-
The Earth sings as water coats,
both whispering with secrets
and languages long lost.
And upon both glides two
beings born on land, made
of water
Both are transient,
come death, they are vapor
while one's of God's water,
the majority are from
the Devil's
-

Seeing how we are made from water, and when we die we return to the dirt,
I can say we've all had our angel and demon moments.
No man's perfect after all.

Sorry guys, my headache seems to have worsened. Not only that, my sleep pattern is starting to get messed up, and my mind seems to be in that grey bubble. A bubble I somehow manage to pop but fall into...
Ugh. I hate this.
Anyway, I will try to update more tomorrow, I'm hoping my mind and head will be better.
Thanks so much for the support! 108 followers, man!
Thank you, all of you!

Fire in nymph's eyes

As lips feast on flesh

New day, new haiku!
Still not 100% but slowly but surely I'm getting there.
This haiku is for Echidna, also known as the Mother of Monsters, and one of the deadliest mythical creatures around. She is the wife of Typhon, a Storm Giant, and (depending on the myth) is daughter of Tartatus and Gaea or Phorys and Ceto.

She is known to have the upper body of a beautiful woman and the tail of a reptile. She became known as the Mother of Monsters because she birthed some of the most legendary Greek creatures, such as the Gorgons, the Chimera, Scylla, the Sphinx, the Nemean Lion and many more.

As terrible and powerful as she is, I find there to be a certain level of charm also. I wanted to picture a woman who is fiery, terrible, powerful and yet seductive and I hope I did so in this haiku.

Anyway, thank you all for growing followers, I'm forever humbled and grateful for the support 🙏🌹💜

Ego
Lyn-Purcell Jun 2018
Ego
We all have that desire
to climb high.

High enough to touch
the Heavens who watch
us through the stars.

High enough to look
down, admiring how
we got to that height,
with all the twists and
turns, stumbles, pauses
and falls.

Some have the chance of
being above the rest
earlier than many.

Those ones usually get drunk
on the power of being above,
never below. The head and
not the tail.

Their egos swell and all they
see, hear, touch and smell
are themselves.

I know because so many have
looked down on me from
above. And you know
what, I smile.

For one thing, you don't
know what sort of moral
compromises they made to
get to where they
are, which is why
I don't envy them.

Or if I do feel any slightly
envious, it's only for
a moment.

But one thing that I've
realised is that those who
get to the top, who look down
on me, who knock off the
crowns of arising kings
and queens.

Can't see what's above their own heads
and just as easily, they can crash and
burn.
This poem in particular is something I've been telling real good friends of mine for years. I realised this early and I've witnessed it first hand. At that moment, I didn't really feel envious for what people have. Although, I can't deny that I do feel slightly envious of what people do. Travelling, seeing the world, not having to worry about finances. They're stable. If I ever envy anyone, this is why.

I don't envy celebrities. I don't know what sort of sacrifice they made to get to where there are. There's no profit in gaining this world at the cost of my own soul. Not worth it at all. I won't ***** myself in anyway just to get a piece of fame. I believe that if I work hard, and with a lil luck, some hope and determination, it will come my way eventually. I'm not racing with anyone. I won't compete with anyone. I know better than that. I'm not perfect, I know that. So? I'm human just like you. I will mess up along the way. It's fact.
I won't pretend I'm something greater, knowing my flaws and faults.

Anyway, thank you everyone for all the love and kind comments.
You're all amazing!
Be back soon!

Come cries of new life
Signals the war of birthing
Hands held at your side

New day, new haiku!
This one is fot Eileithyia, Goddess of Childbirth.
Personally, I dont have any kids but I have been told many stories of how hard it is to go through, contractions and all. On top of that, I have read many tragic stories where the child lives but the mother does not.
Metaphorically speaking, it sometimes can be a difficult war to truly win as for some it can be bittersweet.
I wish all mothers, new and experience joy and happiness!

Amber-studded soul
Mane torn out when mad with grief
Blaze across the sky

New day, new haiku.
This one is for Elektra, one of the Pleiades.
She bore Zeus two children, Dardanos and Iasion.
I did read a variation of one of the myths, she was so grief stricken at the fall of Troy that she blazed across the sky as a comet. Another myth is her losing her son during the fall of Troy.
Either way, Elektra is a tragic character...,

Drink from Paradise's pools,
be cleansed and feel glorious
joy.
Lyn-Purcell Jul 2017
When one is treated
poorly, lesser than human
It becomes their truth

And it affects them
Crippling their good spirit
Stripping the colours

No matter the race
No matter what they believe
They are still human

Look at their beauty
That radiance that's within
Deeper than their skin

Black, White, Asian, Mixed
Yes, culturally different
But born of one race

We are all human
Don't remain blind in one eye
Embrace all of us
In a world of such tension, it pains me to see division...
The world becomes more and more ugly by the day. People forget thee beauty that is all around us...
Lyn-Purcell Jul 2018
Sitting here haunted
My thoughts are reservoirs
But they can be art

For I'm living art
Filled with emotional memory
Untapped potential

Pain that always drips
and aches as I age in life
But it helps me grow

And though I do love,
I am wrapped in hatred's thorns
Not all wounds will heal
I have changed, but some things don't.
Undoubtedly due to my ambition and drive for stability, I do tend to hold on to the hate that was put in me long ago. And it is a pain that I have had many in my life denounce as something insignificant...
Some part of me wants to let that hate go, but the other part is afraid to.
I just count my lucky stars that I'm still here.
This headache is just reminding me of my wounds and scars.
But this is a conduit to which I can let it out.
Thanks everyone,
Be back soon!

Let love blossoms once again

End

End
What is it we all fear,
reflections in the mirror.
We can't escape fate,
the end is getting nearer.
I'm feeling a lil off today, so I listened again to Tupac's 'Who Do You Believe In' and this part in particular stood out to me. Tupac wasn't perfect, but he truly was a gifted man. To me, he is and always will be the Greatest Rapper of All Time.

One became two at one point.
I think I was caught up.
Maybe I did love at the time,
Maybe I didn't.
Looking back,
through the ripples of time
Back over
730 days...
I see now that I
was only in love with the
idea of love.
I wasn't as clear as the ocean.

I was seen
A soul who thought she had a
stone heart.
And common sense instead
of emotion
A mind over the song of heart
strings
When you love, truly love
You trust and protect
But in truth, you're merely
cutting open your chest
Letting the blood flow
and cupping your beating heart
Trusting someone not to return with
a knife.
I was stabbed there
And the knife was further twisted
When you and your friends
laughed...

Relishing in being single.
Apparently, I have phallophobia

And you announced this
on social media
while
pouring salt and lemon juice into
my wounds...
That's when a glass broke in mind
Love left me blind
Realization made me wise
And I walked away

My limp gone
My scars bare
My eyes dried
Instantly

And a year later,
After the slander,
You message me
Asking for friendship and that
we should catch up
Like everything was OK

Even if I was naive enough to agree
What's there too catch up on?
Honestly?
When you've proven to be
untrustworthy
undeserving
and conniving

You can wait for as long as you want
Till my last breath,
I won't look back
Every chapter closes
You just realised too late

The heartbreak gave me wisdom

Ladies and gentleman,
if you have an ex,
Remember this

Ex = Experience
Ex = Example
Ex = Expiration

And don't ever feel succumb to the
temptation of getting an EXplanation
For anything.
There will come a day
when your head asks
"Do you care about them still?"
and your heart will respond
"Nah. Couldn't care less."

You, heartbreaker, are
at the end of the road

Face
The
Ex=it
Keep moving on. Its OK to look back, don't get trapped by it.
Everything happens for a reason.
Even if this happened over 2 years ago (which feels like forever ago tbh),
walking away made me feel so free in the end...
