When life gives you lemons
What do you say?
Do you keep them for yourself?
Or give them away?

Will they be sour if you eat them?
Or sweet if you leave them?
You’ll never really know
If you never receive them 🍋

Shining a light through
To a place i cannot see
Searching through the darkness
To find the light in me

It comes and goes in waves
As they crash beyond the sea
Illuminating barriers
That are longing to be free

“Back to You”
Radhika Lusted Sep 2020
I chase my mind
where the sun won’t shine
And i hear you in places
I cannot find

My soul it rings
For your touch it sings
And i hear it
In all the silent things

That empty rush
that passes through
For it always leads me
Back to you

“Puzzle pieces”
Radhika Lusted Sep 2020
Words just wander
In my mind
But all the pieces
Hard to find

What are they?
And where do they
come to go?
Like missing pieces
of a puzzle
I’ll never know

Another night
i lay to rest
With all these words
But what a test

Find the meaning
say what’s best
But sometimes it’s
just saying less

What is this feeling
I can't seem to shake?
I know im not dreaming
But i dont feel awake

I look all around me
But nothing feels real
My heart keeps on pounding
it's all i can feel

What is this feeling
that steals all my breath?
Whatever i do
it won't make me fear less

I look at the world
But it's just one big dream
Reality is fading
It's not what it seems

I call out for help
But nobody can hear me
The silence within
Is all that is near me

Im trapped in my mind
with no place to go
this life is an illusion
im all on my own
A poem about the struggles i used to have with derealisation, i also struggles greatly with depersonalisation and the feeling of being outside of my body and watching myself. It can be an extremely scary and frightening experience

Within itself
For fear can only
Fear itself

You see how i feel
Through the eyes of my soul
I open my windows
to help you feel whole

Alone you are not
For within them i guide you
to show you the ways
in which happiness finds you

“The Career”
Radhika Lusted Feb 2020
It’s a crazy world we live in
Feeding doubt with fear
Living in regret
Year after year
Thinking of a dream
But is it ever near?
You’ll only live a happy life
If you per-sue this one career
But is that what you want?
Or what you’re brainwashed
to believe?
You’ve been taught to work for life
So that you never have to leave
Forever incomplete
As we search for finish lines
We’ve been running for so long
That now we’re running out of time
Living life to die
While we’re dying to live
Cause this empty pointless life
Has nothing to give

Early morning
Rise and shine
There’s no more waiting
Nows the time

You’ve come this far
Don’t turn back now
Take a breath
You know just how

The signs have told you
The time is near
The world is yours
So listen clear

The words you speak
You’ll speak them loud
For the voice you have
Must be endowed
You’re on the right path.

“The System”
Radhika Lusted Sep 2019
Persuaded in masses
To control the population
We’re all a predicament
Of the same situation

Born into captivity
To think that we’re free
Living through eyes
That are too blind to see
Another poem about the blind
Radhika Lusted Sep 2019
Everything is nothing
And nothing’s what it seems
For every step we’re taking’s
In another hidden dream

Reality is fading
As our conscious remains blind
We cannot see how quickly
We’re running out of time

We catch up to the future
Just to find out it’s the past
And wake up into bodies
That were never made to last

Trapped in programmed minds
Defined by infinite conclusions
We’re eternal living mysteries
Of chaos and confusion

But tell me are you scared?
Or is it just because you’re blind?
You’re looking for the answers
Through eyes you cannot find

Your soul already knows the things
Your brains don’t want to hear
Because the truth of our reality
Can be a recipe for fear

And it’s incomprehensible
The details left to find
For we cannot begin to process
The depth of our design

So we sit here drowned in wonder
By a world that makes no sense
If existence is eternal
What happens when this one ends?

I guess we’ll never know
What we weren’t made to understand
So we continue searching endlessly
And do so as we’re planned

On this never ending roller coaster
That can never be rewound
It’s hard to find the answers
If they weren’t made to be found

We grow and we grow
Till there’s no place to go
Living our life
To the eternal flow

But why did we come
If we don’t get to stay?
What is the point
If it’s taken away?

And what does it mean
If it’s all just for nothing?
What is, simply isn’t
If it’s not all for something

You gave me this life
Just to feel less alive
If the purpose i live for
Is only to die

"Scorpio - The Dark Side"
Radhika Lusted Sep 2018
Mysterious and unseen
A master of the dark and light
And all in-between
When she looks into your soul
Hers is enough to burn it to the ground
But also ****** it to the very core
She is a force of nature
An unstoppable wave of chaos and purity
that’ll throw you so off course
you’ll forget what it was ever like
to not have her in your life
She will read your mind
with the power to take every last bit
of strength you have
until you regret ever standing in her path
Do not ever lie to her
For she does not handle deceit lightly
Vengeance is her first, middle and last name
And her type of revenge is an evil noone
would wish to encounter
A queen of manipulation at her finest
she will see into your soul
long before you catch a glimpse
and change the way you think
to mend what she craves and the
desire that she seeks

She is a Scorpio,
And if you think you can escape her

You've already lost.
A poem dedicated to my sister who wanted me to write one about her, but is also dedicated to parts of myself and any other scorpios out there that can relate. She is the darker side of the scorpio and i am the lighter, but this poem portrays more of the darker side.

"The Evil Shadow"
Radhika Lusted Aug 2018
There once was an evil shadow
Who's body noone saw
He slept upon the daylight
But woke upon the fall

The fall of which we know of
As day turns into night
The name of which is nightfall
Brings shivers to our life

For when the clock struck midnight
And all was fast asleep
The unseen evil shadow
Came into dark to creep

He stole and struck the people
From all the towns of grace
To capture souls of infants
From the entire human race

They never understood it
They never knew quite why
But slowly in the darkness
Their souls began to die

And from that moment forward
The people who once lived there
We're long forgotten in mysteries
Of who
And when
And where
I wrote this poem when i was a little girl and changed it up a bit to post here but not too much because i didn't want to ruin the memories i have of it, but i hope you guys enjoy as this poem will always have a special place in my heart :)

Someone help my soul reprieve
the damage has been done
I tried to love
But all i lost
is now what i've become
A poem i wrote when i was younger and had my first heartbreak. It literally felt like it could not escape the damage

Down down below me
A place with no hope
Where all that can find me
Is this unwinding rope

In a place filled with darkness
We’re just trapped in the pain
From the cuts in our skin
To the thoughts in our brains

But one day in life
When we all come to die
The shadows of death
Take us into the sky

To a place where we're freed
From this life that we've shaped
And we're finally given
The chance to escape
This poem emphasies the figmentation in our brains when we are in our depression and feel almost as if we literally cannot escape.
I apologise if this upsets anyone, there is always help out there and i am always here to talk <3
Radhika Lusted Aug 2018
We're a contradiction

For with every breath
We live to die
But with every beat
We die to live.

Like a shell the woods hollow
Like water the sunshine leaks
As the leaves pass me by
I'm awoken with the calmest breeze

I hear the silent whisper
I see the glow of gold
I know that you are with me
Forever till i'm old
A poem i wrote originally about feeling at peace and the calmness of knowing my mum is always with me, even when she isn't there. But then dedicated it to a passing of life in general and the quietness we feel but the sense of comfort we still have knowing they are always watching over us.

I cannot see what you feel
I cannot feel what you taste
These senses are plenty
But boy what a waste
In a world filled with wonder
It's a shame not to feel
Surrender our demons
in order to heal
My cries they are patient
to those who can hear
but the shadows that follow
are ever so near
So come light a candle
from the tunnels inside
And face back those mirrors
For these demons,
They hide.
A poem i wrote about the feelings we hide and the demons we all have inside that we constantly turn away from instead of facing, and that by giving them up, we are also giving up the pain we need to free ourselves.

"The Sun"
Radhika Lusted Aug 2018
The Sun,
A smiling face on the darkest day
The only thing that reminds me to
move forward, with open eyes
A heart sustained
So close in the distance
to a world waiting at the grasp of
my fingertips
but still hidden in the shadows that
lurk beneath
I close my eyes
but still, she awakens
And in her rays, i do too
She is there for me in the darkest times,
and makes them my lightest
The Sun,
My home.
A poem i wrote about depression and the fact that no matter how dark it gets, the sun will always rise to take you away from the darkness. No matter what happens it will always rise to guide you through everyday and shine its light on the future that lies ahead. I dedicated it to my mum for she is the literal and figurative sun in my life and the most beautiful thing to ever shed light in my life.
