You saw me and you knew i was just a little bit sleepy but why did you burn the incense and cried in front of me?

[I wasn't dead... yet]

You begged and begged so i would make it easier for you but you did not know i am god and immortal and i know everything right and wrong, so

what if i chose the latter?

----

[I didn't, though.]
I won't free you from guilt and shame
I won't let your anger fade
But i let you die, i did
And so you did, you died
Along with our hair-
Dead on the floor

This time I am determined,
that trophy of superficial happiness shall be mine.
It is my time, to shine, to dine, merrily, be the star that never shone.

If I could gather your attention,
Just for one second of your time,
because time is of the essence.
I would like to raise a glass,
to my shimmering, glimmering, future.

Long live this temporary sentiment.
I shall be happy, for as long as possible.

my thoughts drift away
to the soft brown hues
of your hair beneath sunlight,
times
when your best friend
was down the hall to the right,
and those
nights
full of laughter
as campfire sparks
singed my hair, secret
moments
where the rumble of your voice
sung in my ear and
your intoxicated bedroom eyes-
I touch your scar and remember
not all scars can be seen, but
the beat of your heart
against my bare skin reminds me
we are not broken souls beneath
twilight stars, but
one soul beating with a singular heart
awaiting the oncoming dawn

Let's prance
Then dance
Let's run
And make fun
Let's cook
Then book
A flight
With a kite
Let's pick some flowers
And build some towers
Let's cry
Then try
To fix up
The mix-up
Let's be together
Forever and ever
Because you're my Best Friend
And on each other we can always *depend
It started out me aiming to create a cheerful poem , then turned into a BFF poem , and it was neat how the rhymed endings just came to me , not quite easy with rhyming :)
I like how this poem is cheerful , its a bit change from the sad poetry filling this website , not that its bad , there are tons of great poems that are sad and depressing but absolutely were wonderfully written , but its nice to have some funny cheerful poetry once in a while ;)

Sometimes I hug her in the morning and she smells like **** water,
ontop of her head is a big messy bun,
on her body is a flowing skirt and a crop top.

Her lips are full and her eyes are wide and shes lovely to me.

Sometimes I hug her in the morning and she smells like cigarettes,
once I let her go the smell lingers on my sweater and I love it because it reminds me of her.

She had dark circles under her eyes,
pine needles in her hair and shes lovely to me.

Sometimes I hug her in the morning and she smells like roses,
wide eyes and beautiful,
quiet yet well spoken.

She is a girl of many identities and shes lovely to me.

I want to run.
Be free.
Be the little girl they see in me,
but plot-twist happen frequently,
opening your eyes to things you didn't see.
Burning the cheerful into your mind.
If only I didn't once leave that behind.
If I could return to those naive, fun days.
But fun was out and sad was in,
so I figured "well okay."
I dived right in,
singeing my skin,
turning me to the pit.
I was told,
"don't follow your instincts",
so I guess this is what I get.
Now I sit alone,
a pitiful lump of coal,
as a dog without bone,
or soccer ball with no goal.
I'm heading to "God knows where"
on a train called "Oopsy Days,"
and when I arrive,
they will all be amazed.
For I am the writer
who will give them a story,
for I am a lighter,
and my flame gives me glory.
