Eyeing the situation
But the heart contemplates otherwise

An idea comes to haunt
Where did it come from
Unaware of its existence
Lingering somewhere
When it entered the mind
Parallel thoughts
Maybe, was in your mind
Attracting the idea
Ideas seeking ideas
Intercepted by the intellect
Two entities combine
To form one idea
It’s in the mind
Which hovers within
One idea
That can make a difference

Dance of happiness
Smile of contentment
Tranquility of wisdom
Radiance of love
Beacon of leadership
Gratitude of acceptance
Euphoria of self realization
Harmony of silence
Embrace of cosmic truth
Strength of renouncing
Living for the moment
Belief in eternity
Journey of Life
Profound existence

The ripples of your actions has far reaching effects
Diameter of the circumference determines its impact
Result of the actions comes ricocheting, caught unaware
Actions determine what your reaction to life will be

Poetry can’t be a limitation
Words radiating the poet’s imagination
Transcending beyond mere understanding
Poetry mesmerizes the soul and heart
Words beyond the regular
Reading between the lines, to decipher
For Poetry shall remain forever
Lyrical hymns, always hummed by poem lovers
Surviving the centuries, and beyond
Poetry can pay tribute, to unspoken feelings
From poet to poet and from poems to poems
A rich legacy will weave intricate Art

Kept in front of me is a rough handmade paper
Its furrows are similar to my unsettled life
The thick graphite pencil I hold up to sketch
My anecdotes that has made an impact on me
As soon I start sketching, the graphite smudges
Leaving dark and ugly patches on the paper
And an indelible mark between my fingers
Depicting the dark shadow that has followed me
Everything I hope for, is daubed by overcast setting
When I take up the erasers to wipe off the mishaps
The friction creates a colossal mess on the dreams
I realize that I have distorted the sketch I started
But the deep lines of graphite stare at me sullenly
Such indelible sketches hover in my mind
Not even the best of erasers can wipe them off
I tried in vain, only to be left with abrasions
I have given up on drawing up any dreams
No longer, the handmade paper allures me to sketch
For I have used up all the graphite, drawing, failures
So many failures already etched in my memory
Left with nothing but the memories of defeat
Like the dark smudges of graphite, hovering my mind

There was an esoteric land
Unknown from the world
Hidden behind reason
And higher consciousness
A mythical place
Neither on land
Nor, in the sky
Somewhat in-between
The scene and unseen
Only penetrating vision
Could conjure the position
The axis of power
Everything white
The minds and bodies
Pristine and clear
Outside the realm of everyday
So much more was there
Full consciousness
And soul’s originality
Empowered the inhabitants
In the esoteric land

Finger on the pulse
Seismic zone
Far from the epicenter
Gives away the feelings
Strong feelings erupt
Tremors felt far and wide
Deep chasms devour
One with finger on the pulse
Passionate surrender

Sweet words spoken
Sounds sweet in few
Too many spoils the day

Snail glides across
Peeking out of its lonely abode
Solitary, and travels alone
Shying away at the faintest touch
Retreating in the abode
How far it may have wandered
Finds the quiet haven miles away

Unleash the soul
from the shackles
of debilitating forces
which leaves us
gasping for breath
the wound
barbed wires
in a tight hold
inflicts many wounds
draining us
everyday, of life
there is a purpose
to life
whose meaning
eludes us
until we free ourselves
from the reality
we have created

We keep on searching
Inventing and re-inventing
Dexterous minds
Looking for solutions
Problems seeded deeper
Takes root firmly
As we hone our skills
To mitigate our fate
We create a bid divide
Chasm wide and unfathomable
Disarrayed paths
Somnambulists take the lead
Unknown hurdles
Every time they falter

The nomadic mind knows no bounds
Oft it prepares to visit many places
Roaming the distant territories
The verdant valleys and the deserts
Drinking from the fresh flowing streams
Also, walking with the camels
Looking for the oasis, left with mirage
Retreating after a hectic day
Under the blue canopy and bright stars
Another journey towards the mountains
An itinerary of the nomadic mind
Yearns for more wandering adventures
Stopping at the intersections of ideas
Where meeting of the vagabond minds
Away from the permanent settlers
Living amongst nature, the nomadic mind

Write right
Never trite
Pen’s might
No fright
Heart’s bright
Soul’s flight
Blissful sight
No spite
Poet’s write
A pride

The garden is full of aromatic bloom
Perfumed notes intoxicating the olfactory
Lovers ready for a frenzied tango
Stage set on the lap of nature
To witness the most ravishing of performance
The stars have descended in the lovers eyes
Twinkling like the fireflies
Hearts beat in synchronous steps
Feeling deep inside, each others throbbing pulse
A game of surrender, where the lovers are on a high*

The wind’s rendezvous with the trees
Playfully kissing the leaves from slumber
Even the sun comes to join the play
Weaving its rays through the dewdrops
Drops of gold hanging from the leafy cradle
Wind as a messenger, passing on the messages
Even the animal kingdom has started to play
Caressing up the trees, the young ones at play
Camaraderie among the disciples on nature
Rich exchange of inter-nature musings
Skies have descended to pay heed
And pass on the messages to the intergalactic spaces
Integral part of the universe, carpeting this celestial body
The wind’s rendezvous with the trees
As the sun goes higher, its rays cuts across the thick foliage
Giving a ray of hope to the weeds and climbers
Babies of the animal kingdom, become playful
Oblivious of the surrounding and its grandeur
Nature’s stories are never-ending
It never fails to astonish the humankind
For we have lost the art of simple and careless talk
Losing touch with each other
Nature keeps the communication open
And there is a rendezvous every day, to discuss the nitty-gritties
Wind is the messenger among Nature and its being

Soulful existence neath the stars
Millions of hope sparkling above
Its blaze is just a soothing light
For me to contemplate on the past
I try to connect the glittering stars
Sketching the thoughts in my mind
How far they maybe for me to touch
I connect with them from my heart
Eroding the distance between us
Hoping to find a place amongst them
Waiting to sparkle in the night sky
And connect with another stargazer

Drop all inhibitions
Let your imaginations fly
Unchain from doubt
That makes you stationary
Soul is all pervasive
And let it be your guide
Venturing new avenues
Take the boulevard to freedom
When you will meet yourself
To reveal and expose the truth
When, the null will surround you
Cocooning you into the infinite
Forever, bliss will kiss your soul

Incense sticks burning
Aroma spreads across the room
Thoughts swirling away
Silence prevails within

Standing in front of the mirror
When the gaze goes beyond the eyes
Through the window you enter
The world you had left behind
So many anecdotes start playing
A retrospective film
So many memories come rushing
Reliving those days in solitude
From the mirror they gaze at you
Asking you questions
After all these years
You still do not have answers to many
It’s futile to go in search now
As you would like to step inside
And search among the memories
Only if you could do it any different

The frozen heart of the maiden
As the burning flame is smothered
And trampled upon, by her lover
Every tear drop that falls on her *****
Quietly drains out the love, she once had
As her heaven within, turns to quietude
There is no music playing from the flute
Only solitude has cast a spell of gloom
Clouding her heart from the sunshine
Leaving her with nothing, but pall of gloom
She can’t feel any love in her frozen heart, again*

The furnished souls
Adorned with mahogany
Luxurious pieces in every corner
Eau de parfum, the finest from France
Does not allure the senses
The settees, chaise lounges and recliners
Standing there, forlorn, awaiting guests
The ornate crystal chandeliers adorn the ceilings
Trying to illuminate the gloominess
The flooring of Makrana marble on the floors
As if there is a puzzle to be solved
It looks quizzically at the incoherent footsteps
Of the infrequent visitors, not even interested
Mansion filled with embellishments
Yet there are no worthy inhabitants
The Swarovski crystal curtains, veils the outside world
That waits, without any expectations or superfluities
To furnish the soul with love

Fine lines appear
Splitting the thick veneer
Many layers of thoughts
Seems to give away
Because of inclement weather
Layer by layer
Scraped away to the core
Hope of revealing the truth

Speak few, listen more
To understand a lot
As only a few will explain

About past there are regrets
With the present we are entangled
Past is yet to arrive, yet, doubtful
Seeds of unharmonious thoughts
Deeply entrenched in our mind
Now, they have grown and flourish
Becoming weak in the constant shade
Obfuscating the light of awareness
Life, we interpret in darkness
Until we cut the branches of uncertainties
Uproot the negative thoughts
Embrace the light of truth and grace
To live and grow stronger with every step
Nurture the harmonious thoughts

The architect of fate we are
Onus is on us to strengthen the foundation
To build a structure, concrete, yet accommodating
And mend the cracks as soon as they appear
Sway with a rhythm of the residents
Masons fortifying the walls around
The dialogues reverberating all around
It’s not a house, where love does not reveal
Build monument of love, protected from nature’s fury
