A bevy of immigrants continually appear
Closer and closer they’re coming near
Now that they’re here;
Demanding rights as a citizen entitled to;
Housing jobs phone money
Stealing cars No ID Drivers license
  No car insurance or recourse
They are becoming a problem, a force

The refugee flow are camping along bike trails in parks by streams
California life is not what it seems

Even in the front of peoples homes
Take steal No apologies refusal to atone.
Home invasions knowing people there
They stay for days they don’t care

I was rattled by a group of ragged men who didn’t even try to hide their face
Whatever it takes to create their space

Robbery demanding money, car keys.
Hands up get on your knees
Rain snow cold and wet
They take what they can get.

Every day more are coming
Apartments Full No room at the Inn
Bad to worse This situation is A NO win
Bureaucrats did not stop to contemplation
California State our cities in damnation

The food banks are empty
No longer a state of plenty
Pharmacy’s medications empty gone
Drug companies ran out what’s going on?

Hospitals, emergency room 24 hour wait
Immigrants use as urgent care
Rashes flu common cold
Aches and pains from being oldy
While real emergencies people dying
To treat an earache children crying

Giving from the heart, it’s a start
Eat a bit lighter so you can share part
Winter Elements are brutal
Tents, tarps boxes, shelters futile

Giving we learn to make due
Blankets, gloves, scarves sweaters, too
Most of us have an extra or a few
Snow Coats we never wear share

Become a target if you just help One
They swarm, grabbing tell you have none
Enough for few not for many
Shoestring budget life, pinching Penny

What would you do if you were starving?

Retrospect
CJ Sutherland Nov 12
Once a good opinion is lost
You never get it back
My husband and I met
A Lady with two dogs
while walking our dog

A new found friendship
Our friendship was inchoate
Vague still developing,
Not precisely clear
Enigmatic equivocal

Yes, I really enjoyed having a new friend
There were little warning signs
Little bark a little bite I paid no mind
She Lived alone, very lonely.
She asked for my number right away

A couple weeks past without incident
One day out of the blue, A text message
Saying mean angry things hard to hear
Some truth ,I immediately Apologized
I am sorry for having offended you.
That was not my intent.
I’m quick to call for a truce
an inferred armistice

She persisted, bullying controlling
in such a way Admonishing My behavior
Per decorum my way is to stay quiet
Mole over Contemplate Simmer
Let the immediate Intensity, die down
Hold my tongue don’t trade insult to injury
What did I do wrong? I was confused, hurt

She interpreted my silence
as me ignoring her feelings
demanded confrontation text ranting
Grew, Bolder The intensity increased
Do you realize your behavior?
It’s really rude, you need to modify your behavior, extremely disrespectful maybe your husband doesn’t care you treat him that way, but it bothers me that you do
Your husband hardly speaks.
(Well, that’s his way he listens).

Incessantly repeating
You need to modify your behavior.
You need a course correction
You’re rude controlling
Do you realize what you were doing?
I forgive you, BUT, IF
I decide to still walk with you

I you NEED you to Acknowledge your faults modify your behavior. She continued
You need a course correction
I tried to tell you what I’m going through but you didn’t hear me so I stopped trying.

Both my husband and I knew nothing of
what she claimed not an inkling
Thanking time apart, to cool the feelings
I countered with
well we’ll see you when we see you.
That was met with
Now you’re controlling
making your own plans
You need a course correction

I felt Backed in a corner to continue
a friendship with land mines IF I don’t talk then I’m brooding, sulking acting wounded IF
I talk unknown pitfalls land mines. It will
Happen again she’ll Explode blows up.

My only recourse end this tumultuous situation. My husbands thinks perhaps
she might be bipolar or worse
He had dealt an unstable ex girlfriend

I am extremely unsettled by this situation
I pressed to find out what I did stupidly
Thinking, rational conversation could fix it

The main offense  was speaking when she was talking, I think at times we all do that
But I generally liked her and listen to everything she said. I gave her things
A coat for her dog it didn’t fit my dog

She has an ex-husband, their seven-year battle in court the adult children, all sided with the father. I did not want to know more. in retrospect perhaps she wanted to tell me The sorted details. I’m not a gossipy person, and I don’t dwell in the past. My husband and I were content with the hi, by light hearted friendship we have developed

when she tried to pit my husband and I against each other that was the dealbreaker
I hope she’s OK. I generally care for her well-being, but there are limits. I don’t wish Ill-will I will be courteous, passing her in public, but we made The right call
I’m hard-pressed to know if I’m trying to convinced you or myself I am unsettled why

Walking in the park is my time with God
I just want to walk my dog in prayer.
Smiling at friendly faces everywhere
I’m hard-pressed to know if I’m trying to convince you or me I am unsettled why!

Footnotes
This situation has weighed heavy on my heart. Do you think somebody would think so little of me. I’m not perfect. I have faults but I really was trying to help a lady who had no electricity lived on her own and walked 2 1/half miles just to go to the park with her two dogs. She looked underweight and was struggling financially. I trying to help her look to her as if I was trying to control her. If I spoke and she felt she was still talking about some thing I could work on. That probably goes back to being one of the kids. But it was not intentional. Maybe I apologize too quickly. I’m just not interested in confrontation, but I miss my friend Even. each day, I would call her to see what time she was gonna walk her dog to her that was like really controlling the situation, but I was willing to change my schedule to work around her schedule. Although there were times when my husband said no, we’re going now. I think that bothered her. That was the iceberg the tip of the iceberg. As it is.
All of this silly drama unfolded while we were on 20 minute walk today and that was the extent of our interaction. It was always platonic superficial. It’s hard to take a deep look at yourself see what you could’ve done to super vent the situation. my husband on the other hand says he knew something was off from the beginning. Why didn’t I say that I thought I had a new friend

The Music In You
We were a traveling choir
1st Sopranos sang higher

Our harmony, so precise
Our sound could entice

Getting older Time to retire
Voices others respect admire

We had different goals In the end
We understood musical notes transcend

Romance Of Music in our soul
That feeling in a song will never let go

It’s an experience to remember
Especially the concerts in December

We all sang a cappella
18 voices looking for our fella

Inspired song;

The music in you
By John Denver

Footnote
This is John Denver’s
shortest song at 56 seconds.
This song has the most profound
effect over my entire life;

“ Music makes pictures,
and often tells stories
All of its magic, and all of its true
and all of the pictures and all of the stories all of the magic the music is you“

That’s it. The entire song
It’s song twice
It’s worth listening to and then
Perhaps you’ll understand what I mean.
BLT Webster’s Word of the Day
A cappella 11-6-24
Singing without instrumental, music

My stepsister was a coloratura
She took voice lessons to train her voice to be able to break a glass.  She had a gift and didn’t care. There’s not that many soprano Coloraturas in the world. it’s truly something to behold ..
I was told I had a beautiful voice,
but it pales into comparison to your sister.

I was in the elite group for six years. we travel to different places for competition competing against other a cappella choirs
But unless you had a voice like my stepsister, you’re not going to really got anywhere
with your music.
In high school, the school drama class did the play of West side story, and of course the actress could not sing. So I was off in the wings singing this songs, and she was mouthing the songs  as if she was singing... because she was in drama, and I was only in choir. I thought it was so silly because they were doing musicals. But I never wanted to be an actress then. later in college, I did star in a musical my first, and only time on stage .the bug did not bite me. I couldn’t wait to get off stage, but it was cool to have a standing ovation in a packed auditorium.
I also sang , The star spangle banner at graduation.I was an instructor. 5000 people three-story auditorium, quite amazing place. I was nervous.. I have had many adventures.
I could defined my life through Music Define moments in time. define moments in time. I could hear a song, and it will take me back to an epic Life eventsmarked by music.

Golf and Stuff
In college, I  started golfing
I thought it would help my swing
Course correction I didn’t learn a thing
I gained more bad habits in between

Golf was created within Love, and hate
Many emotions to communicate investigate
Poetic words flow, negate the verse
Continually modifying and rehearse

The most elusive game you’ll ever play
Golf can make or break your day
Transfixed Frustrating, irritating time
Completing a great game is sublime

Learn and grow as you go
You’ll never learn everything to know
My dismay recalling a friend’s worst day
Disaster hit at the first hole sandpit the grid

By hole 5 his game sunk skunk pound sand
On the Golf cart a hotdog in his hand
An Eagle swooped down, taking
The Hotdog and bun from his mouth
The Eagle flew Heading Due south.

Yelling and screaming as if that
Would make the bird give his hotdog back
Lunacy, frustration, humiliation on track
He threw his lunch sack at the Bird
You had to be there The picture was absurd

Washing down a beer tremble in fear
He’d never experienced a big bird so near
The back nine would be better get in gear
Both ***** hit the water in the drink
This is when he should’ve stopped to think

One could see the blood boil in his eyes
What came next was no big surprise
Third ball hit the water in the drink
Throwing his monogram bag,&clubs in a
Blink watched them slowly sink sink sink

That was it. His day was done
Under the Beauty of the setting sun
The golf course Won, took its toll
That Fateful day He lost a bit of his soul

The profanity filled the air
Decorum lost he didn’t care
Golf and stuff Fished out the clubs and bag
Shining with mud The Gold monogram tag
Other golfers ***** filled the leather bag sag

He cut off his nose to spite his face
He never went back there saving grace
Never retrieved his bag it was tainted
The leather colors ran together painted

As to his set up a second gift from Daddy
Son “Next time use a Caddy!”

This actually really happened we’re not sure if it was an eagle or a hawk. The wing spans are nearly the same, and they both would be almost equally as large. It happened so quickly it was hard to know for sure. But it was unusual for this to happen in Southern California. In northern California, it’s a common occurrence to see large birds.

What’s the purpose of Halloween
Trick-or-treat costume parties make a scene
Scary Jack-o’-lanterns carved faces
Placing them in their houses open spaces
Something wicked, this Way COMES

The original traditions were generated in Ireland and Scotland they carved grins
Scary faces in turnips and potatoes,
Then put them in the windows
To ward off evil spirits and stringy jack.
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Why is Halloween an evil night
The dead rises from there, tombs
What is the purpose of the costumes?
Getting dressed up to
Symbolically disguise oneself
As a way to ward off evil spirits
Something wicked, this Way COMES

An ancient tradition, Celtic people
believed there is a thin vail between
The living, and the dead Halloween night
The veil is at its thinnest sight
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Spirits pass-through roaming the world
Wearing costumes was a way to avoid
Being recognized by the spirits
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Today the true meaning is mostly seen as a fun way to express oneself act out, fantasies
Dressing as a favorite character or creature
Satan successfully lulled the sheep to sleep
His greatest sick trick  He doesn’t exist
Something wicked, this Way COMES

While people argue, it doesn’t say anything In the Bible about Halloween, it does say Christians are carefully instructed to
NOT participate in any pagan way
When somebody tells a lie enough
It’s marginalized becoming the truth
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Blinded by an Illusion of Halloween fun
These traditions prove people in the world
Know evil exist. They celebrate the dead
It’s all around us, in the movies we watch
When wrong is right and right is wrong.
It’s in our music it’s in our songs
Something wicked, this Way COMES

And the Satanic natures on TV we are
Mesmerized by death destruction, **** ***
We feed on Fear, hatred for entertainment.
We feel it in the air. We feel it everywhere.
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Hallowed ground is no longer sacred
People don’t believe anything anymore
Satan, is living laughing in delight
On this wicked Halloween night
Trick or treat when all practice to deceive
Is your candy safe to eat do you believe?
Something wicked this Way is Here FEAR

Was it the 60s maybe not, hard to find
Every decade marked with decline.,
Further still. I recollect, through crime
The ever changing new, tragedies of time
I begin to realize societies realign

Dates back to Genesis, Adam, and Eve, when men first practice to deceive.
Humanity lived in a bubble,
seemingly without much trouble

Slowly society grew steadily worse.
No moral values, paychecks in the purse.
Society drove God from government,
From schools paradigm shift permanent

Society took away all of God‘s rules.
Government marketplace the schools
God doesn’t stay where he is not wanted
God allowed Satan to begin the haunted

The hedge of protection, God pulled away. Man no longer heard what God had to say
***** and Gomorrah deception grew
****** Deviance all day, they knew

2023 marked a year of unveiling.
Starving people depravity wailing
Pulling back the curtain of government lies
God No longer hears the people’s cries

Plan death destruction One World Order
People who own property called hoarders
Elderly disabled are called useless eaters
Deadweight wife beaters ignorant cheaters

They no longer contribute to society
They should consider Dr. Kevorkian suicide
Two million people have to go, **** die
They drain society a sacrifice is necessary
The final count is arbitrary

No longer a contributor worker secondary
Disabled children, and mentally unsound
next on the list. Life support Shut down. Mental hospitals, out of business close
patients tossed on the ground in town

Our cities are turning into one large psychiatric crockpot. Church must go gone
80% of the churches today get it wrong
We’ll know them by their works Rev2,3

Evil will come from the pulpit
The devil appears as an angel of light
Preachers  arrested for keeping their church open. looters and shooters roam

Books are banned. They don’t want people to think they want them weak.
We are on the brink of a civil revolution,
the start of the tribulation throughout the
nation around the world.

Keep your eye on Israel the middle east that’s where you will see the rise of the beast. Then tribulation begins against man’s sins Rise of One world order
One world religion many indecision.

The Holy Roman Empire will rise again
They will be the super power of the world. America will be taken down from within, perhaps by Russia or Chinese. Too many enemy Influences to know for sure who

The Bible tells us America. Will be overrun by a country who does not speak our language.know the signs. we will  not know the day or time Tribulation begins

we will know the season. By what happened before, so shall it happen again yet worse. We know what plagues will come. Revelation, chapter 8 through 13

True Christians have a place through all of this we should not be afraid, spiritual bliss. So remember this if you are a Christian or Jew Who’ll be martyred murdered, one day,

pray for intercession, the Holy Spirit will know what to say. Remember, you are blessed. In the end God owns your soul Jesus died for your sins,

The Abrahamic faiths conceived God as an omniscient creator. The angels ready to pour out judgment, were stopped for 30 minutes while the heads of the elect were sealed. God’s, 144,000. The Holy Spirit will speak God’s word through their mouths.

I watched this documentary called God and country on Tubi. it’s about Christian nationalism and the separation between church and state. It’s a very interesting dichotomy to polarization both ways. It’s tearing our nation apart. It’s alarming. it’s eye-opening I will vote the lesser of two evils, separate church and government. Religion for political gain, conservative, talk versus Christian teaching .Christian nationalism. Polarization of our country in the den of iniquity. I’m beginning to really see both sides. We are definitely at a precipice The breaking point of our country i’ve never been a joiner, one group or the other I just blew look to God individually and seek wisdom. this experiences has taught me to evaluate what exactly I believe, and where my values lie. I am an optimist. I don’t believe in secular religion. I used to until I saw the corruption. I am a child of God.. May God have mercy on our souls

I had a jar full of nickels as a tribute to my furthered education and for my fathers inspiration. Euphoria 10-25-24
Refers to a feeling of great happiness and excitement in town, feeling floating on air

When I take communion, something comes over me. My soul weeps deep inside I cry. And I pray for the world. For world is peace. A. Euphoria comes over me as the Holy Spirit washes away, my repentance and my prayers with the blessing of pure Bless. This feeling is known to last for the rest of the day. People would say oh you’re crying can I help you and when I push them away and say I am in Bliss they want to rub my arm as  if My euphoria will rob off on them.
Oh people of little faith.

In the 1980s this was a very real thing for me. I was engaged to a VP of a film company who dealt in foreign distribution he was the money man. The one who got the budget for a movie.as I got to know him I realize that I was just his little trophy we have been together a little over a year. I think he was impressed with the fact that I saw him as a man not a star or something more. I was never one of those fans who went after the stars..
Although I learned a lot about writing screenplays, reading Scripps and the business
All of the lavish parties
All that glitters is not gold.
I remember a young Tom Hanks The movie bachelor party He was an unknown then.
always a party at the end of the day, basically when you watch the dailies
of what was shot that day.
I knew what everybody’s salary on that  film.
. It was part of the budget . Its star gets paid based on their rating. For example, if you’re a blockbuster, you have an A rating .
This was a low budget movie.
This guy came up and said
if I sleep with him, he’ll make me a star
I laughed. He was barely more than an extra.
I said you be nice to me I might be your
boss one day. Then I walked away.
That’s when I realized I was not going to be anybody’s arm candy.
I gave;back his ring and kissed him. Goodbye. I met him years later he still wanted to continue a relationship I had moved on, but we were friends.

For protests by illegals to transform

Most Americans live in a bubble
They sense it, but don’t realize the trouble

Will America be taken to her knees

Standing at a precipice watchers once more

California has a couple of measures on the ballot. One of them is for additional education funding they say it’s for making better buildings. However prop 98 was put into law that required California to use 40% of their budget on education and repairs. Now they’re asking for another 10 billion in bond, bonds are paid back with interest over 35 years so the return is 18 billion. We already owe 98 billion debt to big banks and investors. California doesn’t know how to manage your money. I’ve also observed a decline in enrollment from all grades. people leaving California.. what’s  alarming is there’s three bills that the Republicans say it’s a good thing we should vote for them. However, if you look a little further, those three are back by the Democrats auspicious and they’re the worst thing you would ever read let alone want to vote for. a”I don’t care who is promoting it. People should not take the quick version or sound bites and read between the lines. because this election really matters. we are electing three board members for the Board of Education. The next person brought a gun to work to show the other people( on the board of education( there’s a legal suit for that. Embezzlement it’s Cray crazy. I was hard-pressed to find one person out of the list with any Recognition of normality. No wonder our schools are messed up. it doesn’t matter what the position is it matters no more funding for schools. They Don’t teach our children reading, writing, and arithmetic, especially when they already have appropriate funding to do so and they’re not doing it. No more bills imposed laws that is supposed to make the government not spend inappropriately. Give them more money because they didn’t do it the first time. Color me frustrated. The Fugacious hurricane came and went
Useless helpless frustration spent.
The power of prayer Was in the air
Swirling Destruction everywhere

I know better than to worry
Life is always in a hurry
Florida’s Milton hurricane
Had my emotions insane

Predicted to be in the path way
Evacuation at all costs, they say
Phone numbers on your body pray
To notify next to kin if you stay

Predicted a category five house ******
It turned out to be category 3 pretender
15 to 17 ‘ water surge and flooding
Was mild mostly an accumulation of mud

by the grace of God, it grew in size
20 miles north  October surprise
A much wider hurricane appeared
Relief for some Florida’s shift of fears

That’s not to say some were worse for wear
Most Lost power, High winds House, tares
My grandson felt underwhelmed
No Gas he had to stay prayed at the helm

Extreme Wind and Rain Power out
Craziest worry turned to relief doubt
Was this as bad as it will get
Guesstimates It all fell short

All the media hype predictions fizzled
The hurricane rain turned to drizzle
The aftermath clean up will take awhile
People emerged tears grateful smile

Internet Vandalism
CJ Sutherland Oct 13
7 AM this morning the Internet went out.
Streaming TV stopped iPhone too.
All day long, Internet outage wreaked havoc on the shops in the city.

Stores could not process ATM cards
Banks could not give you any money
Incoming outgoing calls dropped
We don’t realize how dependent we are

Spectrum, quoted verbatim
Internet disrupted in Redding due to vandalism. Spectrum confirms.
This is the second time in three months

Spectrum Internet down, in Shasta County
they continue “our fiber lines were cut
this morning as a result of vandalism in Redding. Affecting communities through

Shasta County. Due to the vandalism we
had to repair more than 850 strands of fiber optics to restore our service. Outage from
7 AM fully Restored 4:30 PM”

I speculate This experiment was an exercise
The effects of pulling down just Internet,
without taking out the power.
Without Internet use, the city fell

The funny thing is, the three notifications I received from Spectrum. I did not get until after the Internet was fully restored.
Not trying to be a conspiracy theories

One cannot help but wonder if this has anything to do with voting early?
Or was this a trial run for
a bigger outage on election day?

Footnote
Vandalism took down our Internet both times for the greater part of 10 hours or more. We don’t realize how many things are connected to the Internet. All of our banking services, smart houses. The list goes on. Don’t wait till the last minute and then not be able to vote because the system is down. I think of all the States involved in these hurricanes and the voting polls are gone. I’ve always voted on election day but I’ll vote early this time to make sure my vote counts. The last election I got a notification voting paper registration for my father. Who passed away in 2015 I took the ballot into the booth and told then my father never lived here I was in charge of the estate don’t know why I would get  A Ballot for him in my jurisdiction he was from Southern California. They took the paperwork and I got a notice verifying he voted. Yes my dead father voted five years after he died. When I contacted them I was told oh it happens really
Maybe that’s why there’s so much disbelieve in The voting process, and in our government.
I haven’t given up, hope that we can make it a better system and a better government.

Expansion of Knowledge
CJ Sutherland Oct 12
We stand at the edge of time A precipice
We are the only generation
That is completely different than
Any previous generations

Our expansion of knowledge
In this generation and the things
That knowledge has made possible
Has literally put history on the fast track
Propelling us into the future

The Bible tells us the last generation
We’ll see a great increase of knowledge
Look at every previous generation
This generation has seen an exponential
Increase in knowledge that is unique

Daniel 12:4 oh, Daniel shut up the words,
And steal the book even to the time of the end; many shall run to and fro and
Knowledge shall increase KJV

From the time of Christ, until, 1750
Knowledge increased increased slowly
From 1750 to 1908 knowledge doubled
From 1900 to 1950 knowledge doubled

Now the expansion of knowledge,
The Things we know are accelerating at
A Faster rate, Buy an iPhone, it’s already obsolete they build a newer model

The same is true with the computer
The Internet, all new inventions
AI is a perfect example as AI rises
Man, obsolete idle without a purpose

A self learning computer will completely
double its knowledge every 18 months
Very soon it will be smarter than man
Will the computer see man as the threat?

What are we Transitioning evolving into?
Will we still be human or cyborg hybrid?
Just because we can create something
Ethically morally, responsibly should we?

Prosthetics implants new heart, Hips knees
Regenerating skin tissue, IVF, embryo
Computer chip to enhance the brain
At what point did we cross that line?

All in the name of New Improved Better
We have the capacity to make children, outside of the womb. A perfect child.
Who decides, rights to our body humanity

We’re scapegoats, toes over the ledge

My grandson A young adult 21 years old
Impetuous commanding, he can’t be told

No Gas they were not able to evacuate
Imminent, evacuate notice Monday 5 PM.

The first alert notifying residence of Charlotte, Florida of the hurricane warning

and storm surge warning went out via

The hurricane warning said the impact

Right now it is a category 3.In some places in Tampa Clearwater, 12 to 18” rain faces

Flash flooding. After the storm passes. Surge will come. Debris in the water

The most dangerous part of a hurricane

No emergency services can be dispatched with the wind that’s over 45 mph

For the next few hours, winds will pick up
Eerie quiet in the eye of the storm

My grandson and his wife in port Charlotte

Praying that they will Live through this

The highest and alert/flooding
When flooding is life-threatening

Unable to reach him worry set in
Heart pounding unable to help panic begin

I cried and prayed all night long
I needed to hear from them

I finally received a text from him
I could hear the smile in his voice

a perfect choice he said We are fine
It’s as if the Hurricane Pasted us by

Damaged houses on each side
He spent the night praying, God heard him

Dazed and Confused
Have you ever woke up thinking
you’re in Twilight zone
I fell asleep, slept hard
Woke up at 6:30

I jumped up out of bed.
I thought it was 6:30 AM.
Half asleep in a daze,
I was amazed

How did that happen?
I sat down in the living room,
turned on the news like usual for 5 AM
I don’t sleep more than two hours at a time

While eating breakfast I noticed
something was wrong I felt fuzzy, sleepy
I had missed the night pills
Plus I was late for my next set of pills.

That’s unusual I should be
hurting more but I wasn’t.
Pill rules never double up
Take your pills adjust the time

Staring at my pills late!
In my case it was two hours early
the fog slowly lifted, I began to reason
something was not right

I thought it was odd
the dog laid there, not moving,
even when I jumped out of bed
He didn’t even raise his head

But something felt wrong
The house still felt hot
I check the weather every morning
Cool morning usually Low 60°

88° that temperature was too hot
I stepped outside. It was dark.
7 o’clock it should be cool
And the sun should be shining

Did I descend into chthonic region ‘s
It was dark and I was little frightened
of what I might find smell of smoke linger
The glow of fire in distant hills

That was my first clue
I finished my cereal fully awake
I flew over the cuckoo’s nest
I’m the fool on the hill

I came to my senses
I think I always knew
The clock on the wall told it all
Crazy time spent, back to bed I went

Anatomy of Dying
CJ Sutherland Sep 29
Something wicked, this Way comes
When sadness surrounds the Doldrums

Melancholy’s bit is Bitter, Sweet
Looking for mom’s face on the street

Praying as a child to find her and care
Streets of LA, sea of empty faces , cold stare

It’s strange, What we hold onto, cherish
Reminisce, of a loved one who perished

Unfinished business, Hardens the heart
Moments before, we were pulled apart

We find Silent comforts to cradle our mind
Where’d we come from what did we find?

Dealing with death’s passages of times
Needing help with our imaginary crimes

The first person I ever knew who died
She was 46 years young, my soul cried

My beloved mother Throat Cancer
Disenchanted asked God for the answer

Each second Every breath More Shallow
Then the one before, her face Hollow

Questioning The last time for this or that
Lapse memory, The Last time I fed her cat

Yet I never really paid attention
The uneasy emotions we never mention

Now, I pay attention to the smallest details
beauty in rain in hail that clean wet smell

The last thing  I’ll ever mention
Having your full undivided attention

Mom needed all her children near
Leaving earth the biggest unknown fear

Feckless children weren’t around
Couldn’t be bothered wouldn’t be found

What to expect on the other side
Her guardian angel her ethereal Guide

Three days before mom died (her and I)
We were sitting on corner curb outside

Her words were soft, gentle and kind
I don’t worry about you in my mind

You’re like a cat You’ll have many lives
You’ll land on your feet not on the street

Her voice grew intense serious and brave
Listen to me Don’t go to my grave

You need to realize I won’t be there
Find comfort with others Grieve elsewhere

She knew in the crevices of her head
Funerals are for the living not the dead

Pretentious, pompous circumstance
Don’t cry a pity party, Sing and Dance

A gentle smile graced her face
Her wisdom a tear stain trace

Find something Spectacularly brilliant
That will remind you of me resilient

A remembrance you’ll see
put it in your house, There I’ll Be

I found a clear quartz crystal cat with claws
Amethyst heart Dangled between its paws

Daily Family walks Nonchalantly By
A dust collector they see with a naked eye

I see life’s memories in vivid detail
Mother’s Grim Reaper rang her bell

Songs of morning and say goodbye. These are sacred so you don’t need to be religious to have a song universally touch your heart and touch your soul. Each one of these songs has a backstory of death and dealing with that pain. If you listen to the backstory on each of those songs, you’ll hear this song differently. This is why, when I read poetry, I always want to hear the backstory I get a wealth of information, and a deeper understanding of the poem and poet.

I was so young I thought she died any time I would mention her I would get a kick in the shin or a elbow in my stomach, learn later, my older siblings in life are now the truth. My younger brother and I did not until I was 10 years old. She tried to see his children. Mother said no I asked my sister who is that person and a small boy she said mom. I prayed every day to God. When I’m a grown-up, let me find her and let her know I care and she made a good person . Grandma (her mother) wanted me to take up with a private investigators left off after seven years of searching for her. (grandma was dying )They had some leads I was 20 years old. I found my mother when I was 21. I had been to every Alley in Skid Row and places young women should not go alone. I had a friend at know downtown LA the roughnecks. The last place of all the places we had been for months with a thrift store women shelter For personal necessities. I showed the photo went through this story to my surprise. The lady clerk pointed to the back of the room.
I took my mother home. I thought she’d be living with me now not on the street but on the third day, she said, I have to go home or they will give my room away she actually was living in a Victorian hospice with Catholic nuns. The headmistress came and asked me if I knew what was going on. Of course I did not because mom didn’t tell me. She told my mom was dying . she only had three months  to live. I prayed just let her be alive. I didn’t pray for more. God gave her to me, and then he took her away. I was angry for a long time. And then I realized God gave me three month to love and be a peace complete unfinished business. It Took me a long time to find my way back to Jesus . so when you see a homeless person , that’s a mother or father, uncle a grandma or grandpa those are people. Some of my family could not make peace with things until they knew she was dying. It was sickening toward my mom didn’t care about going to rodeo drive. They wanted to put a huge angel statue over her grave $25,000 a time ago I said no give the money to the nuns.

Adventure land

When the grand kiddos were little
We’d dream, big eating Rainbow skittles

Illuminating adventures in their mind
Telling fantastical story, to Unwind

They had a room in Nana and Papa‘s home
It was an imaginary place to freely Rome

One year it was the Pirates of the Caribbean
A bunkbed ship top bunk for lookout see’n

large canvas sail and fishnet to the ceiling
Glow paint the night stars realistic feeling

The captains quarters maps for steering
A talking parrot for laughter cheering

Imagination is in the minoot details
Starfish, sharks barnacle on the side rails

Looking at the finished room created
Pirate ship, Sea foam walls, stars stated

Three boys, chose pirate names
For nightly stories are pirate games

Parents  never cool Nana the exception
Mother of invention, honorable mention

Bubble bath ink octopuses perils at sea
Captain jack to the rescue them three

Sleepy time, tea on the Shanghai express
Sail north to dreamland pirates , PJs dress

The story began each pirate made it grand
Ship battles buried treasure in white sand

Imagination fizzled started to fade
An epic Story completed well played

Listen, while the cobwebs feel their head
Prayers said success they’re asleep in bed
Reminiscent Peter Pan and Captain Hook
As they grew, it was super heroes. But each time that room was transformed into The Batt cave , the avengers command center and many other wonderful adventures to be had. Building the room was half the fun. We built it together

Turn coats on the run
Votes up in the air
Undecided everywhere
What will it take to cross the line?

Those who want to turn
Back the hands of Time
Leisurely Sit on their rocking chairs
Afternoons, a gentle breeze, sublime

Decades of time watching the sunset
We honestly no longer can say no regret
Optimism for our future, slowly fades
Reluctantly, we Turn another page

Our world is turned upside down
It’s precarious in our sleepy town
For fun, kids use to drive around
The last bit of fun that can be found

Gang violence overrun, tent cities
They don’t want American’s pities
A heinous Cold Civil War begun
Death to America Everyone

They Demand reparations our homes jobs
Third world Country behavior, Macabre
Noncitizens hell bent on nefarious intent
Ammunition spent police came and went

Situational awareness danger can be bad
Hazardous to fly the American flag
Reminiscent of the freedoms

Turning point in this world today
Down on our knees, we pray
What society will do to our kids
Satanic minions grasp first bids

Teaching kids today Little Jack Horner
Evil lurking behind every corner
Come out Come out, lets play
Not to worry it will be OK
You won’t be missed anyway

Mathematics is now racist they say
Slowly taking all our freedoms away
How could this possibly be? Well, Let’s see
(2+2 = 3 ) two plus two equals three

Dumb the children to submission
Using warped basic edition,
But why? First lesson NEVER question
I Will pay you $10 for a days work

I say $4  is ten all subserviently Believe
Old folk No Joke know they’re deceived
Younger generations obediently receive
Too many people in this world no reprieve

You will Own nothing and you’ll like it
Dystopian world rapidly grows submit
Older generations must be downsized
The beginning Eugenic’s selection demise

They keep the youth Trainable less Wise
Crazy but true read with communist eyes
******’s Mein Kampf, Marxist manifesto
History Books Bibles literature all must go

We live in a bubble play the fool
No more need for propaganda school
Not realizing We are in their control
Planned pandemics maintain the death toll

Down on our knees, we please
Obedient servants appease
We can recoup control slim margin of error
Americans looking in the face of terror

Close as two sisters can be
Sister Sue and Mary Lou you’ll see
They grew together then went their way
Bound by emotion. A hug is all they say.

Sister, Sue, and Mary Lou
Twins, lives in twined they grew
They held each other, love and Tears
Streamed through their eyes mixed fears

Every day they spoke on the telephone
Keeping in touch, never felt alone
They mostly got along hardly fought
To find husbands is what they thought

Sister, Sue, and Mary Lou
Were each other’s glue
Boyfriends came and went
Their emotions slowly spent

Even though they lived apart
Relationships shaped The same heart
Couplings unsustainable they’ll broke
Praying perfect companion heaven spoke

A tragic way for sister Sue, and Mary Lou
Destined to be just them too
The closest Bond of love, they knew
They wanted more then sad depressed blue

Time marched by sister, Sue, and Mary Lou
Realized love was not meant to be
If one in love, not the other, Three off-kilter
Through rose colored glasses Jaded filter

It was to be for all to see An emptiness
Brewing in them a deep sadness
This insuperable story of twins,
Who achieved A great deal,

Because they never gave up
They never gave in, they Believed

Baja California along the coast,
a little fishing village Loretto

White Seashell, Sand
I walked along the beach

Everybody was out fishing
to get the catch of the day

I Decided to cool off in the sea
Water Waste high slow Delicate stokes

The taste of salt in the air
Schools of fish everywhere

Bumping, kissing all over my body
Passing by calmly without fear

First, I was afraid I couldn’t move
Until I realized they weren’t piranhas

I enjoyed the majestic
Ambience of the moment

I swim with the fishes
Staying among them

As soon as they came
They were gone

I want to thank Ben Noah Suresh

Walking down a desolate street they have a beer exchange.. Turn in two empty bottles and they give you one bottle of beer. The Federale ( police) was walking by, and he took the **** of his resolver and opened our beers. There was an American building a bar. He told us no permits were necessary just a lot of bribe money to get the necessary  permits fast. he offered us lunch. He had a goat leg draining in the back. They take turns having their full Unphased by passing cars. They fiercely guard their food. Amazingly, the smell of a dead animal is completely gone before they leave. this took two days before they were onto the next meal.

I’ve been pondering this concept for a couple of weeks now. A man behind me at the grocery store had one item. I let him go in front of me, and he was very grateful. I had quite a few things, and I wasn’t in a hurry. He grabbed a few things at the register like most of us do. We got to talking how most people say negative things, and they don’t bother the time to say thank you or a simple kindness. Then when his change came, he told the checker to give it to me one good turn deserves another. He sad smiling. This was a man late 60s early 70s.. He was wearing a Taco Bell apron, ( probably on a break or lunch ) and he gave me his change!

Ethos 9-10-24
Means the guiding beliefs of a person, group or organization
An idiom
Is an expression in the usage of language that is peculiar in of itself.
In having a meaning that cannot be derived from the conjoined words.

Introduction to poetry states;
Avoid Clichés, like the plague
Using idiomatic phrases in poetry
is usually not advisable.

Let’s run through a few;

Let’s cut the suit to fit the cloth
Action speaks louder than words
A penny for your thoughts
A penny saved is a penny earned

At the drop of a hat
Curiosity killed the cat
Better late than never
Out of the frying pan into the fire

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
Once in a blue moon
I’m live’n high cotton
Hang in there

Let’s get the show on the road
No time like the present,
Let’s not split hairs
On a wild goose chase

Bite the bullet
No guts, no glory
Don’t beat around the bush
I’ll Spill the beans

Under the weather
Your Barking up the wrong tree
It’s raining cats and dogs,
Your bark is worse than your bike

Break a leg
Insult to injury
Don’t stab me in the back
Idioms stick out like a sore thumb

Are you beginning to see the light?

I’m on a roll
A Rolling Stone gathers no moss
Killing two birds with one stone
Hiding in plain sight

Speak of the devil
Come Hell or High water
The devil is in the details
Going down in flames

A blessing in disguise
Don’t count the chickens before they hatch
Go Back to the drawing board
I’ll cross that bridge when we get to it

Not your cup of tea
*** calling the kettle black
Jump on the bandwagon
Throw caution to the wind

Every cloud has a silver lining
Get your head out of the clouds
On cloud nine
Walking on thin ice

Cut me some slack
Get off my back
Let me off the hook
I Finished by the skin of my teeth

I hit the nail on the head
My mind running a million miles a minute
A mind, is a terrible thing to waste
Waste not want not

It’s up in the air
Throw the baby out with the bathwater
Let’s call a today
It’s time to hit the sack

If you could read my mind
By Gordon Lightfoot
When I was at the University, clichés
were drilled in our head as faux pas
A respectable poet does not put in poetry.
As an older student who always questioned absolutes, I had to ask why?
What about free verse poetry
I was told even in the lack of structure is structure it depends on what kind of poet you want to be
I considered the source. My professors all had
10 year. In both American and British literature
. I heard the phrase many times in these classes; rules are not meant to be broken.
But the whole purpose of traditional poetry is that there are rules that make each type of poem what it is. That’s why I love poetry,
The structure.
But it is good to be bad sometimes lol
This is my rebellion poem

Isaac Means Laughter

Today is their Wedding Day
This poem is a celebration of their life
To Isaac and Jessica

They met at a her sister’s wedding
A festive occasion, A beautiful setting
Love at first sight he was smitten
She was as sweet as a baby kitten

From the moment they met,
He never wanted to leave her side
Love has taken them on a wild ride
Emotions in Full display, they don’t hide

May They walk a path together I pray
Young to make a commitment this way
Yes, I took those steps younger still
Time values different I had a strong will

I want him to understand what it takes
I want them to learn from my mistakes
But those are their mistakes to make
Save me a piece of the wedding cake

I remember in my arms he wiggled
Nana kept him safe belly laugh giggled
First the Grand gesture, he takes her hand
When a boy becomes a grown man

The proposal Down on Bended Knee
Grins from ear to ear Happy as they can be
His heart pounding out of his chest
Tongue tied words failed. He did his best.

Wedding Day, He and She became we
A shindig excitement and fear we’ll see
Waiting at The altar, for his bride
They will learn to find their own stride

Together in front of God, they stand
Wedding ceremony completes God‘s plan
The last covenant Between God and man
Life Commitment Full circle Time span
