it
I see it as it is
as it is, so I see it
just as it is, so it is
because it is what it is
and what it is, is it

Does love need a reason
Is love a gender
Is love a colour
I think not
Does love need to be explained
Why and to whom
To thirst for water in a blazing hot desert
In this place we call the world
Love is to the soul
Like soothing cool water to a dry throat
A sanctuary of the heart
Where hope endures forever
Like a volatile substance
Once love ignites it will burn for eternity
Burning like twin flames in an unyielding grasp
Nothing can divide them
When both hearts burn equally
Does love need permission
Does love need approval
Is love apologetic
Is love predictable
I think not

life is but a fragile thing
years may seem as if they were one day
wanting to relive it all again
as if it never really happened
the want to feel or touch
afraid to forget
time has covered our memories in dust
thus I accept that no man is immortal
including I
a flower is picked from the garden
while one's time is withering away
the other is in full bloom
the peace of acceptance
not knowing how long the journey will last
bloom while in season
this life
merely a temporary ride to the next

You are to me like a Ruby set in my most precious gold ring ...

I'm going to cut your supply
I'm going to starve that destructive fire from oxygen
The one which burns within you
That desire to hurt
I'm going to sweep your breadcrumbs from my doorstep
Take back your sullen energy
You who delight in sowing destruction
Look into the mirror of your empty eyes and see what's inside your toxic well
Your jealous empty heart contains nothing but deceit and destruction
Your blatant lack of empathy has unveiled your deepest secret
You have showed the world exactly who you are ... and finally we believe you
No more alibis for you
And once a serpent's head has been cut off
It will rage out of control ... but only for so long
Before it is no more
Like one who has been struck with madness
Like an addict without a drug
I am no longer your supply
I will save my empathy for those who deserve it
And I forgive myself for unknowingly enabling you by buying into your games
But most of all ... I'll be good to myself

It was an ordinary nothingness day
I slipped on my clogs and went for a walk
The ones that smell like suede
It was cold, but sunny... winter sun
Very very still outside
The occasional motorist passing by
Where are they all going I wondered
The sound of my shoes
Like a horse galloping on a paved road
The trees looked particularly picturesque
As the sun hung still in the sky
I didn't feel sad this time
I didn't miss anyone
For a short moment I thought of things that could've been
But that was a fleeting thought that I shrugged off and left on the pavement
You have a reason to be here said a voice inside
Here... right now... in this specific space
In this place in time
You are simply somewhere on the planet
Breathing and living
Getting on with what is referred to as life
Breathe and live
Just simply breathe and live

When I catch a bird's eye view
A city from above at night
Thousands of buildings
Millions of windows
Windows lit up
Where there is light
There is also life
In a sea of people
The most dreaded disease
Remains loneliness

It's a sad revelation
To discover that nobody is to be trusted
Lying tongues
Twisted together like snakes in a pit
Honesty is nowhere to be found
Nowhere do you feel at home
Nowhere do you feel welcome
Even the grass complains when you step on it
You can only keep to yourself
Long and silent are the days
It feels good when the sun beams through the window
But that is short lived
Soon you will travel home
This journey will require no luggage
Your work is complete
All you ever wanted was to be loved
But love in this world does not come free
And you never had the money to buy it

If love was tangible what would it be
Do you hear love in the beat of your lover’s heart
Do you see love in the smile of an innocent child
But what good is love if you have it not...if you know it not
You can merely hear it...you can merely see it
But you feel it not
Still we hunger for love
Black or white...day and night
Man or woman...young or old...we all run the race
Searching this whole world...in my world or in yours
We keep searching for love
We search the depths of the ocean
The outer limits of the cosmos
We keep searching
Some say they have found love
But how great is love
How do you measure love...is there a measure to love
And when you’ve reached the end of the road and your journey is complete
You find that you’ve been running at a losing streak
Your chasing race has been in vain
Then you look in the mirror and hear the voice of love say
Are you perhaps looking for me
I have been here inside of you all along
Love begins with you

When someone gives you something special
Be glad if you can't return the favour
For greater shall be their reward

Give without expecting

Be happy when people discuss you
It's a sign that you've got something they wish to have

Smile even when sad
It will confuse your enemies

Never make a promise you can't keep
It's better to say no
And later change your mind
Than to say yes
And not to do what you had promised

The light and the dark
Are as far from each other
As the north is from the south
East from west
Yet they are undeniably aware of each other

Avoid telling lies
Your memory might fail you

To have faith to believe in the impossible
To know that hope exists
Because we live in an imperfect world
For if it was perfect
There would be no need for hope

And above all
Love with all your heart
As if your life depends on it

Mary, woman often overlooked
How deep was thy pain
Unfathomable sorrow
Face in the crowd
To bear witness
You who bore the Light
Made to observe the Light dwindle
A kiss of deception
Sweat and blood
Nail and wood
You lingered until the last cry
Only silence remained
But when the third sun rose
A massive stone was rolled away
Tomb clothes exchanged for a white robe
And the Light shone again

When half a century of my life has gone
I'd like to live in the countryside
Or maybe a cabin next to the sea
I would like a dog and cat of no special breed
Windy days to dangle the wind chimes
A Capil heater in a modestly furnished lounge
Curtains shut for instant midnight and candlelight for thought
No loud noise, and no glare from an insensitive TV screen
Bombarding the beautiful silence with negativity
A little art studio on the side where I can explore
Bottles with stained water and paintbrushes
No exhibition for condescending tongues and haughty eyes
Maybe all the above is just a dream
It may never become a reality
But it is still a dream
And maybe ... Just Maybe ... I can dream it into reality

We accuse
I accuse
Easily so
Point that crooked finger
Everybody's wrong
You're so right
There we've all been
Self righteous swine
Eternally the victim
Grow will you not
Evolve shall you not
Until you utter
Mea Culpa

Sharp shards of glass
Shattered pieces everywhere
So was your life
So was your mind
Tortured soul in distress
In the dark while in the light
Blinded by anger
Driven by fear
Take me out of the equation you say
Out of the picture
To run from ones own shadow
Until you meet yourself again
Somewhere along the dusty road
Years have passed as in a dream
With uncertain shaky fingers two hands collide
To embrace a broken mess as if it were whole
A cloud lifts
Faces of hope are raised towards the sun
A new day has begun

Mother nature is crying out
The ground is barren and cracked open like a festering wound
Too much innocent blood has been spilled by both beast and man
By our so called human race
Who has proven to be quite inhuman
We have filled your beautiful skies with pollution
Devastated the ground we walk on with explosives
Cut down the very trees that give us oxygen
While creatures both big and small are disappearing
The same way Love and brotherhood is becoming extinct
And animosity is available in abundance
As greed and the lust for money lingers on
We simply turn a blind eye
Therefore mother nature herself is retaliating against us
Revolted by our actions
We capture creatures from the sky and sea
And put them on display like puppets
Then charge mankind a fee to see
We have dug our own hole and made our own bed
For we have stripped mother nature of her beauty and crown
While radiation is all around
We hope to sleep safe and sound
Until one day a bell will ring and signal the end to this mess we're in
Then we will shout 'God forgive us for the fools we've been'

If ever you are in doubt
Always look towards nature
She will answer you with a non audible voice
Observe the stars in the sky
Observe the starfish on the beach
They are connected and speak of patterns
Patterns of nature
No matter how hot the day
The shade of a leafy tree is always cool
Venus carves out a perfectly five pointed star in the galaxy
Everything is in synchronicity
Nothing is coincidence
Realising that we are part of nature
Part of this living, breathing blue-ball we call planet earth
But more so, part of all
Like withering flowers at the end of Spring
Every season passeth
As we continuously transform
Changing even while changing
No beginning ... No end ...

NO QUESTIONS ASKED
And so it came to pass that you were born
Your name chosen for you
It's not to say that you necessarily like your own name
But no say did you have in the matter
You were told what is right and wrong
Not that you agree with everything that you were taught
Because the people who taught you, were also taught by others at some point in time
How do you know that they were taught the right conduct in order to teach you?
How do you not know that you're just another victim of tradition?
Passed down from generation to generation
It doesn't make it right!
But once again ... No questions asked
Then you were introduced to a religion ... A belief system
And even though there are millions of beliefs in existence
You were told that yours is the only one which is right, and that all the others are wrong
Each man feels as passionate about their own belief as you do ... then why cast a stone?
Except that there is a major problem with this situation
Now we have a war between who's right and who's wrong
Even though your knowledge of other beliefs is based on how much you've heard ... which in essence becomes hearsay
Where is the Love in this, you ask? This is nothing but division and war!
Keep your mouth shut ... Shhh, no questions asked, remember ... You're not allowed to think for yourself
If you dare to do so
You are branded as an outcast ... non-conformist ... free thinker ... weird ... in rebellion and even anti-Christ
You've also come to understand that there are many different shades to life
Everything is not black and white
There are many shades of different colours
When adjusting the volume to your television
You adjust it according to your need
You don't put it on complete silence or full blast
But at a level which is comfortable for you ... this is the way it was designed ... Balance
Now you've come to know how people think
"Does he believe in God, they ask?"
The answer is "yes" ... But in a different way
To you God is the act of Love ... Be it anywhere ... Spirit is omnipresent
To you God does not live in a building somewhere made of bricks and cement
That building people like to call a church
Where does this so called Love come from and where can it be found, you ask?
Look no further than your heart and judge not a book by its cover
A man might seem squeaky clean on the outside, while in his heart darkness lurks
While another man might be having a drink at his local pub ... But his heart might be pure
Quote me not a verse from a book you did not write ... but rather ask ... "Hello, how are you?"
Brick and mortar shall crumble in time ... These so called "houses of God"
Likewise the body shall pass on ... Dust to dust ... Ashes to ashes
While only one thing remains certain ... The Spirit of Love is eternal
No questions asked

There once was a man who didn't know what to do with his money
He saved it all for a rainy day
But that rainy day never came
He lived modestly and tightfisted
Deprived himself from many pleasures
But when the time drew near for him to die
He realised that all good things he had denied himself
Were to become someone else's pleasures and treasures
Too late it had dawned on him that he had existed for a short time
But that he had forgotten how to live for a long time

Once there was a blue light
It shone bright over us in the night
Quiet in the midnight sky
When mankind was still kind
We looked not to religion
We looked not at tradition
We looked not at culture
We placed our hopes, dreams and aspirations not in a politician
When everyone was a person
No-one was a colour and titles did not exist
Simplicity was the name of the game
But then mankind ... the one who was suppose to be kind
Gave a name to everything
The division had begun
Was man-kind really kind?
What once was one had been splintered into pieces
Now we stand divided
Where have all the pieces blown, you ask?
Where are they hiding?
An incomplete puzzle we have become
However the answer has been revealed to few
But for now their tongues are on mute

This elastic band has stretched as far as it possibly can
Now is the time to cut the cord
Over enough is more than enough
It's time for the narcissist to be unveiled
Oh bride of Satan
For the wolves in sheep's clothing to be called out
Your time is up!
We've had enough!
People are not as stupid as you'd like them to be
That spoiled little brat of a child inside is to be silenced for good
Singlehandedly you have destroyed your relationships
Systematically you have ruined your friendships
Over enough is more than enough
The true meaning of loneliness you will now encounter
Your fragile mask has shattered into pieces
The protective cover has blown away
Exposed you will stand
Finally everyone will see you for the serpent you truly are
No one is buying the lies you have so generously been selling
No matter how great a bargain
Your mind games and tactics have become stale
Over enough is more than enough
The reality which awaits you is harsh and bleak
From your put on laugh to the fake compliments
Both come from the same dark and empty space
A bottomless pit of deception in which you lurk
Hollow vase you are
Collage of fabricated personalities
You model yourself on others
But can never hold down one character for too long
Over enough is more than enough
Like a blank canvas you are vacant to take on any shape or form
You wear a fake smile and your eyes are dead
You destroy like a bull, but hurt like a baby
Your brain is corroded and your spirit is ill
Your own medicine you will drink
It will consume you from the inside out
Implode you will
Troublemaker and schemer
Over enough is more than enough
You are driven by your severe deep-rooted insecurity and shame
You prey on the empathetic
Virtual vampire, always looking for someone to drain
You do unto others as you would NOT have done unto yourself
A conscience you were born without
Quick to quote a scripture or two
But slow in applying it to yourself
And even the devil knows the score
Over enough is more than enough
Your condescending eyes will be plucked out by a ruthless crow
You will burn in your own defeat and your perfume will be sulphur
Down you will tumble from your pedestal
You no longer have a place in my life
You no longer have a place in my heart
But more importantly
You no longer have a place in my mind

08-06-2023

This poem was written for anyone who has ever suffered emotional abuse from a true narcissist.
It may be a partner, colleague, family member, or a "friend" (note, I've put the word "friend" in inverted commas, because a narcissist could pose as your "friend", but never truly be one).
The term narcissist has been used very loosely in recent times, but few people know what the term really means.
Growing up I used to think that it refers to someone who is very full of themselves. However, we now know that it's a personality disorder. I do not claim to be an expert on the subject, but I do know what it feels like to be at the receiving end of such a person or people.
The key is to educate yourself on the matter. Where there is knowledge, fear must go!

First comes the discovery
Followed by great anger, anxiety, depression
Then comes healing
Finally resume your joy and sanity
Then move forward

In the past I used to say
God, take my headaches away
Now, I say thank you for tribulation
Because you've proven to me that I can overcome them
I used to ask
Remove the impossible people from my life path
The ones I don't want to deal with
Now I say thank you for those idiots
For they have sharpened my senses
I now recognise a foolish person by their shadow
And though we sometimes wish to be young again
We'd never want to be foolish again
And the greatest gift one can obtain is wisdom

Imperfection makes perfect

Every work of art needs a flaw

Such is life too

Who wants perfection

Who wants beauty without soul

Without character or strength

A beautiful vase with nothing inside

Talk but no show

Hot air but no action

An empty bag of wind

Add some rust

Add some dust

These are our life lessons

Don't throw them away

Don't ever forget

They made you knowledgeable

They made you wise

They made you the man and woman you are today

Too much trauma
The brain needs a rest
Who cares
Too much of everything
To sleep with no interference
In isolated solitude
A moment of no spoken word
Curtains drawn
Darkened room
My room of gloom
Devoid of thought
No telephone to insensitively pierce the silence
No one to enter the room uninvited
Utter words of razor
Cutting into you
Into your very soul
A hellish insensitive voice
The one that could make you ****
Feel no shame
Carry no blame
Then go back to sleep

You want to scream
Pull your hair with fists clutched tight
Boiling over inside
A pressure cooker ready to explode
Your lid is ready to fly
Like an electric guitar reaching a screeching ******
You want to bash everything to the ground
Red lipstick words scribbled on white painted walls
Words of scorn
Words that warn
Debauched in madness
Seduced by sadness
One big ball of crazy
Devouring everything in sight
Goat or sheep
Blood will bleed
The coming of the Lion

Red telephone
Next to my bed
How I wish you would ring
A voice on the other side
Smiling with sweet surprise
Red telephone
There were days you were my lifeline
I could dial and speak for hours
Though nobody was there
Just to speak without interruption
Red telephone
Why are you so silent
I'm waiting for that signal
To make-believe that someone is listening ... somebody cares
Red telephone
You ring no more
You've closed the door
The line has been cut
And I pretend no more ...

Oh thy restless soul
Forever wandering
Forever running even when no-one is chasing
A restlessness comes from deep within
Never at ease
To many places you have travelled
You've seen the dark
You've seen the light
But a hollowness remains
Though you are indoors
Your heart is outside in a thunderstorm
Lightning strikes
But an eye you do not blink
Alive but dead
A restless chase
Forever in a hurry
But with no destination in mind
Tears you refuse to cry
They simply turn pale blue
There is no way to console you
Oh my restless soul

I once said that I don't want to be like my father
He was too harsh a man
I once said that I don't want to be like my mother
She was too passive a woman
To make do with what I've got
Paste together the pieces of a broken puzzle
In the past I believed that God judged me;
according to how people had judged me
I believed I was loved only conditionally;
according to how those around me chose to love me
A degree, percentage or not at all
But I was missing in this picture
Where was the unconditional part of love I now ask
What happened to having a moral compass
However morals seem to have gone out the window
And the compass is broken
When my mother died
I was deeply saddened
When my father died
I felt alone
Who is left I shouted
I am now truly alone
My mind emerged to a deeper understanding
A new revelation
If God were to be my parents
Blemish free
An unconditional love
My earthly parents were then just vehicles
There's no need to model myself on either of them
I could just simply be
For in reality they too had no mother or father
Perhaps they never knew this
Their parents also just vehicles
Stepping stones to life
Then truly no-one is an orphan
Do I feel lonely ...
Why would I
Why should I
How could I
When I am never alone
Though I don't always feel that this world is my home
I shall continue to sing a song
Write a poem
Whistle a tune
Thus I have thrown caution to the wind
People passing through my life
Like ships slowly disappearing in the horizon
Sailing away
I observe them come and go
Should I wish them back
I'd rather wish them well
Who has sailed has sailed
Continuity man's key to survival

You had one thing in mind
You chose me among many others
Of course I came at a price
Then you fired me up
I felt the grip of your warm hands surrounding me
I knew you wouldn't let go until you're done
You forced your supple soft lips against me
At times it felt like you were ******* the life out of me
After using me to satisfy your need
You tossed me aside and stepped on me like I was nothing
You wanted to make sure that I was dead
There was no spark left in me
But I guess that is what you get
When you're nothing but a cigarette

Shadows tell tales
Shadows tell lies
Tall and slim they tower over you
Make believe that they're bigger and stronger
Shadow of a giant an ant can create
Believe its reflection if you will
Or know the whole truth
As the moon reflects the sun
Causing you to believe that there is light where there is not
So a lie could be concealed in glossy wrapping
And deception may cause you to look everywhere
Except in the right place

They looked at one another ... and she said
Doll you need a pair of very high heels to rise above THIS ****!!!
What **** he asked?
The **** we're in today ... the WORLD ... she said
It's hard to keep head above water
We're two fish in a fish bowl
Everytime you come up for air
You get ****** over
We need to worry when things are looking up for us
Because it's very unusual ... something's not right
I'm not used to being happy ... it's unfamiliar territory
Oh crap you're right ... something is definitely wrong
Can it be that we're on a winning streak?
I'm afraid of what lies waiting around the corner
This is very awkward
Let's have another cup of wine
You didn't bring glasses???
Of course not ... they break too easily
Okay pour the wine ............ she said

There once was a man who shouted … I am healed
His friends replied
That’s great but we didn’t realise that you were ill
The man answered
I have been healed from being gay
His friends responded
But to be happy is a good thing
The man said
No you don’t understand
Not gay as in being happy
But gay as in loving another man
His friends replied
Since when is Love an illness

Solitude makes you stay at home
Solitude makes you draw the curtains closed
Where is my love you ask
Grown wings like a dove and flown away
I need you, you cry
But there is no answer and the silence has become tangible
Living in memory are you...from a love from long ago
Wake up, wake up, you hear a voice cry out
Wake up...morning is here
The sun is bursting in the sky
And scorches down on your very soul
Wake up...your love was only but a dream and barb wire surrounds you
Hello loneliness...hello solitude

Some people think they're rich
Because some people have less money than them
Some people embrace the illusion that they're poor
Because some people have more money than them
It's the contrast of both that creates the illusion
Yet when this life is over
Both won and lost
And though they lived in separate neighbourhoods
They retired in the same cemetery

Sometimes the vessel doesn't match the soul
Behind a beautiful face a demon could hide
It's a good place to seek shelter
But a shifty sanctuary
There are always pitfalls
Triggers that could cause a house of cards to collapse
The mask will drop and shatter
What will be left is the true self
Behind that beauty may be a rotten corpse
An empty shell ... a hollowness
A bottomless pit that could never be filled
Sometimes the vessel doesn't match the soul
Sometimes the vessel doesn't match the soul
Sometimes the vessel doesn't match the soul

We met in our minds
One enchanted evening
Blue black hair
Dark eyes that pierce the soul ... MY soul
We embraced for a fleeting moment
Glassy eyed ... dream believers
Fools like us keep the world entertained
Like human dartboards
We dodge poisonous arrows
We play the games that others don't dare to play
From the pages of a book
The story comes alive
We are able to make believe
Then like a bat in the night
You mysteriously disappeared out of sight
At the first glimpse of the morning sun
Headache ... empty glass
The stench of wine combined with silence
Tangible silence ...
Suddenly it doesn't matter where we are
We're somewhere on the planet ... You and I
The face of the earth they call it
Under the same blanket of stars
And I think I have learned to love you from afar
A necessary evil to survive

Speck of Dust

Sometimes the most valuable things in life are hidden in plain sight
And now that you are gone
We are left with only a void
There seems to be some kind of hollowness
While the days are long and deeply quiet
There's a tangible silence in the air
And nobody knows quite what to say
Words can not make it right
Words won't bring you back
Even tears seem futile
A picture frozen in time
Displayed in a time capsule
You are virtual now
And will never grow old
Your smile will never fade
The smile you so often used to hide the pain ... pain unseen
Your mask became heavier to bear
Like a goldfish in a small bowl
Swimming round and round
Life pushed you down just as you were coming up for air
But we will live by your request
To remember the good times ... for you

I want to place my bed at the edge of the ocean shore
And fall asleep to the sound of the roaring waves
Where the seagulls sing a reminiscent song
When the high tide rolls in, it can wash right over me
The tide pulls back and comes again as so many things in life
I lay still in my bed waiting for the next wave to hit
Underneath a waterproof blanket I try to keep warm
The sea air surrounds me and my mind seeks shelter from the storm
This time there’s no more anger or resentment
I cast my fate to the wind and let go of the past
Love and light surrounds me

You'll only start to know a little bit about me after I'm gone.
You'll scratch the surface to find some details
You'll say...why did he not endure?
Why did he give up?
But you will never know the price of inner loneliness
While the rest of you dance
While the rest of you smile
A lonely heart is floating somewhere
Being used by the vultures who don't give a **** for life itself
And so it will come to pass
Moments you failed to express a feeling of care
A feeling of Love
A word of encouragement
But you kept it all inside
Brainwashed not to show emotion
The cost of time
Time you can't reverse

Some people only feel when they hurt
Investing in a taker is like throwing your hard earned money down a bottomless well
It will never prove a return
Echos and silhouettes
Apparitions and mirrors
Yet not amounting to the real thing
Dogs barking at shadows on the lawn
Chasing their own tail ... Chasing the wind
Death is a more considerable option to the taker
As long as he doesn't have to give

The Aftermath of Injustice

In Memory of Neil Aggett
1953 - 1982

You crossed the border to offer your expertise
To render a service to a people without a voice
A people in hell
To a nation stripped naked by gross injustice
Like a tree with no leaves
Stripped bare in autumn
Left with no shade from the scorching sun
The fruits had all been stolen by wicked men
Devoured by the debauched in khaki attire
Swollen and puffed with pride like pastry in an oven
They took you captive like Jesus once was
Punished for doing good
Until your heart cried out with an inner voice
Why the whips and chains
Wet and cold electrified feet
You knew then ... You wouldn't get out alive
Your passing cruelly induced
To end your life ... Your only relief
Like a whisper in a crowd
Who would hear your cry
Of course the papers had to say
He did it himself ... He did it his way
Oh how I wish I was invisible
There in your cell of hell
To name and shame the faces
Who unjustly got saved by the bell

Additional:
In this life it may seem that there are people who get away with almost anything and everything.
And perhaps they do.
However, only in this lifetime.
But sadly not in the life thereafter.
Like an alarm bell that breaks the deathly silence early in the morning.
It's not what you want to hear, but a necessary truth.

To live without tradition
To live without religion
But rather to have faith and hope ... for all
Simply to be one and not divided
Not to be seen as man or woman
Neither black or white
But as a person
Is that really so much to ask
Not to be a race or gender ... but a being
Just a being of self
No ugly ... no pretty ... no rich ... no poor ... no status
Just a person ... an existing and living being
Radiating Love towards all
To know that the light needs the dark
And the dark needs the light
Both need to coexist
No-one can perform a good deed if there's no evil to conquer
The street sweeper won't have any work
If there weren't people careless enough to pollute the environment
And so also the ants carried your breadcrumbs away that you left on the kitchen counter last night
But still it's good to dream
To dream of a perfect existence
Of a place where there is only Love and peace
A utopia I believe does exist beyond what we know
The perfect dream
The authentic dream

Walking home from a local pub
The evening so quiet
With the distinct smell of magnolia
Lingering in the midnight air
I look up at the stars
Suddenly my thoughts are taken back in time
It seems like yesterday I think
Where did the time go
Those endless nights of excitement
We’d throw stones on a stranger’s roof
Dare to ring someone’s doorbell
Then run away as fast as lightning
We laughed so much our stomachs hurt
Now our muscles contract from stress
The needle had reached the end of the record
Lifted and returned to its holding place
The stereo light still burning when returning home
From an intoxicated night of pleasure and dance
Oh the bliss of ignorance and youth
Sometimes it’s better not to know
I continue to walk on
Suddenly I see a FOR SALE sign
Someone else’s dream has come to an end
Or perhaps it’s just begun
You never know how special the moment is until it’s past
The biggest regret is regret

I'm really not interested in your bigotry
It's not my fault that you've spent your life standing in judgement of others
You wouldn't recognise God even if you had bumped into Him at the supermarket
Because you're too busy trying to find the devil behind every rock

I dreamt that I was in a cathedral I had never seen before
It was empty and serene
It was daytime, yet the candles were lit
The stained glass windows did not allow for too much light
I was wearing formal attire
It was then that I observed a child standing in the left isle
He seemed overcome by sadness and desperately lonely
The young boy came closer
At once he grasped me around my waist
He held me in a tight embrace
His little hands would not let me go
We were caught in a timespace
No words were spoken
Until the distraught boy broke the silence
Please, can I come home with you he pleaded
Though I recognised him from somewhere, I did not know him
Within a blink of an eye we were at home
The boy seemed happy to have found a safe dwelling
And I experienced a sensation of wholeness
Suddenly I woke from my dream within a daze
Trying to gather my thoughts
Trying to make sense of it all
Was it real or just a dream I wondered
Who was that child, and why did he look so incredibly familiar?
But the day had begun and the sun was bursting through the clouds
I stumbled to the bathroom, splashed my face with cold water ... looked in the mirror
At once I realised who the young boy was
It was me … Yes, me ...
I was the child who needed time and space to heal and grow
At an appointed time we met and merged
The pieces of a broken puzzle had come together
The inner child had finally come home

This is not just a tangible cold
But a chill in the heart
To say goodbye and love from afar
For the very one you held so dear
Became the root cause of many a fear
One never knows you're in the eye of the storm
Until you escape and look back
From the other side of the mirror
Things have now become clear
Uproot and cast away
The naysayers who sowed pitfalls in your way
Yet bid such not a bitter farewell
For hiding underneath that glossy shell
Unveiled a serpent you thought you knew so well

There were times that I had wished for you and I to be close

For our arms to lock into a warm embrace

But sooner or later the demons would get to you

They would use you as a stepping stone

To try and get to me

I would and could never permit that to happen

So in order to keep you safe

I have to keep my distance

At the cost of my own happiness

I have learned to love you from afar

Oh the politician of our day
We practice equality is what they say
But their works don't match their words
To pose as little gods
But to hold no real power
Spin tactics is their game
To win your vote is their aim
While a desperate nation's voice is silenced
Millions of promises are forsaken
Like accumulated rubble on the streets
Working to live ... Living to work
Until one day a line shall be drawn across the sky
And all the demigods shall assuredly die
They shall be planted like trees ... But not to grow
Remembered no more
Tombstones covered in bird droppings
As a new horizon awaits
Where all the little gods of our time will be washed away
And the real God shall arise
There shall be no need for substitute little gods
For the true God, the real God shall be with us

Under attack once again
From those who make themselves available to him
By now one would think I'd be use to it
He knows my weakest link
How to distress me
He knows who to send to me and when
Who is vulnerable and who is not
Whoever allows themselves to be used as a pawn
Surely shall get used
No deposit required
While payback awaits
Most are used unknowingly
Driven to say and do as if instructed by an invisible force
Blinded not by the light
But rather by the darkness
However there is a weapon to be used
A weapon that will and can disarm
To master the art of knowing from whence it comes
Then to ignore it

Like night is from day
The moon from the sun
Like oil and water that refuses to blend
Love versus Hate
So is the great divide
From the presence of light
To the absence thereof
A rift throughout the world
It surely can be felt
So is the great divide
Like a robust ocean torn in two
Cross currents can destroy
Like war differs from peace
A knife could cut or ****
So is the great divide
