Only Jesus
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
You are our savior
You are our father
You are our faith
You are the way
You are our love
You are up above
You are my soul
You make me whole
You are everything
You are...
My only Jesus
I know not everyone believes in Jesus, but he will save you as long as you repent your sins because he loves us all!

Normalcy
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
Why don't they let us express ourselves?

Is it because it's inappropriate?

The norm of society thinks so

And what is normal anyway?

We want to be ourselves

But if we do, they will shun us away

We need to find a place where we belong

Let's go to a place, where we can be free.
I saw a part in a movie (I can't remember the name of it) but there was this woman who was at a meeting, and all of a sudden she stands up on the table and starts dancing. I thought it was so funny and at the same time, very odd :)
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
Driving on a long dark, winding road

Cars passing me by with their bright lights

Blinding my eyes on this lonely road

Time just seems to go by so slowly.

As I listen to the radio

Why does it feel lonely, I don't know

But I got to keep moving somehow

'Cause I need to get somewhere right now.

Angel
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
I saw your face when I heard the news

I cried too because you were so nice

I swear, I thought you were an angel.

I didn't know you, but you touched me

You sacrificed yourself for this man

That is why you are up in heaven.
I had got inspired with this story I saw in Japan. It was about a woman that saved this person on the train tracks, however, she died because of it. Her story touched me, and  I just couldn't believe someone would do something like that.

Inazuma (Lightning)
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
As I drive by, electricity fills the sky!

What beauty these lights have within
this powerful sight.

There's so much energy, and the force is
tremendous!

Oh, how these lights are so pretty
but so dangerous.

If you blink, you just might miss it
...so look carefully!

And you will see, how spectacular
it is really.
I wrote this when I was driving to work one morning :)

Love Rain
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
I can hear the raindrops coming from outside.

They are falling as the evening becomes night.

Hearing them made me want to write.

If you listen closely, you can hear music right?

And now I wish you were here tonight.

As I sit here, I wonder what it would be like?
I got inspired in my bedroom :)

Kono Kimochi (This Feeling)
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
My heart has been ripped and it is still beating.

When I'm out of control, I find myself changing.

So I curse and yell and continue to keep going.

I don't want to fight, but I want to tell you something.

Then I cry and cry until there is nothing.

Do you know what it's like to have this feeling?

Kaze (The Wind)
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
The wind is blowing now.
I can feel it through my hair.
It's like they are whispering.
Can't you see?

The wind is passing through the trees.
They rock back and forth like they are dancing.
I can feel it on my skin.
Today it begins.

The wind comes and goes.
And it will catch you by surprise.
It feels so good.
Is it understood?

The wind is by my side.
Like a lover or a friend.
You will be gone, but you will come back.
Until we meet again.
Obviously, I got inspiration from the title lol. Hope you enjoy!

Mixed Emotions
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
I don't want to let you down
and I hate it.
And now I am angry at you
for giving something I gave you.

A bit of jealousy came over me
when you two were together.
Now I feel left out and yell,
"Thanks for ignoring me!"

Then I miss the other part of me,
and I just want you by my side.
I shut myself out
and dare say anything,
for I am trying to tell you
how I feel without words.

Does that make any sense?
I'm not so sure,
but all I know is I got to
open myself up to you,
and then I'll be "OK."

Tada No Yume (Just A Dream)
Susan Nishimoto Jun 2020
How come I feel like my dream is so far away?

How do I know if it is really meant for me?

Maybe my dream will come true on some other day.

Maybe all I have to do is to try and see.

Will I ever reach my dream, I do not know.

Will I just sit back and wait, and let my dream go?

Must there be a way for me to find out somehow?

Must there be a destiny waiting for me now.
My dream was to be a Singer! What is your dream?

We Are United
Susan Nishimoto Oct 2019
The world feels your pain and sorrow.

The world sees your emptiness and suffering.

The world hears your cries and prayers.

The world knows you're lost and scared inside.

The world hopes and wants you to find peace and comfort.

And the world loves and wants you to find strength

and to keep the faith.
This poem is inspired by the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Ongaku (Music)
Susan Nishimoto Oct 2019
Music runs in my blood as my heart beats faster.

It takes me to another world, oh I feel joy!

With words I can't explain, music is my one love.

Such as this, no one can ever understand me.

Without it, I could not live and that is my death.

Music is in my soul and it is forever.

Words Left Unsaid
Susan Nishimoto Oct 2019
I know you want to help me,
but you do have a weird way of showing it.

Instead of telling me what to do,
why don't you let me handle it?

You want what's best for me but it's my future;
let me decide for myself.

Can't you see,
I am much of a better person than I used to be?

I got a long way to go,
so please don't worry so much;
just let me be.

And bear with me for now,
that maybe later on, you will think differently.

Trees
Susan Nishimoto Oct 2019
What is it about trees that make them so special?

Why is it that they make me have a sense of peace?

Is it because trees are really alive like us?

Or that they stand so tall, reaching towards the sky?

What do trees remind us of when we look at them?

Why do they make me smile when I look at them?

Is it because trees are really like people too?

Or that they too, seem to have no care in the world?
I had written this when I was at work, since there's a lot of trees around :)

Yakusoku (Promise)
Susan Nishimoto Oct 2019
I remember when I was little,
I used to dance in your room.

I don't know why,
but I guess I really liked your room!

At your wedding,
I called your name all the time.

You were so beautiful to me,
I wished you were mine.

I never knew how much you loved me until now.
And I will give you my promise when I have taken my vow.

You told me you were proud of me,
and you were filled with surprise.

You said,"I always wish for your happiness,"
tears fill my eyes.
Susan Nishimoto Oct 2019
Fall is my favorite time of the year.

You can already tell when Fall is coming near.

The air is cool, and it is so perfect.

The leaves are falling as if they are imperfect!

The colors are changing from green to yellow and red.

I really can almost sense what the birds have just said.

They are chirping away in the trees like a song.

To me,

Fall makes me feel that there is absolutely nothing wrong!
I had written this when I was at a park sitting on a bench :)

Shinjiru (Believe)
Susan Nishimoto Sep 2019
I don't want you to worry anymore.
I don't know how many times I have said it before.

It's going to be alright,
trust me; you aren't going anywhere.

God will take the pain, alright,
believe me; God will be with you everywhere.

I love you too much to see you leave;
I don't know what to do if you leave.

But I know if I love you so,
I have to let you go.

So I wish you the best,
for God will take care of the rest.

With You
Susan Nishimoto Sep 2019
Imagine my arms wrapped around you, holding you tight.
My lips kissing your forehead, and my hand gently touching the side
of your face.

You feel my touch and the warmth it gives you.
You smile when I say the words,"I love you."

I'll comfort you and stay by your side forever.
I'll never leave you, so please stay with me forever.

When you think of me, remember all the times that we shared
together.
When you look at me, remember that we were always meant to be
together.

Misery
Susan Nishimoto Sep 2019
All you do is bring me down
Bring me down.
Am I not good enough?

You make the same mistake too
What did I do?
Nobody's perfect, but you.

Take a good look in the mirror
So what do you see...
Me.

I'm losing my mind
Why can't you leave me alone?
You're haunting me.

Now that you're gone
I'm free.
Are you happy now?

Crush
Susan Nishimoto Sep 2019
I forgot you, though we meet again.

Didn't know you were still around.

The memories come back to me.

You were always there and I never knew.

It feels like I know you but I don't.

So much has changed, you're not the same.

I have a crush on you. Is this OK?

You mean much more to me than you'll ever know.

Is it wrong to feel this way?

Sayonara
Susan Nishimoto Sep 2019
Your smile and voice is all I remember, but I was too shy to say hello.
I miss you, I miss you so. Why did you have to go? Will I ever know?

All I wanted was to say goodbye... and I cry.
You left this world and everything behind it.

You will never know what you mean to me, cause you were a part of me... a part of me.
If only you can be saved... I would, believe me.

I will never forget when I met you, and you will be a memory.
A memory so distant, only time can tell.

And when that time comes, I will be there on the other side.
Goodbye.
A little background of this poem...I had met Linkin Park when I was in high school, and after hearing about Chester Bennington's death, I wrote this poem.

You were a star, a star I never knew.
But I loved you, what can I do?

I can feel you're presence all around me.
How can this be? Is this a dream or is this fantasy?

It's strange... but I think you were born in another life.
This maybe crazy but... can I be your wife?

No one knew what happened that day.
We will never know come what may.

So even though you're gone, your music will still live on.
Now I can see you more than ever.

And I know we cannot be together.
I was inspired by Prince!

Otogibanashi (Fairy Tales)
Susan Nishimoto Sep 2019
Fairy tales are lies, lies
What happened to my prince?

He's imaginary
'Cause it's a fantasy

Where are you now my prince?
I believed you would come

Take me to your castle
So we can run away

I want to be with you
Don't leave me here my dear

The ending is near, near
Why did you deceive me?
