The sun sends us life as a
coherent cohesive beam, unfiltered.
Our science has shown us that
all it takes to rationalize this
is a prism, the rainbows'
gatekeeper, after whose interference
we can see the dichotomy of
each ribbon of color, naked
and categorized like society.
A prism isn't necessary to see
that life is beautiful, any
more than society or our
minds are necessary for us to
instinctively know that light
loses something as it meets
The light was too beautiful for
us to comprehend, so we broke
it down to build up walls.
We used the walls to build rooms,
and our minds to bar the doors
and windows. Society took care
of the rest.
The real breakthrough takes place
when we take all that we
learned and use it to tear
back down that prison
of the light.
Thanks for everything, Nelson. Now you are finally free. Godspeed, & R.I.P.
Solitude is addicting
As my head grows restless
And my thoughts take over
Washing down like a waterfall
But at the bottom
There is no oasis
Madness is inviting
As my thoughts bounce around my head
Like a tennis ball at Wimbledon
Knocked back and forth, searching for a victor.
Like 100 tiny voices fighting to be heard in an endless echo
It's like fighting for calm
In the middle of an endless ocean,
Struggling in the midst and mist of a hurricane
I'm thrown from the sanctuary of my boat
And plunge into the murky waters of insecurity
Drowning in sorrow, mistrust and anxiety.
I sense a calm and open my eyes
Just to be hit with another wave and pulled back under
Deeper than before.
There you go, breaking my heart,
There you go, tearing me apart.
Accusing me of an uncommitted sin,
Celebrating,over me, your imaginary win.
With a whole heart, I had loved you,
We were always one, now you separated us in two.
You ousted me from your heart, saying the love was an illusion ,
Were you speaking of the same love, which was once unconditional?
There you go. leaving me alone,
There you go, reasons now unknown.
Without uttering a word from your lips,
Leaving me to bear the silence's whips.
Breaking the first rule of our love, the trust in it,
There , on the mighty throne of betrayal, you sit.
And you assume yourself as the one who was betrayed,
By the lady who made you her everything, the lady, whom you now degrade.
There you go, without any answers,
There you go, changing into a naysayer.
Releasing me , at last , of our shared love,
Of all the sadness, smiles, hope and woes.
I came into your life at such a young age, you were only a little girl.
You had to put your youth aside to raise a little girl.
You couldn't go out drinking & partying, responsibilities came into your life.
Such as a red headed little girl.
Throughout me growing up I've seen you at your weakest points in life.
At times it effected me a lot.
& other times it helped me be strong.
To not follow your mistakes as I grew up.
There were times in our life where we bumped heads almost all the time.
I said words that shouldn't have ever came out of a mouth from daughter to mother.
I apologize for that.
I want you to know that you have been an amazing mother to me & my siblings.
We've had rough patches together as a family.
But we all managed to get through it together as a family.
I just want to thank you.
For being my mother.
For raising your kids to be the strong people we are today.
For providing everything you have in my life.
& for giving me life.
I love you lots and Happy Birthday <3
Painted practice forgives the forward hand
Another man stands between the broken battalions
Caution slips underneath the tattered worn rug
And the apples and oranges rest naked and smug
The horizon stands poised neath a towering shrine
Wishing for salvation in an appetite of rhyme
And because there's no forgiveness for the weak or the rubbed
The one's left over have no need for the above
A cradle crosses the abstinent dream
Forgetting the difference between falseness and what's real
Pull apart your own fears, erupt sacred insecurities
Attack the dark with lighted candle and a roaring spark
Light across the window, cloud covers the moon
Reappeared faces make me strike another tune
Between the tide and the wave, sits a cap sized ship to heavy to move
The streets today are empty and how about you?
She moved like a serpent and spoke like a child
When the store owner's saw her, they all went wild
Two pair down wide and I've driven too many miles to cry
Why on this Earth is there rule you gotta' die -
Mountains peter past the fortunate blue
Of oceans to cross to peddle or bloom
Dead flowers rest on the graves of the dead
Birds lift their wings as they search for a bed
In a home where the mother grips every mention of moan
Parries a father to weak to address his crumbling tomb
See the spiraling trapeze spin and clap in tights
Even in dreams are we as forgetful as the vanishing night
They say that humans are compassionate and loving creatures, with a wide variety of emotions. Yet they also say humans are the most feared and horrible creatures on this planet. And all of these things were yet said by humans. What most people don’t say or tend to notice is that humans are full of oxymorons, hypocrisys, and failure. That may sound negative but it isn’t. If humans weren’t flawed then we wouldn’t be humans right? I believe those two most common perceptions of humans come from the two most commonly perceived personality types present in humans. You have the super happy-go-lucky type who believes the world is perfect and pure and no one wants to hurt each other. And then you have the extremely hateful cynical type. The people who have been hurt and stepped on and abused and feel they have every right to hate the world. But I think these two extremes are quite unfair to the majority of the population that is in the middle grey area. The reality is that the world is a mystery and treats every human differently with different experiences, just as all humans are different from each other. It’s quite beautiful, that grey area. You never really know what’s going to happen in the middle and its exciting.
