Stolen
My Dear Poet Apr 2021
They stole a word
from a poem I wrote
Stealing
the meaning
leaving just a note
“We’re sorry for the damage,
we hope you don’t mind
we’ve just taken a lend
of a word from a line”
They left no name
no number to call
Just a few words
and that was all
Then just the other day
I read on the news
a poem became famous
for a word that was used
that made the world weep
over their lies and their theft
critics hailed it
‘the true and only’
‘honest poem’
in the world left

Plant a garden
My Dear Poet Jan 2022
Don’t cry tears
cry seeds for roses
who found no place in Eden

Don’t grow guns
Fight for the flowers
that bloom in shadows hour
waiting for the sun

Like crawling moss
inside cellars
where wine is stored
from twisted vine
Guard your heart
and mind

Or ivy in attics
where memories are hoard
away from eyes and light
Guard your sight

Tears fall like pellets
scattered shells of bullets
buried in dirt, like seeds
that shoot up into hurt

But if you’re wounded
by life
plant a garden
in every light of your love
Keep your head up high
wait for the sky
to shower you from above

Hanging by a thread
My Dear Poet Feb 2022
I lost my button
off a thread
on the day when I wed
left with a half open tux
Though it hung for awhile
it fell, rolling down the isle
and down dropped my trunks
The people ‘woo’
and applaud
My future wife
was appalled
“Do you realise it’s all about you?”
I pulled up my pants
bowing at the chance
I smile, replying “I do”

His and Her conversation
My Dear Poet Mar 2022
She turns to him and says,
“Did you ask me to marry you because you felt sorry for me?”

He replies,
“I asked you to marry me because I’d be sorry if I didn’t “

Looking through her tears, into her eyes, he pauses

“Do you regret marrying me?”, he asks.

“No,
…I’d have regretted not to have married you”, she whispers.

My Dear Poet Jun 2023
For every drip that drops
theres a kiss on your lip
we can’t stop
the tick proceeds the tock,
on every clock

Little bits of bitterness
makes a mess of emptiness
The pleases of teases
satisfy our happiness
And all that it will leave us
is pure **** of nothingness

Other than that soft
sweet scent of sweetness
Where only you can meet this
going back to our first kiss
that I myself so miss

A Broken Poem
My Dear Poet May 2023
One night I sat
in my chair to write
what was to be one of the most
beautiful poems ever written
and in the middle of my poem
my pencil broke

:.’

Just like the centre of my heart
in the middle of a dream
between your smile and eyes
and everything inbetween
now broken in this poem
like these lines

I’m tired of collecting the tears

Don’t hide behind lies

there’s no place to hide

My Dear Poet Apr 2021
A poets dream
is made up
of a million things
from fairies,
doves,
and angels
almost everything
with wings
as the poet sleeps
thoughts take flight
words like birds
are born
captured
and caged
at night
to be set free
by morning
for the poems sake
that will awaken
the world
when the poet
awakes

I hate poetry
My Dear Poet Jan 2022
I hate sunsets
the calm summer breeze
fragrant walks of jasmine
restful shade of cherry trees
I hate the hope of open sky
The whispers of oceans blue
because everything that is beautiful
reminds me of you

I hate old smiles with wrinkled eyes
The sound of children's glee
bedside books and biscuits
the scent of cinnamon tea
I hate the silver moonlit nights
the love infused fumes of two
because everything that is beautiful
reminds me of you

I hate the white in this paper
the black that bleeds this ink
The very word ‘beautiful’
and every time of you I think
though my life be filled with beauty
the things I love are a few
in as much as I hate everything
I’ll never stop loving you.

Hedges.
My Dear Poet Feb 5
I dug a trench
to keep you close
growing the hedges
with rope and hose
I filled a moat
to keep you in
a buoy, no boat
if you tried to swim
I planted flowers
bushes, no tree
lest you could climb
and found you free
I paved a road
there you cut a path
far from the garden
away from my arms
now I’m building a bridge
across a sad sea
if you ever decide
to come back to me.

Crime never pays
My Dear Poet Aug 2021
I picked a grape, from a cluster at a deli
you know…to sneak a taste before I buy
A lady scorned, “yuck, ain’t that dusty?”,
and ******* her face like I was going to die

“Hey, what’s up?”I said “I gave it a rub
and I’m not going to buy unless I try,
a lick with my lips, is as good as a scrub”,
and I gave her a wink of my eye

But she wasn’t impressed by my address
and was weirded out by what I meant
She quickly called the police for my arrest
and accused me of sensual harassment

When the police arrived at the crime
I quickly swallowed the pips
For a pinch of a grape, I’m paying no fine
no matter what she claims I did with my lips
Everything is so misunderstood, even though no one is really innocent

Dad never got him
My Dear Poet Dec 2023
His son wanted to play ball
So he got him a dog

He wanted to go fishing
So he got him a fish

His son wanted some advice
So he got him a book

He wanted some time
So he got him a watch

He just wanted a dad
But dad never got him
My Dear Poet Nov 2021
I took advice from a fox
about survival and natural law
It spoke to me about cunningness
and how to trap birds within your jaw

I took advice from that bird
laying stiff in its mouth and still
about the ways one catches worms
and the early rise for their meal

I took advice from the worm
squirming in it’s beak from a brook
about all the fish it once had caught
and how in everything theres a hidden hook

I took advice from life itself
searching for secrets to survive
the difference between good and bad
and how Karma is killing us alive

if these tears are no proof of my apology
will you accept a drop of my blood
I am tired of saying I am sorry

if tears are not enough to win mercy
then death is the remedy for life
my need for you to forgive me
is as thick as the need for a knife

The hidden side of a dice
My Dear Poet Sep 2021
When counting numbers on a dice
there’s always one number you can’t see
If 5 is on the right, a 1 on the left
then the bottom under, may be a 3
A simple trick
to guarantee if its really true
is if, the side facing up
is clearly the number 2
Unless, the value fixed
at the top is a 6
then, you’ll know for sure
the number under, out of view
is most definitely a 4
You can’t change facts even if hidden from plain sight by a random guess.

Frankie’s way,
Yet his charm and that tattoo

made him seem like a nice boy

You see…
he never won her heart
just stole her mind
“In just a matter of time”

no sooner she was won
with a ring fit for her thumb
Frankie found himself a new toy
So sad

My Dear Poet Mar 2022
Our shelter was the blue sky
till we grew a tree
It’s bough became our place away
a home for you and me
So good, we grew an orchard
we dug and planted seeds
In turmoil, tears watered roots
as we cut and grew more trees
Till our fields could not be numbered
in grief we glory in golden leaves
whilst greed sprouted envy
like **** we were deceived
Each planting left us wanting
a forest, thick, large and high
forgetting the place we first belonged
beneath black branches that hid the sky

where my heart was left unmade

My Dear Poet Jan 2022
There are so many ways
to say goodbye
‘Hellos’ are but a few
there’s ‘adieu’ and ‘farewell’
just to mention one or two
‘Catch you later
…alligator’

there are much, and many more
of ‘Bye byes’
than of ‘Hi’s’
than a simple ‘Bonjour’

‘See ya’ or ‘See you’
easier said than to cleave
so, ‘So long’
won’t feel wrong
so many ways to see you leave
maybe, it’s because we depart
more often than we come
maybe, “hello” holds no meaning
after it’s said and when it’s done
goodbye could be good but hurtful
for no sorrow in hello you feel
but parting can be painful
so we say ‘Keep it real’

‘ta ta’, ‘toodeloo’
’sorry it’s me…not you’
among the funny things we say
like ‘howdy’, ‘how you?’
‘****-a-doodle-doo’
by early morning on your way
so it’s hasta la vista
see you soon, or cya later
I’d better be along.
take it easy
easy peasy
peace out and stay strong.

Collecting Broken Pieces
My Dear Poet Apr 2021
I’m collecting little broken pieces of me
piecing me together,
slowly,
you see

a piece at a time
each fragment you’ll find
more of me
hopefully

I’m collecting little broken pieces of me
I’m finding them in places
I used to be

beneath the books I’ve read
under the words I’ve said
in the things I’ve grown
behind things I’ve known

I’m collecting little broken pieces of me
placing them together,
carefully

and finally,
when I’m done
if I’m missing one
possibly two
know this
for this is true

I’m complete
as complete as can be
its in the missing pieces
I feel more like me

Shes my dreams of little sleep
Of tears we keep and never weep
Of things we’re told and never hold
She’s the karat in the gold

She’s a piece of heaven sold in hell
She’s the whisper among the noise
