Day to Remember
Juno Feb 2020
A childhood returns
For a day.
For a moment.

Laughter fills the room
Like before
They first left.

Empathy
Juno Feb 2020
Is it weird that I can write
About some things I’ve never experienced?
People tell me I’m good with feelings

But I have only my empathy to thank.

Our Forgotten Fairytale
Juno Feb 2020
We were our own fairytale,
But not one you would read.
Sure, we were quite happy
But my heart will always bleed.

“You’re perfect together”
Everyone would say then,
But on the deep inside
I knew we had to end.

We’d walk home in sadness;
My hand would be in yours
We knew I’d have to leave
This place that we called ours.

Now I’m gone for good
No one truly knows why
But we do, and I’m glad
That I got to be your life.

Plot Twist
Juno Feb 2020
A movie with a plot twist;
I didn’t see it coming
It shocked me somehow even though
You were always cunning.

A ballad with a key change;
You could’ve stayed the same
But you left me with a hole in my life
And you left me here to pay.

The Writing Process
Juno Feb 2020
I write what I want
When I feel like it.
It’s not planned at all
It just happens.

The words seem to flow;
They surround me.
Yet sometimes I can’t
Write at all.

When Light Has Gone
Juno Feb 2020
I didn’t know
That when you left
I wouldn’t see you
Ever again.

I waved goodbye
I smiled bright
Until they called me
Late at night.

Sometimes I think
When light has gone
You were a lost cause
All along.

But then when rays
Of light arrive
Tears of betrayal
Leave my eyes.

Am I Okay?
Juno Jan 2020
I’m fine during the daytime;
The problems come at night.
My thoughts come out to haunt me
Sometimes they make me cry in fright.

I lie awake for hours
My face is wet with tears.
Sleep seems so far away,
Though my nightmares seem so near.

I didn’t sign up for this;
Crying myself to sleep.
Who could’ve known that now it is
A burden to be able to think?
I often have trouble sleeping because at night, there’s nothing to do and my thoughts catch up to me.

In The End, Do We Die?
Juno Jan 2020
Do you feel our pain?
Do you feel the hopelessness that we do,
Crushing in around us every day?

Do you stop and wonder what it’s like to live a life in a dying world?

Do you feel the pain?
It doesn’t hurt for us, not anymore.
It’s not pain, it’s just life.
It’s all we know.
We’ve known from the start, and we somehow find the strength to get up.

We get up.
Every.
Day.

We are forced to fight.
We see the faults in this world.
We love this terrible, wonderful place.
We were born here.
We will die here?

In the end, do we die?
Possibly the most dramatic thing I’ve ever written. I wrote it right before going to bed because I had this sudden inspiration. It’s mostly about how climate change is ruining the planet and we could eventually die of it. Wow, I’m so dramatic sometimes.

Full Moon
Juno Dec 2019
Though you’re near me now
You seem so far
It’s like you locked your door.

While I understand
I wish you’d stay
Close to me right now.

And I know that soon
Perhaps someday
We could change the way some things are.

But we stand our ground
And disappear
Into the light of this bright full moon.

Supernova
Juno Dec 2019
It was one sentence
That I read.
It reduced me to tears

I wanted to scream
And laugh,
Because there is hope after all.
I actually reacted like this when finishing Marissa Meyers’ Supernova (Renegades Trilogy). If you know, you know!

Tears of happiness

And now I’ll see you in summer.

Where Has Time Gone?
Juno Dec 2019
Where has time gone?

Yesterday I was with you.
We were at the beach, skipping rocks.
The sky was blue.

Where has time gone?

Today, it seems I am alone.
All these miles between us two.
Here the sky is gray.

You
Before I wake up and forget
I want to say something.
I thought I saw you last night;
Last night in a dream.

But you’re gone, and I know it.
I’ll forget you soon enough.
It’s just hard, everyday,
Acting happy and full of love.

In my dream I realized something;
How amazing you truly were.
I should’ve kept you close
To keep the future I prefer.

But what’s done is done and now you’re gone.
It’s not supposed to be this sad.
But maybe in my dream tonight
I’ll see you again at last.

But we’re gone.

But can vanish you without a trace.

Juno Oct 2019
So like
She’s amazing
I’m her friend
But yet she rubs it in my face
Oh, you know, “it” as in “I can draw better than you.”
It’s confusing
We both love art
We have our own style
We’re both quite good.
But still she has more friends
So she gets more popular.
And she rubs it in.

The pilot until the end
I let the plane fall
In it me and my only “friend”.
