Like marionettes,
dancing, swirling, jibing
moved by strings of their desires.
Their bodies set ablaze,
by the fiction of their hides.

Despairing to escape by any means,
keeping their mem'ries in the haze.
Aimlessly thrusting til' Tilda tires;
swinging, struggling, scathing,
like marionettes.

And when the zenith is reached,
comes a fleeting sense of victory.
Their point of contact comes to an end.
***** hollow, and soul still empty.
Like marionettes.

Petrichor.
VG E Bacungan Oct 2014
The world where I stood was a desert
thirsty for a pint of rain;
longing for a kiss that never came.
Not until you did.

Everything started with a droplet of your essence,
Out of nowhere. Unexpected.
YOU... yes you MANIFESTED.
Without notice, you took me by surprise.
A beautiful surprise I say.
For the first time in a while I felt,
my worries washed away by your presence.
Hot sand turned mud where then I lay.

In those moments I lost,
all anxieties brought by drought.
When through the years I thought
I'd never touch the rain I ought
to ardently pray for every night.
Imbued I was with your* "love".

clothes soaked. body wet. soul drunk.

your name the promise I mutter through the drizzle.
This body jived to the beat of a million sizzle.

Moments passed faster than it seemed.
I, taken away by lust of a parched soul.

I slurped. I gulped. I glugged.

as much as I could, never thinking of
what I would drink in the latter.
When the land runs dry;
when then again,
I'm deprived of water.

So then, what caught me by surprise,
left without a word... woah,
SURPRISE!
everything turned back the way it was;
an arid heart in a blink of an eye.

But what makes me wonder is this delusive sense,
of your cooling touch amidst this false pretense;

I smell–
Your scent stick to my chest like perfume odour.
My nostrils clogged with the aroma of your neck.
A waft that distorts the senses of this
consumed man.

Thoughts of you linger long after you are gone...
*Like the fragrance of rain that stays after the downpour.
A poem
for her.
or maybe
for myself.

Sweet Demise.
VG E Bacungan Sep 2014
If the lines in my forehead,
be the multiplier of your laughter;
bid grimaced be my days.

If the tears that I shed,
be the sugar in your tea;
let it rain.

If my yelps of pain,
be the lyrics to your song;
take away my voice.

If the cuts on my flesh,
be the curve on your smiles;*
dice me.

If the blood I bleed,
be your elixir of happiness;

deplete me completely.

If the punctures on my heart,
bequeath rays on your sun;

stab me some more.

If the failures I commit,
be the perfection of your day;

wrong me.

If my downfall,
be your supreme ecstasy;

I've long prepared my gravestone.

//So in the end I may say:
I have accomplished my role.
To be the liberation of your morbid soul...//

It's been a long time since I last posted a poem... Hey there guys! how have my dear fellow aspiring poets been doing? This poem is one of my works published there...hopefully it will be. hahaha. :D

The karvings of this awe-full fantasy amplifies,
the throbbing of my freezing heart.
The shapelessness of the kloud whispers,
wonderful mysteries in inaudible murmurs.

The blue-orange painted kanvas above.
The silhouette of the mountains that hide,
behind the undaunted smokes that forms.
The opening that the heavens made,
to show the earth its dazzling threshold.
Gradually.
Sensationally.
Approaching the land with unfathomable ardor.

Devout of the seamless tenuous night,
Gangas klangs echoes through the cold.
Lumps of land deprive the moment of silence,
as the people sing to the gods with reverence.

Heareth me, O goddess of the krops!
O god o'er all the mountains come see;
How gracefully she stood before me.
While the pyre gives emphasis to her figure.

Kurves of the kreseant resembles her smile;
edges of her lips sink.
Beautiful exkavation mark on her left cheek,

all in perfekt symmetry; perfektion in all she is.

"Saya Suka Awak" I told her.
that very moment:
Sparkling of the stars devoured our eyes.
Sweetest morose partings seeped in voiceless lullabies;
in unison with symphonic notes lulling unsaid goodbyes.
Through the last movement of vagueness the moment subsides.

For the love that profess fades,
with the chilly thin air it travels;
back to the heart of the other.
Oceans apart they were,
yet atop the mountains. . .
love blossomed.
This poem was made during my stay at Bauko, Mt. Province, Philippines for the first ever SEED Program Philippines hosted by San Beda College. I was lucky enough to be one of the nationa delegates for the event. There I was able to meet people from other ASEAN countries and of course the local folks of the place. In that event I saw too many yet wrote so less; perhaps because I was so busy. But, I was able to write this.. Inspired by the panoramic mountain view, chilly weather and someone from the delegates, this poem was born. #SEEDProgram2014 #SayaSukaAwak. <3 ^_^

I walk down our streets and soak my senses
in happy thoughts therefore of...

How everyday I was content.
How my days were fun games.

How you came to my life.
How I felt safe.

How you left with no remorse.
How I became... opaque.

Elegy to Love.
VG E Bacungan Jul 2014
~
Deprive me of life!
O yer' rays to my sun.
Screech to thee mine echoes,
blare out undying sorrow.

The love ye dispersed,
vanishes  t r a c e l e s s  in the wind.
Yet scorches this man's psyche.

Pillars that once bind,
this love falleth!
One by one,
like empty tin cans.

So too the stars that lit,
the dry dread night.
Flimsy; deathbound.

Wavelength of screams,
the weary wilted weeps.
Resonant to the beating of this heart;

adagio.

VG E Bacungan Jul 2014
Should I stop writing?
Should I start living?

Would this pain past?
or for eternity it will last?

Should I wait till dusk?
or should I go now?

Will I ever see the dawn?
Will I ever feel light's caress again?

Am I struggling with the inevitable?
Should I let go and lose hope?

Yet here I sit,
in the passenger's seat.
Waiting patiently,
hoping she still will love me;
till the day after forever.

The shattered pieces I amass,
to patch myself up.
Give the world a grin,
amidst the pain within.

State of Despair.
VG E Bacungan Jul 2014
What is love?
~
Is it the butterfly in his stomach?
or the upbeat of his pulse?

Is it the attraction of another kind?
or lust of the naked eye?

Is it the stuttering in his words?
or maybe the cracking of his voice?

Is it the poems he wrote?
or perhaps the song he composed?

Is it the countenance of her face?
the curves of her hips?
the scars on her cheeks?

Is it something seductive?
like her buttocks or her *****?

Is it the grace in her movement?
or maybe the way she think?

Is it the way she made him laugh?
or the way she touches him perhaps?
~

None of the above define,
the love he has for her.

The love he has is commitment.
The love he gave was sacrifice.

Love is more than a feeling.
Feeling when gone leads to withdrawing.

That he kept on saying to himself,
now that she is falling,
out of love for him;
because the feeling is fading.

The fading is leading to his undoing.

Love Insanity.
VG E Bacungan Jul 2014
Our thread of fate intertwines;
with unparalleled affection weave,
tress a bond made us one.

You were my contentment.
You and I in full commitment.
To this thing we called *
love
.
To this love we relied upon.

I walked such path with blindfolds on.
Trusted love to my disown.
Love of indecisive decisions.
Love with deviant partitions.
Love that left a frown,
in this lad of hapless discord.

Now I'm waiting for the final say:
Would it be a *bitter goodbye
?
or a sweet "I will stay."?
Will this *love completely decay
?
All these things in my mind play.

This very moment I've lost my will,
to say the words my heart feel.
I'm at the verge of "love insanity".
*Will this be the death of my poetry?
Currently at the verge of a breakup... such a wonderful post birthday gift. hahaha.  I feel like writing a thousand poems tonight..

Silhouette of the past run round and round.
His present state of mind.
The last kiss.
The last time she said goodbye.
The final touching of hands,
before the morning dawn arrived.

He sung the song she never heard.
when in silence, He embraced Rian in the corner.
In abysmal thoughts he ponder.
While droplets of the gloomy rain cover,
his essence; the purest tears he shed for her.

Amassed chaos in his psyche.
Seeped to his fingers, to the pen.
The paper dripping of wailing despair.
His cursed existence he indicted.
How his life is seems so unfair.

Again,
He closed his eyes.
Reminisce what he lost inside.
Things he will never get back.
Things that will never come back.
Realized that one thing he lack.

Ballad of a Fool
VG E Bacungan Jun 2014
Relieve the pain.
Scribble words.
An act mundane,
to his universe.

He'd had enough,
and so he said
                 ~
      Oh my love!
         I have paid.
     All my love,
        down to the pave.
     For you bore not,
        the love I gave.
    Untie my knot,
        undone this slave.
                 ~

"Set me free!"
   His heart exclaims. . .

"I loved not thee."
   She proclaims.

Then cometh to his wits,
   it was he who enslaved,
himself to pain down the pits;
   when for love he had laid,
His Soul. His Truth. His Bliss.

Then so he wrote one final creed,
the last of his odes; his parting plead.

                                                           Drag me deep down!
                                                           To the depths of fiery Tartarus!
                                                            for love is an act so murderous,
                                                            that everyday it smites mine heart.

                         I've given up this life I own,
                        sold to ink for one purpose.
                        Write poems, songs, odes; all in chorus.
                        Cram all ardor into immortal art.

 That if one day I be finally known,
 for the fool I was; in love I lose.
 May my path not be used,
 that time I know I've done my part.

Goodbye! Goodbye!
and so I bid,
Silent Farewells; as tears I hid,
behind myself; accede to die.

As you lie unconscious,
In all your might you sleep.
I sit beside you two, ruminating deep:
"My life without you; how monotonous."

Then gather the bits that remained intact,
to press my lips against your cheeks.
Without you knowing all of these,
I will forever bury this poignant fact.

Now I leave to do the things,
I need to do as I turn my back...
on you my

one thing I promise.

If I Pursued Thee...
VG E Bacungan Jun 2014
If I pursued thee...
Could have I become us?
The cheerful singing in the wind
past these barren ears with lies.

If back then, *I pursued thee...

Could have all the love songs be
about the love we shared?
I to you and you be mine.

If I pursued thee...
Could have this monotonous life,
be a duet of blissful melody
that is sung by a J and a V?

If I pursued thee...
Could all the perfect moments be,
the present I live in;
not just some  d  i  s t a  n  t  memory?

If I pursued thee...
Have I not let you flee,
would you be here with me?
This poem remaining a fragment of possibility?

The tip of my pen against the surface of paper.
Release the dew where lies my love, hate, anger.
All in all holds one great power,
to feed the soul; relieve its hunger.

To all who sees,
To all who reads,
To all who hears,
To all who feels,

Do not be in fear.
Yield to this calling...

Pick up your penswords with might!
Brace up your papershields and fight!
Write I tell you now; Write!
Come join me - let's shed some light.
I call to you. I plea. Write your mind out. For there is freedom in writing. :)
