There are demons behind these lips.
Kiss me and let them feel loved.
Mitch Prax Feb 2020
If you kissed
me to infinity,
I would still be
craving more because
enough does not exist
when it comes
to you.
Mitch Prax May 20
The world does not
revolve around you
and never will.
The sooner you accept
your place in it,
the better off
you will be.
Mitch Prax May 2021
You took up
a lot of pages but
you won't be in my last chapter.
My story was
never about you,
it's about the ones who
stick around for the
entire book.
Mitch Prax Aug 2022
In the end,
I had no choice but
to cut the last thread
that sewed us
together.
Mitch Prax Aug 2021
It is okay to leave,
but if and when you do,
don't forget to cherish the good
and abandon the bad.
Mitch Prax Sep 2017
You're just what I need
Needed...
I miss you
But I know I'm not supposed to
You're gone now
And I need to accept that
Still, I tell myself
We'll meet again
And that you still
Think about me too
So all I can hope
Is that you don't forget me
Don't forget what we shared
If only for a little while
All I can hope
Is that you leave a light on
For what
The future holds
Mitch Prax Feb 2023
I am leaving-
not because I want to,
but because by leaving,
I will recover the piece
of me missing.
Mitch Prax Mar 2019
People always leave.
It was never about them-
It's about the ones
who come back.
Mitch Prax Jan 2020
You made my mirror blush.
My pillow misses the smell of your hair.
You lit up my room and
my bed misses your touch.
This place seems a little less
like home now that
you're gone.
Mitch Prax Sep 2022
You may not
be able to forget them,
but you sure as hell
can remember them
as lessons.
Mitch Prax Sep 2022
Relief is a cleansed heart
so let the anger burn away.
Yes, it's easier said than done but
there is no worse burden than a heavy heart.
So grab onto the heartbreak, the anguish,
and even the unresolved
and let the tears pour until
you are dry.
Now you can
let go.
Mitch Prax Mar 2021
I am not
Paul McCartney-
I cannot let it be.
Mitch Prax Dec 2019
It died when I
no longer felt warmth
in your kiss nor
the spark in your words.
So just bury this beast
we call 'love',
anything else would be inhumane.
Anything more and we’ll die too.
Mitch Prax Jan 2019
You drive me crazy,
but not in the romantic way.
You turn my brain upside down;
you leave me clueless and hopeless-
your image branded into my mind
and I can't seem to drive you out
of my dreams.
Mitch Prax Dec 2019
Hand in hand,
standing at the gates of Hell.
Nothing else exists,
but for the flames
of Turkmenistan
burning as bright
as the love
between
us two.
Mitch Prax Apr 2022
Letting go is hard-
letting go is necessary.
It can lead to freedom but
it does not come without pain-
a small price to pay
for this peace of mind.
I am free today because I let go
and I make no regrets.
Mitch Prax Jul 2019
Sometimes I can't let go.
If we've had fun,
chances are I'll still
think about you
from time to time.
If we were friends in high school
chances are I'll still wonder
what you're up to these days.
Those crushes will never leave-
they'll just fade away,
at least until you find a way
back into my mind.
The point is-
if I give up on someone
just know they **** well
deserved it.
Mitch Prax Aug 2022
It has taken me too long
to realize that you aren't coming back.
At first I thought you would eventually
miss me like I miss you-
that you would constantly check your phone
as I check mine,
but it was never you.
I spent all this time waiting for you,
trying to remember the memories,
the way you made me feel,
while you spent all this time
falling in love with
someone else.
It pained me see the two of you,
perhaps it always will,
but at least I know now that
you are not coming back.
Indeed, you had not thought about me
that way I still thought about you
but rather, it was as you never loved me at all,
as if I had never existed.
It's time to begin the process
of letting go.
Mitch Prax Nov 2024
In this life there are
people who like and dislike you.
It has taken me too long to let the latter go,
and to understand that there is
little you can do to change that.
All you can do is let them go,
move on, and live with that fact
because not everyone is going to like you.
Understand that it is their loss
and that tripping over yourself
for others will never bring
you happiness nor
your true self.
Mitch Prax Aug 2021
Life will not hand you
your dreams so easily-
It simply gives you the tools
to achieve them.
Mitch Prax Sep 2024
For better or worse,
life happens without
asking us.
Of course I
am anxious.
Mitch Prax Apr 2023
I just want to sleep,
but life calls me again,
along with the moon and darkness.
I'd like to sleep,
but this mind is filled with dreams,
and sometimes nightmares.
Mitch Prax Jan 2014
Life is a double-edged sword
Life is an everlasting chord,
It stings when you are alone
As it sings its bitter tone
Life is a double-edged blade.
It cuts deep, you’d better be afraid
Wake up tomorrow and let it start
Feel it pierce your fragile heart
Mitch Prax May 2023
The sunflowers remind me of you.
Indeed, I crave the warmth of your body
and your vibrant soul that would
brighten each and every day.
Your light lifts shadows
from this bleak soul
and plants sunflowers
in this heart.
Mitch Prax Aug 2019
The shadow has lifted
releasing the light of life-
my soul is freed from darkness.
I feel alive again,
now my only fear is
until when?
Mitch Prax May 2022
I don’t regret opening the door to you.
you entered this heart and
illuminated every corner.
You were the brightest thing
I have ever let in
even though you
turned off the light.
Mitch Prax Oct 2023
I want to wrap “I love you,"
onto every curl on your head
so that you can hear a chorus of
"I Love you's" each time with each
brush plucking your hair like a harp.
Mitch Prax Oct 2020
Like lavender,
this world is a brighter place
because of your beauty
and your grace.
Like lavender,
there is something about you,
so wild yet so soft,
that gets me through.
Like lavender,
you have a scent so divine,
and I have been blessed
to call it mine.
Mitch Prax Mar 2021
We all
get a little lonely sometimes,
that's okay,
because that's what it means
to be lonely in this
little lonely world.
Mitch Prax Dec 2018
The city is alive
with its aging streets
and their flashing neon lights.
The hungry inhabitants shed no tear;
the gutters are already overflowing
with broken bottles and promises
and liquid dreams as old as the palace.
This city holds excitement for us all.
But no joy.
Mitch Prax Jul 2019
The city never sleeps,
it's too busy wallowing
in broken dreams and
smiles as vacant as the buildings
that are too tall,
and too bright
to ever close.
Mitch Prax Feb 2020
I never thought,
I'd miss the rain and
cold of London winters-
the hustle and grind,
of everyday life.
I miss the tube,
the trees and the tulips
of St James Park
but most of all,
I miss you.
Mitch Prax Sep 2018
Are 'alone' and 'lonely' the same thing?
Are you as alone in a crowd
as you are by yourself?
Is your loneliness the mist
floating on the water
or the lurking creatures
beneath the sea?
Mitch Prax Jul 2019
We all feel a little lonely
sometimes more than others
so find someone or something
that can absorb you and
make you forget that you
were ever alone.
Mitch Prax Apr 2022
Some nights are
filled with so much darkness,
so much emptiness.
Everyone is asleep now
and it's just me and the solitude
once again.
Is this what
loneliness feels like?
Mitch Prax Apr 26
Loneliness
isn't when others
aren't there for you,
it is when you are not
there for yourself.
If you cannot be
there for yourself
in a world of billions-
that is true
loneliness.
Mitch Prax Feb 2021
You're lonely,
I'm lonely,
maybe we can be
a little less lonely
together.
Mitch Prax Jun 2021
It is important
not to dwell on these things-
they have a way of
eating you alive.
The best thing you
can do now is shut up,
look forward,
and never back.

Look forward,
and never back.
Mitch Prax Feb 2024
Isn't it funny how
the days, weeks, months
never seem to change,
but looking back,
the years never
feel the same?
Mitch Prax Aug 2022
It's not about what you lose,
it's about what you learned
from what you lose.
Mitch Prax Jul 2021
I want to lose myself-
not through drugs or fantasy
but through travelling the world.
I want to dive into cultures
and forget where I'm from.
Mitch Prax Mar 2022
There is nothing wrong
with losing people.
What is wrong is
losing yourself
for other people.
Mitch Prax Sep 2022
I do not fear losing you
as much as I fear you losing me.
Our memories are forever tattooed in my mind,
and this love, forever burning in my heart.
I know I will never lose you.
What I fear is that I will fade-
my name, my blood, my memory.
Will the winds of time extinguish this bond
or will another flame reignite the spark
that we once shared?

I do not fear losing you
as much as I fear you losing me.
Mitch Prax Aug 2020
And just like that,
you were gone-
a scent lost to the wind,
a sight lost to the void,
a touch lost to space
and a memory lost to time.
Mitch Prax Apr 2022
Though I am lost,
I am still trying to find
my way back to who I was.
I am still out there,
somewhere,
and I believe he too is trying
to find his way back to me.
Mitch Prax Mar 2022
I wandered too far
from who I was and now
I cannot find my way back to me.
I know that I am still out there
waiting to be found,
waiting to feel alive,
and waiting to love
again.
Mitch Prax Mar 2022
Somewhere down the line
you lost yourself.
Was I to blame?
I'm not sure,
but I did ignore the signs
and that's on me.
Both of us thought you
would never get lost and now
I just want to bring back
who you once were.
Mitch Prax Feb 2024
I close my eyes and
suddenly, I am there,
in the memories I try to forget,
where I lost my heart and
have been trying to
reclaim it since.
