My Dear Poet Mar 2021
Universal imagery
to illiterate lovers
pressed hearts
❤️💕💝
and kisses
🥰😘😍
And an array
💐🌹🌷
of flowers
In pings and dings
love on the fly
waiting for
that silent read
...
hope for
that quick reply
My Dear Poet Apr 2021
I love the things we don’t do together
They are the spaces between us
of how much I miss you
How much I need you
They are the silent conversations
I have alone in my head
and how much of a poet I can be without you
I love those things we don’t do together
because whenever you’re there
and I am here
I always remember
how much I need you
and want you near.
My Dear Poet Jan 22
I left you this note, last night
beneath your pillow
but you never came home to your bed
My Dear Poet May 2021
I’m the worlds greatest Poet
till I find my pen
My Dear Poet Sep 2021
I can write poetry just like them

‘Mountain regions sweep across stretched plains of silvery skies’

Or poetry like him

‘Mountain sweeps stretching across your
pretty eyes’

But I’d rather write poetry just like me

* The mountain lies before us *.
My Dear Poet Jul 2022
My tears fall courageously
Leaving the safety
and shelter of my eye
Braving down the cliff of my cheek
Fearlessly jumping off
the edge of my chin
My Dear Poet Mar 14
I am
alright

…tonight

like I was
okay

…today

as for
tomorrow

…who knows
the sorrow

but hey
My Dear Poet Apr 2021
I’m sorry
for the little hidden things
I’m sorry
for the secrecy and shame
I’m sorry
for waking up too late
I’m sorry
for not prophesying the pain

I’m sorry
for this apology
I’m not sure how this can heal me
by hurting you with ‘sorry’ again
My Dear Poet Aug 2021
I’m not so good at telling the truth
neither am I good at a lie
So if you asked me, “do I love you?”
don’t look into my eye
You’ll see my Iris drowning
in a black sea of deceit
I’m sorry, It’s just self defence
confessing my defeat
When it comes to love, we’re all
thieves and liars
My Dear Poet Oct 2021
Everything is hard work
except these tears
My Dear Poet Apr 2021
I’ll give you the sun
Once I pay off the moon
My Dear Poet Apr 2021
These thoughts in my head
talk about me like I’m dead
“I’m here, you know!”, I say
but they keep talking away
So I scream all the louder
to get through their laughter
yet they snicker and cheer,
“Get out of here!”,
But I reply, “No!”
“It’s my mind you know!”
and I stay there instead
always in my head
My Dear Poet May 2021
Scratch like no one is watching
Pick like no one is there
**** like no one is smelling
and burp like you just don’t care
just some motivation
My Dear Poet Jun 7
I only weep
when my tears say so

I only bleed
when my heart says “flow”

I only think
when my mind says “know”

I only die
when my life says “go”.
The irony of free will
My Dear Poet Mar 31
don’t cry a storm
to be heard

Just whisper a rainbow
to be seen
#cry #tears #storm #rainbow
My Dear Poet Jul 2021
I slept on the bed
of a poet, Gibran
and there fell a poem
into my head
like a song…

“One day you will ask me
which is more important?
My life or yours?
I will say mine
and you will walk away
not knowing
that you are my life.”

I slept on the bed
of a poet, Gibran
and my dreams were filled
in my heart was a song
a longing so sweet
a desire too strong
till the museum guard came
and moved me along

My Dear Poet Jan 2022
Please allow me
to read your mind
although, I’m no magician,
just a poet

poetry can feel
a little magical
or whatever it is
you may call it

It may seem
you’re being
sawed in half
but be assured
I’m not asking
for your wallet

its just a little poetry
that will have you
checking your heart
or your back pocket
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
One day she just stopped talking,
so I stopped too
I don't know if that's what she wanted,
It’s just her words became few
I thought I’d give her some flowers
Maybe somehow I’d get through
The flowers weren’t as pretty as her
But she stopped seeing too
Now I just visit and I hold her
At least she still feels the same
She’s still as beautiful as she always been
Though she barely knows my name
to my mum and dad
My Dear Poet Jun 2022
Because you’re upside down
in my mind
You may as well change the light
Or keep us blind
As we sit here in my head
all night
My Dear Poet Jun 3
she didn’t say she didn’t love you
she just needed time
to learn to love herself
My Dear Poet Sep 2021
It’s the end of the world, as we know it
So hurry, hold me close and we can slow it

Beneath a burning sky, lets hold the other
Forget the fights and heartaches, my lover

Meet me down that alley, where we first met
where the fire hasn’t spread there yet

Let us speak the things that remain unsaid
and sit our hearts down, inside our head

Can I call you ‘my wife’, before the end?
There may not be a morrow, but we can pretend

Let’s find a church before they’re burned to the ground
Make our vows before the sky falls down

Take my hand and run through the streets
Sing our love before the chaos proceeds

Play the tune that we’ll always remember
dance beneath a red moon, now or never

The world may think we're a little mad
yet, it’s the best of days we’ve ever had

You and I, my love, are forever
it’s not over till we’re over
My Dear Poet Apr 2022
Itsy bitsy spider
crawling in deceit
along came the truth
and stomped it with its feet

Down came the shoe
and squashed it’s organs out
splat like a web of lies
it’s bits all about

My Dear Poet Jun 22
You’re that feeling that burns
every time you’re filled, not spent
we go back to learn
It wasn’t what I meant

The strong promises and lines
that couldn’t be broken, you bent
among all the go around rhymes
It wasn’t what I meant

The absent truths and stains
of every little word stolen, you lent
only to borrow pain and play
It wasn’t what I meant

and when you finally understood
phrases couldn’t be ripped, but rent
now there’s that silent separation
It wasn’t what I meant.
My Dear Poet Jan 2022
I waited for the breeze
to ******* the fragrance of your hair
your curls were caught in the wind
your strands strangled me of air
I waited for the breeze
to ******* the scent of your skin
but the sweetest of oils from your pores
were diamanté drops dried by the wind
I waited for the breeze to bring me
the fresh breath of your mouth
The wind welcomed the smoke
I chocked, crying like a cloud

If you asked me, to get to you
which of the two would I cease?
I would have enslaved the wind
my love, and set free the breeze
My Dear Poet Apr 2023
I want to die before you do
I know it’s selfish, but it’s true
for all the pain I fear to know
would have me desire
to die before you go

I dread the memories we make
coming back to torment me
and for my sake
I’d rather die and know
that I’ve left you behind
than I to live and let you go

I don’t think I can bare
the weight of another breath
if you first leave,
every thought of you, I do
I’ll relive another death

Nor do I think I can carry
another hour of an empty day
where you once filled every second
and now you’ve gone away

I’d rather die than miss you
I’m sorry, but It’s true
I know I’ll leave you with pain
and you may or may not live again
but, I could never be without you
so I’d rather die before you do
in shame
My Dear Poet Apr 2021
I want to hide in
someone else’s house
sleep in the retreat room
and be myself
wear a slipper
drink a cup of tea
lie back in their chair
and watch TV

I want to hide
in someone else’s house
spray some cologne
and be myself
look at photographs
forget about me
leave the noise outside
browse the library

I want to hide
in someone else’s house
deeper in the forest
and be myself
lost in their walls
as far as can be
maybe up in the attic
alone but free

I want to hide
In someone else’s house
look through the rooms
and find myself
if only I could
try find a key
for my own house
won’t house me

I want to hide
in someone else’s house
not be a Jesus,
just be myself
just another piece missing
like missing socks
still finding peace
being Goldilocks
My Dear Poet May 2022
I will follow you
whereto you roam
I will follow you
all the way home
down the road
up the hill
along the river
by the mill
past the tin shed
that old shoe store
till I follow you
and go no more
to an open field
where a path unpaved
with stones unsealed
leads to your grave
My Dear Poet Jan 12
i will try to write a poem without using the moon
ignoring the language of angels and gods
of heavenly hosts and celestial beings
they seem to always take the place of the way I am really feeling
i will try to write with words you have always wanted me to use
but this time I will choose
between the white tunes and hues
and maybe you will understand me
maybe you will see
when I pull back the drapes from the poetry
with out all the shy stars and bashful butterflies
you will see,
Me.
My Dear Poet May 2021
I wonder why
in all the world
clouds can never hold the rain

When every thought in my head
clouds my thinking
and my brain

I wonder why
when I cry
my tears fall like rain

When clouds grow grey in the storm
yet my heart grows black
with pain
My Dear Poet May 24
I write
not because I want to be heard
I write because I exist
I don’t know what else to say
My Dear Poet Apr 20
I have a heart with a hole
like a strainer in my soul
so I hold to larger hope

I have desires so deep
and the climb is so steep
I hold to a longer rope

I have darkness deep down
fog of fear hides the ground
I hold stronger along the *****

To have and to hold
one thing I am told
you have just enough hold
to cope
.
My Dear Poet Feb 2022
If you try
to close your eye
and keep your thoughts
in to think
Take care
not to sleep
in too deep
at a flicker of a slightest

blink

I’ve fallen asleep
many times
lying down

ink and paper in hand

To find my thoughts
splattered around
so I’ve learned to write
while I stand

try
to not lie
and write
the right
way up

You may find
thoughts like mine
spill

and never stop

by the time
you have this read
you’ll think it’s in my head

so no…it’s

dripping down

You will find
It’s not in
my mind
but
in my toes

flowing on the ground.
sorry…poetry can make you go a little crazy :)
My Dear Poet Jul 2021
Linking
a link in love

Joining
a join of joy

Piecing
a piece of peace
My Dear Poet Dec 2021
my heart
was caged for keeping

my mind
kept safe inside a case

my soul
hid from stealing

my body
kept guard by my face
My Dear Poet Mar 2022
/Seven start the running
at the shot of a gun
one faulted behind
six continue to run
six kept the running
till another starts to stall
tripping over shoelace
two clambered to a fall
four kept the running
four running strong
come the first hurdle
three running on
three kept the running
till a cramp came along
two kept the running
two going strong
just one look behind
cost one the finish line
one kept the running
past the cheer and cries
one kept the running
only one won the prize
My Dear Poet Dec 2021
It takes only one true kiss
to erase the lies tattooed on your lips
My Dear Poet Nov 2021
I’m living the life
now that my wife
has moved on to another man
My kids are grown
now left all alone
I’m doing as I want and I can

I please no one
and then when I’m done
I only please myself
I eat when I want
whether I drink or I don’t
I serve nobody else

My neighbours a bore
they hear that I snore
but I don’t care a bit
My gardens my pride
trees hang on their side
and I spy on them from where I sit

The police on my back
parking fines in a stack
on the mantle above the fire
I ***** on scotch
every hour of my watch
I dare ya to call me a liar

My mum is my care
she’s always been there
in a nursing home now with Dementia
She brags, her boys the best
I tattood her on my chest
it’s always been a love of hers I betcha

I drive the old truck
and just my luck
the astray on the dash still works
I pick up my Betty
she’s dolled up and pretty
and take her for a night of beef jerks

A man’s got no mates
when he does what he hates
look at me living and licking it up
like my dog named ‘Bloke’
and it ain’t no joke
named him ‘Bloke Jr.’ when just a pup

I’m as good as it gets
placing my bets
on a horse or a grey or a ****
I’m not much of a convo
but what do you know
when I win I talk off your sock

Give me a minute
I’m not here to win it
I’m just good at what I do
They say life favours some
I happened to be one
and It’s unfortunate that you are you

Nah…I’m just kidding
I’m actually just bidding
all the chances I have on me
So far so good
knock on wood
I’m loving life and happy as Larry
My Dear Poet Aug 2021
Oh no
It’s 1:02
we’re still in bed
and the mornings bled
into the afternoon

It’s a
lazy day
but I’m glad to stay
here in bed
with you
Just got up
My Dear Poet Nov 2021
I’ve been asleep
inside my head
my pillow is soft
but my blanket like lead
falling off
it slips
I doze
My feet come cold
my toes
exposed
I tug and turn
inside my dream
I pull and stretch
and tear the seam
And in my sleep
I spill the wind
dreams of
frosts that ****
and a sun that grins
Now with the chill
against my chest
I wake with eyes
that find no rest
between winter sheets
I’m as cold as dead
It’s just a leak
in my waterbed
My Dear Poet Dec 2021
You went straight for the heart
without learning how to hold my hand
My Dear Poet Jul 2022
I’m sorry
if I’m a little lost
when the mind is free
the body follows at a cost
till you’re broke and can’t pay
the soul is stolen away
leaving the shell of a ghost

Forgive me
if I’m a little used
when you’re careless
you casually bruise
till you’ve bled no more
have no life to pour
the spirits withered
and abused

My apology
for being a mess
when what’s of value
becomes little to confess
when what you hold
is worth all the gold
and you give it up
for lentils or less
My Dear Poet Feb 26
a tear dropped
from the face of despair
and wove it’s way down
it’s entangled hair
weaving through waves
of dry dead strands
it untangled the knots
the braids and the bands
sliding ever so slowly
soothing out like oil
every curve and curl
of every anxious coil
straightening the stress
as it falls to the ground
shaking your head off the mess
let your hair hang down
My Dear Poet Feb 2022
Let’s plant this kiss
and bring forth fruit
our lips entwining
with tongue-like root
Let’s water this kiss
with tears we cry
over trees of life
lest they wither dry
Let’s bury this kiss
beneath our eyes
our last taste of sun
before light dies
My Dear Poet May 2021
You staying was
the longest goodbye
My Dear Poet Mar 2022
Life won’t wait for you
to wake up from your pain
Don’t wait till your happy
to learn to live again
Run further than your fears
Through that open door fast
Jump the hurdles in your mind
reminding you of the past
Don’t look back behind you
Keep your head held up high
Know when you can’t keep up
Hope, won’t leave you there to die
My Dear Poet Apr 2022
I’m tired of collecting the tears
that the sun never dries
I’m resolved to chasing the wind
let the breeze blow my eyes
I’ve decided to fan my fears
and live while I’m alive
breathe as much fire
and burn till I die
My Dear Poet Jun 2021
A Lily never lies
unlike a neighbouring plant
where shrub and grub
are given a rub
like lavender to enchant
A Lily never lies
like your eyes
even if you tried
you can’t recant
you send a scent
and as soon as it’s sent
like lavender you replant
My Dear Poet Apr 2021
You          I am
are a lot    much like
like Hate     Love, I hate
you love to   that you
despise     do
me
It takes two parts of a heart to be broken
(to be read in two parts)
My Dear Poet Aug 2021
Chained by the rage
Enraged by the cage
Encaged by the gage
Engaged by the chain
