Pink-Haired Wildflower I know you. I see you. everyday at least once Your pedals are short    and cute    chopped off at the chin Your clothes are loose    and indie    style, you wear so well You walk so confidently       each stride your own. You glitter shining vibrantly       like the stud in your nose. You smile so easily       and laugh with no care in the world. Pink-Haired Wildflower do you know me? do you see me? each time I pass you on the way I look at you and try not to stare your flowered beauty beholds me I wonder what you think of me This bent over gait    dark-circle-eyed    fool. I am    struggling to stay upright. Can you see the weight on my shoulders? The stress in my complexion?       my gnawed on nails and torn skin Tell me, what do you see in my gaze? I wish I possessed your confidence. Your grace in billowed petals. Your fragrance has a trail    that always circles back to me.    everyday I see you.    though I say nothing. Whatever you are I want you in a bouquet on my bedside table as I lie there trying not to cry or die. Let your rank beauty infect me aromatic surround me. Be mine. Lay claim to me. Show me your ways. or at least learn my name as if I knew yours You're a stranger to me Pink-Haired Wildflower last night your dyed your hair Blue

Pink-haired Wildflower
Rest in this, my bruised and weary soul: I was a wretch, chosen to be a beauty; a slave, chosen to be a bride; an orphan, chosen to be an heir; an enemy, chosen to be a friend. I deserved nothing but wrath and death yet received everything of life and grace. I am loved beyond any dreaming of it and blessed above all worldly wealth. I have the incomparable birthright of those whose Father is God and whose Lord is Jesus Christ— righteousness from Him and peace with Him. I am a cherished gift from the Father to the Son. I was paid for by the Son’s own blood and am "engraved on the palms of His hands." I am the living temple of God’s Holy Spirit Who empowers me to do His pleasure and bring Him glory. I am the LORD's, chosen and set apart for His delight. ***What more could I ask? But that's only the beginning...*** I will live as blessed as I believe myself to already be, for "I have been blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ," "given everything I need for life and godliness" through knowing Him and His precious promises, "an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade— kept [securely and eternally] in heaven" for me. I've been "raised up and seated with Christ"; my "life is hidden with Him" in the Father, and "He will fill me with joy in His presence, with eternal pleasures at His right hand." Oh, that "the eyes of my heart would be enlightened with the spirit of wisdom and revelation" to see what’s already been prepared and given to me and to know much more fully the One Who has so meticulously prepared and lavishly given it. As I walk intimately with Him and rest confidently in Him (based only on His merits, never my own), I am given free access to my account in His heavenly storehouse and enabled to appropriate its glorious riches to every circumstance of my life, even the most searingly painful and confoundingly difficult ones. I have a spiritual Fort Knox available to me through knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, but He Himself is my greatest treasure. Without Him, nothing else matters. Nothing else has meaning if I am not found in Him, clinging to Him and carried by Him. When I finally become desperate for Him alone, I begin to understand the profound reality of all He desires for me and offers to me in my spiritual inheritance in Him. There are infinite presents to be unwrapped in His presence which cannot be told in human words or comprehended by mortal minds, but they wait to be taken hold of by any and all who would take hold of Him. ***For He gives and gives and gives and gives, and even when He takes, He gives.***#

there are chains on my desk, you cant see them but i can, in fact i can feel them. i can feel them tight around my neck pulling me away from my soul. they slowly drag me 'forward'. my grip on freedom weakens as the links tussle my neck, the singing of birds fade and become more distant. singing choirs cease to sing. the sun shines differently, its a dim light with no glimmer anymore. i see less colours now and my muscles ache. i move less, smell less, feel less. its cold as i subdue to the pull. my clattering and rebellious steps form rhythm my legs conform as i march in sync with all the same misfortunates around me dragged and dragged we march there is no point to resist now we march confidently we march but our souls were left behind

Our Chains
As human beings we risk looking like a fool for love because we have dreams for the adventure of being alive. But as so often happens we are opened by life's betrayals or we are closed from fear of further pain but still want that chance to dance in the rain. How many of us never realize that our feelings toward others are determined by our feelings toward ourselves. Be realistic and remember the limitations of being human and remember if you can't love yourself you can't love others. Let go when you're hurting too much and give up when love isn't enough. We must learn to move on when things are not like before and know that there is someone out there who will love you even more. Be true to yourself even if you disappoint others and if we must bear the accusation of betrayal don't betray your own soul. See life's beauty even when it is not pretty and be able to live with failure even if it isn't yours. Don't cry because it is over but smile because it happened and realize you only live once but if done right once is all you need. When life offers you a dream that is far beyond what you had ever hoped for don' t grieve when it comes to an end just go confidently in that direction.   Live the life that you have imagined and do more than just exist but live knowing that where there is love there is life. For some reason we never see things as they are but we see them as we are because that is part of the limitations of being human and it is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not. Sometimes we are beautiful maybe not in looks but in what we say and just in what we are so know life is to be enjoyed and  not just endured and know that to someone you are a star.                           Jon  York                                2012

On a summer morning, Monkey had awoken early, His eyes all sleepy, And his hair wildly curly. Swoosh, He opened the door, He had to use his mouth, Because his tail was way too sore. Slam, Monkey shut the door behind him, His friend Panda, Was called hungry, hungry Jim. Monkey was off to work, His tail dragging on the floor, He was sure to be back in time, To feed his family of four. Although monkey was guilty, He missed work twice, Monkey was confidently sure, His boss would be all nice. Monkey had walked to the glass, It said no dogs allowed, For sure he was a monkey, He walked in and proudly bowed. His boss said he had to leave, For he was not a monkey, But monkey had explained, He was very chunky. The boss escorted his out, Angry as could be, For sure he was a monkey, Can’t his work boss see? He decided to go food shopping, At the nearest grocery store, He wanted to get home quickly, So his family wouldn’t be that poor. Monkey walked to the grocery store, His feet were aching, It was 10 miles away, This was a big risk that he was taking. Monkey got there very fast, Quick as in running, It said only monkeys allowed, Wow that sign was stunning! Monkey had barged in, All the monkeys were looking at him, He was told to get out, So then he visited his old friend, Hungry, hungry Jim. When monkey had arrived, Jim had told him he was a dog, So Monkey left ashamed, In the new deep fog. Monkey had decided to go home, And Comfort his 3 young ones, He’d see his wife, Oh, he loved them all a ton. Hungry, Hungry Jim smiled, As if he was really, really bad, He decided not to eat him today, He saw him so sad. Monkey’s house Was just around the corner, It was a pretty color white, But most of the time, There was not much light. He had opened his house door, So lonely and ashamed, He was a monkey, He had claimed. Monkey flickered on the light, Nobody was there, His wife and kids left him a note, “You are a dog, we could not bear”. Monkey was so depressed now, He walked to hungry, hungry Jim’s house He had tiptoed in, And was as quiet as a mouse. Jim had caught him, And asked why he was not home, Monkey had explained, His house is just a comb. Monkey said his family had left him, Because he was a dog, They think I don’t belong, And am just a plain old hog. All of a sudden, The panda ate him whole, And the only thing that was left, Was his sad little soul.

"Hey, Charles! I won't be back." His friend yells out before Continuing to eat the face off Of the young Latino he had met. "Ok! I guess I can get home.. Somehow..." He mumbles to himself, signaling to the Bartender that he wanted to order Something off menu. He pays no attention to the trans Woman who sits down beside him. "I'll have a watermelon sangria, please." he requests softly, but confidently. The lady by him chuckles, "Watermelon? That's odd." Her voice is rich with flavor, And humor. "It is odd. But so am I." He mumbles. "It seems that way, doesn't it? Well, at least now I can call you Melon Rather than ask your name!" "A rather odd nickname for an odd person." And so their conversation continued. It became all the more lively once 'Melon' had had a couple rounds. Both drunk and desperate, they Kiss passionately in the gay bar, Paying no heed to the others Yelling "Get a room!" Roaming hands. Stumbling up stairs. Drunken giggles. Broken speech. "You're so beautiful." He whispers. Skin against skin, Burning hot,   Both mad with desire. Panting. Groaning. Moaning. Ecstasy. We are each our own moon. Charismatic souls reflecting sunlight, As if to illuminate a room, We glow against black, void; an endless night. Like a caterpillar to a butterfly, emerging from a tight knit cocoon, Spreading each wing, confidently slicing the evening air…taking flight. Or even a flower freshly bloomed on a midsummer’s afternoon. The moon: a flower, silently smiling despite the plight. Aside from what each day shuffles in; each night simmers out No matter how often we feel we have lost ourselves… Or leave way to fill our heads with doubt. With recurring assumptions of a worldwide redemption:omnipotent stealth. Needn't some take longer than others to sprout? Staring blankly into a mirror, or a moonless night sky: hungry for answers, yet facing an empty shelf. However, that doesn't infer we embark on a divergent route. Simply due to lack of clarity, lack of reasoning behind each card dealt. With that in mind, Just as the moon, true colors may dwindle…they may fade, yet in essence are always there. Even on a cloudy day, or when the sunshine is at its peak…and just as well for the blind. Full moon, half moon, new moon…waxing, waning: dynamic phases the night sky shares. Moon phases;moody faces…natures way of emphasizing personality defined. Notwithstanding the dark side, each moon may wear. Like a guilty pleasure manifesting in a secret shrine, We all suppress a certain side; to pompous to face reality genuinely bare. Fragments of our faces may always be hidden, But there’s one thing that will never absorb into the eclipse: emotion. Some figure each phase, each wave of vibes … simply fate already written. Devils advocate begs to differ… let your mind emit all distraction and harmonize with the ocean. Effervescent rays, warm barrels in which emotions, old and new, have ridden. Chaotically contradicting thoughts, pulling and pushing, creating the paradox of serene commotion. A world of words from each moon face: a beautiful encryption. We are each our own moon, written in the waves, compelled by life’s devotion.

To live is the rarest thing in the world. I agree with that statement. To live means to have life or to be alive, but how many people actually do that? "Life is a crazy ride and nothing is guaranteed.", said Eminem. So many people in today's day and age have gone through situations, and almost always unexpectedly. The impact of the situation has left many of them with no zest for life, and they end up simply existing. Its pretty sad if you think about it though. Where some of us are living a zealous life, amped with motivation, others are like clouds, just drifting by, day after day. Well, I think that's the problem, I think that is to blame for so many things. People who only exist have no goals for their lives, they become negative and have no hope whatsoever. They become so pessimistic that they sometimes get the better of the optimistic. That shouldn't be happening. I can confidently say that those who live to just exist, are the most negative in our population. Everybody suffers and everybody hurts but some of us have acknowledged the fact that circumstances are temporary, so why should we let it get the better of us. Life is way too short to just go by existing. Doing that is like making food that won't get eaten or buying a phone that you won't use, its pointless. Existing instead of living is almost insulting your creator. Each of us were created for a special purpose, and merely existing is not one of those. I believe that just existing is a waste. So many of us have lost friends and Family members, that we would give anything to see again. You have a life, they don't. Make use of it. Remember that you were only give one life to live, but if you do it right, once is enough. Also, always know that if you love life, it will love you back. Living your life to the best of your ability can only ever have a positive effect on your life. You were given this life because you're strong enough to live it. Take chances. Tell the truth. Say no. Spend all your cash. Get to know someone randomn. Say I love you. Sing out loud. Laugh at stupid jokes. Cry. Apologise. Tell someone how much they mean to you. Laugh till your stomach hurts. Regret nothing. Most importantly, live life.

Live, dont merely exist.

To often we fail to tune ourselves in.    We get caught in rut after rut,       Morphing into puppets... just going with the motions. Too fixated on all we could lose to recognize each win.    So weary of love we keep our hearts bolted shut.       We are so afraid of change we cringe at the notion. Sometimes you need to runaway from reality,    Take a leap off of comforts shoulder…       And dive into your intuition. Free yourself from that corrupt mentality,    And smile to keep the world from growing any colder.       Your soul will sing a melody of bittersweet honesty…just listen. That is where true beauty lay…    In each untouched corner of your heart,       Beneath each unspoken word of your inner voice. It is never to late when you are blessed with another day.    To live simply, take a breath and let the past part…       And confidently make happiness your choice.

A Melody of Bittersweet Honesty
Beauty pageant queen Had a sad, sad life All her mother wanted Was to live vicariously Through a beautiful daughter All her daughter wanted Was a mother who loved her for who she was And didn't care that she was lesbian But her mother beat her until she submitted Her will and her life With words and insults Thrown as spears into the heart of the innocent child The beauty pageant queen walked the steps confidently Ready to reap the greatest reward she had never known: Freedom And as her mother read the note And as her feet swung inches from her mother's grieving head And as the coroner's men came and took her away And as the nation was thrown into an uproar over a woman they never knew And as the people in the streets pointed fingers and called the queen a ***** And as her father heard the news in his second house with his new wife And as the homeless man she was kind to on the corner took his grubby hat off in mourning And as the press went wild and blew everything out of proportion and dehumanized her pain The queen didn't care because she was free from the world Because she was away from the pain Because she was exposed for what she was Because she was dead And she didn't much care about anything Not anymore

Beauty pageants are terrible, terrible things
Beautifully              Insecure Freely              Bound Confidently                Invisible Positively                Negative Lovingly                 Hated Unbreakably                   Broken Every piece of me you think you've figured out, I'll show you how it should look. Not extended, edited, or pondered about. Just a character in a book.

He looked at her, Her hands were caked with black inks, Filled with words she will never utter through her mouth, How effortlessly she twists her hair into messy bun, How she never ever wears make-up, Daring enough not to conceal her beautiful imperfections, How she clung books tightly to her chest, Like a shield defensing her, And how she walks confidently, yet stares on the ground afraid to have any eye contact, I can't help but get attracted more and more by her quirkiness, Every ******* time she passes by me.

Quirky yet Fascinating
I used to love my curves. My plump hips, My thick thighs, My ***** chest, My chubby cheeks. All the curves, stretch marks, and the lumps, Especially my lumps, Made me. And I loved me. Until I met you. When we first met, you worshiped my curves. Kissed on my chest, Gripped my thighs. You used to say, “I love my baby’s fat *** As you would squeeze my thighs and I would laugh. But then reality decided; “Babe you should really workout some” *** I really think you should lose some weight” Or you would talk of other girls, Thinner girls. “Country girls are so hot” “I saw this girl today at work and she was **** So now I’m looking in a mirror. In my black sports bra And my mixed match pink underwear. All I see looking back, is not my plump hips, My thick thighs, My ***** chest Or my chubby cheeks, Not even my lumps, Hell, especially my lumps. I see my belly overflow the hem of my underwear, I see my ******* resting on my stomach, I see the extra skin around my neck, And I notice the way my stomach jiggles when I walk. The sound of my feet hitting the ground, The way things vibrate around me when I walk, My shortness of breath uphill, And the way my thighs touch each other instead of having that gap. That cute gap. That gap that skinny girls have. But now, I cover myself more. The curvy girl who used to wear crop tops confidently, Now wears a hoodie to hide. Secretly apologizing to everyone who ever saw her curves. Her plump hips. Her thick thighs. Her ***** chest. Apologizing to everyone whoever saw, Her. And I compare myself to every girl around me. ‘If I had her legs’ ‘Her stomach’ ‘Her face’ Maybe, Just maybe, You would be saying, “Nerdy girls are hot” Or bragging to your friends “I have this girl and she’s so **** And maybe, Just maybe, You would still be here. And I would laugh, Smile, And blush And we would be happy. Together. But instead, I’m looking at this mirror, And all I see Is a fat girl Looking back at me.

On the twenty third of June, anniversary of my father’s death, The United Kingdom voted to LEAVE the European Union. It was a close-run thing: Fifty two percent to forty eight, Though over a million votes between. A result that will go down in the annals of history. Another vote the pollsters and bookmakers got wrong. I voted Leave, confidently expecting to Lose!!! My friends were split in two As Remainers became ReMOANers! For I’m now branded a nationalist, bigoted racist Who has made a massive mistake. But I insist: Britain has Rejoined the World And Our Commonwealth. We are reborn So sure there will be teething troubles. We’ll have to learn to walk and talk again. Cast off your gloom, Remainers! Rejoice the brand new day. Britain can be great again As the dawn chorus resonates around the globe. Opportunity smiles down on us. It won’t be easy, But when ever was it so??? The Phoenix rises, Unfurling its golden wings… Paul Butters © PB 27\6\2016.

Cocky? I beg to differ There is someone out there that is much better than me So I don't believe, for one second that i'm... Conceded. A word applied To the beautiful people without beautiful minds, embraced by the ones less intellectually fecund than they are... Brazen. Polished? I am. Your feelings? Your worries? ******* I disregard not with brashness But with angelic cause as my own problems are significantly more... Tectonic. Shifting focus from your meager existence as my shear presence fills this page Outraged? You created these proems when daily topics I... Eclipsed. Full moon rising. The lighthouse to your sinking vessel I am not the best, but I am the best of the better of you and your kind, lower-class no offense, I speak... Truth. And the pain it brings I don't worry about such things I don't discount, but I do surpass Their muggle mind with poise and sass Dare I say I'm not cocky, just... Confidently better than you.

Confident
rossy cheeks and pretty eyes, pointed nose and lovely smiles. humbly speaks in every way, gets more beautiful day by day. she walks as if her soul is on fire, that many people really admire. she can barely make my heart flutter, even by just standing right in the corner. many people tried to bring her down, but she didn’t let them take her crown. though haters hate her even more, her kindness remains, that’s what I really adore. confidently proud of what she is, she’s just really such a masterpiece. appeared to be soft but defeats blunt with keen, how can you not love a girl like Maureen?

for Maureen Wroblewitz
When in dark despair drowned I was thinking, joy was nowhere around A gentle breeze from the upland peaks Came and patted on my cheeks Softly whispering- ‘joy is here’ When the last ray of hope had been snuffed out From the vapid plane of my arid heart, A cluster of orchids, beautiful and gay Smilingly nodding their heads on my way Sweetly murmured- ‘joy is here When I feared the earth was caving in Under my feet with no chance to win A butterfly with rainbow colors Alighting on a bunch of flowers Euphoniously hummed- ‘joy is here’ When all my yearnings got shattered And sustenance alone was what mattered The blazing sun from behind the hills Wiping away all morbid chills Affirmed beaming-‘joy is here When I thought I was drifting afloat Without any moorings on my boat A crystal drop precariously balancing On the serrated edge of a leaf dancing Confidently chimed-‘joy is here’ When darkness settles on the scene When life loses all tinge of green When days seem inert and grey Don’t be in a hurry to say      “Joy is nowhere around” Before you jump to conclusions dismal And write off life as abysmal Wait to see the cycle of seasons change From winter’s haze to spring’s lovesome range!

Inaudible Whispers
I change my shoes and attitude Some say I hate surprises Desiring things to stay the same Anxiety arises Change a job, a change in age Change your view or change your tone The Age of Aquarius turned the page To change your tune-you’re not alone Do I fight the change, ignite the change The change I fear, so hard so cruel You can win a war yet take the blame When Yin and Yang begin to duel Like loose change dropped in a jar Changing partners, changing clothes Change my house and buy that car Bless the highs but curse the lows Pain and Joy, so intertwined A change of heart, a change of flight Accepting wisdom, change my mind A shift to the left, the change feels right The change I see, or don’t see comin’ I move in a different direction Confidently whistling and hummin’   Too late upon closer inspection Change for the better or change can **** Lead in the water has been unfurled Change means growth-you cannot stand still Change your position and change the world

So many things feel right More joy than the stars that light the night. Feel the warmth of the future You have chosen, as it washes over you in waves. Stasis will never take hold of us, Every chain they know, we have every key. Walking confidently towards the future. I murdered the inventor, and smashed his time machine. Every decision is a catalyst for progress. You are never stuck, make fruit from the dust. Clothing from the air, and a bed from the stones. The eagle circles above, Let him be your symbol, As you rise into the sky like a Zephyr.
