Trouble, love...
You drown me in
Quick
Beats;
Palpitations of my
Red *****.
My waters run for you.

Tied with
Ribbons of
Silk,
I shout proclamations
To the clouds who
Threaten to rain on us.

A Shoelace Knot (An English Assignment)

A shoelace dangles between my fingers.
It is my gift to you this Valentine.

It's a bit muddy, stinks of sock
and is coloured a fading blue
The aglets still remain, but are worn with use,
something like my feelings for you.

I know you love cheesiness and chocolate,
But accept it, my love, for it belongs to the shoe,
that led me to where you stood.

Tie it around your wrist,
so that I'll stay around you, in your mind,
around your beating pulse,
lest you forget
all the journeys we undertook.

Look.
The string is tearing at places,
but we'll just tie a knot again.

We'll be inseparable and true.

I fall with your fall, and you match your footsteps to mine,
because like the tied shoelace,
our lives are tangled and knotted.

Accept my gift, an old shoelace
and tie us together
Tight.
This is for an English Assignment. I thought I'd upload it earlier, so any suggestions are more than welcome :)
Inspired by Valentine, by Carol Ann Duffy. (That's also the poem we read in class and are supposed to use as our topic).

If you'd cut yourself

i thought
i saw your name
on the bottom
of my last bottle
it wrapped around my tongue
i couldn't speak
couldn't breathe
you were like a snake
who i didn't want to let go
i tried spitting your name
back out
*but i couldn't even give that back

he searches though i am not lost
he worries when i am not close
he fears what keeps me away

though i am with him always
though he is my calm sea
though my heart lays within him
out of sight is NEVER out of mind.  I  only love forever.

"Grow up tall,
little kid,"
said grandpa Joe.
And so I did.

The watermelon grow tall too.
The sunflowers look to the sky,
keeping their chins up,
raised real high.

So maybe it's silly,
watching grass grow,
but if you never try,
how could you ever know?

So maybe it's crazy,
chanting for the rain,
but if it never comes,
how could I grow the grain?

I'd prefer to stare at clouds,
than sleep forever like a rock,
skidding by life.
Why, that would just ****!

So, if you ask me to leave this here place,
you better shove it,
before you wake up
in an unknown space,
******* with lace,
with a disfigured face,
completely full of mace,
and a strange case
of something poisonous.

But what are chains? I hold myself in this place.
