Hell Creature
Sonya Jul 2019
Rage likes to bubble
Right at the surface
Boiling my heart
Destroying all purpose

“No one wants to hear your broken drivel”
Repeated by the people
“Hey talk to us if your heart should shrivel”
******* hypocrites.

Soaking my body in sugar
Dripping long after due to the fire
Sealing my words away
Throwing my feelings onto the pyre

“Keep moving through all your pains and aches”
Repeated by the people
“You should stop if you start to break”
I want humanity to die.

Though nothing’s truly wrong
I’m clawing at my wrists
Though my life is “great”
The hell creature persists

“You need to speak to someone”
Then they point at the devil
“Why out of all these words you say none?”
******* I’m done.

Self Insert

I want to not be me
I'm a boring girl you see
So put me in the world of fantasy
A girl with better hair
A maiden true and fair
Who caught her hero in a love affair
Perhaps an edgy girl
Who hates the whole **** world
A badass princess of the underworld
By putting on a mask
I'm put up to the task
Of becoming whoever they may ask
So uncanny and strange
So quick to simply change
Yet pretending to be perfect all the same
I wish to be perfect
No matter the effect
And my reality I do reject

Living Hell
Sonya Jan 2019
Come one come all to the darling show
As a small girl swings to and fro
Back and forth through the inky sea
And lights to bright for her to see
Making a mockery of herself
A disgusting creature is she

Oh how I hate the circus trapeze
The swinging brings me to my knees
My costume flutters as I glide
With my monster that I must hide
Clawing away at my frozen lungs
And tearing me up inside

Sleep
Sonya Jan 2019
Let me go to sleep
And dream a perfect dream
Without a whisper nor a peep
Nor a tear along the seam

Hurt
Sonya Dec 2018
He's doing it again
Getting loud and scary
A monster in his den
Tearing apart fairies

My eyes are both flooding
He tells me it's a mask
The fear continues budding
My mind is in a cast

It's time to run away
But he says otherwise
His words destroy the gray
It's painful black and white

The law may be escape
But he tears that to shreds
His maw is left agape
Lying, spinning threads

I whisper as a scream
A damsel in distress
Please trap me in a dream
And leave him with a guess

Second guess
Sonya Dec 2018
You're playing that song again
With the guitar and the breaking voice
You're sleeping until ten
Your tired wavering choice

You did your best for me
Gave me some place safe to play
I wish you couldn't see
Why I want to stay

Sixteen is six from ten
The number to rejoice
The rips along the hem
Your crying creaky voice

A Life To Celebrate
Sonya Dec 2018
It's supposed to be my birthday party
I'm not really paying attention
But it should be my birthday party
My mind is fading into fiction
Why celebrate my life?

My friends are all playing together
I'm not playing with them
They are still playing together
Pajamas tearing at the hem
Why celebrate my life?

It's not even my birthday now
It was some weeks ago
Born as leaves began to fall
And now there's falling snow
This isn't about ME at all

Numbers
Sonya Dec 2018
Up up up
Up the numbers go
Raising high my spirits
Drowning out my woe

Higher higher higher
Reaching to a peak
Then crashing down to none again
And leaving me to weep

Snowlily Masquerade
Sonya Dec 2018
A freezing cold temper
And a heart made of gold
Born with the winter
Her mask is quite bold

A silent soft slumber
And an emerald soul
Born with the summer
Her mask has a hole

An ego does splinter
With words that are bold
Blade right down the center
And hands become cold

Of golden and umber
And flowers of coal
The somber newcomer
Plays a princess' role

The dance of the masquerade
Of flowers both living and dead
Cold hands of she who has prayed
Take up joyous dance instead

Up In Flames
Sonya Dec 2018
Everything is up in flames
only one will take the blame
Everything is up in flames
so lets save everyone

Everything is up in flames
brother and sister are the same
Everything is up in flames
so let her fingers point

Everything is up in flames
purple child gone insane
Everything is up in flames
so let her run away

The first day of winter
Sonya Dec 2018
Tears freeze as they fall to the ground
Waiting for the time
Footsteps fall still without a sound
Soft bells without a chime
The snow is colder than the grave
Hair frozen to the skin
Flowers crumbling wished to save
The lost from unknown sin
Autumn was cold, winter colder
Poems upon the tomb
Time and sorrow growing older
The wish within the doom

When you look at the light, what do you see?
That light that she holds in her hand
A glimmer of hope or a desperate plea?
Or something you don't understand
When she holds out her light, what does she feel?
Those eyes say all that is known
What causes her to pray and kneel?
Is she really just what she's shown
She held out her light for all who are blind
The light she held in her hand
In all of truth she was just being kind
To a memory lost to sand
She held out her light and felt bittersweet
Her eyes with exhaustion shone
Knelt for memory of love incomplete
And carried her sorrows alone

The Queen and Despair
Sonya Nov 2018
She says that she's one made for trivial things
Her fingers of marble bearing black diamond rings
While holding my hand she comforts me so
Her fingers as cold as the ice and the snow
I cannot ask her the words I do not speak
But I wish to know a secret she keeps
We cannot talk long for my lungs can still breathe
And so to her word my blade I do sheathe
She says that it's not the night for such an end
Her silver set eyes well with tears that can mend

Ladies Of The Eclipse
Sonya Nov 2018
She stands in a field of dark flowers
Wearing summer’s crown
Her words are a symbol of power
But her face is sealed in a frown

Her dearest reflected in snowfall
A lady of winter’s despair
Her voice mumbles on in a drawl
Behind curtains of sepia hair

The ladies, two sides of a coin
Heaven and hell turned to one
Love that only fate will rejoin
The eclipse of the moon and the sun
