The only thing I want any more,
Isn't for me, or for anyone else,
But for you to be happy

Because when that happens,
Nothing else matters, even if it means
Being a little more alone, on a weekend
Meant to be so together.

TWO DIFFERENT WORDS - THE DIFFERENCE IS ABSURD,
I''VE FORGOTTEN 'IN' AND NOW THERE'S A THIRD,
WE KNOW WHAT'S BEST AND ALSO WHAT'S EQUAL,
BUT MAYBE INEQUALITY BECOMES A DOUBTFUL SEQUEL;
ALL THIS RHETORIC IS BORING - I HEAR YOU SNORING,
AMAZING ALL THE NONSENSE YOU READ WHEN PORING
OVER SOMEONE'S TREATISE BUT WHOSE TO SAY 'BOO,'
IT''S WRITTEN LIKE ROTE AND NO ONE CAN CHANGE A THING;
NE ' ER MIND, YOU TAKE WHAT YOU CAN FROM THE ERUDITE MAN,
SUDDENLY I FEEL SORRY FOR THE MIND OF AN ARTISAN,
EVERYONE IS MISSING SO MUCH - THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT
'QUALITY' MEANS, NOT SURE OF INEQUALITY, IT'S A PITY
THAT 'EQUALITY' IS NOT THERE, LET THEM STAND AND STARE;
YOU'LL KNOW THAT THEY'LL JUST SAY - 'I REALLY DON'T CARE.'

I look for you in reflections on storefront windows
In the eyes of every stranger I see
On park benches
In the footprints through newly fallen snow
At the bottom of my third bottle of pills
At the bottom of this bottle
From the bottom of my heart
I miss you

800

Two—were immortal twice—
The privilege of few—
Eternity—obtained—in Time—
Reversed Divinity—

That our ignoble Eyes
The quality conceive
Of Paradise superlative—
Through their Comparative.

Did you guide me, while I grew
Did you teach me, all I knew

When I was lost, did you lead me home
When I was cold, did you keep me warm

When I had doubts, did you set me straight
When I rushed too fast, did you make me wait

When I was scared, did you make me strong
When I was alone, were you, still along

Did you give me love, to enjoy its pleasure
Did you bring me family, so I could treasure

When life was dark, were you my light
When I was wrong, did you set me right

When disaster struck, did you take my pain
Did you make me whole, so I could feel again

Did you stand by me, as I forgot
As life progressed, and I did not

When I knew nothing, but a docile stare
When meaning left, were you still there

Did you let me die, when my life was thru
My slate swept clean, of what was due

Now that I understand, this to be true
Did you bring me here, to live with YOU

She was an artist, who drew me into her life.
The way she’d paint my name on her canvas.
The way she swept me away with every blank verse.

But one fact remained,

She drew me into her life only to smudge me into different shades,
Painted my name in watercolour as my name was smeared off the page,
And with every blank verse I fell, plummeting into an uncertain oblivion.

She was an artist,
Who got sick and tired of dead colours,
So she drew colours from broken hearts,
And bruised emotions.

I still look for you, you know
I wait and hope that you will be there
once a month, maybe, I will see you
you sit next to me and we launch into conversations
making up for lost time, perhaps?
All too brief and then you are gone
I journey the rest of the way in a heavy silence
thinking about what I should've said
last I saw you I wanted to rest my head
on your shoulder, like I used to
but I didn't
because that would hurt, in the end

It is as they say; hope breeds eternal misery

I don't know if he'll see this
I don't know if I want him to
