There Was A Kind Poet Called Donna,
With pieces as vintage as the Madonna;
She had a thing for nature's Echo
Decoded in her magnificent Haiku
That unforgettable Poet called Donna.
I still Miss Donna, she taught me so
much about writing and living

SHINE AFTER SUNSET
Ignatius Hosiana Aug 2015
An artist doesn't stop loving the art after he has painted
The sun doesn't stop to shine after the sunset
Neither does breathing cease after we've fainted
Nor jungle cacophony after Elephant silencing his trumpet
The road doesn't end when you reach a destination
The moon doesn't give up It's glow when blanketed by clouds
An answer doesn't end it all, there's always another question
And loneliness cannot be evaded by hiding in crowds
Out of sight doesn't always mean out of mind
Going uphill doesn't mean life will never *****
Walking down your road doesn't mean you ain't blind
Sometimes the blind lip of faith doesn't necessarily require hope
So it doesn't mean I'll get over you when I finally move on
The wounds always heal, but the scars live on

Walls & Bridges
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2016
When we start building Walls
Amidst neighbourhood woes
neighbours we encouraged to construct
their homestead close to our doors in assurance
of a strong shoulder on which to lean in times of adversity,
you definitely know the wines we call Wars
are brewing somewhere, walls are just a wine cellar
Divisions are the bottle to the wine seller
We once built bridges to unite the world
that peacefully lived as a divided entity
That's what happens in times of crisis
Some build walls to quarantine the endemic
while others choose to build more bridges
even if it means risking an entire generation
for we were once a world without boundaries
neighbourhood miseries were our miseries
their laugh was our laugh and their cry was our cry
We sung a single anthem in unison without a sigh...
always wait for drums of war to judge who is true
wait until then to know who honestly loves you
Henry the Navigator might carry the blame
but Britain spearheaded globalisation as a country
Now that we are here, ready to leap into her lap
she's closed doors,
Britain is for Brits, the rest of the world is for us All...

AIN'T NO GOOD IN BYE
Ignatius Hosiana Sep 2015
FOR Mwima Zubair Naser*
(Gone too soon, when still in bloom
In the line of duty, what a pity)
In memory of you I'll always cry
I won't stop no matter how hard I try
Why do you have to promise
And then just pass on like this?
Especially when you are all gone
Leaving us in this world on our own
Did you have to leave this young
When I lack any beautiful speech
On my saddened tongue?
When the ball is still on pitch?
You had Samson's courage
Like a car with shocking milage
Did you have to go when I need you
Did you have to evaporate like morning dew
From the fragile petals of our youth
Did you have to join the boots?
It isn't fair to go when I cannot send you off
When I haven't condolence,not half a loaf
Did you have to go so soon
And leave my heart out of tune?
Say hallo to Wilber and the others
The thought of you all really bothers
I've never been one to say goodbye
And saying it will all be but a lie
To me you still breathe and live
That you're gone I cannot believe
I hope you made it through
And all these rumors ain't true

GRASSHOPPERS AND CROWS
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2015
I reached safely where you sent us
It's a lovely place for any traveller
Problem is the people who came along
Those you said should be my brothers
They're bad & insert tubes in the heart
To **** out every little bit of our blood
We'd be brothers if only we connected
God you believe we're Hoppers and locusts
We should be but some became crows

These people have hearts of scorpions
And ache to fight and spread their poisons
Their loathing is deep and their hearts hard
They laugh by face and frown inside

There's one with joy filled to the brim
Simply because my pockets are empty
His heart finds peace when we're troubled
And end up clamoring for their assistance
They set traps everywhere, up and down
They rip us and are hungry, yearning to bite
It excites when you're helpless and despair
It's comic to them watching your struggles
They never remember when you helped
They celebrate when they see you dying
They already have me painfully manacled
My pains are flooding their hearts with bliss

These guys have hearts of scorpions
Which ache to bite and spread poisons
Their loathing is deep, hearts hard
They only laugh with their teeth
Yet they are frowning deep inside

They are worms inside the gullet
Slowly ******* and ******* pretty hard
Forgetting if their host dies they also die
Those are the people we live with
They have machetes in their cloaks
Hidden,so we think they're carrying babies
And get our ignorant necks real close
They are out here ready to betray us
That friend of yours you truly love
One you're breaking a piece of bread for
Is responsible for rumors that all you eat
Is stolen, and the one craving your defeat

These guys have hearts of scorpions
(I'm scared)
And ache to bite and spread poisons
Their loathing is deep, hearts are hard
They just laugh with their teeth
But they are frowning inside

My papa wanted a Doctor from his son
But I wasn't one for Biology and Chemistry
Then he told me to try Engineering
But couldn't cope up with Geometry
Then he said I could try literature
But I was one with the opposing nature
Anyway I gave up the trigonometry
And in literature I met prose and poetry
It's a place where pain turns to comfort
Where I have opportunity to dirt every page
Whether I'm at peace or burdened by rage
It's somewhere I can go to evade fear
Or see my future even if it ain't clear
And even though my mood swings are rampant
It is a place where I have all the might to fight
And turn every dark corner of this world alight
My Papa in giving me the world gave me everything
A place for heart beats and mind reminiscing
For this place ain't just my Earth, It's a galaxy with her Sun

Invisible
Ignatius Hosiana Jan 2017
I don't want to be alone anymore
I need someone to share with my dreams
someone who can see my invisible tears
one who'll hold my sweaty palms when am shaken
and drowning in volatile oceans of fears
Someone to remind me that hard times do not
mean by the world am forsaken
I need someone who'll hear my silent screams
who'll understand my emotions to the core
to remind me to stop on the second beer bottle
they say the moment's a picture so I need someone in my photo
someone to cheer my cause, as I can always lift the load
thrown at me by karma, I need someone to listen
to help me find every piece to my heart that's missing
I need a friend beyond the lines of proverbial friendship
for now I believe I can manage romantic kinship.

It doesn't have to be a fairy tale, 'long as it's a tale that's fair
all I crave is someone who'll try to always be here
You don't need to be perfect or as sleek as the dawn
I just want someone too... to call my own.*
Am free falling from the sky of desolation
and hoping yours are the arms that will catch me
because I want you to be in my future, my definition.

POETS ARE WARRIORS
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2015
Their voices echo along the threads of time
I read their works on tattered pages
They say their words did but rhyme
Their's were for inspiration,not wages
They told stories like real witnesses
Of agonizing times and sicknesses
The soldiers of their sweet narrations
They say rode on horses of generations
Triumphant over the trend, glorious
Shooting arrows past lineages,like warriors
They fought against pride and Prejudice
Across boundaries, winged like Pegasus
They flew to bring merit of words and lines
And stood the test of time like wild pines
They used sharp words instead of swords
Only received rejection ,sometimes nods
Walked long distances,endured perspiration
Sleepless ,so to cultivate some inspiration
They were young but with mature souls
Their relentless effort vividly like Moles
Burrowed through even hardened hearts
And with needles of kindness stitched cuts
Finely weaved justice on paper like Mats
And spread it for the world, across all parts
When speech was hated and persecuted
They stood strong and instead recruited
The course of changes threatened to slay
Erosion corroded letters worse than clay
Their beautiful hearts where kindness lay
Were battered and butchered causing hope to decay
A season came when all was but a lost cause
And were tales of how once upon a time it was
Yet again like a phoenix someday they rose
From the ashes of history, how? Nobody knows
They were stronger and mightier than mortals
And travelled through un fathomed portals
They built a very powerful mental kingdom
Above the prestigious tower of wisdom
Where they reigned like the fires on doom at Mordor
Freed so many prisoners of their situations
Across the entire universe and her nations
Gave them keys so they unlock more doors
Stanzas crawled like maggots across all avenues
With mixed feelings the world received the news
Though were skewed to embracing the return
Because for once they saw a flame of peace burn
Their tears were wiped by every piece they read
Poets let them realize war wasn't only in their head
Reason flowed like waters in fountains and streams
Readers believed once again in their dreams
And like poetry and poets they didn't sit back and cry
Every poem they read, sad or not told them to get up and try
And when they finally got victory over their inner strife
Not even once did they forget poems changed their life
Don't know why I wrote this one, just bumped in my head

Long Gone
Ignatius Hosiana Aug 2016
Babe I hate to even think soon I'll be long gone
that destiny's a painter and the art is bold drawn
it hurts we have to part now that we're all grown
it's a sting we waited for this moment only for I to leave town
hurts that I can't change it, cuts I needs a bandage
***** harder than *******, cause I know that you won't manage
our happy song's now a dirge, unreal like a mirage
who'll get me to my feet when am parting with my clutch
me frowned at the news but none could listen to my views
guess I'll always end up trapped in a wrong place
always emerge a victor in a wrong race
I tried to appeal but karma won the case
what else will be scenic like dawn clutching to your dress
I hate to lose that smile cause it's a milli not a mile
and

I'm aware....
when life takes me away...
Tears may come your way...
Babe hope you know I pray...
That you don't cry for me...
Please don't cry for me...

I pray you find warmth in some other way
Can't promise we'll still feel us from a million miles away
but I think I'll think about you every other day
never doubting your love, that I totally swear
I'll be present in every moment albeit I won't be there
when your skies are clear and when the skies are grey
I'll be the silhouette somewhere twixt your heart and soul melting
the snow of your confusion and fears to keep your existence at bay
Please don't cry, please try...
try to think about us without a tear
try to plough your way through the fear
don't be lost in the Sea of loneliness
Hope are the sails, life's a boat to steer
Am not saying you should bottle up the melancholy
it's alright to breakdown at such doldrums, it's okay
I just wish sadness was food that you'd ship for me
or an ***** I'd mute the speakers, or stop to play
I wish life was a symphony, so that we choose harmony
I hate that the sad song of our looming reality is in production
and that it will soon be ready for karma to play, with such affection
I loathe that you're bound to listen when we're missing
I hate that I carry this worry to the hay role right from kissing
and this affection's starting to feel more of a curse than a blessing

*Cause I'm aware...
when life takes me away...
Tears may come your way...
Babe hope you know I pray...
That you don't cry for me...
Please don't cry for me...

IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2015
I don't want an umbrella
I just need someone
To hold my hand and walk
With me through the rain

I need no pain killer
I just want someone
To stay ,one to talk
To till I'm past the pain

I don't want a fairy tale
I just pray for someone
with whom our story'll end well
Someone to make me love again

Tears
Ignatius Hosiana Apr 2016
I no longer weep because you left
for I have you in pictures safely kept
where lies few memories I can't recall
and others hidden in depth of my soul
no longer weep because you're history
that happened, it's no more mystery
you're still a big contribution to my rage
but I can't keep living my life on the edge
I no longer whimper, that's the past
a sweet first that wouldn't be my last
a beautiful bird my love couldn't tame
tears changed nothing, it's all the same
I ceased to pray for the cracks to heal
memories are treasures none can steal
they say,all I've done is echo the voices
I've given up second guessing my choices
can't keep chasing after a past my heart craves
mourning the forgotten dead lying in cracked graves

THE STRIVE
Ignatius Hosiana Aug 2015
I remember the first time I said hello
The evening sky was funny blue
But the Sunset was somewhat mellow
And to tell the truth I hadn't a clue
Of what I was upto speaking like that
Thought it would exasperate
But instead you laughed from the start
While I went on, and I felt great
I've met a lot of girls in my endeavors
Yet meeting you was my favorite
Straight away you did me no favors
But yes, that was just alright
I realized you were a thing worth the strive
And winning you over after a longtime,I felt alive

ALL LIVES MATTER
Ignatius Hosiana Nov 2015
Treasure every breath you make
It could be the last you take
Treasure the lake, sail the sea
Little beauty left in the world to see
Treasure even the stranger by the boulevard
You just can't tell the much that person's endured
Treasure the road even if you doubt where it leads
For the beautiful scar,a wound bleeds
Treasure the clear sky and the clouds when they come
It's not everyday we go through storms and find calm
Treasure the dusk as darkness creeps in at nightfall
As you treasure the Sunrise treasure the fall
Treasure the trees even after they've lost their leaves
Treasure kindness like everyone gives
Treasure humanity like all other species don't matter
Treasure every person and treasure the latter
Treasure the world as family probably we might find peace
Treasure all the time you spend like the cash you borrow
Treasure yourself like you cherish that first kiss
Treasure Today like there's never gonna be a tomorrow

You go for more or settle for less
Run after them or go at your own pace
You can climb higher and higher
You can always get what you want
None should tell you that you can't
If you can proceed, you shouldn't retire
You can soar higher than the sky
You can poke your limits in the eye
Ahead lies a wonderful reward
Go for it, focus on moving forward
You can change your little story
By constructing yourself greater glory
Navigate the icy unchattered waters
You can go beyond the definate borders
Nothing about their words matters
You can disapprove your doubters
You can hit the spot, if you truly aim
You can change the rules of the game

AN ADDICT
Ignatius Hosiana Feb 2016
It's an addiction but he can't admit
Yet that's the first step if he's to quit
my brother is addicted to gambling
it's eating his life away
Ignatius Hosiana Feb 2016
My heart will never cease to bleed
I'll never stop thinking about the life they lead
My soul will keep aching for them in need
toiling for another half a decade due to them with greed
my eyes will never cease to see their deed
and ponder why did them,God have to seed
my feet are tired of wishing they could go an extra mile
maybe take some gunfire, burn for my country man to smile
my back is broken by the weight of my rage
it's a fire that isn't dying out, will I ever turn the page?
I'm stuck in a labyrinth of contemplation
wondering what other illness awaits my nation
besides ignorance, illiteracy, corruption, tyranny and fear
& much more, yet I still appreciate hailing from mid the sphere
There's a throb rooted deep in my mind
pondering what on earth could make one so unkind
I hope someday to injustice I'll be blind
I hope a day will come when I'll leave behind
these whys, hows, whats and whens like it never was
I hope time heals all wounds as the saying goes
otherwise I believe the cut is deep and infested
by the loathing for everyone who stood by a government
we badly wanted away and a system we detested
I've tried to have the pain excreted but it's all digested
it's overdue and getting me dizzy due to the ferment
the memory is fresh, the election a forgotten torment
to some but to many like me it's here,it's every moment
it's that grass thatched house at angle theta or beta
it's the agony of the teacher, doctor & whoever's bitter
it's a sting worse than a cut by a banister's wrong splinter
it's the south pole in juxtaposition to winter
it's that malnourished barefooted child battling a jigger
it's the starving, and those plagued by poverty with food but meagre
from my position this wasn't a loss to the opposition
it was a golden chance ripped off the feeble hands of the next generation
a robbery in plain sight, hit below the belt in our fight
my fingers will never tire of typing about this plight
for the crested crane was shot midway her flight
fooled to go to the polls and defiled worse than a little girl
my prowess will but always demand for a piece
about the day we totally lost the beautiful pearl
and thence not a single heart ever knew true peace
not the losers as we have been falsely accused
but worse, not kigundu and many more who were used
For God and My Country Uganda
(please sorry if anyone is bothered... it's just a hard time and only this way can I truly pine)

An Adulterated Chalice
Ignatius Hosiana May 2016
Don't wait till I'm tired to encourage me,I won't move on
Don't wait till I'm crippled to tell me about miracles,I won't believe
Don't wait till I'm frozen to warm me,I won't appreciate
Don't wait until I've stepped the trap to caution me, it won't help
Don't wait till I'm shattered to tell me I can be whole, I won't listen
Don't wait for me to yawn to give me food, I won't eat it
Don't wait until the treasures are depleted to tell me if I dig I'll find
its useless to tell me passion will drive me insane after I'm out of my mind
Don't wait till I'm famous to praise my pieces, aren't you seeing them now?
Don't wait until the Antelope has turned tail to hand me the bow
Don't wait for the birds to fly off the tree to hand me the catapult
Don't wait for me to step on the live wire to lecture me about vaults
Don't wait for me to slip and fall to tell me the place is slippery when wet
Don't wait until you've wronged me to preach "forgive and forget"
Don't wait until I'm in flames to tell me not to play with fire, bury my ashes
Don't try shutting stables after they're gone, instead run after those Horses
Don't wait until I'm soaked to give me an umbrella,I won't accept
Don't wait for the storms to wreck me to show me how to sail
who can listen to instructions while battling waves and hail
Don't wait until the snake has stricken to tell me about the venoms
for a dying man has no time and ears for caution then on
Don't wait for the war to devastate and ruin to preach peace
bombs would have deafened or the machetes cut me piece by piece
Don't wait for me to plunge to ask me if I've worn a ******
like a kidnapper freeing hostages prior demanding for ransom
Don't wait until I've dived into the Sea to ask whether I can swim
Don't wait for the end of days to find out whether I believes in Him
Don't wait until I'm bleeding to tell me about the beauty of scars
or until a clear night to praise the beauty of stars
Don't wait until I'm malnourished to bring me aid
until I'm dead and gone to praise the words I said
Don't wait for my life to flood to dredge the silt
that wouldn't be kindness, that would either be mockery or guilt
Don't wait for me to find someone to feelings for me admit
Don't wait to offer a helping hand when I'm totally deadbeat
why wait to raise a wall when you can fill the crevice
you have something to do, to instill, to say, to caution, to give
do it now while I smile, while I'm strong, while I live
Don't  speak about the adulterations after I've drunk from the chalice

CROSSROADS
Ignatius Hosiana Sep 2015
Yeah, I'm at a point where I'm handicaped by fear
When stimulant sadness clogs my eyes but can't shed a tear
A point when I'm afraid of both the future and my past
Feeling tethered to bad karma, feeling cursed
Stuck in this minute with the clock ice paused
On the fringes of life where all doors are closed
And heated so that not even opportunity can dare knock
Seated in the quiet of the noisy silence watching the clock
Frozen to a single moment yet seasons are ticking
And there're signals that rest of the world's moving on I'm picking
I'm living like a ghost that died a million years ago
One whose owner ailed of an incurable syndrome pride
A disease born of a blood ******* vector called ego
One from which the wondering soul's holder died
I'm at a point when I ask myself why I was born
When It's clear I have to work my fingers to the bone
But not even myself can get me to my feet to start the journey
I'm at crossroads, and I know I have to choose
Because I've got rest of my life at stake, everything to lose
At now, and thing about now is knowing the actual value of having money
I'm at a point when a have to make the big calls, hold or move on
Keep being a cry baby or put the badass pants on
Looking back to the age when I was afraid of Gekkos
And it's how I feel calling out and feedback's my own echoes
I'm at a point where I don't need spectacles to see my mistakes
Yet it still feels like I'm not ready and haven't what it takes

THE CRY OF A PATRIOT
Ignatius Hosiana Feb 2016
I suddenly don't know who my friends are anymore
But I know who has never been, isn't and never will
You're not my friend if you think our whimpers propaganda
You're not my friend if you're not in support of a proper Uganda
You're not my friend if you opposed our
struggle till its seemingly dead end
You're not my friend if you think we shouldn't grieve
You're not my friend if in yellow rule you still believe
you're not my friend if you're still blinded
even after so many are hurt and lives ended
you're not my friend if you sung a song in praise
of he who won't our teacher's salary raise
you're not my friend if I reminded you of the Hospital
and you said them sick suffer for the love of free things with no remorse at all
you're not my friend if you've stuck to his support
simply because he fills your wallet while the rest are emptied,
you're not my friend if in this sad time you feel relief
you're not my friend if you forgot about the *** holes
the uncertainty that characterises the air all over the country,
you're not my friend if in your heart melancholy isn't,the despair
you're not my friend if you don't mind the pauper on the street
the emptiness of our capital competing with that in our hearts
you're not my friend if you don't think it badly hurts
you're not my friend if as long as your Porsche you drive
you don't mind about the state of a country
whether your neighbour's child is dead or alive
you're are not my friend if everything you wish for you have
and you don't give a **** if others starve
you're not my friend if you're contented with the shaky epicentre
forgetting that when the centre is shaky things fall apart
you're not my friend even if the politics ended
for my friend you weren't right from the start
you're not my friend if you've played part in steering us to a wrong course
against the pleas and cries of the despairing concourse
you're not my friend if you're the reason country man lies in a casket
in exchange for a piece of the national cake in your basket
you're not my friend if you believe in steady progress
even if you're my brother, whilst rest of the country lies in regrets
you're not my friend if you are against the people's choice
for the people's choice is the people's voice
You're not my friend if your government military deploys
dubbing the shout of our plight unnecessary noise
You're not my friend if you're smiling while we cry
in darkness as sunshine lights your home for you own our sky
you're not my friend if you forgot about those studying under a tree
you're not my friend if you still think we're free
You're my enemy if you're an enemy to my friend
You've wounded this nation by standing by the olden trend
you're an enemy to the state and so you're my enemy
you're not my friend, for God and my country
you're not my friend and that I will never forget traitor
no,I will remember through every January to December
I will remember even after you forget, centuries later
...So sad indeed

I don't even know how that place looks like
I won't promise you comfort, it's not something we often find
It can't be all smiles,no, there'll be a tear
I won't promise to always face the monsters, sometimes I will fear
I can't promise I will never let go of us
even if you are in too deep and too dear
I can't promise I'll always hold you tight
Before I retire,how can I be so sure that I won't lose a fight
I won't promise you an umbrella each time it'll rain
some things we can't predict, they happen time and again
I can't promise I won't drive you crazy
there's a **** along the road I will be too distracted to see
and hit the breaks too late and you'll madly scream
"OMFG we could have died", you'll hate the bumpy ride
I can't promise I'll never break your Heart
what the Hell would I be thinking while promising you that
where would I find the guts to think you'll never get hurt?
I can't promise the road will always be straight
even rivers bend and you're not some fish I'm trying to bait
I can't promise it will always feel this awesome and perfect
we won't forever be together from Sunrise to Sunset
things will change, time is a continuum
I'm just stating facts, stuff that happens, don't be upset
Romance is a trip,we won't always have the money
that makes beginnings entertaining
we're now focused and looking forward to the adventure
imagining how colourful the ends of the promising rainbow are
wondering what awaits at every stop on our map
we've spined the globe, made up our minds and changed them
at the moment we're flexible, life's just a game
we can kick the ball this way and that way, we can afford to kiss all day
we're having a good time and it's tempting us to think we have control
I'm on the driving seat and I guide the wheels as you laugh
the car is filled with gasoline of faith and amour
crazy but I think you could kick Angels out of a beauty contest,
your heartbeat is loud enough, especially since I'm listening
and my ears are still vibrant because the centrepiece is still in place
they haven't been deafened by the many love songs we're going to play
and the wax of doubt that will collect in them overtime
the centrepiece will be eaten by termites of familiarity
and guess what, things will start falling apart
our feet are still clean,we cannot predict the dust they shall gather
the perfumes are still fresh on our Suits like the antiperspirants.
the elevators will always work, we think,
not knowing someday we will even fail to find a ladder, how sad
the wings of now, the hot *** that sends us sky high
comes with the chains of tomorrow, the responsibilities
the kids who'll make us careful while rolling in the hay and exasperated
and we'll forget the pleasures, thinking romance is exaggerated
when our minds are blocked by their wrangles and cry
that's the perspiration, that's when the muscles will start aching
that's when our freshness will be lost and we'll stink
the adventure will **** and the love left will all be but faking
Love is just a song, yes let's enjoy it while it's still hitting the waves
time comes when it'll be like the desolate Dead in their cracking graves
I'm not saying we shouldn't enjoy the moment, no
all I'm saying is we shouldn't count on the moment lasting forever
and forget the challenges awaiting at the end of the honeymoon
the burning sun at noon, the dark side of the moon
I'm not saying we shouldn't kiss violently till our young lips bleed
we should,we should feast on the moment with greed
after all nothing can stop karma from taking the lead
let's fulfill all our youthful adventurous need
let's smell the flowers before they wilt and lose their scent
explore the jungles and know how it feels like spending a night in a tent
Let's dangerously walk along the edge of the world, on the fringes
let's vigorously open new doors whilst many still bear rustless hinges
let's drink till we can not remember our names
wines and even the millet brew while our youth carries its fatal flames
for a time will come when these smooth skins shall be tucked
and these two magnetic Hearts will be ******
I just can't promise simply because now feels worth forever
happily ever after is a sugar coated and tasking endeavour
I am going to promise nothing, nothing is enough
nothing will ever be,my dear, nothing lasts forever
But I Love you forever,in case forever's a metaphor for now
Dreams and fantasy keep us intact
but if they're the centrepiece
and reality sets in
Things definitely Fall Apart

Start From Within
Ignatius Hosiana Jul 2016
You want change the world
start from within
To change and make her better
now's time to begin
you want to see her clearer
look deep within...
Ain't better way to cut your coat
than using your cloth

what other way to cut your coat
than according to your cloth
why go on proclaiming love
yet all you do is loath
why preach forgiveness
while you keeping grudge and hate
to change the world
about yourself contemplate
those who greased their
are the one's you congratulate
lending best to the worst
taunting worst of the best
you give a test
you've failed yourself
dish out weapons
and expect to be safe
poisoned this dough of humanity
and you call yourself a chef
so if

you want to change the world
start from within
to change and make her better
now's time to begin
you want to see her clearer
look deep within
ain't better way to cut your coat
than using your cloth

you want to stop the drugs
you gotta stop the dealer
to stop this corruption
truth should be your pillar
so sick a world
Jah should be your healer
work it like you talk
walk your talk
don't put down your ***
and keep saying you're broke
Rasta never laughs
at such a joke
don't give up
even when twixt
a hard place and a rock
you can change the world
if you act your word

you want to change your world
start from within
to change and make her better
now's time to begin
you want to see her clearer
look deep within
ain't better way to cut your coat
than using your cloth

Drive
Ignatius Hosiana May 2016
Luck's not when the *****
too start to lay and hens to crow
No,that's a miracle...
Luck's when all the eggs laid by the hens you adequately fed
hatch after incubation...
Take charge of your drive...
focus on the wheels...
Luck's a hitcher you give lifts
on your way to success
she tends to walk with miracle..!
Ignatius Hosiana Mar 2017
Sometimes
A page has to be flipped to find another chapter
some doors have to shut for others to open
tears have to be shed if a soul is to see laughter
a road has to reach the end for another to begin
a generation has to be phased for another to takeover
war has to be fought (peace lost) for peace to be found
sometimes
men rise when others fall, a hole is dug to fill a hole
a fight is started to win a fight, all it cost... to win it all
some lead to follow and others follow to lead
sometimes the chills from the rains of greed
cause the greatest of shivers
when Augeans are clean and ***** are rivers
sometimes
equilibrium is reset by living on the edge
and to know freedom we have to be bound
sometimes calm's plucked off a tree of rage
and for a people to be whole, a people have to be torn
so death has to happen sometimes for life to be born
Sometimes
to find heaven we go through hell for it don't have to start but end well
as savagery brings-forth civilisation, unity's found in the arms of session...
sometimes the loudest of riots are what a people in silence says
as the darkest nights are sometimes recipe for the brightest days

FIRST & LAST
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2015
Your first love's that person on the prologue of your love story
Your true love's the minor character at the start but the epilogue of your glory
Your first love's the one who leaves tears where there was laughter
Your true one wipes those tears and lives with you happily ever after
Your first love's the one you trust at first sight and doubt at last
Your true love's the one you doubt but ultimately fall and wholly trust
Your first love's the one you think you'll never forget in your lifetime
Your true love's the one not worth remembering but you never forget
Your first love's either the
first person whose heart you break
or the one who breaks your heart
Your true love's either the person
whose shattered heart you heal
or who heals & steals your hurt
I know sometimes first love can be true but
Your first love's most times the fantasy that drowns the sailor
And chains but true love's the reality you finally settle for, your "bailor"

MY IDOL
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2015
If you asked me whether I love music I'd say I do
But there's none that inspires me like Dido's, she's my idol
I have almost all of her songs, such a charming voice
I guess It's one of the reason she's my first choice
Ignatius Hosiana Apr 2015
I now realize I'd forgotten how to be sad
But is it something for which to be glad?
When I feel shattered and all my emotions are displaced
Don't know how to show it, I'm trying to do
my best
My tears are escaping yet big boys don't cry
We didn't do our best that I can't deny
But my heart still refuses, It's totally blue
How broken I feel none has got a clue
Every game you go in for is a possible loss
Just accustomed to wins, not being knocked out by draws
An Island, can't find a single shoulder to cry
on
I dread David Luiz but I appreciste he's a daring lion
I have love, I have a place in my broken heart
I have love for my team, the reason behind
my hurt
I know we didn't do enough from the start
How do I tell that to my stubborn blue Heart
I dawned on my Fabregas shirt, I was smart
The end did nothing but break me apart
I guess that is love, in even soccer
Love is like playing dice or poker
No matter how heartless you try to be
It will still ultimately sting bad like a bee
Hate being the one whose journey has ended
If I could, would have just after all pretended
I'm drowning deep in my emotical sea
But win, draw or loss, I love my club, I love
Chelsea
Because I know much as I feel so alone
We're a big blue family and together we
mourn
I just love football and this team and this is what it felt like on the night PSG eliminated us.

WAR
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2015
WAR
Is out there on our own lovely streets
In the souls of those the world mistreats
In the roughing waves threatening to wash us all
In the despondence of the **** victim's unanswered call
It's that long journey without a clear destination
It's the desperate cries in the broken heart of every nation
The heartbreak caused with no intention
It's the one without an answer,I mean the question
War is that desperate pregnant teenager attempting abortion
It's the *** slave in a foreign country up for auction
It's the slum child fighting with the bursting river banks
It's in the mind of the soldiers riding tanks
Doing what they can to rise up the ranks
And evade taking more innocent lives in mega chunks
It's the hopeless immigrants drowning on the mediteranean
It's the nuclear threatened Iraqees and Iranians
It's a *** hole forcing the driver to swerve and lose control
It's the tears of the fishermen catching nothing for days in their trawl
It's the worries in that littl'un fearing darkness
The priest's daily prayer, battling temptation, human weakness
War is another name for the famine eating the tribes in the arid north
It's the thought of a refugee mother whose child's got stunted growth
It isn't the opposite but the total absence of peace
It's a robber who loots everything, including bliss
It's a nightmare to the leader stuck in a seat
And the zealous opposition unaware of his inner heat
It's a hustle by the team which can't admit defeat
It's the struggle of an accident victim trying to regain his feet
It's in the believer's hope to see Jesus return tomorrow
Right before the entire globe sinks in ****** sorrow
It's the worries of a father who's spent his entire adult life unemployed
The uncertainty for a recruit in a war zone, just deployed
War is the puzzled gambler pondering suicide when he loses the little he borrows
It's the pastor wondering wether or not to dive in and save the drowning morals
War is that person perturbed, wondering why the hell he was created
War is all the choices you made and regretted
War is a three letter word, with a long meaning
Which some say is the only reason the globe is spinning
All are at War Them who are in Struggle
But there's no struggle that can't be overcome
Dedicated to all victims of War and struggle, happy to say I'm one of you

PUSH TO SHOVE
Ignatius Hosiana Jul 2015
How can we make love yet we haven't made peace?
How can I feel your heartbeat without leaning in for a kiss?
How will the bicycle of conversation be ridden
When you act like mere parting your lips is forbidden?
How will we profit from this affair when we cannot break-even
How can you ask me to get over faults without being forgiven?
Have you ever had a serene night since we last met
It hasn't been easy on me,could be a similar effect on you I bet
How can we stop the arguments and the fighting
When we still got lots of skeletons in our closets hiding?
How do you make it through the day
Knowing you're too busy to make out?
You force me out in the night and I obey
Claiming you don't want to get caught
At 21 when the Hell will you exude some pride
In having me as yours without having to hide?
You say you love me more than words can explain
Wondering why I don't believe you and sounding so plain
How dare you say we are tailor-made for each other
When all you do is expand the little rift twixt us further?
How do you feel while convincing me that you care
Well aware that you're always away and never there?
How do you do it? Lie and believe your lies are true?
Where do you get courage to smile midst all your putting me through?
To be continued...

Is coming that I know
but I wonder, is she aboard
a Tortoise or a Snail?
Otherwise why
would
she make us wait for
three decades, doesn't she
know life is too short,
and some of us don't
have much time left...?

THE MERCIFUL BUTCHER
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2015
Her soft spots were really soft
Yet that discovery made me hard
I faintly touched them ,she hopped
And seemingly in pleasure she sighed
She gazed skyward to the stars in prayer
As I kissed her neck in a fashion so rare
Initially there was no having a taste, she'd refused
But not after my magical touch had her diffused
Under the warm moon as I kissed out her yearning
She died of the passion she was learning
Sapped her control and she was losing it
Her hazel eyes glowed like embers freshly lit
Under the gorgeous little Jack fruit tree
While she begged me in whispers to set her free
Free like when her lustrous monster wasn't active
Then I realized I was a chain holding her captive
Every stroke made her **** for it felt like lightning or fire
She wasn't given lectures on how to surf the waves of desire
Despair in her eyes said she needed to be freed from the prison
Thus I slowly untied the chains of my lust but it felt like treason
To me,but I couldn't go on devouring without her ease on
She didn't deserve being butchered and eaten in a tree zone
So I just rubbed her slowly as she regained her equilibrium
Kept my whip tightly locked like it were dangerous uranium
She apologized for spoiling the all spicy night
I could tell that all had changed to regret from fright
When a gentleman let it easily walk away
But I was sure her dear goat would of course
Be devoured treasure it though she may
She couldn't keep it forever, but she could delay the loss
Virginity in my Country is nicknamed "Goat"
And sorry if you hate this kind of poetry, I like all poetry :o

A PIECE FROM MY HERITAGE
Ignatius Hosiana May 2015
I want to trend
Not in modern but in the good ancient my friend
I want a candle; candles up an earthen chandelier
I'm tired of the tick tack of the modern switch
I want the moon and stars like life was earlier
I'm done with bulbs which when old start to twitch
I want a type writer to capture what I write in my book
I'm tired of computers where all I do's Facebook
I want to revert to the quiet life of my ancestors
I want the warmth of watching the stars
I want to eat beef steamed in Earthenware
Beef with the touch of smoke and of love and care
I'm tired of the modern meat whose source is never clear
I want a meal served hot on her knees complemented by millet beer
I want a home, a real home with an artful grass thatched house
A traditional home with a hound for me and a cat in case of any Mouse
I'm fed up of the modern roofs which roast as if we're pork
I want an affair that's free of silly social media talk
I want a place she and I can have peaceful evening walks
And her eyes not having to watch out for cars
I want someone simple enough to pride in her scars
Open and proud of her weaknesses, one laughter sincerely chokes
I want someone whose thighs will be warm hidden
Someone who won't dare do the forbidden
Not one who'll go at dusk and return at dawn
I want not a queen for that will make me her pawn
Someone who'll give me a massage, not send me to the parlors
One who's content and natural, not painted in colors
Who’ll together with me do laundry, not a laundry machine
I want someone who'll be contented with the little beard on my chin
I want a life like that of my grand father
Small family, moderate success, a wife who isn't a bother
I want a simple life that will give even my enemies peace
I want Africa; I want a bit of my heritage, just a piece
I want that life frozen in sphinx and sculpture
I want to busk in the glory of African culture

I CONCEDE DEFEAT
Ignatius Hosiana Jun 2015
I guess that's the final straw
The one last time I see your brow
I guess that is the end for us
The end to this blessing of a curse
I should have seen it from start
One of us would end up getting hurt
I should have seen with my mind
Knowing love is heart, heart is blind
That's what one reaps when one saws
In a wrong field, hard blow to the jaws
Should have just told me you had him
Instead of letting me keep the dream
Should have said It's down the stream
Better than pain,massage and cream
Should have told me to man up & gym
Or walk away 'stead of causing steam
Explain, how you could face me & lie
Rather than watching you cry
You know I cannot stand your tears
I avoided them through the years
It's too late to cry, what's the point of it
He succeeded but you caused the heat
I hope he's better than me in every bit
I'll bury the hatchet, I concede defeat

I concede defeat, I concede defeat
I concede defeat because you
never thought me fit

I concede defeat, go on with your pete
I concede defeat,
**** I concede defeat

You've had my hopes punctured
You've had my jaws fractured
Had my bloating pride raptured
Broken my heart, cupid archered
Don't explain I'm so angered
It's me you had endangered
Dude is a gang member
With bullets in the chamber
Imagine he'd taken that shot
If I had retreated not
You took a chance with what we had
Didn't know forgiving could be hard
Guess all of it is charred
Whatever it was we shared
Cause if you had really cared
Couldn't have had me beat for dead

So I concede defeat, I concede defeat
I concede defeat
And I hope you find him fit
I concede defeat, I concede defeat
I concede defeat so I guess this is it
Crazy moments when I listen to a good beat and I try to rhyme
