A dying art
Crystal Freda Jan 2019
Why is poetry dying
when we still have the gift?
If we still have water
then we still have a ship.
We can sail to the places
these words take us.
We are still shaken
by the words that make us.
Why should we let poetry die
when there is so much to explore?
If only people read it
and discovered more.

At sunrise,
our eyes meet.
At sunrise,
sand tickles our feet.

At sunrise,
I embrace your hand.
At sunrise,

At sunrise,
we lay on the beach.
At sunrise,
the sun is a shade of peach.

At sunrise,
we watch together.
At sunrise,
and onward our lives forever.

Sea urchins in the sea.
Sea shells on the shore.

Purple is in the pen that writes.

Life is a beautiful thing
Crystal Freda Apr 2022
Just look at your life,
it is a beautiful thing.
You wake up every morning
as the blue birds sing
and the day is beginning.

You may run into problems,
but those help you grow.
Watch your mind expand rapidly
as you embrace life's flow
and you let things go.

Every mistake is a chance
to show who we are.
We may explode like comets
or shimmer like a star
and we'll see how far.

You are amazing and incredible
no matter how many mistakes.
You were not a misfortune,
you are a rippling lake
to new destinations you'll take.

Embrace all the new opportunities
you'll have in this life.
You may make many mistakes,
but you'll be all right,
just keep being a light.

Somethings may have a new beginning.

So keep hoping

Whimisical Winter

A winter breeze
brushed against the tassels

She breathed in
the misty, wet smells

Her mittens tickled
the warm, scarlet wool
padded in her pockets.

Winds back and forth
against the snowy trees
rocking large  snow deposits.

She smiled at the
mushy, muddy tracks
her boots evenly made.

She bunched up
a big ball of powdery snow
and in that she played.

There were two little cats
whose job was to chase bugs and rats.
Sue was frisky. Lou was was lazy.
Sue would chase things with glee
while Lou would rather sleep softly.

They'd sit on the porch.
Sue would light up like a torch
waiting for prey to arrive.
Lou found sleep as a way to survive.

Their owner was an older woman
who would pet them with her soft, wrinkled hand.
She was proud of Sue and Lou
for all what they could do.

Now the old woman didn't know about Lou.
That sleep was all she would do.
Sue thought Lou was no good.
That she shouldn't get what she should.

They were fed the same
and attention that came.
Sue didn't understand
why they received the same love from this woman.

The old woman sat on the porch swing.
She would pet Lou as she'd sing.
Sue came in.
She was determined to win.

The old woman picked up Sue
and continued to pet Lou.
She petted the two
and told them she loved them for what they could do.

She said to Lou, "I love you when you sleep."
She said to Sue, "I love you even with the rats you keep."

"I love you for who you are
even as I am an old char."
The cats cuddled with her
despite how different they were.

God made each person beautiful in their way.
Please let them be something one day.
Women, you destroy the life of someone to be.
You just took away somebody's destiny.
To pregnancy, don't think it's just a maybe.
Women, why can't you think about your baby?
Why abortion should you do?
What if your mother did that to you?
Beautiful people begin as cells.
They may not be pretty at first but oh well.
They grow to be pretty, clever, and smart.
Why can't people just have a heart?
Abortion is ******, and you should know that.
I don't care if you don't want to get fat.
Babies should be cherished and loved.
Don't you want that from God above?
