Sometimes the blind
Lead the wide eyed,
Even in darkness
And glimmering light,
Our hearts skip once
For echoes to show -
hiding in shadows
when love starts to grow,
I’ll whisk you up -
Intertwining
The cyclone of love.
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
Keep me close at night,
I want our hearts to beat in
One dreamy rhythm.
Wrote a few love Haiku's. I hope you like them! :D
Ryan Holden May 2017
You're the stars and moon,
My life, my tune,
Soul mate,
Best friend,
My wife,
Best thing in my life,
Hold me close as you sleep,
On my chest in a heap,
Hold onto me like glue,
Don't let go,
Our bodies intertwine,
Like a corkscrew.
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
Not only does
The early bird
Catch the worm,
But they see the earth
Open into glorious horizons,
Over her blanket.
My first attempt at a Tanka style. I hope you like it anyway :)
Ryan Holden Nov 2017
Howling fur shivers
Through the snowfall leaning on
A rock at moonlight.
Ryan Holden May 2017
How many rhymes and lines,
Have met the same paper,
With the same pen,
Minds thoughts and designs,
Differ from poet to next,
Lyricists to artists,
Beginning a new quest,
Breaking and making,
Pain and love,
Experienced emotions lay down,
Written in rhythm,
Express to distress,
Tearing page after page,
Of flooding emotions,
Signature of similar,
Inked on white,
Within multiple occasions,
How many authors,
Write the same write?
Whilst I was picking a new topic to write, I suddenly thought, how many writers write the same thing, in similar form, but the writers aren't aware of!
Ryan Holden Aug 2018
Grab me, pull me close,
Look into my eyes like you
Are hungry for more.
Just something that sprung to mind
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
I am a thin sheet
Of ice, I will crack through and
You will fall with me.

But I'm scared to swim
I might choke on a wave of
Fear and loneliness.

I scare you won't dive
In this water after me,
And I'll drown alone.

I need to feel heat
That radiates from your bones,
Heating my dry skin that seems
To flake away with everything
I cared about.

Just tie the anchor
Around my jelly like legs
Let me sink below.

I won't be the man
In fairytales or your dreams
I will be fiction.

Hopefully I can
Give more love to the ocean
And be lost treasure
x3 Haiku X1 Tanka x3 Haiku - all making one poem :)
Ryan Holden Oct 2017
If I whispered in
your ear, what you want to hear
Would you stay, my dear?
Ryan Holden May 2017
If I was an eagle,
Soaring through skies,
If I was a cloud,
And my inner self dries.

If I was a giant,
Who never hurt flies,
If I was a demon,
With red, behind my eyes.

If I was Benedict Arnold,
Who always told lies,
Would you still love me,
Despite my disguise?
Just a quick write :)
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
If only we were
Dogs, unconditionally
Loving without thought.

The world would form a
Bond, that would be unable
to perish or break.
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
Before I started draining parts of me
onto this page
I couldn't see for the clearest of paths,
I would dwell,
Hide away in my own safe house
Of saturated stories.

I would scratch my head catching gravity
between my fingertips.
A color would be a rainbow in black skies
of circling crows.

The floor around me would move
dancing along,
It would lead me and my pen to paper
Like a knight's sword to stone.
I would wonder why my mind
Could paint,
My thoughts would explode
into millions of fireflies.

Sometimes I would see the most
flawless imagery
But I couldn't write it down for the awe
of being lost,
Inside my own world of untold stories,
and poetry.
For the times I don't get chance to write down my thoughts!
Ryan Holden Jan 2018
I know this life can be strange
The simplicity of love,
nor wavering expressions
nor the walls that you put up.

Knowing I'm not alone,
with your warm lifted soul,
a drink of sap from the tree
you've gently nurtured for me.

She has everything to give
in this large, limited world,
so...
I stopped looking for more stones
When I knew, I found a pearl.
Ryan Holden Sep 2018
Give an impression
That you are free, chances are
Your flock will leave too.
People who attract the wrong attention. Ask for the wrong results.
Ryan Holden Jan 2018
The imprint you leave on my bed
is marked for my comfort -
The intangible smell
on my unwashed sheets -
I would wear them like a coat
if it meant I carried your scent,
I would wash them if it meant
I will see you again -
But most of all
I want this imprint to be,
an everlasting dent.
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
He squeezes her shape into a suit that fits
But happily disregards the ones that don't,
As every material or materialistic item
Is merely just temporary clothing he wears for his comfort.

Her silky waist down and up to her cotton flammable heart,
Both burn and tear just as easy as the next,
Despite his sweet persona,
He's as bitter and acidic as chemistry gone wrong.

But he washes and rinses her into a wave of hope,
And she drowns,
Because she has been habituated to drowning.

Cold bones is her love,
But he always glides away like a ghost in the night,
Questioning whether he bleeds the same blood,
Because is it humanly possible to do the things he could.

She has dreamt of his silhouette all night
But is unable to see the whole faded image,
The silence has become part of her,
You clipped the angel wings she would bare just for you
And is no longer able to fly.

Instead she drowns in an ocean that you quaked,
Suffocated on an island of crashed cold bones,
Cold, cold bones.

Even when she was the soldier
That never fled from battle,
You made her the brute
With a machine heart and machine mind,
Steered from her innocence
And tenderness to be kind.
As promised! Just a quick writen whilst on my lunch break at work! Haha.

Ok so I recorded this through my earphones and laptop. It's been a month now so I need constructive criticism. I hope you like it anyway, it's only a preview at the minute until I get to a studio to record it :))

1st Verse/16 Bars
I'm trying to earn more pennies to mark me a moment in life,
A moment in time, I should probably drop this razor sharp knife,
I need to Push forward through this crowd of confusion,
But your in delusion with these rhymes that I'm using and abusing
Cos I'm confusing, consuming, choosing and amusing myself,
refusing so I'm producing more tracks for consuming and wealth,
Snapping your neck at every single beat, whilst you're tapping your feet,
So all  sit back with some popcorn you're in for a much needed treat,
I ponder and wander in my mind sometimes as I see painted pictures,
when I paint I find a story or a rhyme using these triggers,
Whilst I play with words that take years to carve and curve,
something harder to learn and yearn into something much more worth,
More to you than me so my life had, meaning from my birth,
Ripping up turf, trying to find words beneath the core of earth,
So I rap in metaphoric tongue because I'm using poetic justice,
you're frowned from above whilst you try master and craft this.

(Chorus 1)
In order to survive,
Do all you can in life,
Make yourself feel alive,
In order to survive.

(2nd Verse/14 bars)
I use a form of speech that frees the soul to reach your own goal,
so you won't be buried inside you'll confide in deep parts using coal,
to set fire to bars you spit, ripping and fitting every single hole,
Whilst I rap I'm reforming and morphing them into some sort of mold,
Because while I'm hitting, n knitting bars like threads and then sowing,
the lawn whilst I'm mowing n showing people I'm always growing,
in capacity and trying to shove off some of the animosity,
the world's in atrocity whilst I'm producing I feel it subconsciously,
As we would say in Great Britain would you like a cup of Rosie Lee
and then In France they say no musketeers without the three,
but I found me as I perfect and refine every single line,
lyrics so evil I'll be committing a grade A crime,
in time for these dimes to drop without single a fine,
Lyrics so sour you may as well **** a lime.

(Chorus 2)
In order to survive,
Do all you can in life,
Make yourself feel alive,
Find a future or wife,

(3rd Verse/14bars)
I can rap like I'm insane but other rappers are plain,
No strawberry or chocolate just vanilla milkshake,
I dream of crowds shouting my name not in vain,
Because within this ink I'm pouring my soul through pain,
Razor, scissors and chainsaws will cut you all the same,
Like these lines that will cut you up whilst I'm in the game,
i hope you realise but this whole rap is one big metaphor,
A rise to the fame and all the glory comes with downpour,
Crying so hard he might flood the whole ground floor,
Biting so hard into the rap hes got lockjaw,
I hope my next song will be featuring someone who killed a
situation to diffuse the rhyme from the bigger picture,
I'm Slitting my veins to bleed and produce on this page,
trying to push and pull salary above the minimum wage.

(Chorus 1x2)
My next rap I wanted to play with it a little. With some detailed rhyme schemes. It's not finished yet but I hope you like the roughs. Audio to come soon :) (Try rapping it to a "boom bap" beat ;)
Ryan Holden May 2017
Eating, away at your conscience,
Narrowing your vision,
Altering reality and fairytales,
But easily obtained,
Constant internal battle,
Nothing can make this mind,
As Beautiful as a butterfly.
A poem about insecurities.
Ryan Holden Apr 2017
Lethal vines wrapped in cotton,
Complex thoughts rotten,
Divulged emotions best kept hidden,
Vicious teeth and cautiousness of being bitten,
Eavesdropping inside your subconscious,
Thoughts mischievous,
Open up my love, open up your heart,
We will never have an ending and this will be the start.
The beginning of a new life.
Ryan Holden Jul 2017
The dusk fog reminds
Me of walks home after I
Had just been broken.

You caused the water
Drops like condensation, on
My dripping burnt skin.

Just to come back for
Another round into your
Heat-stroke and cold lies.

I had been frozen,
In place whilst burning, welding
Onto the embers.

Left in a heap and
Waiting for the next person,
To mould me again.
5 Haikus making 1 poem!
Ryan Holden Oct 2017
Imagine the unimaginable lights -
that shine down upon me,
getting caught in my dreams by an angel,
a saviour, a guardian -
''twas a gift so unforeseen
the equilibrium still shakes me.

Because on this particular night
I was answered by a gentle touch,
a gentle hand -
to finally become in sync with mine.

it was the day that wind stood still -
she captured it all, in her first breath
just so she could sweep me off my feet,
like tranquility had never seen
The big bad wolf.

Yet - the only thing I wanted
throughout the seasons,
was to capture the first winters snaps
from her nose -
I wanted to kiss her under the mistletoe
and steal her as my Christmas gift.

I want the summer sun to weld us together -
capturing unwritten memories like The heat that stirs between us is molten, bound together to set into stone.

I want our spring days to bloom -
Because the flowers weren't enough
beauty to see me through the season,
so I had to pick you from the fields -
stealing the wild flowers from your eyes.

but most of all,
I need you in those autumn months -
So I could get swept off my feet
only to be picked up by your hand,
Then placed in your heart,
For me to look forward -
to the rest of our days.
Ryan Holden Jan 2018
I try to talk to you but
my soul just turns to steel,
this happens whenever I
Try tell you how I feel -
about
you.
Ryan Holden Apr 2017
Jasper my best canine friend,
I have a message to send,
Ears so big, fluffy and free,
Always put a smile on me,
Oval sandy rock eyes stare,
Fur as dark as a black bear,
Coat so shiny lions mane,
Spirit animal large chain,
Mischevious wagging tail,
Someone outside bark and wail,
Muddy prints from paws alike,
Not an aspect I dislike.
Poem about my big fluffy dog I love
Ryan Holden Jan 2018
For every little step
a mountain to climb,
an ocean so deep
we are yet
to explore.
In this life I know
that all I can give
is an energy,
that never stops bouncing -
if I can do good
and set an example
for others -
even if I’m a pushover,
I’d rather do it
smiling at the ones
I create
every day
The world is huge, and each of us is a mere dot. So impact who you can around you everyday and make them smile!
Ryan Holden Sep 2017
Love is kindled like a fire,
you need to create your spark,
your flame
and then your fire,
then the rest just melts,
into place around it.
Ryan Holden Apr 2017
As I stare into your alluring eyes,
You gaze back at mine,
Nibbling on her lower lips,
Enticing me into her soul.

She grabs my hand,
A thousand white feathers shimmering,
I Grab her hourglass waist,
And whisper "Kiss me"
The nervous feeling you get when you start to like someone.
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
In moments of dark
Hope kisses my cheek to say
"It will be okay"
Ryan Holden Oct 2017
You broke the last thread
When you told me you didn't
Love me anymore.

All of the woven
Pieces of what got sewed in
Place, just fell apart.

With nothing but loose
Ends to play with, and scissors
To cut all the rest.
Ryan Holden Nov 2017
I was ready to
take the leap, but I choked on
fear of losing you
Ryan Holden Jan 2018
Catch day dreams with me
and get lost in our thoughts
of the future us.
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
Even after I
Cut out my eyes I can still
See truth behind lies.
Ryan Holden Dec 2017
Take a big deep breath,
See the sun, see the birds and
Quickly try forget.

Temporary pain
always loses against what you
have truly dreamt for

Stand up tall and proud,
Take each day with a large pinch
Of laughter and love.
Ryan Holden Jan 2018
In life we wither
slowly as we go
through seasons weathers
nature always grows.

We can contemplate
and we can always worry,
we can’t subjugate
so we suffer covertly.

If we took a seed
to sow, no fear,
even noxious weeds
know reasons it’s here.

As the years start to orbit
and time keeps on ticking,
worry about your wallet
it won’t show in your coffin.

Summers end pinches us
for the seeds we have sown,
disbursement of pods fuss
for the spring, to be grown.

With nothing to lose
with nothing to fear,
if it’s dwelling you choose
whilst you spend your time here.

Nature knows it snows
and nature knows it’s flaws,
still happy it knows
a new seasons open doors.

Only to bloom and admire bliss
whilst they are working hand in hand,
with Mother nature’s glistening kiss,
perhaps one day we will understand.
I just had a thought about how people go through life worrying about everything, and nature is happy knowing it can spread seeds for the next season. Just a perspective! Haha enjoy :)

A boy called bill grew up on a farm,
So bouncy, smelly and loud,
Mum shouted over "bill clean your plate, it won't do you any harm",
She gave him some new shoes to set him a test,
let's see if they can stay clean, please do try your very best,
Bill ran outside wearing his wellies so proud, happy and sleek,
Click
Clak
Click
Clak
Horses, cows all so fluffy and cute couldn't help but take a sneak peek,
Bill hopped, skipped and leaped so high,
he thought for a moment he could fly,
As he jumped over the fence to tend to the pigs, the wooden panel broke off,
Bill could see as he slowly fell down he was landing face first in pig trough,
When he collided there was dirt everywhere,
Poor little bill looked up surprised, he had it in his face and hair,
He opened the fence not daring to leap back to his mum, woke her from sleep,
Slip
Slop
Slip
Slop
He tapped on her shoulder smelly and brown,
His mother looked curiously and began to frown,
She said "bill I told you and what did I say?",
Bill said nothing, looked down stood in the doorway,
He slowly looked up and said "ok you were right"
And bill started cleaning his plate every night.
Just a random idea that popped into my head and thought I'd write about it. Enjoy! :D
Ryan Holden May 2017
I miss her light,
She brings in this darkness,
I'll wait here by the phone,
With these stained curtains closed,
My walls are already dripping,
In regret and Revere.

I miss her light,
Heating up this cold heart,
Longing for those bright eyes,
Truly a work of art,
I just need a moment to apologise.

I miss her light,
I'll tell myself not to ride,
Down this road of infinite,
Into a world of terror,
If heaven or hell decide,
Which destiny I'll reside.

I'll still be here, thinking of you,
In the darkest of rooms.
A poem about regret!
Ryan Holden Jul 2017
When my lips move
To match your ear drums
Just to sync my emotions
With yours.

Why is it that you
Stop playing the drums
And we sink deeper into
The abyss of lost love.
Haven't been on for a while so I thought I'd quickly write something haha!
Ryan Holden Aug 2017
I feel like lost wind
Floating in time, not able
To choose direction.
Ryan Holden May 2017
Give me your affection,
I'll give you love and protection.
Ryan Holden May 2017
Two love birds in a tree,
Please stand by me.
First attempt at the 10w
Ryan Holden Nov 2017
Walk on the wind and ride -
Take my hand, we can dance
Through the night, we will slide -
Into cracks of earths trance
Finding a cloud to hide -
Beautiful raw romance.
Ryan Holden Oct 2017
Drip your ointment in
My flask, let it bind us both
Together as one.
Ryan Holden May 2017
I see the violence,
I hear no laughter,
It's all faith to capture;
I can feel the rapture,
Disaster another chapter,
Darkness within these walls,
a fall,
No more buildings too tall.
Fire choking the young,
It's only just begun.
There's no sun,
We hear a bomb,
Run,
Innocent children,
Deprived of fun,

Shrapnel flying everywhere,
Smoky air,
Streets are bare,
It's all despair,
I feel the Animosity,
Subconsciously,
Knowing I'm dead probably,
We do this to our society,
Because we have religion and rivalry,
Violently, involved yet independently,
You walk so silently,
Scared of your own shadow frightfully,
Tirelessly,
With your messed up psychiatry,
That’s irony.
Restless Ramblings of a mind, that still doesn't understand why.
Quick succession rhyming used here. Some lyrics are taken from a rap I wrote, in similar context to what is happening in this sad, miserable world.
Ryan Holden Jul 2017
She is the music
And all of the joy,
I see her blossom
And unfold into the
Beautiful flower she is,
Yet her petals are clipped
With few wounds,
Where wounds in
the wild become
One rhythmic motion,
One perfect combination,
Her joy is a manifold nature
Making more
Than one
Happy.
Ryan Holden May 2017
Love is like marrow to bone,
It stays attached whilst living,
But as love dies and weakens,
Decay breaks the bond.
First attempt at Dodoitsu, enjoy :)
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
The thing about poetry,
Is I don't know if the ink
Will be my medicine,
Or if it's the poison
Inside my veins that
Will slowly destroy me.
Ryan Holden May 2017
As she breaks and burns,
Through this narrowing night,
Her ointment of prowess
Takes over the duty,
A fraction of lumens,
Yet just as bright
To those glaring eyes.

As she howls over this hill,
She echoes through trees,
Snapping twigs as she goes,
Turning us to stone,
As we stare
At medusa of the night.
A poem about the moon!
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
Lay your dreams where nobody else will
close your eyes,
I've travelled so far just to have one mere second with you,
I have walked fields of glass and wasps to feel your touch,
I will do it all again if it means I can pour my heart into yours,
I want us to emerge into one beautiful concoction of lust,
One mere soul, one mere dream
Isn't enough for me as my nights are full of terror.

I want to go back to the moment we met,
When you looked at me like I was everything,
Nothing else mattered as we melted into each other's eyes,
Butterflies would flutter in my hollow chest bursting from inside,
They would fly around our heads like two souls were merging,
And living happily ever after in one, beautiful, fairytale.
Ryan Holden Dec 2018
I want to call you
Milkyway,
That sweet outside,
That tasteful yet
gooey centre,
covered in a hard shell,
Yet you have
The beauty of the night stars,
Sky and all the wonders
It carries with it.
Ryan Holden Jun 2017
We make history as we go
But we also create destruction,
We build sculptures clouds high,
Then find it so easy to knock down.

We rummage and do everything
Possible to find what we can't have,
Shouldn't have, don't need, just greed.

We fight because it's become normality
to brag about what you acquire,
Rather than to share what you have
So you've become a viper.

We walk past one another
As our palms cross paths,
And only dust falls slowly
Whilst our hands collide.

We don't want you to become
Another person to fall into the trap,
That modern society seems to be
Building and creating so cleverly.

Yet stupidly becoming blind
To it's own downpour,
So I wait for the day
As I pray,
We can all be together again.
