Summer sunset
MsAmendable Jun 2016
And the sun begins;
Hot damp rays which
Glow in the morning,
Glaze in the evening
And blaze in the afternoon,

And dusk begins;
of feathery air and fireflies,
Hot as firey amber,
Cool as a sea of Shadow
Growing long as day grows old

And the summer fire fades;
Long red rays dip below the sea
The cool blue air like water
Drips through the open windows
And sets cool hands on fevered flesh

The early
          Summer
                        Sets
In a blaze

     And night becomes the world

Orchard for angels
MsAmendable Jun 2016
Sighs on the trees
Planted where angels go,
Tremble like the leaves
That left so long ago
MsAmendable Jun 2016
The stormy shore does blow
With all its wind and might
Then waves will crash
On rocks and splash
All throughout the night

***

Frothy waves tremble uneasily,
Seasick on the rolling tide
Shaken waters, choppy waves
Stormy seas on oceans wide

***

The troubled sea rolls in to shore
To bash along the rocky floor
And brushes quaint, the fishing boats
All of which no longer floats

***

The waves beneath my feet
My feet upon the pier
Day grows short, the end draws near
And dance along the rocky shore
For ever and forever more

***

Sea birds fly like kites
Soaring through the gusty winds
Sprayed by sea, they dance
In stormy revelry,
their wingéd fins of feathers
hoist them higher than the sails
Of ships, or spray of whales

An old friend
MsAmendable May 2016
I felt the first kiss
Of a pain so familiar,
I welcome the loss
Before it begins;
The knife in place
I mourn my pace
Too soon, I cry,
Too soon.

Return
MsAmendable May 2016
I have been gone
For many years, it seems, and yet
The days still flow like rivers
And the light still fills your dreams
..
Where shadows lay, across the way
That I had once forgot
And still the fires alight the pyres
And all the evil to rot
..
I heard the tales the beggars sing
It sounds like home to me,
I have been gone for many years,
Now run, to set us free

Sensation, perception
MsAmendable May 2016
As I age, the world unseen
Comes to light,
And the way I'd been
With wonder, cease
For now I know reality;

Curious, how time does fade
Naïve questions with a wave
Of insight, yes, and somthing more,
Of jadedness, we watch the score
But not the game, the point
is not the point...

Questions fade in custom-made
Tiny starbucks coffee cups;
A tired dog won't think like pups
For they have seen the world

Words
MsAmendable May 2016
Words flow like water
Brushing past my fingers, quickly
An unobtainable river
But taking the drops from my palms
Dipped in the tide
I shake a precious dew
Hopefully settling
Into some thing,
Some great being of vastness
To drink, drench, quench even,
It's multitude of worries
and curiosities
To flow in like an ocean,
Setting wonders in motion,
And healing animosities

Introvert in quiet chaos
MsAmendable May 2016
I'm a socially awkward person
Who comfortably pretends not to be;
My friendships are so spotty, I'd be dotty
To delude any of them not to be!
Although, its true, I have no foe,
But who would be my friend?
My silence is my shelter,
When the chaos never ends.
Yes, I haven't posted for a while...doesnt mean I wasn't writing!

Cynics, it's June again
MsAmendable Apr 2016
Cynics, it's June again.
The heady scent of lilacs
from distant spring lingers,
Releasing you to the blue skies, that are
Ensnared in the reedy tree fingers,
The shadows all cower
From the light, bright in her eyes,
Carefree days fall as a *******, and
Released, you can chase the wind, for by then
Cynics: it's June again
Not sure how well I like the second to last line grammatically... It feels right though haha

Stars
MsAmendable Apr 2016
I wait upon the morning star
Beneath the sullen trees
And from the lonly wind I hear
A bittersweet melody

Well, it was a voice, truth be told,
A maiden dressed in black
And as she turned, and stood I saw
The tears fall down her back

I knew she was crying for the star,
The new one in the sky
Perhaps hers would keep mine well,
Though old, it shone nearby

Beneath the trees I met her,
The willows weeping too,
Side by side, she and I cried
While the world carried on its tune

Freudian
MsAmendable Apr 2016
I took a class in psychology,
But who could ever hope to know
The inner wanderings of a lost soul,
The mechanisms making you tick,
You, conflicting conundrums and
Cautious contradictions...
You have classically conditioned my mind
To fumble over your chapter,
With your classical ways..
Heuristics never applied to you,
You are Freudian; hopelessly undefinable
And impossibly right
Heuristics are problem solving devices, like a shortcut, instead of taking the long way around

Waterfall
MsAmendable Apr 2016
Tumbling and roaring
Froth-water came soaring,
To bash on the rocks below
Up, it rose as hazy mist
And on my  face, a dewy kiss,
A gift, to let things grow
Rainbows, bold with golden light
Upon the splash, its glowing bright
The tumbling and the roaring Might
Goes crashing down below
A river, wide above it crawls
To the edge of gushing falls
Then cascades a crystal show
And on the floor, beneath the trees
Goes gushing on towards to seas
And I will watch the water go
Will watch the water go

Come and be my light
MsAmendable Apr 2016
Die with me.
Shed your tears on mine,
Seek comfort in my darkness, fine
Let me take you
Make you and shape you, never wake you
Come lie with me
In my bed of hands to lift you to starry Skies
Please, realize that my eyes
Are for you, and you are mine
My self, my divine
Dry your tears on me, you see?
You'll be my life and I'll be your home,
Come die with me..
Please, don't let me go alone

We are the people
MsAmendable Apr 2016
We live in our soul,
Our hope makes us whole
We grow with our mind,
But grow weak with time
We bleed from our skin
But die from within
We came into light,
Then we fade into night
We may drift apart,
But love with our heart
..
And we are the people
We change, and are equal
We learn, love and live
We cry, hurt and forgive.
And forever, as we strive
We are the humans,
We will survive.

Numb
MsAmendable Mar 2016
My jaw is frozen
Ice and fire creep up my numb face
Circling my eye with gentle hands
Tingling across my stiff lips
They call it 'filling,' but when I touch it
It feels invisible, empty
Unreceptive or responsive
Numb like dead feet
What a curious feeling
That numb is
I went to the dentist for my first-ever filling, and can't get over how weird the freezing feels

And puddle at twilight, in gold on the floor

Water
MsAmendable Mar 2016
Taking two hands and a soul full of hope,
I hang over water, the seaweed like rope
It's true the sun sets not long from its rise,
But I've waited all day to see your true eyes

Of things you can see through; glass, air and me
The lies you've been told, still you can't see
So come to the water, where I hang like a cloak
And together, us two, we can mend what we've broke

The unbearable smile
MsAmendable Mar 2016
The bitterness of knowing
You do not deserve sadness,
As though pain were a prize
You have not earned, and yet
The knife in your heart, and life
Pouring from your eyes to this page
Beg to differ,
But with a world that has earned sadness
And I, who has just stumbled blearily
across it, like a feast for my hungry soul,
Stay bitterly and undeserving,
Guilty for tears
Without reason or right; a smile
Is the simplest lie, but cloying
When you have no right to be hurt
It is unbearable, that smile
That rests on my unbearable lips

Hello, my friend

I have found it at last
It is bright and warm
    And strange
I do not know what it is,

Nothing hurts here, it's nice.
Tell mother it's okay now, I'm okay

I think I'll just stay awhile,
                And rest...

Right now, might stop
And leave the world in dreams;

Sweet human child
In the water and the wild
Taste the berries picked with glee
Join the brazen revelry,

With the waves we sing and sway
And will take you far away
From your past

Come this way, my sun

MsAmendable Feb 2016
The sun falls swift as an overripe cherry,
Lighter than air, it still laughs like a fairy
Warm and wet and juicy and red
Along the horizon it slowly spreads.
Tossing up splatter to stick to the clouds
Filling the sky, its sweetness astounds

Then washed away by crisp starry rain
Silvery ice that soaks through your veins.
And each sweet day, and every night
The lights fly away, and out of sight,
But surely my dear, to beautiful eyes
Sunset sweet always brings sunrise

Spring morning, rainy day
MsAmendable Feb 2016
One morning,
When the sky seemed to be falling,
And rolled around the swirling grey fog,
I stepped out with my eyes, and saw
The most hopeful green peeking from the mud,
the rain poured into the rich earth,
The dark soil ready to take in more life,
It smelled alive, the rain tasted like hope
And that small green became the world
When I smiled at it, and it smiled back.

Love in the daytime
MsAmendable Feb 2016
My heart in the morning is a sweet little thing,

She flies free and wild, and happy, and true
