The Beatles? Really?
of all the shirts you wear you
Choose the Beatles. Ugh...

Ok, I love the Beatles, but corresponding to my last haiku, don't disrespect the Beatles like that either. Don't wear the shirt if you don't know the band.  Likewise when I ask you about the Beatles you have no clue what i'm talking about when I mention it's so sad about what happened to John Lennon you get confused. Please, just don't. Anyone but The Beatles

There are disrespectful children, who shows you no respect.  They walk around in pride, thinking they are "all that."
There is no respect for those who's  in authority.  They gamble on the side, looking for a fee.
There are disrespectful children, always ready to fight.  They just don't have a conscience, to do the things that's right.
There are disrespectful children, who love to talk back.  All you receive from them, is a whole lot of flack.
There are disrespectful children, all into what they wear.  To ask them to do a good deed, they just do not care.

Sorry to break your tiny little hearts
But women are not objects.
So, before you post pictures
Of yourself getting head
On the internet
Or before you tell Her
To 'get back in the kitchen'
Or to "make me a sandwich',
Why don't you
Swallow your pride
And Fuck your ego.

your witty remarks
and hearty jokes
aren't very funny

i thought i'd tell you
before things got
out of hand

i don't appreciate you
calling me

you are no one to me
and those
nicknames are
for those who
actually know
how to treat me
as a human
not a plaything

just because
i was born a certain gender
does not
give you the right
to feel like
you have the right
to call me
what you want
and treat me
as you please

my vagina
(yes, i spoke the forbidden, sue me)
does not
make me
or more
than any
other human
any other
sex organs

so next time
you're about to
open that
big mouth of yours
put your
arm around my shoulders
wink at me
you'd better

i'm using
my words
i'm not
always going to be
so nice

unlike what you said earlier
i'm not overreacting
this is a natural response
to everyday sexism
and just because
society has become used to it
adapted to it
accepted it
does not mean
i will give in
or give up
or ever conform
to these
downright disgusting norms

i am a woman
that does not make me
to those of other genders
am i superior
to anyone
except, maybe,

// thank you, doctor, for showing me that no amount of education can take the filth out of a sexist barbarian //

I'm tired
Of these young comedians
Making disrespectful jokes
And stereotyping
People from the south

Especially one comedian
In particular
I won't name

It's not good to stereotype
Any group of people

I appreciate your sense of humor

But stereotyping is disrespectful

Breath should be held when passing a graveyard; as breathing is disrespectful to the dead.

It's bad
It's hurtful
It's something I don't believe in

It's deceitful
It's disrespectful
It's something I don't believe in

It's upsetting
It's ridiculous
It's something I don't believe in

It's different
It's tempting
It's something I've done

Man much respected he was.
Honest opinions he gave.
All tolerated him with smile;
Even if negative, men brave!

Honest opinions when all gave.
His eyes filled with tears.
Much disrespectful he turned;
And closed both his ears.

I do not understand...

In school,
When we were young,
We learned to respect others,
and treat everybody as an equal

But those who taught us
To not be disrespectful
are the ones who choose favorite students

In the classroom,
by the teachers,
maybe some of us are not equal

...they are the hypocrites...

I know what it is like to not be treated as an equal person.
I do not understand why teachers (for lack of a better word) "preach" about equality, but they can not simply "practice what they preach" in the classroom.

An Antiquated Tree
Is cherished of the Crow
Because that Junior Foliage is disrespectful now
To venerable Birds
Whose Corporation Coat
Would decorate Oblivion’s
Remotest Consulate.

We just drove through a small town
It was fascinating
Fascinatingly morbid
Morbidly surreal
There were probably 10+ plots that were haphazardly converted into graveyards
'Ratchet' as my generation would think but not say because that would be 'disrespectful to the dead'
In each of the graveyard were hundreds of graves
And it was strange
Strange how such 'ratchet, disrespected and haphazard' graveYARDS
Contained such Beautiful and ornate gravestones
As if to say that nothing could lessen the glory of their death
They would leave behind an impression of beauty
Even in death
(Even though they never chose their gravestones. But don't say that because it would be 'disrespectful to the dead' in their blissful abyss)
It makes one think
That in a town of less than 1000
There was easily more  than 2000 gravestones
It shows how life goes on
How, even in a small town,  we are insignificant

I sit there and know
That I could never
Engage myself in conversations
With these conundrums.

Those who are both human, and
Badly wrapped paper packages,
Filled with so much experience,
Brimming with knowledge which
Is rapidly fleeing through
The holes in the brown paper
Worn by time.

How can I speak to those
Who cannot hear my words in full
So that they must be talked to
Slowly, like
They are children
But that have been through so much
More than I
At the tender age of seventeen
Could even imagine.

How can I speak to these enigmas
Who keep asking me the same questions
But which I cannot talk to
Without being

Not only towards them
But towards my future
Aged self, who will one day
Be in their position
And who I cannot imagine
Will want to be treated
Like a five year old
At the age of eighty five.

Maybe years
Will make me the wiser.
