it’s not that the eyes can’t see at times
it’s just the brain that can’t read –
the pain, dip as cells in our body; smeared on smiles
it’s just that our brains can’t read

beautiful things have scars too
that you are yet to see them don't mean they have not
beautiful people feel pain too –
it’s just so well-hidden that eyes always hit a blindspot

and after it’s happened to another Dante
we all gather to cry, mourn on crumbled mountains
But of what good is cry to a soul that aches no more?
of what use is remorse to a heart that beats no more?
This poem talks about the inability of man to understand danger before it hits them

WHAT IF I SAID I LOVE YOU?
Emmiasky Ojex Mar 2019
What if I said I love you?
Would your heart skips its stepping stones and you fall into a bottomless hole?
What if I told you each time, I see your buoyed up face as early as 1 a.m at morn in my lovely dreams
My soul, spirit and body yearns to be always around you and casts a spell against its master ne’er to leave that scene

What if I told you that before I sleep off at dusk,
I’d pick up my mobile device just to take one more glance at the dazzling angel my wallpaper harbors
What if?, you got to know that the ‘ten tails of love’ were all for you
What if, all these and more you knew?

Would you light up my world with the sun in your smile,
tell me ‘I love you too’ and ‘You’re mine’
or would it seem to you, another love confession
one of the many love words you’ve been hearing long before you were eight(a)-teen

Would you leave me shocked by the regretful poem I wrote to woo you?
I’m afraid of being broken by another kind and thus, will never tell you!

TELL IT TO THE MOUNTAINS
Emmiasky Ojex Jan 2019
Tell it to the mountains
tell it out loud that the world might hear
Wax up the steep and rugged hills, journey the valleys and fountains
tell them! oh tell them now that they are near

‘that there lived the casted stones
Let the world hear of their silent voices
‘though may come as echoes
Yet, in peasantry they live and make such loud noises

The worthless pearls have found their worth
they sought for noesis and were answered without delay
Tell it out loud for
the son and daughters of lay men are now of great names

Tell their success story
Tell them it’s not all irony.

THE STORY IN MY HEAD (The Man Sitting In Your Front)

He’s not a human being – No, he is less of that
He might’ve been the one through whose ***** I permeated into my mother’s ******
But would you believe me if I told you that he deflowered his product?
And tags it a righteous conduct

To take a bite of the material to know it’s worth
And to be the first person to know what’s what and what’s not
That man sitting in front of you was the one who’s made me a shame
Since Mum caught him on me the second time, life’s never remained the same

I can’t even call my natal vehicle “Mom”
She’d say “I am not the mother of a *****”
I cannot give birth to a lady
Who’s only dream is to give birth as a baby

But what am I to do when that man sitting in front of you caused all these?
I can’t even tell you the pain I feel when someone calls me by his last name
I have to hold it in each time, in school I have to be called upon by the teacher with that name while being sane
But to whom am I to explain all these?

That the man you call my Father,
has committed ******
towards myself and my mother,
he’s sexed his first daughter
in an attempt to be the first buyer.

The Story In My Head
Emmiasky Ojex Nov 2018
I look down and I don't recognize myself
I tried to push my legs to go faster
but I guess theirs was faster than mine

Pushed to the wall of a filthy building
All I heard was ripples
I knew I've been caught

I could not register what was happening again
Grunts,painful moans of pleasure
Their hormones was saying yes, mine said no

After getting satisfied, they push and go
But I'm left to pick the pieces, but they left with one thing
and that was my pride

Remember Us This Way
Emmiasky Ojex Nov 2018
REMEMBER US THIS WAY

I look back on the memories we’ve had sometimes ago
When life was free for every one of us, both young and old
When hiding in dilapidated buildings wasn’t a survival technique
And death was from nature, not a man-made epidemic

When our young ones were free to go to school, grow up and become men who’ll rule
And the dead sons of our land weren’t having their cadavers along the road-path
When our daughters were whole to be married
And not hampered like now as they have to be carried

I’ll look back on the time happiness was never far from our sides
And joy wasn’t gotten from seeing our enemies die
I’ll look back on the building up front
With so many moments had therein, good and bad, all that we hold fond

I’ll remember that fahir was in us too
But now, as soon as the day brings itself new
I’ll see that the brother I’ve had my whole life is gone
To his end of time at the mercy of a ******’s shot

I’ll go to the death-counter, and see another sun’s been decimated
And another light has just been put off
All for what?
The land,
Power,
Money,
Or religion?

Another 12-Year’ld has just been laid to rest
With his mother wailings as the day before yesterday, he laid on her chest,
Promised her “I will grow up, become a feared militant and put the wars to an end”
But, he has just been pushed off of earth

We had holidays
Now only morning days
Yet as the dust fills our faces
We’ll hold on to our faith

For someday, we shall all together, say
“It was all yesterday”
So for this, I’ll always remember us this way!

Why Should I?
Emmiasky Ojex Nov 2018
Why should I hold it in?
Is my heart an inn?
Why should I not say when I have been hurt?
Will you only learn the evil your shunning made me do when I become a member of the dreaded cults?

Why can I not cry too?
Why does my pains have to be kept mute?
Will you only see the pain in my perforated heart after I go home
Beyond this phase, transcendence into the metaphysical zone?

I am human,
Born of skin and bone
Not made of rocks and stones
I have a right to be sad.

So why will you tell me to hide my face,
Beneath the dwellings of the bed sheet
And under the railing of my own skin
Why, I still wonder why?

If you can tell me your pain
Maybe I can ease you by telling you the shame coming out to tell the world what boys suffer brings to my name.

BLAME IT ON THE MONEY
Emmiasky Ojex Nov 2018
Look at our daughters
They now show no ill in laying with men old as their fathers
Look at our sons
Nothing is holding them back from scamming the green people with their bad brain and laptops

Look at our mothers, fathers, the young men and alike; women,
They now have no time for their own children,
Everyone is too busy searching for just one thing,
And that is known as MONEY!

Why will a lady lay with a dog?
Or why’ll she prefer to be known in the environ as a hog?
Is it not just for one thing?
They choose to sell their body?

Why will a schooler choose to become a drop-out with no good passion?
But he’s trying to boycott hardships and hardwork
He’ll just join the bad gang
And will receive money off stealing from the innocent man

He’ll swerve off money from the fleeceable parents
And to all their good, he’ll put an end
He’s not *******
He just wants the wealth; in anyway it comes and at whatsoever cost, he cares less!

Blame it on the money,
What is ours is now owning us,
And we still show no remorse,
As even today, some of your sons and daughters are still singing this MONEY SONG!

DO YOU?
Emmiasky Ojex Nov 2018
Do you see us when we cry?
When we try to hide our faces in the sand?
have you ever thought it through,
That these people might be hurt too

Do we seem like we do not have pain receptors in us?
Nay, we are born out of bone and blood
We also feel the same pain you do
Only that the would sees us as weak and your strong when we show it

Do we seem like goats
We do not need to be told
“You are a man, be one”
Will you tell these words to my boy when I am gone?

Of course, I am a boy!
Is that a curse?
Can I not feel hurt as well?
Or will you only notice my tears when I drown in the well

Please look into my eyes and tell me
It’s okay to be a hurt boy.

Sweet Architect
Emmiasky Ojex Oct 2018
Sweet architect!
I hope you are listening to the clamors in my head
I hope you see the pain I feel in my chest
I hope you see that I really am trying my best

Sweet architect!
I hope you’re seeing the tears my eyes harbor
I hope you realize that my heart sobs
I hope you see me in my origin as someone with naught

Sweet architect!
I hope you see my soul is a mess
I hope you see me try again and fall back on earth
I hope you see my laid back at night trying to reach the heavens for help

Sweet architect!
I hope you see me wishing I could change
Become a better person in this age
I hope you see that I have been damaged

Sweet architect!
I hope you see the need I need
I hope you see as I fall on my knees
That I need a whole new knead

Sweet architect!
I hope you know that I know that you’re the only one who can
Help me with all of earth’s troubling time
And let me live the life I deserve

Sweet architect!
This is not my cry to you but a plea
Like a poor child to a rich King
I reach out to you for a meal!

Sweet architect!
We both know these chains are not mine
But I got them while I was trying to make it in life
Please help me break loose and survive

Sweet architect!
I know that you are all where
At days when you are needed
You’re always near

Sweet architect!
I now plead with you to come; save me and my mates
From this trouble we have to eat on our dining plates
And move us from where we are to our original place!

Imagine
Emmiasky Ojex Oct 2018
IMAGINE

Imagine a world for no and everyone
Where we all are here to be as one and to save the world
Where we have no differences at heart despite the differences at hand
and our nations can all relate with one happy and unified mind

Imagine a place like home that is not your or my own
Where we could shelter as many people it could condone
a home with fights and get back togethers
Where nothing is left in our hearts to keep that might lead to someone’s death at night

Imagine a dreamland, not this wander-land we think is a wonderland
Where the only thing we seek is profit over feelings
Money over family and corruption over redemption
But such a land that is rich in the manna we have in our hands and give out to those who lack and never had

Imagine a world where the world knows and does right
And we could all end these meaningless fights
That has taken so many lives
Till we were so lost fighting that we forgot to take care of our dying brothers while they were alive

Imagine a world where we could reach to the next person’s soul
Let him or her know
I am here and all will be well
And we are not so selfish that we always want to neglect them

Imagine and keep doing so
Let us plant in the hearts of our neighbors what we’d all like to sow
For what is worth doing is better done well
And we can all have for each and every one of us, a living watered-well

I know that you may think this is unachievable
But what is not achievable is what we cannot imagine
For the power for us to become one is locked in
And we just all need to tap in, knock on the door and see what beauty every one of us has within.

You are not black and I am not white
We didn’t come here to be, by colors recognized
We came here to show that we can care
And that is why we all are here.

THE STORY IN MY HEAD
(Sounds Of Silence)

Would I have had it any better in life?
Why would it be me?
Why would he hurt me?
He is my Father

Why would he get closer to me?
Why would he unbutton me and tell me not to shout?
and why did I not?
Why did I not tell Mom?

That her husband, my father is not the man he was once
Now, he craves for me, his product,
That he didn't do it just once
but more times that I have even lost count

I am hurt but can only speak to myself
For one word out, is hell
I am fearful not to speak, for he said
DO NOT DARE SAY ANYTHING, or you are gone {dead}

Mom, I am sorry but I each time you inquire,
"Are you feeling fine, Glory?"
I can only say "Yes Ma," a deceiving story;
I can only smile at you

For the man in front
Is not a man
but a beast who feasts
on his own kids.

I fear for my own death to not come at this young age
Perhaps, I can tell only myself this tale
Till when he is of old
and the story can then be told.
The story I fear telling anyone, I have to keep my sounds in my silence

BECOMING EIGHTEEN
Emmiasky Ojex Aug 2018
Now I can go to jail
Have for myself, a bad name
If I take the wrong steps
And follow evil men

One that I would carry with me for the rest of life, in shame
One that would follow me till I join my brothers in Hades
I fear for I will soon be leaving the teens
But no worries, for I am still a kid to Him

Now I can serve life imprisonment
For murdering a soul whether I did or did not, since I was there
Now I am a man
What will I grow up as?

A bad or a good one?
I do not know and can not say what I want
For the world is all wrong
And what they see as good is actually not

I am becoming eighteen
I will no longer be known as a teen
But an adult
Who would learn from people and life, all sorts

Welcome to the world, son
Say this to me for
all I did in the past was learn
Now we’ve gotta put what we learnt to fend for ourselves

In this market of life,
We’ve gotta struggle to not get behind
Life’s gonna move on whether we like it or not
Whether or not we want it to be solved.

Now I know no thing,
Yet, I plan to and will learn every thing
All I wish to happen, I will do them
And not like them, complain rather than make wishes real.

I am and will always be ME,
May He help me.
Amen.

WHILE I STARE
Emmiasky Ojex Aug 2018
WHILE I STARE

While I stare at the deep of the earth
I tear from my eyes
Is this what He made it to be?
Were we all meant to live like this?

Guns became our toys
Breaking hearts became a thing of joy
Corruption became a hobby
and we've turned immorality into our Tommy

Now that I choose not to be part
they tag me, a daft
that I am dumb
for not wanting to be part of the smart ones

While I stare at the repulsiveness
instigated and done by the of the sons of men
Not even afraid anymore, we sleep and dine with them
and are forced to be close friends

Now, I am void of tears
What is the need to weep over what is dead?
I will try my best to revive them
Not cry over what will not be solved with tears.

I will save the few I can
So they also can stare from afar
and thank Him for our lives;
the lives of positive influencers.

MIND OF A BEGGAR BOy
Emmiasky Ojex Jul 2018
We’re hungry
But we lacking

We can’t even dare ask
Cos for us all, eating food is really an heinous task

Their moving out in their cars
While we, in here we are, hiding in our infectious scars

I wanna go out of here to there
But what about these ones I’ve got as friends

It’s really irking
But can I be in such a hurry?

If I have the brain to leave!
How will my younger ones live?

If I have the power to go and beg!
What about those in here, living without legs?

But then, we’re hungry
And we’ve got no one sending us daily meals

Seems I just have to make a run for it
And beg a few things for human being to eat

We all don’t have a choice but to live our time this way
For we are children of those who didn’t make good use of their young days.

HELLO FRIEND
Emmiasky Ojex Jul 2018
Hi, it’s your friend
Yeah, your longtime friend
The one whom you thought our relationship has come to an end
Just because we are now on planet earth's different end

I just wanted you to know that I still care
and thought it’d be nice of me to start another relationship trend
with you, my longtime friend
surely, you’ll have made numerous others but, trust me, we are not them

Since you decided not to call
I realized we’re both so busy that our time for old friends is none
But not us, we’ve got a special bond
So I decided to, with this message, make a call

I miss you and those times
Surely, we can’t reverse it yet it’s fine
At least I can still hold your hands and my cheek will form a smile
Or are we already too old for that?

Hello friend
We’ve been through so much
Life’s hurdles and many more
Here, we don’t know whether we’ll live so long
To meet at that time we envisage in the future
So while we still can, let’s catch have some fun

Life is a journey and not a race
We all emanated from a starting phase
And will end up going to different places

The point is, live well in the moment
and quit chasing that which isn’t really needed,
make friends and let’s live fully till our ends.

From a friend that cares

IF NOT YOU, WHO?
Emmiasky Ojex Jun 2018
In a nation filled with political miscreants and tyrants,
Led by unworthy leaders,
All moving towards the path of the gutter,
Despite her uncommon number of talented hustlers.

In a world filled with endless opportunities,
Undeniable abilities,
Despite her rich but untapped resources,
Cos our leaders prefer to make it their personal properties.

We've watched long enough from the sideline,
We've suffered enough during our predecessor's timelines,
And endured till now we've all gotten tired and worn out,
That their tongue of deceit even fears to say "Youths, calm down"

Now is our chance,
We can take a stance,
Lead the fight;
And win the match.

We've woken from our slumber,
And discovered that we're not just burghers;
But partakers,
In our political aura.

If not us, who will?
I can't expect you to fight for me,
And you shouldn't expect a savior from him,
We all fight together since it's on you and me.

Cessation: - We all might not see it yet but, we are the change the nation deserves and will get.
We are the best leaders (future)all nations can and will have.
If we don't choose to be positive, how do we wanna cause the nation to improve?
Think wise, be wise.
If we all choose to see the wrongs getting done in governance and not work towards changing it, who will?

DILEMMA
Emmiasky Ojex Jun 2018
Oh! I am in a state
a state of confusion
Where i don’t know which way to go
a state of dilemma

Oh! I am in a state
a state where i don’t know what is right from wrong
Where i see two road;a narrow with few and a wide with many
a state of dilemma

Oh! I am in a state
a state where i start to question my loyalty
Where it’s either to stay put or move on
a state of dilemma

Oh! I am in a state
a state where i get complains from both sides; both good and bad
where i get tempted by the vanits of life
a state of dilemma

Oh! I am in a state
a state where the joy of eternity seems too far ahead
Where i get addicted to the phrase “LIVE FOR NOW”
a state of dilemma

Oh! I am in a state
a state i can only be saved from by HIM
Where only THE POTTER can help
a state of assurance

For, I am now in another stage of the state
a stage of addiction to the narrow
Where i can envisage now that my future now and later is shining bright

A state of SMARTNESS
Emmiasky Ojex Jun 2018
They say heaven and hell
will be the final in one’s end
But to us, we’re already there
We’re already witnessing stage one on planet earth

We’ve got so much as nothing to eat
and so to the streets, we take to feed
We just have to not die but live
since they’ll always be that caring hand who is willing to give

We’re children of those with nothing
We’re living in a place with nothing
living with a life of anything (comes and goes)
and so we too do not think of becoming something

Please, can you help us?
We don’t really think of becoming more
But you who is strong and can conceive greater thoughts
Please, teach us how we can live life with joy!

Please teach us what it’s like to be a child
To growing to youthful ages and then a fully bred man/woman
Please help us grow wise
And live our lives while on the right path!

Please, we do know we’ve got nothing to offer
and if we continue on this, we’ll grow wild
we’ll only set our minds on getting the cash
and if begging wouldn’t provide, we can just turn to rob people and banks.

Please, save our lives
For we know this we are children of circumstance
But we too want to become people of substance
and surely make impact.

Please save a dying soul.

FOR THE CHILDREN OF BEGGARS
Emmiasky Ojex Jun 2018
We are children of beggars
we have no choice but to automatically harness our little talent
or what we know it as
knowing how to beg and prolly wash cars

Since we’re surrounded by poverty
penury, and a radical outlook of insanity
We live our lives with no strings attached to it
all we do is just for us and those in our surroundings (family)

We’re children of beggars
Life’s hard those on the outside
They complain of mere power outs
But then, do we even know what’s called light?

In here is pitch-black
our raggy clothes own their rags
Even us is black and dark
Life for us is to black that it’s gone stark

Please help we children of beggars
We don’t know what is called life
To us, it’s just pure strife and massive plights
But with your help, we can have in life,  better times
