O’ wondrous soul, thou speakest words divine,
Wherein the very essence of Love doth shine.
Methinks, within thee stirs a tender grace,
A truth unspoken, veiled in soft embrace.

For Love, like fire, doth scorch the heart and mind,
And through its flame, our spirits are entwined.
It rends the darkened veil of mortal night,
Revealing all, in pure and radiant light.

But lo, the heart, so fragile and so bare,
Doth quiver ‘neath the weight of heaven's stare.
In truth laid bare, before the eyes of Fate,
The soul doth dance, unbound by time or state.

O’ Love, thou art a force that none can flee,
Yet in thy fire, we find our liberty.
For in thy flame, the world doth fade away,
And all that remains is Love’s eternal sway.

O’ fairest love, thy power hath wrought a spell,
And in thy gaze, my soul doth deeply dwell.
I sit in silence, lost in thy sweet thought,
My spirit bound in thee, where’er it sought.

Surround’d by bliss, thy presence fills the air,
Mine eyes do see but thee, thou art most fair.
Thy form, a throne on which my heart doth rest,
Thy voice, the music that doth soothe my breast.

O’ beloved, thou hast made my soul thy slave,
My thoughts are thine, my heart doth crave and crave.
In thee, my soul finds both its peace and strife,
For thou art both the torment and the life.

Thy love doth flood my tongue with words most sweet,
And in my mind, thy image is complete.
I write thy name upon my trembling hand,
And seek thee still, through every distant land.

O’ beloved, thy love hath ta’en my breath,
And I, consumed by thee, doth taste of death.
Yet in thy fire, I find my soul’s delight,
For thou art both the day and also night.

My feet doth wander, in thy quest alone,
My hands, thy love’s sweet melodies have known.
I sit, and in thy presence ever sigh,
For in thy love, my soul shall never die.

Thou art the light that guides my weary heart,
The very flame that doth from me depart.
O’ beloved, in thee I am made whole,
For thou, sweet love, art all within my soul.

Thus, in thy love, I find my sacred way,
And in thy eyes, I live, though night be day.
For as the Creator doth in us abide,
So do we seek, in love, our souls to guide.

Teri Payal Agar Chhanak Jaye
Gardish-e-Asmaan Titthak Jaye

If your anklets, made a sound
Spinning of heavens, would pause

Tere Hansne Ki Kaifiyat Tauba
Jaise Bijli Chamak Chamak Jaye

Nature of your laughter, God forbid!
Like bolts and flashes, lightning draws

Teri Gardan Ka Tazkira Sun Kar
Jo Surahi Hai Woh Chhalak Jaye

Hearing, portrayal of your neck
Even a goglet, overflows

Le Agar Jhoom Kar Tu Angrai
Zindagi Daar Par Latak Jaye

Twirling, if you pandiculate
Existence, would hang by the ropes

Choor Hai Aise Paakpan Tera
Jaise Das Das Ke Saamp Thak Jaye

Broken to atoms is your innocence
Like once bitten fatigue a snake shows

Teri Ankhoon Ko Dekh Paiye Agar
Jo Farishta ** Woh Bahak Jaye*

If one wins to see your eyes
Even an angelic, deluded grows

Jab Raat Dhali Aadhi Maikhane Ko Hosh Aaya
Angrai Li Botal Ne Paimane Ko Hosh Aaya

When the night cast halfway, tavern came to its senses
The bottle took a yawn and the cup came to its senses

Utha Jo Naqaab Unka Deewane Ko Hosh Aaya
Jab Shamma Howi Roshan Parwane Ko Hosh Aaya

They appeared from their veil, crazy came to their senses
Then the flame became evident and the moth came to its senses

Phir Dard Utha Dil Mein Phir Yaad Teri Aayi
Phir Teri Mohabbat Ke Afsanay Ko Hosh Aaya

Then the pain grew within, your memories unfolded
And then your affectionate tale came to my senses

In Mast Nigahon Ne Girtay Ko Sambhala Hai
Sagar Ke Saharay Se Mastanay Ko Hosh Aaya

Intoxicating glances have balanced the tumbling
With the support of a cup, the drunk came to their senses

Woh Daikho Fana Daikho Jaam Aa Gaye Gardish Mein
Woh Mast Nazar Uthi Maikhane Ko Hosh Aaya*

Look there O’ Fana, see the cups are quickly rotating
Emergence of intoxicating glance; tavern has now come to its senses

O’ Love Divine, supreme and wild,
Thy spell has bound me, deep beguiled.
I sit, a prisoner to thy thought,
In rapture, lost—my soul is sought.

Thy bliss, a cloud that wraps the skies,
My sight doth see thee, all my eyes.
Thy voice is the music of my ear,
Thy touch, the pulse that draws me near.

O’ Love, intoxicate me whole,
Thy love the drink that fills my soul.
I seek thee, ever, in the air,
Thy presence found, both here and there.

My heart, thy throne—thine image reigns,
Thy beauty flows through all my veins.
My tongue, thy love it ever speaks,
In dreams of thee, my spirit seeks.

My hands, they write the sacred rhyme,
Thy love is carved in every line.
My feet, in search of thee they go,
Thy path a flame in every flow.

O’ Love Divine, thy call, I hear,
In every breath, thou art so near.
Thy essence, rooted deep in me,
A yearning soul, thy light I see.

For in thee, I am made whole,
And in thy love, I find my soul.
O’ Love Divine, supreme and pure,
Thy bliss, forever, shall endure.

A rose, with petals kissed by dawn,
Whispered to its twin, in quiet song:

"Your fragrance weaves through every breeze,
A balm to my heart, a sweet release.

Come, stand beside me, in silence pure,
Where ecstasy blooms, steadfast and sure.

Let your presence soothe the glory I wear,
And together, we'll grace the sunlit air."

In that moment, both roses swayed,
As passions in their stillness played—
An elegance unspoken, yet so profound,
Where love and beauty both are crowned.

''A few words of my soul to my heart''

O' Jamil what you seek is a sea of love and not tiny streams
Waves of which will carry you to mystic craved *dreams

You will need the light of Shams⒈, a heart of Rumi⒉ the great
And eyes of Iqbal⒊ to explore the love of divine that await

O' Jamil be prepared to sink deep below in waters of love
There is no reverting back thereafter to the world above

You will fade away as small particles in this sacred sea
Only then you will be intoxicated with essence of thee

Notes:-

⒈ Shams, Shams-e-Tabrizi or Shams Al-Din Mohammad was a Iranian Sufi, mystic born in the city of Tabriz in Iranian Azerbaijan.

⒉ Jalal Ad-Din Muḥammad Balkhi also known as Jalal Ad-Din Muḥammad Rumi and popularly known as Mowlana but known to the English-speaking world simply as Rumi, he was a 13th-century Persian poet, jurist, theologian, and Sufi mystic.

⒊ Sir Muhammad Iqbal was a Persian and Urdu poet of Pakistan, philosopher and a politician who had great visions for humanity.

O' beloved your love has intoxicated me

I sit here lost in your beautiful thoughts
And my soul is in your search everywhere

I am surrounded by your ecstatic bliss
And my eyes can only see you everywhere

My heart sights you on its throne
And my ears can only hear you everywhere

O' beloved your love has intoxicated me

I sit here lost in your beautiful thoughts
And my soul is in your search everywhere

And my mind only imagines you everywhere

My hands write your love poems
And my legs are in your quest everywhere

O' beloved your love has intoxicated me*

I sit here lost in your beautiful thoughts

This poem contains the following two contexts:-

✽  First is from a very famous saying that when the Creator loves a person, he becomes his ears with which he hears, his eyes with which he sees, his hands with which he strikes and his feet with which he walks.

✽  Second is that every human soul yearns for a union with its origin. Since both men and women have some Divine attributes that are missing in each other, they are attracted to each other by what they see as the other half of the Divine Existence.

Convey my message in your humblest words
Say, your lover’s eyes are singing alike
The morning birds

O’ my sacred pen, O’ my blessed scrawl
Pronounce what you feel but hide the truth
Say, your lover lay despaired at
His marvellous youth

O’ couplet of my feelings, O’ tongue of my call
Assert what you deem but conceal the reality
Say, your lover lay tarnished and
Is beyond normality

O’ echo of my state, O’ voice of my world
Declare what you believe but reveal your sincerity
Say, your lover is dying in sweet pain and I am
Here to endorse its authenticity

Hamari Sanson Mein Aaj Tak
Woh Heena Ki Khushbhoo Mehak Rahi Hai
Labon Pe Naghme Machal Rahe Hain
Nazar Se Masti Jhalak Rahi Hai*

O’ even today within my breathes
That sweet smell of henna is still lingering
Upon the lips songs are way-warding
And with mischief, the glances are twinkling

Woh Mere Nazdeek Aate Aate
Haya Se Ek Din Simat Gaye Thay
Mere Khayalon Mein Aaj Tak
Woh Badan Ki Daali Latak Rahi Hai

O’ inching towards me,
One day he shyly gathered himself
Till today, within my thoughts
His body's youthfulness is still swaying

Sada Jo Dil Se Nikal Rahi Hai
Woh Sher-o-Naghmon Mein Dhal Rahi Hai
Ke Dil Ke Aangan Mein Jaise
Koi Ghazal Ki Dhaandhar Khanak Rahi Hai

O’ this cry coming from within my heart
Finds its way into verses and songs
As if in the courtyard of my heart
Beat of a poem is throbbing

Tadap Mere Bekharar Dil Ki
Kabhi To Unpay Asar Kare Gi
Kabhi To Woh Bhi Jaleinge Isme
Jo Aag Dil Mein Dahek Rahi Hai

O’ my restless heart's tremor
Will surely affect him one day
Someday, he too will burn
In the fire of my heart which is raging

Hum Andhere Ko Ghar Mein Bulaakar
Unke Ghar Mein Ujaala Kareinge

Here, my life will be on fire
And there celebrations will begin at yours
I willingly invite the darkness to my abode
So that brightness may exist at yours

Baat Tarq-e talluq Bhi 'Anwar'
Itna Ehsaa- e-Rasm-e-Wafa Hai
Aakhiri Saans Tak Bhi Hum Unse
Berukhi Ka Na Shikwa Kareinge*

Even after renouncing our relationship O’ Anwar
I am to maintain the ritual of faithfulness
Even unto the last breath
Never will I complain of aloofness

Heart, O’ heart*
You have made my soul restless and thirsty
Although I adore the sweet pain
And love her generosity

For me
This world of being has turned into bliss
Surely her beautiful and gentle
Words are what I miss

Those
Charming eyes have taken me by my soul
Those gorgeous looks have made
Me out of control

O’ heart
Let her fragrance of love last forever
Let me march towards this
Wonderful endeavour

Maybe
All these are my imaginary affections
They taste like precious honey
From the heavens

O’ heart
Let her sweetness of love remain inside me
This suffering is unique so it
Shall never depart me

Like a hidden
Disease inside lasting without an end
May this continue until my soul
Is finally to ascend

Her last moments
Have set my heartily feelings on fire
Afflictions remain inside me as this
Is the punishment I desire

One fine morning, I said to the sun

O’ Sun
What is the secrecy of your light?
Certainly the world is nothing without your sight?

What keeps you aflame so vigorously day and night?
You are fed nothing thus what makes you so bright?

__

The Sun replied*

O’ Jamil
Your eyes cannot endure me fully
And yet you question the veil of my mystery

I keep my glow with love of One light
Devotion of which keeps me so bright

O’ Jamil
Create a gleam within your heart
Set yourself ablaze in love of this One light

What a spark, what a flame, when these eyes first saw,
The dance of light, the world without flaw?
When these hands, born of clay and dust,
Poured forth warmth, a gift, a divine trust?

When the tongue, a prisoner of silence so deep,
Broke free with a word, a promise to keep?
What sweetness filled these humble ears,
When the first sound stirred the heart’s silent fears?

When this tiny heart, so full of desire,
Met belief like a spark to an unlit fire?
When the lips of this child, kissed by the dawn,
Smiled at the world, and all sorrow was gone?

When the body, this vessel of earthly woe,
Was styled by love’s hand, a graceful glow?
What a moment, what a scene, O’ Jamil, I ask,
Could such be the work of a gene—or love’s mask?

A malady — or perhaps a curse —
That swells within — a quiet verse,
Her eyes, aglow — with secret fire,
As if the world had spun entire
Around that spark — a fleeting grace,
A trace of Heaven — on her face.

The glow, not born of earthly light,
But something deep — a quiet fight
Between the realms of flesh and air,
Where mortals falter, yet she dares
To lift the veil — and there, behold —
A sacred tale, both fierce and old.

It shimmers like a whispered prayer,
A song that's sung — but never there.
A verse, a rhythm, soft and true,
But none can read the words that grew
From that deep well, where time does slip,
And souls are bound in ancient script.

A curse, or blessing — who can say?
Her gaze, the dawn, the dying day,
An endless riddle wrapped in light —
A burden and a dazzling sight.
To touch it would consume the soul,
Yet in its grasp, we are made whole.

O' Thou
If you unveil yourself before thee
What a merciful moment
It would be

Oceans would
Flow in your intoxication
And every heart would pour
Like a sea

Thy ecstatic gaze
O' how mystic it would be
O' Thou if you unveil yourself
Before thee

O’ Beloved, in the quiet of destiny's hand,
Your heart shall soften, like earth to the land,
The frost of years, the burdens of time,
Shall melt away in love's sublime climb.

Your eyes, once veiled in the mist of night,
Shall turn toward me, guided by inner light,
A gaze that pierces the veils of fear,
Where the Eternal speaks, both far and near.

Your tongue, once silent in the realm of pride,
Shall utter truths no tongue can hide,
Each word a spark, a flame of fire,
That ignites the soul, ascending higher.

And your arms, bound once in sorrow’s chain,
Shall open wide, releasing pain.
In that embrace, the world shall cease,
And we shall find in each other’s peace.

O’ Beloved, in that union true,
We shall dissolve, and be made new.
No longer I, no longer you,
But the One in both, in love’s pure view.

In that moment, we are free,
Beyond the self, beyond the “me.”
For in that love, all forms collapse,
And only the Divine remains, unwrapped.
