Malleable minds
Growing where knowledge finds
Qualities of learning grows in kind
Like a sponge soaking over time
Seeking knowledge they will find

Thirst for more they learn
Raising their hand, take their turn
The wheels in the mind discern
Subscribe to the attributes time churns

That aha moment when they grasp the concept
Once knowledge is learned it’s kept
in their mind and in their heart
it’s malleable, but it’ll never part.

The gift of education is more than If you could
It’s changing a person for the betterment of good
Giving them the keys to success learn and grow
The seeds of wisdom understanding they sew.

Education is something no man can take away
It’s more then what Teachers say
Each student calculates reason their own way
Applied concepts emerging intelligence at play

The weight of a valued teacher insurmountable
teachers don’t measure up should be accountable
Playing with impressionable minds is precarious
to knowingly poison that mind is nefarious.

Something described as malleable is capable of being stretched or bent into different shapes or capable of being easily changed or influence
The greatest thing about education is when a teacher and parts critical thinking, concepts, and education to expand the mind of a young adult. Thereby imparting wisdom they will grow to become who they were meant to be. And that is something the man can take away. Knowledge is a beautiful thing. The limits are only bound by the individual. 4-5-25 Benign
Benign describes something that does not cause harm or damage. In medical context. It is used to describe something that is not threatening life as in a benign tumor.

FYI
Doctors are now turning away, Medicare patients
I currently drive an hour and a half to two hours to doctors as the closest available that will take my insurance. Concierge doctors is on the rise. I’ve had so many doctors. Tell me I don’t take any insurance. People will get sick. They will pay.
Then they asked me where do you go for medical service. I look at them earnestly and say oh no I don’t go to any doctors around here. What I’m really saying is I don’t go to self-serving money hungry doctors who milk the system.
But many people are not that savvy when it comes to doctors, they think of doctors as gods. I did Dr. credentialing I know better. When you’re looking at a doctor who’s on his fourth med legal in fraction almost ready to be kicked off of all insurance company lists and not able to have patience and we’re supposed to pretend this is a wonderful doctor for our staff. I handled the med legal cases example, a patient dies their file goes under lock and key on my desk and I have to find something else at fault, other than my doctor. The machine hadn’t been serviced faulty equipment  yeah
I was a certified biller and coder. Then I started teaching at a post secondary two year degree program for medical billing. I did doctor education throughout the United States worked on emergency hotline all different areas within the medical field. I had my own medical billing service business chain, doctors and staff how to build correctly Education classroom to their office.. the lack of education in these office is astounding when somebody tells you the balance is your responsibility, call your insurance and make sure they build it correctly. 33% of errors in billing and they try to build a patient unwittingly especially older patients pay it.. They might just be asking for doctor information.

How can that be
Let’s do the math

for the most children born by a single mother .
How is this possible a true mystery

Between 1725 and 1765 40 years
Through laughter love and tears
A Russian peasant woman thrive
Giving birth to 69 children alive

This special woman
in her family tree she had 69 children.
How can that be?
Let’s do the math and then we’ll see

16 pairs of twins (32)

7 sets of triplets (21)

4 sets of quadruplets (16)

Total pregnancies, 27

Surviving children 67 out of 69 survived infancy

The father Feodor Vassilyev who was said to
Have fathered 87 children 69 with Valentina
And 18 with his second wife.(multiple wives)

Although Guinness Would Record confirmed
Many in the medical world have doubts.

a quarter to half of all children died in infancy.
Director of division of reproductive services and women’s health at John Hopkins.sights
lack of records a big hole in their story

Stealing the mother’s triumphant Glory
Honestly they just don’t know the whole story
And there, in lies the seed of suspicions
What about woman’s intrusion

Is this the case of trying to rewrite history?
Forever shroud in myths and mystery
God did say go forth and multiply
It was confirmed so now why is it a lie?

I do raise the suspicion in triplets and quadruplets that would be harder to carry those are typically followed by lower birth rates in a time when babies did not survive. Perhaps her did thrive!

I was told stories of girls getting married age 15-16
Since the age of 18, mothers gave birth 13 months apart that’s a start. I believe this could be true.
Generations had different family values who knew

What do you believe

What about it?

How’s The Weather?
My brother married
A vivacious woman
She positively glowed
as effusive compliments
echo by my brother

She beguiled him
With her charms.
She was a cynosure

As she walked
Into the room

As time passed
Their love
Became volatile

My brother and I

Our own language
Though the use of

It’s a sunny day
meant
A good time to visit

Cloudy weather
Changing Rapidly
meant
She’s about to blow.
Not advisable to stop by

The weather terms I worried about most;

Thunderstorms, Eminent Danger

Lighting Strikes likely Twice

I only heard this report once;

A Cyclone Twister
Appeared out of nowhere
Run for the hills
Nowhere to hide
No one is safe
Probable Casualties

My reply;
Yep I’ll skip the visit
To my Brother’s today

Brother’s reply;
Yes a good judgment call
Little Sister

My reply ;
Thanks for the heads up, Bro

I’m a Smooth Sailing Breeze
Perhaps I’ll Catch you

Every day all day long, we make choices between doing something good or doing something bad evil. Each of us have the capacity to be the good Samaritan or to be somebody’s nemesis. And the person we choose in the path we take is predicated on who we are and what we feed
Most people don’t know ,in the parable of the good Samaritan. The injured  man on the ground was the Samaritan’s worst enemy. His nemesis. Yet he showed kindness and passion.paying for his care.

Luck of the Irish

St. Patrick’s Day
In the local pub
I met my love
Drinking a pint of brew
He swept me off my feet
We fell in love before we knew
Romance so sweet

However I had a major problem an issue
I cried through a box of tissue
He had a tattoo of his ex-wife name
It night have been the end game

Big bold letters on his upper arm
His handsome facade lost its charm
Trish, my wish I wanted it removed
But what would that prove

Outwitting an unwilling participant
While His new lady love enchants
Tattoo a final decision to make
It could be the end of a beautiful romance

Winning will not be a piece of cake
We are both opinionated headstrong
An argument lasting all life long
A miracle it will take don’t forsake

The humiliation was my curse and cause
Except the past else relationship pause
We needed to find an amicable solution
To cease irreconcilable harm
He was impervious to my suggestions
We were at odds, on opposite sides
A revolution An amicable resolution

My darling man of reason
Wanted to clear the air
Avoided committing  treason
He wanted to be fair

In hindsight it might be a different ride
Some tattoos are hard to hide
he wondered how he would feel
If his wife had another man’s name for real

On her *** now that’s a show of style and class
The ex-wife carries His name without shame
still on her **** cheeks large letters, nice and neat
He smirked at the visual and size

He wonders as he slumbers What her
new boyfriend Would think deduce
White flag he issues calls for a truce

I hold my temper,
but stood my ground
I smiled spoke in a soft sweet voice
Miraculous patience I found
Leaving him little to no choice

Well, dear my name is not Trish
Resolution is, my only wish

The day was done
a clever girl Won
Sublime heart and mind
Contentment for all of time
I would find

Was it such a large price to pay?
What would you do or say?
to resolve the situation
in amicable way?

If He added a line under the letter T in Trish
He can represent Irish
40 years of marital bliss
Came down to this
a simple line
in the proverbial sand
ain’t love grand

my darling lad drinks a pint of brew
to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
to pass the time away of the change of his tattoo
The luck of the Irish now he knew

Happy wife happy life
A tattoo is forever think twice
Your decision might cause strife
Any name is simply a roll of the dice

Now, my Irish pappy
isn’t really Irish but remains happy
Resolution on his arm sleeve

and means we are all connected, and the death of any person, even a stranger, is a loss to all of humanity, as we are all part of the same human experience

Ernest Hemingway use the phrase as the title of his novel  “For whom the bell tolls”
The phrase can be used as a metaphor to emphasize the interconnectedness of
Humanity and the importance of caring about the events and people even those far away

Multifarious
Some thing described as multifarious has great diversity or variety, or is made up of many various kinds of things. Multifarious is a formal word and a synonym of diversity

2) I Am Woman

The Bible teaches man thinks only for the care of his woman first and himself second. Woman thinks of her husband First than herself second. Applied correctly in this way both needs are always met a gracious way of loved ones first..

Today is my fake birthday
On my 16th birthday,
I filled out the paperwork
at the DMV for my drivers license

The Paperwork came back
Invalid date of birth
How can that be
I knew when I was born !

I requested a copy
of my birth certificate,
Three  months later
I was stunned to find out

The date I celebrated
For 16 years was wrong
My fake cake birthday song
Off By a couple of weeks.

That’s bogus it stinks.
One of eight children
We line up roll call
We all had a number

I was number six
I was lost in the shuffle.
We had many nannies
Babysitters too

perhaps one of them knew
My brothers and sisters
Don’t remember curious
But nothing really serious

they all thought the 10th
was my true birthday
Both parents are no longer alive.
There’s no one to ask

How this happened or why
To be fair, this happened
to my younger brother as well
But his was only one day off

They say we spend our adult life
Getting over our childhood
I thought mine was fine
until I was lost in the shuffle.
I have a brother who will send me a text or call me on my fake birthday and he’ll laugh and sing happy birthday and then say not. I didn’t remember it on my right day, but he remembers it on my fake day which is today March 10 the way I look at it is none of the other brothers or sisters remembered my birthday at all so at least even though he’s mocking me jokingly not at least he’s talking to me that’s a good thing right

2) Money
By Pink Floyd 1973

As soon as we have, the thing we thought would make us happy, we move on to something else in that too becomes our drive and focus dangling the carrot in front of your face, changing the rules along the way
I used to think age was a state of mind
Working my whole life nose to the grind
Turbulent years have not been kind

Was there a specific moment life rearranged
When I began to notice change
Overtime life dreams became estranged

Began to move a little slower love not as bright
Cancer demands choices joy is out of sight

Illness take its toll
Pain can change the soul
Bulging disc back spasms knees give out
Numb feet neuropathy pain throughout

Forgetful, lost thoughts
The haves, and the have Nots
Memory once Sharp as a tack
Scatterbrain recollection now I lack

I understand why they call
Alzheimer
The long goodbye
Why, did I come into this room?
Frustrated can’t remember gloom looms

Legs give out falter unexpected falls
Yelling, screaming, crying, deaf ear calls.
On the floor flat on my back
processing where I am at

Not completely aware
How I came to be there
Mental assessment first things first
Instant flood of pain burst

Anything broken bleeding bruised
Knot on the head, lose tooth, blood oozed
I rub emollients to soften and sooth
Aspercreme BenGay, which one to choose

Triage situation urgent versus emergency
Elderly fall risk develop a contingency
Scrapes cuts occasionally a broken wrist
Off kilter slipped twist landed on the fist
Unable to get up nobody around
Floundering helplessly on the ground,

Surgeries total replacement both knees
Unable to put pressure on both of these
Not as simple as it sounds,
To pick yourself up off the ground
I can roll over
Than what?

Scoot crawl wiggle on my backside
Down the hall iPhone the goal my guide
Traverse down a few stairs a slide cried
Instant pain runs down the spine
Pray every moment for strength I’ll be fine

Solution: need a chair to pull up on
Everybody gone for how long?
Quickly learn to fend for myself
Shoot, the iPhone up high on the 3rd shelf

A horrific thought resides
Creeping seeping an emotional tide
After a fall my friend died
He hit his head on the kitchen granite table
Wounded bleeding Unconscious unstable

He could have lived the police surmise
Elderly incapacitated facts surprise
Investigation what happened evidence resides
Estimated  time on kitchen floor for three days
In and out of consciousness, craze haze

He bleed to death.
On the kitchen floor
His daughters will confess
Never able to talk to him ever more

Nobody came to visit. Not a single call
Loved ones should not die from a fall

A prominent man of well to do means
Living situation wasn’t what it seems
A celebrated man of stature
Tasked in war enemy capture
A battleship under his command
Near his end, he can hardly stand

father of two his children the man they never knew his adoptive family battleship cast and crew
Perhaps each were too busy with their own
His death they will atone
So many elderly alone

3-7-25 EMOLLIENT
AN EMOLLIENT IS SOMETHING SUCH AS A LOTION THAT SOFTENS AND SOOTHES
I am 64 and my husband is 77. We’re in a new phase of life and it’s not always pretty . My husband is falling all the time, he rolls over and falls out of bed. I had to put up a bed rail. He’s got all his faculties about him, but his numb feet makes him unsteady neuropathy. This is just a brief little picture of some of the elements we’re dealing with, but surely this is  a typical picture of the elderly today. We are now in the phase when our friends are dying I pray. today is a precious gift. sometimes I worry what tomorrow
Will bring. Is today our last normal day??. what will I need to do to survive when he ‘s gone?. Tomorrow is promised to no one live today to the fullest. It could be your last day.. the worry of the unknown I don’t let it take hold, but sometimes it gets the best of me.. death will come for us. All all we can do is smile when he comes to call..

They are watching you

A dilapidated billboard sign
From a time, unable to rewind
Large blue eyes behind a pair of glasses
Overlooking the valley of ashes
( F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby.)

They are watching you

The haunting waste of the past nothing lasts
Which linger through its irreversible varnish
The eyes, dimmed vacant, eternally blind tarnished
Forgotten , too many days under the scorching sun
A solemn dumping ground can be found for no one

They are watching you

What’s left of the world is unrecognizable
A waste land, It’s a small world after all
Wake up Rise up Here God’s call
Echoes of the past voiced by the small

They are watching you

A Draconian government grew
All communist too
People didn’t realize what’s in store
Reminiscent of the Book 1984
(George Orwell‘s dystopian novel 1948)

They are watching you

Limited words concept control
Government’s grip won’t let go
People stifled language remove
No praise stand above or to prove

They are watching you

No freedom to think or speak
A slave No better life to seek
Obey don’t ask don’t say
If you try, they’ll take you away

They are watching you

The Past rewritten History gone
A citizen’s job all day long
Dumb society down
Shopping malls in town
Closed burned to the ground

They are watching you

Issued items from the government store
Refused a new razor blade on the knees implore
Yet expected to be clean shaven evermore
The week seek Black market contraband
If caught you lose your hand

They are watching you

Reeducation they proclaim
They know your name
A cog in the wheel, food you sought to steal
The government knows what’s best they maintain
Stay docile. This is not a game.
Driven MAD your mind breaks plan insane

They are watching you

Food scarce people emaciated
Every race creed color Martyrs created
The rich people are getting fat
They retort nothing wrong that

They are watching you

Death of the poor that’s what’s in store
For the good the betterment of mankind?
The best of humanity can no longer find
Too many mouths to feed if they have worth
they are spared beyond that no one cared

They are always watching you

While attending university a minor in literature two books that stayed with me throughout my life are the great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald, and George Orwell‘s 1984. Gatsby, the billboard always watching and the symbolism throughout the book that permanently in my mind that billboard and its significance. George Orwell‘s 1984 was laughed at for so many years , there’s no way it could be a possibility. But today many things in that book are coming to pass. It’s as if “they” use that book for a roadmap to where we are today. Yet people live in a bubble they don’t think an out anything outside their bubble, they stay out of trouble while man’s freedoms are slipping away.

My heyday was the 1970s Living in Southern California, rock ‘n’ roll and every type of bands from easy listening, country, and everything in between. My youth church group in an. attempt to open dialogue between the teenagers and parents asked each person to bring in their favorite album. And we were going to have Music appreciation and talk about that particular album. So that meant somebody who brought in John Denver got equal respect as somebody who brought in the Doors or Led Zeppelin, Simon & Garfunkel.
In comparison, Simon & Garfunkel is mellow by rock ‘n’ roll standards but back then it was on the blacklist of evil music.
To see the underbelly of music
search on bands that sold their soul to the devil. Or search devil music. You won’t believe the singers and their interviews. John Lennon on that list

Demons Are Real
CJ Sutherland Feb 19
My First Demon
Truth stranger then fiction

I had just finished
An advanced Bible study.
I was on fire for God
thinking of all the people
I wanted to share it with.

Going over in my mind
who first
It was 2:00 AM I was tired
Laying back into bed.
I wasn’t all the way asleep
when it happened

I was about to doze off, startled.
There was a large black Demon
on top of me.
It was slender
tall to the ceiling.
A silhouette no face
A forceful, commanding
Ominous Evil presence.

I could not speak.
  As if my mouth
was glued shut
I was paralyzed
limited movement

I wanted to scream
I wanted to shout,
No words no sound
Nothing came out.

l struggled violently
Fighting to get free
Twisting jerking
I managed to jostle
The demon
Off of me

My mouth
Opened
at the top
of my lungs.
I screamed.

I AM A CHILD OF GOD
GET BEDIND ME SATAN
The heavy weight
still presence on top of me,
the power no longer there.
It started to dissipate
As if a genie going
back in a bottle.

I don’t know what possessed me,
Outlandish chutzpah
I didn’t want this Demon to leave
Where would it go next
into my husband‘s room or
somebody else’s house to deceive

I grabbed the Center mass
much to my surprise.
There was something
In my hands.
I held on tight,
By sheer will
Not letting the demon
Disappear

I was left with a
Piece of long cartilage
Similar to the top of a
Long balloon, but thicker

I instantly sat up in bed,
Then hurried to the kitchen
I threw the contents in my hands
onto the butcher block
A heavy **** sound filled the air
as the substance hit the wood
Rattling everywhere
proof some thing had been in my room.

I went to lay down on the couch
Still shaking from what had happened.
Oddly I fell asleep peacefully
Time 3:33A.M.
Later on
When I went to the kitchen,
Whatever I had was gone,

The Event
Played over and over
In my head
What it did
What I said
I needed to know why
I didn’t flinch. I didn’t cry.

I had to do research.
I was never going to let
myself be unaware again.
To live in ambiguous pretense
Things began to make sense

When people are
fighting with each other.
It’s a Demon interfering
in their lives.

If you look at life that way
you release each
others from blame
Place it on the evil
you can or cannot see.
Preventing us to lovingly be

For the next couple of nights
I kept thinking it
Would happen again
I hated my fear
I didn’t want it back here

I had to know more
Even the playing field
Leveling the score
To find out what
I needed to do
To protect myself

Before
I had an idea, but not a clue
Now I know what to do
I have the armor of God

As days passed
I settled in knowing
God is in charge
My faith was growing

When I give it to God.
Peace follows
No longer an empty heart
Hollow

The Bible teaches how
To proceed
That’s all you need.
But it requires Faith
The Holy Spirit and Grace

Who, What,Where and Why
I continue to figure it out
Remove fear’s doubt

I experienced a Demon.

Many won’t believe
 Evil practices to deceive,
But regardless
My Soul is not for
Satan to retrieve.

When you start to learn about evil demons entities abortions, you will learn that 76% of the world has experienced one in their lifetime. 24% will experience more than one. I continually have to work at not being afraid. When you’re still weak, it suggested that you have the Bible playing on low so you can sleep, but it keeps you safe because the demon will not enter when God‘s word is being spoken. where’s my research? I was surprised how much there was on the subject. Before this happened to me, I did not believe in demons. I thought it was a myth a scare tactic. you never know how you’re gonna react to something like that deep scary that was life-changing. I know the closer you get to God the more evil is going to try to take you away. I keep thinking about the  Bible story of Job.. if this ever happens to you announce yourself as a child of God, ask God for protection, and you do that by putting on the armor of God. It’s really hard to be levelheaded in the face of fear, but knowledge is king.

Valentine’s Day has it’s roots
in an ancient pagan festival

The Lupercalia Festival
Ancient Romans celebrated Lupercalia Day
A fertility festival on February 15

St. Valentine, the Catholic Church established
February 14 asValentine’s Day

To separate the church from pagan rituals
Dedicated to the Roman, god of agriculture
For The founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus,
it was celebrated with animal sacrifices,

The ritual; Men gently slapping women
With crop fields and raw dead goat, hide strips
dipped in blood, which is thought to help fertility

(Hence the Blood Red color was a major contributing factor to the ritual)

Medieval beliefs
lovers recited verse of prose to each other
on Valentine’s Day,

some believed birds chose their mate on that day

The poet Geoffrey Chaucer linked Saint Valentine with romantic love in the Middle Ages
with his poem The parliament of the fouls

Saint Valentine was a Catholic priest
in Rome in the third century.

He was known for performing secret marriages
for young couples, which was against
the emperor’s orders.

He was executed for defying the emperor’s
band on marriage and for trying to convince
the emperor to accept Christianity

Medieval celebrations
Valentine’s Day is celebrated by
exchanging cards, flowers, and gifts.
It’s a day to recognize the ties
that link people whether couples
friends or family member.

The Greek god of love was depleted as a handsome young man and had power
to make people fall in love overtime.

He was adopted by the Roman’s
and became known as a cherub, his image changing to the little boy with the bow and arrow because of his love inspired powers

He became linked to Valentine’s Day
by the turn of the century.

Big Business Commercialized the holiday.
A profitable venture evolved over time.

Nearly 250,000,000 roses are grown
In preparation for Valentine’s Day each year. Millions of flowers are grown around the world and shipped to the US specifically for February 14.

They come from Ecuador Kenya in Columbia.
While RED is the traditional symbol of love
Other colors ; deep pink, purple and white, symbolize, happiness, royalty, and sympathy

Americans spend a lot on LOVE
America spend nearly 26 billion on Valentine’s gifts  In 2023 people spend on the average
Of $193 for Valentine’s Day

Americans send 145 million on
Valentine’s Day cards each year
Booklets were created to

The holiday isn’t an anti-Valentine’s Day event, but rather a moment to celebrate
self love and platonic relationships

Quirky Alone Day
has been celebrated globally since 2003.

William Shakespeare inspired the tradition by writing a Billet-doux a letter to Juliet

Inspired by tradition

If you are married
Or in love
Valentine’s Day
Comes from Cupid
Angel’s up above

Deliveries to work are gifts
Of candy and flowers
Evening plan a romantic
Candlelight dinner for hours
Followed by
Hugs and endless kisses
Many sweet untold wishes

However if you are
Alone or single,
This day is an empty heart
That sadly tingles

One by one coworkers
Received their deliveries
Their glances of pity
Only added to my misery

Their words of sympathy
Only deep into my pain
Hoping the day would end
Before I go insane

Now
Hurtful memories of
Old versus New
Dinner for one
Instead of two

There was a time when
I too receive my deliveries
Before the days of
Now and my misery

My gallant man,
love of my life
Did not come home.
I spent Valentine’s Day
Staring out the window alone
Waiting by the phone.

I cried myself to sleep
I thought life
Could not be more bleak
For a young newly wed wife.

He came home
After a night at the bar
He had bought Flowers
But left them in the car

The next day
When I awoke,
Not a word between us,
We spoke

He had retrieved the
Flowers from the car
placed them in a vase.
You should’ve seen
The look on my face.

A dozen
Once beautiful
long stemmed roses
Had wilted
Like our love
Empty and jilted

I silently took
A pair of scissors
From the drawer
by the bed

Cutting the roses
one by one
At the base
Of the bulb head

My husband
Said nothing,
Only
Shook his head

He
Closed his eyes
To the
Shame blame
Game

I set the
Scissors down
Without
Placing blame

I made it clear
I never want roses
On valentine’s Day
We never spoke of it.
What was the point
Anyway

Valentine’s Day
Is a memory
Rubbed in my face,
Bittersweet sadness
Takes love’s place

Today 2025
42 Valentine ‘s Days
We whether together

We have learned to let
Our hurt go
Only then
Can we trust and grow

Our love
Carried us through
All the turbulence
If you only knew

A relationship
Takes it’s toll
Staying together
Instead of letting go

People ask,
what is your secret
for staying together?

Forgiveness patience
And unconditional love
Are gracious gifts
From God
In Heaven above

Every Day is
Valentine’s Day

A Relic
CJ Sutherland Feb 11
Filled with vestiges of yesteryear’s
My dreams reminisce  joyful tears

I have become a relic of my past
as I age, my memory will not last

Father time no longer my friend
The past doesn’t seem real in the end

I wonder what was it all for?
Spiritual warfare Satan keeping score

Was everything a test?
I hope I truly tried my best

By the grace of God
The Holy Spirit, a wink and a nod

I have eyes that see
Have I lived up to who God wants me to be

I have ears that hear
Putting on my armor of God without fear

I pray
Knowing
God knows what I’m gonna say

God knows my questions
God knows my heart

Yes still I pray
I am not worthy
That God should enter under my roof
Lord say the word
And my soul shall be healed
Rejoice in peace my heart will be filled

Believe in Relativism

Modern Haiku

Inspired song;

I believe
By Tom Jones (1970)

Footnote
Relativism is the belief that there’s no absolute truth. Only the truth that a particular individual or culture happened to believe..
(I had never taught before )
I admit I was excited and nervous

My first night teaching
Was basically housekeeping
Passing out packets explaining
The rules, I was basically preaching

I looked at the sea of eager faces and said “I’m going to give you all an “A”
right now. Everybody in this classroom has an “A”in the class.!”
All the students cheered loudly
A Student asked “ what’s the catch?
I smiled and said
“It’s up to you to keep it”
The class exploded with nervous laughter

The same Student raised her hand
(an eager ******, I thought Good)
Great, my first real question
“ isn’t it time for our break?”
I was not told anything about a break
I didn’t wanna make a mistake

So I began to ad lib. the conversation
Does everybody believe
we should take a break?
Every hand went up
Yes, said a student. All the other students nodded their head in agreement.

And when are we
supposed to have our break?
Again, all the hands went up
Student said
“ about now for 15 minutes”

OK we’re all on the same page
so nobody should be late returning
Let’s take our break now.

As an adult instructor
One must exude confidence
Be Sure of all explanations and answers
And At times to finesse
The situation from escalating

While working on an
Emergency medical hotline,
If we didn’t know the answers

we had a pack phrase “
“I’m going to do a little research to make sure  I’m giving you the most up to date accurate information”.
OR
Let me check into that and I’ll get back to you.(give a call back time)
Make sure you call back
You’re only as good as your word.

To reiterate
It’s OK to not know the answer,
Never say “I don’t know the answer”
Never let them see you sweat
Fake it, until you make it
If at all plausible ad lib.

If you choose to live in the world
Letting your freak flag fly unfurled
Beware care to know what is in store
The devil is close by keeping score

There is a choice to make
For a soul without salvation
Satan will steal, take propagate

Look at popular music and pop stars today
What Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Beyoncé
A myriad of others have to say

Their humble beginnings innocence lost
To the evil side, they eventually reside at all cost
Their parents only saw Stardom Money Fame
They didn’t see predators playing a devious game

Look at what happened to a young Justin Bieber
He didn’t realize the price of famous fever

14 still a child wild with stars in his eyes
Bound zip tied No one spoke as he cried
Bystanders Voyeurism watched yet later denied

Drugged willing at first soon it became dark worse
Violated, broken, tattooed body to hide his shame,
Silent victim petrified, feared who was to blame

Then Jesus came into his heart saved every part
A cautionary tale of what could go wrong
To be famous for love of music a perfect song

Yes they appear to have riches a great name
But to Satan their soul is the game to claim

Selling their souls is not something a star can do
Jesus paid their  price of sin Satan can’t win
Humans deceived, IF they only knew

Devil worshipped
Witches believe demons whispers a convincing lie
Loyal to Lucifer while Jesus, they denounced deny

A stone cold sarcophagus a corpse’ byproduct
of those fated concerts, a cautionary tale
in public view, concert guests don’t die well

The war between good and evil is all around us
Most people don’t realize or care to put up a fuss

Society has become conditioned to stay home
Sedentary No longer we freely roam
Perceived safe was in our proverbial bubble
We don’t won’t can’t perceive the pending trouble

I always wanted to be in a play
The idea to being a different person
Peaked my curiosity

I took a costume class while at University
I found a new proclivity
The costume teacher offer 100 points
To those who tried out for a play
An easy “A” hooray!

At audition I was asked to do a monologue
I didn’t even know what that was
The spot light shining intensely
Blinded any view of the directors
A Student, could audition for;
One or more of 3 Different Plays

I only was interested in one.
I heard my teacher’s voice
Do you know a nursery rhyme?
For a Grandma that was an easy question.
I recited Mary had a Little Lamb
with attitudes
Unbeknownst to me
The play I was trying out for
  Evolved into a musical

Called back for a second audition to sing
They asked who wanted to go first?
my hand shot up get it over with I thought
I saying Hello Dolly A cappella,
perfect song for the part

What a wonderful experience to audition,
I thought I was done. but I just begun

I was cast in one of the three lead roles
The play based on history
Tiburcio Vasquez, the last California bandit
Robbed from the rich and kept it!

I was Californa-Kate
The head, Madame of the *******
I was to sing two solos
I was in 12 out of 13 scenes of the play

They told me it was death by fire.
For a first time actress
I was scared straight

They open auditions to the public,
so professional actors could apply.

The other two lead roles
were professional actors.

How wonderful to learn sewing Techniques
I got to make all my costumes
Authentic Period Costumes
from 1835–18 75.

Singing a solo on stage what a rush
There was no greater experience
Then a standing ovation
From a packed auditorium

Tom Hanks started his acting career
on that same stage.

Strangely, after every performance,
I was always the first one to run off stage

The costume was extremely heavy
I have a special wooden stool to sit on
So do didn’t wrinkle the crinoline dress
So many layers , petticoats and plates
By the end of the play, I just wanted
Out of the costumes

It was stressful. I didn’t enjoy
the moment
as much as I thought I would.

Afterwards students had to pick a person
From one of the 3 plays to identify with, and write an essay 70% of them
chose my character

I was 30 in a school of young adults
I presented a different flavor perhaps

While my husband, all of his workers and the president of his company were in the audience oh, and of course, my children. many people asked me if I thought about becoming a professional actor because they thought I did a phenomenal job. I’m a writer and a poet acting was never something I was interested in I Learned how to write for the movie script, but I never wanted to be an actress. I think the real Calen is in the words. The outcome sticks in my craw

This is not hyperbole

Is to create a world you want to make
Is to cut off your nose to spite your face

I’m not getting any younger
Yet still filled with this hunger

Building apprehension
Ignoring the weighted of contention

I would never fully rise to be celebrated
There is a better chance I would be humiliated.

Hesitation left an uneasy feeling ,
So many emotions, my heart wheeling

Excuses filled my mind
Any reason not to try, I could find

Throwing caution to the wind
Head first, Jump in , I will begin

My fingers, will hurt, bleed I might cry
Do or die I have to try

I will never be a virtuoso
What does it matter? What do I know?

In comparison My talent minuscule
Is this an exercise in being cruel?

The passion, I see in musician’s eyes
If I possess any at all its lies

it’s delusions of-grandeur
Time will tell this exercise is hell

Defeated before I’ve begun.
So many songs unsung

It’s near the top of my bucket list.
All my life I wished
Something I always wanted to learn
I need to have my turn

Armed with desire
My excitement could get much higher

Pushing all the negativity aside
I am ready for the wild ride

I took time researching;
Brand, quality ease of use
My plan seemed full proof

What instrument do I want to play?
I don’t know what to ask for what to say

Picking perfection with a novice brain
Price point these questions can drive me insane

Stay focused dedication, perseverance
A tutor, mentor, much needed guidance

It sits in the corner,
