let it bloom again.
Nilia Loh Mar 2021
The flower that bloomed during storms.
The flower that bloomed not in lawns.
Everywhere else, than the time at dawn.
But let it bloom again.
This time when the sun rises,
Away from the jungle fires.
Let it bloom again,
At the perfect environment.
Then, maybe,
Just maybe,
It'll grow into something beautiful.

Antarctica
Nilia Loh Jan 2021
It feels like I'm at the top of the mountain,
Unable to breathe again.
My body says it's cold,
Trembling uncontrolled.
I can't look at you,
I can't remember.
What was I saying again?
Oh right, I'm not in Antarctica.
But why does it feel like it?
Where exactly am I?
It must be Antarctica.
I feel like passing out,
I need to get down the mountain.
I feel like I'm dying.
The air must be thin,
It must be -29°C,
I must be dying in the cold.
That's why I can't breathe,
That's why I'm trembling,
That's why I feel this way,
I must be in Antarctica.

Inspired
Nilia Loh Jan 2021
Why are you so cool?
How do you do all those things?
So elegant yet strong.
So simple but you stand out so much.
So gentle and kind.
Just another human being,
Yet so unique on its own.
I want to grow up to be like you.
A wonder woman like you.

Onwards
Nilia Loh Jan 2021
The brief wind that blew the storm away,
Made space for the sun to awake.
A moment I can take it as my own,
Yet so fleeting it was blown.
Back to this storm I must bear,
my crown of strength I will wear.

Marigold
Nilia Loh Jan 2021
Do you know your eyes glow like sunflowers?
Golden under the sunlight,
A reflection of your heart of gold.
Do you know your smile is as warm as sunsets?
Marigold hues,
Chased away the blues.

Oh dear marigold girl,
Don't be disheartened.
Your warmth that is neverending,
Melts the ice in this world.
So dear marigold girl.
Don't stop loving,
because this world needs it most.

Dear 2021
Nilia Loh Jan 2021
Will you be well?
I am unable to tell.
Your number is ugly..
But I hope you're bubbly!
Let's be friends,
Though it'll end.
And play hide and seek,
So that I can take a peek.
Full of surprises,
All under a disguise.
Let's do this one more time,
This time I'll make you mine.

body of war
Nilia Loh Jan 2021
Eyes with no soul,
The body that took a toll.
Tears that carry the cries,
Evidence of her demise.
Arms that aren't clean,
Covered in open seams.
Legs like waterfalls,
Blood from the endless war.
Hands with scabs that tell,
All the scars a cry for help.

I Am A Fish
Nilia Loh Jan 2021
Born on 20th March,
A fish without much.
Hoping to bring waves,
To clear out the maze.
Dreaming for bigger waters,
But still stuck within a bottle.
"Someday i'll surf big waves!
And not end up in a grave..."

Trauma
Nilia Loh Dec 2020
Ghosts dancing Infront of me.
Again and again, I want to flee.
Stained memories,
Please hear my plea.
Let me forget when I count to three,
So that I can finally be free.

Routine

One time each time,
Thinking when is my time.
Each breath a crime,
It tastes like lime.
Can I stop this time?
Stop breathing by bedtime.

Alone

I'm alone.
Nowhere to roam.
Always on zoom,
Hidden in my room.
Waiting for flowers to bloom,
Waiting for my doom.

Edge
Nilia Loh Dec 2020
Raised voices like an echo through a horn,
makes my ears get pierced with thorns.
little humans that shriek all the time,
gives me shivers down my spine.
All the cars that sound their horns,
chased away my peace until is gone.
All the sounds that i could hear,
makes me feel like death is near.
My heart seems to race endlessly,
chased by fear relentlessly.

Comfy
Nilia Loh Nov 2020
Oh so comfy, seeing you everyday makes me smile.
Your warm texture wrapped around me, bundling me up like sushi.
My comfy resting place, I do everything here.
You caught my tears and drools, and listened to my cries and laughters without complains.
You allow me to rest on you everyday, even when I mess you up.
Oh my comfy bed, you won't leave me, I know you won't.

Mistaken Sculpture
Nilia Loh Nov 2020
Oh just a sculpture on display.
I was made by no ones name.
A nobody, an unknown.
I can't talk but I could hear,
getting judged by exterior.
Hurtful judgments, I'm not a well made sculpture.
But all I can do is just listen all day,
but how I wish I could show and say.

Dye Day
Nilia Loh Nov 2020
Stirring moods just like making cakes.
Tiring noons just like taking breaks.
Tearing up in the late of night.
Breaking down in the dawn of light.
Like a rope up in the skies,
Like a hope down in the dyes.
Dyeing my hands with dull colours,
Dying in days I've never been.
Like a knife straight up my neck,
Like a mice straight down my deck.
Nothing is clean, something is seen.
Spotted red dyes, spotted dead eyes.
Something I've decided, to end it prescribed.
A very old poem i wrote like two years ago?

I'll Lend You
Nilia Loh Nov 2020
I'll lend you my eyes,
So you could see the rays of sunshine.
I'll lend you my heart,
So you'll know how much you're loved.
I'll lend you my ears,
So you'll hear all the good things about you.
I'll lend you my arms,
So you'll feel all the hugs people gave.
I'll lend you my hand,
So we can get through this together.

Sunshine
Nilia Loh Nov 2020
Where you cried I grew a flower,
My dearest farmer.
Your crops may not grow,
And the storm is growling too.
It's been ages since the harvest,
And now you're the saddest.
I'll grow you flowers,
All on your fields.
So I can show you the sunshines,
in all of your blues.

Dreaming
Nilia Loh Nov 2020
I'm still sleeping.
Clinging onto a dream,
Ignoring the open seams.
Bright red apples,
Seem so subtle.
I refuse to wake up,
But it's time to be up.
I need to let this dream go,
and stop finding hope.
It flew ages ago,
Yet I'm still not letting go.

What's a poem?
To a human?
A channel to express,
When they're depressed.
Or when something's sweet,
Choose a poem over tweets.
What is art?
Something from the heart?
A channel to express,
Beauty from distress.

Irrelevant
Nilia Loh Sep 2020
Those people **** me off,
Making me scoff.
Gosh they're so irrelevant,
What a joke to flaunt their inelegance.
They like inducing pain,
But their efforts will be in vain.
I won't run from your storms,
You won't see me be torn.
I'll never crawl back to you,
So go play with someone new.
I rise up to my prime,
I stand up with pride.
Got me charged like Goku,
Don't regret when I choke you.
I won't ever look you in the eye,
Cause you're not even worth my time.
So try to rain on my parade,
So I can put you in your grave.

Fields Of Tulips
Nilia Loh Sep 2020
Endless field of tulips,
Many out of my reach.
The one that withered was more than 30 kilometres away,
Yet the sadness of the farmers I do not know was felt in such a way.
It was a beautiful day,
Tulips sparkled in the sun rays.
Yet it felt like it was pouring,
And the silence was roaring.
It wasn't my tulip to know,
But when it withered I felt the cold.
It's a perfect day with no snow,
but the day has lost its glow.
A withered tulip in a distance,
And I felt its fleeting existence.
It's about being the witness of someone i know being devastated and upset of their loved ones death

I wish you knew
Nilia Loh Aug 2020
If words could pierce through you,
My poems will let you know how I feel.
But some things words can't express,
On days the skies are depressed.
If I could...I'll lend you my heart,
So you'll feel how it hurts.
I'll lend you my eyes,
So you'll see how much I cried.
I'll lend you my mind,
So you'll know that I'm not fine.

Meaningless
Nilia Loh Aug 2020
Made to fight against each other,
In this battle for us to suffer.
Shedding blood sweat and tears,
For someone with a bitter taste.
Sacrificing everything I have,
Turning all of it to ash.
There you'll sit in your little throne,
With your little puppets to play.
All the dead bodies waltzing in your ball,
Those that have given their all.
Even if my life was surrendered,
You're still so self centred.
Never will you look at me,
Never will you care about me,
Even if I've given all of me.

I deserve it.
Nilia Loh Jul 2020
I'm worth more than how you’ve treated me.
I settled for less because I thought I didn’t deserve the best.
I let you come back over and over again,
let you trample all over me.
I blamed myself for your toxicity,
and let you poison me with it.

Eventually i said to myself,
I'm not unworthy of your love.
You are unworthy of mine.
I deserve better friends,
I deserve to be loved and cared for.
Not to be toyed by people like you,
to use me to stroke your egos.

I'll live my life to the fullest.
You’re not worth dying for.
I'll have my own glow up,
do what i love,
and surround myself with those who truly loves me.

Because I totally deserve it.
I said bye to those suckers and hyped myself up. I  don’t need them.

need more distraction
Nilia Loh Jul 2020
it's about 10pm.
I kept checking the messages,
hoping you'll maybe reply me.

the music wasn’t loud enough,
my drawings aren’t detailed enough,
people aren’t texting me enough,
I’m not busy enough.

i need to drown myself in things to do,
so you will fade from my mind.
I need to forget you,
like how you’ve  forgotten me.

noir et blanc
Nilia Loh Jul 2020
Noir and Blanc.
Swimming side by side.
Both full of pride.
Always arguing who is right,
Bickering with all their might.
Different beliefs,
Both in disbelief.
A pointless war,
not knowing what for.
Dorrance is their name,
Balance is not the way.
Only one can live,
So who is going to leave?
it's about my inner conflict lol

Unknown Creature
Nilia Loh Jul 2020
What shape is it's ears?
A silhouette so mysterious.
Wandering in the woods,
Not knowing how it looks.
A little pointy on the nose,
But it doesn't actually crow.
A lonely silhouette,
Disappearing into the sunset.
Can you guess what animal i'm talking about?

On Replay
Nilia Loh Jul 2020
"How are you?"
"How's your day?"
"Are you well?"
The old man played it like a broken record.

"Well...you see.."
"I've been wanting to say something! So-"
"Yes! Actually...No!"
The old man replies each time it's played.
This "poem" is about loneliness, and i used an old man to express his lack of company as his friends are no longer around and there isn’t  anyone who asks how his day was or how he is anymore.

This Moss Ball
Nilia Loh Apr 2020
A little marimo moss ball.
Unfazed in its glass ball.
Just another peaceful sunny day.
To not go about and enjoy the day.

A lonely marimo moss ball.
Looking in a mirror on the wall.
Noticing nothing has changed.
Isolation is still here, untouched.

Good Night's Sleep
Nilia Loh Apr 2020
Daydreams within blankets at night,
Cotton candy and candies alike,
Pillows and feathers so light,
Making me drift into the night.
Not too warm not too cold.
Feet hidden beneath the coats.
Head and body felt so light,
Making me drift into the night.

Amnesia
Nilia Loh Jan 2020
I'll pluck these flowers,
Petal by petal.
I'll slowly remove them,
From all my stems.
Each I'll say goodbye.
Each a loss of Hi's.
One by one I'll piece a puzzle,
Out from my head and into the puddle.
Each piece from my memory.
Slowly I drift into reverie.
I'll never remember then,
those times with dents.
Until all is plucked,
then I'll be in bliss.
Yet here's a whisper,
"Au revoir, ami."

Meaningless.
Nilia Loh Jan 2020
Does it mean anything?
To grow a garden?
When all of them wither,
on the most beautiful days.
They hardly bloom,
At least for me.
But I try my best to flourish them all.
Some flowers have thorns,
Even if they're not as pretty as roses.
But I loved them all,
Even though I've been pricked.
But I've lost them all,
In this dreadful storm.
That always comes on the most beautiful days.
Did it mean anything?
When I sang those songs.
I guess it didn't, so c'est dommage.

Artist From Above
Nilia Loh Dec 2019
Butterflies and clockwork hearts,
You put me together with those parts.
Gently you pieced like I'm art,
Making sure I don't fall apart.
A feeling I can't deny,
When I first opened my eyes.
Butterflies that feel so nice,
A heart that beats more than twice.
With our irises locked at each other,
I realise what is there to bother?
When you're with me,
It's all that matters.
This is written when I was thinking about how I was created by the amazing creator above! "For I am fearfully and wonderfully made." -psalms 139:14

Sweet You
Nilia Loh Dec 2019
Sweet of you to think of me,
Sweet candies so yummy.
you're more than what I can ask for,
Picnic together by the seashore.
You're sweet enough to make flowers bloom,
Floral scent with honeycombs.
You turn the grey skies to blue,
chocolate sweet fondue.
I wrote this about a very sweet friend :)))

Hope
Nilia Loh Dec 2019
Came out of rusty bars, with nothing but black stripes on me.
I walk down the street alone, seeing everyone else with no stripes on.
Their stares pierced through my innocence, as if my sins were still fresh for years.
But someone held my head high, gave me a identity, purpose and forgiveness.
He gave me a second chance, even when everyone else can't.
I walk down the street not alone, but with someone who filled me with hope.
I wrote this poem for a theme "prisoners" :D

The One Who Loves Me Most
Nilia Loh Dec 2019
Chasing after me was no other than Him.
The One above the skies was The One Who hear my cries.
He'd always hear me whine as time would go by.
Nothing beats the moments when I hear His heart beat for me.
The time froze for Him and I, to sit down and talk things out.
A broken heart to me, is an opportunity for Him.
To mend, comfort and make me stronger again.
He'll never leave me alone, even if the whole world does so.
I wrote this in the midst of my sadness when I remembered God is always there for me! :D Fyi, Jesus loves y'all

You Are Worthy.
Nilia Loh Dec 2019
Shades of purple,
Taped with love.
Royal blood,
Within common veins.
Clothed like any,
Walked like many.
Unaware that
you are worthy.
Deeply loved.
Deeply cared for.
You are worth more than
diamonds and gold.
Made to be royalty,
Made to be so much more.

Fragile Rock
Nilia Loh Dec 2019
"You look so rough on all edges."
"I'm very sharp."
"You look really tough!"
"Of course, I am tough."
"Wow, you're so strong!"
"Definitely!"
"Can I touch your heart?"
"Erm, no it's uhhh quite sharp so-"

There goes, a facade crumbling down.
Never knew, you'd be found so torn.
Always thought you're like a rock.
But all it takes was just a knock.
Why do you stand so still?
So tall like a hill.
Barely see you face to face.
Always seem to avoid our ways.
Couldn't look into your eyes,
As you hide those hidden fights.
You're not a rock,
And it's okay.
You don't always have to act like one.
It's fine being a fragile rock sometimes.
I wrote this about someone who constantly put up a strong facade because this person fears to disappoint the people around who look up to this person :) weeeeeee

Forget Me Not,

Forget you Not,

Forget Me Not,
Though we've fought.
Forget You Not,
Though we're naught.

Forget You Not,
When all is wrought.

Stubborn Good Rain
Nilia Loh Dec 2019
"Why does it wish to come inside?"
Such stubborn rain not seeing why.
"Clearly a window is in its way."
So why does it wish to come inside?

Pitter patter, doesn't hear me.
Chit chat, continued talking.
Tick tock, time is passing.
Whish whoosh, cars are driving.
Splish splash, kids are playing.

"So why are you trying to come in?"
Confused, not seeing the point.
"Clearly, it won't be worthwhile."
So why does it wish to come inside?

Click swish, the windows swung open.
Pitter patter, the rain ran in.
Tick tock, the sound of the clock.
Silence silence, there's no other sounds.

Pitter patter, the rain continues
Hand held out to hold them tight
Tick tock, splish splash
"Now I know why you come inside."
I wrote this during a rainy day and after finishing it, I realised it could metaphorically apply to a friend in my life whom never gave up in getting to me in my darkest times :) Enjoy!

A Certain Colour
Nilia Loh Mar 2018
Not everyone likes me and accepts me for the colour I am.
I may not be the colour you love, not the colour you need.
Sometimes I'm the forgotten colour, and that's alright.
Sometimes noticed by painters, but not wanted by them.
I may not be beautiful in your eyes, but I have a purpose for being a certain colour I am.
Is alright if some ended up changing their minds of having me in their pictures.
Is alright if I'm not liked or appreciated anymore.
Is alright if I'm forgotten and left aside.
Cause someday, I know, I'm a colour needed to complete their pictures.
A colour loved, wanted and appreciated.

Withering Flower
Nilia Loh Feb 2018
I'm a flower, blooming.
The person who takes care of me loves flowers.
I thought I'm the only flower, sadly I'm not special in your eyes.
You watered other flowers all the time.
I was left alone behind the sun flowers.
You've forgotten about me, so I started to wither.
My petals are falling off, help me I said, I'm withering.
I'm not heard or seen, I'm not as beautiful as other flowers.
Little did I know how important you were to me, my life rested in your very hands.
This is what I get for not being a outstanding flower, forgotten.
Helpless I am, I silently wither as others bloom.
I'm a withering flower, and now I'm dead.

— The End —
