"disrespect" poems
Take care of me, Be there for me. Never discourage me, Love me unconditionally. You're supposed to be my mother. But you treat me like I'm nothing. I'm sick of your constant disrespect, The loss of love in your eyes that makes me want to cry, It's itching inside of the back of my mind. And someday I'll say goodbye to you, You won't want me to, But you can't make me stay. You're not my mom. But until then, I'll be walking in the rain.

You're Not My Mom
I don't seek your permission... To write about the what, why and how. It could be a haiku or come in the shape of a cow. I don't need your approval... When I don't sound the least bit poetic... In my mismatched metaphors or ill-rhymed acrostic. I'm not asking for your blessing... When I pen down and put up what I think... Be it in cloying cliches or in tear drenched ink. I don't crave for your understanding... When my 10 word poems weren't filtered through your poetic lens, Or if my contributions in collaborations lack in sense. I don't hope for your likes... If my content does not tickle your fancy, Or if my words just rubs you silly. I mean no disrespect... But don't be too quick to click on the 'comment' button. Private messaging has been put there for a reason. I don't mean to cramp your style... You're entitled to your own opinions of course... But if you've got nothing good to say, please save it and shove it up yours.

Save It
Bittersweet, get me going.                      hold your breath over my neck,                                     it really          lets me go,                          twists my tongue. Talk to me                   like an angel but,                                                           touch me                 like a convict.                           disrespect me,               neglect me, abuse me, but,               with a voice I can't refuse. Bittersweet, like a rose infused. Bittersweet, keep me going.         my heart flutters and flails when I hear you in my ear.              Whisper me ********** but,                                        ***** me like a ******                     ****** me,              reduce me, fool me,              but  Bittersweet,                                           make me feel ***** Like you're in school and I am turning thirty.

But Bittersweet
I just want it to happen Like it's a work of magic. Like some kind of miracle That cancels all that is tragic. A spontaneous kind of thing Without me saying a word As if you read my very thoughts As if somehow you heard. It's a hope I've had all my life. The perfect lover comes along Saying exactly what I need to hear Never puts one foot wrong. Someone proud to be by my side That I never have to show the way And stay beside me as I sleep At the end of every perfect day. Because I can't stand any more Of the things I've had to bear. The many kinds of disrespect And the obvious lack of care. I need that someone special Who has the gift of giving. Who sees in me perfection Your world, life, and everything. I've had too much of the rest The other kind of love affair Where I am just a stopgap They didn't ever really care. The love I am looking for And who you just have to be Is the soul of romanatic essence, Absolute perfection, like me.

MAGIC OF LOVE
Have you seen the troubled youth these days? They're not very troubled at all. They create their own illness then spread it amongst the masses of degenerates. The symptoms consist of debauchery and disrespect. They yell to the crowd, "Look at me for I am broken." No. You are fixed...fixed onto the idea that one must be troubled to be different. Oh, have you seen the troubled youth of today? They're not so troubled after all.

Sarcastic Wonka.
Oh black negus. Why do you hate me so much? Noticed I called you by your rightful title. Negus King, Ruler, Emperor Not ***** or ****** The derogatory term originating from the crackers, or ***** the mild disparagement softened by society made to think that it's acceptable. But anyway let's get back to it. Why do you hate me? Is it because of my full lips or my round hips? My low tolerance for ******** The way that my stretch marks are engraved in my skin? Or how the roots of my hair aren't so thin. Is it my naturally sun kissed skin? Even toned complexion? It just can't be my uncanny resemblance to Isis the Egyptian Goddess! So why not praise me for my natural features Why go on one knee for their paid for enhancements Should I react like Angela Basset in Waiting to Exhale? Screaming and shouting while my face is growing pale. But pardon my melanin I was perplexed by this darkness that stared at me in the mirror That stared at me looking in my lovers eyes and taunted me Smiles behind hidden hate they constantly berate my beauty But pardon my melanin My superiority is in my melanin Encased in my skeleton Our ancestors wouldn't like this They would not be proud of that colorism that exist They slander us for our features yet they list after it This systematic thinking has our men slandering us but they won't admit You continue to beat me down yet I am your mother. I am the fruit of this nation. But pardon my melanin So I'll ask again Why do you hate me? We are carved in the same beauty and without each other we can't exist I still remember the first day that we kissed but a few months later you left me for hailey in an unfortunate bliss Melanin filled girls I am here to say You are a queen never be afraid to be seen The brother that disrespect and degrade are absolutely absurd! You are not ratchet bitter or mean Youre a stunning melanin queen So pardon my melanin? Naw enlightened by me melanin.

cybernetic beef
Mom makes you smile for a picture in front of the bus on your very first day of school, "You only have one first day of kindergarten!" she says. But every time you hear the scratching of leather seats, You are back to that day When tears rolled off your tiny pink cheeks, onto the front of your Lion King tee shirt The first time you ever had to be afraid that you would never see her again. Brother tells you not to worry about the boy that bothered you, the impact of a fist on his right eye is a warning that guarantees he'll never disrespect a girl again. But every time you step in the pebbles on a playground, You're still struggling to run just slow enough not to slip yet fast enough to keep from being caught and held captive by the first boy to ever kiss you without permission. Grandma tells you to "appreciate today" every day because you'll never get it back. But every time you hear the crash of waves against a shoreline, You're there with her in your favorite place in the world. And the sun is overhead with looks of never coming down, But you'd be okay if it did because you swear these colors of the sunset don't exist when you see it from anywhere else And you never feel so close to God as you feel right here. Dad is sad when you're growing up because you'll only be little once. But every time you get the surprising scent of metal and grease, You're five years old again and dad is getting home from work and he lifts you up in a hug and you bury your face in his shirt and breathe in, And you're confident that he will carry you to bed later that night on that same shoulder when you fall asleep on the couch. You're told over and over to forgive and your mother keeps trying, too. But every time a green van passes by, you're a vulnerable twelve-year-old with a record that says easy prey and you're back at that police station and you're both still crying and forgiveness still seems so far away. Everyone tells you that "first love" is something you only feel once. But every time September rolls around, You're still staring back into the first eyes to look at you in awe, His palms feel sweaty in yours but you don't mind. And you can still taste his lips and smell the sweet mint Stride on his breath and you feel everything. It’s strange how they promise that you can't turn back time,
 yesterday is gone,
today will only happen once.
Because I go back all the time; And I still feel everything.

“I'm big, you're little. I'm smart, you're dumb. I'm right, you're wrong.” This is what you've taught me, but I've learned another way. I try to be so peaceful, I practice every day. I've been through quite a lot, And I've had to be so strong. My message must have gotten lost, been fighting for so long. You raised me as a woman, Yet you treat me like a man The way that I'm reacting often goes against my plan. I'm trying to reach out and you call it my excuse. What you see as parenting, Feels like abuse. I feel very threatened and begin to snap back; I realize my mistake too late, I try hard to retract. I need some space to breathe, I need a little air... You get so worked up; leaving no room for repair. I try to walk away, I try to be alone, But you will never let it be And that is set in stone. I feel backed into a corner, As though I have been trapped. You push me all my life And expect that I won't snap. I am very agile, But I am just a person. I try to learn to bend so the problem will not worsen. You think that I'm rebellious And full of disrespect Whenever I'm defensive As I am made upset. I don't want to feel scared And I don't want to feel pain, Once you introduce those feelings It can drive a girl insane. I'm sorry that I haven't turned out quite how you expected. My problems are ignored And my person feels rejected. Expose me to the anger of which I have been subjected... I forget why I'm hurting and I follow your objective. The things that I'm saying are just sitting in my head, You may not remember them as things that you once said. I don't mean to preach and I don't try to follow, But your anger is so loud That I find mine hard to swallow. I'll leave if you need me to, But that's not what i need. I want to coexist with you, I'm just not up to your speed. I need love and I need patience, But you have your own issues And you cannot face this. It's chalked down to "He's old and he'll never change his ways" If this isn't an excuse, I don't know what more to say. You think that we are different, but we are quite the same. You don't see yourself in me And I find that quite strange. You say I make my problems Into someone else's, While doing just the same... Am I the only one who is selfish? I never mean to do or say the things that I have I wish that you could help me out, but you are just my dad. You are who you are, no matter who it affects. I just have to get over it, as everyone expects. I'll try not to be like you; Try to avoid all of your habits. The idea is in front of me, I just can't seem to grab it.

In this life you will find Degradation unavoidable For it is in the weather of our life Degradation is like radioactive waste We pass like presents to each other The rain on a wedding day As I did once live In the shadows of dread As degradation breathed on me And I fell into the pits of self doubt And stank of slimy sewers For I was lost in loathing , But my soul grew rapidly In the muck and mud of this world For it was fertile and rich As my roots drank up all its goodness So please send me your degradation Your disrespect and contempt Your pretty wrapping of best interests Makes no fool of me For I will soak it up like the sky above For I embrace my madness And caress her beauty Like the most cherished lover As you reject your life Within the tight confines Of your own reason As you seek to bury your Disappointments in me I hold your self doubt in my hands For you live by scales and ranking As I throw away all scales And burn all efforts For there is nothing I can take from this world So please, please Strain if you must Look down on me If you can, As I am above For I own the sky And live above and beyond But all degradation disappears In the softest heart Of self acceptance As I fill the room All banter falls like the softest snow As we serenely dance and play In our snowball games As I learn to swing and play All jokes bounce and tickle The inside of my belly For I live in the ecstasy Of my own self acceptance As we roll around like clowns All barriers broken Our bellies full of joy As we spill over with love And bounce around like jelly For no degradation exists In the center of our hearts Where God permeates our souls For his love should be Followed into us whole As I accept God's goodness And perfection in all of me

Excuses, excuses - they'll come in a flood, When you realize your actions have pushed me away. Imagine! That I once considered you blood! But I've had quite enough of the games that you play. The switch came in stages, a gradual thing, I first didn't notice; it wasn't too clear. My perspective grew sharper with distance between, Felt your backhanded words as they pin-pricked my ears. You thought I wouldn't notice, would let it slip by, Never gave me much credit, and that was your fault. Wrapped your insults in jokes, like arsenic on rye, And you thought all this time that you wouldn't be caught. I don't know where you get it - this self-righteous act, It's not as endearing as you think it to be. You might take what you want, and then leave it at that, But I'm telling you now: you'll get no more from me. I don't know what has prompted you picking this fight. They're pathetic, yet hurtful, these things that you say. And I don't know where you think you've gotten the right To take it out on me when you don't get your way. For years, it's been happening - don't know how I missed All the ways you controlled me; I answered to you. Always did what you wanted, I'm realizing this; The extent of the selfishness you put me through. But it changed not too long ago, didn't it, dear? Oh yes, I grew a spine, and things started to change. And, oh, you didn't like what you started to hear. My defying your wants nearly made you deranged. People grow and they change; it's especially true For me ever since I was finally free. So how sad to discover it's not true for you, You're the same as you were, and as you'll always be. That's the person you are, who you've been since we met And it never caused issues until days of late. The things that you've said are things you will regret, Because I have no room for your envy-fueled hate. You've become quite the mean one - I'm sorry, it's true. You're no longer the person to whom I could turn. It's a shame (it's a **** shame), but yes, we are through. And it will not be me who is nursing the burn. Maybe one day you'll change, and we might reunite. I'm not getting my hopes up - there's danger in that. Until then, I hope you learn to treat people right, Because no one desires to stand by a brat. Maybe I am the first to address how you are, But I won't be the last, and this, I can assure. Your poignant self-righteousness won't get you far, And I'm sorry - for your case, there isn't a cure. So remember me now; you'll remember me then, When you lose all those who used to stand at your side. You'll remember the disrespect you showed your friend, For alas, she won't be there, holding you as you cry.

Is Dis Good or Is Dis Bad (a partici-poem)
Swim though your sea of people as you dare, I'll throw my bait and reel you in fast like your rare, I'll beat in the fear and warning as you can't breathe, Then throw you back in your stupid sea, Develop scars on the inside that speak, and leave you be.

Disrespect
A bubbly baby A tiny toddler A cute child An intolerable teen An angry adult The grumpy elderly To people around the world, no matter your age, have you ever stopped to think about how much you can learn from each different generation? You might not get a wise piece of advice, but you can see life through a new lens tinted with the color hope, and you can gain experience without even experiencing. Think about that next time you go to badmouth a parent, disrespect an elder, or even chastise you child.

Age Doesn’t Define Intelligence
Maybe I’m just weird But it seems rather Strange to me That it is only I The gay atheist Will say the pledge All the others around me Cocooned in warm ignorance Refuse to address rights only they have

Ironic Disrespect
Is is trust or disrespect that swerves avoiding cats but carelessly bulldozes pigeons— who make it out just in time?

Human Nature
I sit there and know That I could never Engage myself in conversations With these conundrums. Those who are both human, and Badly wrapped paper packages, Filled with so much experience, Brimming with knowledge which Is rapidly fleeing through The holes in the brown paper Worn by time. How can I speak to those Who cannot hear my words in full So that they must be talked to Slowly, like They are children But that have been through so much More than I At the tender age of seventeen Could even imagine. How can I speak to these enigmas Who keep asking me the same questions But which I cannot talk to Without being Disrespectful Not only towards them But towards my future Aged self, who will one day Be in their position And who I cannot imagine Will want to be treated Like a five year old At the age of eighty five.

Don't make fun of my scars You see, They have minds of their own And loathe disrespect

The Cat
Those good old days of youth. Teachers were to be respected. Not to be attacked. One ounce of disrespect to them. You soon was facing your parents. Yes, those were the good old days. The church wasn't truly a choice. Well, maybe for daddy it was. But under mama rules. You owed respect to the one that created you. The good old days. Respect was cherished art. It was something those good parents taught. Even if the adults were wrong. And you best not try to talk back. Because you had to be re-taught respect. Parents weren't trying to be your friends. You were educated on where friendship ends. And the role of parents begins. And with them. You weren't going to always get your way. Well, maybe when you sick. Because parents become carings kids. You get cake and ice cream when ill. While if healthy. You had to eat your dinner. And hope they don't forget this offering deal. Oh, the good old days. You had a time limit to be in. The street lights bet not come on. And you're not in the yard. This when parents went hard. Lectures and sermons to last for days. Punishments, I won't begin to say. Remember, these the parents of the good old days.

The Good Old Days
Dear Colin What an inspiration A role model See I know how you feel I'm like you Mixed race, perspectives of two From a young age And to this day I'm ashamed I hated my blackness I saw what the world offered them So I didn't want part of it And I saw my people Crying out with no one to listen So I used my voice To scream their message loud They'll call you a traitor They say it's disrespect But to be more mad of an anthem than lives that are lost. Lives these soldiers fight for Lives these soldiers die for You are my hero Kaep You saved me. The light in a dark world Where hope evades the privilege of a mulatto kid, with white parents And hope burns in darkness It shines it's light strong 10 years from now people who so hated this movement Will understand This was the time You led the rebellion Against injustice for all.

Role Model
Señor Garcia Marquez Whatever did you mean When you wrote of life And of death by family I'm in love with Prudencio Aguilar's ghost Roaming about the Buendía household Hole in his throat Washing out the wound But what did you mean?! I'm in love with Do it yourself chastity belts And Ursula's fear of *** But why is this even a theory Your concept behind biracial inbreeding And Señor do not get me started On Melquíades and José Arcadio Buendía Because that friendship was Fated to be doomed I mean no disrespect in all this I just want to know Why use Macondo as an allegory For the Angel Gabriel You're genius, really But your run on paragraphs Infuriate every ounce of my writing soul You're a Columbian Tolstoy I mean that as no insult Your works are tremendous and outstanding But what am I doing You're now just an old dead man "Under the ground" So now I belong to figure out Why Pilar needs to fill a void Opened by a ****** And why Colonel Aureliano Buendía Thinks of his fond memory of ice Just before being killed I've paid my respects to your work Please pay respects to my search

Gabriel Garcia Márquez
If ever I thought I was worthless useless an empty vessel to hold the blame of the world, I was ignorant. In the shadow of others I did not realize I was outgrowing the limited social garden bed of my ‘friends’ and companions. Friends would be an overstatement and a title many of them have never and will never earn. As a Scorpio my trust is not easily gained, and one lost, it is gone forever. Something in me, though, always forgave, but kept the trespasses against my trust cataloged, loaded, waiting to fire across my synapses is self destruction. If ever I took your interest as a sign of friendship, I was a fool. If ever I opened my heart to you, if ever I extended an almost maternal hand to you I was an idiot. My body has been run ragged with its attempts at pleasing all and apologizing for its darker nature. My narcissism has become a survival mechanism that I once thought needed you. My soul is weary of your needy hands, your open-bird mouth that I keep feeding more and more of my soul. Compassion has an end with me. In this game of survival, I will always be the fittest and you’ve stopped entertaining the animal within me. I am worth so much more than being drained of my entirety. I am manifest energy as you are, as the earth is. Like the Earth my resources have been tapped and I can give no longer. Like the Earth I shall strike with ground shattering vengeance. If ever I thought friendship was giving you everything for nothing in return, I was blind, for I am a Goddess as you are. I am a Goddess as you are a God, and your meager offerings of passing interest and constant need are insufficient. My inner patriarch has fed of your male-centric patterns of thought, and the women of my past lives are too loud in protest for this to continue. I deserve much more than “friends” like you. & most of all If ever I thought my thighs were a sufficient reason for me to hate myself, if ever I thought they were an excuse for you to disrespect me, then I was a ***** Because you are an *** hole. And my body is rad
