Isaac Aug 2018
If the wisest man was in front of me,
I would lock the door and hide the key,
And tell him I will let him free
Once he tells me the truth only he can see.

Life Winked At Me
Isaac Aug 2018
Life squeezes me tighter and tighter.
The pressure is real. I could almost burst.

Is there a way for this burden to be lighter?
My soul being stretched, unnaturally dispersed.

In the midst of such barbaric ferocity,
I shove back, for some air to breathe and think.

I look at life with curiosity.
Life looks me back, and gives me a wink.

I see the world in a future time.
Things now old, replaced with the new.

This entire generation passed its prime,
and the dreams in my heart finally come true.

this story.

More Than Just A World
Isaac Aug 2018
Just as God created a world,
he also created a story.
It unfolds every day,
patient to reveal his glory.
The chapters of our lives
seem nonsensical from inside.
But time will reveal
a story that will heal
Every hurt and pain,
showing no suffering was in vain.
Set your hope on the promised day
when all evil will be washed away.
And all things will be made new,
including me and you!

Small Choices
Isaac Aug 2018
Life is made up of choices small.

It's easy to think they don't matter at all.

The present strides with confidence,

But the future knows its consequence.

Each choice is a direction,

Branching from an intersection.

Live with eyes that look ahead,

So the future you is not misled.

A Lost Mankind
Isaac Aug 2018
People trying to find
themselves in a lost mankind.

Grasping for money and fame,
not knowing what is the aim.

Hoping for a day
when worries will be washed away.

While Jesus knocks on our door,
waiting to heal our world at war.

Everyone's Busy
Isaac Aug 2018
Going here, going there.
Everyone wants to be everywhere.
Buzzing around like busy bees.
Chasing every blowing breeze.
Hoping that the next thing will make us happy.

A World Of Wonder
Isaac Jul 2018
A world of wonder surrounds us each day.
So magnificently grand, I don't know what to say!

Other than the fact that I am in love with the one
who invented it all before heaven and earth began!

God Deserves More Friends
Isaac Jul 2018
How many days does God watch go by
without people caring to even say hi?

As the creator of the universe, you'd think people would want to know you.

I thoughtfully muse to myself: 'At least some do!'

A Way To Get To Know Jesus
Isaac Jul 2018
If you want to get to know Jesus...here's a start:
Look around at reality and observe his art.

Choosing blue for the sky,
shows he's a pretty cool guy.

Making clouds that are puffy,
shows his love for what's fluffy.

Spreading an ocean so wide,
shows his generous side.

Causing trees to dance in the breeze,
shows his nature to please.

Inventing animals so vast,
shows when creating them, he had a blast.

Coming up with every personality,
shows his endless originality.

Please don't stop with this brief poem.
Observe for yourself and get to know him!

What Actually Matters?
Isaac Jul 2018
At the end of our lives we'll think to ourselves:
what actually mattered?

Worries that seem so real right now,
by then, will all be scattered.

New generations to wave us goodbye.
It makes me stop and wonder why

we live without even caring about
the life we will all live once we die.

There is a power that unveils loveliness
hidden in everything, even in ugliness.
An x-ray that shows you all the good
inside of things that normally would
seem so ordinary to the average eye.
You need to realise that beauty is shy.
You don't have to search the world to see her.
Just look with an eye that goes a little deeper.
Take the time to notice what no one else will.
It'll heal your heart. A truly amazing thrill!

Thoughts can be touched

Isaac Jul 2018
Out of all the animals, humans are the pinnacle.

The fact that you and I are one is really quite a miracle.

All the other creatures have missed out on being one.

They don't get to take part of all that is being done.

It's easy to forget how awesome it is

to rule God's creation, although it is his.

With wisdom to find, and poems to write,

let's stop being defined by other people's sight.

Turn your heart to the one true light:

God's infinite love that shines so bright!

Look behind every poem
Isaac Jul 2018
Look behind every poem and you'll quickly see

a person that's trying to make sense of reality,

digging their heart and mind to find sanity,

while trying to connect with the rest of humanity.

If this isn't true, then it must be just me

doing my best to set my thoughts free.

But I know it is true, because I can see

a million other poems that completely agree.

Live to beautify
Isaac Jul 2018
Being human is common ground.
By this truth we're all bound.

Slowly perishing day by day.
Heading down the same pathway.

While we are all living,
we can choose what we're giving

our time to before we die.
Let's lay our lives down to beautify.

Is poetry about trending?
Isaac Jul 2018
We all want our poems to trend and get views.
But when that is your focus, you're the one who will lose.

Striving for popularity can cause you to lose clarity.
Pulling you down a hole of insularity.

Instead, look ahead!
There are new horizons to be tread!
New poems to bloom happily in your garden bed,
no matter whether they are noticed...or even read!

Living Dominoes
Isaac Jul 2018
All in this together.
All in this forever.

All have influence.
Each choice has continuance.

Every person you know:
a living domino.

Think twice about how
you unwittingly allow
their pushes to make you bow.

And think thrice about who
comes leaning on you,
for not every pathway is true.

It's best to obey
Isaac Jul 2018
There is a person
outside of time

who created a world
that was sublime.

It was us who chose
to eat the fruit

that turned mankind
down a different route.

If we would listen,
he'll show us the way

and we will discover
it's best to obey.

Such An Epic Backdrop
Isaac Jul 2018
Every past generation had their turn
on this giant ball.

They had their taste of life, then death,
and now we're here for more.

Reality has gone a long way back.
It's quite the story we're in.

Can you see how such an epic backdrop makes
your own worries appear so thin?

A Strange Treasure Hunt
Isaac Jul 2018
I want wisdom o so much.
Please tell me where it can be found.
It's the type of treasure I cannot clutch
or dig for underground.
Should I dig into books to find the gold?
If so, which book is the one?
Even if I read it every day till I'm old,
by then would my search be done?
Who are the wisest men on Earth?
What is it that they would know?
Before they all die, it would be so worth
learning where their wisdom will go.
I really want to find the truth
and nail life on the head.
Can I live wise from the time of my youth
till the day I find myself dead?

Cut Into Your Day
Isaac Jul 2018
Cut into your day, for this cake is yours.
Don’t let it be eaten by endless chores.

Everything and everyone wants a piece.
If you sit and observe, you’ll see it decrease,

until it is gone. No more to be seen.
Haven’t you noticed? They licked it clean!

So hurry up! Go grab a knife.
Cut and eat, before it’s your life.

When you die, you’re the one who’ll be dead.
You’ll watch from your grave as everyone else gets fed.

They’ll glance at your tombstone, saying, ‘You had your lot',
and go on with their lives, leaving you thinking, 'What?'

Live Bold
Isaac Jul 2018
This world will go on
with its energy and strength.

But you will go off.
Your life has a length.

While your body is still working,
put it to good use.

Don't sell your dreams
with a single excuse.

Realise you are gold
waiting to be seen.

Know it before you're old.
Live bold,
while still keen.

Lovesick
Isaac Jul 2018
Feet push flat sand down.
New footprints mark the grainy ground.

Looking up to where they head,
a cliff stands, mouth open to be fed

by crashing waves. They spray me gently
with mist, carried by the ocean breeze.

Feet stop. Gaze turns to see
endless sparkles smiling at me,
reaching to a moon floating free.

Such beauty kisses my eyes until my heart stops.
What do I do with such love? My entire body flops.

Lying on soft sand embracing me.
I hear the crickets sing and waters racing happily.

I give up on pathetic time wasting.
It's time I discover this real world I am tasting.

I know there is a person behind it all.
He has captured my heart.
I am lovesick for
Jesus.
He's the one behind it all.

Each Second Is Giving
Isaac Jul 2018
People spending life
to earn more money
is what makes time
think mankind is funny.

Using our days
to make a 'living',
not realising what
each second is giving.

We each should devote
our minutes to what
will matter once time
has used up our lot.

Luminosity
Isaac Jul 2018
Answers float,
never heard, never seen.

Outside the boat
where no man has been.

They wait for a question
to hook them aboard.

Unless asked with intention,
they will always be ignored.

So begin the quest
of childlike curiosity.

The truth will impress,
giving new luminosity.

What Forever Stays
Isaac Jul 2018
The blue planet twirls.
Humans call it days.

They all live and breathe
under Sun's golden rays.

Smoke comes and goes,
so does life's ways.

The human heart is
what forever stays.

So check it twice.
It bears God's gaze.

His work on it
is what remains.

Those who seek him,
he will raise.

Our Flying Bus
Isaac Jul 2018
A rock spins inside a world
too large for us to see.

On it is many creatures,
including you and me.

We've never known what it's like
to live on another rock.

It seems to me that somehow
we have found the best spot.

We weren't the ones who found this speck
of the universe, which we dwell.

It was something else that put us here.
It's not very hard to tell.

Our creator knew this precious rock
was specially reserved for us.

From his playful heart of love,
he built it as our flying bus.

If you would stop waiting
for people to acknowledge you,

that blesses Earth’s future days,

White Pages

no mark, no scratch
no story to show

page after page
waiting to be used

patient, at peace
excited, and amused

each page a day

anticipating the time
when their purpose will unfold

who will be a part of them?
everyone but those yet to be

who will enjoy them most?
the people who now get ready

Each Day A Movie I Watch
Isaac Jul 2018
Each day a movie I watch
inside a body I feel.

Outside of what I see,
I control a person that’s real.

Born before my birth.
Beyond my being, I be.

My soul rests in a deeper world
enwrapped by eternity.

Death a door that leads outside
this home I know so well.

Slipping outside on a special day,
I'll find my real home to dwell.

A New Friend
Isaac Jul 2018
I made a new friend,
Though old she may be.

Spotting her at the end,
I invited her for tea.

Sitting with me for a moment.
My worries became obsolete.

Her sting so potent.
It made everything sweet.
Written 21 July 2018

I have learned that your own death can become a valuable friend.

John Eldredge says it beautifully:

The most dangerous man on earth is the man who has reckoned with his own death. All men die; few men ever really live.
