Why people matter to you anyway?

They call her
a real gem,
a jewel in the crown
and
the talk of the town...

Not all the gemstones
are rare...

If love becomes the ocean
then you'd be the shore
and like a tide
I would wash upon you
every now and then,
and leave you
crave for more...

You've clipped my wings
but expects
me to fly away...

No matter
how well
we confine
our hearts
in a fortress,
surround it
with formidable walls,
and have no remorse
- The Love will breach all
like a Trojan Horse...

Sometimes it's best
to retreat
in the silence
and take refuge
in your own self
No one could
ever feel your pain
In the same way
as you do
my dear
do you know?
a few words of comfort
and solace
spoken softly
can surely heal our wounds
swiftly...

Some birds
when locked in a cage
for a ****'s age
forget flying
and when they are
set free

even with
the perfect wings
they can't flee...

so my dear
If you are
in a cage
don't shed
your precious tears
it's futile
every hue and cry
will surely fall
on deaf ears

Instead  
just close your eyes
and let yourself
fly high - up in the skies

so when the time come

the perfect wings,
guts،
grit,
nerves
and everything...

and Keep daydreaming...

I woke up to a nightmare
and the next thing I knew
the world started spinning
so I closed my eyes
and hoped
to see it gone
but It didn't
I couldn't moved   an inch;
It's like my mind
tried to tame  
the chaos in me
which in turn
becomes
the violent whirling
and now my world is
upside down...

Your love
has dried up the ocean
in my eyes,
so when the pain
seeps in,
I pour the wine
of your thoughts
in my pen
and let the words
(I write to you)
get high
and cry...

This pandemic
is taking a toll
On our lives
But,
On the bright side
It has also exposed
Many Faces
Wearing "Masks"...

It's another wintry night
and a moment ago,
I was dreaming
catching snowflakes
with you...
The dream is over now,
There are no more
cabins
and pine trees - of the North
but the Night,
is still cold
and somehow
I am still
feeling your warmth...

And then you came
After I have counted
All the stars...

It was cold lousy and stormy day,
and there i was
watching my hopes and dreams
slip away...
so I looked up the sky
to keep my anguish  and suffering at bay
watching the moonlight - swiftly glides
and there I was
with my deep thoughts  - making strides
letting myself soaked in the rain
letting all the tiny raindrops
wash over me
and making me whole Again!

When the fire catches your house
and there's no way to douse
They say
- get your precious belongings
out of it
Lest they turn to rubble
and cause you the trouble...
And One day
My heart caught fire
So I went inside
to collect the pieces
of our memories
and then
Watched the whole heart
burst into flames..

You Claim
You know me - inside out
then why can't you  
hear what i say
When i say Nothing?

Try telling your secrets
to Walls
and you will hear them
Whispering...

Don't you know?
I 'd carved your name
in my heart
and locked it
inside a box
of devotion

the keys
were thrown away
in the river
of love..

There's no going back  - for me

All the boats
of doubts
have been burnt
before you could
be taken away...

All the bridges
of mistrust
have collapsed
So we could not

All the egoes and prides

There's nothing

whether you are sad or overjoyed

that fills the void

Strolling down memory lane
I found the flame of love and hope
Along with it, there’s some pain
Thinking now – How do I escape?
It’s high, steep and rugged terrain
If only hopes could build a stairway
Maybe , just maybe we could meet again!

In the battlefield of love
Reason is always the first to fall

scaling The Everest
the higher you go,
the more difficult
it becomes
to breathe...

to acclmatize
and catch my breath

Sometimes
Our biggest fear
Is the fear of unknown
It's when we seek
Shelter
In our own self
and slowly crawl away
from reality
It's when we don't
recognize
the blessings we have
and let our soul
crave for more,
It's when we start
running
Chasing the facade
Knowing it well
- How it's going to end
It's when the instincts
take over
Our other senses,
rendering us
Helpless
- In the face
Of overwhelmingly odds...
I always wonder
Why can't we
Face this fear
Head-on?
What happens will happen anyway...

The Fall is upon us
My Dear!
It's when the birds leave
for their new home...
So you may flee
as well
and I will watch you leaving
happily
like a stubborn tree.

The World has stopped
My Dear!
But don't let this pause
take over our lives
We can't let our hearts
be struck into fear...
We can make this home
our own sphere...
Everything we need
will be right here
as if it's our own little world
Let's just sit by the window
as the sky is clear
and watch the sunset
all this year!

I tried throwing pebbles
In the lake
hoping
the ripples would reach your shore...

I tried sitting
for hours
where we first met
and didn't catch your glimpse

I tried drowning
in your thoughts
and was bounced back
by the tides of the time..

of all the things
that i tried
when you're gone  - finding you
in my heart
has always worked...

We all have
doubts and fears
engraved deeply - in our subconscious
and In love
we still trust ourselves
more
when we choose to walk
into the unknown...

Should we give people
a second chance?
She asked,
It depends
"Whether we want to be stung
out of the same hole - twice" - I replied

When the chips are down
No one would bet on you
- but yourself

I know the games
you' ve been playing
I know the tricks,
so they won't work on me
I know the traps,
so i won't fall for them..
and I won't take your baits ...
so my dear!
you can keep playing
your games
and i will keep up with it
but know that
in this ruse
there won't be any winner
or loser
No one will ever
get a dime...
but our love - for sure
will succumed to the wounds
of time...

We wear smile
for the world
to hide the scars
In our heart,
Not knowing
that when the lips are sealed
The heart speaks through eyes...

And just like the moon
We all have the dark side
concealed
withing ourselves,
rugged
from scars of time,
craters of hopes and dreams
that can't be known- at all
and
just like the tidal force
it has slowed us
to the point
where we always put on
the bright side...

The moment
you walk away
from the people
who imperils
your self-esteem,
is the moment
you gain the power
to Change
Everything...

I had a Fear
Of Loosing you
and so I am
Letting you go...

As we grow old
The beauty we have
fades away,
our strength and memories
never stay the same,
No matter how deep  
our pockets are
- the casket can't be filled
with our wealth
all the ties are cut
the moment we are
laid to rest
so tell me my dear
why should we
take pride in things
that don't last forever?

The moon borrows the light
from the sun
and so is the light in my eyes
reflects your love...

I wished upon the falling star
for a moment It was something
and then
just like a star
There was nothing at all...

Not every action
worth a reaction
Learn to let go
and your heart will be
at peace

All it takes
a one step
into the right path
and it will make it up
for the thousand steps
into the astray...

We humans
are the most ungrateful species
We don't learn to appreciate things
Until they are
Taken away...

I like to write poems
and she asked Why?

Writing gives me wings
and I love to fly...

When the shadow
sets itself free
from its very existence
something surely changes
and the moment shivers - in darkness

The cellphone beeps
throughout the day
hundred times,
and every single time
I know the buzz
when It's from You
- It makes my heart
skips
a beat or two...
