my first ten word poem
when ten
words aren't
enough.
so these ten word poems...i find them simple, brilliant, yet a little awkward.

A brilliant blaze high in the sky
banishing the shy clouds away
revealing the purest of hues, a bright blue.

A single magpie flies nearby
I wish it didn't stay
as one for sorrow is very true

I suspected the sky to suddenly cry
for nature to obey, ruining my day
receiving the misery due

Instead the sun refused to comply
the single magpie it did disobey
And a second magpie came, as if on cue

With two magpie it did imply
what a joy will be today
Two are rarely a rue

To quick was I to jump to the negative
presuming the worst, my fatal imperative

Because when they go to fly
My happiness won't die

I don't need to anchor my well being on what I see
Cause all I need to enjoy life is me

I watch the two magpies now with amusement
soaking in this wondrous moment

People say these things take time

Well here I am waiting

structure, form, and
political
correctness
drip down tired
backs
as
dreams fade
to forgotten
facts.
once baptized
in scholarly review,
cry
till the fire’s
put out in you.
and when the pain
leaves your
solar plexus
learn structure, form
and political
correctness.

The look from her eyes, will make your knees buckle.
Old game; same struggle, different hustle.
With a croaked smile; she whispers, “I love you.”
Thighs, chasing highs, cause highs- heals;
lovely view; your daily double.
Tried beginners luck; who gives a ****
Heads and Tails; and things still aren't looking up.
That's the closest; some will get; the rest giving up.
So much for getting lucky.
Luckily, Misery hates company;
Unless they accompany.
Lots of money to cover fees.
Monkey see,
Monkey do,
You ain't telling me.
Good ******* the streets,
But in the sheets,
Nothing but trouble
Likes is rough.
Using your weak spots,
her strong points; tough
they will make you struggle.
Rubbing her strengths against you,
All skill, applying her iron will; until
you burst your bubble.
Her feelings; out of reach
Those things; will get you in trouble.
No love lost; tough lessons taught.
The experience they brought.
No family, no Friends; The endz;
In God we Trust; is all she can trust.
Saving her life away, still ain’t enough.
Men lie, women lie; that’s enough.
Life is rough; but she’s keeping up.
Won’t get the best of her, can’t say it enough.
Life’s a *****; and the devil filleth her cup.
Now Karma's coming after me; *what the ****.

She has a heavy heart. A messy soul.
A reckless mind, that lacks self control.
She wore nothing but shades of grey.
Her finger tips blue, from writing all of the words she couldn’t say.
She’s always been a silent fighter,
with demons on the tip of her tongue.
Taking away her breaths,
right from her lungs.
She won’t take any judgements,
on the bonds she needs to untie.
She won’t listen to those telling her how to suffer,
and how to cry.
Ignoring the murmurs of others she looks up at the sky,
as tears start to roll down her cheeks,
that tell a thousand stories she’s too afraid to speak.
Her heart cries for help,
but her face is all smiles.
Her emotions unsteady,
hiding she’s been crestfallen for a while.
Something she’s learning is that she needs to undress.
Starting with her buttons of worry and stress.
Undoing them one by one,
brick by brick.
She knows it’ll be hard,
for she’s built them up thick.
She was once asked why she sometimes wears many layers on warm sunny days.
She said because they made her feel grounded,
but maybe it would be better to just FlOaT away.
Giving in she wandered around searching for something that will finally set her free.
Lift her off the ground,
high above the trees.
She is like a kite with it’s string still spooled tight.
Closing her eyes she drops all of her burdens mid flight.
After realizing how unhappy she has been,
she choses to live as light as air,
never again to lose sight from there.
