing by
Like the wind. No matter how hard we try
We will have to go
Like an unwanted cargo.

Time is nobody’s enemy
Be smart to lend a hand
To a stranger, for no real friend
Exists in this messy quagmire
Where everything is strange and dire.

We really own nothing
We are all living on borrowed time
We shall pay for the crime
Remember that we own nothing
Yet we keep on fantasizing and dreaming.

Time, which is not an enemy
Owns everything under the sun
And everything under the blue moon
FYI: Nobody has returned from Heaven
Not even the wisest angel of the deep blue Sea.

I Am A Poet
Hebert Logerie Oct 2024
I am a Poet
I sprinkle hearts
With verses, flowers
Rhymes and kisses
In front of this mute
Beauty
Which moves away
And that I ogle
Oh! Woman
Madam
God has opened up the Heaven
To meet and greet us
Two chalices of honey
Are near the oasis
You and I are going for a swim
In the middle of summer
And afterwards, on the beautiful pavement
We will go for a walk
What an evening of beauty
Of love, of peace
Of joy and gaiety
In front of the bay!

The Year Is Almost Over
Hebert Logerie Dec 2024
The year just started;
Yet, it is almost over.
Today is the second day of the year;
Yet, it is with anger,
Fear, impatience, and horror
That we want another year
To show up at our door.

Give ourselves a chance.
Before we dance,
Let's pray first,
And stop the frivolous lust.
Let's quench our thirst,
So we can enjoy the party,
And be more relaxed and happy.

What's wrong with human beings?
We refuse to take it slow. Things
Should not be happening like that.
Of course, we're going to be fat,
And ugly, if we're not being careful.
'Cause we gobble everything down in full
Force, like gluttons, like fools in the pool.

Take things easy, little by little,
Step by step, stop being frugal.
A year just ended;
Yet, it is with anger,
Fear, impatience, and horror
That we want another one to start;
Please chill out and have a heart.

The most beautiful proses or poems
Were divinely dictated by the Almighty.
I'm not immersing in some profound dreams.
Needless to say, I'm neither inebriated not crazy.

Believe me, just like the verses in the Bible,
Many poems came from the womb of inspiration,
However, the most powerful ones were scribbled
By the Spirit of a Higher Power through dictation.

After reading a few verses from some poetry books,
The words come out alive and move like sharks in hooks,
One can experience the very presence of a supernal being.
Poets of all style, in God's name, please do not to stop writing.

Imaginären Gärten alles, was passiert
In dem Land, in dem die Massen
Gefühllos und ignorant bleiben
Und wo korrupte gewählte Beamte prahlen.
Es ist sonnig
Es regnet, es donnert
Es ist Herbst
Vom Aufwachen bis zum Schlafen.

And I Surely Rhyme
At my prime time
I surely rhyme
I write countless sonnets
Like numerous poets
I tell it like it is
With everlasting ease
I remain calm and kind
To speak my mind
As a free man in control
Of my destiny, I play that role
On a daily basis with success
God grants me health and happiness
So far, I am blessed to be alive
I am lucky and I thrive
At my prime time
I weep because I am happy
And I assuredly rhyme
In front of so much beauty.

Bebe GG Nan Kay La
Hebert Logerie Dec 2024
Ti bebe GG nan kay la
Li fèt nan bèl mwa mas sa a
Ant sezon ivè ak prentan
Pa te gen okenn nèj sou gazon an
Men, te gen ti boujon toupre letan an
Ak yon nouvo lakansyèl nan lè a.

Ti bebe GG, tout bon, nan kay la
Li te akeyi pa tout fanmi an
Li gen yon souri ki klere tout tan
E deja li gen yon estil ki fen e inik

Translation of 'Baby GG Is In The House' in Haitian Creole.
Jean Pierre Basilic Dantor Frankétienne D’Argent

Bad News, Good News
Hebert Logerie Nov 2024
Bad news is swallowed
With a grain of sour salt
Good news is absorbed
With a chalice of sweet honey.

We’re exhausted and disappointed
We’re out of words and stamina
Hope is put in parenthesis for now
And we feel that the future is very far.

Bad news is goggled and spat out
Our saliva is dehydrated and dry
Yet, like old soldiers, no sacrifice
Is too great to face the future.

Unfinished Poems
All poems and proses are unfinished
Only those in sonnet are finished
Completed, done, and terminated
A poem or prose can still be edited
Revised, retouched and rewritten
A poem is a powerful tool or weapon
Leave alone my unfinished poems
These are my spices, my stars, my emblems
You don't understand their symbols
And the words used to fill up the bowls
You just have to read my poems ten times
To fully comprehend them. Ignore the rhymes
To pay more attention to the vernacular
They are not bizarre; they are just particular
They are not regular; they are unfinished
They are not strange, they are simple. Kabish!

A Right And Jolly Christmas
Hebert Logerie Dec 2024
I dream of a right and jolly Christmas
I don’t dream of a white or snowy Christmas
It’s very slippery and treacherous when it snows
To go to church, I wear leather shoes
And it’s easy to fall and get hurt
I don’t want to break your heart
By saying that white Christmas
Isn’t a fun or joyful time. But Midnight Mass
Is of course a joyous time. I love the Xmas carols
The gospel music, the decorations and when the bell tolls
I love a warm and holy jolly Christmas in the sunshine state
Where it’s dry, inviting and nice. It’s like being out on a date
With Mother Nature. The weather is not crabby or gloomy
The children are playing with their gifts and everybody seems happy
I don’t dream of a white or snowy Christmas
Oh ** ** **! I love a right and jolly Christmas.

Never, never tell a good Poet what to write about
Or what to say. The Poet always tries to be right
To be on the good and the best side of history
The Poet does not express himself for glory.

The Poet believes in justice, equality and opportunity
For everyone on the Planet. The Poet is free
Free; free to say it as it is. The Poet is naturally
Very calm, thoughtful, and acts accordingly.

The Poet is the conscience of the humanity
The Poet is a truth teller, a great story teller
The Poet fights for the underprivileged of the society
The Poet wants love, peace, and justice ring in every corner.

To be a poet is a gift from God so as not to be afraid
To write or put on paper the content of his/her soul and heart
The Poet gets up very early or sometimes goes to bed
Very late to parley with the Muse, who is very bright.

Never, never dictate a great Poet what to write
The Poet is perpetually at the service of humanity
The Poet is not afraid to fight for freedom, equality
Fairness and peace for all. The Poet learns to be right.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a Freedom Fighter.
Happy Birthday to you, my Brother and Hero!

Hell Is Here Again
Slavery is hell. Hell is back. Slavery is worse than hell
No freedom of speech! And democracy is neither cheap nor for sale
Hell is here again. Please listen to the first resounding bell
Hell is as terrible as slavery, a source of shame, pain, suffering and misery
For poor hardworking migrants who have crossed under infernal sunny
Days, hot and thunderous rainy nights, and dark cloudy sky
Many uninvited borders in order to reach potholes full of ice
And snow, where the weather is hostile, racist and deadly
God did not create our world to be so sinister and unfriendly.

Slavery is here again, where children are summarily killed
Where gentlemen are sissified and humiliated, where unskilled
Goons and henchmen are trained to be worse than wild animals
Where women are beaten and trampled like rags in shopping malls
Where rumors of inhuman atrocities are widely spread
To sow fear, fear which is as bad as living in real hell
And where young men and women’s futures are for sale
To the harshest and meanest detention centers or gallows
This sorry world has no future for people with so many lows.

Exploitation is hell. Hell is back, again. Corruption is hell for the masses in the crasse
For the victims of countless wars and for the desperate migrants who hide en masse
Rich countries wage major wars and let their proxies drop heavy bombs and cans
To destroy the fragile homes of the impoverished, unarmed and starved citizens
One wonders why some countries have a military budget so high and wasteful
Maybe only Satan knows why human beings cannot be too cordial or fraternal
And why factual rumors and actual animosities are so widely spread
Telling the truth always hurts bullies, tyrants, executioners and hideous perpetrators
While the uneducated victims behave like hiding zombies in the wicked corridors.

Bouncing Back
Hebert Logerie Nov 2024
Sometimes when you hit the hard rock
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! You must bounce back
Never leave without a tough fight
That’s the correct thing to do. That’s right
Always remain calm, positive, valiant and defiant
The sun, moon and earth are incredibly resilient
Never stop fighting until the last breath
Eat and drink well and protect your health
Your heart is beating for a good reason
Regardless, please enjoy the new season
Do not give up and never stop living
Keep on fighting; the sun is still shining
Many times when you hit the hard rock
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! You must bounce back

Never stop fighting the bad vibes.
Feliz dia dos namorados, amigos
É dia de cuidar uns dos outros
E dar as mãos
A amizade importa, o amor importa
Vamos aproveitar o tempo frio e soalheiro
A amizade importa, o amor importa

I love
And I really love
I truly love you, my love
A little less than the Spirit above.

I love
And I think of you, love
All the time
How I love to rhyme.

I dream of you, my love
Almost every night
That’s right.

I feel you in my main bone
When I am alone
And I truly love you, my love.

Freedom To Speak
When you're afraid to speak, you sell your rights for nothing
You sell your conscience, your soul and country for nothing
When you're afraid to express yourself, you don't subsist
You're no longer alive, you're dead, and you no longer exist.

Writers, poets, professors, professionals, teachers and students
Be not afraid to say something, to tell the truth, to tell it like it is
Language is the easiest form of communicating, say it with ease
Say it like brave beings and have no fear to face the elements.

When you speak, say it loud, with all your might, force and soul
Speak like a Hero. Be brave, be fair, be just, and be strong and bold.

Tu me manques terriblement

Don't be amazed by what I am about to say.
We all dream, like we all breathe. The day,
That we don't do so, is when we are no longer.
We're gone with the wind, done, and we are
Sunk, dumped in the quick sand; we died in the war.
We're nobody, deceased; and there's no future.
No more dreaming...

We all dream; nobody really knows where dreams
Come from. Dreams just happened, fled like steams,
Appeared and disappeared like the errant clouds.
We dream all night long, sometimes we remember
Them; most of the time we forget them. The crowds
Can't forget the star; like the chorus, and the master.

We all dream night and day, while standing or sitting.
We all dream while resting, but don't remember a thing.
We all dream of a better life, and a better spouse.
We all dream of a nicer car, and a bigger house.
We all dream of better days and a better tomorrow.
We dream of better health, more fun, joy, and less sorrow
And better everything and much better living.

Mistletoe And Xmas
Hebert Logerie Dec 2024
Mistletoe and Christmas go hand in hand
The mistletoe and its beautiful cherries
Christmas carols and bells, bright stars and pine trees
With light snowfall can create a winter wonderland.

What a spectacle of lights and divine beauty
The whole world celebrates awesomely
The birthday of Jesus Christ born in Africa
What a shock for the entire Diaspora!

Baby Jesus was different, that's why
From the crèche they wanted to sacrifice and crucify
Him, their goal was to **** Him like a goat
Which they did, but He returned. It's time to gloat.

The Messiah can be a subject of controversies
Deceptions, propaganda, polemics and inconsistencies
Oh! This is Noel, let's rejoice and enjoy the feasts
At least and at last in this joyous season, let's live in peace.
