It's time to begin the process

In this life there are
people who like and dislike you.
It has taken me too long to let the latter go,
and to understand that there is
little you can do to change that.

move on, and live with that fact
because not everyone is going to like you.

This city holds excitement for us all.
But no joy.

it's too busy wallowing
in broken dreams and
smiles as vacant as the buildings
that are too tall,
and too bright
to ever close.

I never thought,
I'd miss the rain and
cold of London winters-
the hustle and grind,
of everyday life.
I miss the tube,
the trees and the tulips
of St James Park
but most of all,
I miss you.

Are 'alone' and 'lonely' the same thing?
Are you as alone in a crowd
as you are by yourself?
Is your loneliness the mist
floating on the water
or the lurking creatures
beneath the sea?

We all feel a little lonely
sometimes more than others
so find someone or something
that can absorb you and
make you forget that you
were ever alone.

Some nights are
filled with so much darkness,
so much emptiness.
Everyone is asleep now
and it's just me and the solitude
once again.
Is this what
loneliness feels like?

Loneliness
isn't when others
aren't there for you,
it is when you are not
there for yourself.
If you cannot be
there for yourself
in a world of billions-
that is true
loneliness.

It is important
not to dwell on these things-
they have a way of

look forward,
