rainy, lazy
Marge Redelicia Feb 2015
bury yourself between
sheets and covers.
stay all day
in your pajama and sweater.
watch the droplets
slide down the window in a race.
smell the hot cocoa
as the steam wafts to your face.
put out those blazing thoughts
with the sound of static rain.
maybe the chilly air
can ease those burning pains.
from busy to lazy,
the city's enfolded in peace.
at least for a moment,
all worries stand still and cease.
i'm ok i promise,
i just miss the rain.

Of miles and maybe's
Marge Redelicia Apr 2014
Maybe I'll hear your distinct funny laugh
even across murmurs and mechanical hums
in a subway in Singapore
       Maybe I'll find you
behind smoke from exotic dishes cooking;
where the aroma of spices is wafting
up into the humid Indian air
Maybe I'll see your sweet face
reflecting the colorful glows
of fireworks painting the night sky
in a fiesta in Mexico
       Maybe I'll come across you
at a sandy Guatemalan shoreline,
where the crashing waves
could add rhythm
to the poems that we make
       Maybe when I'm stranded
you'll tap on my car window
to help me out of a snowstorm in Canada
that your tropical skin hates
       Maybe we will share
the same park bench in DC
and we could contemplate all day
on our countries' intertwined histories
       Maybe we will
gasp in surprise
squeal in delight
and give each other
a tight handshake
a big high five
or maybe even
a warm embrace
Maybe we live thousands or even
hundreds of thousands of miles apart
but one way or another
we will see each other again
**I will make that a certainty
I hate how I don't want things to rhyme but then they end of rhyming and how I'm trying to give lines a definite meter but they just don't mehe

Marge Redelicia Sep 2015
you told me that you were
just playing it safe,
careful to keep your perfectly powdered face from grime
and getting dirt under your manicured nails.
you try to maintain that posture with poise and grace,
while others break their backs and crawl
on the ground on their knees and bellies.

you told me
that you are playing nice.
you said that you are loving, caring, kind, and generous
and all those pretty qualities.
that's true,
but
one glance at your eyes
is enough to know fully that
you are also
fearful and terrified.
you are a coward:
a prisoner of pride
playing god as you place your trust on yourself.
taunted by questions of  rejection, ability, and sufficiency,
you cowered in your high tower
instead of joining the frontlines in the fight.
frozen by fear
your heart has gone too numb and cold, for
the doubt and anxiety has put out your fire.

you said that you have won it all.
but actually,
you know nothing.
nothing!
about triumph and victory
for though the world has plunged into calamity,
you were never one with the army.
your bright eyes has seen death
but only from the sidelines.
you defile the purpose of your armor
by keeping it perfectly polished
when it is meant to be stained by mud and blood.

you told me that you were just playing it smart.
you said that it's only rational, logical,
the normal human response
to take every measure to avoid pain and harm.
you behold the chaos
and cry
"they are fools!"
and
you are
perfectly
right.
they made themselves
into proud and shameless fools
for they know well that
the fools are the ones chosen to shame the wise.

darling,
just
stop
playing it nice, safe, an smart
for this is not a game,
this is
war.

strip off the crown and ball gown and
pick up your sword and armor.
from your high tower,
run
to the mountains and fields
to the homes and cities
run
to the trenches and frontlines.
for it's either you lose your self or lose the fight

soldier,
warrior,
get ready to pour out sweat, tears,
and even blood.
though you have yet to see
still,
claim victory:
the war has already been won
before it has even begun.

*it is
done.

Marge Redelicia Oct 2013
Screaming
In bright lights, bold colors
Driving by billboards,
TV, magazines The
Lies
For young children to see
That distorts the meaning of value and beauty
That it’s all about
The wheel at your hands
The house at your feet
Your
Skin
White as bones, overexposed
Whose name is wrapping your
Stick, sick
Flesh

It’s all about
Me
In this consumerism

To believe these deceptions
Is to
Deny and shun
What He has said,
What He has done
And to accept these distortions
Is to
Push Glory’s embrace and
Spit at Beauty’s face
For the way of the world
Is a blind subversion
Against The
Holy
Holy
Holy God

‘Cause He said
He bought you with a price
His beloved Son, Jesus Christ
No need to chase this and that
Turn back
He has been chasing after you
That is fact
Are you lost?
Are you broken?
Well in Him you are loved
Not just accepted,
Chosen
He is Father.
And from enemy you became
His son, His daughter
Can the world just please know that
They are
Children, royal heirs
Not tools
Not meat
Not slaves
To tree fibers flattened together
To the ogling eyes of men
Just as ***** and blind as theirs

It’s an honor that this
We Christians know
In the world we are tasked
The Truth we must show
So do not conform
To these unattainable norms
Take heart
Set yourself apart
For tomorrow is the due
The Lord will do amazing things among you

Remember:
One coin is one vote
For the kind of world we want to see
For the kind of world we want to be
Ponder
That those trash are only made and sold
Because people lust over those worldly strongholds
So, make certain
That the things that you buy
That the votes that you cast are for
Modesty, security, purity,
God’s name, God’s glory.
The icons, the trends we
Have been following,
It’s time to start leading

Do not falter
This generation we can alter
No need to be economists, politicians, or preachers
Just as Christian consumers
We have the power
Those are not mere dull coins or crumpled bills in your hands
You know what it is?

I can't believe
You've lived eighteen long years
I don't want to believe
You're of legal age
Because just yesterday
You arrived for school 2 hours late for
You slept at 4 am because of anime
Your blue boxers would show even if you wore a belt
You bought 100 Pesos worth of Spanish bread during recess
You dared to punctuate your English report with wrong grammar
You dunked iced tea bottles to the trash can, imitating Jordan
You ran and screamed in the hallways with the 3rd graders
You hanged your sweaty shirt to dry at the lockers
You spammed our physics teacher's laptop with selfies
You bit my shoulder, literally
You drew kitties and robots in your math test
You attempted to sing to dubstep
You took a nap at the carpeted library floor and
You almost ran over me with your car
So even if you're now an adult officially
You're still this messed up kid to me
Happy birthday though
You're finally 18
My wish for you is that you would be careful
'Cause you're old enough to hit the slammers
*I guess age is really just a number
Most of my friends are turning 18 this year I can't believe it...

We are the stressed
Marge Redelicia Dec 2013
in the morning
we struggle with the bed sheets that
wrap us, bind us

in the afternoon
we crawl to our desks
and burn our faces
with radiation
from our phones, from our laptops
reasoning, pleading, typing, and clicking
away the words and sentences
that could decide our fates

in the evening
the voices sharing laughter and stories are
nowhere
to be found in the dinner table
there is only the hurried clanging
of forks and knives against porcelain
we swallow several morsels of reheated leftovers
and just drown our stomachs with coffee and pills
the breath of our sighs fill the air
and bring us to suffocation

we drag our limbs
to wherever
the answers and solutions may be
with all our might,
we anchor ourselves against the world's spin

our sunken weary eyes
glance at each other from time to time
no words are spoken
but from those fleeting moments
we know the burdens that the other carries
as much as our hearts ache to
we can't help each other
because we're already too lost helping ourselves
Edited! Just noticed that I accidentally deleted an entire stanza of the poem!

Marge Redelicia May 2014
your ears are jammed with
energetic beats and good melodies
though accompanied with
lyrical lies that
distort
our views on what really matters and
define
who we are and how we should be.

and your eyes:
glued to the screen
as you await to see
if your face
is worth enough of those
tiny blue thumbs up.

but
you've absorbed
too much nonsense and radiation
from those handheld contraptions that
you have grown
too deaf and too blind
to see anything beyond yourself

but I say that it is time that you
look up,
open your eyes,
and see
His holy
glory setting upon
our minds waking
our hearts stirring
our passion blazing
our generation rising
our people fighting
our nation triumphing

look up,
open your eyes,
and see that
hope is alive and abundant!
because Hope is with us,
Hope is in us, and
Hope is through us.

all these chaos is translating
into something beautiful and exciting
so come

the composer and me
Marge Redelicia Mar 2015
you were a brilliant composer.
you piece syllables
together into symphonies.
your words are
carefully crafted into a masterpiece.

in my every waking
i am greeted with new songs
that escape from
your lips
like sun rays at the break of dawn.
i can listen to you sing unceasingly.

but
the time of the
days, months, years that passed
became the length of the
distance between us,
and your songs got
softer and
softer,
eventually fading
into silence.

it turns out that was just an intermission.

you came back and
your songs start playing again
but
now i can't dance to your rhythm;
i can't harmonize to your melodies.

you were a brilliant composer
but now
i can't find
what your words mean to me.
my poetry nowadays sound so "synthetic". i don't know, i just can't seem to write like how i used to.

Point of Tangency
Marge Redelicia Dec 2014
Lazy Monday.
Raining Morning.
Inky pens.
Empty papers.

This 4-cornered room became a
Vast new world
When I met
You.

Your "What's your name?"
was more than a question, it was
An invitation to
A breath of fresh air,
A gulp of warm sunshine,
A waltz on green grass.

From small talk on the
Wet weather,
The films at the theater,
And our ******* professor,
Our lips spilled over.
Awkward smiles became
Shy giggles then
Uncontrollable laughter.

We pulled each other to conversations on
Artists Picasso, Van Gogh
Historians Constantino, Ocampo.
I told you about
Distant galaxies and the theory of gravity
While you said things on
Progressive policies and your farming family.
You said pick-up lines, I gave knock-knock jokes.
We tried to mash-up Let It Be and Let It Go.
Your mind was a treasure chest full of stories
Forever you
And your words are engraved in my memory.

All this ended though
When the clocks striked 3.
The session was over;
There's no reason to be here anymore
And so I guess it's best for us to just
Leave.

"It was nice meeting you."
But it's horrible that
We will never meet again.
What was us will just get lost in the plane infinity
For this moment that we shared
Is just a mere
Point of tangency.
The point of tangency is where a geometric line touches a surface once but never intersects it. This fictional poem is inspired by economic isoquant curves and budget lines, as well as all my awesome professors and classmates that I had this semester whom I will probably never meet ever again :(

Dragonheart
Marge Redelicia Jul 2014
Every word he utters
Sounds like a mighty roar
And his hands can stir storms
And great gusts of wind.
His eyes are weapons
Piercing through my heart
Scarring me,
Leaving me to be
Never the same ever again.

But behind that fierce facade
And thick skin toughened by time
Is a heart
Gently glowing with the embers of
Hope,
Faith,
And love.
It burns on not only with passion,
But with compassion.
It is a light and a lamp,
A firework and a forest fire.

He has might and bravery,
boldness and tenacity, but
In his power
He has purpose,
And in his leadership he extended
Love.
Look up and
See him soar high in the sky,
For he has written his name
In the book of the legendary.

Marge Redelicia Jul 2014
you make me
shiver.

no warm greeting and bright smile
can thaw your heart
enfolded in ice.
i thought
maybe there's a blizzard blazing in your mind,
burying your hopes in depths of snow
and you've grown
too cold and too numb
to notice.

at the short second you met my gaze,
i saw that your once bright brown eyes
now had a deep shade of blue:
painted with fear and anxiety.
and as you flicked your head away
i felt a chilly gale,
so frigid
it's enough to make any hot blood crystallize

who knew that your silence to me
can sound like a ravaging avalanche, crashing

i don't
want to touch you
for i'm afraid that i would
freeze,
unable to move
on and swallow the cold hard fact that
you really do
not care
for me
at all.

so i'll just huddle to myself,
stay frozen,
and shiver
as i think of the catastrophe
that has happened
to you
and of you.

departing (part 1)
Marge Redelicia Aug 2015
it was a rainy day.
no,
actually it was a stormy day.
not as ravaging as the hurricane in my heart though.
however, i don't understand why
though the winds howled and the thunders crashed
inside my chest,
not a drop fell from my eyes.

lunch break rush
it was surprising and nostalgic to find
that all the tables were filled up except
the one
where we sat together
exactly a year and a month ago.

nothing has changed.
the restaurant's still crowded and noisy,
same old wobbly chairs,
same view of the the high-rise buildings
and kids playing around in the flower shop.
the only difference is that
you are not there
sitting in front of me.
i am alone.
in place of your smiles and stories
there is just
absence,
silence.
and that's how it will be for 5 years
as you board the plane in 3 days.

i sat there staring at my reflection
in my cheap cup of coffee that has gone cold.
i'm pondering
how should i knock on your door one last time?
how could i make my lips turn upward
despite all these feelings that's bearing me down?
i'm asking
where is the good in goodbye?
what now when you're gone,
and all that's left are these sweet memories
that now sting
because these fragmented thoughts
are all i'll ever have of you?
i'm questioning
why?
why do you even have to leave?
why of all the people in my life
it had to be you?

it was a rainy day.
no,
actually it was a stormy day
and the sky is weeping, wailing
in my place.
i find it ironic though how
the sky is where you will be
in the next 3 days.
did i even use the word ironic right? i don't know anymore.

"ugly"
Marge Redelicia Dec 2014
from wading in the shallow waters
of the world's perception of
beauty
she plunged into the "ugly" truth

she washed off the
layers of powdery pigments
with the hot tears tracing down her cheeks
she tore down the
expensive garments that draped her body
exposing her skin and bones:
worn and torn? yes
frail and fragile, no
she stands strong and sturdy.

now
she wears
her crimson wounds like golden jewelry
her beads of sweat like strings of pearls

she stands
firm on the truth
that beauty is more than just
pulling attention
by external attraction
it is pushing
past set expectations for
what is more captivating
than freedom
from binding limitations,
what is more glorious
than a revolution

dig down deeper
and embrace yourself
completely
there is more to beauty
than just being pretty

A broken wreck
A blind rebel
So lost
So broken
Chasing rapids
Diving waterfalls
Only to end up in a
Vast murky
Ocean
And sink
                                                                                   Endlessly
To its cold, lonely depths

But He
Breaks the chains
That anchors me to sin
But He
Fishes me out
Of the dark abyss
And I
Rise
Rise beyond the surface
And I
Live
Live for the very first time

He waters down my briny filth---guilt
He wraps me in a thick blanket
With love in every stitch
He hands me a warm mug of cocoa
Overflowing with marshmallows
But He didn't even need to
How could He even want to

And then He welcomes me to His ship
Of formidable majesty and splendor,
Gives me a net,
And names me as a fisher of men
We sail
We fish
Through stormy seas
Vast oceans
Savage pirates
But all is well
All is great, in fact
For His ship is firmly established
A jewel made of iron
And He always knows the Way
Because He is,
He is the Captain of Captains
And I am His fisher of men

I am not a Christian
Marge Redelicia Jan 2014
No, I am not a Christian, rather
I am a child adopted and chosen
I am a friend, He is my buddy
I am a follower, humbly obeying the Leader
I am a disciple, carrying my cross daily
I am an heir of the heavenly kingdom
I am a steward of the gifts that he gave me
I am a servant, loyal and faithful
I am a princess, set apart and of royalty
I am a citizen in but not of this world
I am an ally, no longer an enemy
I am a soldier constantly in battle
I am a conqueror, for He has won the victory
I am a slave, not to sin but to righteousness
I am an ambassador, representing peace
I am a new creation, gone is the old
I am a handiwork, a grand masterpiece
I am a branch yielding much fruit
I am a temple, the Spirit lives in me
I am a light and salt to all the nations
I am His possession, bought with a price too heavy
The word "Christian" was initially a derogatory word and it is becoming again so recently. Christians are usually portrayed as legalistic hypocrites especially in popular media and I mostly blame this on the people who have forgotten that Christianity is something that is more of a relationship than a religion, and more of "doing" than "being".

A Psalm of Praise
Marge Redelicia Jul 2014
I'd always like to think that Your skin
is studded with a billion diamonds
for its lustrous clarity and sheer fortitude.
Your teeth to me are pearls precisely sculpted,
and Your every smile is a radiant beam of sunshine.
Your hair is a fathomless ocean
with mysteries hidden within its tangles;
my hands sail through Your smooth locks.
The creases of Your palms
are as deep as canyons
laden with abundant streams of blessings beneath.
Your voice is music:
as piercing as an orchestra of thunders,
yet also as gentle as a raindrop
sliding down a blade of grass.
And in Your eyes I see the universe.
I look closely and see
that those twinkles are actually
supernovas exploding and galaxies colliding.
And like the universe,
Your eyes engulf the entirety of my being.

You are Beauty.
You are Glory.
You are.

Before I entered my new job and got new friends and a new boss
I was a sailor
Man
Sea waters runs through my veins
With kisses, the cool winds have smothered my face
These blue waves used to greet me goodmorning everyday
And ****
My body is so hot
Because under the sun
My skin is just baked

So now
I'm just happy to see
My good old friend again
To unfurl the sails
To hear the floorboards squeak under my feet
To drink the moon glow cascading on us thick like milk

However
One key characteristic of the sea is its unpredictability
Sheer mystery
And in my lifetime as a sailor
It still leaves me
Grappling with her curious cases of conundrums

Somewhere along the middle
When we thought that we will just sail straight
No
We just got spat and slapped in the face
By cruel waves and cold wind
From a squall.
Like a storm but more severe and sudden
Too fast this hits us with no warning

The winds stirred the waters
Infusing it with rage
We're being tossed around, manhandled
By the wall of water towering,
Crashing on the boat and swamping everything
Desperately trying to hold on to something
Because I can't
stand straight
But how do I do so when
I can't even get a hold of myself and think straight

As the waters flood the deck
Questions flood my mind
What
What is happening and
How
How do we get out of it
How do we keep this ship from getting wrecked?
When dawn breaks tomorrow will there still be
A beat and a breath inside our chests or
Will the sun just find us on the shoreline dead?

Over the roar of the storm
I'm asking why
Why now?
Why us?
Why
me?
When I
Have done nothing wrong
to deserve this harsh punishment
This cruel treatment
My hands are clean
I'm innocent
Faithful, in fact
To You Jesus

Jesus
What are you doing?
Why are you sleeping
so soundly
On a cushion at the back of the ship?
How can you ignore this raging storm
The impending wreck which will seal
Our certain deaths?
Don't you care?
Can't you see?
How can you bear to sleep through our agony?
Have you forsaken us
And allowed us wallow in despair and tragedy?
Wake up! Jesus please
Where are you
in this desperate time of need?

Finally he awakens
And to all my questions he responds with one as well
He asks me
Where
Where is your faith?

I fell
Silent
And so does the squall
Mighty you arise and speak with authority
You command the wind and the waves to cease
And they do
They were viciously violent
But now
They've calmed down
Completely
The sea is conquered by
Serenity

Wait
One more question
Who is this man?
Who are you Jesus
That though the tides and torrents come
You can still sleep soundly like a baby
Safely
Resting in security with the fact
That no storm can ever bring you down to defeat
You are
Peace
so powerful
You command all noise to
Still
Ness
You see joy and beauty amidst the mess
When chaos hears your voice
It ceases
So please
Speak on

Maybe
We'll have infinite questions but
Zero or even negative answers
Though the world falls apart
falter we won't
A paradox
Transcending all understanding
This powerful peace
Strong serenity
And that is because
Hope is here
And Hope cares for me
For us
Now i know
That as long as He is with me
the storm is a sanctuary

Good Morning
Marge Redelicia Oct 2013
Let's take a walk
And watch how everything
Starts

Smell the sweet fragrance of flowers blossoming,
The rich aroma of pan de sal baking
In the crisp air not too polluted.
Hear the ringing of coffee being stirred,
The sizzling of golden eggs in a pan,
The rattling of trees as they sway with the breeze,
The chirping of birds playing above you,
The chatting of vendors about the news, and
The chuckling of grandfathers as they reminisce their youths.

To this nocturnal generation
Who loves to stay up all night
And sleep in 'til noon:
Add some wonder in your life
By exploring the morning,
The dawning, beginning,
The birthing
Of the same situations
Probably problems*
But new opportunities.
Add some wonder in your life by waking up early!

the thought
of you
feels like butterflies
fluttering in my stomach,
but as my dreamer heart
gets injected
with more doses of reality
my stomach aches
as the butterflies
start to
eat through it.
the world watches
as a tragic
phenomena unfolds:
the deeper i
fall in love with you
the more i
am filled with hate
for myself
because
i know well
i cant have you,
i know too well
im not supposed too.
people say that
opposites attract but a
hurricane and an earthquake
is a calamity,
not a match.
but i cant help it and
i just feel so stupid and helpless
for helplessly loving you.

Be the iron ore smelting in a crucible
Constantly being refined.
Ready to be molded into a mighty weapon.
Ready to be wielded in battle.
You possess a warm glow attracting.
And the lives that you touch
Burn along in love and
Melt along in awe of Glory.

Or

Be the brine drawn from the dark arctic depths,
With your cold pride
And salty apathy that leaves
Mouths and throats
Dry
And stirs bellies
To malfunction,
Then inaction.

But

Be not the stagnant puddle
Most toxic.
Reflecting heaven
But still clinging to the earth.
Collecting raindrops from the sky
Together with dirt from the soles of men.

For

Do not be lukewarm,
Neither hot nor cold,
For He will spit you out.

Marge Redelicia Jan 2015
I never heard her say "I love you"
But I did hear her say
"Wake up. Breakfast is ready."
"Here's some extra money."
"Make sure you bring an umbrella today."
"Buckle your seat belt."
"Did you do your homework?"
"I saved a seat for you."
"Be home by ten."
"Are you okay?"

Truthfully
I can say that
I feel love
Not because I hear it
But because I see it.
"I love you" is just a sentence unless you act on it. Show it, don't say it.

He is Electric
Marge Redelicia Nov 2013
His heart is a power plant
Infinitely generating
Love
---Electrifying.
Night and day
It pulses
Its beat
That makes anyone who hears it
Sing
Away all his fears and troubles
And dance
In sweet joy and perfect peace.

My heart is a light bulb,
Merely a piece of glass.
I am cold, empty
I am fragile,
But when I plugged to the source
There was a click,
An explosion rather,
Of light
Raw, untamed
And it set fire to every inch of my being,
Not sparing even a single crevice.
The insecurities and weaknesses
I kept most secret,
All burned away.

Once, no, was always
Frail and futile
But now by the energy that surges in me
I am powerful,
And I love
Even the horrible, detestable
Because He loved me first.

My hollow heart
Gains purpose, meaning:
I live to shine
Bright
For all the world to see,
To emanate a warm, rare glow
That will draw you
Away from the cold darkness and
Not to me
For I am merely a void vessel,
But to the ultimate source
So that your life as well
Will be full of light.

In this world,
In this war
I am lower than a peasant
I am dust,
Subject to the chains and whips of
The Prince of the world,
The Father of lies
But by grace
Through faith
I will make him
Cringe in chills
As I ignore his temporary pleasures
Tremble violently
As I reject his broken promises
Scream out his lungs
As I remain on what is pure
Cower and hide
As I stand up for what is right
Fall to his knees
As I point his lies to the Truth
Then
I will wait,
Wait patiently, earnestly
For the King of the entire Creation
To deliver the final blow,
The finishing act
To return and banish
The Prince of the world
To his ultimate

My Forest
Marge Redelicia Oct 2013
Venture within my mind,
I challenge you.
A forest so strange, so vast, so wild, so dense.
Bear with you a cruel set of bow and arrows,
And most importantly, a shield of your faith.
Take care of your shield and do not lose it.

My forest is teeming with trees, my memories.
Some are grand and sublime.
Their branches embrace the infinite sky,
While their shadows will brighten and lighten your soul.
Some are inferior and despicable.
Their branches dangle and will ***** you in the eye
Though you will have told them hundreds of times that you do not want to see them ever again.

My forest is abounding of creatures, my thoughts.
The rabbits, deer, and monkeys gleefully dancing around are very much worth minding.
But beware of the birds! They swoop from nowhere, nowhere at all, and pester everything.
Beware of the snakes! They are delightfully shiny and smooth.
But if you play with them, they will poison you and eat you alive.
You will exist in their foul stomach until you are complete dissolved.

The core of my forest
Is a colossal mountain of questions.
It is treacherous. It is cold.
It scrapes the sky and for sure it will scrape you.
Do not climb it,
For at the top, you will find unacceptable and invalid answers.
Most of the time, no answers at all.

Conquer me, please.
Endure the precious distance and the precious pain.
But before you end your adventure,
Pray that my forest will not become a city in the future
(A city is corrupted and cluttered and detached and deranged)
And share with me a part of yourself
Because no one does.
I wrote this poem back when I was in 8th grade, I think. It's so emo and dark, I can't believe I wrote this!

Unconditional
Marge Redelicia Mar 2014
I can dance in the rain
And even in hurricanes;
Face the giants with a wide smile
Stay still even in earthquakes.
No matter what the world
Hurls and throws at me,
I am happy.

No, wait!
I am more than that actually,
Because happiness is just based on happenings.

I have something that defies
The laws of calamity and crying.
I have something that is stronger
Than any outside pressure. I
Have something that is
Not reliant on present circumstances,
Something that still blooms forth
Despite the most unfavorable chances.

I have
Unconditional joy
Because of my
Unconditional faith
That my God
Unconditionally loves me.

Marge Redelicia Oct 2013
Love
is like sleep

If untimely, hastily
awakened
before the destined due,
in the dark
hours before the sunrise
it causes you
to easily forget
the wise words
and stories on regrets
it causes you
to run on
unsound conscience
and run out
of precious patience
it causes you
to carelessly create
flawed judgments
and defective decisions
filling your day with
malfunction
dysfunction
frustration
infliction

Yourself, spare
To me, swear:
Do not
arouse or awaken
love
until it so desires

Heaven
Marge Redelicia May 2014
I think our eyes would light up and ignite
As we finally return His gaze on us.
And every second to eternity
Will be painted with joy as
We play hide and seek in the maze
Created by the train of His robe that fill heaven's halls.
Then we will swim and splash in His overflowing glory,
And in the towering staircase,
Race each other to His throne.
But no
We won't grow tired and weary
I think that we will even go ahead
And get dizzy from dancing in worship
And lose our breath from laughing and singing praises.

Well...
We might just turn heaven into a playground,
But then again
We are His children after all!
Some people think of the golden streets and big rooms when you mention heaven. But this is what comes up to my mind.

He's as straight as a curved line
Or so we speculate, or so he denies
A thousand signs, a million hints
Never as refreshing as an evening mint

He praises the men who live in the screen
Projected in front for all to be seen
“Is he attracted?” we ask
“Or is he just trying to bring joy so that his sadness will be masked?”

Deeper and deeper the bird plunges
Smaller and smaller the sky gets
His limbs flow and soon, suffocated
The days of his junk is dated

A sudden movement, always an explosion
Always seems intoxicated by a freak potion
Unnecessary but not always unwanted
But still every inch of his body is demented

His wretchedness is our pleasure
The distance between his pain and our joy cannot be measured
I say, everything in the universe is against him
We say, his very existence is sticky and dim

Angry mom
Uncleaned room
Missing chair
Math grade in doom

Lost books
Crossed and shaky legs
Blemished looks
Intermediate pad in despair

Rotten eggs
Sudden rain
Dancing legs
Junk in pain

Moldy bread
Virused usb
Relationship with girlfriend now dead
Showing off his bare body

Humongous hands
Side comments
Life never bland
But forever in lament

Alas, I bombarded him with questions
He states that he feels no hatred is most situations
Sometimes we wish that his life would change
But that would make our own very strange
Bird = v neck
Sky = skinny jeans

Let me in
Marge Redelicia Dec 2013
The harsh sun beat on your back
The wind blew away
Everything
You held on to
The ground shook you to your knees
And the people who you thought would help you up
Did not but tried to bury you down
So you ran inside
And slammed the door shut,
Adorned it with locks,
And laced it with chains
You swallowed the key
And huddled to yourself
At the far side of the room
And made yourself careful
Too careful
And not caring
Of me
Standing outside your door
Gently tapping on the cold old wood
Continuously whispering
"Let me in...
      Let me in...
            Let me in..."
Let me in
Because I know that inside that door
I will find a mind
Exploding with the greatest stories
On the genres adventure and comedy
I will find a heart
Glowing with the warm embers
Of devotion and love.
Sometimes
My tapping escalate into banging
And my whispering: too loud
Now I'm shouting
Because I get frustrated
Of the lies you've blinded yourself with
And made you too paralyzed to live.
You are wrong,
So wrong
When you think that
I'm here to laugh at you,
Because I'm here to laugh with you
When you think that
I'm here to take from you,
Because I'm here to share with you
When you think that
I like you,
Because actually
I love you.
And so I'm begging you
Please

Anywhere but here.
Marge Redelicia Feb 2014
We're stuck in a terrible traffic jam
Of a river of red lights.
At the car dashboard there is a faint green glow:
It's 11 pm.
I already feel tired for tomorrow
Even if it hasn't started yet
For I know I have to wake up at 5 am.

As my mind fills with fatigue and frustration
I hope in my heart
That my dad would never stop driving.
I wish that he would
     drive
            d r i v e
                  d  r  i  v  e
                        and  d   r   i   v   e
To wherever the road takes us and just
Let the dim orange street lamps lead us
To a brighter tomorrow.

I beg to break free from the city borders for
I can't seem to take the stress out of me
So just take me out of the stress.
Let this auto's mechanical hum
Drown my thoughts.
Let every revolution of the wheel
Oust the monsters reigning,
Preying on my mind.

The greens of the rain forests and rice fields,
The blues of the mountains and the ocean
Would zoom in smudged colors
In the artwork that is my window.
Roll it open and the wind
Would gently kiss my face and stroke my hair.
I will sigh,
Releasing the remnants of
My exhaustion and combusted fossils exhausted,
And filling my lungs with the air smelling
Of pine trees and the ocean breeze.

So I hope that we would never stop driving,
And let the road take us anywhere
I don't really care
As long as its
Anywhere but here.
Manila traffic is the worst and with the Skyway 3 construction coming up, I don't know anymore. God spare us please.

Joy and Peace
Marge Redelicia Dec 2013
You come to Him
And sit on His lap
You greet Him
With your various appeals and requests:
Sentences and paragraphs
Wrapped with
"I want this"
and "Give me that"
And you search and inspect His hands for
The gifts and presents
Wrapped in pretty papers and big bows
But forget not that
He is far more---
He is light years beyond
The source of your joy and peace
Because
He is joy
He is peace
And so
Still
The erratic spin of the compass
Of your heart
And point the arrow
Back to your first love,
The One who loved you first
Humble before Him
And fall on your knees,
Fall at His feet
Stop searching His hands
And start seeking His face
Marvel and adore
The Master of masterpieces
Entitled "Beauty Personified"
In the silence,
Hear His melodic whispers
That calls for you singing,
"My friend, My child"
Bask in the rays of His radiance
Let His comforting warmth seep in your skin
And melt you,
Every part and particle of you
Smell His sweet aroma
That wafts and saturates the air
Breathe His breath
That made the stars explode into light
And made you come to life
Taste His goodness and
Fill yourself with His glory
And let it overflow
As praises
-----Just praises
Because there is already
Great joy and
Perfect peace
In just praising Him because
He is Joy

Summer! Finally
Marge Redelicia Jun 2014
Summer!
The weather is as warm as our embraces
And the sky is as bright
As our tomorrows,
Finally...

It's time to drive to the coast and
Bury our dark worries in white sand
And let our
Smiles mirror the million sparkles
That erupt as we splash
In the briny beach.
And then
Let's get ourselves chocolate tans
with a tint of oranges and strawberries.
Oh,
And sticky kisses
From too much creamy avocado ice creams.

But we won't let the fun falter
Even if we huddle inside
Because we'll finally have time
To read
Adventure novels instead of textbooks
And write
Poems instead of essays on
Metaphysics. We can now
Stay up and
Watch the stars fade into the sunrise while
Sharing ghost stories and secrets
Instead of homework answers.

Summer!
Let out a sigh of relief and then
Take in a gasp of excitement.
Finally!
Actually my summer started in February and it will still end on August. 2 more months to go. Honestly, I'm really excited to go to college already.

Rain is coming
Marge Redelicia Jul 2014
Rain is coming
In this dry and barren land.

You may expect it to come in a cool mist
Or tiny raindrops that pitter-patter on your red roof,
But if you look up to the far horizon you'll see
Giant pillars of clouds in the sky
Casting heavy dark shadows.
From it you'll know that

Rain is coming
And it is coming in a heavy downpour .

The howling winds will whip us.
The rain will soak our skin
And the cold will seep into our bones.
Deafening thunders will pierce
Not only our ears but also our hearts.
Structures will be struck by lightning
And erupt in flames.
Mountains will crumble.
Valleys will flood.
And we will have no choice
But to hold on to each other
Or perish.

But when the sky calms down and the storm subsides,
The light of day will reveal
A city cluttered with chaos,
Beyond rearranged:
Reinvented.
But now
Dry streams are once again
Flowing with coolness and clarity.
The floods had revived the parched soil,
The sleeping seeds we have planted, now awakened.

Finally
There will be growth,
There will be progress,
There will be abundance, overflowing.
We will be blessed
And called to be a blessing to others.

Finally
Our toils and tears will have justice.
Our faults and failures will have mercy.
But in our depth and in our death,
Grace:
Unconditional,
Richly lavished.

Countrymen
Bear the dry dust a little longer,
Just keep fighting the faith
And holding on to hope.
And when it comes,
Welcome the sky with open arms
But at the same time
Brace yourselves for

it has reached your hands and feet

for your dream and
by the hope that you have.
