we love each other with all our hearts
and who could ask for more?
but when you listed your favorite girls
i was only number four

i'm not mad at you for loving your aunt
and i encourage you to love your mother
but you also put your favorite music artist
before your own lover

and i know i'm overreacting
and fourth isn't even the worst
but it still pains my heart
because on my list, you were first.
this was my 34th poem, written on 10/21/23. my ex asked me to rank my fav guys, and so he was number one, but I was number four when he ranked his fav girls. when I expressed my sadness to him, he said that he meant number four as number one, and his list was backwards. like uhmmmm ok

I was given an award at school that day
And a friend mocked me, thinking there was no way
Someone one would choose me for being kind and smart
And then I showed my friends my award
For once them not seeing me as absurd
Until a friend ripped my award apart.
this is my 63rd poem, written on 12/6/23. I had to throw the award away because it was so messed up :((

to the little bird on the side of the road
i’m sorry i crushed you to bits.
i thought you were just so pretty
that i held you in my soft palms
and crushed you
until my hands were stained with red.

to my friend with the little black curls
i’m sorry i gouged your eyes out.
you see, i thought that i could get lost in them
and since i wanted to remain focused
i dug my nails into those sockets
and ripped them out.

to myself, as i write this,
i’m sorry i tore my heart out.
it was beating far too fast
beating far too lovely
and i left a hole in my chest
because i love myself.

to a name i refuse to say ,
i’m sorry you hurt me.
i’m sorry i hurt you, i mean
you left me… untouched
but since i loved you, loved you so very much
i let you go.
if you love something so much, you will be able to let it go.

When you decided to leave
We shut each other out of our lives completely
You changed your "About Me" to quotes to help you grieve
And when I finally thought we were through
You changed your quote to "I loved you too"
Which messed up my mind completely
Then you changed them to song quotes
And you put little hearts around it
I thought you moved on, so I ignored it
I thought you fell in love with someone else, letting me be
When I looked up the lyrics, knowing they had to be about me
And I thought you were silently asking if we could be friends
So I decided to talk to you again
And you spoke dryly and ignored me again
And that was my last attempt, so I decided to move on
And now you decided that I'm the one that's gone
So what now are you trying to achieve?
You lost the one that stayed when you decided to leave
this is my 67th poem, written on 12/10/23.

I cried myself to sleep
Saying nobody would ever love me
If only we could be
I wouldn't have to weep

Then my wish came true
But I should've been careful what I asked for
My love life now isn't a bore
But now, I don't know what to do

I've started talking to a new boy
And I told him I didn't love him
And that only made him act grim
Treating me like a toy

And he asked why I wouldn't date him, because he was so great
And I felt guilty because I had asked for love
I had been embracing my freedom, like a pure dove
But that didn't mean I wouldn't date

I just don't want my happiness to be a lack
But the most you are to me is a brother
And my heart belongs to another
Someone that will never love me back.
this is my 45th poem, written on 11/11/23. sighhh I was so dumb

I thought that we could always fall together
But you told me you wanted to fly
So I watched you realize my hand, float up to the clouds
While I was still falling in the sky
this was my 40th poem, written on 11/3/23.

Did it all mean nothing, just wasted my time?
Was it all worth something, something I claimed mine?

The people I’ve met and the journey I’ve been on
Did the friendship really set, from dusk till  dawn?

From setting off fireworks on top of the school,
To happily acting like a fool,

From what I’ve learned and to I’ve bought,
There’s been a growing guilt which I have fought

What did she mean when she said, “The dark side of this place”?
What will, in the future, will I face?

Helped others but still felt the presence of wrath,
How do I know that I’m on the right path?

In the past I knew it was the eye of the storm
“I’ll find out the unknown,” I have sworn.

As learning is the only thing I find entertaining,
But in terms of my enemy, reality, there’s nothing I’m gaining

So, I look back into the past, scavenging for advice,
I hope in the future I’ll learn to think twice.

You're like a vampire, and you drained me to the core
And when you **** my blood, I don't give up a fight
But I see how happy you look when I'm dying
And that's why I continue to come out at night

After a dark, gloomy period
The days whipped on by
It was sooner that I thought that
Someone new has caught my eye

He's like a fire, one to admire, so much better than me
I went up to the clouds because I swear he was sent down from above
I waded with the whales to get to his island of love

I swear he is funny and extremely smart
I fear the day that we might be apart

I'm scared to love him
And I'm scared to not
I can't even form a normal thought

There's no need for imagining
Because us two, we'll do everything

I waited for love to catch up to me
Turns out, it's already here
this is my 94th poem, written on 4/26/24. yeah this guy ******

There are so many new events in my life
But I keep forgetting I can't tell them to you
I'd give anything to hear your comforting words one last time
Oh, if only things would be fixed, repaired to new
I would have so much to tell you.

I believe we are all stars, and we grow and grow
And we expand until we must blow
And even the brightest, biggest stars in space
Must eventually go

And throughout time
We distance ourselves from our core when in our prime
So when the biggest stars explode, they cause a supernova
And they die to start a new lifetime

Does ignorance equal innocence?

The sun is a lie; the truth is here, inside
Yet you refuse to take your sunglasses off

He has forever treated you kindly
"He's innocent," you say
I show you the proof against him
"He's innocent," you say?

Take your sunglasses off
They're protecting you from the truth
You are ignorant, you are blind
You are living in a lie

Don't let his warming rays touch your heart
He's trying to trick you
He'll warm it up until it boils
And you still wear your sunglasses

He never harmed you specifically
"He did nothing wrong."
I tell you what he did.
"He did nothing wrong."

Does innocence equal ignorance?

You all told me how sorry you were
But what are you apologizing for?
You didn't do anything wrong
So why do you say, "We're so sorry!"
I've heard these words so much they've turned into a blur
So what exactly are you sorry for?

he tore, he wore and ran to me, and tried to eat my brains

the sun and fun that came before, were drowned out by the rains

he left my guts spilling out and a hole inside my head

he left my heart spilling out and left me lying dead

the life that once was part of me had been turned down to scraps

it melted down and seeped out through the earth’s loving cracks

he crushed my light pink lungs and i gasped out a last breath

he gouged out both my eyes, now with the haziness of death

he threw my body to the lake but i floated to the top

blood spilled out of my body but i floated to the top

few citizens of the town saw me floating away that night

but they didn’t report the body, too much of a sight

they blamed me for the fact that i was there, floating dead

they assumed that it was me, with the hole inside my head

upon my blood full of justice, fully full of red

upon my eyes full of revenge, fully full of dead

"I am a part of you,"
Is what I say to the waves below
My eyes, the same shade of blue
As the ocean's tide glows

I taste the salt in my mouth
As it drips from my swollen eyes
The same salt in the whale's spout
That in which the ocean lies

From the lighthouse I watch the rocky shore
And my eyes leak more and more
What more could I want of me
Than to be part of that glimmering sea?

I do not even exist anymore
As I sprint across the rocky shore
I collapse into the shimmering sea
Because a part of them is a part of me

The townspeople call me crazy
I'll prove them all wrong one day
I still taste the salt in my mouth
I think I am fading away

The sun is setting on the beach
And salty tears are running down my face
I connect my tears with the water
And disappear without a trace

Stars appear in the night sky
Reflecting on the sea's blue
Below the waves, you'll find me lie
Am I finally a part of you?

A bird sat on a ledge, calling for air,
“Please, give me merely a share!”

A breeze came and lifted the bird off the ground
The breeze ruffling the bird’s feathers was the only sound

Every day, the bird decided to sit and wait
The bird was drawn to the wind, perhaps even fate

The wind always listened when the world did not
The bird had found something it had always sought

Then one day, dark clouds came and rain poured down
And the wind lunged forwards, without even a frown

At last, the bird saw the wind’s true power
The bird wanted to hide, but the wind didn’t let it cower

The wind ruffled the bird’s feathers as it had done in the past
The bird took off, flying ever so fast

Then the storm passed; the rain was gone
The bird looked at the sun from the ledge it was on

“Wind, let me once again soar!”
But the wind replied no more.

Like a tree whose roots are forever taking
The nutrients in the soil, ever shaking
The branches of mine never breaking
And yet I still cannot grow

You put me on the performer's stage
So you can get your lousy wage
And write my name on your contract page
A never-ending show

An airport, where to exit you have to pay
And they're so close, yet so far away
Like a phone call you forgot to take today
So leave a message at the tone

Like a turtle racing across the shore
And a robot's still heart at its core
A bird's long-gone partner soar
Forever stuck alone

You
January 30, 2025

I will write today. I will write about something totally abstract, but the knots will untangle and form a photo of you. I will try to ignore you, I will try to not write about you, but today, I will fail.

September 28, 2033

I will have forgotten about you for many years, and on this day, when I go to write a grocery list, your name will flow out of my pen. I feel like a fire when I think of you.

June 22, 2056

I will remember you today, and I will be okay with it. I will think about you with a smile on my face, and I will be content.

June 16, 2091

Today is the day I will die, and when seven seconds of my happiest moments are flashing through my mind, I will not see you once, and I will perish with a smile.
Ego quid verus amor sit cognovi, et nunc vidi te nihil dedisse.

then he put it out.
They called him a "hero."
You know who this is about.

Years of being ignored, seen as a no one
As I watch you and your friends always have fun

Why must you get all the spotlight?
Why must I still give more, even with all my might?

Constant yelling is all I’ve heard
Being seen with me in public is absurd

I’m always discarded, just an outcast
Now, all those times will be my last

She saw me as human, didn’t ignore me
Now, how long till you also see?

I want to share that spotlight with you
If only you allow me to

I also deserve the friends you’ve bonded with
I won’t make this just a myth

Does this mean I’m a bad person?
Does this mean my jealousy has worsened?

Now you and your band begin to sing
But I’ll no longer be watching from the wing

I want the people who left me to see my face in the streets
I am the face of all people in the filled up seats
They'll hear my voice in all the songs they play
I am the wind that'll show them the way
They'll hate that they'll see me in their afternoon tea
They'll drown when they see me in the swimming sea
I'll come back to haunt them, day and night
I'm the ghost in the fog that gives them a fright
They'll feel stuck, trapped, haunted by me
They'll hear me with every song from bird or bumble bee
They'll finally feel just a little remorse
And try to find me in every book and resource
And on days when the sun has gone away
I'll be the thunder in their mind that will forever stay
For every tear they made me cry, I'll make them cry three
So cry me a river, lake, or sea
I'm just a spirit following them from behind
I'm just a phantom, invading their mind
And with some time, they'll think I'm gone
And they'll peacefully look over their house and lawn
And they'll admire June's scorching sun
And they'll think they've finally won
They'll think no part of them is shattered and rotten
And when they can finally stop living their lives in fear
I want them to hear my voice echo in their ear
this is my 80th poem, written on 2/4/24
