Tired of Destruction
Nicholas Fonte Apr 2018
You want to see war?
Religion and Politics.
Welcome to the war.
This is my personal feelings on those subjects. I don't mean to offend anyone with this poem and I apologize if I was.

Happy Thoughts
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
I despise this feeling
That doesn't have a sealing
It wants to constantly be singing
And in my head it never stops ringing
I deserve to die
I deserve to die
I deserve to die
I deserve to die
I don't want this cheer
Stop ringing in my ear
You are a blight
That I will never accept as right
I deserve to die
I deserve to die
I deserve to die
I deserve to die
I want it to just end
To have the ringing mend
I want this life
No matter the strife
I want to live
I want to live
I want to live
I want to live
This is my name
But after all this shame
I deserve to die
And this isn't an ugly lie
It's a beautiful truth
For this one and only youth

Goodnight
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
It's just a dream...
It's just a dream!
It can't be a nightmare
For my waking life is the scare
For no one has a care
As I flow along this furious stream
So please just let this be a dream!

Contrast
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
Mother
Father
Brother
And then we have
Sister?
It would sound weird
If it was "sisther"
But why separate her?
She did nothing
To deserve this hate
Blood has made them
The Same
But she has her
Own Name
And I'll tell you
Now
That's not lame
This is a minor note here but I wrote this poem in two different ways. I liked the vertical version the most between the two which is what you see here, but the other version kept a lot of the lines together like lines 1-3 were all one line and lines 6-7 were also one line. The words are the same, but I thought I'd note it here.

Line
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
I choose to walk this line
Not in the inside
Neither the outside
I love this path
It has this shine
Avoiding all wrath
Which is quite divine
I choose this side
To walk on this line
Because it is simply mine

Strength in a Small Song
Nicholas Fonte Apr 2018
I wish I was strong
if not for myself
But for her sake
If only I could raise my voice
To sing this song
So she can dance
Let her be herself
And let it all out
To have my voice give me a chance
I want her to see my choice
To know what it's all about
But my voice never gets a break

Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
Off in the distance
Away she will stand untouched
By the war we wage
I wrote this really early on in my poetry career. I have been critiqued on this one a  lot so I ended up writing different versions of it. Check out VII and VIII after reading this one and let me know which one is better, please!

Moving On
Nicholas Fonte Apr 2018
Don't worry about me
You are off the stage
So don't look back to see
The shadow you left in the cage

Need
Nicholas Fonte Apr 2018
Would you follow his will?
To patiently stand still
And accept everything you're told?
To live in a world where the bold
Are sent down to Hell?
Go ahead, ring that bell

I will form my own way
With no need for him
I am able to prevent the sway
And I will slowly trim
My path forward
There is no other way to proceed onward

That they are all just dreams?
But not everything is as it seems.
Do you know what I mean?

Mice
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
Look at them scatter, the mice,
Running through that maze
Seeking their cheesy paradise
Eventually, they end up in a daze
Only wishing for peace
What they once craved
Was that sinned cheese
But now they will never be saved

Bravery
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
Look at where you are
You have strung the bow
And you have readied your arrow
Yet you have this bar
Preventing you from finishing the act
Don't tell me you hunger for life
You wanted to end this strife
Release your grip and prepare for the impact

A Monster
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
I hide under your bed
I will bring about your end
No matter what they said
Do you still think I'm your friend?
I bring about your disaster
And make you think about kicking Your can
Am I a monster?
Or worse...am I just a man?

Beginning
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
The world has lost its storage
I don't have the green courage
I will always cower
Without the red power
Or a kingdom
To provide me the blue wisdom
But I have this bow
Which will be my start to the golden glow
Bonus Points you can guess what this is referencing!

I have overworked my soul
It has taken its toll
I fear I will never rest
Because I never achieved my best
Because there was no chance
Before the white dance

The Moment in Your Head
Nicholas Fonte Apr 2018
This place constantly changes
And with every step it rearranges
Leaving everything unanswered
But we still remain here
Seeking that very answer
Hidden within this cancer
That we supposedly have control of here
But in that one second, everything had to disappear

Inner Emotion
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
To get her so close
Finally to see her undress
To see her pose
A relief from her stress
The moment to strike
Is before my very hands
I let out my pike
To fulfill her demands
With no more rest
I plunge in my knife
She wasn't ready for the test
Ecstasy begins to flow in to her life

Anathema
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
You never look
You never hear
You never feel
You don't accept me
So why did it have to be me
Who fell for your grace?
You have a beautiful face
You always act kindly
You possess more, you see
Your intelligence sweetens the deal
So why must I sit in fear
Who cannot see into your book?
Good luck finding the rhyming scheme :)

The Actions of their Color
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
I know all I said
Was always red
In response to you trying to help me let go
By giving me yellow
You did this to stop blue
That I know is true
But now there is no going back
Now that we are covered in black
For I seek the might
To find white

Our own care is always there
We flare up out of the chair

Our tree will grow free

Poetry Flies
Nicholas Fonte Mar 2018
Let's make some rhymes about a dove.
Did you know they represent love?
If that's so, then do you think it is right
To go ahead and cage that white?
They fly for their part
But little did they know it was over from the start
I wrote this one to define what I my poetry is about.

Forever Alone
Forever Silent
Born in the light
Blessed by the darkness
Forever standing with you
This was my first poem I wrote on my own time. I didn't intend for it to be super great poetically. I wanted it to have a super ambiguous meaning. That way, anyone can come up with a meaning for it.

Take a look at this filled glass
Does your gaze not see the drop?
It is merely sitting on the top
Separate from the mass
The more you watch
The more time you spend
The drop seeps down with no end
The drop goes on because it has found the match
