Your First
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
I want the kind of love from you that makes me question every thing I thought I knew about love. The kind that makes you realize that you've never felt something so real and pure.

I want to know you better than anyone has ever known you. I want to know what makes you cry and what your first thought is when you wake up. Before you even open your eyes. I want you to wake me up at 3am just to tell me an idea you have.

I want to hear about your worst day and what would make a perfect one. I want to know what you see when you look in the mirror and if you've ever felt guilt that made you question yourself.

I want to relive your happiest moments with you. I want to understand your sadness and listen to your voice change as you relive your past experiences.

I want you to feel vulnerable with me and be okay with it. Because I want you to trust me enough with your deepest thoughts and feelings. Take me somewhere emotionally that you've never taken another woman.

And in return, I will give you the same. I believe in that moment we will have found something untouchable. Unimaginable. And unexplainable.

Can we love with more passion than we've ever known.

Puzzle Piece
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
And there is was.  As real as I knew it was.

It existed in my mind and fed on my soul. I stared it right in the face and felt somewhat whole.

It was like finding the missing piece to the puzzle. A puzzle you've been working on for a year. And the more you tried to figure out what happened to it, the more it felt unclear.

Your heart was invested. But in someone else as I could see. I obviously didn't deserve honesty from you. I wonder if she knows about me?
**** it. Just getting rid of relationships left and right.

I am Human
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
I'm a person just like you

Although you may not see what I go through

That makes me no less human than you .
People cope with things in different ways. But in our veins. We are all the same.

What Do You Want
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
You say you want a woman
Yet you seem to want less,
A female who seeks attention
Through her flawless appearance.
A picture you like
Based on her womanly assets
Baby this image is imperfect
You can't see your flawed mindset.
You want a woman who loves herself
Yet has no self respect
I don't understand your logic
It sounds like you want an object.

The Essence
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
You love me so much now
But your love has been a ghost
Forever lost in the shadows
Hidden and unexposed.

So much hurt and regret I carry
It's a heavy load upon my shoulders
My heart is empty with no love left
To you I was just a love donor.
A decomposing body with useless features
You only wanted my heart
To run away with and steal
Because that was your missing part.

I knocked on your many doors
Asking if compassion was around
All I got were echoes and abandoned entries
I always left with just a frown.

There was hope in my heart for you
I had endless love and desire to share
There was joy in our dream
There was a glimpse of love in you're stare.
But just as quickly as it came
In a blink it was gone
And all of the hope that I once had
Went right back to where it came from.

Without a thought all of my walls
Went straight back up and stood stronger than ever
You didn't realize just how much
You made me reconsider-
My life, my love,
What I thought I knew
My faith in us, in our future
My faith in you.

I let go of our dream
But I still struggle to move on
Even though I know I need to
Sometimes I just wish we were never so wrong

Some Kind of Monster
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
I always do this, It never fails
My love is a tragedy. No happy ending in my fairytale.

One after the other I massacre my men
They say I take their soul, Do things appologies can't mend.

What is it about me that loves the taste of love
Probably more than vampires love blood.

I need it so bad until I get it in my veins
And then finally I'm satisfied for a moment And they leave forgetting their own name.

Drained of all their self worth. They refer to me as Her
But now that I read it aloud I'm terrified that I may just be that monster.

Drowning
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
Drowning. Slow motion. As if in a movie you could watch it. She fell from the dock when he pushed her.

Her arms reach out for him but he stands there still. Watching. Waiting to drown.

The point of view is hers now. She feels her body being pulled down by gravity. It's inevitable. She will crash into the water. Watching him. Waiting for him. To not let her drown.

Their eyes locked on each other. Both anxious. Both waiting. She then realizes he's not changing his mind. She will drown.

She then became one with the water. Still as ever. She did not fight it.

The Most Wrecked
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
It's what hollow feels like. The most empty object that ever existed. So cold you don't even want to acknowledge it.

Walking this earth and living by your side. When darkness falls it disappeares into the earth. Soaked into the dirt like the roots of the oldest tree. There it lays, there it lives. Watches the world pass by.

The saddest, empty thing that ever was. It terrorizes hearts and lives, causes chaos and weeps at the wreckage. Banished from town to town, leaving pieces scattered on the trail to another. Never finding a destination. Never understanding itself.

It wants to be understood. It wants to hold your hand. It's cold and alone in this big world.

Can you relate?

Onions and Men
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
I cried.
Not because you shattered my dreams or ripped my heart out of me.
Not because you destroyed every hope I ever had in men.
Not because you learned to hate me and abused my body and soul.

I cried because as I chopped this onion it forced me to cry. That's just what onions do. Kinda like you. That's just what you do.
i really don't know where I was going with this

The Process of Letting Go
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
The "I love you" 's and "I promise"
The dreams of the future and hope for tomorrow
The smiles and the laughter
The holidays and all the family videos...

We don't forget, we only embrace
Now that it's all over I seem to miss those days..
Now that you've gone and I let go of my hate
I wake up sometimes still seeing your face...
I tell you I miss you
And you become so enraged
You scream at me and swear
That I'm just playing games...

A Rush of Lust
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
I was swept off my feet
When you grabbed me by the arm
You stole me away into the night
And had me completely disarmed
I couldn't see anything around us
Except tall buildings and fainted lights
We ran through alley ways
Up and down stairs, we took flight
My hand in your hand
Your eyes spoke in rhythm to me
Your kisses and your fingers
All over my body.
Tonight you will have me
And tomorrow I'll be gone
Just as quickly as we met
We both will have moved on.

Had A Melody
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
Baby I won't waste my time
Thinking that, I'm all you think about
When we both know I'm out
Of your mind..

And honey I won't waste my breath
Standing there, trying to look into those eyes
When all I hear are lies
From your mouth..

It's alright, I'm okay
It was nice to meet you babe.
Had it in my head with a melody. Had to get it down before it was lost forever

Beyond Torn
PaperclipPoems Aug 2015
Some nights are really hard
Some are better than others
I don't know why I sit here sometimes
And look at the videos and pictures of us together.
I don't know why I torture myself with the what if's
And wonder what your up to
I think sometimes that I made a huge mistake
Then get ******* remembering what I put you through.
Sometimes I feel like the pain will never leave
Then in an instant I'm mad as hell
Sometimes I feel like I've lost it all
And I just can't control myself.
Some days I think we're better this way
And some nights I wish I could pick up the phone
Call you to come over and have you here with me
Just so I don't feel so alone.
I always feel like I lost my best friend
And I always feel so empty inside
I try to stop myself from remembering
All of the happiness you once brought to my life.
I try to stop myself from feeling regret
And try to justify the things I've done
Trying to make myself hate you
When it came to ******* up I wasn't the only one.
But then I feel so guilty and terrible
Because you loved me so much
And even though I knew it, I couldn't feel it
And I don't know why your love suddenly wasn't enough.
I made you feel like less of a man
And I just try so hard to forget
I try to live past it every day
It kills me to keep thinking back to it.
An empty abyss inside me lingers
And it wants to reach out to you
I can't help but wish you were here
I can't help but feel that I need you.

Analyzing The World
PaperclipPoems Jul 2015
Sometimes she just sits by the fire
In the middle of the night
She makes a small plate
And keeps off all the lights.

Sometimes she leans against her window
Staring out at the moon
Wishing on stars
Swaying to her favorite tune.

Sometimes you may see her
In her own little world
On a bus route somewhere
Looking out into the world.

She silently lives
But she's happy this way
Lonely as she appears
But she is her favorite company, every day.

Beautiful Love
PaperclipPoems Jul 2015
She is beautiful.
Not because her hair is flawless or her skin is soft.
Not because she is tall nor because her smile reminds you of dandelions.
Not because her nails are painted and her clothes are all so clean.

She is beautiful because she understands you and loves your soul. She is beautiful because she truly loves you, and after all; what is more beautiful than that.

Me, Myself, and I
PaperclipPoems Jul 2015
I** cried alone in my room every night. You weren't there.
I asked myself why I deserved so much suffering from you.
I spent years trying to understand why I loved you so much and only received heartache from you.
And after all this time, I finally realize that it's only me that really comprehends my own emotions and struggle.

So what do I need you for?
I'm really happy that I have such a horrible person out of my life, it was all just such a traumatic experience that when I think back I get chills down my spine and have to write out the hate that comes over me.

Uninhabited Girl
PaperclipPoems Jul 2015
I stand in front of the mirror
Only to see
A girl with no emotion
Staring back at me.

A girl with blonde hair
Who brushes paint on her cheeks
black paint on her lashes
and dove lotion on her feet..

Pink fingers and pink toes
She seems so in sync
Hazel eyes and light skin
A pretty smile with perfect white teeth..

So well put together
Her laugh is enchanting
Her touch is so smooth
Her grace is breath taking.

Her coffee before work
Her heals always so clean
Her dazzling watches and gems
Silver and gold necklaces and earrings..

Straight or curly hair, doesn't matter
Her best always seems so easy
even on her worst day
She still is so dreamy..

Perfectly imperfect
All of these ideals don't mean a thing
Because inside she is hollow
So empty all you hear is echoing..

*I stand in front of the mirror
Only to see
A girl with no emotion
Staring back at me.

My Mother Ran
PaperclipPoems Jul 2015
One day she said to me
Mommy, I want to be like you.
But what she doesn't know, because she's too young to understand is that I don't even want to be me. I don't even know who I am.

I hide in my room to escape the judgements
I can hear their thoughts through their eyes. They try to solve my problems without even knowing them. They don't know how alone I feel and how torn I am between wanting to be a mother of two or a sad woman. I cannot be both. I push everyone away and immediately want them back. I'm always just hoping they will stay no matter how hard I push.

I wish I could erase all of those terrible memories from my children's heads. They don't talk about it. They just move on and I stay in regret. This puddle of regret that I love to bathe in.
Thoughts of my mother. She was always trying to escape. But you can't run from yourself.

When It Was Said and Done
PaperclipPoems Jul 2015
Lost.
His golden brown eyes drew me in like a distant light I wanted so badly to touch.

His lips, so mysterious and with the slightest smile, made me smile back and feel like I needed to hide my blushing cheeks.

His hands, as they moved, where they wanted made my head spin in circles and all I could do was close my eyes.

All of these would soon fade away and all I could feel when it was all said and done was pain. Hurt that it couldn't last forever and that I wasn't enough for you. Used because you eventually wanted that with someone other than me. Broken because our daughter was created with so much love and you turned out to be so evil. Pain because that was the only emotion left.

Under Her Mask
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
How interesting now that I realize
The truth behind my deepest despise

Of this girl, this young girl
Who invaded my home
And shattered my dreams
All those years ago

Oh the anger and the rage
When their secret was discovered
The father of my unborn baby
Had taken her as his lover.

All of the tears that I cried
Never did me any good
And even though he begged for forgiveness
And we swept it underfoot

I still thought of her often
And all these years later
She still arrives in the picture
And gives me so much anger

But the more I stop to think
The more that I see
This poor girl that I hate
Is so much like me..

I was once in her place
And I can read her pain
All of the loneliness that she feels
I can see on her face

As she tries to hide her real feelings
With a beautiful smile
She doesn't really mean harm
She just hadn't felt love in a while..

I forgive this poor girl
Even though she did not ask
Because one day I know how hard it will be
For her to face to girl under the mask.
We all make mistakes. I see inside your soul and even though I can't stand you, I feel so bad for you.

Waiting
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
How sad for you,
That you were not the chosen girl
And yet when he calls for you
You're right there.

How lonely for you,
That for years you were forgotten
Until one day he remembers you
And you're right there.

How pathetic you are,
That you have your own man
But for some reason when this one pays you attention
You're right there.

Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
You're always waiting for him.

Rant
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
Unbelievable... I can't imagine..
Being you and the man you are in such high fashion...

Being the "man" you are in such self loathe...
How pathetic you appear.. Even with my eyes closed.

How small you seem, even too the smallest ant
... How wicked your soul is even to the most ******..

How disgusting your thoughts to even the forsaken
... How dare you use me and tell me I'm mistaken

How dare you sit here and lie in my face
Confess such hurtful things then re-word them in a kinder way

You try to sugar coat the truth and pretend I can't taste..
The bitterness underneath the sweet powdered glaze

To belittle me and my feelings, you soon will realize
That my kindness to you was more than you deserved in this life

You mistook my kindness for sympathy and now you're all out of chances
I'm so over this game that you play and all of your antics.
So frustrated. So annoyed. Tired of hypocrisy and manipulation.

A Possession
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
In the most random place
In the middle of no where
I met a boy
Who turned out to be a nightmare

In a room filled with others
I felt something strange
To look up and across the room at someone
Who seemed to already know me
As my eyes met his
It felt like we were staring for days
And in that moment I knew
Everything was about to change

What felt like hours had passed
Seconds went by
Until the person I was talking to
Snapped me back to real life

I detached from his eyes suddenly
Then looked back that way
He was walking out of the room
When somebody called his name

He seemed displeased to take me
Where I needed to go
And the whole car ride there
He made me feel so uncomfortable

Feeling like a burden
Until we reached the destination
I quickly reached for the door
Then he asked to see me again...

The next time we met
A rush jolted through me
And every time after we parted
Felt like a sad story

This was all so unplanned
And I was lying to myself
Made myself believe
That I was ready for someone else

I thought I fell in love
But realized I only just fell
I hit the ground face first
And it hurt like hell

He didn't really want me
He only wanted to have me
A possession he could call his
Put me in his pocket and keep me
Just quick thoughts about a memory

Hello Cupid
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
Oh Cupid... Hello again
Have you come to send me, Yet another man
I said "Take him back, I do not want it"
He said "My dear, I promise you will love him"

"I loved the last, and he before...
And yet you do not cease to send me more..."

"This one is different, just take a glance,
He wants so desperately to hold your hand"

"As do they all, yet they leave me abandoned"

"This one I know will Not leave you saddened"

I turned to walk away,
Uninterested in what Cupid had to say

Until I bumped into the sweetest man
With eyes of gold and the strongest hands

He pulled me close and I was petrified
He asked me if I was alright

I did not speak, I could not think
I only felt his arms around me
So strong and demanding
He smiled so gently
I blushed and turned away
Before he could kiss me.

"Take him back"! I screamed at Cupid
For too many times men have left me deluded.

Most charming indeed, this man cannot stay
I looked back to him and said please go away ..

His eyes seemed to fade and his hands disappeared
He soon washed away and my mind was cleared

Cupid shook his head and flew away
But not before he got the chance to say...

"So sad my dear, that you cannot see
The result of these loves are up to thee,
You push them away and so they leave
I only bring another because you say you are lonely".
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
I let him in. I soaked all of him in. I felt the love in my heart and the obsession on my skin.

I felt his heart seep into me. I let him take hold of me. He told me I could let go, that he would always catch me.

I believed a man whose words were softer than clouds. His love spoke aloud. He tied me blind folded to a chair from the neck down.

I trusted him more than I knew I had. I thought I was so deeply in love with this man. And yet he never seemed to love me back.

After all, what is a love that abuses your soul. That rapes you of the truth and leaves you un-whole. A love that steals your warmth as you lay cold.

You believe you are smarter than I. For fooling me so many times. For cheating your way through this innocent heart of mine. You ran through me with knives and escaped out the other side. Untouched, unaffected, invincible.

I am ashamed that I was so easily fooled. That I thought you as loving, but you turned out to be cruel.

You were an artist indeed, but your instrument is not your own. You play off of others and yet they do not know. The true artwork is in the end result. When you walked away and I became the stronger individual.

The Love Drug
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
Addictions are for addicts
The most common drugs will **** you
But nobody talks about the drug that keeps an emotional hold on you

Nobody wants to mention the drug that keeps a girl running back
And every time he flirts, it hurts
and sets her in a heart attack

The emotion drug that sets you free and also keeps you in chains
You try to fight it but deep down you like it
And you can't figure out why you stay

Some call it love, some call it pain, others call it life
Either way you see it, one day you'll feel it,
and it will take you on a ride

The ups and downs, the ins and outs, eventually you will feel them all
It will break your heart to pieces
Then have you running to its call

A feeling you would die for
Just to get a taste of its lust, everything about it draws you in
You won't ever get enough

You know you're hooked on him
When you think about him day and night
His eyes, his smile, his smell, his body,
You can't stop missing him by your side

His tongue will ****** your mind
While his eyes will **** your soul,
He sees right through you,
So you let him take you down this infinite hole

If you're lucky you might wake up
To it all just a dream,
but if its real, then you're in trouble
and you might fall in too deep

I'm an addict, I'll admit it
I somewhat like the pain
It reminds me that I can still feel the love of another,
that I'm not numb to everything
This man is dangerous I know he is because he's too good to be true
but I don't care, take me down,
Because I only want you.

The Journey
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
As time began to peel back new chapters of life, the people we were faded away and new people emerged. Maybe we bring out the worst in each other, which is worse for the both of us.

Two different paths and  two different people try to walk the same road, but we bump each other off the path and we stumble and we fall. We stop along the way and argue about which way to go, and sometimes we talk about separating. No decision is right, so therefore every direction is wrong in its own way.

You want to stop and savor the journey while I want to get where we're going. Even if we both got our way we would still be in this struggle. Maybe it's just who we are.

We started on this journey together, not knowing where this path would lead us. And even through the mountains and rivers, we held each other's hand and somehow made it through. But this feeling has never been stronger. And I truly believe that when we started this path, the future ahead was bright, but now all I see and feel are dark clouds and I don't think there are sunny days to look forward too.

I might be able to trick myself for a short while, and I may believe my own deceitfulness, but I know I could never fool you. And would I want to? I know how you hate wasting time but I'm still figuring it out. The checks and balances are hard to weigh. They are difficult to think about and make this walk very depressing.

I walk in front, with you right behind me. It's a quiet day and cloudy, but just the right temperature. There is wind, but I don't feel it and I can't hear it. But I know it's there by the way the trees move. I wonder if you can feel it.

I kick the rocks as we walk and sometimes I wish the path was big enough so that we could walk next to one another. Sometimes we pass others and smile. The first smile in days. Their smiles look genuine though. But I guess you can never really tell.

This path looks and feels like a million dollar forest painting with beautiful landscaping. The path is not set for us, is one that we must make on our own. Some paths make more sense than others and sometimes it feels more like a maze. I will always fight for my way and dispute why my path makes more sense, but every once and a while you will do the same and I will have to follow your lead. I don't particularly like this and I will often find myself talking back like a child, but I follow regardless because it's better than being alone.

The forest is a big and scary place and when it turns dark I hate to think about what I might do alone... I mean really alone, physically. Emotionally, I am already there.

Sometimes I think that if I were alone, I might not feel alone. I might enjoy the path I make for myself and maybe even stop to pick a flower because I can, and there would be nobody tailing me. Just me.

Nobody to tell me what to look at and what to smell. It would be my decision. It would be because that's what I want. And there would be nobody to try and tell me things about myself that aren't true. Nobody that tries to bring me down for what I think or feel. I could uplift myself and walk faster if I wanted to and I could sit on the riverbank and dip my toes in the water if I wanted to and I could sing if I wanted to and I could ... Because I wanted to. No regret. No shame. Just peacefulness.

It sounds so nice, but would it turn out to be as nice as imagined? Probably not. It never is. Just like this walk with you. It sounded nice. But it isn't.
Life is about the journey, not the destination.

Fear of Men
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
So much hurt, so much pain
You'd never know it by just a glance
You'd never feel her timid fear of you
While you shake her hand

You'd never know she was touched and abused
By the smile she gives you
And you'd never think twice about her innocence
Because of the way she moves you.

You'd never know of her fear of men
Because she seems so bold
But appearances can be misleading
And her eyes do not tell the story of her soul.

Alone deep inside
She sits and she wonders
Where her heart and soul have ran off to
And why they left without her.

Never Scared
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
I'm never scared
That's what I say
Because deep inside, I scream lies
And that's why I'm this way.
My soul holds all these secrets
While my heart silently cries
Everyday I try to let go of this chaos
That my better half tries to hide
I appear to be together
But inside I'm a mess
I blame my twisted thoughts and dreams
That bring me this distress..
I blame those hurtful memories
That gave me this despair
"How fortunate" you reply to me
When I say I'm never scared.

I fall so deeply in love so quickly
And fall out just as fast

These secrets are everything to do with it
And they have complete control
So don't ask me to let you in
Because they force me to say no

These secrets are demons
Who tricked their way in
They turned my pure and innocent heart
Into darkness and sin

This numbness is the best friend
That I never asked for
The one that I never realized
I bargained for

In exchange for the pain
That I felt every day
The numbness came in and asked if he could take it away

There were no terms or conditions
In exchange for relief
Just pure satisfaction
That I was no longer weak

But as time passed on
I realized what he had done
Not only did he suppress my pain
But he also stole my love

The ability to love so deeply
That pain could break me
At times I have thanked him
But more often I feel lonely

I fell in love with you
I've never had love so pure
Why my best friend, this darkness
Let it happen, I'm not sure

He's never been one to share
So I'm worried about what he'll do
That's why I'm scared to let you in,
Because he never makes room for two

I think I gave him my soul..
And he ate it with a smile
As he kindly burned the pain away
And swept the ashes into a pile

He showed me how to live without love
Sometimes I feel like I owe him
For mentoring me as I grew up
I used to be thankful to have him

I realize now that I messed up
And I made a mistake
I can't be happy without your love
And I can't have love without pain

I shouldn't have let him take over
My soul became nearly black
I can survive on your love
So I'm accepting all of the pain back

Your love is strong enough
To carry my dark and regretful past
I trust you with my life and my heart
I believe that we could last.

Your life was so precious
And I took that away
Even though you can't hear me now
There's still some things I need to say..
It's all still so real
And the real pain is in my heart
I loved you then and I love you now
Yet you barely had a start.
Whether a little boy or a girl
You were a blessing either way
Following in the footsteps of your sister
Who would have loved for you to stay.
If I wasn't so selfish,
And If I wasn't so scared
I should have kept you with me
Your life I should have spared ..
Knowing that you would have been mine
But only half of your sister
Would have hurt so many people
And caused such a twister.
But you would have been worth it
And none of it would have mattered
Letting you go is my only regret
That will have me forever shattered
I think about you every day
And wish I would have chosen differently
I wish that I could have you in my arms And feel you growing inside of me.
I was supposed to protect you
But I betrayed you instead
It's the strongest regret I've ever felt
It's a constant pounding in my head.
I still feel u in my heart
Sometimes I swear you speak to me
In ways I can't explain
And I swear sometimes I feel you with me .

I'm No Good For You
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
I was young and I was hurt
Somehow you swept me off my feet
There was something about your golden eyes
And the way you wanted me

I was infatuated with you
I feel in love too deep
To the point where I was below the tide
Without you I couldn't breathe

Then one day I was hurt again
By yet another lover
But this time was different than before
Because this time I didn't recover

This time it broke my spirit
And this time changed my perception towards love
This time your apologies and promises
Would never be enough

I tried to move past it
Believe me, I wanted to move on
But something about you still in my life
Felt so desperately wrong

Your love for me has grown
And you are a better man today
But despite all of your new found qualities
Those memories and that hurt still remain

You take my hand and all you ask
Is that I try to love you in return
But I can't bring myself to agree
To say 'I love you' nearly burns

This aching in my heart
Causes a throbbing in my head
I contemplate and argue with myself
I want to live with you, but you make me feel dead

My body is living, I am here
Trying to feel things I did once
Fighting with myself against these
Demons that replaced my love

I don't know if this is a battle
Worth fighting anymore
I've been trying to push you away
But you stay and I don't know what for

I say things and I hurt you
Like cannons in a war
But you continue to stand there
And you lay down your sword

You try to get closer to me
You ignore these land mines I lay down
All of my tactics and all of my walls
Do not prevent you from gaining ground

And in a sense I hate myself
For allowing you to stay
Knowing how much I hurt you
And letting you live this way

You could be my best friend the way you keep my secrets
No other lover other than you knows my desires before I speak them
Your voice relaxes my body and makes my heart beat jump around
I could lay here all day just listening to the sound
I wish I could lay here all day and wake up in your arms
Open my eyes and start a new day with you at dawn
I'm always in a dream like trance for days before and after I see you
I'm off in a far away land where all I see is you
Your smile has a way with me, you could get anything you want
All you need to do is ask and I'd gladly make it yours
I just want to lay on the beach with you all day and let the waves touch our toes
With my head on your chest, forgetting all our troubles.

You may not realize this now
But you and I were once the same
We were both unfaithful and both unhappy
And we both turned a little insane.

We both tried to fix each other
And then we tried to fix us
We both were so passionate about each other
And we both lost each other's trust.

You and I were the same person,
It's just that our timing was off..
You and I are incredible individuals
But together we are lost.

Together we are two different storms
One tornado and one hurricane
Tearing apart one another
Leaving each other in broken remains.

Our love was never true
It was always forceful and jealous
Our passion, as it grew
Our lives became more hellish..

I am sad now that I know it's over
But I know that this is best
I hope we both take away something good from this
And put true love to the test.

Shadow Friend
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
Hello best friend
How are you doing today
I would tell you how I'm doing
But I know you know already.
I wake up with you, I walk with you
But yet you hide in the shadows
You feel sympathetic for me
When others find me shallow
After remaining strong all day
I come home and collapse in your darkness
My only true place of freedom to express my sadness.
You sit and listen as I recant my dreadful day
and even though you can't respond
I can feel you listening.
I can feel you try to comfort me
As we just sit there in silence
Your presence is always relieving

My love is like a feather in the wind.. Seeming so harmless and soft. If just for a second you could grab it and hold onto it to feel how smooth... But you will always let go. You will always drop me from your hands. Why? Because who needs a feather after all...
A feather once belonged to something alive.. It once was part of hundreds of other like pieces and was a whole. One by one they fell off and this feather flew away on her own. Waiting for someone to pick her up and notice her again. Although she is not whole, she is still beautiful in her own way. As an individual. As one piece alone. But what could you use her for? What is her purpose....
When you let go she will then again drift away and find another place. She will seem peaceful, but lost. Unaccompanied by companions and will drift so far that would make you wonder where she came from. Out of her element and now misplaced.. Not lost.

Pain and I
PaperclipPoems Jun 2015
I am never alone
You see, I have a friend
Who wakes me up
And never leaves my bed
Who talks to me
And knows my soul
If you were to look you would see no one
But I am surely not alone.
My friend is the kind you wouldn't like around
She's bothersome and weary
She likes to invade in my private space
She wants to be my one and only
She knows no boundaries
She knows not of what is right
She only knows what is wrong
And reminds me in flashbacks of my life
You know her as pain
An emotion with no face
But I tell you now, she has one
And she wears no shame.
Her hands as they touch me
Are cold and empty
Her eyes as she sees me
Are dark and heavy
She sleeps with me
Even though I beg her to leave
I yell and scream at her
And she still holds onto me..
So tight she squeezes
She holds back tears as she asks me about love
As if I would know...
I tell her all I feel is numb..
