A name
Replaced by dashes
Who were they?
And where did they go?
Lostling Apr 28
Some days I find myself reading through past messages, trying to remember how I felt back then.
A part of me thinks that maybe, just maybe, if I’d reached out for help instead of gently closing every door, I wouldn’t be like this;
Chewing on paper clips for the taste of blood on my tongue instead of my fingers so my parents would stop complaining about the bite marks on my hands.
I think I’m just glad they never look beyond the jackets I wear 24/7 or the number of cat scratches I got recently or the ghost that paces around our house on sleepless nights.

...

.  .  .
Sighhhhhhhhh....
Lostling Sep 4
Faces I knew
Voices I heard
Cadence familiar
They were my world

Terrain has changed
Plants overgrown
Are we still friends?
I no longer know
Went back to my old school to visit classmates and teachers for teachers day
Lostling Sep 20
If I wrote a song about me
The intro would be a happy melody.
I’d miss a couple chords
Hum some notes a little too sharp
But it’s okay

The first verse would be laughter
Dancing through the sun’s rays
White keys beneath my fingers
Playing the major

The second verse would fog over
minor notes bleeding through
each wrong sound a confession
I prayed no one would hear

The chorus would unravel
Restless chords, circling, choking
A violin played with shards of glass

The third verse would be filled with screaming
Raw and jagged
Into the void where I hoped to disappear
The fourth would fade into silence
And the fifth would hollow to a ghost

Then the devil's interval would loop, waiting for the next line
With each passing day I feel less and less present (Down Day)
Age
Lostling Apr 19
Age
When did age start feeling like a countdown to death?
Just a thought
Lostling Feb 1
As I grow older
There were more big problems
Overshadowing the small ones
And so I stopped tending to those small things

Like brushing teeth
Or going for walks
Or bathing
Or eating
Or sleeping

Huh… I think I might be dying
Under great stress, people sometimes forget to take care of themselves. So if you’re one of these people, take a short break and drink water or go for a walk around your neighbourhood. These might seem small, but they’re still important.
Lostling Jul 21
Some days you’re tired
And the silence no longer welcomes you
But burrows into your soul, sealing it in a straight jacket
Sometimes the world is too bright
And the darkness no longer brings comfort.
Yet darkness is the only way you can bear
To live in your skin.
Some nights music sounds like mourning
And quiet sobs, screams.
And it hurts.
It hurts so much
Down Day
I just want peace but I can’t have it

My smiles and hugs
My fears and funs
My joys and jumps
I mix

Into my *** of caramel, the warm sugar fills the air
I'd serve it all to you, my friend

But then I remember: you're sick of jt
To sweet for you, you said

The *** of caramel sits
On the stove
Cooling

Tonight
I'll eat it all alone
Or maybe it'll go into the bin again
Words that no one wants to hear, died on the tongue, held back by fear
Lostling Feb 1
If I speak my mind
Behind a blank mask,
I do not own the thought
I do not speak my mind
Lostling Mar 16
I remember
The days
I grew up
Beaming,
Laughter threading through the halls
Like echoes that knew my name.

And when I left
My only regret
Was never hearing them sing
The ode to me.

Still,
I knew
I mattered to them.
Their words I'll keep
In the folds of my heart
Or tucked away in lines of code

But this year
They're silent.
And I stand outside,
Face to the sky,
I pray for rain to fall
So I will not weep alone.
Taking care to remember everyone
Only to be forgotten in the end

God I was so happy last year...

If I betray my freedom
I betray myself,
Becoming a stranger in my own skin
Quietly echoing the voice of the crowd.
But if I betray the rules,
Break free and stray from the paved path,
I betray my comrades
I betray the people I lead
If I break free, I stand alone in exile
But if I conform, “I” do not exist anymore

Birds fly
So do I--
Lifted by your hands.
Paper *****,
Wrestled falls,
Laughter with no end.

Scars earned,
Lessons learned,
Gearing me for life.
Always here,
Support clear,
Pillar of my life.
He gives so much it feels like I'll never be able to repay him. One day when I get a stable job, I wanna get him a motorbike =))

Happy fathers day!
(Yes I am a say late T.T)
Lostling May 10
Your guiding hands are always there
To catch me when I fall.
Soft combs through my tangled hair
Hugs, a protective wall.

Your strength's a roaring lioness,
Your heart burning so bright,
Fighting through the crushing stress.
You burn away the night
Happy Mother's Day!

Breakfast passes
Recess passes
Lunch passes too

It’s been twenty-something hours since I’ve eaten any food

I probably should.

But I’m not hungry and I don’t care.
Lostling Jan 31
Lost and lonely I drift

Wandering through hazy days

Looking for the chubby little fingers

That used to tug me around with laughter
Short poem. I was sad.
Lostling Feb 20
Quiet nights alone
Pen scratching against paper
Finally, day's end
Lostling Apr 21
Water listens, acknowledging the pain
It washes and cleans the wounds lightly,
Soothes and calms,
Like a burbling brook to sit next to.

But blood…

Blood is thick and heavy.
It leaves a taste of copper in my mouth
Even after my head resurfaces and I can breathe again.
It stains and flows from cuts, tearing my stitches
As much as I love my parents, I’d rather go to my friends so I won’t get lectured and/or  scolded

Can't eat
Can't sleep
Can't stop crying
Can't breathe
Can't live
Can't do dying
Can't write
Can't read
Can't scream aloud
Can't choose
Can't break
Can't shut down
Can't fly
Can't fall
Can't let them know
Can't speak
Can't stay
But still can't go
I don't -ing know what to do anymore
Lostling Mar 5
I miss the friends who
Would ask if I was okay
So I could say no
Lostling Apr 20
There is a child
Who follows everywhere I go.
Late at night I hear him crying,
Yet my family stirs not.

When he cries,
I’m bound in a straightjacket,
stitched with silence
and the things I don’t know how to say.

I tell him to stop,
But he never listens.
So I muffle his sobs with a pillow
And hide him beneath my blanket

Sometimes he comes out during the day
Wailing for all the world to hear.
I tape his mouth shut
And wait until his tears won't be seen
Crying too much these days
Lostling Feb 3
With twin oranges
Welcome blessings for new year
Relatives around
Happy Chinese New Year!

I always hated them--
how they left me behind the curtains,
worthless, unseen, forgotten

So when you told me
I was part of one,
shame flooded the courners of my soul

And yet, so did joy;
spreading like a warm fire.
Finally, a place where I belonged.
The thing that brings my joy is the thing that erases people, the same way I was erased. Far. Too. Many. Times.
Lostling Feb 25
Blades clash, shattering
Unspoken words, a sword falls
Silence, then weeping
Friends from different sides spar together for the very last time
Lostling May 22
I heard her today, you know—
A ghost of my past

And for a moment I forgot.
I forgot what life was like without her voice;

Clear, high, wavering yet confident,
Beauty slowly reclaiming attention from the inky flaws.

She wore a smile that wasn’t made of porcelain
But still fake, cause it wasn’t really real

For she had long faded, like cotton candy slowly melting in humid air,
Along with the wisps of my childhood.

But for the first time since the fall
The little boy began to dream of skies again
:)
Lostling Feb 20
I saw a familiar face in a crowd
Like dye in clear water
Disappear before I could reach it
What used to be a daily sight
Snuffed out like a candles light
Only smoke remains
Lostling Apr 16
If you doubt yourself
You start to doubt others
And if you doubt others
You’ll start to doubt everyone
Til there’s no one you can trust
Lostling Apr 1
Ideas
Pile up

Thoughts—unfinished
Left unsaid

Fear.
Doubt.
Uncertainty.
So much uncertainty
Lostling Apr 21
There’s an incomplete poem
Sitting in my drafts
Titled “Maybe It’s not So Bad”
Last edited: 7 April.

I don’t think I’ll be finishing it any time soon
Or maybe never
Lostling Jun 26
When I sleep,
I no longer dream.
If I do dream,
It fades with the rising sun.
Unless it's one
Where you lay in my arms
Sleeping, because I was too late.

Who could forget such a dream?
I had another nightmare last night. I wish they'd stop.

My head’s
Six feet
Underwater

I’m trying
Hard
Not to drown

Bubbles
Trailing
From my lips

You’re
The air
Keeping me alive
I love my friends so much
3 more days to the 28th
Lostling Mar 5
Today I am…
A wisp of hazy cloud, drifting aimlessly.
A sponge, wrung dry. Only ***** suds remain.
A drop of water, endlessly falling—drip… drip… drip…
The colour grey. A dull shade. Just… there.
A fallen cup, its drink long evaporated.
A rock, lying on the riverbed, unmoving, watching life swim by.
Down Day

They stepped (I let them)
Through the curtains where I hid
Raw shards of my soul
My friends in school found this website, this account, and read my poems. I did not stop them. It feels weird.

(I’m scared)
Lostling May 13
I’ve faded into the background.

But it was done so slowly, like salt dissolving in water,
That don’t notice my silent ghost.

I wonder if they think about the sunny person I used to be.

The weird rowdy kid

The one who eagerly answered questions in class,
So much so that the teacher had to ban them from answering

The confident one who could lead
Without self doubt drowning them

Sometimes I wonder
If they think of me at all
I suppose I only have myself to blame
Lostling Aug 20
I can't solve anything

Not my life, or theirs
I can't bring back the missing

Can't hold them as they cry
Can't do anything right
Can't say the right things

Even if you say I do
Cause I know
I know you'll never look at me
The way you look at him

I'm
Just
Backup
The second best
Option
It's not their fault

(Not very poetic sorry)

Funny how quickly
A life can be-
Cut short.

So brittle
That a single word (or seven)
Could pour salt on my opened palms
And break
My short sense of happiness
Another late night write.
I wanted to get angry. I still do. But I got a poem that I'm happy with (the other one)
Lostling Jan 31
The first “hello,” a waving hand
We’re only seats apart
“How do you do? Wanna be friends?”
That’s how it used to start
Expired words, still on my tongue
The words I wish to hear
Now changed from days when I was young
To whispers in my ear,
“All this is fake, so shallow too.”
“You sure you’re really friends?”
“I bet they just put up with you,
Cause you help meet the ends.”
The questions dragged up from my mind
I’ll tell the moon at night
And search alone, hope I can find
The answers to my plight
Tomorrow when the dark retreats
I know I’ll call you friend
I hope you’ll do the same for me
Even if you just pretend
Lostling Feb 10
The day I watched the fire die
Only once did my tears fall
But I knew that once the moon was neigh
I would answer sorrow’s call
Despite the embers that remain;
Pathetic wisps go hope
I know it’ll never be the same
As I clutch this rotting rope
I think the walls are closing in
But maybe it’s just me
The emptiness hurts from within
So suffocatingly
I guess this is the place where we
Have no choice but to part
In the future I hope I’ll see
Us in each other’s hearts
Till the next time we can meet, friend,
I’ll save a seat for you
Though many faces are fleeting
You’ll stay one of the few
This was literature homework =P

(Emptiness this loss does bring,
And so the pain I shall now sing)

Flip a coin
Was it heads or tails?
I bet it didn't land on its edge.
Too much, too little. Never just right.

Don’t look
Please

There’s a reason I’m hiding
A reason for the mask
A reason for the sleeves

Inside is a mess
Of tangled lies and brittle truths
That I’ve stopped trying to understand

And somewhere in there
There’s a child; a puppet
Who just wants to solve the world’s pain

But can’t

So the child hides behind the personas created
Behind stories woven in fiction
Behind poems bled upon
Behind a name
that doesn’t
exist
Stop looking
There’s nothing more to see

I am not the black sheep, so why don’t I belong?
My wool stands out amongst the heard, a speck of dirt on a
pristine
marble
dress.
I am not flicked away, but forced into another’s coat
To match the sea of white.
I am a stranger in my own body,
A mess of shredded wool and yearning
Yearning for my home
“Return to home!” My soul does cry, I want to listen so. But my heart has sheep that it holds dear, refusing to let go.
Lostling Aug 14
I'm

Falling apart and rotting away
Insecure, lost, with nowhere to stay
Nothing worth loving, an echo to ****
Endlessly crying on my window sill
Just tired today
Lostling Jul 12
Sometimes I wonder
If it’s all just in my head
And I should just stop
I have a good life
So why the hell do I still feel so broken??
Lostling Apr 9
“Now you won’t be distracted.”
You took me away from my friend
“It’s for your own good.”
He was the only one keeping me sane
“You don’t talk in the middle of class anymore!”
You triggered my depressive days
“It’s only temporary.”
To think I actually believed you
“Are you okay?”
The audacity!

“Yeah, just tired.”
Overreacting to seat change =/

Tight skin throbbing
Under sleeves long

Prickling hums
Growing red and warm

Sweat trickles
Lines start to ache

Nails making sure
They never fade
I just keep picking at them
Lostling May 6
I try
And try
And try
And try
And try
And try
And try
And try
And try
And try
And try
And try
But still
I'm not
Enough
Sometimes I catch a glimpse of the person in the mirror and wonder what anyone sees in them
Lostling Feb 1
I sit at my chair
For hours on end
Staring at the blank paper

The story is at the tips of my fingers
The characters chatter in my mind, ready to take the stage
But to my horror

My words are gone and only the silence remains
I’ve been silent for so long I’ve forgotten how to speak
Lostling Apr 22
It's not that I want you gone
I appreciate you
I really do
But it's hard to believe you're sincere
When you're also scrolling through shorts at the same time
Got yelled at by seniors awhile ago. I couldn't keep myself together and ended up breaking down (again)
A friend comforted me, hugged me, told me it wasnt my fault. But she was on her phone the whole time.
Lostling Mar 4
As a child
I hid under my covers,
Fearing the monsters of the night
Lurking beneath my bed.

But now they live in my mind,
Crawling through the cracks,
Festering— even in the sun’s warmth.

No blanket can shield me.
No lamp, no lullaby.

I close my eyes
But still, they linger.
The worst monsters
Aren’t under our beds
But inside us
Lostling Feb 2
I sit on a hill
Grass poking into my palm
The night air woven in ice
The sky is filled with glittering stars
Nestled within the frozen void
Like little jewels in black velvet

Such beautiful corpses
The light of stars will still be visible from earth for a long time even after they die.
