Honey to Vinegar
PoserPersona Apr 2018
Thy honey's taste turned sweet to sour,
  though continuing to stick
Ne'er would a starving old black bear
  indulge itself one lick.

Mushrooms

Magic fairy rings
     Budding decomposed mater [sic]
Cincture dream seekers
Am I referring to tripping on shrooms or just the wife's tale of fairy rings granting wishes? Intentionally ambiguous as I like it being open to both interpretations. I don't know myself haha!

Ancestral Hunt
PoserPersona Apr 2018
Do you hear that calm, frugal breeze?
The synced patter cadence off the road?
What was once a hunt for your feast
In a time not so long ago

Over the distant horizon,
the rhythm takes your morning run
Within sight is a lonesome deer
Within scent is a stillborne fear

Exalted whispers of the ancestors:
"Exhaust it to death, predators."

Plato's Cave
PoserPersona Jun 2018
Seeing is believing, for which we can perceive
Believing is seeing, for which we can't perceive
There are infinite things that are, let alone aren't
That we cannot even dream of, let alone chart
Living in shadows of a universe unknown
From stardust we are born, where from death do we go?

Immortal Sanctuary
PoserPersona Apr 2018
From the iron red sea flows
an infinite forest of white roots and gray leaves

Unequivocally woven in response to
the senses of each unique being

Ahhh, if timeless beauty is what you seek,
let the transcendental levies bleed

For that which may be perceived internally,
will be embellished eternally

Rhetorical Idol
PoserPersona Apr 2018
I'm drowning
Each time I go under the waves,
it becomes harder to surface.
At which point will I become lost?

I'm bleeding
Crimson red from my heart, my arm
a sacrifice to you or me.
Is it for love or selfishness?

The Deal of Mortality
PoserPersona Jul 2018
As a mortal you will die;
  in exchange, a chance at life.
Though it is not guaranteed,
  moments, are odds to be seized.

To Fallen Idealists
PoserPersona May 2020
What you wish can never be
For wicked hearts will alway beat
Find the gold between us all
or you too shall one day fall
PoserPersona May 2018
Try utilizing meter and form
Stanzas that can be adored
Not necessarily rhyming
Though at least include some pacing
Prose riding rhythm
Consider a little alliteration
Free verse certainly has merit
But too often excuses ****.
Give us not what is convenient,
But that which is brilliant.

Always,
One unwilling to partake in your portentous ****
Yes, I think there is a lot of great contemporary poetry and poets, as much as any other genre, but I just feel free prose is abused not for its brilliance, but for the apparent convenience people seem to think it affords them.

"Stop and smell the roses" is an ironic cliché,
cause when doing so literally, it is strange?
Inspired by my smelling flowers out on a walk and getting weird looks.

First Hike on Mount Hood
PoserPersona May 2018
Through these woods on red tint trails;
Mount Hood is where I go

Stresses regress on mountain's back;
steady streams glisten bliss

Little lizards crawl round rocks
Mother Nature their only clock

In summer's open fields of grass,
yellow flowers bloom in pacts

Colored birds tune melody
Forest whispers harmony

Private property impedes my journey.
Hey, this is my earth, too.

Birds, trees, and humming bees may swing as they desire
But God forbid my fellow man idle just one hour

Open roads open doors
to worlds I've never seen before

I enter.
You may shoot to my doom, but I intend to bloom

Tell Me How Not Why
PoserPersona May 2018
Million goals set in store
To win your heart back once more
Raise my stock, my self esteem
Never enough, it sadly seems

It's time now...
I know why... But how?
Not to get over it as they say,
but rather accept it. Find a new way

Hidden Confession
PoserPersona Apr 2018
Strands of golden beach sand,
Soft and radiant as first snow
Pools of glacier water,
Evoke internal flames not seen.

Beautiful, unknowing
Mirrors may lie, though not I
Heroine of our dreams,
Slay the somnolent slumber.

Winter's worry
Summer's laughter
Fall's turning
Spring's blossoms

I say it so, so you know me

Bridge of the Golden Gates
PoserPersona May 2018
Was denied a request
     to live a life of bliss

        Away from this stupid mess
         to receive a final wish

        This is a way to death,
        but it is no way to live

     Healing waters pierce one's brain
    absolve one of existing pain

  Falling from one Golden Gate
to potentially the next
In reference to the Golden Gate Bridge and it's infamous suicidal allure.
PoserPersona May 2018
Living in the dark, yet afraid of the shadows;
  cast forth from the stars of a mystic scintillant soul

Knowledge illuminates the scholar's glass window;
  scorches the brush of the ignoramus's finite goals

Remember, however, all fields exist as fractals;
   pursue to infinity and perceive the worm's crawl

Brothers and sisters, united in life's shackles;
  the universe's fixed physical laws constrain all

Though collectively, mankind strives for heaven's lenses;
  forever advancing Hegel's romantic world essence

Depression
PoserPersona May 2020
How much is depression a feeling
versus a way of being
I can’t remember anymore
it’s been so long since I was gold
