Aspiring Doctor
D'Arcy Sahn Jan 2015
Everybody has their story
I want to here them all at once
To feel them all at once
With a curious disconnect
A clinical warmth
To compartmentalize with a surgeon's precision
Then when my heart is full,
Burst open and bathe everyone in empathy
But not emotion
I used to be good at listening to the struggles of others, but my mind seems to have lost some of its elasticity. I just want to understand what others going through, but be able to know when I need to disconnect for my sake.

Now I Lay You Down to Rest
D'Arcy Sahn Jan 2015
Sarcasm is anger in disguise
Cynical wit turned into lies
Cutting and burning bridges and ties
Until I feel too hollow to even rise

Bluntness is a wonderful gift
A symptom of an allergy to *******
Used by people used to grit
But optimistic enough to love it
Apparently sarcasm is anger disguised as humour. I don't want to be angry, I just want to make ****** jokes.

Truth or Dare
D'Arcy Sahn Jan 2015
You'd love to learn my secret
And I would tell you what it is
But to make and admission I would regret
Would require me to emit it exists

It's not that I don't want to tell you
I'm desperate to drop the facade
But it has less gravity than the potential ridicule
So please continue to think me odd

I'm worried about the rationalizations
That I'll be told I'm confused and it's just a phase
And since I've not confirmed these realizations
Hidden I have stayed

Truth or Dare is a ***** to play
When you can't tell friends from foes
It's even worse, having to guard what you say
Concealing the agro
Constructive Criticsm appreciated. Truth or Dare! Because there is no greater source of fun than confronting your fears in the presence of people who wish to judge you harshly. Make sure to bring your friends!!!

It seems impossible to articulate
The specific degree of hate
I feel for what I'm not
My musings leave me distraught
I feel unable to change my fate.

I fear becoming the person
Who's mind just seems to worsen
That has lost the ability to grow
Creativity under the nuclear snow
Swept away by fear and coercion

I look now at what I've created
The only one by whom I'll be berated
Sees only mediocrity
I already regret this atrocity
I'll only ever hate it
Constructive criticism appreciated. I hate feeling uncreative, and I suppose this was just my attempt to create something for the sake of proving that I can.

The Buzz
D'Arcy Sahn Nov 2014
The Buzz
Makes me warm
Daring
I can take on the world
I no longer care about
What others think

It's just me

My fun

Not my sighs

But it always leaves

And the emptiness returns with a vengeance

And I doubt that things will ever change
But hope always floods my mind
It charges and builds up
Trapped in my own head yet free
And it makes my soul vibrate

And I get The Buzz

Pathway
D'Arcy Sahn Nov 2014
What were my goals born of?
Desire for more,
The feeling I would die if I didn't follow them
The knowledge that I can acheive them
The idea that this is what I was born to do?

Or am I just to scared to persue
What I wabt to do?
Will I ever be brave enough to figure it out?

Nightmares
D'Arcy Sahn Nov 2014
Nightmares don't scare me.
Confrontation slays all the thoughts,
That plague me,
That make me anxious,
That shrink to nothing.
So I wage a war everyday
On my insecurities and the reality
That all hate is based in some miniscule truth.
On my side are rationalizations
And obvious evidence against my stupid fears.
But some day
I won't be able fight them off
And my own thoughts will end me

Now that's scary.
Constructive Criticism Appreciated.

Reign
D'Arcy Sahn Nov 2014
I hear a drum beat from afar
It articulates the things I can't explain
Pent up angst, a passive-rebellious heart
It keeps me from going insane

But i can still hear it
Does that mean I'm insane
And I now and I can see it
The musical quirk that launches my
Reign

I can hear the harmony
The joyous accompany my strain
The words seem to escape me
But they sing inside my brain

Cause I can still hear you
You scream for me to ignore the rain
I'm starting to fear you
Cos you might launch me to that plane

Oh why
Can't I let you free?
Because
This forgettable melody
Is the
Reason I pause between sleep
That hope
I'm scared I'll no longer keep

I can see it now
The things that ties me to this place
If I escape it, how
Will I ever look at my face

I don't want to hear you
You want me to follow my dreams
Unless they don't suit you

Cos it's all about you

I can't run from you

Please let me run from you
I would love to hear any thoughts and interpretations. Constructive criticism welcome.

Love Story
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
Once upon a time
Two people fell in love
But they world not tell each other
For fear of being rejected.

They passed each other in the halls
Pretended not to inspect each others faces
Ignored the dreams that permeated the subconscious
Refused to truly fall

Then they were both hit by a train.

The End.
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
You are sweet and passionate
But you still lack a brain
Because my heart is desolate
Of my existence you are now the bane

I truly believe you are stupid
You admit your lack of wit
Like dead meat you are truly putrid
And make me want to *****

So I refuse to be your paramour
Not even to save my life
You have my pity forevermore
Cause I'll never be your wife

So kindly go die in a hole
And uplift my disgusted soul

Horror Movie
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
Now I lay me down to sleep
Remembering the day
While up the stairs he'll slowly creep
And soon I'll be his prey

First I shall hear a sound
and venture out to find the source
Once the terrible hunter is found
I'll run, then scream, then trip (of course)

From this forest I was forbidden
Staying safe from nature, sweet yet cruel
But no matter how hard I try to stay hidden
The hunter shall always rule

As I looked into his cold, dead eyes
I silently prepared for my demise

Because I gave the government the other elixir!
But I’ve worked on my disease for too long!
Should I try to create a fixer?

It might **** off humanity,
Since everyone is getting the injection,
The human race would lose its sanity
As it dies of my infection.

I might as well admit

Ten Seconds
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
Tears rush down my cheeks
My nose runs
I desperately scrounge for Kleenex
You stand and stare awkwardly
Unapologetic for your cruelty

You're safe for now; I'm still crying
But once this flood stops
And I figure out exactly how much is your fault
You'll die

I still have ten seconds of bawling

You have ten seconds to run

Run to Ecuador and become a drug dealer

******* the Yakuza in Kyoto

Double cross a gang of Trinidadians

Become an alcoholic gold miner

All of these are less consequential than what I plan to do.

Any place is safer than in front of me, so you'd best be fleeing.

Ten seconds *******.
Constructive criticism welcome. No, I do not plan on killing anyone currently. Stop trying to have Glenrose take me away, mom!
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
I sat on a rock and stared
At the wisps of cloud
Obscuring the blue of the sky
The grey drew nearer
And I realized it was not merely grey
But aqua, navy, burnt, and yellow
I tried to scream
No words left my mouth

Then they left the sky

Plummeted to the earth

From the shelter I had taken only seconds before

I saw them

Those ducks

Those stupid ducks

Those stupid suicidal ducks

Destroy what remained of my garden

May one thousand starving rednecks boil you alive

As I watch my garden be avenged.

Today I Start A New Race
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
I'm tired of being told
To pick a side
To choose a race
Lest it be chosen by archaic values

I'll not be told I'm ''acting black''
Or that I'm an ''Oreo''
For being my mixed bag self
So I'll start a new race

Race is defined by ******* predetermined factors
But my race will be awesome
It won't be exclusive to
Skin colour
Hair texture
Language
Or eyes
Not the Canadian Race (working title)

Do you live in Canada?
Congratulations, you have now joined a new race!!!
Tired being told to choose a race or get called derogatory terms like
Mullatto
Wasian
Half Loser?
Join my epic race!!!
Believe in diplomacy, and using violence as a last resort?
Hooray!!! You should join now!
Tired of having your country be used as a cultural punching bag for America?
A pain deeply felt. Welcome to the Canadian Race.

I'm not black.
I'm not white.
I'm Canadian.
Constructive Criticism Appreciated. What do you think about the idea of race? Would you join? I'm curious. Let me know.

The Canadian Ghetto
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
The impoverished wasteland
That keeps you from changing the world
Will never be your home

Not if I'm here

You don't know how much people will try
To drive you away
To keep you ''where you belong''
A waiting place

The place I so desperately fear

Not for me; I'm not one of ''them''
But you are; according to the authorities
I can hide: we don't have race wars here
But how can you avoid it if the government perpetuates it?

I nearly shed a lone tear

The Canadian Ghetto
It's where you're destined to stay
If they, we, I let you fall
If the people convince you you're inferior

But you have nothing to fear.

I'll won't stop making you
                                                Braver
                                                 Smarter
                                                   Stronger
                                                     Aware

And when all is said and done
And they've taken your ability to give a ****
You still won't surrender

And I'll shed a joyous tear.
Constructive Criticism Appreciated.

Why I Don't Wear Makeup
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
I don't wear makeup.
I don't want to.
I don't want a pretty face,
Smiling and nodding,
Lulling you into a false sense of security.

Children are being ****** out by their own parents!
People are being murdered by the officials meant to protect them!
There are people so scared of their emotions they would rather die than confront them!

And you're ****** because I don't meet the beauty standards you adopted from our society?

Everyone is being forced to say sorry
And smile
And giggle
To make themselves and others believe that the superficial problems they face are dire
And that when they solve that they've accomplished something
And that everyone is just swell.

Not me.

I'm more blessed than I'll ever know
More fortunate than I'll ever appreciate and I'll do my best to save everyone,
To fix what is wrong.

So if I become over zealous
And ***** up my face
And disturb you
And force you to reconstruct your worldview
I'm not apologizing

And if you hope to take solace on beauty afterwards
To seek comfort on the familiar
My face still won't be made up
Constructive criticism appreciated

Fictional Catholic Rebel
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
Girls married off
To a dogma they can't stop
Decided at birth
I would tell you it hurts
That it truly is terrible
But it gave me an outlet
Made rebellion bearable

I abhor to see they way
They block us make us stay
They're pretty little vessels
But now it's too fun, I have to wrestle
The rules and regulations
The trials and tribulations
They really aren't that terrible

Mess with the horns, you get the teeth
Because she's determined to become a female preist
Tell her that it's wrong
That she disobeys God
But she'll just tap the Old Testament
Won't let her resentment
Control her when she smites you
Constructive criticism is appreciated. Admittedly, I don't know what story I was trying to tell

We Are Hydrocarbons
D'Arcy Sahn Oct 2014
We are hydrocarbons
We all burn
We are all laughed at
And we all get our turn

We produce our own enemies
We almost smother ourselves in sadness
We all release CO2
When we die from this poem's badness

We all want to be superior
We all want to be the equalizer
We want to be leerier
Without being the sympathizer

We smite and are smited
We hurt and we heal
We spite and are spited
And have a tenuous relationship with what's real

We are hydrocarbons
We are equal despite what we aspire
And if you don't agree
I'll light you on fire
Constructive criticism appreciated.
