Emotions
Christopher Lowe Jan 2015
What in this world
Did I once love more
Other than that which
I once abhorred
And those fleeting feelings
Waxed and waned
Leaving me with wilted flowers
And thoughts to contemplate

Shut Up, The Real Worlds On
Christopher Lowe Jan 2015
Living in a world
Suffering from Empathy Dystrophy
More concerned with their reality shows
And clean windows
While others live in trash
With people throwing away things
Others would **** to have

Who Were They, Really?
Christopher Lowe Jan 2015
Down the Alabaster pathway
To the Ivory alley
Behind a Jade door
Lies a metaphorical passage
From unfinished books
Of the short lived
Explaining
*Only the good die young
Because you never got to know them

Cliche
Christopher Lowe Jan 2015
You ever hear
How people never change
Well its really quite different
We live our lives toward
A greater entropy
Ever changing
And maybe that’s why
We have these cliché
Rules we live by
So we
Shouldn’t Judge a book by its cover
Even if
We have an axe to grind with it

Yet We Still Hope
Christopher Lowe Jan 2015
What is hope
No more than
A condition of desire
And in desire
Always lies
A possibility
But false hope
Is not false desire
It is
To hope
Against hope
Rather
A lie of
desire
Christopher Lowe Jan 2015
My soul will sail away
And let the winds
From my troubling yesterdays
Fill its tattered sails
And carry it wayward
Bound for a better future

Although the waves will batter
And the thunder will crash
I know my vessel will reach harbor
Surviving to set sail yet again
When I find my soul restless
Longing for the next journey

The Enigma
Christopher Lowe Jan 2015
Lately dreams
Have been more real
Than reality
And that blank fortune cookie
Seemed oddly pointless
In my dream
But in the waking light
It seems
To have revealed
Its many messages to me
Had an odd dream last night where at one point I pulled a blank fortune from my wallet.

The Affliction Of Thought
Christopher Lowe Jan 2015
We often seek answers
To questions
Which should have never been asked
Ever since Eve ate the apple
The world has been
Afflicted
With whats seen as knowledge
And the curse of Pandoras box
Unleashed upon the world
A ravishing hunger
To capture questions
That as ignorant humans
We should never control
What we call intellect
Is an overzealous need for power
And we mistake knowledge
For answers to the mundane
Life would be so much simpler
If curiosity wained
And we never
Began asking unnecessary questions
In the first place
We never ask the right questions.

The Sound Of Silence
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
Silence is the sound of wisdom
And as the wind died down
And nature slept
I listened
Silence spoke

Do not mistake the
verbose for intelligent
and do not be quick
to break the quietness.
For quiet often
what is missed
is that which lies
between the noises.

And I was quick
To apologize to Silence
Telling it
*You're all to often
Mistaken as awkward

THE Girl
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
She was soft spoken
But her voice filled the room
And the way she talked
Her tongue
Dancing across her lips
A hypnotic sway
In the way she walked
Eyes like a lullaby
Gently pulling you in
A smile a mile wide
And a personality to match
Electricity filled her veins
With thunderous thoughts
To say she embodied perfection
Would be an unfair assement

The Sun Always Rises
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
There is undoubtly
A darkness in us all
But
There is also light In all life
And like the day turns into night
And night to day
We all await our transition
And as we see our rising sun
We let the light wash over us
And thank the sun for rising again

A Writers Achievement
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
A writers best work
Is not that which elicits emotions from others
But that which
Elicits emotions from themselves
Went back and read a few of my less popular poems and they still hold great truth and meaning even if it is only to me.

Digital Problems
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
When work needed done
We used to pound the pavement
But now we just punch keys
We're living in the digital age
Full of neon signs and L.E.Ds

Some say it's the future
Some say it's a disease
I say *it's okay in moderation
Just take a moment
Unplug
And Breath
We need to find our personal balances between living in reality and living behind a computer screen
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
Heart fluttering
At the sight of the setting sun
Blues reds oranges and greens
And I thought for a second
I must be dreaming
But when the sky melted
I grabbed your hand
and we just flew away
Knowing we'd dream again
Another day

Super Heros Vs. Bad Guys
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
Pretending used to be so innocent
You would play pretend doctor
And oh how brilliant
A flawless performance
And all those years not a patient lost
Ahh the pretend heroes we were

Now it's a little more sinister
We pretend we are busy or sick
And we think we are intelligent
Like no one will know
And year after year we fill with lies
Pretending to still be super heroes
When we really turned into bad guys
We all got plenty of practice. Anyone have any better title ideas let me know.

Two Lost Angels
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
There in the evergreen forest
Footprints laden in snow
Walked the soul of angel
Silhouetted in the moon lights glow

Lost and far from heaven
The angel asked of me
Please oh wondering stranger
Tell me you know these wood

To well I replied
*I've been stuck here
Wondering the evergreen forest

Another Sleepless Night
Christopher Lowe Dec 2014
I get my kicks
in the early A.M.
Brains on overdrive
Can't sleep
Overdid it again
So I drift off
Into another twilight
Numbed with
Self-created blissful ignorance
And when the sun
Hits the horizon
I hit it back
With a smile on my face
And I laugh
As I tell the world
*Good morning

Christopher Lowe Nov 2014
Take me back to the days of my voyage
Through teenage love
We drove around listening to punk rock
Battling what were then our enemies
Now our friends
Windows down pant legs rolled up
I remember how your eyes reflected
The evening sun
But like all good voyages

Writing While Driving (WWD)
Christopher Lowe Nov 2014
Had a lot on my mind
Tried jotting it down
Now I'm facing a DWI
Told the officer
Sir I'm not drunk
I was just writing while I drive

So he gave me a WWD
Just a Short humorous poem.  We have all had that great idea strike us at the most inconvenient times.  Remember don't write and drive.
Christopher Lowe Nov 2014
A pen mightier then a sword

Ink more powerful than an edge

Yet what war was waged without a blade?

Then again what war was won without quill?

The pen brings the peace

The sword brings the war

Who is to say finishing something is harder than starting?

Maybe it is not one mightier than another

Yet it is that one is the other

Nations are changed by words and actions

One alone falls short
