What is poetry,
but your heart's voice
singing into reality?

It may seem like you are lonely,
but you aren't.

You exist inside of perfect love.
This truth can make you fearless.

This life can cause pain
But with it is gain.

You may as well push through
To where it leads to.

For it's where your heart longs to be:
Matured, grown, and more free.

Mankind was born
Once this universe was set up,
Designed by God
As a playground to explore.
I believe the universe
Will never get packed up,
And that when we reach the end,
There will always be more.

Reality is actually beautiful.
If you cannot see this,
You simply lack truth.
But that is not bad news,
For it is hope that you can
Upgrade your own reality
Every passing day
By discovering and uncovering
The truth bit by bit,
And therefore free your heart
From the small thinking
Of your old self.
I look back at my old self,
And I see someone
With small thinking.
I was afraid of reality
And angry at reality
But more and more,
As I am learning the truth,
I am falling in love with reality,
And what can beat that?!

Your reality reflects your heart.
When your heart is warm,
Reality is sweet.
When your heart is cold,
Reality is bitter.
Look after your heart.
Let God nurture it
And restore it.
Come and give it to him.
For it is not the location
Of your body,
But rather,
The location of your heart
That determines your peace.
Keep your heart alive
In the presence of your creator.

If life has a purpose,
What would it be?
Getting to know God
Before entering eternity?
Becoming someone God can entrust
With Kingdom responsibility?
Learning how to give ourselves
To loving sacrificially?
Training us for the future world,
Where God's children reign victoriously?
Building friendships through life's hardships
That nothing and no one can come between?
Accomplishing works and fulfilling dreams
That bring Heaven's joy to humanity?
I believe all of the above could be true,
As well as more I currently cannot see.

If poems were seeds,
How many could you plant
If you lived a full life,
And worked like an ant?
It would be amazing to have
Your own poetry forest,
Observing your thought life
Through poems clear and honest.
As this world is changing
And you are moving forward,
Don't forget to keep planting
Seeds to become your new orchard.

The future waits for you,
Knowing you will show up.
It sees you right now
In this old world,
This old era.
It finds you entertaining.
Watching the way you live
Thinking so little of the future.
But it knows you will arrive.
It just wishes you were
Aware of that right now,
While you are in the old world.

this world will spin
mankind will buzz
people will die
new eras will begin
our graves wait
pulling us steadily
with the rope of time
some long
some short
some very short
which could be you
so do not live
without this truth
in your mind
and in your
heart

The more I ponder my death,
The more attractive it seems.
Trading my last breath,
To enter the world of my dreams.
Waving goodbye to my burdens,
Blowing a kiss to my pains.
Closing shut life's curtains,
To be with my God who reigns.
But looking around, I think
This planet will do me just fine.
There are plenty of things I'd love to do
Before I grow old and resign.
With people and places to explore and know,
So much of me is happy to stay.
But just as much of me is happy to go,
That I know I'll be good either way.

This moment is fading for all.
Will your use of it stand or fall?
Time will tell,
But now is your chance
To look beyond time's moving wall.

Companionship is sweet.
People are beautiful.
I think it is pretty neat
That both are so available.

I would choose to have
one really good friend
over of a thousand mediocre friends.

People are a mystery.
They each have a history --
A story leading to now.
I can't help but question how
So many precious folks,
So many ladies and blokes,
Came into existence.
Unique, yet forming consistence!

Poetry says a lot about people,
Not just the person who wrote it.
Every person responds in their very own way;
Some so amazed they promote it.
I like to think of what goes through
The minds of those reading what I write.
Whether they recognize nothing of value,
Or whether they discover delight.

Black words pull,
Asking eyes scan each line;
Desiring they will win
Attention by their design.
Placed on a page,
One letter at a time.
Hoping as they age
They will more and more shine.
They are useless unless read,
Pointless till understood.
Hearts that see why words are said
Receive what is in them that is good.

Time is quiet, but deadly,
Pushing us all.
Neither angry or friendly,
A universal wall.
Converting future to past.
The present a thin line.
No moment can last.
Everything will decline
Into history's arms.
It takes it all.
It gives no alarms,
nor listens to our call.
It has death on its right,
And regrets on its left.
Act now with foresight,
Prepare for its theft.

If life had no adventure,
Where would this world be today?
So much progress would be lost,
Grand stories washed away.
Victories would be dimmer;
Friendships would be dry.
Courage wouldn't be needed;
Merely existing till we die.
I am so glad life doesn't lack
Experiences that come with surprise.
They give us challenges to solve,
Causing the hero in us to rise.

A day is coming
when you will be
on your last day
no time to flee
your entire life
ready to be sealed
packaged for the day
it will be revealed
to the whole world
each choice shown
you will reap whatever
seeds you have sown.

how are you meant
to know what to do
with this one life
which you cannot undo
there is so much
to this thing called reality
getting everything right
seems far from practicality
i'm doing my best
like so many of us are
i just need direction
before i travel too far

go to God
and be with Him
it always will
make Satan grim
for that is what
submitting looks like
giving Satan
no chance to strike
he is resisted when
you and God converse
one on one
in His presence immersed

to show up is what
counts
to be there is what
matters
so make that your
priority
even if the whole world
scatters

If souls are flames
then may mine
burn bright
tearing through
the darkness
of life's night.

if you could skip to the day
your dreams are finally true
would you be glad and say
i finally made it through
you would not say that
because you would know
you didn't have to combat
any struggles or undergo
the challenges that came
they connect you with mankind
you would quickly feel the shame
of missing the joy that can bind
your heart with other hearts
our battles join us as one
missing out on those parts
no great memories would be won
you would know you are a fake
and victory would lose its meaning
realizing skipping was a mistake
not as wonderful as it was seeming
be content living day by day
moments are sweeter than you realize
scooting passed time's natural way
is not as good as you may idealize

By sharing my poem on this site,
It is easy to lose what I write.
So focused on notification,
I forget all about application.
Even when I share this ink,
My automatic response is to think
Of how many views or likes it may get.
Soon enough my own message I forget!
May I never lose a poem again,
From now until forever. Amen.

the longing to be noticed is real
we all want our good to be seen
being acknowledged makes us feel
better than how we have been
whenever it stops to flow
you thirst for its touch
hoping it will show
after slipping from your clutch
if you would bring this desire
to the one who designed you
and allow him to inspire
you will no longer be confined to
relying on people’s praise
now swept up in a homlier place
you will be set ablaze
warmed in God’s embrace

What is homier than your bedroom?
Having God hold your hand.
What is cosier than your blankets?
God's promise forever to stand.
What is more intimate than your pillow?
God's thoughts of love for you.
What is more snug than your pajamas?
God's grace carrying you through.

Stewing problems leaves you overrun.
Doing problems perceives them done.

Fixating on tomorrow’s duty
steals you away from today’s beauty.
